And your qualifications?

...Come again? I apologize.

Your qualifications, Mr. Weldon. What do you believe makes you a good fit for this position?

Yes, of course, my qualifications...I am...I am excellent with time management, and I have exceptional leadership skills.

...Mr. Weldon, those are wonderful traits to have, but do you--and please forgive me if I am incorrect--do you have any idea what job it is that you're applying for?

...Some dental assistant position, right?

Tell us why you're here, Mr. Weldon.

I am here...because my father feels as though I should get a job and experience work. I honestly do not see a purpose. It feels that all we are here on this earth to do is work and die. We are born so that we can go to school, so that we can go to more school, so that we can get a good job in the future...So that we can work and support not only ourselves but any spouses or children we may have...so that they can study and work, et cetera, basically until we die--unless we are one of the lucky ones born to the privileged white scum that run this country.

M-Mr. Weldon!

Oh, I am... sorry. Pardon me. I have not slept in quite a while. I must be out of it. Yes, about the position. My qualifications, correct?

...That is all we will be needing, Mr. Weldon. Please remove yourself from our office.

Right, right...

It was funny how quickly he seemed to ruin things. Often, everything would go just fine, and then after one sudden outburst or lack of judgement-- snap! Just like that, here he was back out into the cold. Well, enough was enough! No more interviews and no more jobs, ever. He would just have to find a lonely privileged broad someday and settle down. There were many of them, he was sure. Could he really live a life like that...? Pretending to be in love to a most likely clingy, over-zealous daddy's girl? If it meant seclusion from the rest of society then maybe.

He blinked his ever-glaring emerald eyes for a long moment. They burned. Ever since that email he hadn't been getting very much sleep at all. Every day that past seemed like a nightmare waiting to happen; and while he was waiting for everything to go to hell, the mundane activities of everyday life seemed so much more pointless. It was the strangest thing, but he actually believed the email right upon reading and registering it's words. It was almost perfect, outside of the no suicide rule. This email was a most excellent excuse to stop giving a fuck.

Long fingers fidgeted against dark denim jeans in an attempt to increase blood flow as he waited impatiently for his cab to arrive. Jesus it was cold! It would be snowing soon, wouldn't it? Surprising that it hadn't really started up yet. One of the primary reasons for such a long winter break at the Academy was winter accident prevention. It was a wise decision, too. People in this town were stuck up and arrogant. The teenagers who attended often tried to be 'adults' by indulging in reckless behavior. Theodore referred to this as Immortality Syndrome. The belief that there is such a thing as being 'too young to die'.

The cab arrived and the teenager climbed into the leather backseat. The car smelled of some sort of Teriyaki and activated mild hunger pains. His head leaned back into the stale cushions behind him and his eyes stared blankly out of the window. He took in the frosty streets of Brookridge. When he had first headed out here barely any cars were driving about...It was somehow drastically different now, to the point of traffic. It must have been later than he thought it was when he left the dorms. A quick glance at his cellphone confirmed this. 4:03pm already. Ouch. He sunk further into his seat with a glare towards the meter just past the filthy clear plastic separating him and the quiet taxi man.

It was not long from then that they arrived at the front gates of hell. Theodore reluctantly paid the stranger with no words exchanged and entered the school grounds. Immediately, his mood went from one of indifference to one of pure annoyance. Everything was so loud, and it school wasn't even in session! Why was everyone so rowdy?

...Hunger.

He could wait, though. His dorm mate Marcus was having some sort of pizza party that he could mooch off of...Though he would have preferred something healthier. Marcus was a scrawny, but attractive, little black kid who he hadn't spoken much with. Theodore may not have known much about him (or tried to know much), but he figured he had some kind of dark past involving gang violence and an imprisoned father, so he treated him with respect.

With slow, lazy strides he made his way to the Faculty of Student Life building and straight to the only room with lights on. How he had managed to get permission to do this while barely anyone was still on campus astounded him...But who could say no to a surely suffering black kid? A smile played on his lips for just a moment but then it vanished. Ah, sometimes he was too much for himself. Too funny. He entered the room quietly and set his eyes on the chocolate hued boy.

Marcus. Has the pizza arrived?

