Olivia fell asleep Miss Spike's lap.

They were going to visit Casey's manor, then.
Cherno looked out at the horizon of the night sky.

    ...

    Where was Theodore?

He walked towards Harley and asked.
    "What happened to Theodore's truck?"

And then there was an answer later in the night but eventually Cherno got in the vehicle and was led to sleep in Casey's manor like everyone else. He then entered his designated room and fell asleep.

But he kept tossing and turning, wondering what in the world happened with the last truck.
He thought about waking up in the morning and wondering if they could go get a search party out. No man left behind.

    Cherno had promises to keep.

" Hopefully they got out alright, " Harley replied, slightly doubtful. He looked back a Kallisti who seemed to be quivering in her seat. Probably over Madeline; he rolled his eyes. He honestly didn't know what she saw in that skeleton chick anyway. Her face was pretty, sure, but not the rest of her, " We can't go back, " he told her and she glared at him.

    " Time to sleep. "

For some reason, Harley felt like they were going to be sleeping for a long time. About a week, to be exact.

One week. Somehow, they all feel asleep.

    Woo.

marina climbed inside the truck and nodded off on the drive. it was the first time she had slept in days and it was barely even that. when they arrived at the manor, she received some assistance to get inside. wallace directed her to a bed. she was too sick and unstable to be able to sleep on the floor or a chair. as soon as she was lying down and her bandages were changed, she was out immediately.

temperance remained inside the car, not wanting to get out and see cherno, but was still glad to know that he was okay. when they arrived at some fancy pants manor 'cause all these brookridge kids are ridiculously wealthy and shit that she could care less, she somehow managed to storm off inside. she was still sick and couldn't face anyone any further, especially not him. she looked for a place to sleep and curled up awkwardly in a chair.

bernie was wired. her nerves were on all ends. when they arrived at their final destination for the night, she helped get people situated before finding a comfortable place on the floor and covering up with one of the blankets from the duffel bags.

heidi had on the gas mask and the suit, she was uncomfortable, but alive. that was more then she could presumably say about theo. she never saw him come out of the rubble. did he just die protecting them? heidi knew absolutely nothing about him, but tears streaked her face regardless. she was too exhausted to go any further and it would appear as if madeline was in the same frame of mind. the blond had curled up in a ball where they remained and heidi did the same a few feet away, sleep taking over her immediately.

He was safe, hurt, but safe. And yet the tunnel had caved in and there was no way the truck or even a person could climb out of that rubble. Did Theodore... It could be possible he lived, the truck's roof shielding him from the falling stone. Or that the front of the truck was away from where most of it landed. No way could he dig that out by himself and yet the boy found himself at the rocks, pushing some away. No real effort was put into it though as he was tired and hopeless.

"T-the others... To the school?" No. They wouldn't wait for them. No way. Humans could not be trusted to do such a kind thing. Not with all these dangers around. Perhaps they could just make camp around here somewhere and make plans for the day. First, though, he handed Heidi and Madeline some pain killers in case they were hurting as much as he was. He promised to see if they needed medical attention later, but for now all he wished to do was rest. He wasn't the only one, either, for the girl was out quickly.

Following her lead he took a spot right there after fixing his suit, having not put it on properly in the rush. Moments later he was out.

Laurence began to yell out praise as he got into the manor but soon passed out the moment he was allowed to rest

Casey sighed making sure each and everyone of them had what they needed for the night. When he found everybody asleep he soon too fell asleep, still worrying about Heidi

Just how long will this manor last until it burns to the ground?

Pain, how long ago was it that the teen accepted it and managed to endure it? how long till it would fade and how long till his mind would snap from it? A warm aroma reached his nose and soon enough Casey Heckles' eyes fluttered opened. Sitting up Casey glanced around the area. Since there wasn't the greatest amount of space for people to sleep on, Casey chose to sleep on the ground and forfeit any comfort to others. The others were guests and he would be sure to treat them well.

