The young girl sighed. "Man it's cold..." she said. Then she remembered she had brought a Squirtle Sweater. Alexandra put it on. "So cozy and much better." Alexandra happily said to herself. She sat on the ground to rest, and looked at the trees with her flashlight. "I wonder when my group will fid me... Ah well, I'm sure it won't matter as long as I find some stuff for us!" As she said this, her flashlight went out, and it was dark. TOO dark.

"Nonononononoooooooooo! COME ON FLASHLIGHT WORK!" Alexandra screamed. It was one of her greatest fears to be alone in the dark. When it became apparent the light was dead, she began to freak out and cry. "Help! Somebody please! HELP ME!!!" Alexandra pleaded out into the night.

DAY 2 3/4DATE JUNE 16THLOCATION SKY WOODS / TREE HOUSE
    MOOD AMUSED❤!! NOTHINGWEARING
    OOC SO SILLY.
    '

Toni and Sophie were called for when Sammy found the tree house before she did. Sophie couldn't help but take a moment to admire the structure. It was built a few years ago, but was kept in mint condition so that it would be safe to go in. The best part about it was . . . not many people actually knew it was here. Not this one, anyway. Surely you didn't expect for there to be only one tree house in this wide range of forest?

Sophie had some wonderful memories in this one, though . . . Ahaha.

"Now listen here, pumpkin head." Sophie looked over her shoulder to see Toni looking at her. Pumpkin head? Sophie laughed at the poorly made insult, and she was fairly sure her head was shaped nothing like a pumpkin, "I've seen the looks you've been giving Alice, and I know you don't like Noëlle much either, but no more!"

Ahaha. She sounded like a little girl throwing a tantrum.

"You're not very smart, are you? I suppose empaths and mind readers are able to pick up on those sorts of things, aren't they? Perhaps I could give you credit for that," Sophie asked with a smile, cherishing this moment, "In case you haven't been paying attention or reading into the lines, I haven't been giving dirty looks to anyone, and it was never previously stated that I disliked Noëlle -- in fact, I find her quite interesting."

There was more, oh so more, to be said, but they were on a mission, and Sophie didn't have time for some two-bit, sorry excuse for a human being's temper tantrum.

"I think you'll find it very difficult to find my mother, by the way." Sophie mentioned absentmindedly, "She's dead."

Tying her short hair back, Sophie nimbly climbed up the ladder to the tree house after Sammy and instead of lingering on the deck, she went inside the somewhat-furnished area, flashing her light around for anything interesting.

They had found something . . . interesting earlier, now that she thought about it. A box of condoms and a strange card. She was more interested in the card, but she did want to make balloon animals out of the condoms later, if they were clean. The card had been stored securely in her back pocket for later checking.

Yeah, sure. If I don't squash him first. Noëlle laughed. Will this help? I know most use real lighters are mechanical, but a flame's a flame right?

Hallelujah! Propping her flashlight in the dirt, she pinched the cigarette between her lips and took the match, pressing the red tip between her legs, flicking it against the cold stone.

I've never smoked. God, I'm such a virgin in some many ways, it's not even funny. Especially the big one. Ugh. You'd think I'd have guys crawling for the whole "Amazon" sort of thing. Maybe even a little bit of an underwater fantasy to go with it.

So she was right !! 'Sebastian' DID mean underwater fetish. That was fantastic. Her eyes shone brought with interest, but Alice didn't elaborate. Disappointing.

I know love isn't everything, Noey, but for once, I want to feel that passion; I want to know what it feels like to have the heat inside my heart.

As she went on about the heat in her heart, Noëlle was feeling an intense heat between her fingers. With an unnecessarily loud yelp, she instinctively flicked her wrist, sending the still-light match flying into the dust. Instantly, she stood up, right when Alice was tumbling backwards. At first nothing worrisome happened ... then, without even a full sixty seconds passing, the match caught flame to a bundle of dry twigs that lay scattered on the ground.

    Oh no!

Her heart suddenly felt five times too big, and adrenaline pulsed through her veins. Shakily, she reached for the flashlight and stumbled to the flames. Somehow, kicking the dust into flames only made it worse. The flames rose and spread violently, sending smoke billowing up into the air. Hundreds of emotions must have shot through her, but the most overpowering one was 'fear', and it was driving her to scramble back.