His voice was low and much blunter than he had intended, but it got the job done.

xxxxxHeidi sat on Altair's bed staring blankly at the box in her hand. The sheet paper with Harley's phone number rested beside her as remained cross-legged on top of the duvet. Altair was gone by the time she returned so she couldn't ask about the ludicrous suitcases filled with expensive items. The old man had to have bought her more clothes. There was definitely more than what she had seen at the house a few days ago. There were other objects too-- accessories, hygiene products, and...well, and this. The sticky note was still attached to the box, no matter how many times she read it, she couldn't believe it was for her.

xxxxxthe skirt of her yellow dress billowed out around her, concealing her legs as they were folded up neatly underneath. Her hair dried in a wavy mess atop her shoulders, and she occasionally glanced up at the door; anticipating Altair's entrance-- it never came. Where was he? How was she supposed to set this up on her own? Confusion was plastered blatantly all over her face.

xxxxxnervously, she lifted open the lid of the box, anticipating one of those gag snakes to jump out or something. Inside, there was no snake, just a shiny black new touch screen phone. She had only used a cell phone a handful of times, and always aunt Stacey's. Stacey had some ancient Nokia phone that seemed relatively indestructible. She liked playing Snake on it.

xxxxxHer fingers lightly wrapped around the device and lifted it from it's chamber. Pressing a button on the side, it lit up. it's already on? there were a half dozen icons on the main screen and she furrowed her brow in further confusion. How on earth was she supposed to work this? If Altair was here...where was he? She hadn't seen him since she left the room yesterday. Maybe Harley could teach her. At the thought of him, her face flushed a bright red. She fell asleep in his room last night. He tucked her into bed, after ridding her body of the extra layers, she ran quietly out the door before he awoke this morning. Heidi didn't even put all the other clothes back on, she just tucked everything under arm, shoes included, and scurried back to Altair's room-- too embarrassed. She had expected to the silver-haired one still sleeping, but he was already gone.

xxxxxshe managed to open the contacts window and see two numbers already in place. Not understanding how to add an additional number, she decided to try and call Altair. Pressing his name, then the green phone key, she held it up to her ear. Straight to voicemail. That was no good. Heidi waited for the beep then began to speak in almost a whisper. "hi...um, Altair? I-it's Heidi. Y-you're grandpa...he uh...seems to have bought me a phone. So this is the number. S-sorry I didn't come back last night. I was with Harley and uh...fell asleep. C-call me back...okay?" the phone clicked as she hung up and held it tightly to her chest. Falling back on the bed, Heidi let her head hit the pillow and stared blankly at the ceiling.

The next day Allison woke up somewhat late again. This bed was just too comfortable. Far too comfortable. And before she knew it it was almost noon. All right all right come on now get up. You only have 3 hours left before meeting Harley. Not to mention that video game party. Guess he should come along too. I wonder what games they'll have... she thought as she slowly and reluctantly rose out of bed and changed pants. She was wearing another white turtleneck and jeans as she again tried to be quiet as she put on her red coat/paperthin jacket to get brunch. She had a sandwich and then began to walk to the Heliocanthea. By this point it was nearly 3PM. Allison hoped he hadn't arrived there earlier than her, but she also hoped they'd be able to get to the video game party on time. If not, that was fine too, but it'd be pretty cool to be on time. She briefly wondered if that guy she had mistook for Harley on tumblr would also be there. Maybe not since he didn't know what Persona was but had Persona music. "Hee." she smiled as she arrived at the garden once more. Harley wasn't there. Well all right. I'm slightly early, but might as well text him anyway. She texted him again

I'm here now.

Previous text for convenience from yesterday: Already there.

Allison wondered what he had to tell her. This was probably the first time they would actually talk about his mysterious past and family. He didn't really need to know much about her family. He probably already drew a few of his conclusions the few times he saw her parents. Her mother was crazy. But maybe not as crazy as his family. I hope venting helps him. I'll safeguard all his secrets.

Marcus was there hours before it started and he helped with everything. He had to do something with the amount of nervousness and soda that made sure he had a nice healthy energy boost at the slightest convience. He helped wheel the TV's in on the carts. Eight. Two for each wall, and then he helped plug in the games(all of differing varieties), configure the channels and remotes for each T.V. He hoped someone would appreciate the old video game consoles, after all, they were the starters that took video games off the ground. He put two long tables together, in the center of the room and had the volunteer's move about and gather black markers so that he could mark the pizza's by name when they arrived. He hated flipping open random boxes to see what pizza was in which box.

