Closing his eyes Altair calmly smirked "Do note Temperance you can do whatever the hell you want, I am not trying to force you to do anything...I am merely putting up suggestions." Altair said as he let out a chuckle "Though you have brought up an interesting point...I am quite surprised that you decided to visit the cursed man" Altair said as he grinned happily "You actually do have a heart, that makes me glad" Altair said but before he could let the girl speak he placed his hand forward "wait before you say anything let me save you some time" Altair said opening his eyes as he placed his hands on his hips "Hmph as if I would care for some idiot who got himself curses, I was just strolling around and wished to grace the pitiable fool with my glorious presence. Stop thinking so highly of yourself Altair" Altair said doing a terrible impersonation of Temperance.
Temperance's brow furrowed into a scowl. He really wanted to piss her off, didn't he. Was that supposed to be a joke? Did he think he was being funny? She didn't. Her green eyes narrowed at him, glowering. "Do you really think I sound like that?" Her left eye twitched in annoyance and she was about ready to storm out of the room entirely. Forget him. She was doing him a kindness, which was against the rules. What was the point in even wasting time on him? What was the point in wasting time on any of them?
He did have a point though, about the others. How many more would wind up thrown into the mix? Were they really hidden from the rest of them, or did they get tossed into the mix with even less days then the rest of them? There was a stirring under her feet and a small brown-haired figure appeared between her ankles. Looks like she woke up. "As much as I would like to leave and pretend this whole encounter didn't happen, we should probably fill this one in on what she's missed."
Temperance pursed her lips and lifted her legs up onto the bed. She sat cross-legged and felt a buzzing in her pocket. Quickly, she pulled out her phone once more. Her heart pounded a little faster in anticipation, but sunk when she read the name of the sender. Josh. Why was he texting her? It sounded pretty concrete when they broke up. With shaky fingers, she clicked the open button. What did he want?
He called her Temp. He refused to call her Temp when they last saw each other. There was a lump in her throat. What did he want to talk about? Her heart beat rapidly and she glanced away from phone. What would she do? Meeting him was a bad idea, but things had ended so poorly. Maybe she could explain it in a way that wouldn't hurt anyone. She had to try. Her eyes flashed to Altair briefly and then back to her phone. Temperance felt vaguely guilty.
There was no reason for her to be guilty. It's not like she was involved with anyone else. The brooding poet crossed her mind and she had to shake the thought away. There was nothing going on there. She wouldn't allow anything to go on and it wasn't like he had responded to her texts. Her eyes moved back to the phone screen as Heidi pulled herself upright.
She shoved her phone back into her pocket, not waiting for a response.

Heidi drifted in and out of consciousness. The sounds of voices made her finally stir. It took her a moment to put the pieces together. Where was she? Oh right! She glanced up to the bed above her head. She slept under Altair's hospital bed. He was really nice. He helped her relax and didn't turn her over to the doctors. Don't get your hopes up. He'll turn on you just like everyone else. You don't know that! He might not. The cheerleader might not either. Yes she will. She already laughed at you once. Shh! I'm not talking to you.
Heidi crawled out from under the bed, poking her head between Temperance's feet. What had they been talking about while she slept? You, of course! You don't know that! She watched as the green-eyed beauty lifted her feet onto the bed and she pulled herself into a standing position. They looked like they might have been deep in conversation, at least until she interrupted. "H-hi...did I interrupt?"
Her chocolate eyes flashed between them nervously. All she wanted was for one person to not think of her as some crazy freak and annoying them wasn't going to help the situation. Heidi wished she could just disappear. She still needed to escape. The doctor's got in her way yesterday and she didn't make it out the doors. There was so much that had to be done before they ran out of time.

Altair smiled thoroughly enjoying himself. He was still quite grateful that Temperance was here and he really like having her around even though she could be quite bitchy. Glancing over at Temperance's annoyed look, Altair began to chuckle again "sorry sorry I'm just kidding around" Altair said with a smile as he noticed the awakening figure of Heidi "ah yes that is a good idea" Altair said as he turned his attention to Heidi "hey there, hope you had a nice nap" Altair said with a smile

He had to word it right, he wasn't exactly sure what her deal was but he didn't want to set her off. "Now before Temperance entered the room you told me that this C person was threatening to harm people if you didn't solve some mystery...tell me more about it, tell me everything. When you learned about it, how you learned about it...every detail you can" Altair said with a smile. Though it was a serious conversation he had to at least keep the carefree atmosphere before things when awry.

For now he would wait for her answer but the hum of Temperance's phone reached his ear and he glanced over at Temperance. Upon this he noticed her glance over at him and he glanced back very calm. Something was up, something that brought the girl unease. "Something wrong?" Altair said.

Temperance looked between the two. Heidi appeared nervous and on edge. She didn't personafy that happy-go-lucky girl she had met briefly before. The phone buzzed again, but she didn't take it out to look at it. It was an obvious yes, probably followed by a question as to why she was at the hospital in the first place. "Something wrong?" Altair was as prying as cherno.

She pursed her lips and forced out a smile. "No. Of course not." Her gaze moved to heidi. What was the crazy girl hiding? What she she been going through while the rest of them suffered? Temperance felt the kick of nausea hit her stomach again and her hand flung up to her mouth. She covered her and took deep breaths.

