The seats were a bit too close for comfort, so she found herself squished up and turned slightly towards the window as John sat down. She placed her bag on the floor and pursed her lips together in thought. How, exactly, did one go about telling another that they had magical abilities? If he already knew, she would look like a fool...but she was only trying to help. Coming to terms with an awakening power could be difficult. She knew from experience, of course. She still wasn't completely comfortable with her own magic. ...She cleared her throat as the bus took off.

xxxxxxxxxWhat's your name? You may call me Eleanora, or Ellie, or Nora...Or Lady Eleanora...But never Eleanor. ...I...Have something important to tell you, and it may come as a bit of a shock...It's perfectly fine if you feel yourself needing to close your eyes to recover from any lightheaded-ness or anxiety. Those things are normal, I think. I felt them, too...

She took a deep breath, trying her best to take in only the more pure and encouraging of the energies around them as she turned to face him. Her wide, blue eyes locked onto his narrowed--but mystical ones.

xxxxxxxxxYour eyes...They--they indicate that you may possess some m-magical, um, abilities. That you may, in fact, be a...witch, as well. Like me! Have you ever...Have you ever thought about it?

Heidi was crammed into the backseat of a police cruiser. The seat was hard and wreaked like sweat. The cop climbed into the front seat after shutting the door on her. The cage wall separated her from the police officer and she felt panic rising up in her body. Why, why was she being hauled off in a police cruiser? What on earth could they need to ask her? The car roared to life and slowly pulled out of the resort parking lot and towards the freeway. Her eyes stayed focused on the window as the scenery continuously changed before her. The mountains and snow were left behind in the wake and images of the city grew before her.

it was quiet and lonely in the backseat. The only noise coming from the cb radio as the other cops and dispatch made announcements through the speaker. Her forehead tapped against the window pane periodically and she nodded off a few times. Anxiety kept tugging at the strings of her consciousness and pulling her awake once more. Upon arrival of the police station, the cop pulled into a marked working space and let her out, guiding her the entire way inside.

John hated buses and swallowed the uncomfortableness of sitting on something so many asses had sat on before. He slipped off his bookbag so he could rest his back on something and turned his face so he could keep her in his main field of view. He listened to her intently, figuring that caring would he the safest way to get on an immature witch's good side. She was adorable, he gave her that. Her speech made him think she might have been crazy but he decided to go down this path and Lord willing he would see it through. And so John listened intently to her introduction and finally her deduction? Heterochromia having to do with him being special? Well as a kid it was the main reason he placed himself above everyone else, even proclaiming to be a more special Christian.

He smiled at her, glad she noticed how grand he was compared to their fellow man. "John is my name, I will respond to all forms of it except Jay. .." He paused as if still thinking about her words. He was not here to talk about him. But how should he ask a stranger for help in his task. Best to play it cool, be a part instead of apart. His head felt funny, as he spoke to this strange girl. He shook it off as stress before speaking up again to her, "I am glad you noticed how different I am from the others. But I just guessed it was my eyes being different genetically, not magically." His next look was skeptical, but not on of disbelief or anger.

Without a reason to stick around, Altair began his search to find Heidi so they could leave together. He questioned if Heidi had found out about the death that took place recently and just what she was doing at the moment. His headache was slowly beginning to fade, but it still hurt and hampered him. The search didn't last long due to a sudden interruption from a burly police officer.

"Mr. Marshall...we require you to please come with us" the officer said as he stopped the boy's search mid way.

"Don't call me that...Its Geis" Altair said glancing up at the officer with cold eyes.

"sorry about that, but regardless we will be needing you to accompany us" the officer said

"Fine, but I need to find somebody fast, her name is Heidi" Altair said glancing the area for the girl. Telling the officer the name of a girl he helped escape from the hospital was pretty risky but he doubted the police man cared about her at the moment.

"Ah yes, as a matter of fact we have her along with us. Now if you wouldn't mind shall we hurry along?" the officer said.

Upon hearing the news Altair's eyes widened but quickly returned to their neutral self. For what reason would the police need the two of them for? It surely couldn't be about helping Heidi escape, but what could it truly be then? could it have been something about the murder? there was only one way to find out and with the thought put away, Altair accompanied the officer into the police car and together they arrived at the police station.