Help...H-Help. HELP. HELP!! Alice!! Finally, she started shouted and blaring her flashlight into the trees surrounding them. The lake was so far...! Why was the fire spreading so fast?? Eyes wide, she swiveled towards Alice and held out a trembling hand. This could still be resolved. There were plenty of leaders out here, and they had told them to call for help if they really needed it. ALICE. I'm so sorry, we need to lea--... ...

    ROAAAAAAAAAAAR !!

Noëlle had never seen a bear up close before then, It was huge, like a toward, and jet black like the depths of the ocean. Her lips parted in shock and her eyes burned, smoke threatening to suffocate her already. The bear looked HIGHLY agitated, and suddenly Noëlle started to regret basically every decision she had ever made in her life. Her knees trembled but her sharp mind told her to run. Alice was to the left foot of the bear, but the bear wasn't looking at her--it was glaring at Noëlle. Suddenly, it dropped onto all fours and took a step forward with a heavy breath, and something that sounded like a sneeze and then a snare.

Her chest felt bound by ropes, and her knees felt super glued together.

Frozen, helpless and on top of EVERYTHING -- this was her fault.

Save Alice. Save Alice. Alice. ...Run. R U N.

The flames caught the heavy tops of a tree, and the area blast into a blinding, burning light.

The forest was buzzing and smoke and flames were closing in. Animals made desperate sounds she had never heard before, fleeing from what was their home -- or burning it it. But the forest was humongous. There had to be a way to contain the flames before absolute disaster.

Noëlle was gone by then, running as fast as she could through the forest, wheezing despite how fit she knew she was. Her calves burned as she left over tree roots and prickly bushes, hearing the heavy footsteps and loud roars behind her. She screamed again, for help, as loudly as her lungs would allow, and plowed through everything in her way.

Location: Woods, with Jenna<>Clothes<>Song<>Mood: Worrisome<>OOC: Sean is going through some dramatic changes here. xD I know how these things can suddenly come up by being a big brother by a difference of 11 years. To a girl much like Jenna.

"Searching high!" Jenna called from the bushels low on a taller tree that Sean had helped her into. "You search low, because now you're shorter." She climbed higher into the tree, much to the precaution of Sean on the ground.

"Hey! You said you wouldn't go any higher!" Sean was getting angry and gruff-voiced because the oath had been a spit-handshake. According to Sean, you didn't spit into your hand, shake hands with another person who had and not take that seriously. But Jenna couldn't or wouldn't hear him as she climbed up the higher branches, eventually reaching a point where she could see over the treetops of many other trees, and could see a great deal of mixed deciduous and coniferous canopy around.

"Wow..." The view was spectacular to the child as she took it all in.

Meanwhile, down on the ground, Sean could only help but dig through some dirt that looked like it had been recently upturned near the base of the tree, as he sweat bullets over Jenna. If something happened to that kid, he didn't care about what Erik would do to him, he only cared about what he'd do to himself...

Erik turned on the flashlight for a moment to check the time on his watch. It was about time Emalynn and James got back, but she had also said she did not own a watch. Hopefully they would swing back over here soon or he'd have to take off on his own which would do them no good. If he ventured around on his own, then he would be more exposed to the taggers. Erik frowned into the darkness and slipped his fingers into his back pocket. He fumbled around for a second, trying to avoid the mace, and pulled out a lighter and his pack of cigarettes. Erik slid one out of the pack before stuffing it back in his pocket and lighting it. If he heard any footsteps, then he would snub it out on the trunk immediately to keep from any potential passerby seeing the cherry at the tip.

A plume of smoke enveloped him and he inhaled the excess smoke. It smelled wonderful. He rested his head back against the hard wooden surface behind him and relaxed in the tree. His eyes closed, blocking out the already present darkness, and he let his left arm hang lip at his side.

Shouting broke through Erik's moment of peace. He put out the cigarette and shoved its remains into his pocket. Something seemed wrong. The smell of smoke burned his nostrils and not the way his cigarette smoke did. This smelled more natural, more deadly. There seemed to be some light far ahead that didn't match a flashlight.

