John had no beef, qualms or issues with the heavily tattooed girl. Sure she offered to stab herself in order to summon their favorite demon, but hey, kudos to her for bravery. However, he immediately blacklisted her and Antilum as soon as she gave Kallisti a bow. He glanced about at all current Bellhurst students. Was he the only one seeing this? He shook his head and hurried to slip a knife and it's sheath around his ankle. Afterwards, he picked up a box of 9 millimeter bullets, simply staring at his crew with an inward sigh. Yes. Let's go... wait, did that girl have an accent? Oh sweet baby Jesus. John made the sign of the cross before following after his fellow blondes.

He simply snorted in response to Harley's words, staring at him in the darkness because he voiced the obvious. But maybe it was for the girl's benefit. He accepted the flashlight and pocketed it beside his lighter.

They reached the fork in the road before he squatted to drop on shell in the center of the fork. He lightly shook the box of shells. "I say we go right. Then double back if we're wrong. It would take too long to go in one end and then turn around to explore the other. Time is of the essence and we should keep on a straight and narrow path. Much easier to remember, even if I have the shells as our bread crumbs." He started down the right handed path without waiting anyway, he had to be right.[DOUBLEPOST=1363839442][/DOUBLEPOST]He watched the courageous group of three blonds vanish into the darkness and hoped they would be safe. Vanille had a good grasp on checking their rations so he was glad she stayed. Who knew what some of the others might do if someone wasn't handling the food control.

Gaunt cuteness at it's finest just brushed his leg and his heart raced for a second or two. He leaned down a little to hear her better. Trying to be discreet because she was whispering, he spoke back just as quietly, "I know we'll be fine..at worse, those guys don't find anything, and we just set out anyway, because I think Theodore might need professional attention for something other then fainting. I mean what if he needs some medicine? Or he will wake up to just...faint again." He disliked saying faint but it seemed to describe it without it being the worse word, which was coma. He adjusted his glasses and thought for a bit more. "I got you. We'll make it out of here a live. But for now, we should discuss or do something. Unless there's something you wanted to ask me." He hoped there was, he enjoyed talking to her, it was nice, though he wished she had done so before all this when they were semi normal kids at the Academy.

xxxxxHis scar was the bite-mark of the fires of despair around him. Carnage, destruction, humiliation, all set to the rat-a-tat-tat of the nuclear blitz on the surface. Bang. Every day, every minute, like the pulse of his heart or the breaths of dirty, cavernous air. Bang. With it went a life, or two, or fifty, or fifty hundred. Like a spark, like a candle, violently snuffed out before it could gently fade away. And with it came the cracks and the rocks. These tunnels were a death sentence in wait, but they were also the one cord tying them to living their desperate, emaciated existence. Bang. The gods of fate fired their guns at the people below, all looking for these children who would run and fight another day.

Cherno shone his flashlight upon the jagged wall to his right. Bright beads of putrid-smelling blackwater left cloudy trails upon the stone. Eeeeeeeeeeugh. The surface, filled with creases and melancholic wrinkles, was otherwise completely bare -- not even a single root penetrated this far through the rock. Right. It was one of the unmarked walls. Huh, his stuff didn't get wet in the puddle, did it? Cherno placed the flashlight down by his sore feet, shining the fan of light towards the tunnel's low ceiling, and retrieved a slab of dusty gypsum from his coat.

This was one of the outlier tunnels, not yet explored by the others. Harley's party would be here soon, so it'd be dandy stankerin' if he finished his business quickly. Cherno slid closer to the wall, and with a snakelike hand, marked a large, white cross on the gnarled stone. This entire trip had left him a nervous wreck. Fucking germs must be everywhere. But-- shit, he had to get damn right used to everything if he wanted to live. And more than anything, really, Cherno desperately clung to this meager, dirty existence, trapped with these fellow targets that were still struck with mounds of infighting and mistrust.

Cherno stepped back from the wall, and let out a deep sigh. With his chalky hand, he rubbed his eyepatch and gazed down at his wet boots.
How long could they live like this? He'd been damn well trying his best to keep all of his emotions to himself. Logic, Cherno. Logic. But the faces, all of them, came back to haunt him. The time travel failed to save some of those good folks. They all dropped dead down, dirt-eating, like their actions were just useless nudges in the wrong direction. Except for a few, who still lived.

