Thomas sat there for a moment. Baffled. He had told her his opinion and she moved away from him. What was wrong with her?? He frowned at her in the gloomy light they had. Had he said something wrong? Maybe. All he knew for sure was that this hurt and he would get to the bottom of it. After all they were stuck in a tunnel, where could she even run. "Maddy, wait." He knelt infront of her. "What's up? I want to know what I did. After all, one of these guys might save your life so how can we not use that?" His voice stayed as low and as calm as he could possibly make it. Surely they could talk out their differences.

    ++++++++++++++±+++++++++++

John didn't do much as they walked deeper into the left tunnel. Dropping a shell once every ten or so feet. Finally they alighted on something worth telling the others about, a part of him didn't want to return to the others. The thought made him quiet as he didn't pay attention to Harley, after all, when he was about to do some self exploring for things to take personally, he flicked on his flash light and And he searched an empty car. He could see that the vehicles didn't seem to have a ignition point, but there was a control pad looking device near the steering wheel. Oh joy. A password protected truck. Wonderful.

John silently fumed at Antilum and young Theodore. Rubbing his beads to calm himself down as he shined his light about for a hidden code. Maybe a dense trucker left it scrawled somewhere around her. John sighed when he stepped down onto the ground after finding nothing to start up the truck. He wondered if anyone with his group or at camp could hotwire one if these trucks. Perhaps Elliot? Maybe. He had glasses after all.

"We should probably move here. The old storage spot is lighter so it will be easier to bring the few supplies there to here. Plus we're going to need more minds for figuring out what to do with these trucks. If we can even do anything with them. " He was done speaking and he switched off his flash light, the light above them was enough for him at the moment. His face went from a blank sort of thinking look to a full on frown. Why did he have a nagging unease all of the sudden?

"Young sir are you sure its wise to do this?" Wallace said glancing over at the teen

"Yes, I've made up my mind" Casey said closing his eye as he let out a sigh. New from Wallace stated that those from the hospital were evicted before the bombing. This eased his thoughts about Heidi, but definitely not fully. Their last encounter was not a pleasant, and Casey wished to at least mend the ties between the two before tragedy struck. Though staying in the manor was a safe possibility, Casey knew death would sooner or later catch him off guard. He needed help for this and knew he just couldn't do it alone. Searching the whole entire city for the others was foolish, so he only placed one hope left, and that was in the Brookridge Academy. If he could just find somebody, he could formulate a better plan for them to move on into the future. Placing hope into these allies could possibly lead to an untimely demise, but it was the only option he had left at this time.

"I will take no protests Wallace, I thank you for your services, but its time I step up. I am the son of the most manliest family there ever was...its time I finally man up for once" Casey said closing his eyes as the preparations for the trip soon began. All the necessary procedures took place and along with Casey, he carried a backpack that carried essentials that were needed in any uncertain scenarios. Food, and things for medical aid were all the main things stuffed inside and once he was ready the two set off on their journey. The journey was a bit long but soon enough Casey and Wallace reached the Brookridge Academy. Having discussed their course of action during the travel to the academy, Casey and Wallace looked towards each other and nodded before walking separate ways into the the academy. Their goal was to search for the others and to help the wounded.

Huh. No keys. Okay, that made sense. These trucks were down here, hidden under Antilum, the super high-tech palace of medicine. They were probably code-activated. Damn. They didn't have codes. He bet that Theo had them, but every moment that passed, the kid was dying.

    What a situation.

" Vas is das? " Bernie said from the next truck, after Harley had gotten out of his, and he made his way over to her. She was looking at a small control panel with numbered keys that was near the steering wheel. He was right; they needed a code to activate these trucks - and Theo probably had them. Damn sick kid.

" We should probably move here. The old storage spot is lighter so it will be easier to bring the few supplies there to here. Plus we're going to need more minds for figuring out what to do with these trucks. If we can even do anything with them. " Harley leaned out of the truck to look at John.

He was right. It would be a good idea to move here. They didn't have to walk so far anyway . . .