She was positively giddy. She couldn't stop smiling and bouncing slightly with excitement. The young witch had encountered many strange spirits, demons, witches and other supernatural beings before, but none have accepted the truth so readily. ...Though, that could be because Simon would always pull her away from anyone she got into deep conversation with. She was embarrassing him, probably. Her shoulders relaxed against the hard seat of the bus, and she smiled genuinely.

xxxxxxxxxHeteromi...heter...She took a moment to remember how to pronounce the word before giving up. ❝...Your eyes, their color...It's extremely rare to find an average human with such a distinct feature. Tr-try not to misunderstand, though...We witches...Well, those of us who are special are not here to make mortals feel bad. We're here to help...guide, if you will...to vanquish the wicked and negative energy and to bring light and love into the world! We must appreciate and bask in the gifts and magic surrounding us. No one is better than the other, I don't think. We all have our roles. Ayasirrula air rfasaier--everyone is special.

She hadn't noticed how loudly her voice had become somewhere midway through her speech, but the glances from in front of her reminded her to tone it down. She nodded at John with determination in her eyes, eager to make an impact, before she settled back down in her seat and swung her ankles just above the sticky floor.

They reached the station quite a while later, and she was woken up from a peaceful slumber by the shuffling of those around her. Switching shoulders from before, she swung the bag back over her shoulder and picked up her umbrella. John was getting up himself, so she let him step into the aisle first and followed after. Coincidentally, it seemed they were to catch the same bus to get to their home's and did so promptly. The ride home was much quieter than the one back from Trembling Mountain, but it was a comfortable silence. It would take some time for John to accept his powers, but she was happy that she was able to meet him and help light one of his spiritual paths.

Her fingers pulled down on the cord a few moments later, alerting the bus driver to stop at the next stop. When he did, she stood up, bid John a gentle farewell, and exited the bus with her things.

Her heart was pounding in anticipation. Simon. Would he be angry? Relieved? Was he even home yet? What would she say to him? She missed him...she was worried, but... He had left her for a reason. If he wasn't home yet, she hoped he had at least wrote her somewhere. She would have to check her email later. So long as he had contacted her, she would leave him alone. He needed time away, after all. Her energetic aura probably drained his.

    Yes, that's it.

A short walk, about eight minutes from the bus stop, and she was back at the familiar pale green house she loved so much. Things were still a bit soggy from the flooding, but they were making it through. Her and Simon had fixed up a lot of it themselves, not relying much on the community or government to help repair the damages. Coy City was nice, but sometimes a bit slow. Her key dug into the top lock, twisting, and then mimicked the same motion with the bottom, pushing the door open.

Warmth hit her face and she sighed softly. Such a beautiful energy. It reminded her of her parents. It reminded her of her childhood. She took off her shoes and closed the door behind her, setting the duffle bag down for now. Her first priority was food!

Few familiar faces boarded the bus, John for one. And the witch from school as well. She was cool, being someone who believed in something past what others considered normal. He never really got the chance to really speak to her though, only knowing about her powers through others.

If it were any other time he'd try to talk to her but as of right now he really didn't want to interact with anyone. It was just too hard to do.

Bringing out his phone again he decided to download the first puzzle game he saw and began playing it. Winning was making him feel better. In fact he may even end the day on a happy note at this rate.

However that would soon be ruined as the phone began playing its ring tone and a call popped up, covering the game.

He answered the phone but the line stayed silent for a while. "Hello?"

    "A-Anthony? Is that you?"

    "Auntie Vic? What's wrong?"

"It's your parents... They're...well your father is... And your mother's in City Centre Hospital... She may not... You need to be here. Do you need a ride? I can send someone, just you really need to be here."

"I think it's close by. I'll get there. Soon, okay?"

They exchanged goodbyes before the call ended, leaving Anthony in an anxious mood. Two people had already died, making today a bad day. Thirteen. It really was an unlucky number, wasn't it?

During the ride it he overhead the witch speaking, but remained focus on his phone. What if something else happened? He had to remain focus, just in case. In fact he only looked up after the bus stopped for a time longer than any stop light or sign would cause, signaling for its passengers to get off.

After doing so, bags in tow, he made his way to another bus which took him to the hospital. Once there he found his way to the critical care section, after a nurse told him where to find his mother, and instead ran into Victoria. She told him that his parents were in an accident rather than the truth and that his father did not make it.

"Dad?" The last time he referred to the man as his father had been years. But after hearing this he broke down and began crying in the hall.

Shortly after this scene he was in the room with his mother, who had been hooked up to a bunch of stuff, whatever they were being unimportant to him. All that mattered was his mom, who he kept his focus on while sitting beside her and holding her hand. Sure, they had bot been the best parents. But..they weren't evil. And he didn't want anyone else to die, least of all someone he knew and cared for.

    "Mom...mommy, please wake up..."

