    HOUSES ARE FLOODING!!

With the empty halls it felt as if everyone had already found somewhere safe. But there had been no announcements... In fact, with the water damage the intercom system was probably ruined. In which case there must have been another way everyone had received word on what to do. Where was the possible? Well the only answer to come to mind was the auditorium. Nothing else made sense.

So thinking that would be the best place to look first she headed there, hoping to find the teachers or at least someone who knew the full details about what was going on.

Ah! Good he picked up. However even after waiting for a moment there was no word on the other end. Was that a sign of something wrong? Either way now was hardly the time to hang up and try again latter.

Hoping for the best Anthony talked into the phone. "HELP! THERE'S WATER EVERYWHERE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO."

    HOUSES ARE FLOODING!!

    ...

    Fuck.

That voice. Was that Anthony? Goddamnit.

"Anthony!" Cherno yelled into the phone. "How-- how did you, get my number?!"

Wait. Did he say he was stuck in water? Oh. Oh shit. The water levels in the house actually were rising? Goddamnit. Ugh what would he do what could Cherno. He couldn't go off saving Anthony and leave Temperance even if his house was close. That also meant the school would probably, probably flood soon ...

Cherno took deep breaths. No panicking Cherno. No panicking.

He heard the familiar noise of a text message. Johnathan? Briefly pausing the call, he looked at his screen. Meet at the auditorium. Perfect. But ... Temperance ...

Right. First, he had to deal with the kid.

"Anthony," he said, in the calmest voice he could muster, which was still shaky with fear. "Anthony. Listen to me. Get-- get to the highest part of your house." He breathed in deeply. This could mean life and death for the kid. And -- and as much as Cherno disliked him, he really, really did not want to see the poor kid die. He wasn't that bad. "You've got choices. Signal for the police. And-- and head for the auditorium in the school. It's a shelter right now. If you don't get anyone ..."

Cherno thought about options. "Be quick. You're a small kid. Break off some wood from your -- from your house, somewhere, or even roofing shingles -- something that'll float. If you're low on time, hold onto that like your life depended on it. If you've got more time, make a raft ... somehow. Use rope. Something! Get here quickly, dammit. It sounds unrealistic, but -- but trust me on this, brother. The current ... if, if it hasn't changed, it should take you all the way to the house." Cherno looked out towards the window. The winds seemed to be rushing along the pane -- that looked west enough. "You'll cut the school close. If you can find something on the way that can take you there easier, do so."

Cherno paused for a moment. It was Anthony, after all. He then added:

"Alright, kid. I believe in you. You're smart. You've probably defeated all kinds of monsters before, right? This is going to be a really, really hard level, and you have no continues, no extra lives. You've gotta hold onto your raft, or flotation device, or whatever, like your final life depending on it. If you need to, use your best jumping level skills to jump from wherever to wherever. If you see any officers, make sure they come to you. They have power ups. To reach the end of the level, you have to get to the auditorium of Bellhurst High. You dig everything there, brother?"

Cherno looked back at the window. He was breathing heavily. Another life was in his hands, and he was the worst person to be handling things like this. Crack. Another flash of lightning lit the room, and the sky had turned a strange violet-red colour.

He wondered if Crestatia had anything to do with this.

    ...

    "Anthony."

    ...

    Cherno's hand was shaking.

"Anthony. It's ... it's entirely possible, in the school, you may face a boss. A boss you've probably seen before. So ... be prepared, kid. I'm counting on you."

Honestly? Honestly, Cherno was happy on the inside that Anthony had his number. But he would never show it.

He cut the call. Please, please, Anthony should be safe. Ugh. This was all terrible. Another crack of thunder. Cherno turned towards the gracefully sleeping Temperance. How in the world would he carry her? He peered around for anything -- anything ... hm! At the far end of the room, he spotted a stretcher. Leaping off the bed, he almost slipped on the wet floor. Goddamnit. He needed to be quick. He grabbed the stretcher and wheeled it to the bed, where Temperance sat, sleeping.

    Careful now.

Cherno slowly brought his arm below Temperance's knees and held her back tightly with his other, and lifted her up, bridal style. Aaaaack. This was -- this was ... At least, at least there was nobody to see him blushing. Good. P-perfect. She was surprisingly light, especially considering how Cherno barely had any strength to speak of. He gently rested her sleeping figure onto the stretcher. He placed her things next to her, as the stretcher was big enough --- or rather, she was simply just a bit small. Everything was set. Time to get to the auditorium.

He burst through the door of the infirmary, wheeling the stretcher with the sleeping Temperance throughout the damp hallways, the wheels almost slipping with how the school seemed to be getting more and more wet. Turn left. Right. Keep going ... keep going. He passed familiar lockers. Nobody here to disturb or bump into him at least. Left. Straight, straight, now finally a left--

    SHIT.

He almost slammed the stretcher into a white-haired man with a cane, aimlessly leaning on it, as if waiting for someone.