    Like John, and Temperance.
They were okay. John was with him. Sort of.
He wasn't the same. Fuck. Cherno fell to the ground like a slumping ragdoll. He had this-- this obsession with the girl M. It seemed to take over his life, and-- even if he didn't remember much, yeah, his heart still bore the cold lacerations of abandonment and loneliness.
But Cherno would chuckle to himself. He deserved it. He deserved it all, of course, for leaving such a close friend like that.
    And Temperance.
Where was she? She was okay, yeah? Please, please, be okay. Please be safe. Cherno would stay up in hours of sleep, deep in melancholy and pensive thought as he gazed at the others, but out of those not here, his thoughts would flow to the sister Temperance. She wasn't with him. They were separated, again, and he had little idea how to contact her.
Cherno crawled towards the wall and rested his back on its fluffy bumps, breathing gently. He spread his legs out forward, and reached into one of his coat pockets. There-- there-- right, there it was. The cold metal between his fingers. Like an orange of blackened steel. He popped the metal sphere out of his pocket, and unconsciously traced his thumb around the engraved "ORPHEUS". It wasn't much to say about the dreams he had. How could he sleep when thousands were suffering above? Damn, he didn't even have a mirror to see how large the bags under his eyes had grown.
It had really been worse, time travel and all.
The burns weren't helping, but then we had all that nonsense about the bag-wearing lady. Were they one of the demoness' dolls? Did the gameboard really include the genocide of a million innocents? Disgusting. What a ratchet drag-swaggin' monster. That was, of course, assuming that that batty witch had her hands in all of this.

Cherno took out a notepad from one of his pockets, and sliding out the pen that rested within its coil, traced out more absentminded lines of thought interspersed with poetic verse.

They had to escape, but they didn't all escape.
Did Ben make it? Was he okay? He-- he couldn't have died again, right?
And the others! The others, on the surface. That weirdo silver-haired girl who still hadn't revealed her name. What the fuck was up with her? She disappeared after she was saved, and Cherno had no idea if she was able to return to her body. But-- but what was with her? He knew so little about her, and yet, she seemed like such a big part of his past life. Ugh. Cherno squeezed his eyes shut and gently tapped the back of his head to the cold stone wall-- FUCK HE-- HE DIDN'T TOUCH ANY GERMS DID HE--

NO-- no. No, Cherno, Cherno Plume. Calm. Calm yourself.
    Okay.
    Breathe.

    ...

    There.

    ...

The tunnels were quiet. Well, most of the time.
It made living here terrible. You heard two types of sounds in these tunnels.
It was either the soft dripping of water -- drip, drip drip -- that haunted your dreams and nightmares and stuck in your head till they drove you damn up the second derivative of these walls.
Or, it was the explosions. The haunting cracks, like ripping apart metal with gloves of thunder and fingers flinging gunshots. The explosions that meant someone, somewhere, lost their precious life.

    ... Fuck.
Cherno didn't-- he didn't want to think about it. He didn't have time.
He absentmindedly turned his head towards the flashlight.
The darkness was chilling. Ugh. He-- he never liked the darkness. It was all ... shadowy. Black. Pitch black. Fuck black. He--
It was only recently, anyway, that he felt so averse to that damn colour. And it was everywhere. Cherno was trapped in a landscape of his fears, and he had no choice but to live and survive among them. He closed his eyes and turned his head towards the right side of the tunnel.

The tunnel's dreariness was almost poetic in its despair.
How long had it been since Cherno felt like writing up some of his poetry ... ?

    Hm.

There was the boy who found him, Threnody.
His sickness was the start of all of these problems. Sudden, like the explosions. Bang. He was ill, and only syringe knew what to deal because it was some kind of special case. Then things began to fall apart. They entered the tunnels and from the get-go things hadn't been as planned as they should've been. Losing schedule, getting lost, almost falling and losing more people. Fighting over food and shelter, and trying to fix up sleeping times. Not to mention all of the lingering animosity that filled the air with a bitter bile.

But ... but, it was improving.
    Thankfully.

    Thankfully ... ?

Off in the distance, Cherno heard--
No, he saw. He saw the shadows and lights of an approaching party,
and it was a voice. German. German!

Was this that German student from Brookridge? The party had reached this far.
    ... Yeah.
Yeah, decisions like these, working together for this collective good, was probably the only thing that kept the flame of hope burning alive in Cherno's heart these days.

But ... he didn't have the motivation to call out.

Bernie's accent was pretty strong, but he understood what she said. John had yet to say anything, so he was about to head left, until he actually . . . said something.

" I say we go right. Then double back if we're wrong. It would take too long to go in one end and then turn around to explore the other. Time is of the essence and we should keep on a straight and narrow path. Much easier to remember, even if I have the shells as our bread crumbs. "

Ooookay. Harley rolled his eyes when he started walking with an assurance in his step. If he was wrong, Harley would be tempted to clock him one and mock is 'time is of the essence' when he wasted it by taking them down the wrong path. He looked at Bernie and then shrugged, following The Clergyman.

They walked for another thirty minutes and the path was so unkempt, Harley wondered why anyone bothered using these damned tunnels in the first place. There were places where even he couldn't touch the ceiling, and then where they all had to crouch to move through. Eventually, he came to a stop and sighed.

" Far enough down this path. " he said to the other two, " We haven't found anything, and if we keep walking, we're going to waste more time and energy. " He turned around and started walking again. " We should get back to the fork and go down the left path, just to see if there's anything that way. " And this time, without waiting for either of them, he began to walk.

