Well, this situation was just looking all kinds of bad, wasn't it?

Vanille listened thoughtfully to Tempy's tale of the magical airship. Did such a thing really exist? She wondered what the magic words were? Not that it would really do them any good; Cresty would probably bring it down!

Her hand went up to the makeshift bandage on her arm, the thick cloth slowly becoming soaked with her blood. At least the flow hadn't been very fast to begin with, but she couldn't believe that she had gotten it in the first place! Careless, careless!

Casey motioned to the pathway; he said it would lead them to the moor. She didn't like boats - there was no way she was getting on one, but there was probably something else there waiting for them! If Quin didn't mess up, hopefully she would have a truck there when they arrived.

Well, what are we waiting for? she asked, still asking her arm, We should get moving! If they were lucky, they could definitely make it to the hideout in the mountains . . .

Casey, lead the way, I don't think we have much time!

She really hoped she was wrong about that . . .

Bernadette had just been kind of listening to everything that was going on. Her brain was working overtime to process what was said. Occasionally she fell behind and became confused, but did her best to infer. They had an escape route. There was no more time to dink around and sit idly by. "Less go," she said a little more forcefully than intended. Bernie flailed her arms motioning for everyone that was sitting to stand and for them to move down the tunnel. If the others were willing to sacrifice themselves then so be it.

Kallisti took off with her bow and arrows. Marina rolled her eyes and waited patiently for the other girl to return. "I need to get to the moor, out back with one of the trucks. You said you would provide distraction, yes?" she asked, jingling the keys nervously, "Please, Marina, be careful. I know it seems ironic, but . . . this is dangerous. Whenever you are ready, we will move."
She nodded once, understanding. It was now or never. With one deep breath she calmed her nerves and took a step forward. "Kallisti," she started, without turning back to look at her, "Please wait here until things settle. I know you will most likely be prone to run out as soon as possible, but if I can convince the cops that I am the only one left here and get them to clear out, then you may leave freely without any hindrance." Marina went silent for a moment and debated whether to say more. Then, she sighed reluctantly and glanced back over her shoulder. Her blue eyes were dark but sparkling. "Do take care not to die. It would be rather fruitless in your endeavors, whatever they may be. You need to make it out alive so that we may settle our differences. Plus, who else am I going to talk to about your delicious cousin?"
Marina raised an eyebrow and a joking smirk lifted the corners of her lips before she moved forward and ascended to the main lever of the house. She stepped out of the shadows and into the clear daytime light. "Excuse me boys," she said. That seemed to definitely gather attention as guns turned and pointed at her. Here goes nothing.

Heidi was beginning to get a sinking feeling as they entered the building, and for good reason too. "We need a decent... What; offering?" She blinked twice, not sure if she heard correctly. Offering for what? "S-should ask... What would you ask for?" Elliot spoke as he rifled around the classroom looking for supplies. Heidi swallowed hard as she nervously walked around the room.
"I'd ask for...An end to the game, probably. But I don't see that happening. An end to this whole witch hunt would be nice, though?" Her brown eyes locked onto Madeline and she chewed on her bottom lip nervously. Just get rid of them. Heidi glanced across the room to see them standing behind Elliot. She shook her head.
"Why... why summon again? Dangerous." She honestly didn't understand. If bad things happened every time Crestatia got involved, why would they want to bring her to them so willing?

Guns were drawn and the soldiers that noticed the girl immediately pointed it at her. They spared no time and just prepared to fire upon the order. "Well, well, well...one of the rats have scurried off out into the open...I commend your bravery" said the deep voice of Derrick as he walked out and smiled "Hold her down...we don't want another incident like with that brat that got away now do we" Derrick said as immediately two soldiers went to her side and instantly grabbed her arms and forced her to her knees. "We've searched everywhere for you brats....you have quite the hiding spot and I intend to seek it out" Derrick said closing his eyes with a chuckle "there were more then 10 of you here so I'm not going to believe your the only one still here...I'll get my answers one way or another" Derrick said as he turned his back on her. "Break her legs so that she cannot run away" Derrick said. The soldiers were lost as they stared at their commander and they questioned whether what they did was right or wrong. "YOU ALL HEAR ME! BREAK HER LEGS! HER FRIENDS LEFT HER TO DIE! REMEMBER THAT SHE IS A PART OF THIS WHOLE TRAGEDY!" Derrick yelled as he looked over his shoulders at her. "I want you to know that merely breaking your legs is the least of your worries" Derrick said with a grin "I want people on high alert...Like I said she may be just a scapegoat and the others may still be around....food, water, supplies....check the places that hold these things...I'll need people outside as well" Derrick said with a chuckle as he walked up to Marina "Well I guess if your all too much of a wuss to do it then so be it" Derrick said.

