Claire looked up, a neutral expression on her face, her fingers absently played with her iPod, running over the wheel and over to the headphone cord, twirled around her wrist. She'd been thinking... about everything that had happened so far today; she'd reached in her bag and taken the pills she was supposed to take before bed every night when Jaden was in the bathroom, but they weren't helping her yet.

"I..." she began quietly, trying not to feel bad that he was sitting on the floor. "It's just... hard, you know?" Claire sighed. "Every night... the only way I can go to sleep is by crying. My parents would get so upset because they would hear me; they were just worried the neighbors would be able to listen and wonder what was wrong. But... I would just ball until I was exhausted and pass out." She picked up one headphones and slipped it in her right ear. Claire had a playlist for nighttime, and the first, usual song played softly.

She drew her legs up to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. "I know we've both said this already," she whispered. "But this is odd... and I'm sorry. I feel like... if I could be better at talking and smiling and flirting... like all the other girls, you'd be more comfortable around me." Her eyes filled with tears, even though she didn't want them to. It's odd, having someone see me cry, Claire thought, blinking furiously.

"I want to be happy," Claire managed, her lips quivering to a tiny, pitiful attempt at a grin; it just looked like she was in pain. "I really do... and I'm sorry you're stuck here with me." Her thoughts clouded over, drowning her ability to speak, and she shut her eyes, a small sob escaping her lips. She wanted to apologize again, but couldn't; all she could do was cry.

    'Can't hold on much longer,
But I will never let go.
    I know it's a one-way track,
Tell me now how long this'll last...
I'm not gonna think this way,
Nor will I count on others.
Close my eyes and feel the burn...
Now I see what I've gotta do.
Open your heart and you will see...'

Jaden just listened to her as she spoke, him taking in every word.
...and the sounds of her sobs...
He stood up at last and sat next to her. This will either work awesomely or it will scare her for life and I'll have truly fucked up. he thought to himself... but his thoughts then actually slipped into speech.
"I've never had experience with girls... let alone a wife. I've always been alone, so I don't know what I should do in situations like this... But I can't just sit here and-
...I guess there comes a time in life where you just have to take a chance."
he muttered this quietly. Then he put a single arm out and bought it around her shoulders and pulled her into him close.
It wasn't an act of love or anything, so hopefully it wouldn't scare her by being too sudden. It was just an act of closeness and letting her know he was here for her. That he could be a shoulder for her to cry on.
He wasn't good at this stuff, but he continued his words. "We're together now right.. so you can rely on me. Just so you know."

He sighed to himself and continued, now about to be very open with what he was going to say.
He might have a hotstreak and sarcastic side to those he disliked... but, he didn't dislike Claire, and what's more he could be serious and kind when it counted. "My parents were similar... the way I am in the night due to my sleep problems. They just couldn't bare it I guess." he shrugged and then continued. "I want you to listen to me as I say this... You don't need to apologise. You talk fine. How can you be expected to flirt with a guy you just met? and lastly... Yeah, you aren't like any other girls. But that's good. We're all different in our own unique way. I wouldn't want you to be like 'any other girls'. That's how I view it.
And... if I'm completely honest. I'm already comfortable around you.
I've never been like this with anyone in my whole life. Never been able to. So you're doing fine... okay?"
he told her honestly. "I figure, it's not a bad thing that I'm stuck here with you. I guess... you, like me have felt loneliness for your whole life. Well... we're not alone any more now." he finished.
...No, he had one more thing to add. "I don't know what the future will bring, but... well, who knows how things'll go between us? No one knows the future...
I do know though that, if I can. I want to stop those tears, and I'll do what I can to make you happy. It doesn't matter that we've just met. We're in this together, married or not."

...Now he was done. He just sat there now, with his arm around her. Taking in the moment... even he had no idea where his words had come from. But they just felt right, and more surprisingly due to the fact that he'd never been in this sort of situation before. He with his usual attitude under normal circumstances shouldn't feel the need to care. But... he truly had meant every word as he had said them.

Claire froze, every muscle in her body tense, her tears even stopping; she wasn't sure what to do. Everything Jaden had said was foreign to her; no one had ever spoken about themselves to her, nor had anyone told her such kind words. It brought fresh tears to her eyes for some reason, because... she felt completely undeserving of his attention, let alone his affection. He has to have a reason, she thought, thoroughly confused. Everyone has to have a good reason to put themselves out there and say "you can rely on me" and "I'll do whatever I can to make you happy." That's just not something someone casually puts out to another person, especially a stranger. Or maybe they could; she didn't know. She couldn't understand it at all... but...