" Alright. We'll return to camp and start moving things over here. " Elliot had mentioned something about a medicine that Theo needed. They didn't have that medicine. Would it put him in a better condition? He hoped so. They needed to find that medicine, otherwise Harley would never be able to die.

Arriving back at camp seemed shorter than the trip to the truck area. " We found trucks, and supplies. " he announced, " But the trucks need codes, and I'm sure Little Welder there has them, but he's pretty dead right now, so we're not gonna be able to use the trucks. John suggested we move camp to there - it's not far - so we'll be able to get the code and use the trucks to get out of here . . . "

He looked at Marina, " You plan to go back to the surface to get this . . . medicine for Theo, right? " he asked her, and then Vanille began directing people to grab their dwindling supplies and moving it to the storage area after getting the directions.

When she was finished with her legs, Marina bunched up all the old puss and blood covered gauze in a plastic shopping bag. She would have to dispose of it once on the surface. Marina pulled the scrubs back on her body and slipped inside the large rubber yellow suit. She unhooked the face mask from her ears and slipped it in the pocket beside a fresh piece of fabric from her dress. Ripping it into shreds was killing her. To willing destroy her clothing made her want to cry. She brushed her hair to the side and a few more locks fell out as she did so. Never had she wished for her wigs more than this moment. They were all at school. Her room was on the first floor. She could possibly get one later, if she lasted that long.

She zipped up the suit and walked down the hall until she met back up with the others. Elliot seemed unsure of injecting her with the antibiotics, but after providing him with the gloves and a second bottle of hand sanitizer, he had the syringe filled with the clear liquid and shoved it into her bare arm. When he pulled it out, she pulled the suit back up and undid the face mask once it was zipped up. Marina gave a nod to the others before standing up. She had to use the wall for balance, as her legs tried to give way. Getting back to the elevator she climbed down on would take a bit of effort. She had not eaten anything all day, and the exhaustion just kept pulling at her more and more.

Marina coughed inside the suit, before turning away from the others. "I will be go--" she stopped at the sudden arrival of the scouting party. They were back and had found trucks and more supplies. "Moving your things sounds like a good idea. We brought a bunch of medical supplies, food, drinks, blankets, and other miscellaneous items." She nodded at the bags and Heidi seemed to jump out from under the blanket and began to pick up all the stuff they dumped out. For being quiet and constantly on edge, the girl seemed rather helpful.

Harley looked at Marina, "You plan to go back to the surface to get this . . . medicine for Theo, right?"

She nodded slowly. "I do. I am leaving as we speak." Marina nibbled nervously on her lower lip. Where was he going with this? "Mister Jackson, it is probably best if you remain down here. You do not want to be exposed to all of this. She gestured to herself in the suit. "It is quite bad up there." Marina pushed a duffel bag over to him with her foot before turning on her heel to head down the hall, flashlight in hand. "You will need to put that on once we get to the elevator shaft, should you decide to come with." She really hoped he would not do so, but the company would be nice. Marina did not want him to get sick as well. He was strong and dependable, they needed a leader.

Marina walked away from him and the others, into the darkness of the tunnel--the only light coming from her flashlight.

In reply to his question, Marina nodded slowly. " I do. I am leaving as we speak. "

Perfect. He'd go with h - " Mr. Jackson, it is probably best if you remain down here. You do not want to be exposed to all of this. " She gestured to herself in the suit. " It is quite bad up there. " Despite that, she pushed a bag towards him, " You will need to put that on once we get to the elevator shaft, should you decide to come with. "

She discourages him, but gives him the bag. Okay, then. Harley was conflicted whether or not he should go with her. He only had a limited amount of time left anyway. There was no way he was going to win this game. Of course not. He shrugged. If he was exposed to all of that stuff up there, it'd be fine.

He looked over his shoulder at their party. Stuff was already being moved to the new camp. Vanille watched him with a wary eye and he could tell she was trying not to shake her head or cry. He sighed. Theo needed to get better - and if Marina died up there, then he'd have no direction to go for the medicine.