Decidedly, he began his careful decent down the tree. Something was definitely wrong. When he was about ten feet about the ground, Erik let go of the branch he was holding and dropped to his feet. Pain jutted up his ankles and radiated through his legs briefly. He could hear the sounds of fire cracking and burning and finally distinguish what the light was--flames. His brown eyes glowed in the distant light of the flames. The forest was on fire and they needed to get back to the camp. His legs started pumping quickly, ignoring the dull throbbing pain in his ankles. Erik cupped his hands over his mouth and shouted. "Emalynn! Sean! James! Jenna!" Where were they? They couldn't be too far, but odds were they wouldn't be able to find their way back to the camp in the pitch black like this.

The light of his flashlight bounced up and down as he ran through the trees. "Emalynn! Sean! James! Jenna!" Where were they? Dammit! Erik weaved in and out of rows of trees. The temperature was rising and he needed to get back to the heart of the camp where it was safe. "Sean! Emalynn! Jenna! James!"

Alexandra stopped screaming for a moment when she smelled smoke. "Is that..?" It WAS! A forest fire! She wasn't particularly scared of fire, but she didnt want to die. "I should go." Alexandra turned to the way she came, thankful that the fire at least provided light for her to go by. Her adrenaline took over, and she just ran. Away fr the fire, away from all of it. She wasn't looking where she was going, when suddenly...

"Oof!" She cried out, tripping over a rock and landing hard on her elbows. "Oh son of a bitch!" She said, rubbing her elbows.

As Alex continued to explore, the smell of smoke caught his attention. At first he thought it was nothing and continued walking, that was when he noticed the smoke and fire rising in the distance. "Oh ****!" Forget the scavenger hunt, right now he was more focused on getting out if the forest alive. With a quick turn, he took off running away from the flames and hopping he was heading somewhere outside the forest.

Off in the distance, Quentin thought he heard something. Hmm, sounded like a distant stomach growl. He hadn't been around wild animals much, but that was something he easily recognized as a bear's roar. He smelled the smoke not too later after he heard the roar. He didn't panic, but gathered up their meager findings and turned to the others, "We should probably get going. This is looking pretty bad."

Quentin looked down at the trail that they were incidentally on, still in the Sky Woods and began to head in the adjacent direction of the roar and smoke. He wondered how the fire started and if the bear had anything to do with it. An agitated animal? Maybe it was one of the campers. Either way, he had never been in this kind of situation before . . . He began to break the forest, hoping his companions were following, towards the Circle.

Sophie had half-expected some sort of retaliation from Toni, but no such thing came, and she was a little let down that her source of amusement died out. After looking through the tree house and coming out, the smell of burning wood and leaves hit her nostrils. Someone had a camp fire out here? Then there was a roar. "Ah, a bear," she murmured, registering that this was a bad situation, "Come on, Sammy, time to leave."

She quickly scaled the ladder down and dropped to the ground, pulling her flashlight from her pocket again and then making her way to the edge of the forest. One of the wooden planks had nicked her on the leg, and now it was bleeding, but she was more concerned for her own life. Forest fires had happened before, but they still weren't that great.

As she ran, wondering if the others were smart enough to follow, a set of other running steps set in time with her on her right, and she looked to see . . . Quentin? It looked like he hadn't noticed her, but they were in the same part of the forest for some reason. Eventually, they both broke into the clearing of the Camp Circle and away from the forest.

"No, no, no!" Bryan cried, suddenly feeling so tired, "C'mon, we've gotta get out here -- this way!"

He so badly wanted to pick up Elisa and hold Richie's hand, but his energy was running low, and he still had to run his way out of the forest. He couldn't believe it, a fire, here! Who started it? Someone always started it . . . He hoped that the Camp leaders were already on the situation -- they seemed to handle things like these pretty well, but Bryan found that he never did too good under pressure . . . They would all be okay, right?

As he ran, a thought popped into his mind -- "Noëlle?!" he called out with heavy worry, weaving around the trees. Was she near, far? Already out of the forest? Oh god, he should probably look for her! C'mon Noëlle, I know you can make it . . . ! he thought as he ran into the Camp Circle and away from the forest edge.

Success! Julius had found something inside the tree and to his delight he found a wonderful ringpop inside the tree. He questioned where that certain candy had gone, but Julius merely shrugged his shoulders and placed the candy bling on his hand. He wondered what else he would find next. He questioned whether or not the other two found anything, but something was amiss and Julius narrowed his eyes.

The smell of smoke reached his nose and the dark scenery began to brighten a bit. This was definitely not and kind of good sign and they needed to move now. The game could screw itself for all he cared, they needed to get out before anything terrible occurred. The situation wasn't bad at the moment, but he knew that this was definitely change in a mere moment. This truly felt familiar...

