A sudden force and Altair was sent falling back into the nearest chair. Letting go of his cane in the process, Altair collapsed on the chair and cringed in pain "damn that hurts" Altair said quietly as he placing his hand on his chest. "I guess I deserved that" Altair said with a smile as he carefully reached down to grab his cane. The force itself wasn't that strong but even the slightest movement brought some sort of pain, either minor or major. He couldn't really complain though since it was his fault that she pushed him like that. With the cane in hand, Altair turned his attention over to John.

"Huh? me? I guess I'll meet you all there" Altair said raising an eyebrow. It was strange, another meeting once again, but why and more importantly why wasn't Madeline invited? At first he was going to question this but he figured he would just wait and ask Cherno himself. With a sigh Altair leaned back against the chair he was oh so painfully shoved into. He figured he would just stay here for a bit. Getting up was quite the pain for him.

Temperance pulled into the pharmacy parking lot. It was fairly small and there weren't many cars there. Probably because it was a Wednesday and everyone was either at school or work. The building had a rustic early nineteen hundreds feel to it and the sign even said they had a classic malt shop inside. Ice cream sounded heavenly right about now. She opened up the door and as if on cue, began to throw up in the parking lot. The piles were getting smaller- since there was nothing left inside of her-, but it never seemed to stop. Temperance pulled a napkin out of the glove box, wiped her off, and then headed for the store.

There was a cute little bell above the door that chimed as she entered the pharmacy. She sat down at a diner-like counter and ordered a malt first. Anything to soothe the fire in her throat. Temperance sipped away at it for a few minutes and then asked what would be best for nausea. The pharmacist pointed her in the direction of one of the isles and began to walk over there, malt in hand. It helped, at least a little. It soothed the burning of her throat, eliminated the horrible taste in her mouth, and momentarily calmed her stomach. It felt nice having something in her stomach again. The wonders of ice cream.

She studied the boxes of pills to figure out what would be the cheapest but most effective. It was hard. She kind of wished cherno was with. He would be able to pick it out immediately. She just didn't understand this stuff. They had been talking more and it felt strange. He was so serious and determined to figure out what was going on. Why they could meet as a whole group. He doesn't get it. Which is strange. It's them against her. They all seem to have at least a slight connection. The only thing she has ever had to do with them was bully them.

Nobody wants to hang out with their bully. She didn't even understand why he was being so nice to her. Didn't they ruin some big poetry reading he was about to do a couple years ago? no one wants to hang out with their bully. Even she understood that logic. So what was his deal?

Temperance picked up a box, mostly at random, and began to walk to the checkout counter. what was that? a row of pink, blue, and white boxes caught her eye. She turned to the left and almost dropped the malt. How long had it been? It couldn't be the cause. She was on birth control. Josh always used protection. Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Josh did, but he never did. It couldn't be possible. Not right now. Especially not by him. That idea was just too fucked up. The hand holding the nausea pills shakily picked up one of the blue boxes as well.

Her heart was racing as she walked ever so slowly to the counter. How long had it been? Could she really be late? Who would it belong to? If she was pregnant, she prayed to whatever god was out there that it was josh's. There was no way she could continue on knowing he put a monster inside of her. That's what it would be if it was his. It would cause her to test crestatia's no suicide rule. That's for sure.

Temperance set the boxes on the counter and stared down at the malt. She couldn't face the woman in front of her. "U-um...j-just these." Her voice was hoarse and quiet. She could barely find it in the first place.

"Do you have any questions miss?"

Temperance shook her head and handed the pharmacist some cash. The lady bagged up the boxes and gave them to her with a smile on her face.

    "Good luck."

Her face flushed and she turned, running quickly out of the store. What was that supposed to mean? Good luck on what exactly? She didn't even want the ice cream anymore. She sat out in her car, staring blankly at the box. Could this really be happening?

Abby was not having a good day and for once the 100 days couldn't be up fast enough. She just wanted to disappear, the ground to swallow her up whole as they mocked her. She'd not found anyone all day and had been completely unsuspecting when they'd found her. They'd managed to trap her and blocked all her escape routes. There was nothing she could do to escape their constant ridicule and mockery, how they made fun of her and told her she was worthless. She'd be dead soon enough and they could celebrate. She wondered if they'd treat her the same if they knew, not that she could tell them. But no, for now she just had to somehow survive this for the next however many days until it was all over.