But... his embrace was warm, his touch comforting; another bunch of emotions she'd never felt and could now hardly understand. She didn't pull away, nor, when she thought about it, did she want to. Is this what normal people do? she thought suddenly. Just... sit, without words or actions or empty reassurances? Is this was helps people? Just silently knowing that, despite everything, you have someone else to just hold you and make sure you're alright? Why hasn't anyone done this for me before? I... I'm not even crying anymore.

Through everything she was feeling (her inexplicable sadness and tears, her confusion about her new husband, her betrayal by her family, her loneliness and isolation from any outside help) only one thought seemed to make sense. Claire focused on that, even though she was doubting it herself, even though she didn't see how she could come to this conclusion, but... she held onto the thought as she leaned into Jaden, wrapping one of her own, shaking arms around him:

This is where I'm supposed to be.

ooc; please forgive the following lazy post.

I want to thank him. I really do. But instead, I convince myself that I don't need to and that I've somehow earned this bed. He didn't have to sleep on the couch though...As I close the bed room door and make my way back to the closet, I figure now is as good a time as any to start packing away my stuff. I drag my bare feet against the cool wooden floor, surprised at the lack of creaking, and pry open the closet door.

There is something very interesting about this closet; it's very warm and comforting. It may even prove to be an effective calm-down zone. I tend to have those. Places where my anger—or whatever other feeling had invaded my soul at that moment–can't prevail. As I kneel down, unzipping my suitcase, and pulling out my clothes, a feeling of nostalgia hits me. I think of home. I don't feel like crying, so I hurry through my things until the closet begins to fill with the essence of me. Pretty things. Fashionable things. Fluffy things. Calming things.

A tinge of guilt hits me for a moment as I think of Cameron and where his crap is going to go, but I ignore it and press forward. He'll live.

Alyss took a deep breath, pulling herself from the closet after a change of clothes and crawling into bed. Her eyes were growing heavier and heavier by the moment, and it wasn't long until she had drifted off to sleep, the thoughts and worries of the day melting away into nothing but blackness and peace.

Sleep had very much become her escape. Well, one of them. It was the time right before bed and right after waking up that she felt most refreshed and calmed down. It was her favorite time of day.

'Kalista...I see. I like that name. It has a nice sound to it,' I thought as I laid the bags that I had carried into my new house down on the floor. The man who had driven me here walked in behind me holding the rest of my bags and asked where I would like him to put the luggage. With my attentions focused more on the girl, I just pointed in the direction of what he thought to be the living room and said "Over there."

As I looked at the girl and she stared back at me, I started to feel uneasy and tried to look away. Being stared at always made me feel like this. It felt like they were always looking for something wrong, another reason to call me insane. But looking closer, I could see that this girl was somewhat different. She looked scared or just without anything to say and couldn't help but stare. Who wouldn't be scared in this situation? I sympathize with her. And then I noticed how quiet the room was. The man had left and it was just the two of us. whole time, we had just stared at each other. I didn't know what to say and I guess the same applied to her. What do married couples do anyway? But I shouldn't overthink things. Come on Noah. SAY SOMETHING!

"So...that's a nice iPod. What are you listening to?"

Movement in the window caught his eye and a hand shot to his face. "I think I see her!" Ollie told his lawyer...and suddenly, the reality of the situation seeped in. "Oh no..." he quickly turned around and looked at his reflection in the window. Green eyes looked back, eying his short red hair and sharp facial features, they moved down to the red bowtie on his white shirt, carefully tucked into his jeans. "What if she doesn't like me, C.K.?" He asked his lawyer, who he considered his only true friend, by his initials.

"Nonsense, Ollie, who wouldn't like a champ like you?" C.K. said as he tapped Jimmy on the back with a smile. The lawyer felt bad for the young man. His parents were at their wits' end with Ollie, despite Ollie being quite manageable with his condition. It was the fact that that the rest of society didn't want to make an effort to cope with Ollie and insisted something was with him and that he was the one that needed to make an effort. All of the efforts failed and Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan decided to do away with Ollie. If C.K. hadn't intervened and found this study by pure luck, he wasn't sure where Ollie would be right now. "Here, I got something for you," he told his "friend" as he pulled something of his jacket. He paused to push his glasses back onto his nose. "It's a watch," he revealed a box, "But no ordinary watch...if's a signal watch." He gave Ollie, who had a curious smile on his face, the box.

"Like...a batsignal?" Ollie was ecstatic. C.K. knew Ollie was a huge comic book buff.

C.K. smiled and gave him the box. "Kind of. Whenever you're feeling down, just press the button on the side and relax. Think of your favorite hero and your favorite adventure and-"

    "AND?!"