"YOU DAMN OLD MAN!" Cherno yelled, albeit a bit meekly.

    Wait.

He knew him. That white hair. Crisp gaze and eyes. His posture seemed to imply he was wise beyond his years. But he was definitely not an old man, let alone a damned one. He was at Lacey's! He was ... he was one of them. A young and nice-looking man.

    Oops. Smooth, Cherno. Real smooth.

And yet, he ... he barely knew this person. He was not sure if he remembered many tumblr interactions with him, let alone his name. Alaric? Auditore? Amaury? Pah. But he was at ... Lacey's as well.

    ...

Oh no. Johnathan, and this dude. Cherno shot a glance at him as he realized how suspicious things were turning. Thunder shook the entire school, and the lockers rattled very slightly, giving the entire hallway a snakelike impression.

"Hey, brother." He said, calmly. "S-sorry about that! This place makes me jumpy, I didn't mean it. P-please forgive me, brother. I'm in a bit of a rush, as you can see with sleeping beauty over here." He pointed at Temperance. "I don't think we really met on personal terms, but I know you're involved with this basic horse-popping hootenanny shit. You were at Lacey's too. I-- right. Yeah." Cherno looked down at the serene girl in the stretcher. To him, she looked undisturbed, but who knows what she was thinking about. He turned his head back towards the white-haired boy.

"I need to get there in a rush, but, I know that John-- uh," He probably didn't know about Johnathan much. "Uh, the religious nutcase, is in here and heading to the auditorium. I hope you've met some others too, but I'm going there right now. Please come when you can."

And with that, Cherno quickly moved past the young man and rushed off to the auditorium. Johnathan was going there. He wondered if the young man and Anthony could survive a few moments with him. Everyone else thought of him as insufferable. It was a bit of a shame too. Cherno looked down at Temperance. Oh lord, could she stand even a few seconds with him?

Cherno's feet tapped -- no, splashed against the wet floor of the school. The lights were no help here, as if they originally were trying to lead him and Temperance away from the auditorium. Everything around him was a blur, but finally, he saw the lit double doorway of the auditorium. Thank god!

Bursting in with the stretcher, he found it sparsely populated. Johnathan was there, and he let off a sly smirk. Looking around, he saw that a few others were sleeping -- oh, was that Brian and Aileen? And a third person he did not know the name of as well. Chevy Chase? That is all that came to his mind.

And it was only them right now, it appeared. Only the ones who were mentioned in the e-mail.

    ...

Cherno looked down at Temperance as he wheeled her stretcher next to Johnathan. What a fucking ridiculous slip-up to call her sleeping beauty. Even if she was. He-- he wasn't supposed to let his emotions show like that!

Tyler had spent some time in the day writing a fanfiction out by hand all about Crestatia and some members from the forum he visited sometimes, WWW.FF-Pics.Web
But suddenly... there was a problem... The water... it was rising?! "Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!" Right... panic time over...

    Or not. "Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!Ohfúck!"

Okay. Now it was over. Tyler took a few deep breaths. What the hell was he doing? Swearing repeatedly wouldn't do any good at all. Tyler was good at keeping calm when the pressure was on. It was one thing he excelled at no matter how bad things got. He just had to keep focused and set himself tasks. "This is the time where I wish that I was training to be an Olympic Swimmer..." he sighed. Right... he had to make a plan.
His Mother was at work, so she should be fine... he was currently in the house alone hoping the storm would just... go away, which it wouldn't. Instantly... Tyler's mind started booting into overdrive, turning yet again into that deductive machine, but this time he wasn't solving a mystery... he was route planning... figuring out all the alternatives and choices he could make just like if he was in a visual novel.
High ground. That was the most important thing right now; getting to higher ground. There was no time to grab anything other than his phone and his prized headphones which were already glued to his neck anyway. He opened his window, as difficult as it was due to all the wind... and climbed out onto the terrace. Everything was so wet and slippery, this alone was dangerous enough. Thankfully, his room was located on the upper section of the house, so he was able to reach up and grab the side of the roof and pull himself up. Tyler was physically fit, so it didn't exert him too much. He moved to the upper most part of the roof and now had to figure out what to do next... he was stuck on a roof after all, he'd bought himself some time, but not much.
"Hey! Kiddo! You alright?!" a voice called out to him. OH THANK GOD! At least... Tyler didn't know if he believed in a God... but thank whatever unless he was hallucinating. IT WAS MR. HECKLES! "Mr. Heckles! YOU AWESOME OLD MAN, YOU!" Tyler exclaimed with relief. You see... Mr. Heckles was a fisherman. Well known in the area. "Kukuku! I am pretty awesome. I told y'all that being a fisherman had it's advantages! Anyway. You're gonna catch your death out here! Jump in! Your mom ain't around is she?!" He called out over the loud storm.
    "No! It's just me!"
"Good thing I was passing by, now hop in!" Yes... it was certainly good he was passing by. If this was an RP on a forum or a fanfiction... this would be called... Plot convenience?
Either way, Tyler hopped in to the boat from his position on the roof, and Mr. Heckles got to work getting them the hell out of here. "Where should we go, Kiddo?! Wherever the wind takes us?!"
Tyler had already figured out where they needed to go though... "We need to get to the highest ground possible! Galaxy Spire is the tallest landmark I can think of! It's best if we go there!"
"Great plan, kiddo! KUKUKU!" The crazy but awesome old man chuckled. "Hang onto those weird ear-muffs of yours! HERE WE GO!" And off they went to the Galaxy Spire (Space Needle), and to their safety.