Figuring it best not to trust technology, M traveled the short distance to the library's front desk and grabbed a sheet of paper from the printer. When she returned, Altair was still there for some reason. She narrowed her eyes, not feeling a pinch of guilt for her earlier aggression, and sat back down in her seat. The upperclassmen from before had left his pencil so she shamelessly stole that and scribbled the numbers down.

Good thing, too; because as she was writing, the lights flickered twice and then completely shut off. One by one the computer screens blackened and darkness crept up through the aisle of the library. She had figured some freaky crap may happen the closer they got to figuring this out, but not something as invasive as a blackout. She wondered if the entire school was affected and then flinched upon hearing a loud thunder clap from somewhere in the skies above them.

    Nope. Nope, nope, nope.

She began to scribble the numbers down faster and then the tip of the pencil broke.

    "Nope, nope, nope, shit, nope."

She searched desperately for a pen, trying to memorize parts of the code. The darkness hadn't reached them yet. Her heart was drumming in her ears.

    "Whyyyyy...?"

Ugh, school. Yuna didn't pay attention in class at all. During her free period, she sat in the library, doing nothing at all. She had a weird feeling that something was missing. She didn't used to be this bored during her free period. Of course, a lot had happened in the past few days. She pulled up Microsoft Paint on her laptop and started editing Pokemon sprites. She stayed there, and lost track of time. By the time she had finished the Unova Region Elite Four and champions, she was bored again. She sighed, when the lights shut off. Her laptop, with a ruined battery, unable to charge past 1%, shut off in an instant, just as the picture was about to save. All her work, lost. "Ugh..." she said, shutting her laptop. On the other side, she noticed Madeline furiously scribbling. The chick looked like a crazy person. Through the darkness, Yuna could make out her pencil point breaking. For some reason, Yuna grabbed her pen, rushed over to Madeline, and handed it to her. She relied on the darkness to hide her face. "keep it." Yuna said, putting the pen in Madeline's hand and quickly going to sit down again. She wondered what Madeline was up to.

All Altair really wished to do at the present was merely to rest for a while, the library was a quite place in opposed to the loud and crowded cafeteria. Since he was forced into a seat he really had no choice but to get up only when he really needed to. Things were relaxing, but then he saw it, the sudden narrowed eyed cold stare over at him. Raising an eyebrow Altair merely closed his eyes and sent back an innocent looking smile at the girl. Just one thought echoed through his mind as he smiled brightly.

    'She hates me...'

With that thought things felt awkward all of a sudden. With a sigh Altair merely stood up once more, cringing slightly from his wounds as he rose to his feet. Once on his feet he took one glance back at Madeline, who had seemed to be busy with something. He noticed Yuna walk up to Madeline, but she looks sort of busy as well. Feeling it was best not to stick around, Altair smiled an innocent smile once again and raised a hand in farewell. He knew they most likely wouldn't have paid attention but he didn't mind. With that, Altair slowly walked out of the library.

Once he got out Altair decided to go where he was usually seen, outside. Slowly taking his time he took a seat underneath the tree. Closing his eyes Altair smiled as he heard some music being played. For now he would wait until lunch was over

Reaching into his pocket, Brian pulled out his phone and decided to check Tumblr, leaning on the locker behind him. Might as well, it's not like he had anything to do as he waited for Aileen. He just got the app opened and loaded when he noticed a figure in his peripheral vision approaching him. It was Aileen, and she was smiling. It was a fake smile, obviously, but it gave the boy a refreshed feeling.

Aileen greeted him sweetly, and mentioned that Anthony might be joining them for lunch. Anthony... the gamer kid, Elizabeth's brother right? Yeah... yeah, that's him.; the one with the dual colored eyes. He nodded with acceptance and said, "Sure, of course." He was eager to meet new people; it always helped him forget his... issues.

Issues... what a harsh way to put it.

