Things were certainly not going to be easy since Casey barely knew most of these people. He was glad to see Bernadette help out but he'd rather she didn't do anything since she was a guest. Nonetheless in the end the girl had taken over and him and Wallace merely let her be. An assortment of food had been placed out already and most of the work had been done so there was little that needed to be done yet. Casey was surprised at the work that was placed into this hidden abandoned manor to the point that he never expected to even return to this place in the first place. Wallace really cleaned up the place and to have so many supplies showed how much hard work was placed in here. Fresh food was definitely going to be a problem later on with all the radiation, but for now they really did not need to worry for the moment.

After a small and quick conversation with Wallace, Casey let out a sigh as he took a seat nearby. Fatigue was now common and after all the work he put in yesterday and the wounds on his body he was getting tired fast. "For now no news has come in yet. I have somebody named Jackson looking out for any others...Its not much but its whats best for now" Casey said closing his eyes "What we've got to do now is come up with a future course of action to take. We obviously cannot stay here for long and surely Crestetia will be taking action if things don't move" Casey said. He disliked talking about such things, but the 50th day had passed and Casey figured things would become far more difficult now that they passed the half point.

    xxxxx"Hey."
    "Hey, hey there."
    "You shouldn't be doin' that."

xxxxxShe flicked off another cigarette butt out onto the open moor, watching it fall away by the winds as the car kept sailing forward on the open road, ignoring the gruff voice near her.
    "Try and stop me, windbag."
"Not while I'm here drivin' this thing to get this damned trouble child outta my sight."
"Hahahahaha!" She turned her head towards the driver, with a wide-eyed smile. Her saccharine voice was tinged with bitterness, like a broken doll's repetitions."You're a real riot, y'know that mister bartender?"
She turned her head back to the window.
"Y'know the way of the World's End."
He sighed. "I know the way of the World's End-- 'course I fuckin' know! It's my bar!"

xxxxxThe young girl grit her teeth, a disgusted grimace lining her cheeks.
All of these adults were weak and stupid. She really didn't need them, but it helped to use their easily bendable selves to her own whim. Especially when they tried being "noble" enough to protect a -- ooh, cute, innocent little girl?

    xxxxxSick.

xxxxx"Then why'd you have to kick me out, you buffooneriffic clown?"
"I'm taking you to the moor where you won't get hit by the rowdy other bartenders or those damn missiles."
She continued to flick cigarette butts out the open window, having collected a small pile by her side.
"You're leaving me out in the wild? You really are a waste of a human."

xxxxxShe said the word like it was cod oil upon her tongue.

xxxxx"Look, girl--" The bartender said, turning around.
The girl swerved her head to meet him, her eyebrows furrowed. "Keep your fucking eyes on the road! Do you want us to get killed?! Crash into explosions? BOOM!" She widened her arms for dramatic effect.

xxxxxShe hoped this guy would burn up in a fire soon.
Like all the other idiots back in the city. Give the nuclear bomb stuffs a nice, warm embrace. Ass clown. She'd rather be left alone on the road anyway than spend another moment with him.

xxxxxHe turned back to the wheel.
"If I left you there, they'd all rip you ta shreds, you know that, yeah?"
"So what? I'd just slit their poor little throats~" The girl said this with a sing-song tone. "And that'd be the end of that."
"I'm not letting anymore deaths in my ol' bar. That's one of the reason's I'm kicking you out too."
"Don't blame me, imbecile! I didn't kill anyone while I was living there. I'm not one of the stupid biker gang members from the southern parts of the city. Besides--" The girl let out a few coughs.

xxxxx"--Ah, besides-- Besides. All's fair in defendin' yourself, especially when the goddamn planet is being bombed to shreds. Survive or lose your life. I'll kill if I have to. I'll do it! I-- I promise you I'll do it! Can't y'see what the world's come to? Now even the lucky ones get to feel the fear of death in their hearts. Ahaha. It's-- it's all perfect ..."

    xxxxxHer voice trailed off.
The girl looked out the window, pensive in thought.

She let out another deep cough.

xxxxxThe bartender continued driving, and for a long while, only the sound of the chugging car permeated the silence.

xxxxx"... When I kick you out, ya better kick that there ol' habit of yours like you're doin' to them cigarettes, ya hear?"

xxxxxShe didn't reply, continuing to flick them out the window. She knew the way of the World's End.
There were two types of adults in this rotten, bomb-blasted world. Those who cared too much about themselves, and those who cared too much about others. About her. And both types were useless idiots.