"We need to get out of the forest...NOW!" Julius said as he glanced out in the forest. He noticed Alex had already gone off for his escape in the distance, but he had no idea about Aislin and Allen "OI AISLIN! ALLEN! GET YOUR ASSES MOVING AND LET GET THE HELL OUT OF THIS FOREST NOW!" Julius yelled out as he looked over at Adrian and gave him a look ordering him to leave now before he head off and got out of the forest

Alice stood there, frozen to the spot, as fire blazed around her and she faced the back of a tremendous beast. The monster wasn't looking at her though, it was staring at Noey! Alice had to act, and while it wasn't the brightest idea, she took up a rock in her hand and threw it with all her strength at the bear. As soon as she had done this, she hoped it had diverted its attention long enough for Noelle to get away. She tried to circumvent around the bear, but all at once, a burning log crashed down in front of her with a wild thrash! She stared at its blazing bark for a moment as she made her way to the other side of the encircling blaze, finding just one path open to her. She took it with all due speed.

She didn't know how far the fire went or how quickly it was burning, but she knew she had to get out of there soon; at her height, smoke was getting more easily into her lungs to the point she had to run headlong and nearly blind, coughing and hacking all the way. She didn't hear any munching of any sort to accent the crackling wood all around her, but the latter sound was so overbearing, Alice couldn't be sure if her attack had taken effect.

Veering right, she came into a clearing of grass with trees all around; most of them were ablaze, and it lit up her eyes with the most terrifying and spectacular brilliance. It was almost as bright and as warm as day... But she saw no way out just yet.

Just then, she felt a prick on her forearm, then another on her leg. She gazed down in alarm as flames started to take to the grass and encompass around her feet. "No!" She screamed out in agony, but the pain was too much; too excruciating. She fell, and right into the tongues of fire surrounding her. It wasn't long before they embodied her, and swallowed her whole as she closed her tearful eyes. The warmth of day had come for her, so maybe there was peace in that. No more hurt. No more her.

"Fire!" Shouted Jenna from the treetops. "Fire!" She reiterated as she clamored down, lost her footing and found herself falling past branch after branch, feet from the ground. When she was sure gravity would have her before the flames did, a pair of massive forearms broke her fall and she blindly felt herself rushing forward. When she opened her eyes, there was Sean, speeding through thickets of branches; charging without thought. Already, he had a few scratches here and there as branches hit his huge frame, but still he pressed on, carrying Jenna all the way until he found himself to a clearing with a fire, but a bonfire; manmade. They had made it back to camp, and it was only then that Sean let Jenna down to run on her own. Apparently, in their trek, they had already wandered back closer to the camp. 'Lucky kid' Sean thought of Jenna's chosen directions.

"Don't run to the cabins just yet, unless the fire gets closer. Stay where there's a lot of dirt." He commanded. "I'm going to stay with you, don't worry." He said, even though he worried too.

Meanwhile, Sebastian had been separated from Shouta and damned himself for having chosen to do so. It was just that he wanted to be by himself, but now Shouta was probably all alone! He thought about his grevious sins equal to betrayal as he closed in on the camp. There, he saw Sean comforting Jenna, who was sobbing madly. "Erik. KOFF. Emalynn, and James." Her sweet child voice could only manage names that spoke strongly with love. Were those tears in Sean's eyes? Amidst the chaos, Sebastian could only see things getting worse.

For Stratana, she rushed as she head for a nearby river. Panicking and not knowing which way to go, at least the fire was not encroaching too close to the waterside. She chose the way it was flowing, remembering a body of water somewhere within the camp. Sure enough, that was where she found herself; back in camp and close to the showers once again. She broke down and tried to catch her breath. She had been running purely on adrenaline, and without any thought popping into her head. She only thought of how thankful she was for still being alive and how much she missed the time she'd been stuck in the peaceful shower, of all things. Things had gotten far too crazy for comfort.

Allen had not made it deep into the forest before the smell of smoke reached his nostrils. Shouting was heard in the distance and an adult came running by. "You there! Get back!" They shouted. The leader was guiding some other students but had turned around, probably rushing back to find the rest. With these pieces it was not hard to figure out what was happening and so he turned and ran, making his way back to the cabins in no time.