Heidi began rubbing her hands profusely. He wanted to know what she had been doing. Should I tell them? Of course not, unless you want them to leave. They will definitely leave us if you tell them. You don't know that! Her teeth sink into her tanned lip and she began pacing in circles. "You...you have to promise." Her eyes were pleading with altair as she walked passed him. Would he run away?

Heidu took a deep breath and stopped pacing. Her fingers kept rubbing her knuckles, but she stood in place, legs shaking nervously. "I got an email, about a week and a half ago. It had lots of rules and said i have 100 days to live. That's okay. I'm not afraid to die, but...but..." she trailed off and her eyes glazed over at the memory. A tremor ran down her spine and she had to grip the railing running along the side of the bed to maintain balance. "I...I wanted to help. To show the others that there's nothing to be afraid of. And use my super detective skills to help get to the bottom of this mysterious C person, but my aunt..." she choked up. "My aunt thought i was making it up. That i was just...just having an episode, so they took me away. They brought me back here to the hospital. The evil doctors said i couldn't leave until i admitted that i was imagining it. They've kept me trapped...trapped since yesterday when the silly intern forgot to tie my wrist straps. Those scary straps." Heidi was gone. Her mind was so trapped in the past that her face went blank. Her eyes were vacant like a corpse with a glossy expression across her face. Way to go. I applaud you. So much for making friends. They will never like you now. Why can't you just go away?! Do you really want us to? You'll be all alone if we leave. Why were they always so right? They constantly had the right answers.

"Yes...I promise" Altair said as he listened to the girls words. He listened and in the end his suspicions were true, her name hadn't been on the email that was sent and she was one of the unknown amount of people that were not on the list of names. The sadness on her face, it was upsetting to the teen. "I see then..." Altair said with a sigh but then looked over her with a smile "don't worry though I believe you, your not the only one to have gotten the email and the two of us know exactly what your talking about" Altair said.

Standing up from his chair, Altair suddenly reached for the nearby cane that was left for him. Altair really didn't need it, but it did feel nice to have to have something he could whack somebody with. With a smile he placed his hand on his shoulder and smiled a big smile "Don't you worry, stick with me and I will help you out" Altair said as he turned away "I need to head outside, I'll be back in a bit" Altair said.

Why did he suddenly feel sick upon saying that...did he somehow find interest in the girl's state of mind...did he find interest in the fate that would await her...

"Temperance...lets talk outside for a bit" Altair said suddenly. The calm and cool tone of voice that Altair had always used turned to a very cold one. Not waiting for the girl's reply he walked out of the room and leaned against the wall waiting for the girl.

LATEST TUMBLR UPDATE | OOC: day 3/3
    [IMG]
After their return, Madeline used the shower at Reuben's, changed into a pair of sweatpants and a sweater, and took off for the rest of the day. The wet streets of Coy City were mostly empty at this point. The flood had done more damage than she had thought and people were most likely still out of town from the evacuation or focusing on home repairs. She wondered when things would be back to normal, if ever.
She was slowly coming to grips with how long she had to live. She could only hope that she would be as oblivious to her death as Abby was to her's. M wasn't afraid of dying. She just didn't want to be caught off guard with it and to feel powerless.
Her main priority now was restoring her dignity. She had become awfully vulnerable around them. Those on the list... She was caught in a struggle between regretting her kindness and just letting it go. Her pride was below zero. She felt like nothing.
The emptiness in her chest refused to cease as she walked through the cold and to the nearest clothing store. She missed her car, but Reuben had promised her that if she worked diligently, she could be making enough money to replace her car with a new one--or at least a moped of some sort. She wasn't sure how old you had to be to drive one of those. She hated her age. She wondered briefly if there was a deal that could be made with Crestatia to change that.
Deals. She wanted so badly to call Crestatia out, but she didn't know how. She wondered if the only way to do it was to kill someone with another around for her to possess.
Her cheeks twitched with a tired smile, but she forced it back as she filled a small shopping basket with clothes and essentials. She would be going home, someday. Until then, she would be staying with Reuben. It was closer to Bellhurst, and she could work easier if she stayed with him. She would stock up on the things she needed and buy a new phone while she was out.

Anthony replied warily. He obviously didn't get enough sleep. Brian was concerned, but it was expected. He hadn't gotten much sleep himself lately, so it was only natural others wouldn't as well. He spoke up, "Do you have everyone's numbers? Because, basically, I got a text from my mom and she told me that those affected by the flood would be able to head to the hot springs for free. So, I was thinking that I could arrange for all of us to meet there so we can talk stuff out." Brian imagined himself relaxing in a warm and bubbly bath of heaven. It made him smile slightly.

Brian's thought drifted. Part of him wanted to go out and inspect the damage this storm did to Coy City, but it was probably not safe. Better to stay on the safe side. Well, the sixteen year old wasn't much a risk taker anyway. He had no drive to cause trouble; it would only lead to terrible, terrible things. The memory sent shivers throughout his body, resulting a brief, but violent, spasm. He hoped Anthony didn't notice. He gulped.

Jumping up Anthony felt as if he suddenly had the power of a thousands suns. "YEAH LET'S DO IT." Instead of telling Brian all the numbers, since saying those got annoying, he snatched the other boy's cell from his hand instead. Rudeness? What the hell was that?

With it he easily entered the numbers of everyone he had, which was basically everyone from the email originally. Once that was finished he handed the phone back to Brian and jumped to his feet. "I've never been to a hot springs. Is it cool? Will there be food? Wow this is going to be fun."