Casey listened silently to Temperance's words as they walked on and though it really was a relief that Cherno had a possible way to get out, he still could not take comfort due to the fact that it was his bumbling that caused all this in the first place. Giving a nod to Vanille, Casey began to lead the party onwards towards their destination, but paused mid way "what the?" Casey mummbed as he walked on towards a strange object up ahead. As he closed in to it Casey realized what was up ahead and could only close his eye "Oh Wallace...." Casey said sadly as he kneeled down to what seemed like a few huge bag. The bags held many things like food and supplies, and though in their situation this may not be enough, it was still was something valuable for the future. "We have some supplies...lets take what we have to and go" Casey said struggling to carry one of the bags

"Well, well, well...one of the rats have scurried off out into the open...I commend your bravery," greeted the deep voice of a man bearing a sinister grin. "Hold her down...we don't want another incident like with that brat that got away now do we." That was a good sign. It meant the possibility that Cherno had gotten away was rather high. Marina could not help but smile as two soldiers went to her side and instantly grabbed her arms and forced her to her knees. "We've searched everywhere for you brats....you have quite the hiding spot and I intend to seek it out," Good luck with that. He closed his eyes with a chuckle, "there were more then 10 of you here so I'm not going to believe your the only one still here...I'll get my answers one way or another." She gulped nervously. That could not be a good sign.

He turned his back on her. "Break her legs so that she cannot run away," said the man. The soldiers looked lost as they stared at their commander. Oh good, they thought he was crazy too. "YOU ALL HEAR ME! BREAK HER LEGS! HER FRIENDS LEFT HER TO DIE! REMEMBER THAT SHE IS A PART OF THIS WHOLE TRAGEDY!" he yelled as he looked over his shoulders at Marina. "I want you to know that merely breaking your legs is the least of your worries," he said with a grin. That was a bad sign. "I want people on high alert...Like I said she may be just a scapegoat and the others may still be around....food, water, supplies....check the places that hold these things...I'll need people outside as well." With a chuckle, he walked up to Marina, "Well I guess if you're all too much of a wuss to do it then so be it."

A loud painful scream escaped her throat as the snapping sound commenced. Her lip was bloody as she bit down fighting the pain. She took it too soon. If she had waited a little bit longer, then maybe she would not be royally screwed right now. However, given her physical state a few minutes ago, she might not have even survived this leg breaking. Whatever was in that vial renewed not only her physical form, but instilled a new vigor. Tears streaked her face and blood trickled down her chin. "You... can not... break... me..." she choked out between shrieks of agony. "Do you... know who... I am?" Sure, political status probably did nothing for her now, her parents were probably dead, and she was viewed as a terrorist; but it did not hurt to smack it in their face a bit. Even a crooked act now as questions later soldier would understand their mistake.

"My father... will love... to hear about... this..." He was probably dead and only a small part of her felt remorse for that thought. She just needed something to say--anything. Her sentences were choppy as she fought with the unending amount of pain that tortured her. Her legs had never hurt so badly in her entire life. Is this how Bronagh felt when she was pinned under the helicopter? She was seeing dark spots. They would not let her raise her body even an inch from the spot on the floor. This was degrading and painful. I deserve it. I just need to convince them to take me to her. They must know where she is. "Please, no one else... is here... I volunteered. It is... it is my fault... all of this... because of something... something I did..." Marina looked up at the man with pleading eyes. Her blue orbs were dark and lifeless. Dark rings circled underneath and they were red and bloodshot. Her cheeks and nose were red and puffy matching her eyes and tears continued to sting her face, dripping off her chin and landing on the floor beneath her. "I told them... I told them to leave... Cherno... Cherno Plume... he is stubborn... would not go..."

She had to give them something. If she did not tell them anything, then there would be unpleasant ramifications. Marina needed to buy enough time for everyone to get free. Hopefully Kallisti would not run into too much trouble. This was her fate. She came up here knowing fully well that things would go poorly, only hoping that somehow these people would bring her to the woman that started this craziness. "You cannot... cannot... break... me..." she repeated. Marina's head fell to the floor. She was in so much pain.

Marina's taste was left on Harley's lips even long after she had gone. He wondered if that really would be the last time he saw her . . . Probably best not to think about it.

Casey had pulled himself together pretty face; Harley had to admit that he was impressed with the way the kid was handling the situation. They were guided down the dark hall; when they stopped, Harley put all senses on alert, but their guide seemed to have found something, " Oh, Wallace . . . " he murmured to himself sadly, kneeling down to what seemed a few large bags.

So that Wallace-servant hadn't been in on the turning-in thing, had he? It was kind of sad, now that the guy was dead, but this was pretty convenient . . .

" We have some supplies . . . Let's take what we have to and go. "

" This is good, " Harley commented lightly, " Thanks, Wallace. " he said, even though the servant would never hear it.

Vanille moved over to help Casey support the back he was having trouble with, and Harley grabbed one of his own. He looked back at Temperance and the others, " Don't just stand there, " he said coolly, " The faster we move, the faster we get to see your precious Cherno. "

When what they needed was gathered, Harley took point and led them down the rest of the cool passageway. After at least fifteen minutes of walking, Harley nearly ran into a wall. He motioned for the others to stop and set down the bag he carried. Looking up, he saw glum light seeping through was looked like . . . a square ceiling door. How to get up there? Ah, a ladder. Good - it wasn't very high either.

" Alright, " he told the others, " I'll go up first. If you hear yell 'passage', that means you stay down here - no matter what happens. I'll give you the all-clear when I check around. " Vanille gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder and he nodded at her, taking a breath, and then climbing the ladder.

The square door was a bit heavy, but he only lifted it a little to check around. The smell of the sea hit his nose and he found that there was a large wooden building that looked way outdated. He pushed up the door a little more and was able to stick his head out. It didn't seem like anyone was around; this area had probably been bombed, too. He slowly stepped out into the cool sea air and let the door close below him quietly.