Bernie stood in front of the stove conversing with Vanille. She was happy that someone had come to greet her. It made her feel included and even though things were so wacked out and crazy, it was nice to have someone be her friend. Casey finished talking to the older gentleman, Wallace, and she hummed softly as the food sizzled on the stove. She smiled as Cherno came walking in. "Guud Mornen," she greeted him.

"Yo." Cherno greeted. "Do we know if Theodore's little ditty returned yet? It's been a grand-stonkering night, hasn't it," he paused for a moment, "... You aren't just making meat dishes, are you?"
She frowned at him and pointed the spatula in his face. Immediately after, a different girl whom she had little acquaintanceship came walking and and stood beside him. "I'd like to know what happened to the others as well," the dark-haired girl said upon entering. "Afraid of a little meat?" The few encounters Bernie had had with her were never positive, but now she kinda liked her. She smirked at the pair before turning her attention back to the sizzling stove.
"For now no news has come in yet. I have somebody named Jackson looking out for any others...It's not much but it's whats best for now." Casey said closing his eyes, "What we've got to do now is come up with a future course of action to take. We obviously cannot stay here for long and surely Crestetia will be taking action if things don't move."
She set the spatula down after sliding the bacon off the pan and onto a plate. "Vee cuud go to Deutschland," she half-joked in hushed tones. Bernadette had grown rather homesick from all of this. Her family and friends were probably freaking out and sick with worry. She wished to be able to let them know she was relatively all right. They needed to leave and it seemed as safe a place as any--to bad air travel sounded like a very dangerous idea.

Neither of them replied. One looked sketchy and the other was...observing? A fine thing to do but rather pointless now. Oh. He didn't want to be a leader of a group. To be on his own would have been better than that. Maybe, if he was lucky, they wouldn't follow.

But then that would make it hard to summon, huh...

    "R-right... We should move..."

Heaving a sigh Elliot turned and began walking. It would take hours to get to the school so they may as well get a move on now. If they were lucky and didn't run into any troubles then they could be there by the afternoon. He wondered if anyone else was there... Well, Marina suggested it as a rendezvous. So hopefully that meant it was at least safe enough for a temporary resting place. How temporary really depended on how it was like when they got there.

Madeline really didn't want to do that. She wanted to stay there and wait. This suit was killing her. She felt gross and sweaty, and she just wanted to lay down. It would take forever walking anywhere, especially in these conditions. She wished the other's hadn't left them there. Couldn't they have just escaped the tunnels and waited outside? Were they really so terrible? Her nose crinkled up and she rolled her eyes.

    "Fine..."

And so, Madeline started trudging after Elliot quietly and with immense irritation, hoping another bomb didn't drop.

Marina managed to pull herself off of the bed after a few very effort-filled attempts. She shakily placed the vial back into her pocket before picking up the rag on the bed and stumbled towards the door. Her hands wrapped around the doorknob and she had to use it to steady herself. The smell of food wafted up to her and her stomach growled unpleasantly. It had been days since she last ate anything. Last night's sleep was heavenly. She had gone longer without sleep than without food. Marina only wished she could curl up for longer. I need to find out what is going on with everyone else. We do not have much time.

She pulled the door open slowly and groped the wall for balance. As Marina reached across the hall to go from the bedroom to the banister, her footing slipped. She rolled across the hall and reached out for the bars, but her fingers missed and she went tumbling down the wooden steps. Marina cried out in pain as she hit the bottom step and was splayed out on the floor. Her hand reached up to her head, but another coughing fit seemed to overwhelm her before having the opportunity to do anything else. Tears streaked her too-pale cheeks as she coughed up blood into the rag and curled into a ball on the floor.

Casey could only smile at the response Bernadette made and sighed "sounds easy...but we have no way of getting a flight and airtravel would just be far too dangerous" Casey said with another sigh closing his eye. Things were already dangerous and as much as he hated to say it all their actions of progress was because of Crestetia. They needed to walk on their own and prepare for something not because Crestetia threatened them. They didn't exist and their deaths would mean nothing in the end. If they wished to have meaning they would have to stand and prepare themselves for the future. There were still things he didn't know, important things that were needed to needed.