Anthony's enthusiasm was certainly contagious. Brain giggled slightly as the boy snatched his phone and quickly inputted all the numbers. How did he do that so fast? It was like Brian blinked and the process was completed. Springing to his feet, Anthony handed back Brian his phone. He observed it and made a special folder entitled "The Cursed" for everyone in Crestatia's game. It was morbid, but it made sense and was the only name he could think of at the moment. Maybe he'd rename it to something happier, but how could you make this whole situation happy anyway?

Brian send a text to everyone rapidly and was expecting a slur of incoming messages soon. He hoped everyone still had their phones safe from the flood water, as Brian's was. He felt lucky to still have his phone; he felt so... incomplete, almost, without it. With Anthony off the couch, Brian took a seat and crossed his legs elegantly, looking to Anthony. Surely he'd have another funny comment to say.

The gun. The gun was useful to take out her legs. Yes, but the knife...oh the knife was so much more fun.

Elizabeth sat in an ally, with wide eyes and a grin. It was a shame she had to throw that jacket into the bay, it was new after all. But that amount of blood could never be washed it could it? So it only seemed like the smart thing to do.

But now she shivered. It was just so cold...

'Please don't kill me. I didn't mean it I swear! I didn't mean-' Then the girl's pleads became screams. Those screams were so pleasant to listen to, so much so that Elizabeth couldn't help but to laugh. Oh but time was always a problem, forcing her to be in and out as quick as possible. Maybe next time she'd take them to a place where no one can hear them...

The blood had been washed from her hands but staring at them now she swore she could still see it. Everywhere...it's everywhere... I need to get away from it. I need to get safe.

Standing now she rushed away from her spot, going out to find a new place to spend the night.

    [ LEVEL ELEVEN - BGM11 - STATUS: WOO - UPDATE: N/A ]

Without an answer he remained in the dark about how hot springs worked, but smiled nonetheless. Oh. It was soon wasn't it? Brian didn't say when but it had to be coming up sometime soon. So he needed to get ready!

But all of his stuff was gone... He could keep borrowing clothes from The Prince but it wasn't right. A hero did not take to charity so easily, not when they were as powerful as he. It meant they could get money of their own. So...time for some help!

"I need this again," he mumbled, snatching the phone. "Don't worry, last time." He said with a sly grin. Hopefully this would impress The Prince enough for him to forget about his freeloading.

He dialed a number quickly, saying only 'I need clothes and a phone. No there has to be a jacket. Yeah, thanks. No of course I'll fight you later, if you don't cry after I crush you,' before hanging up and giving the phone back to Brian. He jumped around while waiting for his contact to come through. When they did, not too long afterwards, the doorbell ran but when Anthony opened it there was no one there. It was just a bag on the doorstep.

"Sweet!" He shouted before running back into the living room with the bag, picking out a jacket from it. It was just like his old one! Man he really was in debt now.

Temperance scowled. She didn't take kindly to being told what to do. What was with these losers lately? They all thought they could boss her around. Her foot would need to come down soon. She needed to show them who the person in charge really was. This, however, did give her her opportunity to exit. She gathered up her things and shoved them in the backpack quickly.

Heidi moved over to a chair in the corner of the room, clutching her hair once more. She had to look away from the mentally disturbed girl. Her chest tightened and temperance prayed she would never have to see her again. It was a silly prayer, since they were bound to meet again, but she did hope. She shouldered the bag and walked out the door, following after Altair. "What do you want now?"

she pursed her lips in frustration and ran her fingers through her tangled, braided hair. There was another buzz in her pocket, but she ignored it for now. Josh would be here soon. The cool air outside felt nice. It felt refreshing not being stuffed in that horrible hospital room, now if only she could ditch him. Then things would be perfect.

the cool air nipped at her face and she could already feel her cheeks reddening. It was definitely December, after all. How long did they have before it snowed again? If the temperature dropped a few more degrees, all the floodwater would begin to freeze. Her phone kept buzzing and she finally pulled it out. There was a text from an unknown number. She clicked open to read it.
Brian? How on earth did he get her number? She furrowed her brow and tucked the phone away in her pocket. Why would she want to go there with the rest of them? Every time they got together in a big group, someone died. Not to mention, she didn't like any of them. Why would she want to hang out?

Altair crossed his arms as he waited outside for the girl to appear. Once she made it outside Altair closed his eyes "Alright I'll make this quick, first of all I wish to ask you one thing...is something wrong? You've been acting so sick lately and here you are...in the hospital" Altair said calmly as he stared up at her with his cold golden eyes "You don't have to tel me, just ignore it if you feel like it" Altair said. At the moment he really didn't feel like putting up with Temperance's shit when he was trying to help her.

Not waiting for the girl's response Altair closed his eyes "the second reason I dragged you out here is I wanted to see if you found the mistake that Heidi made. Recall the first rule: Do not tell anybody....She told her aunt and to an extension the psychiatrists as well" Altair said as he opened his eyes "Either she will die soon...or maybe the rules are not so absolute and there is some leeway...possibly, some of these rule can be fake" Altair said.

Altair's question put a hitch in her breathing. She wouldn't tell him. He was foolish for even asking. "It does't matter," she mumbled. His eyes kept close watch on her and it made temperance squirm slightly. Why did he even care? She couldn't keep it, so there was no point in telling anyone. it was a monster embedded inside of her. She bit her lip wishing for a change of subject and fortunately, it came.

do not tell anyone... he had a point. She would never admit it, but he did. Heidi told her aunt and wound up in the hospital. There was another, more likely, answer to Altair's question. She shoved her hands in her jean pockets and leaned against the hospital wall. The chill helped settle her stomach, for now, and gave her a moment to think. There was so much they were all in the dark about. Just because they now knew all the rules, didn't mean they fully understood them.