Desperate for some fresh air, Brian continued ahead of Aileen and gestured for her to follow. He attempted at a smile, but it was so difficult today. Not wanting to alarm his best friend, the boy persevered and put on a guise that even Morgan Freeman wouldn't be able to see through.

It was so crisp outside, the cold air filling his lungs. Though he disliked the cold, today wasn't so bad in terms of weather. He sat at one of the tables and opened his lunch, which he prepared two days ago. It was still fresh, which made Brian feel good. All that hard work would've gone to waste if it had spoiled. Not quickly enough, the hungry boy began to devour the food.

The thunder gave Brian a jolt as a heavy rain poured over him. Quickly grabbing the remainder of his lunch, he sprinted inside. He sighed. Of course, it just had to rain on him and Aileen's cute lunchtime get-together. The boy looked around, curious as to where his best friend could have scurried off to.

Brian attempted to smile before leading the way to the courtyard. His smile was not genuine, she knew that much, but felt reassuring. At least with his attempt at smiling she knew that his usual personality had not disappeared. Aileen sighed and followed along.

Once reaching their table, Aileen pulled her lunch out. She looked at it and frowned. How filling could it actually be? But competition is soon...this is all for the competition... She picked up her sandwich and began eating it. It did not take long for her to finish her lunch. It would not take anyone long to finish her lunch- it was that small. She watched as Brian was eating his.

Suddenly, thunder began booming and rain started pouring down. The thunder had startled Aileen and caused her to jump out of her seat. When the rain started falling, Brian picked up the remainder of his lunch and ran inside. Aileen quickly grabbed her bag and followed him in.

Inside where it was nice and dry, Aileen stopped to catch her breath. She shivered. She was cold and her hair was soaking wet. Her clothes got wet in the rain as well, but not as much as her hair. She sat down on the ledge by the windows. Aileen gathered all of her hair to one side of her head, twisted it and wrung out the excess water. She then looked over at Brian. "The weather is so unpredictable these days," she sighed and said.

The rain-pour from outside was incredibly loud. It gave her a headache as it drummed violently against the windows and rooftop. Madeline felt like the walls were caving in. Everything was so chaotic lately, even the simple things. Before she could register it, she found a pen in her hand.

"What the hell?" With a low mutter, she rolled her eyes and hunched over the large desk again, focusing all of her attention on these numbers. She was almost done writing them all when she heard another loud thunder clap followed by a blindingly bright flash from outside that illuminated the entire library for just a second.

The computer monitor switched off rather suddenly and darkness took over.

Okay, no big deal, no big deal. She got most of the code. She got most of it. That's all that mattered, right? Right. Right. They could just look it up again, probably, maybe. She doubted it, actually. Her eyes were burning. This darkness...Why was it so dark? There was no light coming from the windows either. Weird. Worrisome. Awful.

It was calm and relaxing, Altair was really enjoying his rest against the tree, but then it happened. The sudden roar of thunder echoed throughout the area. Immediately Altair's eyes jolted opened and one eye began to twitch in annoyance "you've got to frigging kidding me" Altair grumbled. His luck was terrible today. He would have understood if it was a light drizzle, but a frigging down pour? Altair was not amused. With the help of his cane, Altair quickly rose to his feet and entered the school once again. By the time he entered he was quite wet from the rain. "hmm powers off" Altair said to himself as he walked in

The song ended and as if on cue, there was a crack of thunder, making her look up at the sky with her heart racing just a little. She didn't think it was going to rain today, so she cursed the fact that she had no umbrella with her. Lucky she had one in her car, but that wasn't going to help her getting across the parking lot without getting wet. She didn't mind for herself, but her violin was very sensitive to weather changes and rain, for it made the instrument go out of tune.

She quickly cased up and headed back inside the school, her jacket hugging her with warmth. She didn't know where to go, now. To the library? She could go ahead and get to her next class . . . " Oh, I can just go to the orchestra hall, " she thought to herself with an internal hit to her forehead, and that's where she began to walk, not even realizing that all of the school lights were out.