As Casey pondered on with this thought the sudden sound of banging reached his ears and immediately Casey opened his eye. Something was definitely wrong and the moment he realized this he got off his seat and rushed towards the source of the sound while ignoring the fatigue and pain he felt. What awaited him was the sight of Marina up ahead laying on the last step and in pain. With this in sight Casey immediately rushed as fast as he could and crouched down to her side and held her "Marina! Marina are you alright?!" Casey asked as he looked down at her in fright. He never called her by her full name, but this scene just terrified him. Marina was somebody very special to him. Even if she never though of him as anything he still cared for her deeply. Altair died, his families status was unknown and his granduncle had died risking his life to save him. He felt useless and seeing Marina is pain like this only strengthened this. He wanted to cry, but the tears wouldn't fall. All he wanted to know was that his strong Psychic Mari was alright.

Thomas tied up his left shoe and took a deep breath to calm himself. He stood up and stretched, testing his muscles and trying to gauge and remember if they even matched his old strength. They didn't, but time would tell if he could get there. And the only way to even try getting there was by constant training, and for another more important reason he found himself looking for the lord of the house, or at least one of the servants. He couldn't find any after a few minutes, and his stomach was rumbling, his feet began to steer him towards the smell of freshly crisped red strips of delectable pig. Bacon. A pretty blonde with adorable blue eyes was settling the culprit that assualted his nose on a plate and he politely refrained from touching them until she gave the say so. She hadn't, and so he took this oppurtunity to nervously rake his hand through his raven colored hair to untangle the curls on his head and take an plate and find suitable things to eat from the table prepared by the Heckle staff, he then settled into an empty chair and gave a quick scan for his favorite blond or the black haired lord of the estate.

After finding neither he frowned and trained his eyes on anyone willing to listen, "I want to go back to the exit we took out the tunnels. I want to check the rubbles and see if anyone is...alive. It isn't right to try to move on without knowing. I can't seem to find Casey." The younger boy was named Casey, right? "Does anyone know where I can find him? I keep getting lost on my own." His own cool blues went from person to person, he knew at least two people would hear him, his old Bellhurst mates. The fiery, green eyed cheerleader, Temperance and the funny talking, funny guy, Cherno. How could you forget such unique names? He hoped they knew, otherwise, it was back to more wandering.

    "R-right... We should move..."

Heidi glanced over to Elliot before nodding solemnly and following after him and Madeline. She had no clue how to get the school that housed them all. She was better at getting lost and losing things than finding them. Her footsteps fell in time with the others until she stumbled forward. The ghostly dark hands pushed on her shoulders and she whipped her head around while walking. A creepy white smile glowed in the shadowy figure and she narrowed her darkening eyes at them. "Don't push me," she muttered after the small nudge they had given her.

A few minutes later, her shoulders lurched forward, ahead of her knees, and she almost hit the ground. Heidi managed to catch herself and correct the improper walking. Her head snapped back around and they were snickering behind her. "I said don't push me." Her voice was sharp and dangerous. They were clearly getting what they wanted. They were trying to entice her into doing something unpredictable. She returned her attention to the two in front of her. There was no doubt in her mind that they heard her the second time and she nervously began chewing on her lower lip while still walking.

Marina heard the urgent footsteps rush to her side as a figure roughly the same size as her lifted her up. She was in someone's arms, but she could not tell who until they spoke. "Marina! Marina are you alright?!" A small smile curled at the corners of her lips and she returned his gaze. She never thought she would miss the sight of the long pink-haired boy. The one cradling her in his arms was still him, but different. Marina liked innocent sweet Casey. If there was one person in the world she could wish for nothing bad to ever happen to, it would be him. She liked him better that way--even though she had learned through their many sessions together that his life had been anything but easy. Her eyes rolled back as she coughed into his sleeve. Marina clung to his arm with what little strength she had and rested her cheek against his chest.

"I am fine now Casey. Thank you so much. You have done a great deal to help me." The fresh burn on her calve stung as it rubbed against her pant leg. What could be better than burning an already open infected sore? Casey had come to her rescue on the stage, and here he was now helping her at the bottom of the steps. She lifted her head and smiled up at him as tears continued to stream lightly down her cheeks. "You look better with pink hair--if I do say so myself, and I do." Her light sing songy chuckle turned into another fit of bloody coughing and her head rolled to the side.

