Theodore was about to get out of the elevator when the brooding guy bumped into him. He turned to Cherno and was like, where is that other kid. He yelled for him but then could not wait and descended down to the tunnels.

    Everything hurt,

The pain was dreadful and Casey struggled to endure it. He endured it to the best of his ability, because in the end it was all he could do. That dreadful moment couldn't compare to the news of Altair's death, but this was surely a close second. Awakening from his slumber, Casey Heckles' eye opened up and greeted him with the sight of the mansion he was carried in. His body was bandaged all over and half his vision was now gone. Raising up his bandaged arm he brought the hand up to the bandages that covered the left eye and closed his right with a sigh. To live without an eye and to never be able to regain it was a terrifying and traumatizing occurrence, but strangely this didn't effect him the way he thought it would. The events happening over the past few days had steeled his mind and if he wished to survive he really needed to keep it like this.

"I see you've awoken sir" said the voice of an old man dressed in a prim suit as he walked into the room

"Wallace...your the one who brought me here?" Casey asked as he glanced over at the man named Wallace. Wallace was Casey's butler that had severed the Heckles family for quite the long time. It was a surprise to see him, but then again even more of a surprise to noticed that he was in a manor.

"Indeed young sir, your father entrusted you to me and told me to make sure you are safe from harm. When I found you, you were quite wounded, I dare say you were close to death itself. Luckily our finest managed to help you. Precautions have been taken place and those that wish to offer you up are still blindly searching for you" Wallace said walking up to Casey as he began to change the boy's bandages.

"I see...thank you Wallace" Casey said as his bandages were changed. "Where is my mom and dad?" Casey asked cringing in occasions when the sting of the wounds entered his body.

"......your father and mother wishes to visit you, but certain events have occurred and he cannot make it" Wallace said closing his eyes as he finished wrapping the bandages. "there, I've taken the liberty to seek out any of those who were on the list. If they need anything, here is where they will be able to find it" Wallace said as he rose to his feet "With that I shall take my leave" Wallace said giving him a bow

Watching Wallace leave, Casey decided to sit up from his bed. Immediately pain filled his body upon the mere action, but Casey endured and slowly stood up. Noticing a cane placed by the side of his bed, Casey decided to use that and walked forward. Casey continued to walk forward and merely stared at the mirror nearby. His eye was gone and he could only stare at the bandages that covered it. His appearance itself had changed from so long ago, from the pink hair to his black. His long braided hair had now been cut out. Everything had changed, but he never forgot the person who he was before. If dying meant being erased, then he merely would fight for his existence. He would definitely not fall here.

She walked with a soreness all over her body, and an extremely sharp pain in her lower leg every time she walked. She was really lucky, when the roof had fallen in her room she had rolled off the bed just in time. If she hadn't moved in the quickness she had, both of her legs might have been broken or even sliced off. Her right arm wasn't as lucky, but she did not break it, she had an extremely large cut that had her lose a lot of blood. There was someone in the dorms at that time helping people out with injuries regardless who they were, and she got it poorly stitched up, but selfishly had left without saying a thank you. She was also sicker than she was before, but she didn't know what was causing that at all. Bronagh was now walking in a direction she really was unsure of, but saw others walking that way and decided it was best to be with a group rather than walk aimlessly alone
    x
But even so, Bronagh was in the mental state where she had no idea what to do, she didn't know what place was best to go, and she was too afraid to ask for help from anyone around. Mainly because people were actually looking for her. Bronagh couldn't call anyone, her phone wasn't working, no phones were working. She knew that most of the others were at Antilum, but she did not know if they were currently there... or rather, if they were still alive. She wouldn't doubt it for a second.
Within the past 4 days she had stayed on school grounds in the dorm section, and still was there, although she did not interact with anyone. She figured that had to have been the smartest thing at the time considering she was way worse off then than she was now. She figured that was the best time to get the hell out of the dorms though.
    x
Bronagh took a false step and collapsed to the ground, she would have cried out in pain if it were any other time or situation but she did not want to draw attention to herself.
    x
Okay Bronagh, think. You need to just stop, and think for once about the important things going on, not push them away.
    x
This city was bombed, and this isn't lightning, so it is more likely to strike twice. People are currently leaving the city, and at the same time looking for us. What oh what is the safest thing to do right now? Get out of the city? What do you do during a bombing? I know what to do during fire drills or lock downs but we, or I, have never had ground-zero training.
    x
The first thing she found herself doing was pulling her hat off and throwing it. She pulled her hair in front of her face to stare at her purple died hair. How stupid of her, how many people in Coy have their hair dyed purple. She wasn't about to cut off her hair, mainly because she didn't have a knife available.
    x
Bronagh instead stood up and walked back over to the hat she had thrown and tucked all her hair inside her hat. If hats weren't a common thing she wouldn't have kept it on, but almost everyone she knew had at least one hat, and a couple people around also had on hats.
    x
Bronagh watched as a military truck drove by, a couple of the aimless wanderers like herself waving at it and shouting for help, but they kept on driving. She closed her eyes and shook.
    x
Anyone, somebody else... please, I need somebody.
I don't want to shut myself out and be alone anymore...
    Please...
For once in my life, I don't want to die.