Temperance shook her head and inhaled deeply. "What if this was her punishment?" She pulled her hand out and gestured to the building behind her. "If we do what Crestatia tells us, then it's supposed to be quick and painless, right? Well, maybe death isn't the only punishment, especially to those that are okay with dying. Heidi told and got locked up. It was clearly torture to her. She endured her punishment and is now being allowed to leave. To meet with the rest of us. Kind of like how you showed Quintus kindness for saving her. Now you're cursed and the rest of us might be cursed too."

Temperance began to pace in circles on the concrete. Her heart was beating rapidly as her temper slowly began to raise-- not at Altair, but at the situation. She bit her lip and took in another deep breath. "She doesn't want us gathering together. Every time we get together as a large group, someone dies. First Ash and Xavier and then Abby. We're all safer apart."

She stopped pacing briefly to pull out her phone again. "That's why this," she paused to show him the text from Brian, "is a horrible idea. Obviously if she just killed us every time we broke a rule, then she would have to start all over. There wouldn't be any game pieces left. Some rules must just be more important than others."

John did everything in his power to help out Mr. Shannery and his cathedral. Nothing was going on this day but he just wanted to forget so bad that he didn't care what task was set before him. He mindlessly put his back into it, his stood on ladders, using the special things need to clean the stained glass windows. He'd remember this time and say "I looked Jesus in the face." He smiled softly and continued to scrub the messiah's hair and the sun made of glass that shined brightly behind him. It was still so early, he could feel sweat accumulate on his brow, and there was still so much to do. He was breathing faster, he could feel the sweat drop down his cheek, he swallowed hard though, and ignored it. 'The Lord's glass is more important then your face, calm down!'

With those words he began to climb down the ladder, shifting it before moving it to the right, and working on the next one. Good thing heights didn't scare him.

xxxxxxxxxx Harley was pleased to see that Tyler was shaken by his appearance, but he did best not to let on. After all, Tyler still thought he was a good person - or at least didn't completely put him down as someone dangerous. Better that way, the kid was safer. Still, he had his hands on Kallisti's and and Harley secretly glowered at him. If he knew what was best, he'd let go of her hands, " Of course, yeah. " he acknowledged cheerfully, " I'll just . . . let you finish. I have some business with Kallisti of my own. Please, though, take your time, no worries. "

To both his amusement and his chargin, Tyler seemed extremely comfortable around Kallisti, there was only the bond of friendship between them - he thought - but it was strong, and Tyler seemed protective. Harley didn't think he was Kallisti's type, since a good part of the time, she preferred girls, like the lovely but broken Madeline or the graceful, sister-complexed Aileen. Oh yes, Harley knew about them, too. Perhaps the attention-seeking Brian, as well - but Brian was more of Harley's type - small, submissive, self-conscious. He was adorable.

" I'll be waiting in the kitchen, Kallisti. " Harley told her with a smile, and then he walked out of the room. Tyler would leave, soon. In the meantime, his phone was vibrating in his pocket, and so he took it out to see who it was. . . . Oh, it was Peter. What did he want? Oh, just a text message.

    Even better.

He looked at his watch after putting away his phone - Tyler had ten minutes to get his little lovebird-friend deal finished, and then he was out of here. Can't have him around to know the dirty little secrets, could he?

Aileen sighed, standing outside her parents' room. She was tired, but it was the last room she had to clean so she decided to go ahead and clean it. Don't need one room looking like a mess while the others are clean...

She turned the doorknob and gently pushed the door away from her, stopping it before it hit the wall behind it. Stepping into the room, she looked around. Nothing had really changed from the last time she had visited. It was awhile, but then again her parents were not very disorganized people to begin with. She walked towards the dresser and swiped her index finger on the surface. Dust. Guess they haven't had much time to clean. She used the duster and clearing off the dust off the top of it.

How long has it been since they've cleaned? How long has it been since I've been in here? For some reason, Aileen found herself asking these questions. Alice and I used to come here all the time. Why did we stop? Ah! She stared at the middle drawer of the dresser. It had been at least 5 years since she had actually set foot in her parents' room. For the past few years, she had seen into it from the door, but hadn't entered it. It was because of the middle drawer.

"Alice! Where did you hide it?!" Aileen asked. The two sisters were playing a game where they hid each other's things. It was Alice's turn to hide one of Aileen's thing- her favorite blue hairpin. She searched her parents' room frantically.

While she looked under the bed, her sister replied, "You're getting closer!" Aileen looked up at her Alice then at the only thing she hadn't searched. The dresser! She ran towards and and grabbed onto the first handle she got her hands onto. She was going to pull it open but...

"Aileen Elise Li! Get yourself away from there NOW!" It was her mother. Aileen's eyes widened as she stepped away from the dresser and turned to face her mother. She glanced over at Alice, who looked frightened as well. Her mother had never raised her voice like that. Ever.

Remembering that made her curious. Not only did she want her hairpin back, she wanted to know what was in there. What made her mother so angry. She grabbed onto the dresser handle with her right hand, and pulled it open. There was no one home. No one to stop her.