When it finally subsided, her voice was darker, more ominous. She kept her eyelids shut tightly and spoke quiet enough for only Casey to hear. If anyone else had joined them in the room, she could not see it. "You should kill me Casey. I do not wish to experience the feeling of no longer existing once again, but I have used up all my resourcefulness. I am sick, and I am dying. The only thing I will be able to do now is burden everyone else. I have gone quite some time without food in order to allow other people that are far healthier to thrive while I will not be able to. I do not wish to call upon Crestatia a second time. Making a deal with her just so that I do not die of disease seems like a waste. I have stopped practicing, but I can tell that my life has been pending for some time. I do not know how much more entertainment I can provide her with, unless she finds me struggling to hold on amusing." She chuckled low and dark. Her throat was hollow and parched. The only thing keeping the burn away was the coating of the red sticky liquid inside her throat.

    [OOC: --- WearingLocation:Casey Heckle's ManorMood: Sick Day:51 3/3]

A thud sounded and Casey had immediately rushed out of the kitchen. Temperance cared little about what the source of the sound could be and just moved across the kitchen until she could reach the bacon. After sniffing it once, she chalked up that it was most definitely not turkey bacon and sighed before popping it into her mouth. Dieting seemed to be of little importance now, not that she really needed to lose any more weight--she was already skin and bones. "I want to go back to the exit we took out the tunnels. I want to check the rubbles and see if anyone is...alive. It isn't right to try to move on without knowing. I can't seem to find Casey." At the sound of Thomas's voice, who had just entered the room moments ago, she stopped chewing and narrowed her bloodshot green eyes at him. She neither here nor their on Thomas. She liked him a lot more before he started showing so much affection for Madeline. Now he was just... irksome.

"Casey just went running out of here. There was some sort of noise and he seemed to be in quite a hurry," she paused to continue chewing on the bacon until it was all gone. "As for going back, I would like to go too. I mean, I wasn't there for your little incident, but we should definitely find the others." So I can kick the shit out of Madeline after. Temperance picked up another slice from the plate the blond German girl had it on and moved gracefully out of the kitchen.

The night had been long and filled with restlessness. The only clear thing that she could think about was the fact that Madeline was not here, in safety, with them. She had been trapped, along with the rest of the Theodore's truck, in the tunnels. Had they been crushed when it closed off? It was best not to think about it, so for the remainder of the day, she kept herself busy by checking, grouping, and gathering supplies for their leave.

It was clear that they were unable to stay at this secluded mansion for anything more than a few days. Their situation was looking more grim by the hour, but they had to keep it up if they wanted to survive.

Kallisti had been secluding herself from the others, but what she wanted more than anything at the moment was human company to keep her warm. She wanted Madeline.

It was bad to want Madeline. Bad. She sighed.

The kitchen had been filled with voices, and she followed them to find, Bernadette, Cherno, Casey, and Vanille. It seemed that something was cooking. Oh, food. Wonderful. She supposed.

A conversation about their next location ensued, and then there was a commotion at the stairs, " Marina! " echoed Casey's voice after he rushed out of the room, " Marina, are you alright?! " Kallisti couldn't bring herself to move, to see if the girl was alright. Her condition was bad, terrible - hopeless, even. There was nothing to do about her.

" We must think of places to go, other shelter to seek, " she said to the others, " Even if we must, splitting into small groups may be a decent idea. " In truth, one of those groups - the one she might be in - would be a search party, to find those still trapped in the tunnels . . .

" I think I might know a place we could stay! " Vanille chirped, the sound slightly echoing behind her iron-made mask. Harley might have been thinking of the same location, who knew, but he wasn't really paying attention because he had been out of the room with Casey, going to Marina's aid.

Harley kneeled at Marina's side as she was held in Casey's arms. He would much rather be holding her, but she wasn't a rag doll, and he didn't plan to yank her around. The back of his hand went to her forehead; burning - hot.

" It's the radiation sickness, " he told Casey. He suddenly wished Elliot was here - the little doctor would know what to do, but whether or not the kid was alive, he didn't know. Not just for Marina, but for himself, too. The morning had been crap; Harley didn't know how long he had spent in the restroom, chucking up his guts and at least five ounces of blood, but it was a hell of a long time.

It had been a **** idea to take off that suit, but there was no way in hell they would have gotten back to Theo in time with the medicine. Their mission had been successful, but now he was paying the price - and it was just a matter of time. But Marina wanted him to live, and he still had a good few weeks left in him, but not much longer than that.