John listened to her and pretended to go along while before noticing that she somehow promptly fell asleep. He bet she had some kind of wacky sleeping disorder. John sighed, buying a all day pass as they got off the bus together. He noted that they were in his home's neighborhood and that she lived close enough to be his neighbor. These thoughts could wait. For now John hurried across the streets and to his home. So much water attacks, debris here and there. Aside from the water, his house's exterior didn't seem so bad. He looked behind him to the house Eleanora had gone into, her's was damaged like his and everyone else's in this area of Coy City, except...worse. Maybe she was checking on her house's state. John's curiosity would have to wait for now. He needed to see how much was lost, so he used his house key to enter his home and immediately he began to pray that his feet wouldn't smash through the floor boards. Aside from it all being soaked, and most if not all of the place's electrical things being ruined, his home was in pretty good shape. It actually made him smile.

He moved to his backyard and glared at the crushed flowers of his mother's garden. Freaking water dumped at kid's tricycle right on them. He sighed and let it go, the flowers could be replanted. John didn't bother with his room. He did not want to go through any pain that might cause. He sniffed before heading outside onto the waterlogged streets. His phone was out in minutes while he got a hold of his mother. She was currently staying at a hotel near the stadium, usually used for out of statesmen who came for the games and splendor of Coy City. He knew where it was and asked his mother to get him a room with two beds. He had a poor unfortunate soul to take care of. His mother agreed and secured him a room with what he wished for.

His phone back in his pocket. he sighed and stared at the green soakage that was Eleanora's home. He should just leave her be. Just follow the damn rules and leave everyone be. But he felt in his heart that that would not protect him. He rubbed his eyes and straightened his posture while making the two minute trip to Eleanora's house. His eyes roamed over the disrepair and ruin that couldn't have been done by the water. It looked more like a ...hut than anything. Chipped paint, holes in the porch and even in some of the walls...Knocked out windows and a soggy looking roof. How could he and Cherno not have discussed this house's state? He looked a bit closely. Hm, in certain places it looked like ramshackle repair had been made by an inexperienced hand. Her father should not be allowed to touch or build anything. He chuckled to himself, as a guy he should at least escort her to the stadium and if she decided to, she could hang with him at the Pilton's Hotel. With a witch in his pocket, how could he lose? His plan was sure proof. His fist reached out and rapped three times on her paint chipped door.

When Alyssa got home, the first thing she did was go into Lisa's bedroom to see how she was doing.
Lisa did look a lot better than before, her eyes were less red from crying, and she ate a bit more (unlike the days before).
"I'm back Lisa," Alyssa started, "How are you doing?"
"I'm doing better." Lisa replied, "Oh, and I heard about the homicide at the resort, yikes."
    "Yeah, it was horrible."
    "So, how was the trip?"
"Great. The springs were very relaxing."
"Yeah, I just told Janice and dad that you were spending the night with Kimberly though."
"Ok." Kimberly was one of Alyssa's only friends.
"So, you wanna practice piano and cello together?"
    Alyssa smiled, "Sure Lisa!"
"Ok then." And the two headed to where the piano was and played together (♪).

How to do this? How to do this? He was going to make a rubbish first impression but everything he would normally do or say seemed oh so inappropriate after what had just happened. He just stood there in the shadows, watching the people outside, figuring out how to make his entrance.

    THUD.

Before Matthew even knew what he was doing, he was sprinting out from the place where he'd been standing to run over to the girl who had just collapsed. No. No. No. There wasn't going to be any more casualties today. Seeing what he already had was more than enough. No more. Within seconds, he was on his knees by the unconscious girl, checking her over and putting her in a safe position, raising her legs a little to make sure she didn't go into shock. He did know a little first aid.

"Hey, hey, can you hear me? You're going to be okay." He didn't recognise the girl but all he cared about right now was making sure she was okay. She didn't appear to be injured, she just seemed to have fainted. She'd probably been close to one of the two dead girls and this was the result of the shock of finding out. It was bad enough for him but for someone close to them...it must be awful. He was going to be there for her, she was going to be okay. There had been too much lost today already.

xxxxxxxxxMama! Papa! Simon...! She waited for a response from the center of the living room, her small voice bouncing off of the vanilla white walls. ...I'm home.

It did not seem like anyone else was. This was not unusual, however. No, it was not unusual for people to disappear. They were busy. Besides, she liked being alone, for the most part, as it allowed her uninterrupted time to practice her magick. ...It's just that alone felt more alone than usual, now that her precious companion was gone. No. There is no such thing as 'gone'.