As he rose to his feet he walked over towards wherever the aroma was and smiled as he noticed warm food was being set out by Wallace. The food wasn't much, so they had to make due with what they had and made sure to savour what they had. "Good morning Wallace, let me help you out with that" Casey said with a small smile as he proceeded to help out the old man

"No need, young sir I've got this" Wallace said.

"Don't be ridiculous, you've been working so hard for the others, its only fair you get some help" Casey said with a smile as he began to help out around with the food "Say Wallace...where did we get all this food? surely supplies are a bit hard to come by?" Casey asked

"Jackson has been scouting around for supplies...he'll be around shortly with some more medical items" Wallace said calmly as breakfast was set out.

Bronagh had gone to climb back up through the trap door when she felt her leg officially give way. The door had slammed above her and her eyes widened as she reached up and forced herself up, she kept collapsing instead. Bronagh felt this familiar surge of helplessness from the broken leg, and she felt tears in her eyes as she cried out,
    "Help! Somebody help me!"
Bronagh eventually stopped screaming, her voice cracked from lack of water until the point her throat was too dry to even speak. She felt the tears stream down her face and dropped her arms from reaching the trap door. It was hopeless in her mind... that's what she deserved she guessed. Bronagh closed her eyes reflecting on how she could have gotten herself out of there, what would be the best way out?
She felt her shoulder, and remembered pulling out the rock. It was instinctive, and it was stupid of her. She felt lightheaded the loss of blood but kept shaking it off. She was going to get out of there even if it killed her. Bronagh used all her strength and grabbed the latch of the trap door, she smiled as she pushed it open. She struggled to maintain a grip on the stage. She felt her arms slip as she grabbed onto something on the outside.
She felt her wrist losing strength, and closed her eyes and she kept telling herself. I will get out of here, nothing will stop me... nothing... As she moved her arm she felt the heavy object her hand was now trusting with everything slip away from her fingers. Bronagh felt herself drop, and although she kept her leg from hitting the ground and taking all the pain and weight of her body, she instead fell on her head and watched the latch close as her consciousness faded.
Hey Dad, I know you really were not real... but to me, you were. What you said when I was younger, about how you wanted to stop existing because you felt you lived your life the best you could have, and your mistakes made you who you were?
Let me stop existing with you,
    Please....

Heidi rubbed the dirt away from her eyes as she continued to claw at the rocks in front of her. The first thing she did after waking up was crawl to the crumbled wall of caved in rocks and started pulling them away. She didn't know Theo really at all, but he saved their lives. He had to be okay on the other side. He just had to. Nobody could die. Really deary? It's about time you quit acting like this. Time to move on. Nobody is coming back. I still have that pill bottle in my pocket. Oooooooooo scaaaaaryyyyy~~~ They mocked. Heidi bit her lip as she clawed away at a few more large rocks. They tumbled down the wall and a smaller one hit her foot. She winced and brushed some more dust away from her face. The underside of her fingernails were black with dirt and her arms began to tremble as Heidi did her best to rip some of the heavier rocks away from the wall.

Bernadette pulled the blanket down her body and curled up against a wall. Yesterday had been so tiresome. Everything seemed to happen in a flash. One minute they were exploring the tunnels of Antilum, next they were avoiding lasers or some such in the trucks, flying through the streets of Brookridge until they reached BAE, and then finally pulling up to Casey Heckle's manor. Her long blond hair was in a tangled mess around her shoulders. She pulled the hair binder off her thin pale wrist and pulled the locks back into a very messy low bun. Bernie used the wall to pull herself upright and stood shakily. It was hard to breath on the surface, but she was glad to be out of those bleak dark caves.
She wandered around until finally coming across the kitchen, maybe people would be more accepting of her if she showed the usefulness she could provide for them. Cooking was always a good start. They wouldn't be able to stick here long. They would all end up sick if they spent much longer exposed to the radiation that was all across Brookridge and Coy City. The other neighboring cities and probably the whole state were most likely in a similar form of distress. If any of them wanted to survive, they would need to get out of the state. Ich habe definitiv nicht erwarten, meine Zeit touring Amerika so gehen. She smiled at the two figures already present and moved closer to the new looking Casey. "Need halp?"