As fast as he could, Harley scanned the moor and found that there wasn't a soul in sight. Off in the distance, he saw the back of the Heckles estate and wondered what was going on in there and if . . . Kallisti and Marina were still alive. He must have been out there for too long because he heard the ceiling door open again; Vanille was checking for him. Harley signaled the all-clear.

They moved the bags onto the surface and against the old wooden building.

" Okay, we need to wait for Kallisti, " he explained, looking alertly around the area, " She'll be here with a truck and we can all load in there, along with this supplies, but until then, it'd be best if the rest of you waited in the tunnel. I'll call you out when she gets here. "

The both of them took deep breaths, and Kallisti almost had the urge to hug Marina. No, thank you. She was told to wait until things settled, and altogether she had a very terrible feeling about this.

" Do take care not to die. It would be rather fruitless in your endeavors, whatever they may be. You need to make it out alive so that we may settle our differences. Plus, who else am I going to talk to about your delicious cousin? "

There was that urge again . . . Kallisti gave a half-nervous laugh. The question had lifted both their spirits, but only for a moment, and then it was over. Marina walked up the cellar steps with a confidence that seemed to come from nowhere, and Kallisti silently sent her luck to the other girl.

    " Excuse me boys, "

Kallisti moved against the farthest, darkest corner of the cellar where she was sure not to be found and waited. Her eyes closed, and as she heard the head soldier's cold, cruel voice, she tried to pretend to be somewhere else. Marina would be okay. She had to be okay. Who was Kallisti kidding? This was Crestatia's game. No one was every okay.

Getting through was not going to be easy, but luckily, they all seemed to be near the entrance of the estate, where as she could sneak out back. After a few minutes, things got quiet and Kallisti took it as her cue to go. She gripped her bow and made way towards the stairs, ascending them as quietly and carefully as she could. She could see the kitchen diagonal from where she stood, and then hugged the right side of the cellar entrance. She peered around the corner to her left, and then slipped down the hallway to her right.

All the while, her heart thumped heavily in her chest. Like the last fifty-something days, this would come to pass too, wouldn't it? Kallisti was scared . . .

And because she nearly got lost in her thoughts, she had to dive into a lounge while two socializing troops passed right by her, on the other side of the wall she hid behind. She took a few moments to calm herself and then left the room, heading for the back porch area.

There were rows and rows of plants and shelves to mask her presence, and there quite a few guards to uncover it. Okay. She just . . . had to look at this like it was a maze. How did one kill silently? This was Vanille's kind of game, not hers . . . Kallisti took a deep, deep breath and moved through the rows of plants, and then found herself against one of the glass walls. Glass. Dammit.

She looked behind her to check if anyone was outside and . . . The trucks! Ah, yes, they were still there! She gave this moment to feel exhilarated and happy, and then checked herself and became slightly panicked again. How was she going to get out there, though? Guards were at the doors of the green house/porch . . . After sitting on the thought for a few minutes, she pulled out an arrow and poked herself with the tip. These arrows were probably the best she had ever seen, since they had been made at Antilum.

Could slice through anything like butter . . .

Kallisti looked at the glass for a long moment and then shrugged. Checking over her shoulder once more, she decided this was worth a shot. It took a long time, and she was almost caught more than once, but eventually, she was able to cut a large square out of glass and move through it. Almost home free . . .

And then she stepped on the glass. And it cracked. Loudly.

    Fuck.

    " Hey, what's over - HEY! "

    ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshitohshit

She got to her feet as fast as she could and started running. There had been a fifteen second head start before the guns started going off. She ran faster than she ever had in her entire life, the trucks getting closer with every panicked breath. One bullet grazed her arm. Another, her her leg. Her cheek. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

After eternity passed, Kallisti reached the truck, in pain, covered in her own blood, snatched the keys out of her bra, opened the door and got in, gasping for life. There was tons of yelling and gun shooting, and . . . Was that an alarm? Where did that even come from?

Her body ached, her muscles throbbed, she gasped for breath . . . But she was still alive. Somehow. And bleeding. Sort of . . . badly. There was no time. She turned on the truck, wildly pulled out and sped around the estate, heading for the moor. Slowly, all of the adrenaline drained away, and her gasps turned into nearly uncontrollable sobs. This was terrible. Terrible. SO TERRIBLE. She needed someone. ANYONE. WHERE WAS KAL? Oh god, she couldn't stop crying.

Years seemed to go by, but she finally reached an old wooden building that was the main feature of the moor. Her sobs had died down into sniffles, and she continued to bleed.

" Kallisti! " Harley said with some relief as she stumbled out of the truck, " Fucking hell, you look terrible. Shit, you're bleeding . . . " Another round of crying started as Kallisti hugged Harley tightly, forgetting everything for just one moment.

" Quin! " Vanille said, appearing from seemingly nowhere, and then she opened a door in the ground, " Quin's here, we gotta move the stuff into the truck! " And so it was done, and with bandages that were pulled out from supplies, all of Kallsiti's wounds were wrapped up.

" Alright guys, we're heading out for the house in the mountains. " Harley said.

" It's an hour's drive from here to there, so hang tight! " Vanille added, hopping into the seat next to Harley.