With a few more minutes spent not exactly knowing what to do, she remembered her first goal. She needed something to eat, yes! And so off she ran across the shiny hardwood floors and straight into the kitchen. She was craving some pasta, so she got started with boiling the water and pulling out a box of penne, a jar of sauce and some pre-shredded mozzarella cheese. Her mouth watered in anticipation of the meal to come, and that's when she heard a melodic knocking upon her door. Simon?

Still clasping onto the wooden spoon she was planning on using to stir her concoction, she bolting off with as high of energy as ever towards the front door, nearly falling on the way.

    xxxxxxxxxComing! Coming--aaack, I'M COMING!

When she opened it, she was met face to face with John and sulked a bit...Then she perked up, because someone was visiting her! ...Then she stepped back in suspicion because it was awfully weird if he had followed her. Conflicted, she simply stared at him, trying to gauge his intentions.

[Tumblr ~ Mood: Numb... ~ OOC ~ Listening to]

Tyler was sat in his room, still at the resort, on his bed he hugged his knees and just stared at the wall feeling a sense of numbness take over him. He had been interviewed by the police just like anyone else, but... of course he would have been. He was covered in blood, his clothes stained from when he'd moved the girls. Even now... he could still feel their warmth from when he'd lifted them. In contrast... it chilled him to his very core.
The interview had been pretty straightforward. He'd explained what he did and why, and how he had come to arrive at the scene of the crime. He was honest about everything except for one thing. He didn't mention Crestatia, the game or the email at all. How could he? ...After telling his story, he'd been made to change his clothes and give the bloodstained ones to the Police as evidence, and then was made to wait while they got other accounts of the events to see if his story matched up. Of course, it did. It was the truth.
And then came something Tyler didn't expect... He was praised for his quick thinking. In contrast to what people might have thought about him moving the bodies as being tampering evidence, it seemed him removing them from the water was the right move as it helped to preserve evidence. But... no. That just made Tyler feel rotten. That hadn't been his thought process at all. All he'd wanted was to do one last possible thing for the girls; To show them respect. ...What would happen now? Who would be next in this game? Tyler thought about Quin and how she had been close to Madeline, how she had excitedly told him yesterday she was to be sharing a room with her. ...This news would hit her hard. Just like the news about Abby had torn him up.
Abby. Tyler found himself looking up at the ceiling and wondering if Abby would be watching over him and the others now. Part of him found the thought comforting, and the other part was overcome with emotion a little again. He took a deep breath to steady himself. His determination was still set deep in his heart. He'd definitely protect Quin, even if it meant his own life.

Zoey had been interviewed and told the story just how it had happened. There had been no need to lie, and why would she have anyway? She was done quickly and allowed to go, but... Zoey had no idea what she should do now. She was worried about Matt, but had lost track of him fast with all the commotion. Thankfully, the police had let her change from her robe into actual 'clothes'. ...She felt restricted now... so she headed to her room.
...Today had been her first time seeing anyone dead before. And it was also the closest she had come to...
...She wondered if he was alright. He'd handled himself astonishingly somehow. She saw him as brave to do what he did and respectable. He didn't care about the consequences, he just did what he felt had been right. She couldn't help but admire him. ...But he didn't even know she existed.
She opened her door and headed inside her room, instantly loosening her belt and letting her jeans drop. She stepped out of them and let herself fall back on her bed, just in shirt and underwear. She felt free now - she felt lighter. ...So why was her heart feeling so heavy?

John put his hands in his pockets as he waited on her to answer his call(knock). He smiled down at her, just now noticing how short she was since he could see her while she stood and not while she was sitting down on the bus. He looked down into her blue eyes and suddenly jumped back when he realized she was wielding a long stick. It was nearly the size of her forearm and only a circular green leaf adorned the end she wasn't holding. Was she coming to attack him? She seemed to be defensive now, unlike when they were on the bus. His mind whirled and he tried to think of a reason why she'd be in this clearly abandoned home trying to attack him now. She was insane! He'd made some kind of mistake in judging how much a witch she really was.

It was as John held up his hands and his brain thought up possible scenarios to knock her out cold. He noticed that she simply stopped at the door, and had smiled at him before she narrowed her eyes in something that looked like mistrust. He wasn't too sure, but the fact that she stopped at the door and wasn't that menacing made him think that maybe she was all alone, and so, noticing that he, the stranger from the bus ride, was outside her door, she went into her backyard and grabbed the nearest weapon in which to defend herself incase John was some kind of predator. John exhaled in relief as this thought dominated the other, more dangerous ones, he still kept his hands up by he stayed right where he was.