There were clothes inside the drawer. That's weird... Aileen searched through the dresser. She lifted some of the clothes to see if anything was under them. She then saw a shimmer. My Clip! She smiled as she lifted more clothes to pick it up. Oh, what's this?

There was a thin, leather covered book under her clip. Aileen put the hair clip in her pajama pocket, and picked up the book. While flipping through it, a photograph dropped out of the book. Hmm? It was a baby photo. The baby had an adorable, round face that made Aileen smile. The baby's face was too round to be hers, so was it Alice's photo? Aileen decided to read the page that the photo had fallen out of. As she read more and more, she lost her smile. She flipped quickly through the pages, reading as much as she could. This...can't be.

Aileen used her knee to shut the drawer, and walked out of her parents' room. She then heard the front door chime. What a coincidence. She began to walk down the stairs with the book behind her back. She plastered on a smile on her face.

"Aileen, how are you? Were you okay?" Her mother asked. Her father was standing behind her with his hand on the wall taking off his boots.

"I'm fine, Mother. But do tell me...When did you plan to tell me that Alice really isn't my sister," Aileen said coldly, throwing the book so that it slid to her parents.

Cristina and Jeremy made it back to the orphanage and entered through the front doors. There waiting was Tamora, who raised her left eyebrow when she saw them. She changed that expression immediately, however, as she smiled and ran to hug Jeremey. "Do you have my present?" Tamora asked in a whiny voice.

Cristina took a few steps back and slid her shoes off. Disgusting. She rolled her eyes and walked towards the kitchen. Dinner at the orphanage was always full of conversation. The kids talked about many different things, that Cristina wished she could join in on. It was a nuisance to take out her device and try to communicate, though. No matter how fast she could type, they all talked too fast for her to keep up.

After dinner, Cristina went up to her room, brushed her teeth and got changed. Sitting on her bed with her sketchbook in her hands, she decided to draw a tree outside that was swaying in the wind. Peace and Qu-

"What were you doing with Jeremy today?" Tamora said, walking in and shutting the door. Cristina thought too soon. Cristina flipped to the last page of her sketchbook and wrote her reply. She held it up for Tamora to see.

We only walked back here together. He offered. Nothing happened. Tamora scoffed, and Cristina tried her best to hold onto an expressionless face. It was hard not to laugh at her roommates utter ridiculousness.

"Nothing better have happened," Tamora said sternly. She ended with that and walked into the bathroom. Once she shut the door, Cristina mockingly imitated her. She stuck out her tongue at the door. Whatever. I'm going to bed before she starts ranting.

[Tumblr OOTD OOC: adding this here cuz i'm tired and so is Aileen >:]

Her mother stood still, dumbfounded, with her mouth open. Her father's hand slid down the wall as he stood back up. Aileen watched as her parents looked at each other, wondering how they should react, how they should respond. The entire house was silent. Frustrated, Aileen bit her lip and looked away from her parents. She couldn't take it anymore. "So it's true," she muttered under her breath. This is ridiculous.

Her mother spoke, "Aileen please...I- we.." Her words were disconnected and incoherent, which was not like her mother.

Her father then walked towards her, picking up the book she had thrown. "Aileen, your mother and I are both tired. Let's discuss this in the morning. Alright?"

"Fine. The morning," Aileen agreed. They had kept this from her for sixteen years already, one more night wouldn't hurt. She turned her head back to face her parents. "We'll talk tomorrow, but I do hope that Alice knows about this."

Aileen examined her mother's face. It was a face full of guilt. Aileen sighed. So she doesn't know yet, huh?"Regardless, you two should have your dinner. I already ate, so I'm just going to go to my room now," Aileen lied. She was not in the mood to eat- or spend time with her parents.

As she walked back upstairs to her room, she could feel the eyes of her parents watching her. She did her best to ignore them. Entering her room, she shut the door behind her and locked it. She then brushed her teeth and slipped into bed. She wanted to go to sleep immediately, but it was hard with all of the thoughts running through her head.

Alice isn't really my sister. Alice isn't related to me. Alice should know this. Alice doesn't know this. Alice should be a stranger. Why do they look up to a stranger? Why do they treat a stranger so well? Why do they treat this stranger better than they treat their own daughter? Why? Why? Why?

    Kallisti.
"Of course, yeah. I'll just . . . let you finish. I have some business with Kallisti of my own. Please, though, take your time, no worries."
    ...
"I'll be waiting in the kitchen, Kallisti."
It finally clicked in Tyler's mind one of the things that seemed to bother him about Harley. It was a small detail... but suddenly painstakingly obvious. Nobody could have blamed him if he'd never have noticed, but this was Tyler... he DID notice. He could almost kick himself that it had escaped his attention of sorts until now.
    ...Kallisti - Quin's first name.
A memory that Tyler had always been fond of struck him at this particular moment.

Quin had never liked anybody using her first name. Nearly everyone who knew Quin would know that. Especially someone like Harley who was 'apparently' close to her. And yet... he used her first name constantly - by choice. Tyler could understand if older members of the family still stuck to using Kallisti as he knew Quin's father sometimes did, and he knew that Quin's grandmother (Tyler didn't like her) did too. But Harley... you would think him to be different, especially if he cared about how Quin felt like he 'seemed' to. It could just be a coincidence of course. Tyler could be reading it wrong. ...But, the way Harley used her first name... it was almost like he enjoyed defying Quin's wishes and made a point to do so on purpose, enjoying the hold and effect that it seemed to have on her.
Tyler kept such thoughts tucked away in his mind as Harley left the room. He took a deep breath for a second and looked back to Quin. The deepest part of his emotions felt dead, and he himself felt nauseous holding himself back as he was, but still... he took that deep breath and steeled himself, keeping himself strong for her sake. "You alright?" he asked, albeit he made no distinction on whether it was a general question or whether it was related to Harley's appearance from before.
He paused for a moment, still all too aware that his hands were on hers and met her gaze once more. "Listen... You and I both know that we've been dragged into something bigger than the both of us here. Where we're being used as mere pawns for the entertainment of some deranged witch or whatever the hell she is." he commented.