" . . . iot! The . . . ! . . . listi! Har . . .! . . . jamin! Cherno . . . ! " Harley stopped and looked over his shoulder, then at the other two. Shit. Who was that? It was a girl. What girl? He reached for his knife and motioned John to get his gun.

" . . . Elliot! " That voice was familiar. He looked at the other two, going deep into thought.

It wasn't someone looking for them, was it? Who'd known that they'd been at Antilum besides all of the employees and servants? Even then, how many of them knew that there were tunnels down here?

He took a few cautious steps forward, turning to John, " You'd better pray for our souls, Clergyman. " he said, slightly teasingly, " Who's there? " he called out flicking open his knife and pointing his dim flashlight at the ground.

Madeline listened. Or, pretended to. She nodded when he finished and handed him the bag of potatoes (more like shoved it into his arms and brushing her hands of on her shorts). Typical response, but she was beginning to feel a little...bad. Thomas was smitten, and weak. He was easy to manipulate and that in itself made him less...desirable. But she needed him, and appreciated--no--adored the attention he gave her.

...She was a bad person. She didn't care about anyone but herself, in the end, she thought...Of course, she was being dramatic and over-exaggerating. Madeline had the habit of making herself out to be more emotionally certain than she really was. Sure, she was selfish, but apart of her would always care. Had Thomas died...things might have been different. There wouldn't be enough time to get to know him better, or to get over her little 'crush'. He would have died, waiting for her--because of her. The guilt would have no doubt clouded her senses. How lovely that he lived. Especially now.

    Thomas Adams would protect her.

"If I'm honest, I don't really trust any of these people. Thomas..." Genuinely hesitant, Madeline stared down at their hands for a few seconds before softly weaving their fingers together and pulling him further away from the other's and closer and into the storage area until no one else could see them. "I think we should stick together. Look out for each other, and...when we're out of here, I think that, maybe, we should forget about everyone else. In other words, I want you to be very careful with who you trust, and me too...Do you mind? Do you understand?"

If it came down to it, she wanted Thomas' loyalty and as soon as the opportunity arose, she genuinely planned to ditch the rest. If given the opportunity to ditch the rest and escape in one piece together, with Thomas, she would take it. If only Kallisti and Thomas were friends. She had considered asking Quin for her partnership instead, but she didn't think she would go along with too easily. Especially with her...'family' here. Madeline rolled her eyes. She liked Quin, but she wasn't sure she trusted her completely. Still, she would do her best to protect the 'huntress' as well, perhaps manipulating Thomas into looking out for the both of them--assuming he agreed to help her out.

The pain...oh how it felt wonderful. It was such an unbelievable feeling that told him one thing and was that he was alive. Oh how Laurence loved the pain he received, practically half of his body was burnt but he could not complain. God chose to give him this pain, god sent it for him to endure it and love it like he did with all the things of god's will. The world was such a magnificent place, and though God make have created many ugly things such as pain, Laurence loved it. He was an enlightened being that understood gods meanings and chose to accept it. He loved god and he was sure god loved him back.

Though Laurence was an enlightened being, he could not say the same about the others that he encountered. It hurt him to see the people that suffered through pain, it hurt him that they were ignorant to gods true meaning. Laurence wished to have been able to teach these brothers and sisters of him the true meaning of gods words, but the shunned him. Oh the many tears that were shed when they did so, but nonetheless the god blessed Laurence did all he could and never hated anybody. It was after the revelation of god that he encountered the girl that became his new acquaintance. She like him was one of the chosen of god and suffered the pain of gods revelation. In the past five days Laurence wished to help her ease the pain that she received from god. It had seemed that she was unable to enjoy the pain much like himself. Thirst was becoming a problem and Laurence managed to stock up some things during his little treks to gain food. "Here my sister, do try to save this, we are left with a very few rations" Laurence said lifting up a less than half filled bottle of water. He himself was thirsty but if it meant pleasing a sister then he would do it.

John seemed rather--demanding. Bernie wasn't sure how much she liked him, but she tried to keep an open mind. They had traveled down the right tunnel instead of the left. It seemed to go on forever, but they were nearing a dead end. There seemed to be a figure at the end that the others didn't notice. Bernadette waved to the person. She recognized him from the group. Had he really wandered off alone without anyone noticing?

"Far enough down this path." Harley said to the two of them, "We haven't found anything, and if we keep walking, we're going to waste more time and energy." He turned around and started walking again. "We should get back to the fork and go down the left path, just to see if there's anything that way." And this time, without waiting for either of them, he began to walk. She was about to protest that Cherno was down this hall, when a shouting startled her. Bernie grabbed Harley's arm when she jumped, but immediately let go out of awkward embarrassment. "You'd better pray for our souls, Clergyman." Harley said to John, "Who's there?" he called out flicking open his knife and pointing his dim flashlight at the ground.