" We should move her, " he told Casey, and then gently grabbed her frail body from his arms and lifted her up, placing her on a nearby couch seconds later, " Not sure how much longer she's gonna last . . . Marina, you in there? " He moved a wisp of hair out of her face and then listened to the conversation in the kitchen from her side. She began to say something to Casey, but he didn't hear a single word of it.

" There's a house in the mountains that I know how to get to. And it's fortified against bombings and such, and it also has a small tunnel system! " Vanille explained, " But it would definitely be a bad idea to head there all at once, too, too suspicious . . . What do you all think? "

She heard another voice, but her thoughts were groggy. Marina still had not opened her eyes, and suddenly she felt weightless. Strong warm arms had enveloped her as she was lifted higher and higher. She was beginning to lull in and out of consciousness. The sleep fatigue and lack of food was draining her mental state. Combined with the newly established fever, Marina was slowly starting to become delirious. Something soft rested beneath her as she felt herself being lowered. Her eyes were still sealed shut and gentle fingers grazed her forehead. A playful smile spread across her face as she thought about something too inappropriate for the situation. Oh how she was starting to feel was baren and dried up, literally. ". . . Marina, you in there?" Oh, oh she knew that voice. She knew it well. She liked the sound of that voice--the warm breath on her neck as she happily played the piano. Marina reached out for Harley's hand, her skeletal fingers lacing with his.

"Ah, Mister Jackson, how I have yearned for your company." The smile turned to a playful smirk as her eyes remained shut. Her hair was becoming rather unsightly as it continued to fall out. She had never missed her wigs more than she did now. Marina smacked her lips together as she slowly opened her eyes. Dull steely blue locked onto his pale brown ones. He seemed to be listening to whatever was going on in the kitchen, but her mind was far too distracted to strain to listen. Her body ached and she remembered how desperately she needed to get taken care of. "I need... I need... the Peneci... Peneci..." She fumbled, trying to bring the word to her lips. It seemed to keep escaping her as her mind further fogged over. "That injecty anty-bee-oticzz..." She giggled at how silly she sounded. "Vicky-don... or moooorrr~~pheeen would be nice toooooo..." Marina blinked once and tried to focus on the face above her. Another giggle sounded as she let go of Harley's hand and reached down to her waist and began to lift her shirt up. "I hafta clean muh zorzzz... Oh... I sound silly..." She giggled again before engaging in another coughing fit. Marina turned her head to the side as blood splurted out onto the edge of the couch.

It just when he though the tears could no longer flow that it suddenly began fall. Just hearing her words about his hair and seeing the tears fall from her eyes caused his own eye to water "I'll recolor my hair pink...I'll grow it as long as you want it to so please don't die...You cant die...your the strongest person I know Marina...everybody precious is dying before me...please don't die...don't leave me...please Mari" Casey said softly closing his eye tightly. It hurt him severely, the pain was great and he didn't know what he would do if Marina left his life. She was never just some fortune teller to him, she was his best friend.

The presence of Harley caught him off guard and made him remember that there were others in the manor. He listened to the words of Harley and merely allowed the older teen to do as he wished with Marina. Just what could he do really? he was a useless fool who couldn't help anybody in the end. Even this manor that may have seemed to have been a safe haven could not guarantee anything. The water from his eye was gone and Casey silently stared back at Marina and listened to her words once again. "You...want...to die?" Casey said silently closing his eye once more. He couldn't kill her, he couldn't kill the girl he found precious. The girl that was one of the strongest people he knew...was giving up. Just what hope did he have left if the one person he believed in was giving up.

This was one of those moments she was really glad her mother used to be Mormon.

The room was filled with supplies for food, first aid, protection. Everything was readily available, it was almost a blessing in her mind.

Jessie was just wishing she could appreciate it more.

On a pile of blankets and empty potato sacks layed her father with a puncture wound in the neck and a horrific fever. Her mother had not been heard from, but her mother had gone to Coy City the day the bombs were dropped. Although she kept her in her prayers, Jessie had a feeling in her heart her mother was no longer amongst the living.

One butler and a maids had made it down with her in time while everything was ricocheting, and she figured she would have heard from the others by now if they were still alive. The fact she decided to head home the day the bombs dropped was a lesser of two evils, the Edwards Castle (As she loves to call it) lies relatively near the southern border of Brookridge so of course she expected damage like they had received. Thank god her family was rich, and her mother a religiously unsure individual.