Temperance readjusted in her spot on the chair. The blanket slid down and she pulled it back up to her shoulders. She was still shivering and her eyes were now bloodshot. The fever had broken the day before, she didn't feel much better. It was nice to not be sweating through her clothes like some gross freak and be super hot, but it still wasn't comfortable. I'm done playing this game. I'm done playing this game. What were those little rules again? I'm done playing. Her bloodshot green eyes darted across the room until she found Cherno's sleeping figure. Temperance sighed before burying her face in the back of the recliner. She stifled a cough under the blanket and sighed deeply. We've gotta promise that we won't let our ... feelings ... personal feelings get in the way of our survival. She rolled her eyes.

Marina had not managed to pull herself out of bed yet. Her body was depleted of all energy. She rolled the vial around in between her bony fingers. She felt bad about not giving Harley every last vial yesterday, but she had been rather curious as to what this thing did. If it was as helpful as Elliot had said, then maybe--no, she shook her head. She needed to find out from Theodore what it would do to someone else. Marina squeezed it tightly in her left hand. A rag covered in small blood splatters rested beside her face. She closed her eyes and inhaled before a new round of blood coughing began. I should just drink it. I need to get stronger if I want to last much longer. However, she did not want to make things any more difficult for Theodore in doing so. I wonder if they made it here last night. She opened her dull blue eyes and stared blankly at the door across the room. She needed to get up, but she could barely make her legs work. I am not ready to end things quite yet. I was lucky to fulfill everything I hoped to accomplish yesterday. That was a miracle. Marina rolled off of her side so she was flat on her back and stared up at the ceiling, the bottle hovering awfully close to her face as she further inspected the liquid.

Vanille spend the better part of the night staying up and watching over the rest of their shrunken group. Of course she knew it was the most perfect time to get a good night's rest, but she was really too alert for it! Well, at least she'd been able to get a few good hours of rest, even if all of it wasn't sleep.

To keep her hands and focus busy, she had decided to create a mask out of a thin piece of scrap steel alloy that had been in the back of one of the . . . the two supplies trucks. They were really lucky to have all of that stuff, but . . . but . . .

Theodore Weldon's truck hadn't made it.

A sniff sounded at the thought.

An hour or so later, dawn had cracked and the group was slowly but surely stirring awake. Some of them wouldn't be up for hours more, but Casey seemed to be up and about, making sure they were all well taken care of. As well as they could be. In this . . . situation. She sniffed again, and then looked at her finished product of a mask.

It was a bit of a sorry excuse for one, but she was slightly proud of it and herself for being so resourceful in this situation. After inspecting the edges of the hand-crafted mask and making sure her face wouldn't be cut on any of the edges, she slipped it on and sighed, the cool steel pressing against her face. After asking one of the servants, sleeveless white under armor had been provided for her, the neckline reaching just up to below her chin. At least her clothes didn't restrict her movement, and that was all she could ask for!

What to do now . . . They definitely wouldn't be able to stay here forever; sooner or later, they'd be found out and the servants would be killed for helping them. She began to think of possible locations from Coy City to Spokesand, on the other side of the state. They could even go North, out of the country to Frankhover . . . Or to the state south of them . . . There were hideouts all over the state and country that she knew of, but there was a pretty good chance that more than half of them were destroyed!

Mom would know what to do, for sure . . . She sniffed again. Was mom even okay? What did it matter . . . None of them really existed anyway. She patted her own shoulder after thinking that - it was just no way to think! They would definitely need a backup plan for when they left here. Would they split up. No, no, no, that was not a good idea! She would have to find mom.

It was good to have an after plan. She mentally routed the way to the hidden estate in the mountain forest. If it wasn't destroyed, they could go there for a while . . .

On another side of the room, she heard rustling, and she looked up. The light reflected off of dull blonde hair. Oh, it was Bernie; she was awake. ❝Good morning, Bernie! she said in a half-whisper, taking a seat next to the girl, How'd you sleep, you alright?