"Eleanora, hello. I just noticed that we're neighbors," he gestured to the house behind him. "And I was wondering if you were alright, most people still haven't returned home in this side of town." He looked right into her eyes, where this innocent sparkle lay. "If your mom and dad are looking for you, your best bet is to head to the stadium. At least to get out of this wet house, you should come."

Aileen's answer shocked Brian. Was it really past noon already? Hm, how odd. Brian almost always work up by ten... he must have really crashed last night. What was so tiring...? It's not like it mattered anyway; he was thinking too much into this. How silly.

More commotion. What was all this ruckus about? Brian's mind wandered as he said, "Excuse me, I'll be right back." He closed the door gently and quickly put on something more presentable. He adjusted his hair, and threw on the same scarf as the day prior. When Brian reopened the door, he saw an older woman next to Aileen. "Pardon me... Brian, was it? Everyone has been ordered to leave the facility due to some..." The receptionist paused and swallowed hard. "Deaths." Her voice wavered as she bowed slightly and walked away, avoiding eyes contact.

Brian's eyes widened, his mouth agape. W-who was killed this time...? He had no idea in the slightest. Who would be dumb enough to break one of Crestatia's rules? He shook his head and closed the door again. He packed his bags as quickly as he could, he--and Aileen--needed to get out of here now. Brian emerged from the entrance and slammed the door forcefully behind him. "You need to back your bags. Now." His voice was direct.

And so it turned out that they were talking about the email. And that the email was true. Cristina watched as the tall boy talked to one of the girls who then apologized and left. Although she had a smile on her face, she was also bleeding. There's something wrong with her.

The boy then turned his attention back to Cristina. He stared at her face for a bit. Was he observing her? Well this is awkward. The boy then suggested, "You might wanna steer clear of this scene, it looks like things might get b -" but was cut off before he could finish by a loud thud.

Cristina quickly turned around to see what was the matter. A girl had fallen to the ground. She turned back to look at the boy, whose eyes were wide open. Cristina raised her eyebrow. Someone he knows? Could she also know about the email?

Regardless, Cristina thought it would best for her to leave. She wanted to help the girl, but the boy beside her would probably be enough. He looked as if he was ready to run towards her any minute. Cristina gently poked his arm to get his attention, and pointed at herself, then down the hallway to show that she was leaving. Walking away, she looked back and frowned. Maybe I should stay and help...I still have some questions to ask, too... But suddenly nausea grabbed hold of her again, and she found herself covering her mouth and running towards her room.

Elizabeth found herself drifting to Blackpowder Woods again, even though she had been there many times already. It was simply that the cabin there was the only private place she knew of where she could sleep without being bothered. Though the teens that stayed... They did not come back through her first night here, but what if they did later? That would be an issue.

    An issue...for another time.

The place was clear now so she went inside, finding a room with a bed this time rather than sleeping on the couch. But it felt early still...and her head raced.

She did what had to be done. They deserved it! But...would he see it this way? Oh, if he found out it was her would he hate her? A sort of sad laugh came from this thought as she laid down. "He must understand...he must..."

Muttering this over and over she closed her eyes, trying to find the words she'd say to her brother. Nothing seemed like it would work, and in frustration Elizabeth kept turning over. It took what seemed like the longest time before she finally fell asleep.

Though he no longer cried Anthony sniffled every now and then, having stayed at his mother's bedside. Even when his stomach growled he didn't even think of moving. It was not until his aunt returned when he was pried away, despite his protests.

He did manage to give her a kiss on the cheek before leaving though, promising to come back tomorrow.

After being ushered into the parking lot he saw that his aunt still drove a black ford. The stickers he and Sophie put on the inside of the doors were still there as well. Thinking back on that time made him smile, even if only for a moment.

When they got to Victoria's house he remembered how close she lived to Abby and winced at the thought, deciding to go in as quickly as possible and run upstairs to where he remembered the guest room being. Unlike the first floor it was untouched by water, making it dry and safe for the bags.

Moments later Sophie peered in, looking too shocked to speak at first though finally informing him that dinner would be ready later. He thanked her before she scurried away. Once she was gone he decided to make an update and check tumblr, just to see who was still alive.

And with that Anthony laid down, finding comfort in the blankets that hid him away from the world.

The car moved on quickly and quietly. How long had it been, even? An hour? Was it an hour? Perhaps even more time. Ugh. Cherno was too dazed and tired to even consider the time at the moment. His head slumped towards the window, the cold glass stabbing numbly at his cheek. Enormous, brooding conifers raced by the empty road, and his dulled golden eyes followed the constant repetition and repetition. He didn't want to even think.