Harley slipped on the suit, and then gave a few quiet directions to Vanille. She looked at him with teary eyes, but all he could do was pat her head. He bid a goodbye to the rest of the main party and set off after Marina. He wondered what the surface looked like after all of the bombings. He'd know when they got up there.

" D'you know where we're headed? " he asked Marina quietly, when he caught up with her.

Harley caught up with her, easily matching her stride. "D'you know where we're headed?"

Marina nodded as she rounded the corner. "Relatively. Elliot described to the best of his knowledge the area it would be in and what it looked/smelled like. When I came in, we did not go past the lobby. The building was rather destroyed on the outside and I have no idea how stable any of the upper floors and staircases are." She stopped at the ledge of the elevator and jumped down the two-foot drop. Marina unzipped her suit and left it sitting on the floor. "I will put that back on when we return down here." She pulled the face mask out of her pocket and hooked the straps over her ears and wrapped her fingers around the cool metal bars. With a deep breath, she started to pull herself up. Her arms trembled with each pull upwards.

She climbed up higher and higher. Her palms were sweaty and she slipped a couple of times. Marina had to loop her arm through one of the rungs to stop and cough. Going up was more work than going down. When she reached the lobby, Marina climbed up a few steps higher.

"Harley, maybe you should jump first. I will climb up higher to give you room." Her arms were shaking and if she did not make the landing, she would not be able to hold on. She was straining to do what she could to stay on the metal ladder. Falling to her death after coming so far would not be tolerated. She took a few tricky steps up higher to make room for him to jump across. It was not a large gap, but enough to make things tricky for her.

Laurence stood on guard for the duration of the time, keeping an eye out for anything that roamed within the shadows. Though the pain felt magnificent, he could be allowed to die just yet. Laurence wished to live and bask in god's creation, he wished to learn from god and join him when only god chose it. If god chose his death than he would gladly accept it, but he would not allow a person to merely take that privilege away from him. He did all he could to help his sickly friend, but at the state they were in now he had little hope of changing anything.

It was just then that a newcomer appeared before them and immediately caught the attention of his friend. Before he knew it the girl named Temperance made a move, that only a sickly person could make. It seemed Temperance had no energy to even argue or fight back as she immediately began curl beside him. Such a sight was heartbreaking for Laurence to see. To see her suffer so and to be unable to help was truly a horrible thing and he only hoped that god would show her the love. Closing his eyes he gently placed his arm around her and began to stroke her in an attempt to comfort her. He listened to the intuder's words and immediately deduced that this intruder girl was no threat to them. The concern in her voice was good enough for him. "Stay my sister...if its temporary sanctuary you seek, then this would be the best place for now" Laurence said

Heidi scurried over to the bags and began cleaning up. She swiped the bottle of medication out and slipped it in her pocket, hoping no one would see. All the people down here seemed rather hateful. They wouldn't help or understand.

Why are you helping these people? There is enough to keep us surviving for plenty of days. I couldn't... I couldn't do that. These people-- Have done nothing for you? They don't know you. They don't care about you. Only one person cared and he's dead now. Don't talk about Altair like that! Why? It's the truth. Just face it. He's gone and not coming back. I wish you wouldn't come back.

Arguing with them always proved futile. The blond girl that had helped them carry the bags here earlier was now tossing all of them over her shoulders and leading the way back to the bunker that the trucks were in. Heidi followed after in the small group that went with. Her hands were relatively empty and when she offered to carry something, the blond girl started spouting things off in a language she didn't recognize. Instead, she dropped to the back of the group and fidgeted with the tips of her hair. She didn't have anyone she could talk to anymore. She was all alone in this crowd of people, just like before.

Harley pushed all of the negative thoughts out of his mind as he focused on the job. His newest partner began to explain their destination.

" Antilum was a sturdily built place, " he began, still following her, " chances are, the ruins should be fairly stable and a good part of a building should be up. " Well, he didn't actually know, but it was a good stab at what the surface would look like.

They stopped at the elevator shaft, and then Marina jumped down the small fall. He went down after her and then watched as she took off her suit. She didn't look good at all. He guest she was ready to die to - but not without a fight. He contemplated keeping his own suit on, but it'd be damn hard to move around in it. With a shrug, the suit came off. He grabbed the face mask from inside his discarded suit and slipped it on just as Marina did.