" Oh, how strange . . . " she thought to herself when finding that it was dark, " I might bump into people at this rate . . . "

Yuna couldn't see at all. "Well, this is just ****ing great..." she said. Knowing she might trip and hurt herself, she stood there. "MAdeline, it's me, Yuna, can you hear me?" she figured that getting the attention of Madeline so they could stick together would be better. Yuna then had an idea. She pulled out her phone to use as a flashlight, but... it was off. "Huh? Come on!" she tapped it multiple times, but decided to give up. Somehow, it had died. "Well isn't this just a breath of fresh air!?" Yuna sighed. "Crestatia..." she muttered quietly, "Just what are you up to now?"

Temperance sat there in the parking lot staring at the box. There was another response from cherno. She almost wanted to tell him, but it was a horrible idea. Telling anyone at all would be a bad idea. She didn't even know for sure. She would have to take it to find out. A crack of lightning broke her out of the trance the box put her in. Then the rain began. It was so random. There was no storm forecasted for today.

This would make tomorrow's driving a nightmare. The rain water would probably freeze the roads overnight and make everything icy. She needed to go somewhere. Take the test. Temperance put the car into drive and began to drive aimlessly. There was no particular goal, just somewhere with a bathroom.

She stopped at the gas station across the street from lacey's. It was like the diner had called to her. The rain was still pouring, but she stepped out of the car anyway. She stared at the ashen rubble remains of the diner. She loved that diner. All those people died because the rest of them were in the diner.

Her body was drenched by the time she finally walked into the gas station. The clerk gave her an odd look. Probably wondering why she just stood in the rain for so long. Temperance made her way back to the bathroom. This would be the longest two minutes of her life. Utter torture.

She sat there staring at the stick, willing it to be negative. Her heart was pounding. Her mind racing. What would she do? Would she even live long enough to have a baby? Whose was it? Josh's...or...or his? The thought was so disgusting it made her want to vomit again, but for different reasons. She bit down hard on her lip as the stick began to change.

    Power's out. Just great.

Cherno stood outside his house, clad in one of his larger coats, as the pitter-patter of the rain drenched his hair. Great droplets shook away from his strands of hair and collapsed to the puddle-riddled ground, ending in lifeless splashes that held no acknowledgement. How poetic. He stared up at the sky, dimly. His eyes were bloodshot, and he hid his hands in his pockets. Cloudy sky. Grey, grey, grey. The streets were eerily silent, and it was only he who stood among the torrent that mocked his lonely existence on the street side.

With the power out in his house, he couldn't finish his conversation with Temperance right now. So here he stood, outside of that ramshackle, dilapidated ruin of a house, taking a shower in the misty sprays of Coy City. What a bother. He did get a bit apprehensive and wide-eyed when she informed him of some distressing information. She was getting worse, was she? He tried to analyze it, but he still felt too dead. He needed some more information. He couldn't work reliably on just blank estimations.
A car drove by quickly, splashing water onto the sidewalk. Cherno swiftly moved back as the waves of the dirty liquid cascaded upon the virgin pavement. His shoes became a bit muddy. No bother. The car drove away, headlights piercing through the fog, engine roaring. People had places to go. Everything was in motion. Even in the cold, bitter rain of this storm, it was the lifeless things that showed life, and the ones filled with life, like Cherno, simply stood stagnant, watching and observing as if carried by the flow of time.

He wondered if he would be able to get a few of the others to arrive today. He wasn't even sure if Jonathan told them all. But he couldn't really contact them right now.

Fuck. It still hurt. Maybe he should walk to the pharmacy.

His arm moved very slowly as he began to retrieve his phone from his left pocket. Ugh, the pain. It was better than it was before. But it could grow worse any second. He brought his phone close to his deadened eyes, held carefully by his delicately bandaged hand, stained with dried blood. It was a really strange wound -- the sort that continued to sting after the hundreds of applications Cherno tried. Could it be a product of Crestatia's magic? He could barely remember anything after the loud honk of the truck that would eventually smash into Lacey's ... and ...

    and ...

    ...

    Fuck Lacey's.

Did he tear up just then? Did-- did he really? No. No, he couldn't have. It must have been the raindrops reaching his soft eyes. He squeezed his phone with his bandaged hand. Ack! Pain shot through his entire arm. The painkillers must have died off by now. He checked his phone. No connection, but he thankfully had a map downloaded.