He turned his head slowly and took out his phone from his pocket. It had run out of battery during the entire ordeal in the hot springs. He was never even able to give the others his presents. Or ask questions. The phone, and the presents, held the key to everything. His memory was still spotty. He knew who these people were now -- at least, for the last twelve days. But he did not know much about them. Who were they really, but simple names with a few fleeting memories attached to them?

Like Madeline. The only memory he had of the strange girl was something after a concert. It was so patchy that it hurt his head thinking about it. What happened between them? He had no idea, and since it was only them, he would never have any idea.

    Cherno sighed.

He looked towards the scar on his hand. What had caused this?
Would he ever be able to find out anything about what happened to his memory? He felt that he could only trust a few people right now.

    "H--hey ..."

Prescott was not one of them.

Cherno groaned. Why did he feel the need to badger him constantly? Ugh. Goddamn cops sticking their nose in everything.
    "S--sorry, but y--you, I mean-- okay, w--what was I-- I-- gonna s--say ..."
What was with this guy? That was it.

    "Prescott!"

    ...

    Oh.

    Oh no.
Flippin' derivatives, why in god's name did he yell like that? Cherno relaxed himself, exhaling gently, and rested his head dimly on his arm as he looked out the window again.

    "Oh. S--sorry, friend. Uh, officer, I mean. I don't ... don't got any qualms, you dig? I ... I just ..."
"I'm sorry Cherno. I really am. But I do love the gift. It's a shame it'll be wasted."
    Fuck.

"I-- I know. It must be hard, Mr. Plume" Prescott continued looking forward while he drove the squad car, rather smoothly and effectively. "B--believe me, we-- we want to figure this ... this, out, as much as the n--n--next person ..."
"Officer. I have two queries to send straight up flightin' your way."
    Prescott paused. "... Uh."

The clouds appeared to be turning darker and further grey, as if angered at the vindications of the meek earth beneath it. The trees lining the lone road swayed to the breeze. It all seemed so musical and lively, yet there was not a trace of happiness in the air. How ... melancholic. Cherno pressed his hand towards the window's chilly glass, but it was unable to overtake the shards of ice and arctic wind that blew through his heart and his head. Prescott switched on the radio.

    "I uh... I hope y--you d--don't mind. I-- I mean, I-- thought it would be n--nice for some m--music."
Cherno did not reply. His eyes followed the trees and the signs that passed by quickly.

    "Officer Prescott," Cherno began.
    "W--wh-- I mean, yes?"
Cherno did not turn to face him. He traced his finger around on the window's meek coating of frost, drawing an elegant pattern. The tip of his finger was bitten by the vicious fangs of the cold. But Cherno? Cherno did not care.
"Do you not consider it ... torturous." His voice was flat. Cherno could not feel himself speak. It was as if the words simply dripped out of his mouth, and he was not one bit conscious of it.
    "What?"
"... To carry a forsaken man to the ends of the mortal plane ..."
    Prescott did not reply.
"... To bring forth Orpheus, and thus, test him and judge him ..."
Cherno continued to trace a pattern in the window's frost.
"... And in letting him flight with Eurydice, dare his wits, his humanity ..."
    The car continued moving.
"... But be unable to see his truth every step of the way. Wearing only ..."
The trees swayed in a mocking, displeasing manner.
"... The mask, of a false illusion to believe in."
Cherno slowly dropped his finger away from the cold window, and finally turned his head towards the stout, rotund officer driving the car.

Prescott was silent for a few moments, and only the slight purr of the engine and the wheels upon the road brought the calm to the tense air. Finally, he spoke up, with a clearer voice than usual.
"I-- have heard that quote before."
"Have you?" Cherno said, calmly, and chuckled. "It just came to me. I have no idea where I last heard it. Mayhaps it's a key to my past, eh? Ahaha." His laugh sounded a bit hollow.
Prescott was silent again. Cherno was unable to see his facial expression. What was the cop thinking?
"T--the reason we are questioning you again ..." He began, "Is precisely that. T--to face, I-- I mean, to face a truth, w--we have to wade through a forest o--of lies."
Cherno sighed and said, with some melancholic kindness in his voice, "... You're no help, Officer."