Despite being safe somewhat, Jessie was feeling her agoraphobia kick in and her father was not well and needed help neither she nor the two servants could provide. However, communication with the outside world was clearly becoming an issue.

Jessie fiddled around with the oldest radio they had, but she had gotten to the point she could not receive anything at all. Jessie closed her eyes and heard the familiar cough of her father. Jessie grabbed a cane she had nearby and walked over to him. Her leg was getting better, because it was not broken, but her father's condition was clearly going the opposite.

"Son, can you get me water..."
Jessie felt her head twitch and she closed her eyes, "No, however your daughter can."
"Jessie, you could be a walking talking pile of dog feces and it wouldn't matter, I need water and your gender is the last of my concerns at the moment."
"I am having doubts I will ever leave here."

    "Dad! Do not say that."
She grabbed another bottle of water and washed the blood around the wound on his neck

"If I were you at this moment, I would be more terrified that these bombs are partially because of you."
"I have told you, I had no part in whatever the hell this woman is accusing me of, if accusing me at all. I have been having all sorts of weird things happen ever since I got that email."
"You never detailed me about that odd spam email."
"I have no need to, it does not concern you nor does it concern me."
    "...very well Miss."

Jessie sighed as she knocked into an old machine, which when she realized what it was she got herself laughing.

"Hey, do you think anyone has a morse code transmitter?"

Jessie set it up and pressed a message out, mainly as a joke but in case there was a slim chance someone actually received it.

"I'll recolor my hair pink...I'll grow it as long as you want it to so please don't die...You cant die...your the strongest person I know Marina...everybody precious is dying before me...please don't die...don't leave me...please Mari." Casey's pleading voice snapped her back to attention. She lifted her head up and her blue eyes drifted until she found his sweet sad face. "You...want...to die?" Her heart felt as if it was breaking. Just looking into his sad eyes--eye--made something maternal flutter within her.

Marina lifted her skeletal hands and reached out to touch his face. "Oh, Casey baby, it is not like that. Sweetie, it is not that I want to die, but that I am dying. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey," she brushed her cracked and chipped nails lightly against his cheek. "Casey, it will be okay. I might be okay, but I need Theodore." Her eyes flashed to Harley, a bit of guilt seemed to seep into her gust and she just shrugged it off. There was nothing to be guilty for. "I need to ask him something. Elliot... Elliot might know... but I would rather hear it from Theodore." Her thin cold finger grazed his cheekbone as she wiped away a tear. "Please do not shed any more tears. I will stay as long as I can. I promise."

She dropped her hand from his face and made a crossing motion over her heart. Marina always kept her word, and Casey would know that by now. It was something she had told him a very long time ago. Her expression was weary and her eyes grew soft with concern. She glanced between the two boys and smiled knowingly at them.

    xxxxx"Marigold."
    There was no reply.
    "Marigold?"

The bartender turned to look at the back seat. The small girl was curled up by the side, sleeping in a ball, her thick red cape around her and her hood covering much of her face with a dark shadow. She let out gentle, solemn breaths, and seemed to be immersed in a world of dreams. It would almost be cute, if not for the fact that the bartender was looking at a vicious imp right now.
    He sighed.

    "We're here, I guess.
Uh, yeah, I'll just'a be leavin' you soon, then. Minute you wake up.
    Minute you wake up ..."

As she slept, he continued driving along the dark road.

    I am scared...

Jessie walked away from the transmitter and started working on the radios again, hoping one would somehow get a signal. Instead she found herself passing out of the desk with tools in her hand. She told herself it would only be a nap, but instead fell into a deep sleep filled with nightmares about her father dying and people chasing after her, all out to kill her for reasons she did not even know.

xxxxxTo be honest, it wasn't very much of a busy day, was it?
How long had it been since he tried eating some good food? That's what most of the day was. Good food and exploration of the manor. Some people hadn't even woken up today. And it didn't help that much of the time was spent getting on and on about how in the world they'd find a right-set way to rescue the others. Cherno wanted to. He really did. But as he sat on his bed tonight, alone, listening to the droning radio, his concern would tug at his heart.

"... Four more dead from radiation poisoning, much of Brookridge city centre and downtown Coy City in rubble, hospitals full ..."