Madeline's tired, green eyes watched the young brunette pry hopelessly at the heavy mountain of rocks. She had been awake for nearly an hour now, and watching the girl took her mind off of things. Namely her hunger and her frustration at being left being. The night was cold and she quite honestly hadn't been expecting to wake up at all. Her heart hurt and her mind reeled. A cold, empty sadness pulsed over and over in the center of her chest. Why was she still alive? Where was Quin? Where was Thomas? ...Had Theodore survived?

Almost desperately now, she wanted the game to be over. She did not care if she died, she just wanted everything to be done with. When she really thought about it, her life hadn't ever really been worth living. It was a bitter, broken life packed to the brim with memories she wanted to leave far behind her. But they were the type of memories that didn't go away, no matter how much time passed. They would not leave her, she figured, until she died.

Somehow...Despite that, she wasn't feeling particularly motivated enough to end anything herself. Suicide seemed like a mistake. One reminder that it was a big 'no' on Crestatia's list was enough to turn her off. That and...a quiet, tender part of her still thought that things would improve. It was the same tenderness that rose to the surface like the tide of an ocean when things with Quin started going well, and it was the same hope that filled her when she had learned of Thomas' arrival to their meeting spot.

Guilt. It took a while, but at least it came. Madeline bit her bottom lip as the guilt slipped into and overwhelmed that emptiness of before. The paranoia in the tunnels... she had completely avoided Quin, attempted to use Thomas, and became a complete coward. Maybe it was sabotage. Honestly, she didn't believe she deserved to feel the happiness those two brought her. A 'trust no one' mentality was a hell of a lot easier than waiting quietly for one of them to die, or betray her.

After a few more moments of watching, Madeline stood. The suit felt heavy on her frail body, but it was protecting her--hopefully. She trudged forward until she reached the pile of stone, reaching out and placing a hand on the girl's shoulder.

"Hey, um. Don't hurt yourself, okay?" Truthfully, she had wanted to say something much harshly like 'he's dead let it go' or some such, but that didn't feel right. Not yet. "Assuming he's alright, he probably escaped the initial collapse. Moving the rocks away won't save him...Well, I mean, it won't make a difference."

A bit awkward, but she tried.

Whatever had kept him going died the moment they were outside. Sleep took over. Though despite his body's need for it, it did not last long. There were far too many things on his mind. Was Theodore really dead? And what of this code?

He wanted to know who were the three that chased them. They were the reason for this cave-in after all. And if the code would help with that then he would solve it. That what he thought an hour ago, and with high hopes, had worked on it. But once finished it didn't seem to make much sense. And with a defeated groan his body gave out once more.

The next time he awoke it was to the sound of rocks being moved and dirt falling. After some shifting the brunette came into view and he watched her through half opened eyes. It made him happy, that someone else would try to save his friend. Especially after he's been particularly useless in the matter. But when the blonde came up and spoke he knew what she said was true. It was hopeless to try so they moving them all.

"He knows the place better than us. H-he would find another way out," he said upon standing. "We could look around the lab...if it's s-safe. For him. Y-you can get supplies as well. After looking...if he's dead... We move on."

He almost went on to saying he was performing a summoning to bring him back if that were the case, but it was too early for that. What if Theodore was alive? Then there would be no need for it and he would feel foolish for even thinking of it.

Duncan sat beside his mother and father, huddled together beneath their three storied home and fumed silently. He really disliked hanging out with them, even if it was kind of saving his life. This place was the safer then traveling the streets. This underground basement was well structured and protected so the house wouldn't cave in on top of them. The bright fluorescent light was being powered by the efficient but tiny black and red, hi tech generator. He had to let out a little sigh, the T.V. constantly stayed on the News. He was glad they were so fast, being alerted was a good thing. His dad double and triple checked the doors when they saw his name scroll up with a few of his classmates and a bit more of people he didn't know. His ex best friend wasn't there, so he silently cursed his luck. He didn't want an angry mob to tear him away from his parents, but that ******* being torn from his? Hahahaha. It'd be something Duncan would have paid to see.