As she sat in the back of the truck, quietly sobbing as everyone else was getting ready to go, she couldn't help but think of Marina, and whether or not her legs were broken.

Asking for a possibly dead friend back seemed enough so he hadn't considered ending the witch hunt. It could have been too much. Though if they were already risking everything they may as well. This game seemed to be an all or nothing type after all. So he nodded at her suggestion before turning his attention back to Heidi.

"You want to do nothing then?" The way he saw it was that just living was dangerous now. They were dodging bombs after all. Compared to that and being hunted down a summoning seemed hardly the thing to worry about. He was tired of not taking action as well. Theodore gave his life for them and they were really willing to stay idle? What a waste that would be.

"Alright then lets see him try...Miss. Sario" Derrick said with a smirk as he pulled out a gun. "So your unbreakable? well then lets see about that" Derrick stated as he immediately slammed down the metallic object straight at her leg with great force. "Tell me! tell me where are they? or...why not tell me why they are after you?" Derrick said pressing the gun into her leg. He let out a chuckle but the moment he heard the trucks leaving an intense rage began to burn. "YOU WORTHLESS PIECES OF SHIT! AFTER THEM" Derrick yelled at the other soldiers and turned back towards Marina and with his other hand he gripped her throat in anger. His grip began to tighten with each little second but then...

"Thats enough Derrick...I'd rather our prisoners stay mentally sane...and alive"

"Milo? what the **** are you doing here?!" Derrick yelled immediately releasing the girl and facing the newcomer that arrived through the doors.

"I've merely come to inspect the situation...and take part of it" the man named Milo said walking towards Marina. He was an old man, but he looked wise and powerful. "I'll be taking the girl now" Milo said

"NO FUCKING WAY! I CAUGHT HER!" Derrick yelled

"From what I've heard she let her be caught....after all you just let not one, but two people escape...its only fair that I take over" Milo said calmly kneeling down and picking up Marina and walked off "well then...I apologies for Derrick's...unnecessary methods...I have a duty to I must fulfuil and unfortunately I must offer you up" Milo said with what seemed to be sadness. Walking into a van, Milo placed the girl into it and sat next to her "now tell me if you wish to live...tell me why they are after you...tell me why you are innocent...if you can give me a good enough answer...if you can prove your innocence...you will gain my protection...your friend summoned an airship out of nowhere....you have a lot of explaining to do"

All Casey did was listen for Harley's words and wait, he waited for the signal and waited for Marina and Kallisti's return to them. They wait and the moment they gained the signal, Casey, Laurence and all the others rushed forward and headed straight into the truck that they retrieved. Though the truck may have carried some supplies, Casey still brought the supplies Wallace left with them as well and hopped in. Kallisti was injured, but there was no sign of Marina anywhere. Casey could only close his eyes tightly and clench his fist "Damn it...you better survive this" Casey muttered silently as their trip began.

"Alright then lets see him try...Miss. Sario." Oh good, so he did know who she was. That was a start. She fought back the urge to cry out in pain some more. It would only be giving him what he wanted. Her blue eyes watched as he pulled out the gun. Her heart skipped a beat and her breathing caught in her throat. "So your unbreakable? Well then, lets see about that," the man stated as he immediately slammed down the metallic object straight at her leg with great force. She could not help it. A scream escaped her throat as she cried out in pain. It was too much. Marina was about ready to pass out from the pain. The only thing she was thankful for was having taken that potion first. She would never survive this in the condition she had been in prior. "Tell me! Tell me where they are or... why not tell me why they are after you?" he said pressing the gun into her leg. She screamed again as he let out a chuckle, but the moment they heard the truck leaving his laughter turned to rage.

"YOU WORTHLESS PIECES OF SHIT! AFTER THEM!" Oh thank God! Kallisti was okay. She escaped. That was good. She could make it to the others. He yelled at the other soldiers and turned back towards Marina and with his other hand he gripped her throat in anger. His grip began to tighten with each little second. She could not breathe. Her throat burned. Marina's eyes began to bulge out of her face as her cheeks turned red. She had never been in so much pain before, not even with the burns and the radiation poisoning. This was torture, pure torture. He will not break me. He will not break me. Tears continued to streak her face as she cried from the pain, unable to breath.

"Thats enough Derrick... I'd rather our prisoners stay mentally sane...and alive."

"Milo? what the fuck are you doing here?!" Derrick yelled immediately releasing the girl and facing the newcomer that arrived through the doors. Her savior. She gasped for air and clutched her throat. It was too much. Dark spots danced in her vision as everything became blurry.

"I've merely come to inspect the situation...and take part in it." the man named Milo said walking towards Marina. "I'll be taking the girl now," said Milo. Where was he taking her? It was getting hard to focus. The pain was too overwhelming. She needed to stay conscious. Marina willed herself to stay awake.

"NO FUCKING WAY! I CAUGHT HER!" Derrick yelled. The fuck he did. She let herself be caught. Easy-peasy.

"From what I've heard she let herself be caught...." Oh, she kind of liked this Milo guy, even if it probably meant bad news, "after all, you just let not one, but two people escape...its only fair that I take over." Two... two people? It was hard to think. Two people...--right, right--Cherno and Kallisti, which meant Olivia was probably safe too. The girl could just fly wherever she wanted. Talk about cheating. Milo calmly knelt down and picked up Marina, walking off. The pain in her legs felt excruciating against his body.