The massive amounts of pizza were organized and stacked by whatever was on them from anchovi's to meat lovers and those weirdo's who liked hot fruit(like pineapple) on their pizzas. A team was disignated to mark the boxes and another team was disignated to stack a fresh box ontop of the marked one. This was very efficient until a boy named James dropped a box he was about to stack. Marcus narrowed his clear colored eyes and pointed to the door. There were no **** up's on Marcus' squad. Hmph. Moving on was simple, he'd chosen to buy canned sodas and juices for all and place them into two large coolers found near the edge's of the two tables. Two coolers on each end, each cooler holding a can and ice combo that would have the drinks cold by the time anyone arrived. It was tricky almost, ordering that amount of pizza and having it arrive at a time it'd be kept warm throughout the wait it'd take for anyone to arrive. Paper plates, napkins and cups were scattered throughout the tables and after that he didn't want to place another thing on the table, so he shifted his focus to the chairs, simply placing them in a half circle around the two T.V.'s while frowning when he didn't set up a station for PC gamers. Ah well, there was always next time. But now it was time for some music. A mass music playing device had to be found and soon the radio's holiday music was playing. Which was temporary until the party started at least.

Marcus soon heard a voice after he finished with what he assumed was everything, turning around in a bit of surprise he saw his roomate. The dark haired boy was nice enough, but sometimes Marcus felt as if he was going to ask him to smoke pot with him or something. What was his question again? Oh, pizza. "Yep, any pizza you can eat. Well almost, there wasn't enough table to go around." Marcus grinned and began to show off the labeling system he'd set up for the pizzas. "You're kind of the first one here...well, aside from the few people who helped," Marcus paused to turn to another boy before that boy could sit down, "Could you go get James? I trust him to play games, just not missions." The boy frowned not at the question, but at the word missions, Marcus stared him down blankly before turning a smile to Theodore, biting his lip soon after because he voiced his thoughts and said, "You don't think this party's dumb, so no one will come, right?"

Yesterday had been wasted away with sleep and video games, though that hardly made it a bad day. In fact, it would have been perfect if it were not for the worry of his still out of it room mate and the uncertainty of how to move on in the game. It was really stressful and stress was not something the boy handled well.

A longer, happier respite felt needed so when he saw a flyer for a party he had decided to go there in hopes of unwinding enough to get his brain working again. And perhaps he could even run into Nora again, or at least Cherno. Oh, speaking of.

Wiping out his phone he brought up his contacts to send a text to said Mr. Logical.

Once sent his mismatched eyes looked up to meet the door of said party room and after pocketing his phone he entered. And once inside he was rather impressed with the set-up. How did one even get so much pizza?

"Hey," he greeted those already inside as he made his way for a plain cheesy slice for his stomach could not wait through introductions as it was. Oh, coolers too! A coke would be nice, so he went looking for one. After finding one he looked towards one of the tvs, amazed at how there was eight of them. They weren't stolen, were they? "Oh, is that a 64? I haven't played one in weeks."

xxxxxxxxxx Kallisti had left her room early that morning, despite her desire to speak more to Cristina. When she had opened her eyes, she had been on the edge of the bed, dangerously close to hitting her head on the nightstand. That sleep had been ridiculously and painfully restless, even though she hadn't woken since she first closed her eyes. All of the issues with sleeping were coming as of late. For a little while, before, she thought perhaps it had just been the stress of school - and that was what she had said to Melissa so that the woman would leave her alone.

This accursed game, that e-mail . . . They only contributed to her continuous awful sleeping manner.

With her hands bundled into each other on the cold afternoon, Kallisti continued to sit on the bench and stare ahead into the distance. She thought, if anywhere, the Heliocanthea would be a suitable place to find some peace. There were only so many people around, and they were doing other things, and not bothering her. Very nice indeed . . .

She laid her head back and let out a breath which she could see. It was colder than usual, today . . .

xxxxxxxxxx The tall boy stood at the entrance of the Heliocanthea and sighed for what was probably the hundredth time this afternoon. Heidi had been gone when he woke up this morning, no message, no note, just . . . gone. Harley was a little hurt by the fact, but she must have been worried because she didn't remember falling asleep in his room. He wondered where she had gone off to.

As he walked into the gardens, Harley's creamy, almost blind-looking eyes glanced at the watch on his wrist. Almost three o'clock; Alli wasn't known for being late, so she was probably here already . . . The question was, where? The Heliocanthea was such a large garden that he wouldn't even know where to start. Just after twenty minutes of walking around, he found two people: Gillian and Kallisti. He wasn't really surprised to see either of them here, and was actually tempted to talk to his cousin, but he did have to keep his date with Alli - to her, he could talk to about his problems that he'd rather Kallisti not know of.

Not too long after finding his cousin, there was Allison, sitting on a bench, waiting for him. Had she been waiting long? He rubbed the back of his neck, just as he always did when a pang of guilt hit him.