"And close your eyes. See what happens, Ollie. Now come on, you have a bride to meet."

Ollie grabbed the box, smiling, and held it tight, but he didn't open it. He walked side by side to the front porch and -with the biggest smile he could muster- knocked on the door.
    "Honey! I'm home!"

Jaden just closed his eyes had he sat there contently with her holding onto him, and he, her. He wasn't sure where his next words came from either considering he wasn't sure if he believed in it.
"Hey, maybe us being put in this situation as outrageous as it may seem. It might be fate or something..." he sighed as he scratched his head, unable to believe that he was saying these words. "I mean, I guess this is where we're supposed to be." and unbeknownst to him, again he had just directly voiced something that was on her mind.
Maybe this did show that the two were compatible. Not that he believed in fate... but maybe this truly was something like that. Of course he was completely unaware of this and that he had just said something that would be really significant for her. He leaned his head gently against hers. At the moment, the two really did look like they were lovers. Like they were married.

"You-" Claire began, amazed that he'd said exactly what was in her head. Are we that similar? she thought suddenly. We can't be that in sync already...

She sighed, though, and paid attention to the next song that played softly in her ear, usually one that made her cry. The way things were right now, the cool blankets underneath her, Jaden's warm body next to her made her want to smile. Her father had first introduced this band to her, made her appreciate something that wasn't so mainstream.

The whole album is a story, Claire remembered him saying. It was one of the few times that he'd reached out and tried to talk to her, to be normal enough that she would hopefully accept and understand what he considered a proper moment. Remembering it now made her sad again: she hadn't replied to his outreach, nor had she even spoken to him. I just sat there and stared at the CD he'd handed me, a blank, melancholy look on my face, no reply or "thank you" or anything. I wanted to... I really did, but I couldn't. It was so much easier to just ignore him and let it go. She hadn't even wanted to listen to the damn thing at first but she did it anyway, and... surprisingly, she understood what her father was talking about.

Each song, in succession, told the story of two lovers: going from not being together, to figuring things out, to getting upset, to making things even better again... to an ending that could be taken either way: do they end up together? It's up to me, depending on how I look at it. This song, the eighth track, usually made her bawl like a child, but... now, she felt her lips rise in a small smile, and she shut her eyes.

Claire nodded against Jaden's chest, enjoying the way his soft shirt felt on her cheek, feeling the sleepy side-effect of her medication starting to bother her. "Yeah," she murmured, surprised how calm and soft her voice was; it didn't sound like her, but she didn't mind right now. "Thank you..."

    Jay Lavera

Jay nearly jumped out of her skin when Ollie knocked on the door and called out. Her family all awkwardly tried to get to their feet and answer the door but Jay practically ran past them, nearly knocking the lawyer down in her haste, to answer the door. His yell had, in an almost comical way, given her the confidence she needed. For one moment her hand rested on the door handle. That sick feeling flipped her stomache over again at the thought of her "friends" showing up at this important moment. She took a shaky breathe and threw the door wide open.

Oblivious to her family and their lawyer's attempts to become involved in the meeting, she stood stalk still and wide eyed. The man before her was not what she'd been expecting. He looked happy, if nervous, and was smiling at her. "I, I, I'm Jay." she stood in the doorway taking in her husband-to-be's form. "Welcome home?" she added in an attempt to match his enthusiasm. Her lips twitched into a smile which hid a small, nervous laugh. Stepping aside a bit to let him in, she reached out a hand to... what? shake his hand? or hold it? Her fhand dropped a fraction as confusion on how to act added to her mixed emotions.

Oh, he's looking away . . . I thought with a frown. He . . . did he not like me already? His eyes sort of darted back to me - no, that wasn't it, there was no contempt in his eyes. But he was looking at me and I was starting to feel slightly embarrassed, I could feel my face heating up again.

We're both scared. It's safe to say that, I know, and the room is silent and uncomfortable. I want to tell him something, tell him that we're going to make this work, be happy that he's similar to me, but then I want to tell him that I hate him and wish he would die. That's not nice of me. We're similar - I wouldn't wish for him to say that about me.

    Can we make this work?

    We can make this work.

"So . . . that's a nice iPod. What are you listening to?" I jumped slightly at the sound of his voice, and then processed the question, calming my nerves. Of all the things you could say, you ask about my music. But I can't help but laugh; it's not the best conversation starter, but it is a start. We can make this work.

I'm still laughing when I answer him, "I'm not listening to anything anymore," I told him, my hand covering my mouth and muffling my laughter slightly, "I turned it off."

    We can make this work.

I calmed down a little bit; I felt better after that, a good laugh was what I needed, "I . . . I guess we should head up to our room now?" My voice was small now.