"Well then... I apologies for Derrick's...unnecessary methods... I have a duty to I must fulfuil and unfortunately I must offer you up." Milo said with what seemed to be sadness. Offer her up, to the bag lady? Oh... Oh that was good. That was what she wanted, after all. This was all so she could meet that woman. Walking into a van, Milo placed her into it and sat next to her. She could barely keep her head up. Her legs were screaming out in pain. Why could he not just let her lie down at least? "Now tell me if you wish to live. Tell me why they are after you. Tell me why you are innocent. If you can give me a good enough answer...if you can prove your innocence...you will gain my protection...your friend summoned an airship out of nowhere....you have a lot of explaining to do." An airship? Temperance said something about an airship right before she left, did she not? Cherno must have gotten it somehow with his declaration powers.

Marina blinked twice trying to focus. Tears still poured out as the pain in her legs throbbed uncomfortably. She took a deep breath and held her head. Her blue eyes were dark as she studied the man. He just kept her alive. She should be relieved, but the thought of actually meeting the person that started all of this was terrifying. "Th-thank you..." she managed to choke out. She sounded like a small child. This was too much. No turning back... It was something she had to keep reminding herself. She caused this. There was no turning back. She needed to set things right. "I cannot tell you a little." Marina glanced down at her trembling hands before flashing her gaze back up at the man named Milo. "We messed up, or... more correctly... I messed up." She emphasized that it had been her fault. She was the one that botched the summoning, after all. "We made someone really mad, and this is our punishment." Tears dripped off of her chin and splashed her arms. "I do not know much about Cherno Plume's airship, other than the fact that he won it--it was his prize." Marina clenched her teeth together as she spoke. The pain intolerable. "I let myself get caught. Have to make up for my mistake. Have been trying to find the bag lady..." It was getting harder and harder to speak.

"None of us--" she took a deep breath to calm the pain building up inside her, "--none of us are innocent, especially not me. We have been hurting people and ourselves, to get what we really want. I do not know the location of where they went, nor would I tell you anyway. You have to... You have to give me to that woman..." Her whole body began to tremble. She had never felt so hopeless. Everything inside her screamed to just give up, but what good would that do? She already knew what it felt like to stop existing. That was terrifying. It was about the only thing keeping her going.

Bernadette followed along down the tunnel until they reached a spot where Casey stopped. Why did he stop? Oh, there were supplies--that was good. She helped carry a bag while Harley made a rather rude comment at Temperance. Bernie pursed her lips and blew a lock of hair out of her face before shrugging it off and following close behind him. Their group wasn't doing so well. Harley was sick. Vanille was injured. Casey and Temperance seemed emotionally unstable. John, Laurence, and Thomas seemed kind of useless. She took a calming breath and stared at the back of Harley's neck while they walked. Finally, they reached a ceiling door with a ladder hanging below it. Harley decided he would go up to check things out. She chewed on her lip nervously as she watched him ascend the ladder and waited beside Vanille.

Vanille looked uneasy, and to be Frank, he was taking too long. "All go check," she finally said, setting her bag down, but Vanille stopped her. Bernadette gave her a curt nod and wished her good luck as she climbed up the ladder with her injured arm and peaked her head out the top. After another moment, they were motioned to come up and she slung the bag back over her shoulder. When she reached the top, Bernie tossed the bag onto the surface and pulled herself up. She watched as each of the others quickly surfaced and then shut the trapdoor so no one would see it. Her foot tapped impatiently on the ground beneath her. How long did they stand there waiting? Anxiety filled her until the truck finally began to rumble in the distance. As it neared, she noticed only one person inside. That was a bad sign.
Quickly, they all piled in. It was cramped fitting the nine of them and the bags inside, but they made due. "It's an hour's drive from here to there, so hang tight!" She squished in between Casey and Temperance. It seemed almost deadly to be in the middle of them, but someone had to act as a barrier. Hopefully this would help keep things under control.

"The faster we move, the faster we get to see your precious Cherno." Temperance had shot daggers at him. Harley was a right ass. She didn't care if some of the others didn't see it. She never liked the guy. He was a man-whore-pig and a pompous asshole. If there hadn't been so many people around, she probably would have clawed his face off, or at the very least, shanked the fucker. He deserved a good stabbing. She walked silently near-ish John the whole way out of the tunnel. He kind of understood. Cherno had been friends with the bible banger for a long time. To be completely honest, she had no clue how those two could stand each other, but then she wondered the same thing about herself.

She had been reeling about Harley's unnecessary comment the whole way until they were finally safely inside the truck. There was definitely not enough room with this many people. Her horribly damaged fingernails rapped against her knee as she sat squished in the backseat with practically half her body placed on German girl. She would go right out that windshield if they got into an accident. Wouldn't that be fun? she though sarcastically.

"You want to do nothing then?"

Heidi glared at Elliot. She wasn't one to usually glare, but something brought it out in her. She had been feeling unusually angry the last couple days. You know why deary. Just get rid of him. Get rid of both of them. They are only going to treat you like crap. It's all anyone does. Look at the sharp objects over there. Would you like us to bring you one? They pointed off to a cabinet that was left open. It had sharp sciencey tools left inside. They could do plenty of damage to someone. "I want to not die." She glanced over at them and they glided across the room, placing their hands on her shoulders in support. "Which could happen to you." Her face was void of emotion and her dark eyes twinged something sinister. Please don't. I don't like feeling this way. Come now deary. It's our turn to show everyone else how it feels to be belittled.