His eye suddenly began to twitch at the fact that he was called an old man, but that immediately subsided upon being apologized to. A familiar person stood before him...what what his name? well that didn't really matter at the moment as he listened to the teen speak. "ah Auditorium...got it" Altair said as he witnessed the teen leave. The really needed to make haste and get to safety fast. The school would not be a safe haven forever and they needed to be prepared. As he thought about this another thought crept across his mind "that damn old man wouldn't die that easily...I could shoot him in the chest and the ******* would still walk up to me and give me a smack" Altair said with a groan.

As he prepared to leave a thought suddenly came up "**** THOSE TWO HAVEN'T RETURNED YET" Altair yelled as he rushed, recalling Madeline and Quintus hadn't returned. There was no time to be cautious about his wound. He needed to hurry quickly before anything bad happened. Reaching towards where the two were cuddled oh so nicely, Altair stopped running. Had this not been a deadly situation they were in, he would have left them to cuddle. "I hate to interrupt your little moment but we better get moving. Lets meet at the auditorium, its the safest place at the moment" Altair said a he turned away "I'll meet you there...sorry but I try to help I will only slow you all down" Altair said as he proceeded towards the auditorium.

"**** **** **** WHAT THE FRIGGIN HELL?!! YOU ******* WHY THE HELL WON'T YOU FRIGGIN ANSWER YOUR DAMN PHONE" The old man yelled as he stood on top of the rooftop of his home. He had tried countless times to call the kid but for some goddamn reason he would not answer. Tossing the phone into the flooded town the man's eye began to twitch. "YOU DAMN YOUNG BRAT" the old man yelled.

    WATER'S RISING!!

Abby was surprised by Elizabeth's sudden need to relocate but the moment she stepped out of the gym, she felt it too. There should of been people there rushing about, instead nothing. "I don't like this, where is everyone?" Out of instinct she grabbed Elizabeth's hand, she just had an overwhelming desire to move. Her need to hide was gone, now she just wanted to find everyone. "This just feels so so wrong, let's find people, the auditorium is where they'll likely be right? I think that's high too." She set off at a fast pace towards there, not waiting for her new friends reply. Though after a short bit she started running, she didn't know what the rush was but everything felt so so wrong.

Finally the auditorium was in sight and she literally burst through the doors to see, in relief, people. She smiled a little awkwardly, "Ughhh, hi?"

She was so close. So close...Thomas was right in front of her...and then something stopped her--no, something YANKED her back. Pain shot up her spine as she landed with a groan. The door slammed shut with a wet gust of wind, and Thomas was gone. Why? ...No, WHO? WHO had stopped her?! She was so fucking close, she didn't give a shit she didn't want any of this, she just wanted it all to END. She pulled herself up onto her knees, ready to violently attack the one who had prevented her from leaving.

" DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DIE SO MUCH THAT - that . . . "

Madeline's eyes softened. Oh. Quin. Oh. She was...She was actually...crying. She actually...

The blonde-haired girl's own heart thumped wildly. She felt nothing but guilt and shame now. It nearly consumed her. Her cheeks were wet with tears, and she didn't think they would be dry any time soon. She felt extremely...tender right now. She just wanted to apologize--most likely in a hysterical fashion. When she finally found the courage to speak, though, Quin's sobs had died down into nothing.

"Quin?" Her voice was small and shaky. Quintus did not reply to her. Fear seized her for a moment, but then turned to relief as she noticed the fall and rise of the unconscious girl's chest. Her cheeks burned and she turned away with a sniffle. "Aah..."

Madeline was small, not very muscular, and still achey from whatever had happened with Yuna, but she somehow found the strength to hoist Quin up in her arms bridal style and carry her back through the first set of double doors and into the school because why the fuck not.

She had no idea where to go, but the water was rising quickly and the floors were wet. She nearly slipped a few times as she wandered the halls and eventually came to the doors of the auditorium. Maybe...the three who were in there could help her. She stared down at Quin and felt her heart beat again. Her bottom lip quivered once. What is even happening to me?

She stared at the door and kicked it a few times, hoping to get someone's attention. The door opened after a few seconds and M came face to face with Abby. She probably looked ridiculous. She and Quin were both soaking and the expression on her own face was one of immense distress. She muttered a thank you and entered.