The trip up the ladder was nerve-wracking, mostly because Harley kept thinking Marina was going to fall, and it wouldn't be a pretty sight. He kept his distance from below her, and after a long several minutes, they both pulled up to the lobby - or what was left of it. Damn. It was a real mess up here. Worse than he thought, actually, but he said nothing on the subject.

He observed the jump that they would have to make. Marina was weak, would she be able to make it? " Harley, maybe you should jump first. I will climb up higher to give you room. " He nodded up at her as she went a few notches higher. He nimbly climbed and then gauged the distance he would have to jump in order to make it. Think parkour, he told himself. You've made scarier jumps than this.

With a deep breath, he prepped himself, and then violently pushed off the wall and then - ah, ****. Hanging on the ledge. The carpet became clutched under his hands as he swung up his other hand to put it on the ledge. He rested there for a second, not looking down or making himself paranoid. A moment later and Harley pulled himself up with ease, finally sitting on the ledge. This would be easier for Marina, he'd definitely be able to catch her.

" Your turn. " he murmured gently, holding out his arms, " Take a deep breath and push off of the wall as hard as you can. I'll catch you. Promise. "

Her dim blue eyes followed Marina and Harley into the darkness until the both of them were gone. She had been surprised - to say the least - when Marina had showed up with the small girl named Heidi. What did the world on the surface look like? Was it really that bad?

They were moving camp. Half of their things had already been moved, but when she came back after her third trip, she began to speculate how they were going to move Theodore. He was mostly dead weight - dead weight that could become useful, so they couldn't get rid of him yet. Earlier, Harley had said something about carrying him on his back, but now that the idiot was gone, they had only John.

John could probably pull it off, she thought to herself, thumbing at the sturdy sling of her bow across her chest. It plinged against the diamond necklace she wore, that she had brought down from Antilum when they were escaping. Summoning the demoness would need something like this, so she kept it on her at all times.

The small brunette that Marina had brought with her was a curious person. Her facial expressions were fairly animated, Kallisti thought, as if she were talking to someone in her mind. Overall, perhaps she was a little sad. It was a fiercely cold atmosphere down here, and all of them weren't exactly the warmest bunch. Considering the circumstances, none of them should have been expected to be.

To show the small girl comfort, Kallisti silently and gently clapped a hand on her shoulder, flashed her a brief smile, and then got back to work on moving. " John, " she said, " Will you be able to move Theodore from here to the new camp? " The distance wasn't so far, but he'd been moving around most all day, so he was more than likely tired.

While waiting for his response, her mind flipped through the numerous questions she had for their demoness. Per experience, she knew that detail and exactness was needed in her inquiries, otherwise her answers would be dodged. First and foremost, she wanted to find out what was known about this woman that was after them all. It couldn't really be Crestatia, could it? Ridiculous, the woman had control over all of them already.

Her dirty fingers played with the clear diamond necklace.

Madeline was done with the conversation, but Thomas pursued her. Before she had a moment to really wind down, he had knelt in front of her and was peering at her with those beautiful blue eyes. For a moment, she felt guilty for being so hard on him. He didn't understand, and things were probably better that way. Thomas was a good person. One of the few...Or, so he seemed. She wondered how someone like him got caught up in such a terrible game.

"What's up? I want to know what I did. After all, one of these guys might save your life so how can we not use that?"

A smile fell upon her face. Ah, so he knew, and was trying to appeal to her. She shook her head. This was not the place for such a conversation, and she was done with it.

"Never mind, Thomas. You've done nothing wrong."

Now they were discussing moving camps, so Madeline pulled herself up and gathered a few things she could carry with her. She waited for Thomas to do the same before making the trip to their new set up.

Elliot began helping with moving their makeshift camp by carrying whatever he could, going back and forth until just about everything was placed in the truck area. Though once he figured that the others could grab the rest he began examining the trucks. It would seem that codes would be needed, and if his father was right then he had one of them. It'd be useless without the other so this tidbit wasn't shared and wouldn't be until Marina returned with the needed medicine.