Reaching inside for his pockets with the scalpels he had stored away would be too noticeable and hard with the suit on. But with the crazy one sounding like she was... Just the glare had been enough to make him worry. Why was she making things so difficult for them?

He looked down in front of him, at the table of things he gathered. The glass jars filled with animals and parts could be used to hit her on the head, if it came to that. But first he would at least try talking his way out of any conflict. "W-we don't even exist, why does dying matter? We could, t-though. But not without taking the risk."

Cherno patched Olivia up and decided that they would track the movements of the others to meet them later. Avoiding the jets, they set the airship down near the Burnt Mansion, made a few repairs, returned it to its sphere for tge night, and climbed down into one of the tunnels that were under all of Brookridge outside the house near the forest for the night. They went to sleep.

Olivia told Cherno that she would split off tomorrow morning to go look for the others on the moor, so Cherno would have to stay by her computers in this house to keep her and the aorship safe. And then they SLEEEEEEEPT

Were they really going through this, right now? Could absolutely nothing go smoothly, even with just three of them? Sure, the kid was nutso--that was clear--but did she really have to 'snap' right here--before some actual progress could have been made? Madeline stared at her quietly for a few moments, noting the darkened look upon her face. That was it. The final straw. Everyone in this 'game' was a counter-productive sack of shit and Madeline was was fed up. Sick of it. Sure, she hadn't really done anything substantial lately, but she didn't get in people's way. The familiar bubble of anger rose up inside of her until she felt her fingertips tre the suit.

"W-we don't even exist, why does dying matter? We could, t-though. But not without taking the risk."

    Madeline wasn't so nice.

    "...What was that? Come again?"

Her tone was flat, her own eyes glaring needles at the stupid little fucker. She was tempted to grab one of the chairs and whack it over the crazy bitch's head a few times. No, more than a few times. Over and over and over and over and over again. Madeline wanted blood. She wanted this idiot brunette's skull cracked open, neck snapped and pink brains splattered all over the classroom floor. Yeah, she was angry, but it was a different kind of angry than she had ever been before (this was a lie). More than anything, she was tired.

She wanted things to improve and they weren't changing. Honestly, Madeline had tried to work together with everyone. Deep inside, Madeline knew she wasn't perfect. She knew she wasn't always right, but a lot of her ideas so far would have proven useful--if followed. Her suggestions were ignored time and time again, and why? Because she wasn't likable? What, were people so moronic that they let their bias get in the way of life or death situations?

Madeline's thoughts flashed back to the auditorium. During the flood she had tried suggesting that they all open up to each other and try to do some form of bonding. Immediately, after being ignored, they all began to discuss the subject of killing each other. How funny it was that that was accepted so much easier--excluding Chernbo.

Her eyes darted towards Elliot for a moment, hoping that if anything happened, he would step in, and without completely realizing it, Madeline had inched closer to the girl.

"Listen here, you fucking idiot, now is not the time for your crazy. Elliot and I are going to summon Crestatia, and we're going to try and put a stop to some things--for the sake of everyone in this game. You are going to be our vessel, alright? And if not that, then you will end up being our blood sacrifice. I am not fucking with you, get a goddamn grip on yourself. "

She shouldn't have said that--Nope, nope, nope. Heidi had done her best to be good for so long. She had held them back for a very long time. They didn't like it when people mistreated her. They were the only ones allowed to do so. So when Madeline inched closer and got in her face, Heidi could no longer hold them back. She hurt. Madeline's words hurt her. She had the inability to stop them because she was upset. She lost control. Heidi could do nothing to protect the evil strawberry blond girl standing in front of her. Everything was eerily quiet inside her head. They told her to go sit at the table while they took care of the problem. She curled up underneath it, watching as if it were on a television screen. It all seemed so surreal. She watched through her eyes, but her eyes were the screen. The room was white like last time, void of everything but the table and chairs. The tea set still remained on the wooden surface, but it was untouched. She was curled up underneath as she watch.

"Let me tell you something you little fucking twit bitch, no one, and I do mean no one, talks to her that way. We're the only ones allowed to make her feel terrible. You're lucky she didn't kill you when we told her to. Now we're going to do something about your bad fucking attitude." Heidi stepped closer to Madeline, closing all distance between them. She had to crane her neck up to glare daggers at her with dark menacing eyes, but it made no difference to them. A devilish smirk crossed her delicate face and she lunged at the taller blond, wrapping her hands around her throat. "NO ONE talks to her like that. You want a blood sacrifice so FUCKING BAD, THEN YOU CUT YOURSELF." Her voice was stronger than it had ever been, but that was because she was no longer talking. Heidi remained curled up, watching...

"YOU," she turned her attention to Elliot as she clutched Madeline's throat with all her might, "YOU KEEP TO YOURSELF UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE NEXT." She was seething. Her deadly gaze turned back to Madeline as the smile crept back onto her lips. "If you want to live, then you can be the vessel." She let go of the blond and pushed her to the floor. "We're in charge now. Not Heidi. You're not going to push her around." They laughed sinisterly. Please stop. Please don't do this. She crawled out from under the table. She hated being trapped inside. It was terrifying. Please leave them alone. They just want to help everyone else. "No. They deserve what's coming to them." They didn't bother speaking internally. They wanted Elliot and Madeline to hear what they had to say. Please...