Why had those words come to him?
It was as if he remembered them ... from ... somewhere. But, how? Did he know the origins back before the twelve days?
"'Scuse me, Officer." Cherno's voice held little intonation to it. How could he feel anything right after these events. "Where is Inspector Suchet? That was my second bangin' query."
"H--he had b--business to ... uh, to take care of. In-- investigation, some ... something to do with some man's ... attempted disposal of a young girl's body from a Coy-- Coy City school ..."

    Wait.
    What?

    ...

    What the fuck?

    No.

    No. There was no way.

No. It. It just. No. It couldn't. ... i--it-- it couldn't--

"Officer!" Cherno called out, a bit loudly. His voice seemed to echo throughout the car. "Was the name of the girl--"
"No. I've-- I've said enough. Pre--pree--preeeetty lucky Mr. Suckit isn--isn't here, o--or else h--he would have gut m-me ... haha. Any--anyhow, we're at the station."
"Tell me! Tell me, goddammit!" Cherno wrenched himself towards the front seats of the car and looked Prescott in his sagging, nervous eyes.
"G--get out of the car, Mr. Plume, o--or I'll arrest you for a m--multitude of things."

    Ugh.

    This-- just ...
Cherno slumped. He had no energy left.

The two exited the car. Cherno glanced at the Brookridge Police Station. It was very ornamental for a mere building -- pillars, a colonnade, arched windows with a bit of nice colourful paint contrasting the white marble, and ... was that gold leaf? He could only describe it as "rococo". It wasn't exactly what he expected for a police station, of all things.

Prescott let out a chuckle that sounded hearty yet ingrained with nervousness. "L--like it? Brookridge's f--filled with all s--sorts of crazy archi--archi-- uh, archi--tect--tecture. Ha." He exhaled gently. "L--let's go, Mr. Plume. Altair and Heidi are waiting i--inside." He pointed to the enormous, carved arch wooden doors that served as the main entrance to the police station.

Cherno quickly scuttled off without a word, his lovely new coat blowing behind him in the wind.

Prescott let out a deep sigh, and turned to his car. Ack! He gasped loudly.
Cherno had drawn a heart on the window frost with his finger. Why in the world did he do that?

Aileen's eyes widened at the word 'deaths.' Deaths? Deaths. More than one...death. Brian began packing his bags. He spoke, "You need to back your bags. Now." Aileen nodded her head once and walked back to her room. She threw all of her toiletries into her duffle bag;that was all she had really taken out. She double checked all of the table tops and drawers to see if she had left anything behind.

She couldn't help but think back to what had happened at home when she opened the drawer. The leather diary. The photograph. Her parents. The lies. Her 'sister'. At some point while she was thinking, she had unconsciously clenched her fists. Aileen shook her head, relaxed and continued to double check the room. Now was not the time to think about this.

She zipped her bag, hung it on her shoulder and walked out the door to meet up with Brian again.

It took Cristina several tries to open the door. She must have looked like a freak. On her third try, she heard the door click. Thank friggen god. She turned the knob as quickly as she could and pushed the door open, almost running into it, herself.

"What the hell took you so long? We have to go now!" Tamora shouted. Thank you captain obvious.Cristina ignored her and made her way to the bathroom door.

"Woah, Cris, you don't look so good," Jeremy said, as she stepped into the bathroom and closed the door.

She could hear what Tamora was saying behind the door as she was throwing up. She couldn't tell if she was being loud on purpose, or if she was just plain stupid. "When does she ever look good?" What a bitch. Finished, Cristina opened the door and walked past Tamora, ignoring her. She packed her bag quickly and left the room before the two. She stopped at the store to get medicine and then walked out of the resort. Already waiting was Mrs. Kerring. Cristina opened the passenger seat door and stepped in.

"I heard about what happened. Where are the other two?" She said as Cristina opened the medicine container and took a pill. "And you, are you alright?" Ms. Kerring stared at her as she took it.

She pulled out her speech device and typed, "I'm fine. Feeling nauseous that's all." Yeah right.

xxxxxxxxxx Before his mind could even process what he was doing, Harley was next to Kallisti's unconscious body - thank god, she started breathing again. Her face was pale, but she was alive. For just a moment before, a horrible, dreaded moment, he assumed the worst had happened. His temper quickly flared when that boy had gotten to her first, but he completely disregarded him and swept up her light and small frame into his arms, just as he had done to Temperance last night.

Her body was cool, but she seemed to be alright. He looked to his right and saw a couple of paramedics rushing towards him and Kallisti's body. His protective instincts kicked in, and for a split second, he didn't want anyone else to touch her. When he realized that relying on them was his best bet, though, he let down his guard - only slightly - and handed her small body over. Why had she passed out like that? What had she been doing? He wanted to know, but Kallisti was one girl he just couldn't figure out . . .