He got up and traveled over to the full sized fridge and pulled a can of some kind of cheap but long lasting 'Coke' from the numerous sodas inside it. The staff was sent home, so he had to do everything himself, along with his mother. His father had only one camera set up, and that was at the door. Lucky for them, no one had come up to the steel doors that led to their little haven. And he prayed nothing would ever make them leave. He paused as he opened up the text box for his tumblr app. What if one of his fellow BAE mates were watching their every tumblr move despite their not being any connectivity, waiting for the chance to rat them out to this bag woman! He frowned, he was much too careful, he'd have to not give a thing away, until he could at least text one of the other people who's named scrolled up on the list. In the end, his message was simple and to the point. Hopefully power to the towers would be restored and his message would go through.

    +++
Thomas opened his baby blues slowly, wincing at the light the hit through the window of the Heckles manor. He grunted and rolled onto his side, his glasses sliding down slightly muscles a little sore, mostly around the upper arms. Where was he? Why was he not home... And he never went to bed with his glasses on, they could break, and money was not rolling in droves at the Adams home. He sat up abruptly and looked about wildy. Maddy!? He pulled his blanket off of him as the events of the past few days began to flood back into him. Fire. Ground shaking. Missiles whistling. Darkness. Underground. Trucks. Madeline's plan. Driving. Dozing off. Dragging an unconscious John. Trucks revving, and tires screeching. Not seeing strawberry blond hair and not having time to look as with one leap he was in the back of a truck. Spirited away and blacking out as soon as his body felt a bed beneath it. Not having his camera throughout the whole thing, it made him nearly wince as he put his shoes back on. God he felt so empty without it, camera fix later, Maddy now. He stood up, she had to be here, right? His feet echoed quietly along the well kept tiles of the articulately made halls. He knocked and called her name outside a multitude of doors before panic was threatening his sanity and he pulled out his phone, messaging his mother to ensure her that he was indeed safe and well. His fingers then moved about his phone until sent one to Madeline, asking her which room she had to be in. It was a small comfort, though the automated reply told him that his messages didn't send through at all, and would be sent when a connection was found. After all, she must have been so resourceful, more then enough to stay away and get the hell out of there before he even dragged himself awake to hop on the back of one of the revved up trucks.
    +++
John paced and prowled around the room, he was actually relieved for once. He was alive and well, and as long as he was a live, there was the chance he could tell his mother something important, some how, some way he would say goodbye if he had to leave this game again, not that he planned to though. That cave in was too, too close to a second death. The last time he didn't get to, and it ate at him till just a few moments ago. He pressed his fiery red rosary to his forehead in a small mantra, the words too low to hear. He sat on one of Casey's many beds, his eyes swerving over things in the room, things he would have manipulate and bully to get on a nice day. The Heckles boy was either very lucky or very rich, John couldn't tell. He was getting antsy again, he needed to move, they needed to move. The first things the crazies in the states would do is track down and search every home that the boys and girls so graciously placed to be targeted would be found. John rubbed his chin, unless this Heckles boy had this home as some kind of secret Brookridge home, with another home somewhere else. No no, that's thinking too deep. His fingers idly shifted the beads around on his opposite arm. They needed another meeting, and they needed another plan, fast. He felt bad about the people who weren't there, but what was he going to do? Travel through poisonous gas and God knows what else just to pick them up?
He straightened his hair and left the room, he would have to thank Tommy boy for saving his life in the tunnels now. The sooner to get the guilt he felt out of his heart.

"Hey, um. Don't hurt yourself, okay?" Heidi jumped at the sudden hand on her shoulder. She hadn't heard the blond girl, Madeline, walk approach her over the sounds of rocks falling. "Assuming he's alright, he probably escaped the initial collapse. Moving the rocks away won't save him...Well, I mean, it won't make a difference." Slowly, Heidi turned her head in the direction of the girl in the suit. Her eyes were dark and vacant.