A light came from the other end of the tunnel as two thin figures approached them with large bags on their shoulders. The one with the flashlight pointed directly on Harley in a large space-like suit. "Why Mister Jackson, is that any way to treat someone who comes bearing gifts?" asked a calm weary voice. Upon closer inspection, she realized that the suit was one of those Bio-hazard Haz-Mat suits and the other figure was a much smaller girl. They were carrying backpacks and duffel bags. "Would you boys be ever so kind to carry these? It has been a long trip and I am rather tired." The girl had yet to introduce herself as she set the backpack and duffel bag on the ground. The other girl behind her seemed to keep them on her shoulders, but looked unbelievably nervous.

"All take one." She reached for the backpack on Heidi's shoulders and struggled with the girl briefly to remove it. She seemed reluctant to take it off. Bernie glanced at the other curiously. "Vhy are yuu wearing daht?" She pointed at the suit.

"Radiation poisoning," she said simply. The suited female slipped her arms out of the suit's sleeves and coughed into a piece of fabric inside the suit. When she stopped, she slipped the cloth into a pocket and then stuck her arms back in the sleeves.

Kallisti knew people would be looking at her ( more those from Bellhurst ) when Vanille gave her a bow, but she was grateful for it. She had been given a spot in the group that only she could keep - unless one of the others just so happened to pop up with absolutely fantastic archery skills.

The only person who had shown any disdain for the fact that she'd been given a bow was John, and she could care less about what The God Kisser thought.

She had quietly kept her distance from the others after the small scout party had left. Her place for now was standing at the corridor which they went down, prepared to shoot at any given time. The amount of arrows she had was completely generous and if she wanted to, she could waste twenty and still have enough for a week or so. She'd not be able to take all of them with her, she knew that, but it would be good for them if they found a storage truck or something. That was her hope; vehicles.

With a sigh, she looked over her shoulder at Vanille, who was making her quiet rounds to check if everyone was alright. The small girl had a great change in demeanor since they'd arrived down here, and Kallisti didn't know if she liked that or not. She passed in front of her vision and then her blue eyes landed on Madeline and Thomas, who were sitting too close together for her comfort. She rolled her eyes.

Whatever. If Thomas was willing to take a bullet for Madeline, then that was all that mattered. The boy was so damned smitten that he couldn't see past his nose anyway.

" How are we doing? " she asked Vanille quietly as the smaller girl took a spot beside her.

" Theodore is still out . . . " she murmured, slightly fretful, " He needs to wake up soon. Elliot seems to be doing everything he can, but it's not enough. " A sigh. " At least, at our pace, we'll have enough food and water to last us one more week. Considering how much everyone eats, I should be right in it. "

    Kallisti sighed along with her.

Harley was ready to pounce as he heard footsteps walk closer and he nodded his head to John to cock his gun. A few more seconds . . . and . . . AUGH. LIGHT. BURRRRNS.

" Goddamn, will you flash that thing somewhere else?! " he hissed.

" Why Mr. Jackson, is that any way to treat someone who comes bearing gifts? " came a familiar, sultry, yet tired voice.

" . . . Marina? " he asked as her figure came into view. What was she . . . A bio-hazard suit? Oh, they had bags with them. Them? He peeked around Marina in the suit and saw a smaller girl . . . What was her name again? Hilda . . . Hima . . . Hayden . . . Heidi. That was it.

" Would you boys be ever so kind to carry these? It has been a long trip and I am rather tired. " Marina said, and Harley smoothly flicked his knife into his pocket and motioned for John to put his gun away.

" Nice to see you're still kickin'. " he said to Marina, grabbing the bags they held out. He was about to ask what was with the suit, but Bernie got to it first, and the girl replied, " . . . You got radiation poisoning? " he said cautiously. The surface must have been pretty bad. He looked to Bernie, then to John.

Sighing he motioned for the two girls to follow, " We were just heading back to camp anyway. " he told them, and began to walk. " If you've got medical supplies, The Doc'll probably want to see them. Little Welder's on the death bed for the time being, so maybe you've got something that'll help? " he said with a shrug, walking. He was exaggerating. Things down here had made him a little more cynical, but they were mostly alright.

Though, this meant they wouldn't be able to go down the other path yet. They'd have to drop off the girls and then go back. From what he could tell, it was still pretty early in the day so they'd be alright on time. After another walk that seemed like hours, they arrived back at camp with Kallisti pointing her bow at them.

" Alright Huntress of the Mighty Forest, " he said sarcastically, " it's just us. We picked up a couple of waywards. "

" . . . Marina? " Kallisti said, moving out of the way for the small party.

Harley laughed and then went to Elliot, " Think they've got medical supplies in there, might wanna check. " He turned to John and Bernie, " As for us, we should probably head back out to check that other path, eh? "

"Here my sister, do try to save this, we are left with a very few rations." Temperance couldn't decide whether this Laurence guy was equally or more annoying than John, however, he had been helpful in taking care of her. That Olivia girl Cherno had gone through so much work to help was rather useless in this situation given the fact that she had somehow turned into a bird. She was too sick to comprehend that concept. Temperance was starting to think it was just the fever causing delusions. It sounded more likely. As the water reached her parched throat, it was almost like it disappeared on contact. The fever was causing to disappear in her mouth before she could even swallow it down. She wanted more, but being greedy wouldn't help anyone.