From the tree house it was easy to see the horizon. Such a sight would have been lovely if it were not for the red in the distance. Turning she shouted back to Sophie, hoping her voice would carry over to Toni as well, along with whoever was near by. "Fire!" She started climbing back down, letting go of the ladder half way to drop on her feet. Her knees bent but a moment was still taken for the shock to wear off. Good thing she was a total slob at least. That allowed her to recover quickly and start running in towards the water. The island was surrounded by it so anyway would lead to it, she just hoped she remembered correctly and went the fastest route.

The twenty-one year old perched himself on a tough branch as he looked down at his troopers who were now conversing and probably thinking of a plan. He scratched the back of his head as he watched them from above. He kind of wish he gave them more of a plan to work with because as of the moment, they didn't seem to be moving or going anywhere. He cleared his throat and yelled to them, "If you guys want to win, you gotta get moving!" his tone was still as chipper as ever making what he said sound more of a casual suggestion then an order.
The didn't seem to be listening though, so he let out a sigh but kept his constant smile on and leaped down. He miscalculated his jump and kind of fell more than gracefully going down - he did land on his feet however, but a sharp pain surged on both of his ankles as he landed. He let out a sharp moan before straightening up to face his students. His eyebrows furrowed at the pain but he put a smile on his face anyway. "Come on guys! Where is your energy! We've gotta get pumped up and have lots of fun! How are we going to be the Best cabin without any energy! Smile, guys!" As he spoke, he shook his troopers lightly as he grabbed their shoulders - trying to shake the energy out of them. As he placed his hands on Pierce's shoulders though, he felt shaking already. He bent down to look at her in eye level and noticed that her expression was one that was really anxious and scared. The skin that his fingers were touching was also very cold and her teeth waas chattering. HE gave her a gentle smile before he straightened up and handed her his grey jacket. He placed it over her shoulders as it should be worn.
Before he could say a word to Pierce and continue talking to the group, a crackling sound could be heard from the distance. He blinked for a moment and turned to where it was coming from as he stepped back to face it. His ankle surged with pain as he did but he stepped down at it and simply braced the pain. A faint light could be seen from a far, was another cabin nearby? They'd have to be more cautious then and probably should start hunting for things. However, the crackling got louder and the light grew brighter - crackling? That wasn't the sound of footsteps...
Suddenly, he saw the dancing of flames from afar. There was a fire. There was a fire. They were in the forest and there was a fire. The fire in a forest. FOREST FIRE! His mind kind of went blank for a moment. Then, probably like how the fire had started, Tucker leaped to face his troopers. He placed a hand on their backs, Pierce and Brent, "Run. Run. Don't look back. Stick together. RUN!" he pushed them slightly and the group ran quickly. His ankles were screaming at him to stop but he knew that wasn't an option. He ran along with them, making sure he saw four heads as they ran with none disappearing. The fire was spreading so fast. This was bad. This was so bad. They had to get out now.

THERE'S a STIRRING INSIDE of ME.

Pierce looked around nervously. They never even really got to the whole searching thing. Their cabin had spent more time standing around then doing anything else. That was fine in the aspect that she wasn't as scared, but at that rate they would never find anything.

Dark blurs ran past her in the night and Pierce jumped with a shriek of fear. Her hand unconsciously reached out and clutched Quentin's shoulder. Her heart hammered in her chest and blood pounded in her ears. There was lots of shouting now for how far north they had gone. Were there a bunch of teams up here? Were they all being tagged? She let go of the brown-haired boy and shined her light in the direction people were running. She thought she saw something high above the trees, but the sky was too inky black to know for sure. We should probably get going. This is looking pretty bad. She raised a brow in the dark and looked over at the boy she had grabbed.

R-right. As they began to move quickly, she heard a loud roar. Roar? Her eyes shifted back and forth nervously in the dark, following the glow of her flashlight. Smoke began to burn her throat and fire lit their way ahead. A forest fire?! Quentin broke out in a running stride, clearly headed in the direction of the Circle. Pierce's heart slammed up and down in her chest much harder than before as she began running after him. It was a good thing she had changed. Leaves and twigs crunched under her shoes and the light was bouncing every which way. It was hard to see and something smacked her face. A burning sensation stung her cheek bone and something warm and liquidy ran down her cheek. The smoke was growing thicker and her hand flew up to her throat. It was hard to breath and her eyes burned as they broke through the thick tree lining.