Four days. Theo was sick. Their supplies was slowly running out. The tunnels were too damned confusing without a map, though they'd managed to stay relatively un-lost. What they would run into next was a complete mystery, and without their guide, who was sick and practically dead, they had no real way to know if they were on a good course of survival or not.

Harley wondered how the people who weren't underground were doing. Surely, some people had died in those first four bombings when they came down here. Since all of the phones were dead, no one outside could be contacted.

He sighed as they were sitting against one of the tunnel walls while taking a short rest. They were all pretty calm, but it wouldn't be this easy for long. Pretty soon, they were gonna be picked off, one by one, and then what? Since their supplies would be out within a matter of time, some of them were just going to have to sacrifice.

Harley already had plans. He was a planner, a complex thinker and manipulator, but other than strength and skill, he was no real use to their survival. Theo could easily take his place since he knew the underground better and seemed to be good in making plans. Harley's usefulness would run out its course soon, and then he'd only drag the others down.

He already knew that, and was prepared to take steps to remove himself from the picture. No suicide was one of the rules, but he'd already talked it over with Vanille. She didn't like it. He didn't like it. And they were keeping it a secret from the rest of the group. When he was done, she would do him in. And he was fine with that; he'd already made his peace with the decision.

" We should get moving again, soon. " he said to the others, " Elliot, how's Theo's condition? Any chance of him being alive and useful again? " The faster Theo got better, the sooner Harley could get out of here.

John couldn't think about the bombings, because they sounded close, if they were close enough to send tremors and be heard dropping, then they were close enough to hit home, or somewhere else equally devastating, and if they hit home then they hit the one person he had left. And no, he could not bear that right now. And so, he worked, helping Elliot out when he could since keeping Theodore around was the highest option of getting out the tunnel system alive, he put most of his focus into it. He glanced up and down the dark halls as he took a break against the storage room walls. Darkness up and down, the light above them was barely cutting it. They need a way out and bad.

His ear pricked up when Harley spoke, the blonde boy was right. Sitting around here until their supplies ran out was not going to cut it. Getting lost was a small price to pay compared to dying. John was not ready to die again. He pushed himself off the wall and cranked up his voice to speak loudly, perfectly using the echo of the empty place to be heard, "All of us going out there into the darkness could be dangerous, we should send a little scouting party to explore the area more. And think of a way to explore without getting lost, like the bread crumb trail in that fairy tale." His brows jumped down in a frown, "But we cannot spare crumbs.. Anyway, the scouting team will get a small portion of the things we have, and report back to us when they've found a way out. Or something else extremely important." He folded his arm across his and mulled out some thoughts, but he didn't want to voice them just yet, "Since we don't know who can do what, I nominate myself to be in the scouting party. I think it should have at least three people in it. And they need to leave immediately."

He swept his arm out wide, "Questions, comments and concerns? Input would be nice." He didn't think it'd be nice at all. But someone may triumph his idea, and though that pained him, not was not the time to be...selfish. John felt sick.

When he had dressed on the first day of the bombings Elliot had pocketed a notebook and pen. Good thing, too, for it made for a useful method to keep track of thoughts.

There were so many. Of the bombings, of how to summon, and of the events he had learned about since his learning of the reality of the email. Even if he hadn't made any major strides it was a good way to pass time.

It also took his mind off of the lack of a mask and gloves and all the dirt. It was awful. No choice though. Ha...

Phones are dead. Theodore was sick. Low on food. No way out. The whole world out to get them. Haha, it was all rather great, wasn't it?

Sitting next to Theodore now Elliot was looking over his notes. The first page was some rabble about why they existed just for this game and something about if the game master existed than if that was what true existence meant.