" Hey, Alli, " he called out to her, halfheartedly, " Sorry if I kept you waiting . . . " Suddenly, he was tired. Sure, he was going to tell her what she wanted to know, but all of these secrets could come tumbling out at once, if he gave them long enough. They were weighing heavy on his shoulders. He took a seat next to his friend, rather close, and looked at her again, " So, what did you want to know, again? "

OOC- Lols. Casual funeral. XD Also FUZZY. B| Hawaiian pizza is good all right? Pineapples and ham man. Pineapples. And ham.

While Allison was waiting for Harley to get here at 3, she had just seen Quintus and was about to go over there to talk, when Harley arrived at that moment. Well maybe she'll be at the video game party. She thought as she smiled a small smile at Harley. What did she want to know? More like what did he want to tell. "Well, DUDE. Weren't you the one who said you needed someone to talk to during the random trip here that suddenly turned into an extended stay?" she asked daring to look at him a bit more closely. She tended to never really look anyone in the face during conversations. Most times because she was too short and ended up staring at their neck or chest or just the ground. Loyal fantastic ground. Good old ground. He looked a bit more troubled than she did. He probably had more serious problems to deal with than she did. All she had was loneliness. Who knew what he was dealing with. "Well to narrow it down some, how 'bout we start with the train ride. What exactly happened since I missed it? Your mood seemed to have plummeted on the second text." Looking back at where Quintus was sitting a distance away in the garden, almost hidden by some bushes and trees, Allison wondered how awkward it would be if she noticed their sort of private conversation. I'm actually surprised she didn't notice me first. She seems to be like me in that way. Noticing people first. Sometimes. Maybe she's just pretending she didn't. I guess we're still awkward in that way and not really friends. Well, maybe I'll get a second shot at the party. Oh the party. Her face brightened a bit as she remembered the party. "Oh before you start, there's a party today in an hour or two. I say that because I forgot the time....and the place. Now that I think about it, but I'm sure we could find a flyer or something. Okay do continue." she finished with a smile.

xxxxxxxxxx Allison began to speak and Harley almost missed the first part of what she said. " Memory, failing . . . " he let out, almost hoping that the words were only in his mind; being vulnerable in public was not something he liked, but he was so tired . . . " I don't remember telling you that, but you're probably right. " he continued, looking forward. He almost didn't have the guts to tell Allison what she wanted to know even if she did ask . . . Apart from others, she was his only friend, the functional one of the two of them and . . .

He sighed, Allison mentioned the train ride here those days ago. Habitually, his hand went to the back of his neck; he really didn't wanna think about that anymore, but if she wanted to know . . . " It wasn't anything big, " he shrugged with a lighter tone, " I just got a little ticked because someone said something they shouldn't have . . . " There was always the thought in the back of his mind, since that had happened, the one that wouldn't rest; was Heidi still mad at him for that? " You know my temper . . . it can be a real rocket, sometimes . . . "

Was it a good idea to mention what Heidi had said? It would relate to Kallisti, give information, insight about Kallisti . . . Not that he didn't trust Alli. " Well, anyway, it was a dumb thing to do. "

" Oh, before you start, there's a party today in an hour or two. I say that because I forgot the time . . . and the place. " she suddenly said to him, and he looked at her with a blank, almost unbelieving expression, " Now that I think about it, but I'm sure we could find a flyer or something. Okay, do continue. " The innocent smile on her face made Harley want to do one of three things: drop his head in exasperation, smile back, or kiss her. He wouldn't mind doing all three, but he just sighed once more.

A party, huh . . . ? He wondered what kind? He wasn't into drugs, he'd go for the occasional drink, all the negative stuff wasn't really his deal ( even though it looked like it might be ). " Yeah, sure, I'll go with you. " he replied, his spirits slightly lifted by its mention, " You'll have to find it though, kou ~ hai. " He got up from the bench. Even though he had ( maybe ) originally intended to have a long heart to heart conversation about his dysfunctional family, if they didn't start looking for the party location now, they'd never get there.

He began to drag Allison along out of the Heliocanthea, " Well, time to start looking, " he told her cheerfully, " Where to? "