"Thanks," she choked out. Temperance rested her hot head on his knee. Her throat still felt like it was on fire, as did the rest of her body. They needed to find a better place to take refuge. They couldn't keep hiding out down here. Footsteps sounded above on the stage and she quieted her breathing and her green eyes narrowed on the roof above them. "Someone's... up... there..." she whispered. Her chest moved up and down slowly under all the blankets and costumes. She was getting hotter and hotter. All she wanted to was to get better so that she could be more useful. They needed to leave. What is everyone else doing?

"We were just heading back to camp anyway." Harley informed them as they began to walk. "If you've got medical supplies, The Doc'll probably want to see them." The Doc? "Little Welder's on the death bed for the time being, so maybe you've got something that'll help?" he said with a shrug, walking. Welder? Did he mean Theodore? Oh no. What could have happened to him? She wished they would walk faster. Marina wanted to see Theodore. Was he really that bad?

They walked for what seemed like forever. They had been fortunate to run into Harley, John, and the German girl when they did. Their camp was rather far away. They arrived back at site with Kallisti pointing her bow at them. "Alright Huntress of the Mighty Forest," Harley said to his cousin sarcastically, "it's just us. We picked up a couple of waywards."

" . . . Marina? " Kallisti said, moving out of the way for the small party.

"Kallisti, it is a pleasure to see you again. I am glad you are well," she said softly inside her suit.

Harley laughed and then went to Elliot, "Think they've got medical supplies in there, might wanna check." Ah--so that was whom he meant by Doc. It seemed fitting. If Marina had not been so tired from her four days of no sleep and constant exertion of energy, she probably would have laughed. Harley turned to John and Bernie, "As for us, we should probably head back out to check that other path, eh?" The blond German girl seemed to nod quietly before turning on her heel back in the direction to which they came.

Marina moved to Elliot who was sitting beside Theodore's unconscious body. This looked bad. She sighed sadly and crouched down beside him. "Elliot, I brought you a present." She motioned to Heidi to bring over the backpack with the crowbar in it. The younger girl obliged and set it down beside Marina and opened it up. Marina rifled through the inside, but the suit hands were too big. "Heidi, can you get out those things I told you about?" She nodded and dug through until she pulled out a bottle of hand sanitizer and a sealed package with a medical mask inside. She handed them to dark-haired boy in glasses and pulled out one of the blankets from a duffel bag, sitting down on the other side of the hall.

"There is lots of food and drinks in the bags, along with a few blankets and medical supplies. There are bandages and salve for anyone that still has burn injuries. I will need to change my bandages soon, but I do not expect anyone to help me do so. I would not wish for any of you to get sick. I will go down that way a ways before I take off the suit." she told the others. Marina slipped her arms out of the sleeves and rubbed her eyes. She was so very tired. Her blue eyes darkened as she watched Theodore's sleeping body. "Elliot, do you know what is wrong with him? I brought plenty of different medicines, but I know Antilum has lots of experimental medicines. If you tell me what he needs, I might be able to go fetch it for you." She glanced around the room at everyone that was present. They seemed to be missing someone. "Where--where is Benjamin?"

John had no gun. Just the shell, after all,he felt more likely to shoot someone then help them by firing a gun in such a small and dark tunnel. Well at least this part seemed small. He watched and waited, body tensing as he drew into the shadows, taking Harley's warnings to better hide himself and ready his blade. It made him feel like some kind of nnja. EEw.

Oh, it was just the girl who stormed off earlier, he thought. And someone else, smaller. Another mouth to feed. He pursed his lips, was she in the suit to spare them? He didn't know enough about germs to properly freak out but he was anyway. It took deep breaths of air to gingerly deliver her things to camp, maybe Elliot could make some kind of radiation vaccine for them before they found a way out. He dropped the bags gently to the floor, only because she called them 'gifts'. So he put a modicum of care into putting them down. He stayed away from the new coming women and agreed with Harley.

"Yes. We should keep exploring while we aren't tired."

    ++++++++++++++++++

Thomas smiled down at his little self appointed charge and his blue eyes sparkled. Maybe she had been in so many awful situations that she could only explain her true self in similar situations like this one and ones in her past. He pushed down the nagging thought that said otherwise and he listened carefully to her words. Basically, he trusted Madeline, he gave her the truth. And so did she, right? So he believed her and empathized with her when she said she didn't trust anyone. He let her finish before finally saying back."I know what you mean about not feeling to comfortable with this crew. I feel like Quin has been glaring at me...but I can never catch her doing it. Just like...in the corners of my eye or something. I dunno, maybe this place is getting to me." He pulled his glasses down and squeezed her hand back gently, she was being so different in her physical affection. Endorphins flooded his system and he couldn't help but smile down at her. Nagging thoughts were brushed aside and he shoved the chip bag down into his pocket. A Thomas and Madeline against the world type of thing. He thought that was what she was proposing. He liked the sound of that. Well part of it.