He would have gone for it himself, much earlier too, but it felt like his chance to do just that had somehow been skipped over. Or was he too lost in his thoughts by that point to do so? Who knows.

Anyway, they could probably start loading them now. But he was more interested in what else the tunnels had to offer, though his fear of dark places forbade him to go alone. Maybe once the scouts chose to focus back on it he would offer to come along...

Until then, though, he really had things that needed answers. So he set off to find the girl who had come down here with Marina, smiling once he saw her. "G-good day. Evening? I have no idea with time anymore, haha. A-anyway... Can you tell me what's the surface like these days? Also...has it rain since the last bombing?" His sleep deprived eyes stared at her as he impatiently waited for a reply.

From but a cove above, like a mortal god looking about her subjects, Olivia the bird spotted the others in the dark space of the cavernous trapdoor.
It was good, indeed, that they were getting somewhere! What luck, after all. Especially when the radiation did not seem as intense here.
She sat, roosting within a small cranny high by the underground parts of the stage, waiting and waiting. Even as a bird, it felt ridiculous of her to just leave the survivors, despite finding them a strange bunch.

Three of them. The girl named Bronagh and that famous Temperance lady that Cherno seemed obsessed like a right scallywag fool about. And then a third person that Olivia did not quite recognize. Or perhaps she did not remember?

They would have to get out of here soon.
Perhaps she could get their attention, and explain a few things? The girl named Temperance seemed to just ... curl up and sleep.
Well! Huff! That was unpleasant. Olivia, in Viola's body, turned her beak to the wood nearby and loudly tapped at it to gain their attention, turning on the beam of red light from her eye and pointing it at the person that was not Bronagh or Temperance. Right, Olivia ...
With a wing, she held that small cube from Damocles close to her body.

    "Hey!
    Listen!
    Can you hear me?
It is I, the one and only Olivia."

    Tap tap.
"May I ask how you came here and what course of action you have to escape?
We must judge which ones are the most logical before people are led out accordingly."

Marina watched as Harley jumped and struggled to climb up onto the ledge. That was comforting. When he finally pulled himself up, he sat on the edge waiting for her. "
Your turn." he murmured gently, holding out his arms, "Take a deep breath and push off of the wall as hard as you can. I'll catch you. Promise."

She climbed back down the ladder a few steps so that she was at the appropriate height. Marina's eyes roamed over the gap. Harley really should not have taken off his suit. He was risking a lot by doing so. She inhaled deeply before closing her eyes and lunging off the ladder, into Harley's arms. She struggled to hold onto him, but it was a good thing he was stronger than her. When he pulled her up, she sat beside him for a few minutes before continuing. She was breathing heavily and ran her hands over her thighs. "You really should not have taken off your suit. If I do not get you sick from contact, the air certainly will." Marina pulled out a hat and slipped it on her head. She could not keep up with how quickly her hair was falling out, and she quite liked her hair.

Her legs were trembling, but she swung them off the ledge and pulled herself upright. "We should get going. There is a lot of damage on this side, but I think the staircase near the north side of the building should be intact." Her legs quaked below her, but she walked on anyway until she reached the staircase. Marina lifted the sleeves to her elbows and checked the gauze on her arms as she carefully began to ascend the stairwell. How long did Theodore have left? He had to make it until they got back. Her hand caressed the banister as she tiptoed her way up and stopped on one of the landings to cough. Her body was racked with illness. I will probably not make it back down the ladder.

"G-good day. Evening? I have no idea with time anymore, haha. A-anyway... Can you tell me what's the surface like these days? Also...has it rain since the last bombing?"
Heidi was startled by the fact that someone was speaking to her. It was even more startling than the dark haired girl that set her hand on her shoulder a few minutes prior. Her eyes went wide, but slowly, she shook her head. "No... no rain. Hot and dry and icky. Most snow melted." She turned her face away. It had been so long since she had real interaction with anyone and she was already so bad at it to begin with. You're doing great deary. Just take care of him. He seems weak enough. You could handle at least this one. Take him down that dark tunnel over there. See where it leads and get rid of him. She shook her head no as she set a bag down inside the backseat of the truck. Heidi was tired, but was too afraid to sleep. She wouldn't let them win.