I wasn't sick. I probably wasn't close. I don't get stressed out to easily either, I just kind of shut down. I remembered not being able to move, and I kind of blacked out at one point. I was actually really excited to talk to Eleanora, I thought I'd finally make some form of friend after all the crap I had gone through for so long... but I don't even know now...
Bronagh woke up, but she hadn't had a dream this time. Instead she had just slept, but she didn't know how she ended up in bed. She sat up fast and looked around, it was morning. She got out of bed and felt her stomach rumble, and realized she hadn't eaten in a day at this point.
She walked over to the fridge praying that there was some form of leftovers from Eleanora's cooking, and was relieved to see a plate of food wrapped in saran wrap. She took off the cover and heated it up on the stove(because she hated using the microwave when it wasn't needed) and she put it back on the plate, and sat at the table and started to eat.
Oh my god this is good, it must have been so much better fresh...
She felt her phone vibrate and she looked at her messages and saw all the calls and texts she had missed within the past two days. She really didn't want to message back, but she read each of them anyway.
Bronagh ignored the messages, knowing that so they don't report a stolen kid to the cops or something. That's when she got an email from another student.
Dude, does anyone else see all the cops on campus? What the hell did Bellhurst do this time? Classes haven't even started yet!
Reply from other student: Don't the school have their own rangers anyway?
Bronagh sat there confused for a second before looking down at another email.
Yo Bronagh, I haven't seen you around at all, why don't you head to the party tonight?
"What party?!" She said out loud not knowing if her roommate was or wasn't in the room at the time. She hadn't really cared either.

xxxxxTheodore was already quietly devouring his second slice of glorious pepperoni pizza when Marcus asked his question. If only there was some fresh parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top. Dabbing the corner of his mouth more out of insecurity than etiquette, the dark-haired boy cleared his throat and truly considered the question before he spoke. He had the feeling that the majority of those who would show up would be Bellhurst students. It made the most logical sense, really. New students were likely eager to get involved, and knowing this academy...Most of them would need as much help as possible.

I believe people will show up. No need to worry.

He flashed the younger boy a closed-mouth smile and then started to feast upon the fluffy pizza crust. When he was through, he tossed the napkin he had used as a make-shift plate into the trash and started towards the door, nearly bumping into another young looking boy who had entered the room. He swallowed back a scoff. So many children. He genuinely hoped Marcus filled whatever void he had in his soul to create an elementary-school style party like this one, but this wasn't his type of thing at all.

Yes, well, I'll be off now. Thanks for the bite.

His hand flew up with a short wave, and then he had stepped out of the stuffy room and back out into the halls. He took a moment to calm his nerves with a deep breath. Interaction was so draining.

xxxxxHeidi set the owner's manual down on the bed beside her. Holding the phone out, above her face, she clicked a button that looked like a speech bubble. Why was this so hard? Who would want a cellphone if it required this much work to use? Watching you has been so entertaining deary. Shut up. Oh, but it provides a good laugh when you struggle like this. She rolled her eyes and turned the phone sideways, bringing up the keyboard. The letters vibrated beneath her fingertips as she slowly typed in the message.

xxxxxShe furrowed her brow at the screen before hitting the send button. At least, she thought it was the send button. This was too much work. Heidi bit down on her lip and kicked the box off the bed. Her eyes followed it too the floor and sighed. She had trashed the room in Altair's absense. Where was he? Maybe she should try to send him a text too.

Alex had woken up with a yawn. After doing pretty much nothing the previous day, he was determined to do something other than walk around and kill time. So he got up, got dressed, and left his dorm. He would begin his plan right after he got some breakfast. After all it is the most important meal of the day.

"Ah! Wait a sec! I- oh all right. I'm sure we'd be fine anyway. There were flyers all over the place yesterday. They couldn't have taken them down so fast." moped Allison a little. She got the feeling that she missed her chance to know more about Harley. And chances to know people more deeply than just a friend were practically once in a blue moon. Well this'll probably cheer him up loads. It is a video game party after all. They left the gardens together though Allison wasn't sure if Quintus saw them leaving or not. Would she follow? Or would she think that the two of them being together meant they were together? Yeesh both those options are supremely awkward. She thought with a slight grimace.

As soon as they left the gardens the academy was devoid of a poster. Ahhh shiz. Maintenance sure works fast. Good god. Turning to Harley she smiled nervously. "Uh...not to worry! I'm sure there'd be a few remaining posters in some of the buildings. Let's go to the girls' dorms real fast. There's got to be one on the bulletin board." she assured steering them north to the relatively nearby dorms. Just as they entered there was the bulletin board with news and events of the school and it was just about plastered with the flyers. "Ah here it is! It's happening right now at the Faculty of Student Life. We'll only be a few minutes late if we go now." Allison stated hurriedly as she waved Harley to follow her west quickly. "You can tell me about how you've been doing since we got here while we're fastwalking," she added with a slight smile. Awwww yeah! Smart move! "I'm sorry about the train incident, but I'm sure whoever got the brunt of your flames of anger didn't get too burned by it and forgave you. Who can possibly stay mad at you anyway? It's practically some kind of inane magical ability you have. 'Impossible to be angry at forever'." she joked trying to make him laugh. Allison figured he could use one.

