Laurence nearly squealed like a little girl. It was finally his time to be helpful and to be help by a brother was another excellent point. Immediatly the two headed up towards the girl and immediately helped her out.

A small smile crept across his face when Marina addressed him, but given the situation he couldn't just run up and hug her like he used to do. They needed to get out and fast. With Marina in tow and the others with him they began their trek forward. At this pace things they would never be able to reach to their destination, but suddenly somebody all too familiar show up

"Young sir! I see your successful!" Wallace said running up to them.

"Yes we need to get out of here now" Casey said urgently.

"Right follow me!" Wallace said. Walking with all those officers walking around would be suicide. If they were to travel it would be by the way they got here in the first place. Immediatlely Wallace led them to the car and immediately got them in "Where to young sir" Wallace asked.

"Heliocanthea Garden! FAST" Casey yelled as Wallace nodded and sped off to their destination.

 

Heidi listened to Elliot's response. Theodore or his father--did his father's name start with a T? It must have. She let him take it to inspect it further. He wrote down a copy of the code. That was probably a good decision. It would be best if they had more than one copy of it. She wasn't the greatest at keeping track of things, aside from the sapphire pendent around her neck, and that's only because she refused to take it off. When she had received it, it felt as if she didn't wear it every day; even though it never left its rightful spot. Her eyes narrowed at the sight of Theo coming back. Good they could leave and she could show him, but she was hesitant, as always.

Marina appreciated the help that Laurence and Casey provided. When they arrived outside, a man named Wallace greeted them. He led the bunch to a car for them all to climb in. With assistance, she slid into the backseat. It would be a tight squeeze with three in the back and one up front with Wallace. At least this way, they could get the gardens faster. It would take far too long if they had to drag her. Damn bike. Marina rested against the window and Temperance sat beside her. The green-eyed girl left a space available on her lap for Olivia. She must have a high tolerance for those that talk a lot, because there was no way Marina would ever sit there and willingly listen to Olivia go on and on.

 

Nope. Madeline ducked down as arrows started to fly and Theodore hit the floor. Why. She covered her head and face and kept down.

Theodore wasn't surprised to see Quin pointing her bow at him. Of course, mutiny. These rotten, selfish--oh, shit. He braced himself, but the arrows whizzed past him. He heard a thud and whipped around. Three...scientists? Had they been in the back room that whole time? Why were they... Theodore shook his head. He wouldn't be going back for any more masks. Using Quin's arrows as a distraction, he ran towards his truck and threw the masks and stuff into the back.

❝Let's go. Gogogogo. DRIVE AWAY IF YOU CAN.❞

He sounded calmer than he felt, at first. The tunnel exploded into light. Two of the scientists had been shot successfully, but one of them still held a strange weapon. He had seen it before, in the labs, but was never interested in what it did. He regretted not being more involved in his father's studies at this point. Never the less, he made sure Quin was back in her truck before slamming down on the gas and towards one of the tunnels that would lead them out into the open.

The other two trucks were in front of him now.
❝JUST KEEP GOING, OKAY? IF YOU HEAR WATER, YOU'RE GOING TO THE WRONG WAY.❞
He tried to yell over the sound of trucks and explosions coming from being him. He didn't want to look behind him. Crap, what could he do to make sure those in his truck got out safely?

Cherno kicked the acceleration when he heard Threnody's voice among a few of them. Shoot.
They were ahead, and they had to get out fast.
He DROVE FORWARD QUICKLY, heading for where he could find the exit.
And then the truck exited in a cinematic scene reminiscent of a Die Hard movie or something.

 

OH ****, Kallisti shot . . . who were those people?

That wasn't mattering, Theo was yelling at them now to get the **** out of there. The one stranger that was still standing had this . . . super high tech weapon that was causing explosions, and Harley didn't have to be told twice to drive. His truck was in the front now, and he spared no time racing forward, keeping an ear out for flowing water and going accordingly.

Damn, he really wished he could have run over that one that was still alive . . . " Don't go that way! " Kallisti said, and he swerved to make a left, and then she told him to make a right for good measure. More explosions.

They weren't safe down here anymore.

Madeline glared behind them, watching FOR Theodore. Of course, the cave was collapsing in on itself. They must have--those men--must have planted explosives. Her heart was about to burst from her chest and she started to hyperventilate. Without warning, Theodore swore and swerved the truck. The strawberry blonde watched in agony as the other two trucks made it to safety. If only her legs were faster than a truck. But now, Theodore was driving backwards. Why?


"So, I am going to do something that is going to suck for you guys. Please take the masks and the suits, and anything else you can grab, and pull yourself up onto the roof."

Theodore was speeding, but the cave in was too fast. Rubble was already smashing into the front of the truck.

"I-I am going to slam on the b-brakes and you guys need to use that momentum to propel forward and MOVE. Run, crawl, however you land, just don't stop. You u-understand? Just MOVE."

Madeline wouldn't be the one to ask about his own safety. She grabbed a mask and pulled it over her face, and was already climbing out of the 'windows' and clinging to the back of the jeep, where the extra tire was kept as soon as he finished his sentence.

When he hit the brakes, away she flew, right onto her face. She then scrambled up and ran as fast and as far as she could at the point.

Cherno kept driving the truck forward. He didn't know the streets of Brookridge as well - or, what was left of them, really - but he knew the campus was a general south of where they were. Cherno made a quick right around a piece of rubble on the road.