He sighed and clasped his forehead in a bony white hand.
Things were getting worse and worse. Riots and hunts. More and more people killing each other. How could Cherno expect to live among a world cast in the light of the dead like this?
And no, here he was, safe in his Eden with the others off on the silent manor by the moor, where nothing could harm him and nothing could get him and he fucking hated it. He was half-right tempted up there to go off himself, to go get them. But what the hell could he do?
Cherno fell back to his bed.
He heard a loud ... what was that? A loud cough from downstairs? Was someone sick?
It couldn't be the radiation poisoning, could it?

He took out the metal sphere from his pocket.
This thing could still work, could it? He just needed a chance to tell the others. And, of course, if they'd believe a crazy nut like him.
Cherno lay on the bed as he dropped the sphere back into his pocket, arms outstretched, slowly closing his eyes.

There was another bloody cough from below.
He felt his eye, behind his eyepatch, tingle slightly. Something was stinging him.
    A--ah ...

"... Explosions in the centre of the city have left Bellhurst and Sealand in shreds, national guard called in to look further ..."

But with a snap, he went off to sleep.

After everyone had finished eating and seemed to disperse from the kitchen, Bernadette proceeded to clean things up and double check the supplies. She wasn't really sure what she could do to help anyone, but made any and every little step possible to do what was needed. Vanille had said something about a cabin or something?--she couldn't fully understand, but had agreed regardless. When the kitchen was done, she hunched forward, breathing heavily. Bernie gripped her knees and panted. She was becoming short of breath. They had already spent too long above the surface. They would all be dead in a short amount of time if they stayed up here much longer. Hopefully Vanille had some sort of underground bunker or something at this cabin. That would be cool. It would be like a spy movie, but without a happy ending.

It was hard to keep up the cheerful innocent act, but Bernie figured they needed at least one ray of light. Everyone was depressed all of the time. They were all so serious. She knew she should be too, and under the surface she was, but wanted to spread some small form of cheer. It was how her parents had raised her, even if they didn't actually raise her and she would probably never see them again. The sad ache of homesickness tugged at her heart once more. Bernadette sighed before saying goodnight to everyone nearby and snaking a blanket and pillow. At this moment, she really just wanted to be alone. The ignorant act would only protect her for so long. How long--was the question. She curled up in a lonely corner of the house and stared out the window. They needed to take turns keeping watch. Her eyes were locked on the outside world until she could no longer keep them open and drifted off to sleep.

The mere weak touch that reached Casey's cheek immediately calmed the teen. As he listened to her words Casey closed his eye and held the hand of Marina gently as she rubbed his cheek. "Alright....I'll stop crying and be a strong like you Mari. After all I cant just sit around an simply cry like a baby" Casey said softly with a smile. He knew Marina for quite the long time and all the many things she told him he believed. Her promises were absolute to him, he knew she was strong and he knew she would do all she could.

Theodore or Elliot...those two were the ones that had the best chance to help Marina. He didn't know were they were or even if they were dead or alive, but he needed to do something to at least bring back one of them to Marina in order to help her. It was the only thing he was able to do at this point in time and for now he would have to at least smile for Marina's sake. "now come now, I'll have Wallace tend to you...just relax and sleep Mari, you still have to tell me some fortunes after all" Casey said with a smile.

Cherno seemed to have disappeared and that gave her plenty of time to reflect. Mostly, she thought about Madeline and how she wanted to rip the blond bitch's throat out. Temperance shook the thought away. She didn't want to turn into a monster. The idea of becoming someone similar to Elizabeth sickened her. However, there was a surge of adrenaline that had coursed through her veins as she plunged that knife over and over. It had invigorated her and gave a form of power. That was enticing.

After what seemed like forever, she finally decided to make her way back up to the room. When Temperance walked into the room, he was already asleep on the bed. She sat down on the foot of the bed and watched him. He was so infuriating. Temperance gripped the edge of the bed and tossed her head back--what she wouldn't give for a shower. Hm... a shower. Her eyes drifted to the sleeping figure beside her and her face flushed. Cherno was so innocent. Sure, he swore a lot in that weird language of his, but that was about it. It made her feel sick. He knew the truth, well, most of it. He was the only one that knew. Temperance rested a hand lightly on his ankle. He said it didn't matter. She still found that impossible to believe. He was too good.

She lifted the blankets that had been on her earlier off of the floor and curled up at the foot of the bed. The chair was lumpy and uncomfortable, but she thought that outright crawling into bed with him would cause some sort of issues. Instead, Temperance was on the outside, by his feet, curled into a ball as she drifted off to sleep.