He asked the staff of the hotel to direct him to her room and he quickly gathered her stuff, being deterred by police who were conducting an investigation for evidence in her room - why her room? When he asked, Harley discovered that Kallisti had shared this room with Madeline. What did that mean exactly? Were they friends? No - they didn't seem the type together.

Forgetting mind and turning back to the care of Kallisti, he also had Allison gather her stuff and told one of the valets about Kallisti's car and exactly where her house was. And in a slightly threatening tone, he added, " Do nothing else but park her car in front of her home, and then leave. I find otherwise, and I will deal with you. "

Harley Jackson was not in the mood to be messed with, " I'm sorry that we had to leave so suddenly, Alli. " he told his only friend, " Kallisti, you know her, I think she's sick and I need to make sure she's alright. " He hoped she didn't notice the amount of emotion in his voice. He was distressed, this was true, but with a girl he felt like he knew nothing about, and no real knowledge on the situation . . .

    This was horrible, for him.

About five hours later, Harley found himself alone in Kallisti's hospital room. Alli was at home and he told her that he'd keep her posted if anything serious happened. He eyes fell on Kallisti's unconscious body . . . Why had she passed out? More importantly . . . Why was she still asleep? If she had simply passed out, then why wasn't she up yet?

She was still out . . . And about an hour later, so was he.

she was placed inside a small concrete interrogation room and sat in a hard metal chair. Heidi began to fidget almost immediately. Police stations were bad news. The wait was unbearable as the other two teenage boys arrived and joined her at the long steel table. Heidi remained silent, attempting to stay focused on the here and now. A sharp dressed detective came sauntering in, holding a manila folder. He set the file down on the table along with a few items in evidence bags. The first, a letter. It was written on a sheet of printer paper, with creases signifying it had been folded up a few times. Was that what they pulled out of temperance's backpack? The paper had tear stains in various locations and was written in a neat cursive font. The letter was followed by a cell phone in one evidence bag and another containing a printed version of a text conversation. Bride's eyes began to read over the letter, but then immediately stopped.

it wasn't meant for her. It was to personal and she felt invasive. Instead, she focused on the texts. "we found this letter among miss spike's personal affects and after searching miss Moore's room, we uncovered her cell phone containing this conversation between the two. We have no further reasons to believe it was anything more than suicide." the detective's voice was low and gruff as he spoke. "we have yet to obtain miss spider's phone, but there is plenty for us to go on."

the detective watched their reactions as they each read the items in front them. Heidi couldn't think straight. What was all this. "wh-what do you need us for then?" she watched as he smiled coyly.

"we have a few questions about the things discussed in this letter."

heidi's heart started racing. They couldn't tell them. Her mind flashed to what happened to her last time she said something. There was a light knocking at the door and the detective walked away to answer it.. This gave her a moment to breathe. She stared at the times printed on the messages. Something didn't add up. Temperance broke her phone. It was in her pocket. That first message could have been sent before it broke, but the rest was impossible. She shook her head back and forth in disbelief. "No no no. Not possible. Phone broken. Here." she handed it over to cherno before the detective came back.

he approached her cautiously. "Miss Layne, could you please come out in the hall with us?" he may have asked a question, but in all honesty, it was a demand.

What? How did he know my last name? You're in trouble now deary. she stood shakily as they escorted her out of the small concrete room. Heidi glanced back nervously at the other two, before walking out the interrogation room door.. There was a sinking feeling in her chest. This was going to be bad.

    [ LEVEL THIRTEEN - BGM13/2 - STATUS: ??? - UPDATE ]

When dinner was finally finished, Victoria called the two kids down to eat. However once sat in front of the salmon, his favorite dish, he could not bring himself to eat more than a few bites. It was just so hard to move.

"Sorry auntie...I kinda wasted it..." he was told not to worry and that perhaps he should just go to bed. Nodding at the idea he got up and left the dinning room, trudging up the stairs where he headed towards the bathroom. A nice, long shower helped with his mood, though once again it was only temporarily.

Once he was out and dressed he returned downstairs where he was allowed to grab the ps3 and bring it back up with him to the guest bedroom. From there he could finally try out Cherno's present, finding it fun but challenging. Though that made it all the better when he started beating each level he got to.

Throughout the evening the sounds of sword clashing, button mashing, and victory songs filled his head, replacing the awful thoughts from before. And at one point he found himself on the floor in front of the tv, has he had passed out as it would seem his energy was completely drained.