"But... Nothing has changed between you and I. Even though everything is changing around us as we speak. Even if the world were to split in two tomorrow and destroy everything we've ever known. Even if the whole world were to turn against us. It doesn't matter one damn bit." his words were suddenly stronger, and more confident. "No matter what has happened or will happen. I've already told you this, and I'll tell you again and anyone else, no matter how many times I have to; I won't ever give up on you." he stood up, gently pulling Quin up with him. "Just goddammit Quin." somehow he forced a smirk out, and it was completely genuine. "You're my best friend in the whole world. The person I trust more than anyone in my life. My closest companion. Do you really think that our friendship would be broken that easily?" the words came easily, all of them meant with every ounce of strength that remained in his heart. "I don't care what the hell we have to face in the future. Whether we only have One Hundred Days left or just Ten. We could have One Hundred Years. We could be staring death in the face. ...None of that matters. Just remember this already. I've got your back like I know you'd have mine. No one is gonna get in the way of that. Not Crestatia. Not the Damn Old Man down the road. Not Harley or anyone. Not the president. Nobody." He had to wonder as he spoke, just when this girl had become so important to him like this. He himself didn't know, but as long as he could remember, it had always been him and her side by side. "We've come too far to just... quit, you know?" his smirk turned into more of a warm smile. It was kinda surprising that despite the pain of losing Abby, Tyler was able to smile like this. But that just seemed to be the power Quin had on him. "So yeah. That's all I have to say on the matter. You know me, Quin. Better than anyone in fact. This is just the way I am. Others can look at me as a fool or whatever for being like this. But... that's just how it is. If it meant betraying who I am and betraying you. Betraying our friendship... Then I want to remain a fool for my whole life."

"Good point" Altair said as listened to her theory of Heidi's punishment. What she said had a high possibility and he wouldn't be surprised if it turned out true. "Crestatia...the rules she has placed, she can change them whenever she wishes" Altair said closing his eyes. "The rules she has placed right now may very well be mere guidelines that she wishes to see us follow" Altair said. "We are all pawns and she merely wishes to watch us act in this game of life" Altair said. When the news of a text appeared Altair opened his eyes. Since he only just got his new phone there was no way that he could get the text.

Glancing over Altair glanced over at the text message a new idea soon formed in the mind of Altair "Your right...it is a horrible idea, but its an idea that i believe needs to be tested" Altair said closing his eyes once more. "We can cower and avoid ourselves as long as we can, but the moment Crestatia looses interest in a pawn then its the end. Experimentation is needed" Altair said as he suddenly smirked a sinister smirk "besides, I'm a cursed man...just what exactly is my curse? I need to know...maybe I can turn it to a boon?...there is many possibilities for the future" Altair said.

WEARING!!LATEST TUMBLR UPDATE OOC: day ends tomorrow! late afternoon
Her trip to the shop and then to the mall resulted in three very-much-needed things; clothes, a phone, and a hair cut (Reuben would not like that).

It felt good. She felt good--on top of all of the emptiness. It had been years since she went shopping like this. She had worked hard for this money, and she would continue to do so--especially if it meant restoring her pride. During her time shopping, she had considered and come to several conclusions.

    • She still hated everyone. They were all idiots and she was undeniably better or smarter than all of them in some way shape or form.
    • Quin was most definitely excluded from that hatred.
    • There was no need to be afraid of death, as Thomas seemed to be protecting her somehow. After the storm incident, he seemed to accept that she was not completely ready to die anymore.
    • If Thomas was helping her from the other side, then there was a boosted chance in her winning this game.
    • Despite her hatred, there was no reason to treat the other's cruelly. In fact, the opposite should be happening--as the majority of them seemed capable of benefiting her in some way. In other words, those with nothing to offer her deserved the full blast of her true feelings. They should know just how useless they are. However, those who can be used to her advantage should be treated with kindness--this will prevent her from wondering how she should treat people. Worthless until proven otherwise.
    • Being around them started to change her, because she spent more time reconsidering everything based off of their feelings instead of being confident in her own like before. She should not let them confuse her any longer.
    • Bonding and..."friendship"...was a good thing! She wanted to have someone to jump in-front of an arrow for her if anything like what happened to Quin were to happen again.
    • She would kill if she had to kill. She would fuck if she had to fuck. Anything necessary.
And so it begun, again. These evaluations...She would have to be smart about this if she planned on surviving--but she couldn't suppress everything anymore. She figured she may change her mind about some things in the future, but until then, this is the way she would play. She could only hope that it would provide interesting for Crestatia.

    "I am home, Reuben."

She slipped her wet shoes off by the door, burying her nose deeper into her scarf as the usual scents of Reuben's apartment assaulted her.

"What's all this?" His tone was sharp and a bit sarcastic; green eyes from the loveseat locked on the bags she was carrying. "Jesus, how much did you make last night?"