"You're not Jay..." Ollie muttered with a shocked face. For a moment, they locked eyes and the world ceased to move as he realized that he was about to marry this girl, this stranger, this...this...this beautiful person. He quickly stepped forward and put his arms around her pulling her close. "You're beautiful, Mrs. Sullivan." He smiled with his eyes closed before asking aloud. "Where do I sign to make you mine?"
"Jesus, Ollie!" C.K. exclaimed, astounded at how fast Ollie moved in. "Give the girl some breathin' room, will ya?"

Jay's outstretched arm was crushed between them in Ollie's hug. The rest of her body stiffened in his arms as her mind reeled. What on earth was he doing? What was he saying? Mrs. Sullivan? For the breifest moment she just stood there, trying to figure out what he was thinking and then she giggled. It was a little cracked and nervous at first but turned into a rippling laughter which shook her whole body. "It's alright, sir." she soothed the lawyer, letting her free arm embrace Ollie gently, almost protectively. "Um... my families' lawyer has the paper for you. I already signed it." she directed to Ollie in a quieter voice, as he was very close. She was still hiccupping little laughs, but mostly could speak clearly again.

So far, so good. Even at her most vunerable--that is when she was shocked--no one else showed up. Maybe she could make it through the first night. Maybe...

He woke up early. A bit of darkness clung to the part where his cheeks and the bottom of his eyelids met. He rubbed his eyes while sitting up and almost said 'Where the **** am I?' before the events of the day before came flooding back too him. It was to much, for he flopped back down on to the bed. Throwing one arm over his forehead dramatically like a normal teenager. Sighing he calmed himself down and ignored the memories of yesterday. Stretching his stiff back because those couches were not meant for comfort.

Wearily he brought himself to his feet and began the quick and easy process of straightening up his makeshift bed. Since silence greeted him as he folded his blanket, he assumed she was sleeping or using the rest home. So he was surprised when she still there. The slumbering beauty. It almost stole his breath away. In fact, the site of her sleeping their peacefully did steal it away. He forced himself to breathe and keep moving. Whether she liked it or not, he was not going to put his clothes in another room. That was to much work he was not going go through. With that decided he stepped into the closet and placed his arm across his stomach and stacked his other arm's elbow against that so that his hand could hold his chin up as he spun in a slow circle to stare at his array of clothes. When he was not focusing on the physical problems of the day..a strange thing happened. He felt better about this situation. She seemed nice. She didn't punch him yesterday. Or yell at him and accepted his offer peaceably when he wanted to sleep on the couch. And so what if they were crazy. They got along pretty damn well with each other. Where as most humans drove each other crazy. It was strange, he didn't think positively truly about this predicament until stepped foot in here. Oh well, must be the sleep he'd gotten. Quietly he hummed to himself songs of the Vocaloid variety as he spun himself in that slow circle again, it was time to change.

"Superman, watch out!" Ollie yelled as he watched in horror. He stood on the sidewalk, outside of his new home, as the Man of Steel himself, clad in signature blue tights and red cape, was going toe-to-toe with a large robot. The robot matched the superhero for every hit. "Come on, Supes! You can do it!" The red-headed fan yelled as he watched Superman rear his head back and fire his laser vision. "Yeah! Like that!" His green eyes filled with glee stared as Superman's attack was met with the robot's own laser vision. "Oh no..." Ollie braced himself as the laser visions met in front of him, making a ball of pure heat. He could feel the resonating heat, almost burning his skin, despite the distance. Without warning, the ball exploded and Ollie was sent flying into a building and everything went black.

"Ugghh," Ollie groaned as he opened his eyes, expecting the pain to hit his body like a truck, but his body felt great, or at least refreshed. He looked up, and saw the ceiling of his new home. He yawned and rolled over.
    Thud!

And then he hit the floor. "Ouch!" He yelped, standing up quickly. "Superman?" He asked, looking around the living room. He remembered now, he had decided to fall asleep on the couch for the first night. It was still too soon for him to think about laying with Jay. But that was right before the robot attacked and Superman showed up. But now the Man of Steel was gone. Ollie looked down at the watch C.K. gave him. It was early morning, much earlier than it was when he laid down.

Jay heard a loud thump and a voice causing her to bolt upright out her sleep. She looked around to find an unfamilar room: her new bed room, or rather her and Ollie's new bedroom. Glancing to her right and saw the other side of her bed was undisturbed. She bit her bottom lip and smoothed her hand over the blankets, wondering if she was happy Ollie had been a gentleman or if she wished he'd fallen asleep next to her. Shaking the thoughts from her mind, she slid out of bed and walked down stairs to see what had caused the noise.