Bitter Point Hospital's pharmacy was not too far. He needed the exercise anyway. He looked dimly back at the lively, lifeless sky, and he stood there, unmoving, as if channelling its attempts to stare back into him. And through all of this, there were no cars -- no people -- nothing, nothing but the rasping calls of the rain and the loud gunshots of thunder that seemed to reflect on how unforgiving this world could be.

And with a sigh, he placed his phone back in his pocket, hiding his hands so that none could see his injury. The rain made the makeshift paper bandage wet. He would probably need something better. And thus, as his footfalls turned into splashes by the many puddles on the sidewalk, he started off for the pharmacy, a shadowy figure in the monochrome backdrop of relentless fatigue and sorrow that nature poured out today. A product of the middleground, and only a small part of the whole artistic composition.

The rain won't be letting up anytime soon.
Bellhurst High is now on LOCKDOWN.
No one gets in or out (without a parent present).
This is an attempt to protect the students from
    the intense--and extremely sudden--flooding of
Coy City, as well as from a few thieves/thugs making the
    most of the panic.
Classes have been cancelled while staff work on
    gathering emergency supplies.
You can find warm cider in the cafeteria and blankets
    in the auditorium.
Outside of Bellhurst, emergency services encourage
everyone to stay / go home. They are currently
clearing the streets and moving people who need
    it to high ground.
Bellhurst High is on high ground. If you are not at school, you are not there. If you have
yet to engage yourself, you are not at school.
    Good Luck.

...Yuna? How rude. She didn't understand how the girl could just call out for her like that in the middle of the library. Was she scared? It was just a storm.

    Haha. Hah.

Madeline grasped the thin sheet of paper between her fingers tighter. So long as she held onto this, there was nothing to worry about. Keeping hold of these numbers...they were priority. She considered ignoring Yuna as she nervously used the chairs of the library to guide herself forward, but M was afraid she would just make a larger spectacle out of them both. She wondered why she cared about that anymore. Her reputation was beyond ruined at this point. It must have been after all of those meltdowns.

Thunder roared, and Madeline awaited the inevitable lightning (planning to use the flash as a means to help her find the door), but it never came.

This was frustrating. Nothing was reliable anymore. Nothing was normal. Nothing was right. Was it because she had found the code? Then what was Yuna doing here? She hadn't done shit, it was all Madeline.

A jolt of fear suddenly wracked her small body. M cleared her throat, sugarcoating her words as if she had never planned on completely abandoning Yuna in the first place.

    "Y-Yuna? That's you, right?"

Her voice was just a hint of hysterical. All of this excitement was really starting to get to her. She reached out blindly in an attempt to find the girl. This darkness was unreal. It was cold and malicious. They had to still be in the library, though. She could feel her hip bump up against one of the bookcases.

...Assuming that's what the hard, velvety caress was from.

John was out in the hallway, trying to decipher where Quin would be when very abruptly the lights went out. He glanced about but sighed in relief when he realized his classmates were not vanishing and just leaving him behind. With that thought tossed from his mind he decided the orchestra room would be the best place to find Quin. But it was not. He then walked his way over to the cafeteria, becoming more upset with Cherno by the minute as thunder boomed and and rain began to torrent down from the sky.

He sighed. This task was taking far too long, his eyes quickly scanned over the various profiles of those inside. Too much time was being used, his patience was wearing thin. He stood in the center where others seemed to be calling for their friends, he opened his mouth and joined the shouting, "All Abby's, Tyler's and Quintus, report to the middle of this heathenistic cesspool, now!

Good thinking John. After all how many Abbys and Tylers would you sort through here to find out they aren't here or something? Shut up Brain. Just shut up.

Rain was always pleasant, but now it seemed to be getting out of hand. At this rate who knew what the damages would be, since even the power was out already. At least their home ought to be okay. If not, well their parents had some uses at least, one being insurance.

It was too eerie to really care about any of that now though. The dark...it was too thick, nearing unnatural. Or was that just her imagination? How odd.

Escaping the strong downpour and winds Elizabeth found herself in the seemingly empty gym. Something like this felt safe due to the lack of windows, but that also meant being unable to see in it. Thanks to that she stumbled and hurt herself while slowly making her way to the bleachers, where she sat and had hoped to wait out the storm here.