Marcus resisted his urge to sit down and play after all this time maybe boring old Theodore would do something. How did he eat that first pizza so fast? Marcus was confused he answered his question but the answer was not uplifting as Theodore turned his back soon after. Marcus furrowed his dark brows in thought. Did he eat his the pizza and leave? He freeloaded but in the most polite way Marcus had ever seen.

Luckily for Theo, a completely new face to all Brookridge kids present was a new face. With different colored eyes. He immediately associated him with the Final Fantasy franchise but that was irrelevant to Marcus, instead what what the boy had said was what resounded in him. Marcus smiled and left at the chance to approach the boy. "Weeks? Most people haven't played a 64 in years! So I'm glad someone knows how I feel. " He spoke up more then he usually did, because of the background noise, he then gestured to the T.V. along the same wall as the green 64," I put it right next to the dDreamcast and got a few Sonic games for them both, people forget that Sonic originated elsewhere and not from Nintendo!"

Marcus was almost out of breath by the time he stopped talking, he was so excited that he forgot about his freeloading roommate. One gamer already and they were just getting started .

Ben stared out the window of his dorm room. The sun fell below the horizon, tinging the sky pink. He let out a small sigh. Despite falling asleep at dusk the earlier day, he had still woken up around his usual time. He knew he shouldn't have let his sleep schedule slip, but he had felt exhausted after his attempt to pay Cherno a visit. And then there was that horrible headache, and the name that accompanied it: John Quincy. He had noticed the name on the list attached to the email.
Ben knew that a student named Marcus was throwing a party that night. He was considering whether or not he would go. He certainly had no taste for socializing with a large group of people, especially since there were fliers put all around the campus. Yet, perhaps Cherno would be there. He sat still for a moment, still unsure. Maybe Marina is going... If she is, then I'll have someone to speak to if Cherno isn't there. He pulled out his phone and sent Marina a quick text message.
Are you going to the party tonight?

xxxxxMarina stood in front of her mirror inspecting her make-up. She had been mulling over the idea of attending this party all day. Go, do not go; go, do not go? It was a difficult decision. Pizza and video game parties were not her idea of fun, but it did mean the possibility of meeting the new students and gaining more clients. She had wanted to study them, learn more about what those on the list new. This would be the perfect opportunity. It was just a matter of weeding out the ones fated to die from the others. Marina could do that simply by offering a palm reading to anyone that so desired.

xxxxxHer phone buzzed and she lifted it up off the dresser, checking the I.D. A smirk spread across her lips as she read the name Benjamin. How sweet.
xxxxxThis was too perfect. She had been meaning to speak with him since their chat online. It was rather surprising that he had texted her though. Was it bothering him that much? Marina thought back to the incident yesterday. The school had managed to keep the death rather low key. Everyone seemed to be questioning what the police presence was about, but none of them knew. She knew. Her heart sank slightly as she clicked reply on the phone.
xxxxxShe put the phone in her jacket pocket before exiting her dorm room.

"thank you!" Casey said as he walked away from the reception and walked down the hall. Casey wasn't feeling the best, but he slowly began to get over his sadness. When Casey woke up that morning he immediately noticed Cherry had yet to awake from his slumber. As much as he wanted to wait for the teen to awake, the was something he wanted to do more. Writing a note to the teen, he left it beside the money he left for his teen along with a flyer he found yesterday.

With that done Casey decided to go visit the closest person to him currently in the campus. Having gained the room number, Casey walked on and reached Altair's room. Raising his hand Casey began to knock on the door "HEY TARRY OPEN UP!" Casey yelled as he continued to knock on the door with his fist.

{ Latest Tumblr Update OOC: my heart cannot right now }

It was winter break. This was excellent. Dorm security was most likely much less than what it would be when school started, and because of Christmas coming up, less staff and students were around in general. On her way to the boy's dormitory, she saw some men hanging beautiful Christmas bells to the Victorian styled lamp posts. Goodness this campus was gorgeous. Her stomach swirled with excitement for school to start. It had never done that before. She shook the thoughts from her head for now, though. Finding John was the priority!

It was worryingly simple to find his dorm number at the front office (once showing her Bellhurst transfer papers and being told to get her Brookridge ID done at the start of the semester). Now all that was left was to walk down the hall and knock on the door. ...For some reason, though, she couldn't bring herself to move. She could only stand right there at the beginning of the hall. John's room was at the end. She could see something in front of the door, but her eyes were blurring too much for her to make it out.

Refusing to blink in fear that the building tears would fall, she turned away from the hall and started off back towards the exit to the dorms.