It was late night by the time the truck reached the sanctuary in the forest. Vanille had said it would only take an hour, but there were roadblocks everywhere, and they almost got caught so many times is wasn't even funny. Their stops between the four or five hours of driving were at least twenty minutes each, and they had drifted so far from the road every time that it was a mystery they hadn't gotten lost.

At last, the truck came to a stop in front to a large house. Harley raised an eyebrow; this wasn't the place he had come to last time. He looked questioningly at Vanille and she smiled. " You didn't think I was gonna let you give away where we were really going, were you? " she said with a giggle. She was more careful than that, for sure.

Harley walked around to the back of the truck while Vanille hopped her way up to the mansion to unlock it. They had driven around the back, so there was a good chance they wouldn't be noticed here until tomorrow night.

"Sorry about the long right, guys," he told the group in the back of the truck, motioning them out, "We're finally here. Vanille will take you to the rooms we'll be sharing."

On cue, the small, bouncy girl appeared and guided the all in to the ominous-looking mansion. " There shouldn't be anyone here, hopefully." Vanille said, slightly doubtful, " But we should be safe for the night. "

Eventually, she led them all to a very large room where there were lots of blankets and pillows laying around, as if someone had been expecting their arrival. Vanille frowned at the room, but kept her thoughts to herself.

" For the wounded, it's time to change your bandages. " That process was over and done with in a few fast minutes. " Tomorrow, we'll talk about what we'll do next . . ." Harley rubbed the back of his neck, " Any questions, comments, or concerns?"

Madeline's glance ensured his full attention, though to say it was elsewhere would be incorrect. He simply felt like, despite being the one to start this, he would not have to get in-between the two. Siding with one meant the other would be against him for the rest of their life. Or so he thought at first. Now it seemed like the other would do nothing but taint his hands with their blood.

Things were processing quickly. Something would have to be done soon so he instantly thought of whose side to chose. Madeline was frightening, but at least more stable. Heidi seemed okay, when in control. But in these times could anyone find the proper medication to stay in control? It seemed near impossible to. So the choice was rather clear, though he really didn't want to make it.

    Not like that mattered.

The smaller one was already declaring them enemies, somehow sounding protective of their host though in a hypocritical sort of way. It was horrid. He wanted to reply, to say how awful this side of her was, but his voice was lost in the chaos, along with his hopes to resolve this peacefully. Maybe because he was scared, a feeling he never dealt with very well. Not true fear, anyway.

Then she was strangling Madeline. That was when his hand shot for one of the glass jars, not wasting time to find a more suitable thing to use as a weapon. He froze when she looked at him, though once the attention returned to the blond he picked it up. Getting close enough to hit her seemed foolish, she'd notice him before he had his chance to strike. So instead he threw it at her. Sure he had a horrid pitch, but the distance between them was so small it didn't make much difference. Madeline was pushed down, so she was out of the way. And even if it didn't do much to completely stop her the glass and the liquid inside would be enough to at least would and distract Heidi.

After that he closed the distance between them, picking up a shard of glass on the way. The suit may make it harder, but he knew just how to cut someone's neck in order for them to bleed out quickly, even with such a makeshift knife. It would only take a minute, if done right.

Madeline rolled her eyes. What, was she supposed to be afraid of the loon? Sure, her voice had become more aggressive, but her body was still tiny. Weak. Frail. There was no doubt she had spent a good amount of time inactive, physically. Probably doped up, if she had always been this crazy. Had Madeline been more built herself, she could have easily retaliated. But she was hungry, overheated , and weighed down by this stupid suit... on top of being small herself. It didn't even make sense for her to be the one at the summoning between the two of them. She didn't want to make a deal!! She was absolutely stupid! Crazy brunette wrapped her fingers around Madeline's neck as best as she could with the suit's protection. Perfect. Not being able to breathe very well was no fun, but she attacked her. That would give Elliot the means to strike, preferably before she lost consciousness. Luckily, Madeline was pushed down before that happened.

She spent the time Elliot had granted her taking deep breaths and steadying her vision before standing back up. Completely nuts. It was sad. Gazing out of the classroom window, she could tell that it was getting late. They could have been finished by now. This could have been ended by now. Why did everyone always have to fuck something up? Adrenaline pumped through her veins at the sound of the shattering glass. She swiveled around and eyed Elliot, who was picking up a shard of glass at the time. Her lips twitched with a smile, but it left soon after. Her head hurt.

"Do it," she mumbled softly. "Don't feel bad."

Sure, it was disturbing and sadistic of her to be a bit eager to watch any throat slitting that may occur, but Madeline was being genuine, as well. No one should have to kiss someone elses' ass just to keep them sane. If all it took was some blunt honesty to make the girl get physically violent, then she deserved it. She would get in their way. Madeline wasn't particularly fond of the maybe-gay boy, but she didn't want him to beat himself up, either. This game had messed with all of them. They needed to toughen up to pull through. This needed to end. If crazy-girl was truly, violently, against them, she needed to be gone. No guilt. Madeline was getting tired. They needed to hurry up and accomplish something.