"He knows the place better than us. H-he would find another way out," Elliot said upon standing. "We could look around the lab...if it's s-safe. For him. Y-you can get supplies as well. After looking...if he's dead... We move on."

Her eyes shifted to the male figure nearby. Heidi wondered if he had gotten any further on the code before turning her attention back to Madeline, or more correctly, the shadowy figures standing behind her. She rubbed her lips together as she watched one of them pick up a rock and motion for Heidi to bludgeon the strawberry blond with it, while the other pointed for her to do the same with Elliot. Heidi shook her head, chocolate eyes still locked onto them. They hadn't materialized in a very long time. She wasn't really sure how to feel now, but she stepped away from the rocky wall and lifted the suit up from her hips until it was back on her properly. She zipped it up and pulled the mask over her face. They continued to make motions for her to do something about the other two in the party and she shook her head slowly, eyes locked onto the shadowy figures standing directly behind Madeline's shoulders.

She swallowed and forced her attention back to Madeline. "S-so then now what?" Heidi drifted her gaze between the blond and the dark-haired boy, her eyes shifting back and forth. She didn't want to give up, but if they were so certain that he was probably fine, then looking in a different manner and getting out of here were their next most important things to do.

Honestly, that sounded pretty dangerous. The top of Antilum seemed pretty stable through the tremors and explosions, but there was no way for them to really assess the damage that the collapsed tunnels had brought on the foundation...Still, Madeline could sympathize. During Theodore's...illness, Elliot had remained by his side, however uselessly. Maybe they were lovers. Truthfully, she doubted it, but it would have been kind of cute. Very clear who the bottom would have been.

    "S-so then now what?"

The girl was giving off a strange vibe but Madeline ignored it. She did not seem very stable at all. It was a slightly worrisome thing, but she was tiny and meek. Between her own crazy and Elliot, the small brunette wouldn't get very far if she tried anything.

"I'm not sure about entering the labs again. Surely if Theodore is well he will find a way out. Supplies would be lovely, though... Still, it shouldn't take that long to get to where the other's are? Assuming they give a shit, they may even come back for us."

That would be nice if they came back, but would the others even think that they were still there? Plus, they had no clue where the others went, or at least, she had no clue. "Where did they go?" she asked curiously. She glanced back and forth between the two of them before moving further away from the wall. She really didn't want to give up on trying to break through the rock barrier, but if Madeline and Elliot were even agreeing with them, then there was no point in continuing. Please be okay, she willed their savior. Oh come off it deary. She narrowed her eyes at them. They were enjoying being in almost-full form.

He stared at the wall. It really had to be unstable inside and them shifting through it could make the floor give in. That would only make things worse for Theodore, wouldn't it? And if they stayed here they will most likely die... If Theodore was alive he would hopefully understand their need to leave. So he soon muttered an 'alright' and picked up the bag he had managed to save.

"They could have gone to the school." Why do they matter anyway? They left them behind. Still, the school could have useful things and underground places so it was at least a suggestion. One the other two could ignore if they wanted but it was where he'd go if they had no other ideas.

xxxxxWhen Cherno woke, the bright daylight outside seemed to be a damn-straight mocked-up contrast with the rain. It was the type of weather one got when the weather wanted to mock them. Bright clear skies with dirty drizzles.

He lifted himself out of the warm blankets, pushing a few soft pillows to the floor. This place really was something, and he couldn't get out of his head how such an elegant place seemed to exist out here in the boondocks. He didn't remember how far this moorland was, but it seemed so isolated from everything else ...

    Cherno yawned.

To be honest, he could barely get a lick of sleep last night. Had the final truck come here yet? Why the fuck was he getting so worried jive-jumpin' about this? He wondered if the others knew anything.Right, that's right. He could ask the others.

Cherno rolled off the bed and--
    FUCK.
He smashed to the floor, taking a few pillows and part of the blanket with him. One of his legs dangled precariously atop the mattress as his chin rested heavily upon the dusty mahogany wood. Cherno looked up and saw Temperance dozing off on a chair.