STOP. Just get it OVER with. This is AGONIZING.

And like that, her feet moved on their own whipping her straight down the hall to John's room. DO NOT ENTER tape was plastered across the door; a single bouquet of flowers lay at the foot of it, and there was an official letter of investigation bolted above the door knob.
It did not take very long at all for her to put the pieces together, but when she did a smile graced her lips. Her eyes closed and the tears she had been holding back slid quietly down her cheeks. An airy, gentle sigh left her lips and an ache so strong it nearly caused her to fall over consumed her. Memories of the other day flashed in a blurry sequence inside of her skull. ...But why? ...No, not why. Not right now.

She knelt down and weaved her fingers together. There was no such thing as death. It was a myth. No one died. Baraiaya ail Edaslaidir. Her fingers burned with the strength of her clasping. She had yet to open her eyes, though she wanted to know who had left the flowers. She was grateful to them, but he deserved more than one bouquet. He deserved so much more.

Her heart was filled so suddenly with loneliness, that despite knowing his spirit lived on, she couldn't recover. Her smile faded nearly in the same instance that it had appeared and her forehead pressed painfully hard against the door. The scent of the flowers that tickled her knees overwhelmed her senses and she took another breath in an attempt to further drown them.

xxxxxxxxI will miss you.

Still, she couldn't move. Eleanora remained hunched up and pressed desperately against the dorm room door, as if she could somehow push through it and reach the place that John was. It was true that the witch had not known him for long...but he had given her the courage to stand up to Simon and to even come to Brookridge in the first place. He had protected her; and as she mourned, she mourned not only for the loss of the friend John had become to her during their short time together, but also mourned the loss of the potential friendship and the potential memories they could have made.

He was gone. ...He was gone. Not forever, but for now, and that was enough to break her heart into pieces. It was enough to hurt so badly that she could barely breathe. Now she had no one to confide in. Now she had no one to hold hands with or to gain courage from. Now she was just a weirdo witch, alone, in a new place, far from the home that did not accept her.

xxxxxxxxI will miss you so, so much.

"HEY TARRY OPEN UP!" Heidi tossed the shiny new phone up in the air and it landed with a thump on her stomach. Her heart skipped skipped a beat and she grabbed her chest, startled. What was that about? She crawled to the edge of the bed and clung there, hesitant to answer the door. Who was Tarry? Not Altair, his roommate? No. Tarry didn't sound right. Ty-something? Ty...Ty...Tyler? That sounded better. So who was Tarry?

xxxxxChewing on her lip, she slid off the edge of the bed and walked cautiously over to the door barefoot. Her hand hesitated on the doorknob briefly, before opening the door partway. She peeked through the crack between the threshold and the edge of the door, showing a fraction of her right side. "Wh-who are you?" Heidi inspected him? through the gap. It was a boy...right? He had long pink hair and feminine features. This...she had heard of this. People with male and female parts-- what was the word, it was something long and complicated.

xxxxxWas he one of those people? She didn't know how she felt about that. He's cute. We could have fun with him. You want to have fun with everyone. Well yes, we live for entertainment. Heidi rolled her eyes, but then looked back up at the pink-haired boy quickly. Hopefully, he didn't see that. It wasn't intended for him. She smiled at him meekly, but didn't open the door any further.

When Cherno woke up, he felt that his face was heavy with a thick weight. His head was still feeling sore, and his stomach rather empty. How late had it been? Cherno stretched out his hands upward in a deep yawn, and raised his head.

Ah ... what-- what was this on his-- face--
He pressed his hand to his face. It felt soft-- linen-- wait. There were bandages on his face. What in the soaring heights of a fucking asymptote was on his face. Cherno clenched the bandages tightly with both of hands and began ripping them away from his face. Rrrrrrip. They were very loosely wrapped around his head -- some of the carnage simply fell to his lap in linenous strands. Ugh. They-- they seemed a bit dirty. Eeeeeeck. Cherno quickly flicked away parts of the bandages, and removed the rest. Some of the bandages were stained with his blood. Was he really hit that hard? He-- he couldn't remember much about the night, anyway.

Wait, what was that?
Beside him, he noticed something. It was a note. Stained a bit with blood. Jesus christ, what kind of insane roommate did he have in this place? He sighed and read the letter. It was-- it was surprisingly apologetic, if not holding hints of some sort of mental collapse. Uuuuugh. Cherno held his throbbing head in his bandaged hand -- not out of the pain, which seemed to be slowly ebbing away this morning, but out of his immense disappointment and chagrin. He picked up the bill that his roommate had left. Eh. Giving him money?

int logic ( ) {
The roommate had hit him with a rock?
He then apologized afterward.
Money was also given, as if in compensation.
Was there something wrong with him?
It is entirely possible that, because of this compensation, hitting him with a rock had been
an accident.
}

...