What a scary thing it was turning out to be... She wondered, will someone die today?

the lights flickered out in the bathroom. It was dark and quiet. The downpour grew louder from within the four walls. Two minutes really was a long time. Now it would last even longer it seems. How could the power go out right as she was about to know? Temperance leaned against the wall staring at the small white stick in her hand. This was maddening. oh! My phone. she pulled it out of her pocket, only to see that it would turn on. seriously? it just had a full fucking battery.. She was half-tempted to smash it against a wall, but knew it would be a poor choice.

temperance decided to shove it back into the box it came in and stick it in her purse. She would find out once she got out to the car. Her hand found the cool metal handle in the dark and she twisted it to get the door open. There was a wet squishing at her feet and she looked down to see water. water? the rain. Temperance could see clearly just how hard the rain was coming down now. How was she supposed to get anywhere? The cashier stood at the counter nervously watching the sheets of rain pour down. It was seeping in from under the doors. They were getting flooded. how is this even happening? She wanted to scream.

crestatia was ruining everything. I hope she's truly enjoying herself, because this is ridiculous! the clerk cleared her throat nervously. What did she expect temperance to do? Her socks were beginning to get soaked from the water slowly seeping in. How long would they have until the building was completely underwater? The thought was terrifying. Would she drown to death? Maybe that wouldn't be so bad. But, she wasn't breaking any rules. Crestatia said they would be fine if they followed the rules. Unless she changed her mind. Had things up until now been too boring for her? They had been pretty exciting for everyone else, and not in a good way.

temperance backed up against a wall, knocking some snacks over. If she just gave in then she wouldn't have to deal with this stupid game anymore. She wouldn't have to live in fear of crestatia and no one else would have to live in fear of her. he wouldn't be able to hurt her anymore, and there would be no chance of a monster ever being born. If she was pregnant, it was most definitely his. Not josh's. Temperance took a deep breath and stood there a little more relaxed. The water was freezing around her ankles. She would probably catch hypothermia before inevitably drowning.

No, no, no, no, no. It wasn't fair. She'd managed to escape the bullies only to find the school was in lock down because of the silly weather. Now it was only a matter of time before they found her and the torture would begin again. She needed somewhere to hide and quickly. But where? She hurried round the school becoming increasingly more stressed. She had a limited amount of days left, she should be making the most of it, not finding it a living hell. She skirted round the corner and set her eyes on the gym, perfect. Of all the places they'd never expect her there, sports weren't exactly her strong point.

She quickly made her way into it and shut the door behind her. Pitch black. Great. Well at least it would make a good hiding spot, even if they did come looking the power was out and no windows so she could just hide in the darkness. Still it unnerved her a bit and she chose to stay with her back on the door, she didn't want to lose the door and be trapped. Slowly, she slid down to the ground, still leaning on the door. She just hoped the storm would pass soon.

What, was someone in here now? She could simply stay silent in the dark and wait for the storm to pass in silence. However it was too unsettling having someone in the same room as her without knowing who it was, especially in this situation. It wasn't like she had anything else to do either, so she called out once the door had been shut.

    "Hello? Who's there?"

Just as he had predicted the power had gone out shortly after he finished turning everything off. At least this way no sockets would blow and not everything would turn on, blaring, once the power came back.
Now it was silent. Dark. And lonely. Man, if he knew it would be this boring at home he may have just went to school. But he couldn't face everyone there...he was supposed to be a hero and yet-
Suddenly, glass shattered. Curling into a corner in his room Anthony quietly listened. His parents weren't home. No they had worked, since they left before it began raining. It couldn't possibly be his sister, could it?
"He-" No. No he wasn't going to call out now. He was going to hide...like a coward? Really? After yesterday's events he was still going to act like some worthless child instead of the hero he saw himself as? No. Not this time.
Grabbing the flashlight he brought back to his room earlier he slowly made his way downstairs. He kept it dark, hoping to use the flashlight more as a club than an actual light source. Element of surprise and all.
The floor was damp, but for the most part their house seemed like it would be spared from the flooding. Now..who had broken into their home?