She bit her tongue hard. Reuben was paid, and then he paid her--that was how things worked, for the most part. But he wasn't her pimp, and she was very used to sneaking off and making a few on the side. It was especially easy to do so at a party, or a club. She was grateful that all of her ... clients ... thus far had been pretty decent human beings. They came with the money.

It just took a bit of persuasion and then she was paid. Reuben had yet to introduce her to a less timid crowd--as he was secretly just as timid. Drugs, alcohol, sex. It was simple. They were usually pretty normal young people just looking for a good time. The college crowd. It was incredibly easy work...Especially when they were emotional. She visibly sulked upon remembering the various instances of crying and emotional vents that had been thrown at her.

Reuben accepted her silence and whipped out a cigarette.

    "Want one?"

She set her bags down against the wall and shrugged off her jacket, nodding. His eyes followed her and he pat the cushion next to him. She sat obediently and parted her lips to accept the stick-of-cancer. He lit it and then lit his own, staring down at the coffee table. She didn't know why he was home, or why he was just sitting here. It was a little creepy so she tried to take her mind off of it by inhaling deeply and leaning back into the disgusting couch. It baffled her. She knew she wasn't the only girl he had around, so she wondered what exactly he put all of his money into if not his apartment. Her mind flashed back to his Lexus and she nearly let a chuckle escape her.

    "When are you going home?"

    "...Do you want me out?"

"Sometimes." He grinned, but she didn't see it. "I'd help you get your own place, but you're not old enough. You're sixteen, right? You can't stay here forever. "

    "Not planning to."

    "Then...?"

    "I'll go back home soon."

There was a bit of silence, and then he exhaled in a way she couldn't tell apart from a sigh. This was fucking awkward. She pulled her scarf away from her neck, as being so close to...him...was warming her up. Reuben glanced at her...Then his eyes flashed.

    "Jesus! Your hair!"

    "Yes, my hair."

"Why? It was so long and...pretty! God damn! ...Now you look like a lesbian."

She couldn't help but genuinely laugh. She turned herself to face him and smiled, blowing a puff of the scent that made her want to hurl his way.

"You don't think I'm pretty anymore, Reu?" She purred, removing the cigarette from her mouth and dragging her tongue slowly over her pouting top lip. His face went pale and he turned away, suddenly beginning to bounce one of his legs up and down to no particular rhythm. The end of his cigarette went red and he snorted.
They sat there in a more comfortable silence now, oddly. She was happy to have missed out on the rage that could have been.

    "...You tired?"

    "I am."

"You can sleep with me in the bedroom, then. Instead of out here. If you want."

"Your right...it is a horrible idea, but its an idea that i believe needs to be tested" Altair said closing his eyes once more. "We can cower and avoid ourselves as long as we can, but the moment Crestatia looses interest in a pawn then its the end. Experimentation is needed"

There was a bitter taste in Temperance's mouth. She didn't like the sound of it one bit. These weren't people she would normally attend the Resort with. Nor did gathering with them sound like an intelligent idea. She had been there a few times with Lindsey and Josh, but no one outside of her circle. Maybe she would consider it, maybe. It would be nice to relax, but there wasn't time for that. She had more important matters to attend to. "I'll...think about it. There are more important things going on."

His smirk made her feel uncomfortable. She shifted nervously at the thought of the curse. "We wouldn't want you screwing the rest of us over with your curse." To that, she managed to soften her scowl, just a hair, but soften none the less. A small hand took hold of her shoulder and she jumped. Turning, Temperance noticed a small familiar figure panting and out of breath. Had she just run through the hospital?

"I...I was afraid...I thought I was being left behind...Wanted to escape." Right. She was crazy, after all. Altair would obviously have to go back inside. It was amazing he even managed to walk out the front door without being yelled at to get back to bed. Heidi stood in front of them, wearing only her hospital gown. Her feet were still bare, and she appeared to be freezing. Temperance sighed and did the one nice thing she could manage to muster; she gave the girl her sweatshirt.

"It's not much, but here. Warm up." Her eyes moved to the parking lot as a tan BMW Crossover pulled up near the doors. Oh how she had come to miss that suv. A shiver went down her spine and she felt a whole new wind of nerves blow through her. She nodded to Altair and her eyes flashed back to Heidi. "That's my ride. He'll fill you in on what we talked about. Listen closely." Her lips pursed one last time before she took off in the direction of the vehicle. The cold air was already giving her chills, but at least she would be in warmth soon.
    {tumblrPsychosis-NormalMood-Relaxed}

Heidi had stood once they left the room. Anxiety began to consume her. What did they want to talk about in private? Would they come back? Was it just a trick to get away from her? You know it is! The voices hissed in her ears. She was doing her best to fend off their incessant attacks on her mind. After awhile, she couldn't take it any longer. Her whole goal was to escape the hospital, after all. She would continue with that mission.

Heidi crept out of the room and down the hall. It was crawling with medical staff and she had to keep ducking in and out of rooms. She was a resourceful schizophrenic. The voices helped point out things she didn't initially take note of. They wanted her out as badly as she did. Being locked up didn't benefit them. Her feet padded the tile floors of the hospital as she ran briskly. They wouldn't catch her this time. Nope, nope, nope. I will make it. You better. Shh...

The doors were a few yards away the nurse sat there at her desk diligently. She never seemed to move or take her eyes off it. The evil witch watched the doors like Cerberus guarding the entrance to the Underworld. Finally, someone came in and began to talk to her. It was her big break and Heidi took full advantage of it. She broke out into a full blown sprint and ran across the waiting room. Once outside, she was blasted with cold air that stung every inch of her body. Her feet began to freeze first, touching the cold concrete.