Damn crazy people in Brookridge. He-- he couldn't place his tongue on what was about it, but he felt that he somehow knew all of the people that attended this prissy old place had some sort of quirks to them. Not like he had ever met them before in the past, maybe.

But he should better give back his roommate this money. What was his name? Cherno checked the letter -- "Casey Heckles". Oh. Okay. That was a pretty mad simple name to remember. Heckles. Wasn't he the famous fishing conglomerate executive, or something? How in blazing vertexes could Cherno remember insignificant details like this and have a giant black hole without any Hawking radiation where his terrible past was? He pocketed the bill in his coat, changed his clothing, and returned quickly to the flyer.

It was for a party. Was that why there had been knocking at the door last time? Hosted by Marcus, too. What was with this Marcus kid? Well, it was pretty fly standin' of him to come and invite Cherno, and ... and Casey. At the very least, Cherno would have something to do today. But he felt ... worried? Something had been off ever since he slumped on the bed all those nights ago.

Cherno sat on his bed.
He took out his phone. Any new texts from John? No. There was one from the little dude. Ah, so sweet. It looks like he was going to the party as well. How long had it really been since he talked to him? He typed away on his keyboard in a reply.
He didn't send the message.
Something was very off about all of this. But he sighed, and sent it anyway. There we no new texts from John. Where did John go? This was very, very unlike him.

...

No, that wasn't true. Truth? Cherno had no idea if John was typically like this. But he wanted to find out soon. He stood up from his bed, and exited the empty, dusty room. Cherno felt tense and almost sweaty simply being there. Ugh. But through this, everything -- something was off. He stared at his hands; at his phone; at the cuffs of his jacket, and grimaced. He-- he couldn't. He couldn't tell right now what was wrong. It frustrated him. It frustrated him, and yet, his anger felt hollow, as if he couldn't even want to feel angry anymore. He walked off through the Cherryleaf Boys' Dorm, to reach the receptionist and find out the room of the student named John Quincy.

At certain times in the night, Cherno would wake up.
He would wake up and do nothing but re-read some of his text messages. He would read his old ones and try and figure out who he was. Sometimes, memories came back to him, but with them seemed to come sharp pains in his hand. It was an odd yet terrible connection. He would down the painkillers, and seemingly, the next night, there had been little progress with his memory. Cherno had suspicions. He would glance at the painkiller bottle and think about the old professor. Who was she? He would try and contact the "medicine seller" whenever he could, but the number seemed to not exist -- even the one used for the text with Temperance's letter.

How did this mysterious figure get their hands on that letter?
Regardless, Cherno would always have the routine of reading through its contents at least once per night. Even in the middle of the night. Though he had forgotten his heart and soul on the cliffs of a dark abyss, he would never forget the lady that had come into his brief, new life with a flashy spike and ended in just the same way. She had been important to the Cherno Plume of the past, and the Cherno Plume of the now wished to make sure she would not be forgotten, and why she had been such a major influence on him.

cherryleaf | boolean symphonic |||

It was a strange feeling. Ever since being hit in the head by that damned rock, Cherno seemed to ... calm down.
Through all of these events, through all of his currently futile efforts in discovering who he was, he began to grow a hollowness in his heart that settled his mood to a less inclined melancholy -- a logical objectivity.
The receptionist had not been present, for some strange reason, so Cherno manually leafed through the thick student directory on the desk. But from time to time, he would stop and press a few fingers to his temple. He could not concentrate, something was off-- something was off. Jesus christ, what in heck was wrong with him today?

He walked over towards the hallway with John's room, and looked towards it. Was it over there? Bah. This hallway wasn't-- wasn't in the best condition. Quaint though. The entire place had a fancy, baroque feel, even in the dorms.

In front of John's dorm stood a little girl, her head down, close to a bouquet of flowers. It was-- what was her name? Hyperborea? What was she doing here?

Cherno walked over to her, and stared at her for a moment. She seemed-- seemed very sad.
Oh.
Was it best to disturb her right now? He scratched his head in contemplation, before deciding on a small, quiet notice.

"Excuse me, um, Hyperborea ... what-- what straight up mess have you got yourself tripping the wayside up today, here?"

And more importantly, what were the flowers--

The flowers--
The tulips, the-- the roses--
The sunflowers-- they--

They ...