    Wait.
How long had she been there?

Shit. Was she sleeping out there on the chair cold-like? No- no.
    No, Cherno, bad. Stop worrying.
He picked himself up and dusted off the ends of his pajama pants. Grey pajamas. Okay. Nice choice for the one who didn't see colour well, Casey. Hahaha.

    Haha ...
Cherno walked over to the window and looked out at the light. He could see parts of the enormous Heckles household jutting off in all directions, and beyond them, the horizons of the marshy grey moor.
    He gulped.
He wanted to put all of the worry, all of the anxiety, at the back of his head. But this luxury didn't change the fact that there was literally a crazed ****ed-up war happening right by their doorstep. How many people had died in their pursuit for them? How many lives had perished from all of the bombing?

And they couldn't escape forever, could they? ...
Haha ... hahaha ... n-no. Cherno, stop thinking like that ...
He gently pat the side of his head and turned back to Temperance. She seemed relaxed enough, dozing off.
Well, sort of. Cherno picked up the blanket he dropped to the floor, and gently moved over towards the dozing Temperance, draping it over her shoulders.

He moved towards the door, but before exiting, he turned back and point his index finger silently at the sleeping girl. Swiftly, he opened it and cast off outside like a ghost.

    ///

It didn't take him long for the smell of grease to get him to the kitchen. Sure, this place was a maze, okay, lots of things were mazes right. But this was a damn confusing maze of a palace of a crazed-up hell-stankin' mansion. Like, seriously. Even the fact that the moor seemed to tug on his memory-strings didn't do much. But right.
When he got to the kitchen, there was already a congregation of folk lingering among the oily scent.

German exchange student, Vanilla Ice, his old roommate ...
    Uh ...
    No, they weren't here either.

    ... Huh.

Cherno cleared his throat with a gruff sound. "Yo."
"Do we know if Theodore's little ditty returned yet? It's been a grand-stonkering night, hasn't it?"

Compared to usual, his voice seemed tinged and lined with threads of anxiety. He looked to the stove, and the items on the counter.

"... You aren't just making meat dishes, are you?" Cherno's tone became biting and bitter.
The smell of bacon grease always made him sick, but he didn't remember why.

Something warm and heaving broke her daze. A second blanket rested on top of her as the sound of footsteps left the room. Temperance readjusted in the seat until she was finally facing forward and able to look around the room properly. Cherno had left and given her his blanket while doing so. Her bloodshot green eyes narrowed as she surveyed the room. The bed remained empty and she was half tempted to crawl into it. She ripped the blankets off of her shivering body and willed herself to stand. From what she learned last night, one of the trucks filled never made it.

She made her way out of the room and down the stairs. The living room was scattered with a few still sleeping figures and a familiar strawberry-blond was apparently absent. That really irked her. Temperance pursed her pale lips and cleared her hoarse throat. The bitchy blond bimbo deserved a good beating for the shit she had pulled and she had most definitely not forgotten about it. Temperance had spent her last few very sick days thinking about how good it would be to knock the shit out of Madeline a second time.

However, that was pretty damn impossible if she was not here. Part of her just wished the bitch was dead already, but that took all the fun out of it. Slamming her fists into Madeline's face and stabbing that sharp blade into her father's stomach was exhilarating. No... No stop that. A sinister smirk crossed her lips. As much as she didn't want to feel this way, Temperance couldn't help but admit to herself that it was fun--better than fun, incredible. She needed to find Madeline so she could beat the snot out of her.

She followed the sound of voices into the kitchen, just as Cherno finished is ridiculous Cherno-babble-talk. He was so incredibly hard to understand at times, but she go the gist of it. Temperance stopped beside him as he complained about the meat that Blondie was happily cooking on the stove by the weird mask girl. "I'd like to know what happened to the others as well," she perked up between shivers. It would have been a good idea to bring one of those blankets down with her. "Afraid of a little meat?" She raised an eyebrow and stared up at him in mock horror.