There, across the way, was Altair and Temperance. They hadn't left. They were still talking. That was a good sign. She closed the distance between herself and them, resting her hand on Temperance's shoulder to catch her breath. "It's not much, but here. Warm up." The cheerleader gave her, her sweatshirt! Maybe she's not so bad. Don't kid yourself. She's terrible. You should do away with her like the others. No! I won't... The cheerleader left. There was a car waiting for her and she left, leaving her with Altair.

What could they have been talking about? He was supposed to fill her in? That's what Temperance told her. What was going on. "H-hi..." she said sheepishly. It was still far too cold outside, but she didn't want to go back into the hospital. Not now, not ever.

    ******************

Temperance crawled into the passenger seat of Josh's car. He glanced at her once, then returned his gaze to the parking lot. The tires squealed as he sped away quickly. She couldn't help but take a second look back at Altair and Heidi. What was wrong with her? Distance. Distance between herself and everyone else. It's what's best. "What were you doing with Geise?" Oh. His question pulled her out of her reverie. What did it matter to him? They were broken up, after all.

"I ran into him here. Total coincidence. So we started talking while I waited for you to show up." Okay, so honesty wasn't the road she was going down, but it wasn't a complete lie. She began to fidget again. Everyone was making her so uncomfortable lately. Her hands were red from being cold, but stayed red as she continued to rub them vigorously. "So...what did you want to talk about?"

His eyes grazed over her once more, then shifted back to the road ahead. "Everyone was wondering what happened to you. You just kind of disappeared after we broke up."

"There's been a lot going on. I wasn't really in the mood for school, ya' dig?" Oh god?! What did she just say? It just slipped out. What was wrong with her? He looked over at her questioningly, but let it slide. Thank god! How could something like that actually come out of her mouth. There was only one person who said weird things like that. The golden eyes flashed across her mind briefly and shook it away. "I uh...I mean...with us breaking up, and that explosion at the diner, and the flood...it was just...hard to find time for school. Plus, there's been...family issues." He knew never to question family issues.

They drove in silence for a bit. What was he thinking? Her heart pounded in her chest and she could feel her face flush. "Where are we going?"

"Not sure. Is there somewhere you have in mind?"

She thought for a moment. One place did come to mind. Her stomach was still bothering her and it had been so long since she had to smoke. Temperance didn't like the idea of going there with Josh though. He didn't know, or if he did, he didn't show it. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and tapped open the message icon.
Temperance tucked it back into her pocket without waiting for a response. Reuben was a bit of a lowlife, but he was reliable. She never had to wait on him and he was always in stock. He made her feel uncomfortable and his home was disgusting, but he always seemed to be there if she needed an immediate hook-up. That was more than she could say for the various other dealers that were stored in her phonebook. "Yeah. There is some place. It's a friend's house. If you could drop me off there, I'd appreciate it."

It wasn't like she was staying there or anything, and she had no destination in mind after she got what she needed, but at least it would mean getting rid of Josh. Something just didn't feel right being with him. She gave him the directions and the car made an immediate left turn down a busy street. "I wanted to apologize. For how we left things."

"Well apology accepted," she snapped. He treated her unfairly. She did nothing wrong to him and he treated her like shit. It wasn't her fault they had to break up. It was Crestatia's, but there was no way she could explain that to him. Temperance didn't want to find out what sort of punishment she would receive for telling Josh the truth. There was more awkward silence as he pulled up to the building. "You can tell everyone I'm fine Josh. Thanks for the ride."

He put the suv in park and grabbed her hand, keeping her from leaving the vehicle. There was a mixture of annoyance and remorse blatantly plastered across his face. "I really am sorry. You should stay here. We can actually talk."

Temperance shook her head and snatched her hand away. "No. I tried to talk to you nearly two weeks ago and you wouldn't listen. I never cheated on you, like you did to me. And yet, you kept trying to accuse me of doing so; and with Plume." She couldn't bring herself to call him Cherno. Not right now. It would only fuel Josh's fire. Her hand felt for the door handle and she thrust it open rather forcefully. "Goodbye Josh."

The car door slammed shut and she marched across the street to Reuben's front door. She still wasn't wearing a sweatshirt or jacket and a shiver went down her back. Not just from the cold, but because she was here. She hadn't been to Reuben's house in a few weeks, not since the last time something happened with him. Temperance had needed a fix stronger than pot to shake the unsettling, violated feeling that had been stored within her.

Her hand balled into a fist and she knocked lightly on the door three times, waiting for someone to answer.

With the discussion at its end, Altair opened his eyes and glanced back at Temperance. When she heard the girl speak to him about the curse Altair let out a small chuckle as the usual casual smile returned to his face. Before he could say anything he noticed an all too familiar face "H-Heidi?!" Altair said. After a quick moment Altair witnessed Temperance leave and with a friendly smile he waved at the girl as she left. Now all alone with Heidi, Altair had to start making some difficult decisions.

"Well...how to put this" Altair said with a sigh "remember what the email said? it said not to tell anybody and well...you did" Altair said as he began to rub his temples "you have to be more careful and well..follow the rules set out. You need to also keep it a secret" Altair said as he reached into his pocket "now...I am going to get us a ride, do you have anywhere we can drop you off?" Altair asked.