After that was a timeline of known events then important character traits for a winner. After that they stopped making sense to anyone but him, as he started becoming stir crazy.

It was masked well, at least. In his opinion.

In any case, once Harley's voice was heard the small notebook was stuffed in his pocket and he turned to reply.

"I-I hope... Yes, he will. Has to."

A search party was mentioned afterward but he was hardly interested going into dark, small places. Looking around would probably be beneficial though, so kudos to them.

Thomas nodded to Harley's word, they should be getting a move on, but he had to make sure Maddy was safe first before he would do anything. And with that said he quietly began to speak to her, half listening to John's three manned scouting crew. "I know how much you don't like to eat but this maybe the last thing you eat for a while. Try and eat a bit more before we head out." Thomas tuned back into John's words, it sounded like a pretty good idea, too bad those first aid kits didn't have smelling salts or something made for waking fainters up. And the way Theodore randomly went out just seemed so sudden, he wondered if the poor boy had some condition or something. Or he could have been under a lot of stress before he tried to get this little gathering together.

His cell was useless, and he missed his dad. And his mother. He prayed and hoped against hope that they would be okay and just banged up. Oh he wished the hospital was alright too. He had studied the Old War stories. Makeshift hospitals were rough, especially when the are was susceptible to bombing. He just had to pray Coy City was spared or that this ridiculous bag lady keeled over. After all this was her and Crestatia's fault. She could have found them all. Well at least he assumed she could. He snapped out of his reverie.

John was done and awaiting commentary, and feed back. Thomas had none, so long as the little group would have a safe means to get back to the larger storage group safely.

Marina lifted the phone up to her face to pointlessly check for coverage. Once again, the blinking no service icon was displayed in the upper right hand corner. She sighed in frustration. It was just as she suspected, but felt it best to try anyway. The woman had not been in the spot any longer, which also was not that surprising. Now it was just a matter of where she went. However, there was no time to think about her now. Survival was more important than finding the crazy woman that started all of this.

She raised the scarf to her mouth and coughed up blood, just as she had been doing for the last few days. Radiation poisoning was taking its full effect on her. Her hair was coming out in clumps, the burns on her body were now pussy infected sores, and every couple hours she would cough up a new amount of blood. How much longer could she last? She had not slept since she woke up the morning after the first set of bombings. She had been taking shelter in random people's basements and scrounging for supplies. There was no doubt that she needed to get back to Antilum, but she would not go back empty handed. The building was one giant mystery that had a huge catacomb of underground tunnels. The rest of them would be down there somewhere. It was just a matter of finding them.

Marina slid off the side of the motorcycle in the hospital parking lot. Her parents always called Nathan wreck less for driving one, but she admired him for it. His present to her on her sixteenth birthday was riding lessons. She always thought it was silly, now she appreciated it. They were more maneuverable in this apocalyptic wasteland. That last house she was in had three, but with the winter driving, it was a scary thing. The thought of surviving all of this, only to die in a winter motorcycle accident was not appealing. She never went more than thirty miles per hour at any given spot--most of the time she was driving even slower than that. As long as it kept her alive, she did not mind. Plus, it helped her conserve her energy this way. There was no more time spent walking the streets. She could not waste what little bit of energy she had left on walking.

The Brookridge Memorial Hospital was eerily quiet. Where had everyone gone? She wandered through the halls of the hospital, with her crowbar in hand. She had never imagined herself so resourceful in times of catastrophe, but she seemed to be fairing the best she could. The hospital had underground tunnels that connected the different departments. Would there be medical staff and patients down there? It was her best guess, but she did not wish to risk running into any unnecessary outsiders. She needed to gather supplies. However, she was weak and tired. She could not keep carrying everything on her own. If she filled up the duffle bag with food and medicine, she would be too worn down to drive. There was no way she could hold it all on her own. Marina was starting to lose hope. If the rest of them were underneath Antilum, they were limited on supplies, but had to be relatively healthy. She, on the other hand, was ready to fall to pieces, but had the supplies necessary to keep going. They needed each other. She needed to get back to the others as quickly as possible.

Marina hunched forward in a coughing fit. A torn off piece of her dress was made into a handkerchief. It was covered in blood and mucus. She was starving, she had been for days. It was unsafe to eat anything that was perishable and going to the bathroom proved to be a new challenge as well. She needed to get out of the aboveground radiation. She used the crowbar to smash open the front glass on a vending machine and pulled the backpack off of her too thin shoulders. Marina unzipped the larger section and began pulling everything out of the machine that she could. Snacks were not a substantial food source, but it would help tie anyone over that had eaten little. She proceeded to do the same thing with the pop machine next door. She was making a lot of noise. Hopefully, no one would come to check on it.