Wow. It was an orgy in here.

Her stamina was running out so she knelt down on the steps leading down to the stage.

"Do we have any blankets or anything in here?...She's unconscious, I'm not sure what to do."

Wow, that was hard to keep up. But he got the first. Step one: climb. Good. Sneaked in enough times to know the quickest route up the side of their house. Normally that ended at his window but it easily went all the way to the roof. Good thing too, as the water had followed him up there.

Step two was either signal the police or do something. So obviously he had to pick the latter choice, because just sitting here and hoping for the best? A hero would never do that! They took action! So he reached over and pulled off some wood of the house. Did he really need more? Sure it was cold but this would be enough to keep him afloat while he made his way through the flooded streets. So he used only it.

Heh. To tear about the house though... That's loads of fun.

"Damn right I defeated tons of monsters before," he muttered to himself once in the water, shivering a ridiculous amount. "So this is going to be easy."

After floating along for a while he passed a large crate. Seeing as the better option he took a deep breath, too scared to let go of the piece of his house at first but soon began swimming over to it. Once there he climbed on top, grateful to be out of the endless cold water. "Try to get me now, fiends!" He shouted, throwing a shoe plucked from the water at some stuffed animals near by.

From there on it was easy sailing to the school. What boss awaited him there? He had no way of knowing, but one thing was for sure. Cherno said he was counting on him! It felt like the highest honor so he couldn't fail him now.

He made it and was glad to be on his feet again. Though drenched, he was happy. He made his way to the auditorium and pushed open the doors with a wide grin. And so the mighty Anthony appears, leaving his fans swooning before him!

"Sorry to keep you all waiting, but now that I am here you can rest easy!"

The school rumbled once...then once more. A few seconds after, lightning flashed above Bellhurst High and the school was rocked with a minor Earthquake that everyone inside could feel...Except it wasn't an Earthquake; it was something else entirely. Something shifted, and from inside of the auditorium you could hear a series of loud crashes. It was as if pieces of the building were literally being torn away. If you were to try to exit the auditorium, from any exit, you would be greeted by a literal brick wall. Anyone outside of the auditorium but still in the school might as well not exist. There is no way to contact those inside from the outside, or vice versa. For now, try not to waste your time finding a way out.

Try instead to figure out why you're here.

"What the hell is going on?!?" The petite girl exclaimed as the whole room shook violently. Was it an earthquake or something more? She'd only just managed to get into the auditorium, though she'd opened the door moments ago to M with an unconscious Quin in tow and Anthony had burst in too. But still, only a few minutes longer and she'd of been outside in that which from the sounds of things, wouldn't be good. This was just getting ridiculous. Still she was near the door and figured if anyone else was on their way in, she didn't want to be the one responsible for locking them out. So despite the room shaking she staggered over to the door and pulled it open.

    ...

    "What the actual fudge?!?"

    ...

There was a brick wall on the other side of the door, an actual proper literal brick wall with bricks and mortar. Like in the minute since she let M and Quin into the room through that door, somebody had came and bricked it up. That was by the way, impossible, but yet there the wall was. She touched it, it was real as can be. Turning back to the group she tried to be calm, at least she was safe from them while she was trapped in here. Letting her eyes drift between everyone in the room for the first time, it wasn't had to spot the connection. "I-I think we can safely assume the is Crestatia's doing, is everyone from the email here?" She asked taking deep breaths, Tyler wasn't, she spotted that straight away. But he wasn't in the school so maybe he was okay, or not. He never replied to her text. She just hoped with all her heart that he was okay. "Um, so she's trapped us here so something's going to happen but what? Why has she trapped us? Can she not at least wait 100 days?"

And...moment's gone. How unfair! There had been no time for the cheers that he deserved or even the praise. Not to mention he had yet to see anything close to a reward. Would it really take another puzzle before he got anything for his efforts?

Oh. Or a boss battle. Everything was shaking! That was obviously a bad sign. What's worse was when the exits were blocked, as shown by Abby once she opened the door. Seemed safe to assume that all others were in the same state. All of this had the makings of a boss battle, and yet nothing appeared. No one got possessed. Nothing else happened. So just what were they even doing here?

Pausing to peel off his soaked jacket and place that, along with his backpack, on a nearby chair he wondered if anything in it had been spared from the water... If his phone even still worked... More importantly Abby had said fudge. He'd been without food since the storm started save a few snacks, so he was rather hungry now. Maybe someone here had- Oops. That's a bit sidetracked.