She could see the clearing ahead. The muscles in her legs burned. Pierce had never been an athletic one, but she wasn't necessarily out of shape either. That was a blessing. She was panting hard and her hands were trembling. The warm liquid still trailed down her cheek and she had to blink back tears furiously.

Given the current situation at hand and the lack of skill needed for this situation that he was in, Alex had little choice but to run as fast as his legs would take him. Even if he wanted to go back and help, that would stop the fire from spreading. Which would only decrease his chances of getting out if this mess alive. All he could do for everyone else was to hope that they made it out safely. With the speed his fear was giving him, he managed to get back to the cabins before something got worse.

" AND SO IT BEGINS... "

Erik couldn't seem to find his campers anywhere. They better be back already. He shook his head furiously as he doubled back in the direction of the camp. He was having a hard time breathing now. This was much worse than having a cigarette or two. Erik coughed violently. He had to stop running for a moment in order to catch his breath. "Sean! James! Emalynn! Jenna!" he called out to his campers one last time. There was no reply and the flames seemed to be brighter--closer--now.

He straightened out and extended his legs, long and full. Erik sprinted through the trees and lunged over a burning log on the ground. The heat of the fire seared his skin and he cut across a patch of free dirt until he came to the southern part of the forest and out into the clearing that was the camp. He squinted, eyes stinging, and was able to see Sean and Jenna already back at the Camp Circle safe and sound. Thank God, he thought. That only left Emalynn and James. His eyes darted from face to face. None were the pair he was looking for. Fear and guilt welled up inside him.

"Emalynn! James!" he shouted across the camp. Erik came running up to Sean and Jenna and started pawing all over the small girl. "Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?"

She pulled away from him, covered in dirt. "I'm fine."

Erik breathed a sigh of relief then turned his attention to Sean, "Meathead, have you seen James and Emalynn? I haven't found them yet." His features were emotionless, but his voice was tense and laced with panic.

While running Sam tripped over something. After falling she looked back to see a wire across the top of her shoe. Now who the fuck put that there? Either way she stood back up, ignoring the burning pain in her knees and hands, and made it to the circle. This was hardly the place she had in mind, but hey, it seemed safe. And most of the others seemed there. Though her cabin students seemed missing. Muttering crap she turned and looked back to the trees, hoping to see them emerge soon.

Sean coughed, unable to speak for a minute.

"Don't call him "Meathead"! He saved me, Erik!" Small Jenna protested. Unfortunately, her reply sent her into a similar fits of hacking.

Sean backed away. He had done that... hadn't he? He wasn't really in charge of anything as far as mental capacity had been considered, but still, his feet had taken him and Jenna there. Though, he could say nothing for either Emalynn or James, and so Sean could only shake his head heavily at Erik. "No." He finally said.

Sebastian began retching nearby, the smoke and heat affecting his system to go absolutely haywire. Regrettably on his part, this happened just as Samantha dashed in, and happened to be in the general direction of her feet.

This is all my fault. This is all my fault. This is all my fault. I should go back, and ... and die! How am I going to tell everyone? What will Bryan think? Alice...Shit!

Several new thoughts all sharing the same tone pummeled her throbbing skull, causing distressed tears to well up in her eyes along with the ones made from the stinging smoke.

Thankfully, the sound of the bear had drowned out, but the crackling flames could still be heard -- devouring everything in their path. Her legs wouldn't stop pushing her forward, until she somehow caught a glimpse of bright blu--no, electric blue hair from beneath her.

What the hell are you doing? GET UP. There's a -- well -- I. Just.

Too overwhelmed to function, she grabbed the girl's hand and started jogging back towards the Camp Circle, her lack of breath finally catching up to her.

Students ran past her from the forest and her stomach turned, guilt spreading. Her eyes widened and scanned around for Bryan and her hand dropped Alexandra's like it had never been holding it. This was ... The screeching of a firetruck filled the area as it drove up from the shore of the lake, from a direction the campers were never allowed to go. With enough screaming to 'GET BACK', she did as she was told and wrapped her arms around her stomach.

It took her a few breathless minutes to gather herself before she turned on her heels to find Bryan. Panic flooded her system for several seconds before her wild eyes locked on him. Tears fell over her darkened cheeks and she ran from Alexandra to her unsuspecting brother, throwing her arms around his waist and crying out in relief.

Nothing needed to be said. Not now.