Oh. It would have been so nice to hear that the rain washed the toxins out of the air. However there were mountains around...if they left it could end up being safer out there. Though...this girl seemed rather healthy. Was the suit originally on her? "Pity... You, y-ouuu. What's you name? You girl, where were you staying?"

Maybe there was some place better than the wilds, like a refugee camp or something. Though they really shouldn't risk going to a place where people might recognize them, especially if these people were sick, hungry, and homeless. Though it shouldn't matter where they went...he shouldn't even be thinking about that for his father had just the place for a time like this to be so he would go there, and without the rest. Couldn't go while exposed to the air though, which was why the trucks were such a wonderful sight.

He wondered if Theodore would go with them...and if they could find Olivia on the way.

[ooc: super secret at work post. shhhhh]
Temperance pulled herself upright and leaned against the wall. She wasn't a fan of the fact that Laurence invited the stranger to stay, but upon better lighting, she realized the girl was one of them. She groaned in frustration. Olivi-bird started doing all sorts of crazy acts to get their attention and then her cool mechanical voice echoed in the space. A plan... she knew a plan. That crazy psychic chick had told her that she had a plan when she ran into her two days ago. That was before the fever. Temperance shivered under the blankets, suddenly finding that three was not nearly enough. She coughed and had to take a deep breath, subduing the urge to vomit. "Your psychic friend c-c-c-c-c-confr-fr-fronted me when I was outt-t-t-two days ag-g-g-g-g-go." Her teeth chattered as she tried to talk through the shivering. "Sh-she has s-s-some s-s-sort of pl-plan. We're supoosed t-t-t-t-to h-h-hold tight."

Heidi fidgeted nervously in front of the boy. She didn't know who he was and he seemed to just keep talking to her. It was becoming increasingly difficult to just fade in with the background. "Pity... You, y-ouuu. What's you name? You girl, where were you staying?" he asked.

"H-Heidi..." she muttered, staring at the cold dirty floor. "I was... I was at the... the hospital..." She was reluctant to share that bit of information with anyone. Surely they would ask why. "Um..." Heidi turned away slightly. "Your name?" She asked softly.

"Heidi," the name was repeated as he made a mental note of it. He wasn't keeping track of subjects and their numbers anymore, though if he could still study them that would have been great. To control the group would be so much fun, if he wasn't going to die soon that is. This one may be easy to trick, though besides a small feeling about that he could not know for sure. His focus was more on the mention of the hospital anyway. "Elliot. The h-hospital... Did you meet a doctor Karen Anderson?"

Heidi pressed her lips firmly together in concentration. She shook her head as she tried to think. "No...umm... I'unno... maybe." She looked up at Elliot in disappointment, unable to help him. "I didn't talk to people. Focused on people worse than me..." Heidi shoved her hands in her pockets and her expression turned solemn. "Sorry..." she muttered.

Even though he might have laughed if he heard that his mother had died he still felt a bit of dread not knowing if she was okay or not. It wasn't like that laughter would be out of joy, after all. Either way he smiled now, thanking Heidi anyway. If only she hadn't said another curious thing though, for if she didn't he would walk away now. Not like he had anything to do, though. He was thinking of something at least, and maybe soon he would have-

"Worse people?" He started, looking down at the girl with a thoughtful expression. There was a thought... "And...y-you know, we haven't been down this tunnel yet. Want to come with me to check it out?"

"Worse people?" Her face paled. She meant those that were actually physically sick, but it might not come across that way. She was pretty bad, but not physically unwell. Heidi nodded at him though, without making eye contact. "And...y-you know, we haven't been down this tunnel yet. Want to come with me to check it out?" She lifted her gaze slightly to the dark tunnel they came from.

"S-sure," she muttered before running back to one of the trucks to grab a flashlight. Heidi turned it on before stopping next to him. "R-ready..."