"So the stage is set...but where's the boss? Come out already! Let's do this."

shaking. Shaking. Why was there shaking? Then rolling? Temperance jumped off the stretcher in a panic and it wheeled itself down the stairs. She clutched the back of a seat, heart pounding, in a daze. This wasn't the nurse's office. That wasn't a cot. People. There were more people in here. She held her head and collapsed to the carpeted floor. Carpet? Her eyes focused and she scanned the room quietly. It was the auditorium. How did they get to the auditorium?

green eyes locked onto the stretched that now lay on its side at the bottom of the large room. Did he...did he do that? Temperance couldn't resist the urge to smile. He was just to sweet. So sweet it actually made her a little sick. No. He didn't. it did. Her hand moved to her stomach and she stood up in a frenzy. "I think...I think I'm going to be sick." she couldn't do this. Not with all of them around. Why were they all in the auditorium anyway? What did cherno say before she fell asleep? Something about the water? She couldn't remember. Temperance used every last ounce of energy to move to the trash can as quick as possible.

she took a deep breath and fortunately only heaved once. That was good. She couldn't take anymore of this. Is this she would spend her last days? Completely miserable? Temperance sat down on the floor next to the trashcan, resting her head on the wall. Almost everyone was there. Why were they all there? "what's...what's going on?" she finally managed. Someone had to have an answer, right? Through the dim light, she found cherno and kept her eyes focussed on his feet. They were on the ground. Solid. As long as she remained grounded, like his feet, she would be fine. No sudden movements, nothing unexpected.

Aileen was woken up by the repeated rumbling of the school. Was it an earthquake? An earthquake during a storm sounded too coincidental. Suddenly she heard several loud crashes. Frightened, Aileen pulled her feet back up on her chair, put her head in between her knees and used her hands to cover her head. What if we all die in here now!? What in the world is going on!?

Realizing that nothing was falling from above, Aileen poked her head up and looked around. She could hear other voices from within the auditorium. Had more people entered the auditorium while she was asleep? Or did they just run into the large room in a panic?

Aileen decided that it was probably best for the three of them to join whoever else was in the auditorium. Something suspicious was going on, and again, she had a bad feeling about it. She stood up and before heading off, she said to Chase and Brian, "We should probably join who-," the room was still shaky, and nearly knocked Aileen off balance. She held onto the chair in front of her. "-ever else is in here."

Walking over, she could hear Abby's voice. "I-I think we can safely assume the is Crestatia's doing, is everyone from the email here?" Crestatia. That name. Aileen paused on the auditorium stairs for a bit, holding onto the railing. She was frightened, and it did not at all help that the group happened to be in the auditorium, again. Taking a deep breath, she continued to make her way to the group. Once she was there, she stood by Temperance, who was sitting by the trash can.

"Um, so she's trapped us here so something's going to happen but what? Why has she trapped us? Can she not at least wait 100 days?" Aileen thought for a moment. What did Crestatia say she was when she was present a couple days ago? That she was a game....game...master...?

"Maybe we broke one of her 'rules' again? Or perhaps we were not being...entertaining? This is all a game to her after all..." Aileen suggested.

Oh, my head . . . I sat up to look around; the place was dark, and I was the only source of light . . . I didn't remember anything - where was I? . . . Madeline! Had I saved her, or did she go out into that storm, leaving me alone? Why would she do that? She didn't really want to die, did she?

Suddenly, my forehead broke out into a cold sweat; I felt a soft buzz in my body, almost like I could feel someone watching me. Apprehensively, I made moves to get up, but then bumped my head before I could even stand up straight. I fell back to the floor and rubbed my head; my hair was down, and it was a little tangled, not in its natural, slightly curly state.
. . . Oh. Oh, no . . . I was in a small space - or at least I thought I was. I leaned forward, my arm outstretched, expecting - hoping - to meet open space, but my hand fell roughly against a flat surface, and it wasn't so far from my face. Swiftly, I tried for the other side; it was the same outcome. Oh . . . god . . . I was . . .
In front of me, a vent opened and I could see a face peering in; it was one I dreaded to see, " Ah, darling Kallisti, " came a woman's voice, " You've awakened. How are you, darling? " I bit my lip at the question and shirked away from her face and voice just as much as I could, which wasn't enough, since this space could only have been three square feet . . . " Sweetheart, look at you, cover yourself up. " the woman said, and I looked down at my body - I was naked. I reached for something I couldn't see, only to feel the fabric of a blanket, and I quickly wrapped myself up in it, my face burning up.
This is horrible, what am I doing in this terrible place again? I thought I was away from here, forever. My naked body begins to shake, my pale skin being luminescent and lighting up the space. She could see me, even though I was covered by this blanket, her eyes could see through it. I was completely vulnerable to this woman - this horrible, vile woman . . . I could feel tears stinging at my eyes, but I've done enough crying. No more crying, Kallisti. Breath. Everything will be alright.
" You keep telling yourself that, Kallisti . . . " came a voice from behind me, and suddenly I felt arms wrapped around my naked frame, " But you know that it is a lie. "
    N - no . . . sounded my muddled thoughts in an echo, F - father . . . Madeline . . . Har - Harley . . . anyone . . .

xxxxxxxxxx Inhaling a sharp breath, Kallisti opened her blue eyes, darkness meeting them. She almost began to panic, thinking that her dream wasn't a dream at all, but when she heard the soft whispering of voices around her. Had she saved Madeline? She couldn't remember . . . Her vision was blurry and her head was light. There was a slight buzzing feeling circulating around her whole face.