"Silly! No way will I just..abandon these guys. I mean I care about you and everything. But if I can help them and make sure you're safe too, I'm going to do that. Besides, what can we do together to like..when the game? Or help win it anyway...do you have a plan Maddy?"

They finally left. Good. He hoped they found useful things, and food. Food would be wonderful. The moment they came down here the whole three meals a day deal was taken off the table. They were going to starve at this rate. No question about it, really.

The only thing there was left to wonder was who would eat who first. He was physically weak, even more so now without any proper exercise. He stashed things to fight with, but still... The strongest would either kill the rest or be targeted first. If he were to go after any of them it would be-

It was rather faint but he swore he heard his name being called. He had imagined people coming here before so it was ignored until the group returned with a few extra guests.

He stared in disbelief before stuttering out a greeting for Marina. His opinion on her was shaky still, yet it was a bit relieving that she still lived. However that relief grew at the sight of her gift which brought upon a smile. "How wonderful," he stated, cleaning his hands and most of his face with the sanitizer, though decided to put off using the mask for a bit. It was amazing how he had not gotten sick from his time down here, especially when his immunity system never really had the chance to form past his childhood so it might have been best to let it do so while it still could. Though the moment they decided to return to the surface it would be used.

Theodore's problems were more pressing at the moment though. And while Elliot knew enough, it was hardly his place to say anything about it. However, naturally, he explained how the vial of medicine looked and all the locations where it might be.

"Any other medicine you can find should be grabbed too, naturally... I-if there's room, anyway. Anything of use, really."

Her next question could not be answered by him for he had forgotten what happened to his old room mate. He wasn't here, was he? Haha, probably dead. Dead, right? He wasn't sure. And if he was ever sure he had forgotten.

After making sure that the others were well situated, Harley started walking down the tunnel again with Bernie and John in tow. Now that they had found that there was pretty much nothing ( so far as they knew ) down the right tunnel, it was time to try the left and hope that they came across something useful. If they didn't find more supplies soon . . .

Again, they came to the fork in the path and Harley didn't bother pausing to look at the others, his direction turned to the right corridor and he was walking down it. This tunnel was oddly large compared to most of the others, which were just open enough for walking space. He almost felt like a . . . a truck could drive through these halls.

On the thought, his footsteps began to quicken. About twenty minutes later, there seemed to be a relatively bright light ahead and Harley stopped to observe it for a long moment. Was there someone down here? He reached for his knife and slowly began to walk towards the light. Why else would there be lights down here if it wasn't for anyone else? His heart rate began to steadily speed up as they reached a corner.

He motioned for the others to stop while he sidled against the walk towards the edge of the wall, around which the light was shining brighter. Cautiously, he poked out his nose, and then his cheek, and then more until his neck was hugging the corner. The space after the corner was . . . like a small warehouse's inside. There were lots of boxes and other things, but sitting to one side were three trucks.

    Storage trucks.

Before he let his excitement get to him, he gazed around the area a little more, scouting for any other people that might be there. When he saw that the coast was clear ( hopefully ), he signed to Bernie and John for following. His footsteps were quiet and careful as he made his away across the open room, keeping his eyes peeled for any other movement besides theirs. After what seemed like a long eternity, he reached the trucks and took a peek inside one of them. Empty. Perfect.

" Wonder if they've got keys. " he said to the others, looking around. He reached for the handle of the door, and to his surprise, it opened. " Not locked. " he said, slightly suspicious. He then climbed inside and began to search for keys, leaving the door opened, " Help me find keys, " he said, " then we can see if there's anything in the back. More supplies would be great. "

Thousands of things that should never be said to anyone scrolled through her mind. Her hand had dropped his the moment he had finished his second sentence, and her arms folded across her chest. She was happy it was so dark in here. Thomas couldn't see her scowling at him. Typical little bitch. If he wasn't solely for her, then he was against her. That was that. Fuck the rest of these whiny, arrogant, useless little assholes.

She had been done with the whole 'team-work' thing as soon as they managed to fuck up the summoning. How? By completely ignoring her. Stupid cunts, Thomas included. Of course he would vomit his hero-complex bullshit all over her. In her head, she mocked him, but only until she was calm enough to speak again. She ignored his prompting for her plan. Like hell she'd tell him now!

"...I don't trust them, and If you do, then I don't trust you either, Thomas. I do not share your 'all in this together' attitude in the least...I hope you'll keep your mouth shut, at least."

She turned on the heel of her sneakers and left the storage area, ignoring the new comers and taking a seat again on her sleeping bag. Fine, she was alone here, and that was okay. How nostalgic. Slowly, she felt whatever had began to change earlier in this game revert.