... Damn.
The surface was a real mess, here.
Buildings were torn apart, their skeletal carcasses left remaining among mountains of rubble. Smoke trailed out from amorphous slabs of rock. Shattered glass was a common sight, trees were uprooted, and the very road itself was lined with cracks. This was gonna be a challenge, but Cherno loved challenges.
The bumps kept the truck jostling, and Cherno calmly informed John and Thomas to calm their boots in this insanity.
He then opened the window and called out to Harley.

"Brother! You're the vanguard! Prepare yourself for a ride of a lifetime, then!"
They drove to the point that they could see the spires of the Academy, grey and lifeless.

xxxxxCherno stopped the truck as they reached the Heliocanthea, gritting his teeth as he waited for the other trucks. Off over in the distance, he saw another vehicle approaching.

Was it those so-called fugitives, then?

 

Harley continued to drive every which way until finally, there was an exit. He didn't think he'd be so happy to get out of the tunnels and into the poisoned air, but he was, and then they were on their way to meet Marina.

Marina. That kiss. Maybe it had been a little bit more than that, but he knew the rules, and Harley wasn't a relationship-kind of guy anyway . . . He was just so sad about her. He didn't want her to die. The damn girl had basically slapped gusto into him again, gave him a reason to go on. Hell, maybe he could win this game, who knew?

. . . He'd have to tell Vanille not to kill him while he slept. " Harley, watch where you're driving! " Kallisti chided as Harley moved out of the path of a large boulder. In his rear-view mirror, he saw Theo's truck . . . driving backwards. What the hell was that kid doing? He was going to get them killed.

He looked at the three passengers of his truck, and considered going back, but that'd mean death. Maybe.

Some time later, they arrived on campus, on bombed campus, and he drove to the Heliocanthea.

 

Heidi pocketed the note and regretably did as Theo said. She grabbed the suit and climbed onto the roof of the truck. When he hit the brakes, she went tumbling forward and into the hard ground before starting to run.

 

Following Theo's orders Elliot grabbed a mask and put it on then the suit before grabbing the bag he had brought with him before, going on to the roof as soon as he could. He waited for the brakes to hit, preparing himself in a way which would hopefully have him land the safest as possible. There wasn't really time for thought though, just action.

Once their cue came up, the sudden stop, which sent him flying to the ground. Once he landed his body rolled some before he was able to get to his feet to run out of there.

THE CAVE ENTRANCE COMPLETELY COLLAPSES. NOTHING TO BE SEEN BUT ROCKS AND FILTH, NOW. SHAME.​

Casey immediately walked out of the car that had parked at the garden and walked forward upon noticing the truck up ahead. Immediately noticing the familiar face of his roomate Cherno, Casey ran up to him "Have you been able to locate the others? For now I can provide shelter, but we must move fast before anybody locates us" Casey said

 

At the sight of the trucks pulling up to the gardens, Marina opened the door to the car, spilling out onto the wet night time ground. Her hands were covered in mud and she groaned in pain. She used the car to pull herself upright, barely able to stand. She leaned on the vehicle, keeping all of her wait on her right leg. The freshly burned left leg was unbelievably painful. Marina waved a hand at the two large vehicles that approached. "Hey! Time to go." She smiled in the dark, but was in an incredible amount of pain.

 

For once in his life, Cherno was glad - and surprised to see such a changed - Casey.
He gratefully ran up to him and shook his hand, saying that the others were in the other trucks and would come soon. Looking at Casey's vehicle he asked to tell him to make room for the others, for we can go into the manor.

After that, Cherno helped his and the other truck open up its doors and ran off towards Casey's vehicle to meet the others.

Blood poured from her nose like a fountain and Madeline's hands shook. Not properly secured, the mask kind of hung off of her face. She gazed at the fallen cave entrance and found herself just a little...sad. Theodore. Squish. Reminded her of someone. Gazing around, she noticed that the other trucks were no where in sight. They had left them. HAHA. How expected! She wondered if Quin or Thomas had even though twice about it. Those fucking bastards. Honestly, she could imagine being left alone to die. But Elliot, and Heidi...They had people who really cared about them, didn't they?

She looked at them. They seemed relatively alright.

Madeline felt faint. Without waiting, she put on a suit and tried her best to handle the obviously broken nose she'd be sporting, before securing the mask. Her covered fingers were covered in blood by the end of it.

Oh ****, she felt really faint. She took a seat where she stood and then curled into a ball, completely passing out.

 

The trucks were all at a rest now, but there was no sign of the third truck or it's occupants. Harley hopped out, told the others to wait, and then listened in on Cherno and the kid with black hair. Casey, wasn't it?

" Marina, " Harley called, quickly making his way over to the car. She'd fallen. Damn, she looked worse than when he had left her, " Glad you kept the promise, " he said to her, pecking her on the forehead, " C'mon, Casey says we're going to his place for rest. Things were pretty crazy before we got here.

Harley helped her to the truck and Kallisti moved aside for her to sit.

 

Casey nodded at Cherno and once everybody was set Casey immediately got in the car and had Wallace lead them to the manor. They began their travel and immediatelty they drove into a forest and up to the secret manor. Upon reaching there Casey led everybody in and led them to a place to sleep. Wallace immediately began to tend to the wounds of others and tended to their needs.