For a little while, she had been in and out of consciousness; sometimes it felt like she was falling, other times it felt like she was just floating. The warmth, though . . . It had never left her.

She opened her eyes once more, " Madeline . . . " she mumbled softly, her voice raspy and unleveled, " Are you okay . . . ? " She didn't even know if Madeline was near her, but if someone else was, she was feeling delirious anyway, so their thoughts on her didn't matter much.

Kallisti tried to sit up, but it felt like the wind had been knocked out of her and she was still trying to recover from it and breath properly. Her head spun, her chest ached, she was cold . . . Still, this wasn't the most miserable she had ever woken up to feeling. Comparatively, this was actually really nice. She was alive, and the room was actually warm, she was just covered in a small sweat. This was probably a bad time to be wearing a long sleeved, skintight shirt and leggings under shorts and a vest-denim shirt.

A series of startling crashes sounded and Kallisti shot up, feeling pain race shooting through her body, and she immediately doubled over, moaning almost loudly, her noise - thankfully - under that of the crashes. She heard a girl exclaim and recognized the voice. When she got a grip on reality, she found that many people were around her, they were all huddled together in one part of the auditorium, away from everyone else. How did she even get here?

How did they even get here? And Ty - Tyler! Her eyes darted around, searching for her brunette-haired boy. He was nowhere in sight, and she bit her lip, she hoped he was safe . . .

They were all here in one place, save a few . . . But why. So it would be easier for Crestatia to off them all? No . . . She heard Aileen speak, and this set her mind ablaze - not entertaining enough? Madeline had almost killed herself - Kallisti nearly died, too . . . She shook her head in disgust. It seemed they were trapped in this room, no use trying to get out . . .

" If Crestatia is the game master, and we are her players, then we must think of this as some type of game. " she suddenly announced, blaming her outspoken-ness on being delirious, " We are all here together, so it seems this is going to be a team-effort sort of thing. Here, in this auditorium . . . What can we do, as a team? "

Watching over Aileen worriedly as she slept peacefully, Brian's eyes began to feel heavy. He had to fight this tempting urge; he had to make sure nothing would happen to Aileen. He rubbed his eyes to revitalize them, but it was to no avail. Soon, the weight was too strong and Brian softly closed his eyes and dozed off to sleep.

The school shaking awoke Brian almost immediately. He sat up with a jolt as he looked around curiously. He saw Aileen was already awake and covering her head his her hands. He looked to the ceiling to see no falling debris. Phew, thank goodness. Soon enough, the violent vibrations ended and he noticed Aileen stand up and walk away. Voices...? Brian followed suit closely behind the girl.

He listened carefully to Abby's, Aileen's, and Quin's thoughts on the whole situation. He nodded in agreement to both their claims about Crestatia. When Quin had finished, he picked up on Aileen's thoughts and added, "I don't think we all broke a single, common rule, so I agree with what you said afterwards... about the game and entertainment. She wants see to how we panic with virtually no way to escape, to see the insanity unfold..." He sounded depressing, a vibe he was not going for. He gulped softly, and inched closer to Aileen.

John left the group after critically observing them all. Silently he returned and began doling out the spare blankets to those who needed them the most. Abigail's words were listened too but he agreed with Aileen. His gaze dug into her's. "Cross out entertainment, some of us look like we're half dead. We should be asking how did we ALL get to this one spot one the one day the city floods. By rainfall. Not a wave. But rain. Damn near impossible. " He brushed a few blonde strands of hair behind his ear before speaking again. "We need to figure out what it is we're not seeing. One of us has to know something."

Temperance wanted to stay awake. She really did. This was important. "No more rain. No more water." She mumbled. She couldn't handle more water. No more. Would she ever be able to tolerate swimming again? Temperance had spent nearly twenty-four hours trapped in a flood afraid she might die. "No more water."

She breathed heavily and pulled her legs closer to her body. Her gym uniform didn't exactly provide warmth. Spandex shorts and an athletic tank top were great for cheer practice, not surviving the school in December with no heat. Her tangled wet black hair sat in a knotted mess over her mostly bare shoulder. The cool wall was pressed firmly against her cheek.

There was someone beside her, but the voice didn't sound familiar. She wouldn't risk opening her eyes. Sleep was more important than these people. If they were trapped there like everyone was saying, then she could use the time to rest. She just had to ignore them. What did it matter? They were alive right? They didn't nearly drown and freeze to death. They sat in the comforts of the school, safely away from the danger.

Madeline stayed quiet for a moment. Now that the adrenaline had worn off, all that remained was misery and hunger.