Madeline kept her angry green eyes on the one called Elliot.

"Any other medicine you can find should be grabbed too, naturally... I-if there's room, anyway. Anything of use, really."

He clearly didn't know what he was talking about. Babbling fool. Why would he have waited four days to mention something about a magical vial of medicine that could save his friends life? What kind of person was he?

Harley, blonde stranger, and John headed out again. Madeline hoped apart of the tunnels collapsed on them. Would make her plan easier.

When Harley came back with the others, there were two more . . . Marina, and a smaller girl with her. Vanille kept her quiet but pursed her lips. Of course she wanted to be able to feed them, and she was more than happy that they were alive, but their supplies was . . . stretched thin enough as it were. She began to calculate and ration their supplies in her mind; earlier, she had told Quin they had enough for one weeks, but with Marina and the other girl joining them . . . Seven days went down to four.

Oh. It seemed they had food and other supplies in the bags. Make that five days.

    She sighed.

Over to the side, out of the majority of attention was Little Principessa and Tommy, whispering to one and other. Aye, cap'n, there seems to be a mutiny a-brewin'! She giggled to herself at the thought then figured there was nothing to worry about so long as she kept and eye one them.

Where - Where is Benjamin? Marina asked.

Vanille looked around at the others, calling the name Benjamin to her mind. Oh, right. He wasn't down here with them. For the last four days, there hadn't been a trace of him, either. Was he dead? It was hard to say for sure since none of them had been to the surface. He could still be alive. With all of those bombings? Not a chance. She frowned.

He's not here. she said calmly, He might be somewhere else, hiding out. She wanted to leave it at that, really, she did! But with their super bleak situation . . . She wanted to tell no lies and what was most probably the truth. He's probably dead.

She bit her lip, not waiting for the reaction and turning her tattooed back on the others. Hopefully, Harley, John, and Bernie's trip was fruitful.

Bronagh felt for whatever was in her arm, and was relieved when she felt it's shape. It was not a knife like she was expecting it to be. Rather, it was a really sharp rock. Perhaps the person with the knife was aiming to knock her out with the rock and it instead stuck into her arm?

When she found a way under the stage she got under as quick as she could. She heard more footsteps above her and was afraid it was the insane person with the knife or possibly worse. She didn't bother to look around because she was so absorbed in listening to the footsteps she could have someone standing right behind her and she wouldn't know it.

She fixed her hat to hold the loose purple hair.

Marina watched as Elliot lathered up in hand sanitizer, but had surprisingly refrained from using the face mask. She shrugged and a yawn escaped her thin lips. Her eyes were bloodshot and tired, deep dark circles were thick underneath. How much longer could she push her body before she broke down? It was a test of preservation, and she would not give up.

He's not here.❞ Vanille said calmly in response to her inquiry regarding Benjamin, ❝He might be somewhere else, hiding out.❞ She paused. ❝He's probably dead.

Marina sighed. After what they had been through together, she did not wish for him to die. They were able to say goodbye to one another last time, and he had given his opportunity to exist to Mr. Plume, but wound up not so fortunate the second time around. His death was probably painful from the bombings. She shook her head and wiped away a single tear. That was all she would be able to shed for him. There was no time to cry. Marina listened quietly as Elliot described the vial that Theodore would need, along with possible locations that it would be found in. She nodded once, showing that she had been listening.

"Any other medicine you can find should be grabbed too, naturally... I-if there's room, anyway. Anything of use, really." Elliot was always so cute when he stuttered. She smirked and reached for one of the duffel bags, unzipping it wide and carefully dumping out the contents.

"I do hope this helps. I raided the hospital before I came. It is where I found that one," she gestured over to Heidi who buried her face under the blankets. "Elliot, I need you to do me a favor before I go back upstairs. My burns are really bad. I need the Penicillin before the infections get any worse, but my hands are too shaky to do it myself." From inside the suit, she lifted up a small glass bottle filled with clear liquid, a packaged syringe, and a sealed needle. "There is a box of gloves right here," she gestured with her elbow. "I will go clean my sores over there and discard the old bandages, but when I come back, I need you to administer the antibiotic. Then I can head back up through the elevator and look for whatever it is Theodore needs." She set the supplies down in his lap before picking up a package of gauze, ointment, a face mask, and a flashlight. "I will just be around the corner there."

She shakily pulled herself to her feet and began to walk off in the direction to which she arrived at the camp. When Marina rounded the corner, she fell to her knees. It stung, but she fought through the pain. There was no time to worry now. She needed to help the others. Even if she would not make it, she would not give up until the rest of them were tended to. Marina set the supplies down on the ground and slowly reached behind her head for the zipper. As she pulled it down, a breath of fresh air was inhaled. It was still stuffy and damp down here, but not to the extent of the inside of her suit. She was so tired, and weak. She did not even know if she could make it all the way back up the elevator shaft. Just getting there would prove to be rather tiresome. She let the bio-hazard suit fall to her hips as she began to peel off the layers. Her exposed flesh stung as strips of gauze were no longer adhered to it. The open sores were growing attached to the thin layers of cloth that wrapped snugly around her body.