"Ollie?" Her voice surprised her by being small and even shaky. She didn't know the house yet and was afraid Ollie had hurt himself. "Are you okay?" she walked into the living room and flipped on a light switch, illluminating his fallen figure on the floor and his watch announcing the time. The bright light so early in the morning caused her to squint as her eyes adjusted.

"Who the blazing hell are you?" His deeper tones boomed out of Jay's lips, a striking contrast from her previous question. His stance shifted from soft, almost tip toeing through the house, to tromping into the living room and glaring down at Ollie. Jay's body, in her night gown, didn't really suit the heavy, masculine posture He was standing in. His brain started to register that this house was not home. And the rest of the family wasn't present. What the hell had Jay gotten Him into?!

ooc; Gonna play around for a bit to give you guys a bit more time to develop something, because as soon as Alyss goes into that closet, the adventure begins. :')

I wonder if he knows I can hear him. He may not be trying to be, but he's loud as hell. I can hear the ruffling and creaking of the older floorboards of the closet. And what is he doing in there to begin with? It's my closet, I claimed it as soon as I had a mental breakdown in there and put my clothes away. How is he going to sleep downstairs and then try to steal the TAKEN closet away from it's owner? But I'm too tired to get up right now. I'm just going to lay here for a bit longer and nuzzle into the warm pillows below.

Just for a few more seconds...

    ...Minutes.

Mmkay. I feel refreshed enough. Maybe. He's still digging around in there. Maybe I should stop him.

    ...Maybe not.

    > Sleeps.

When morning came, Shane expected to go through his usual routine. He lay their in bed until someone came into his room and woke him up. When nothing happened he remebered his new life. That's right, I'm married. Deciding that it would probably be better if he didn't tick his new wife on the second day, he got out of bed and got dressed.

Now dressed and ready, Shane walked towards the door before stopping in front of in. He began to wonder what his new life was going to be like. Would it be peaceful or a living nightmare. These thought continued to run through his head until he grabbed the door knob. He wasn't going to find any answers in here. Opening the door, he exited his room. The answer to his question were certainly waiting for him.

Ollie bounced away, startled to near-death. "Jay? Pretty Jay?" He asked, timidly. He had at first been happy to hear his new wife's voice. In fact, maybe she had seen Superman. But this...her attitude and her tone, even her question, it wasn't the Jay he had so quickly become attached to. "You don't remember me?" He asked, his eyes starting to sting.

ooc; If you haven't posted yet since the restart, please do. >: I'm literally writing nonsense to help keep it alive this time until everyone is ready to go to the other world. xD

So I've figured out my options. I can either lay here in bed for a while longer and like, sleep and crap. Or I can get up and stop him from invading and molesting my closet. I don't necessarily want to do either of these things, but I feel doing something is better than laying her sprawled out on my bed for that freak to see. Wait a minute...

Oh gross, he's seen my morning hair. At least he hasn't gotten a good look at my face yet. Unless he spent some time staring at me before deciding to rape the insides of MY closet, which is nauseating. Oh GOD what if that's WHY he's in my closet? Did he...Is he sniffing through my stuff or something?

Oh god oh god what do I do that is so gross--he is so gross. I think I'm going to cry--

No. CALM DOWN. ALYSS YOU'RE A BRAVE, STRONG, INDEPENDENT, BEAUTIFUL, INTELLIGENT, YOUNG AND VIBRANT GIRL THAT COULD KICK THAT GINGER'S ASS.

    Mmm, I am pretty, aren't I?

    That's not the point.

Get up, or don't get up? Ahh~ ...

He stepped back, equally startled by Ollie's responce. "No I don't remember you. God damn that woman!" He suddenly raged, turning away from Ollie. "Where the hell did she land us this time? A god-dammned loony bin again?!" He balled His fists and shot another angry, blunt glare at Ollie. "Ah man, don't you go crying like a lil' girl. I'm just as confused as you are. Who are you? Where am I? Where's that brother of her's? I bet it's all his fault. 'Always is!" He flopped down into a chair, letting His legs and arms lay like a man on the comfy furniture in an almost comical way. Again his gaze fell on Ollie. "Well get off the floor ya moron and tell me what the hell's happening." As he finally settled down enough to watch Ollie, he felt the familar stirring in the back of his mind which told him he wouldn't have his answers just yet, and opened his mouth to swear once more.

"Fu---..." Jay clamped her mouth shut on the word. At the same time her legs shot together in a much more lady like manner. "Oh no..." she moaned, hiding her face in her hands as if by not looking at her husband, he couldn't see her.