"Um, so she's trapped us here so something's going to happen but what? Why has she trapped us? Can she not at least wait 100 days?"

Why does it matter? We're here.

"So the stage is set...but where's the boss? Come out already! Let's do this."

    ...He's crazy.

"Maybe we broke one of her 'rules' again? Or perhaps we were not being...entertaining? This is all a game"Maybe we broke one of her 'rules' again? Or perhaps we were not being...entertaining? This is all a gameto her after all..."

I didn't break any rules. What the hell did you guys do? I... think a flood is pretty damn entertaining.

    " Are you okay . . . ? "

She was happy to see Quin was awake and looking alright for the most part, but as soon as she heard her voice, guilt pulsed through her again. Thomas...That wasn't Thomas, was it? Was it Crestatia? Would she really have died? She didn't know...It was just rain, after all. She wondered what would have happened if she left the school.

Madeline nodded in response and looked away down at her hands.

"I don't think we all broke a single, common rule, so I agree with what you said afterwards... about the game and entertainment. She wants see to how we panic with virtually no way to escape, to see the insanity unfold..."

Wow, how helpful. That will totally help us get out of this situation, good job to you, bravo.

They were trying to find a reason. It all sounded like babble to her. It didn't seem to be getting anywhere. These people were all idiots. They had the logic of ten-year-olds. They were a waste of time. If only she could have played this game on her own, without them. If only. She would be making better progress. She would have probably already found a way to summon Crestatia. But no. They were all punished together, it seemed. When one person messed up, they all suffered the consequences.

How unfortunate that she was stuck with a bunch of passive idiots and delusional freaks...Well, minus Quin. All they did was ask questions and pose theories. They never concluded anything.

"We need to figure out what it is we're not seeing. One of us has to know something."

Know something...Now there was an idea. Maybe someone knew something that no one else did. Maybe someone was hiding something.

Her thoughts drifted back to Thomas and she buried her face into her knees. If Crestatia could do that...Assuming it wasn't M's imagination, then she wondered...Could it be possible that Crestatia was actually in the room with them already? That she was one of them?

In the safety of the auditorium Altair took a seat on one of the many seats of the auditorium and calmly crossed his arms. He merely sat there and watched as the remaining teens began to enter and strange events take place. A stone wall that barricaded the exits and prevented escape...Crestatia wanted them to remain in the room, but for what reason? There had to be a reason why they were simply locked in and there was something that Crestatia was waiting for. Closing his eyes, Altair merely smiled a nonchalant smile "Ah, dear Crestatia...what is it that you seek this time? you've gathered us all here, but for what reason?...does the master wish to meet her pitiful pawn?" Altair said quietly as he opened and narrowed his eyes with a smirk "or are you already here?" Altair said. Ever since the first day he had spoke many times like that, speaking to the empty air. Though his intent was really to really let the deity hear his words, he could never tell if his words reached the witch.

    int logic ( ) {

    Think, Cherno.

He looked around at the congregation that had appeared in the auditorium. It was absolutely clear that Crestatia had gathered them here -- and there was absolutely no doubt about her continued existence. But--

But why? What was the reason?

He sat at the far end of the room, away from the majority of the others so he had enough space to mull around in his thoughts. At the same time, he would be able to hear them well enough. He rested his chin on his fingers and his eyes aimlessly darted around the floor in a deep sense of almost existential concentration. He hoped nobody would bother him just now. But even as he heard the theories of the others, it looks like they were simply shooting guns off into the air and only hoping for targets or escape velocity. Oh well. It was a reason why multiple heads were definitely better than a few. There was definitely a chance that they could collectively think of something, at least.

He let the comments of others drift to and fro around his head as he turned them out and around.

It doesn't look like they were getting out of here anytime soon. Brick walls. Why? Crestatia's doing, definitely. But she always seems to have a motive behind her reason. Thus, the question to ask right now is why we are here, not how we can escape. If we can find out the why, the escape will come naturally. Questions that deconstructed the reasoning over the process were much more potent, especially in these cases.

So why were they here? Cherno played around with the wet Rubik's cube hidden in the pocket of his tattered robe.

He heard Aileen shoot off something about entertainment, and it seemed a few others agreed.

Okay. Were they not entertaining enough? It was possible. The problem here, Cherno thought, was that we could never understand to which degree their little demoness master would find everything entertaining. If she wanted death in entertainment, she would have killed them off long ago. There would be no point to all of this playfully dangerous adventure. It seemed more to him that she was being entertained enough by their crazy antics. She instigated everything, after all. Entertaniment may not exactly be the key, could it be? She seemed entertained. And if they weren't entertaining enough, it was she who could make things entertaining -- she was a fairly direct game master, after all.

Game master. What does that mean?
Games imply entertainment regardless. From their very existence. Cherno concluded that entertainment was less likely an option, in his opinion.

There were a few murmurs from the group about rule breaking.