When her upper body was completely exposed, aside from her bra, she squirted the tube of salve onto her palm and began to rub it around. It spread over her shoulders, arms, back, waist, stomach, and anywhere else she could possibly reach. It was difficult putting it on by herself, but she would not risk anyone else getting contaminated. Marina had to stop to cough up more blood. It was occurring more frequently now. How was there even still blood left in her body to cough up? Her immune system was growing weaker by the minute. The Penicillin would only delay the effects a short while. There was no saving her. She was sure the others already knew this, but she would refrain from saying such notions too soon. Her body was weak, but her mind was strong. She would exert her strength helping the others until she literally worked herself to death.

They had wandered back through the tunnels until they reached the fork in the road once more. This time, Harley headed left immediately. He did not wait for a response from the other two, but there really was no need for one. They walked around a couple corners until the tunnel began to widen and a light was shining down the end of one of the tunnels. Harley seemed to jump into stealth mode, and began his predator-like approach as she stalked forward in the dark. When everything seemed to be clear up ahead, he signaled for them to come forward. She came to a sudden stop at the sight before them. It was a large bunker filled with boxes and three trucks. This is what they were hoping for, right? They set out to explore and find something, and this was it. They had transportation and God knows what for supplies in the boxes. The others would be happy. It wasn't too far away. They could easily transport everything to this new section. Ideally, getting out of this tunnel system would be nice, but if the surface was as bad as it sounded, they were safer down here.

Bernie followed cautiously behind Harley as he approached one of the vehicles. "Wonder if they've got keys." he said to the others, looking around. He reached for the handle of the door and it seemed to have opened effortlessly. She was rather surprised by that but shrugged it off. "Not locked." Harley said, slightly suspicious. He then climbed inside and began to search for keys, leaving the door opened, "Help me find keys, then we can see if there's anything in the back. More supplies would be great."

She nodded, climbing into the large vehicle beside him. Bernadette rifled around under the seats and inside of the glove box. She looked anywhere and everywhere that was possible for her eyes and hands to search. Often times, she would even end up double-checking Harley's locations. Eventually she sighed, coming up empty handed. "No guud." She leaned back in the seat and stared up at the roof of the truck. There had to be some way to get it started. Her eyes drifted back down slowly, locking onto the steering wheel and dashboard. Her eyes narrowed on some sort of control panel and she pressed her index finger on the keys. "Vas is das?" If the vehicles required some sort of code to run them, they were never going to make it out of her. She sighed heavily before pulling her pointer finger back.

Temperance listened quietly as the trapdoor on the stage opened and then shut again. She didn't know who it could be. That Marina chick had only left the night before and said she wouldn't be back for at least a day or two. She had talked about getting help somehow. She wasn't sure how much to believe of the girl, but she also couldn't believe that Olivia was a bird. What had they been doing in that Domacles thing Cherno had been going on about? He was gone for more than a day during that endeavor. She shook her head. The fever was messing with her mind. She kept seeing little baby tadpoles playing basketball. Nothing was making sense anymore.

There were footsteps and breathing that didn't match Laurence or herself. Her green eyes locked on a shadowy figure in the small dark space. There was someone in there with them. She wiggled her burning body out of the blankets and weakly pulled herself upright. It was slightly cooler, which felt refreshing on her hot sweaty skin. Whoever was over there, didn't belong down here. Temperance leaned forward and picked up a shoe from one of the costumes. She held up one finger to her mouth, motioning for Laurence and Olivi-bird to stay quiet. Her hands were trembling as she tossed the canvas shoe at the short figure's back.

"Hey," she tried to shout, but her voice was a choked out hoarse whimper. "Don't belong... down here..." Temperance fell suddenly shivering. Everything had been too hot and now she was freezing. She curled up beside Laurence and closed her eyes. She yawned once before passing out on the floor.

Not paying attention to the surrounding ended up kicking her in the ass. Well, to describe the event accurately, she got a shoe to the back.
    x
Right after it hit her she found herself coughing extremely loud and the already present pain became worse. Rather than cry she gritted her teeth and looked at the room. There were two shadows she could see.
    x
    "Hey…don't belong... down here..."
    x
The voice had sounded worse than her own, and her eyes widened at the silhouettes. Well where the hell else was she supposed to go, she didn’t know someone was actually going to be down here. But her luck wasn’t the best.
    x
Although Bronagh had not walked any closer than she already was, she felt like she was already invading space. “I-I’m sorry… a- are you alright?”
    x
What a stupid question to ask.
    x
“Never mind I…” Bronagh looked away from the shadows and didn’t move. “I can leave…” she obviously did not want to, which could be seen on her face, but she didn’t know if anyone was able to see her face, so she didn’t try to hide it.
I don't have anywhere to go but I can....