"Thats...unfortunate" Milo said closing his eyes as he gently pushed her down and spread her legs to a much more relaxing position. "You...your not such a bad little girl...I'm beginning to see just why my good friend Marshall decided to risk his life to save you all" Milo said pausing after saying that as he closed his eyes "Unfortunately I am not him...and I will have to do as you wish and take you to that woman" Milo said silently. "Your friends have quite the challenge up ahead...I do hope if their fate is to be caught then I'd be me to capture them....what you endured from Derrick....was nothing" Milo said. He knew the man was furious and he pitied whoever came across him. With that the van started and their travel began "Your a strong girl" Milo said calmly.

Casey could honestly say he was glad that Bernadette sat beside him and block him off from Temperance. It wasn't like he wanted any negative thoughts between the two, but at this point there was no way he could prevent that. For Now Casey relaxed himself during the ride and once they arrived at their destination he immediately hopped out along with Laurence and the others. He listened to their words and merely closed his eye calmly upon listening. The bandages that covered his body were soon changed and Casey could admit it felt better to change the bloodied bandages. There was nothing he could say, nothing he could bring himself to say. Marina said he wasn't worthless, but this did not fully convince him at all.

It was a very long and tiresome trip. Vanille had told them it would only be an hour, but things had gotten difficult along the way. She was jittery as her electric blue eyes stared absently out the window the whole way. How many times had it seemed as if they were in danger?--too many to count. When they finally pulled out to the very large house--jeesh, did everyone in Brookridge live in a mansion?--she couldn't be any more relieved to finally get out of the very cramped truck. She stretched her legs before grabbing a bag and heading inside with the others. Bernadette helped with the bandaging of others before grabbing one of the oddly placed blankets and pillows in the room. She scooped them up in her arms before finding a couch to lay down on, but was too antsy for sleep.

"All go keep vatch for now." Bernie pulled the pillow and blanket over to a nearby window. She curled up in front of it to watch. Even if they thought there was no need for her to do so, she felt more secure this way. Her blue eyes stayed focused on the outside world until they became too heavy to keep open any longer. After what seemed like hours, she had finally fallen asleep.

Temperance climbed out of the truck agitated and stormed inside. She walked passed everyone stormed through the house, ripping doors open until she found a vacant bedroom. She was tired of all these people's bullshit, especially Jackson's. His comment was enough to make her crappy mood even crappier. She slammed the bedroom door and curled up, seething. The feeling of despair had been replaced with anger. She was ready to bash someone's face in. Temperance decided to go to bed before she gave into that desire. It was so very tempted.

Do it. He repeated her words in his mind. Don't feel bad.

Did he feel bad? Emotions were so hard to understand, which is why he ever hardly bothered with them before. They just came and went without much thought. So now, when he was ready to take another's life, he really had no idea how he felt. She didn't exist. She attacked them first. Their lives would be in danger if she continued to live. So something had to be done. And he had to be the one to do it. So he would forget about emotions and just focus on the logic of it all.

One hand took Heidi's shoulder to lessen the chances of making a mistake and help his other hand guide to her throat. The suit didn't little to stop the shard and he was sure he aimed correctly. So hopefully this would now be over.

Vanille watched as Harley stood in the restroom, hovering over the sink. She mentally weighed all of the thick, red liquid that came out of his mouth. One ounce. Better than this morning . . .

"We won't be better when you die." she said in an uncharacteristic tone, her voice plain, "It's going to get worse, isn't it?"

He nodded slowly. "How is Kallisti?" he asked.

"The blood flow has stopped. I'm really, really surprised she's not dead! It seems like a lot of guns were shot at her . . ."

"Good." He coughed again, and then wiped his mouth, rinsing it with little Dixie cups. "I'll take first watch," he told her when he turned around. He looked really tired. Vanille frowned. The two of them walked away from the restroom and into the sleeping area.

"Tempy will be lots of trouble," she commented in a whisper, "I'll keep an eye on her?"

Harley sighed, rubbing the back of his neck, "She's just worried about Cherno. She likes him, y'know." His voice dropped lower, "I feel for her, but we can't be dwelling on that kind of stuff for long."

"Casey ~" Vanille said with a smile on her face, keeping quiet to not wake up anyone else, "It'll be alright. None of this is your fault. You couldn't have known." She patted his hair softly, "Get some sleep, 'kay? Things'll be better tomorrow."

She moved over to adjust herself next to the sleeping Kallisti and Harley took a seat by one of the windows, the moonlight reflecting his tired and pale face. She closed her eyes, snuggled under one of the blankets, and fell asleep.

" I - don't - kn - know anything . . . " the woman gritted out, her arms, legs and back covered with lash marks. The angry flesh throbbed and the pain was enough to make her pass out, but she held on to the notion that she truly didn't know where they were.

"I'm calling her bullshit. One of them is her adopted daughter, the other is her nephew, the last is her real daughter." the officer spat, "This bitch has gotta know where they are."

"Peace, Warren." the captain said calmly, walking around the woman bound to the chair, resting his hands on her shoulders, "She only needs the right . . . motivation."

    "You b - bastards . . . Lorin - da - put you up to this, d - did she nah - not . . . ?"

"I think that's the least of your problems, Lilith Lein." the captain commented as the whip was brought around once more, " You will tell us where your hideouts are."