Rule breaking! Did someone really break any rules? He reconsidered the letter from what he remembered. Ah. Hm. No, nothing had been broken yet. What were the standards of romance, anyhow? If he could use Thomas' ... death, as a standard, then it would appear to be public displays of romantic affection. Did anyone here break any rules intentionally yet? Eh, it couldn't be. They were rational enough not to do so.

So it would have to be unintentionally.

Cherno's eyes lit up as he remembered the extremely small fine print of the e-mail. He was never able to identify that. Yet, he-- he seemed so close as well. Perhaps that was the key. He began to sit up. Did they really break any rules? Could it be that the illegible script in the e-mail was in fact related to the rules?

If that was the case, then it was a possibility for why they were trapped here. Cherno named this the Rule Possibility. However, it seemed to tug the question -- if they did break any hypothetical rules in the fine print, would they have not died by now? Perhaps it was only because they were not aware?

    Hm.

There was one other idea tugging at Cherno. It was directly related to how their meetups continually failed. To how they were all trapped here yet managed to get here. To how they were in the same boat. To how they were pawns of entertainment. All of these ...

All of these had some element of requiring team work to them, no?

    }

Cherno stood up and walked closer to the congregation of the other players in this game. He moved back to where he was originally -- next to Johnathan, and briefly closed his eyes and tugged at his own robe, drawing it a bit closer.

"Excuse me," He began, a bit loudly. His voice echoed through the auditorium. Advantages of acoustics!

He needed to confirm something first.

"We need to start off somewhere to shoot off conclusions, you dig? Let's start in a place that, I've got some believing, we can connect to why we could be here. If--" He began pacing around, filing through ideas again. "If we can be rational about anything, it would not only be the end result that would get us closer to why we are here," Cherno smirked back towards a few of the others. "But, the process would help us get closer to the reason why." He lowered his eyes and continued to smirk playfully at the others, and tapped his nose in coy amusement. "And if we are successful, we can either naturally come to the conclusion, or it would be a simple explanation."

He stopped pacing and leaned by a chair, supported by his hands. He yawned slightly. Time to ignite the bright flame of truth-searching.

"The first point that I have been wondering about. Has anyone made any progress with that bitty little fine print text in the e-mail? It is currently the one point of mystery -- that we have concretely in our mortal realm -- that unites us together.
And we, we should probably get started on this starting points for drawing conclusions quickly. We're under Crestatia's mercy, not vice versa.

If we want to actually get any clue of that totally basic anti-fly viper here, we've got to work for it."

Now that he noticed Elizabeth was also here he realized she had been giving him a death glare. Was this really because he hanged up on her? Eh... Or maybe it was-

"Ah!" That voice! That voice which he knew! "EVIL TEMPTRESS! Is she the boss?" Without realizing it he had ducked behind the nearest chair, protecting himself from her powers. Not hiding. Protecting himself.

Everyone else just became noise in the background with their rule breaking theories and whatever else while he intensely watched Temperance. One should never take their eye off of someone as evil and controlling like that after all.

Only when Cherno began speaking did his attention divert from Miss Evil. Oh! Now it seemed like it was his time to shine.

He moved carefully from his spot behind the chair and towards the master of logic, moving in a way that avoided having his back to the temptress. Once to Cherno he practically hid behind him, finding that safest.

"I saved the email...so when the power went out I thought 'hey why not try to find out what this says?' With my super vision," the zooming feature, "I saw that it was just a bunch of numbers. No. A code! And since my intelligence levels are so high I was able to solve it! There's a lot of tiny rules there... I don't know how we are ever going to make it through without breaking all of them at least once." He glanced around the room to see everyone else. Their faces should be in awe now!

Now seemed to be the time to say what the code revealed, but his attention was still lingering on Temperance and he liked the dramatic build up to be honest.

    ...

    ...

Okay that should be long enough.

"The first one is 'no talking back.' To her, yes? I think no one broke that when she first appeared. But to be honest that day is still really blurry. And... 'No Rebelling.' She hates that young blooded stuff it seems. Good thing we're out of that phase by now. I hope. I am anyway. I always listen to what my parents say. Expect for that curfew thing of theirs. No hero has a curfew okay." Ah...wait he was getting off track... "No religion." He gave John a look before moving on.

"No acceptance. No repentance. No analynne. I don't know what that is though. Sounds like a food to be honest. Man I'm still hungry... Can my reward be food? Or just money. Money's always really nice. Though I don't know if I can actually buy food right now...even after we get unstuck everywhere's under water... My poor room..." Oops. He did it again. He had to focus! At least this once he would stay on track. The best he could anyway.

"No forgiveness. No mercy. No kindness. Wow what a mean thing... No love. Isn't that the same as romance though... And no hope, no chance. There's more after that but my house started flooded then. All I got was 'save yourself or die two.' Though something else could fit there I guess. Not sure what."