She needed to find the medical closets, the pharmacy, and the biohazard supplies. They would be in desperate need. Once she reached the underground tunnels, contamination would set in unless she was in a suit. Getting the others exposed to radiation was not something she wished to do. As the backpack became filled with snacks and beverages, Marina caught the sound of a trashcan moving behind her. She turned on her heel and scouted the hallway for any sign on movement. All seemed to be quiet. "Is anyone out there?" No reply. Maybe I am starting to imagine things. How long have I gone without sleep now? It is amazing I am even functioning. She tossed the backpack over her frail shoulders. The canvas rubbed against her sweater and it irritated her skin. The burn wounds were all exposed flesh. She had tried her best to bandage them up, but needed salve and gauze.

Marina walked down the halls, checking the maps on the walls occasionally. She had to be nearing the necessary closets soon. When she turned down a hall to her left, she saw a shadow behind her. There is definitely someone following me. That was not good. She had done relatively well hiding from anyone that wished to turn her in. Marina stopped at the corner and raised the crowbar up high. She tapped her feet on the ground, to create the illusion that she was still walking. A few seconds later, a figure came creeping around the corner and screamed as she began to swing the crowbar.

She dropped it on the floor. The metal bar clattered loudly on the tile and she sighed at the sight of a small brunette in a face mask. "What are you doing following me through the hospital?" she inquired.

"I-I-I-I-I-" she kept stuttering. Marina shook her head and lifted the crowbar from the ground. As she bent down, another coughing fit overcame her body and the cloth was covered with more blood. When it seemed to end, she shoved it back in her pocket and narrowed her eyes at the girl. "I... um... I recognized you--when you were br-breaking open the vending machine."

Marina lowered her gaze, inspecting the girl. She did look familiar. Realization began to dawn on her and a remorseful sigh escaped her lungs. She was one of them. The girl seemed to be in rather fair health, aside from being too thin like herself. "My name is Marina. I am in a bit of a hurry. There are some things I need to collect here. If I give you something to eat, will you help me?"

The girl nodded and she pulled out a sealed package of Pop Tarts, handing it to the smaller girl. "H-Heidi," she mumbled in reply. Heidi walked beside Marina as they reached a medical supply closet.

"Heidi, I am going to break this door open. I need you to take the backpack from me so I can fill this duffle bag up with medicine and equipment. I know where the others are, but I do not know if any are sick like myself. Are you all right? You are here in the hospital. Do you need some kind of medicine before we leave?" Heidi seemed to nod reluctantly. What was she hiding? Marina shrugged it off for now. First, they needed the syringes, face masks, bandages, and so on. Then, they would worry about the medication and antibiotics. A loud crashing sound echoed through the hall as she broke the window and twisted the door handle from the inside.

The last few days had been miserable, mainly because there were no showers or real beds. They had found some sleeping bags in the storage area, but excluding those, they were just laying on dirt. It was cold down here, too, and smelled of mud and gunpowder. Madeline was exhausted. The only thing that brought her the least bit of comfort was the fact that there were weapons, but she didn't trust anyone not to eventually abuse that. She had to admit though, that despite her dislike for people, she was happy not to be alone down here. That would have been terrifying.

Now, on day fifty of hell, they decided to move.

Madeline didn't like the thought of splitting up. Splitting up almost always seemed to end in disaster, according to video games and movies. But Theodore was basically dead, and the trucks they had found would be very useful in exploring... Elliot, who seemed to be the closest to him, was as useless as ever. Madeline glared towards the two as Thomas approached her.

His concern was feeling more and more like being babysat, but at least he cared. Even if it annoyed her a little, she could use this to her advantage. Her thoughts went back to when he had protected her during the first explosion. Situations like that were bound to come up again, and if Thomas wanted to take a bullet for her, who was she to stop him? So she smiled and nodded and went to the cooler to grab a bag of a dried potatoes to munch on.

She had been trying to reach Temperance, but there was no service and now her phone was dead. For no logical reason, she hoped the stupid bitch was okay.

Madeline plopped down on her sleeping bag and took a gulp of water.

    "I'll stay here."

Marina helped Heidi step into the Haz-Mat suit. She had been in the underground tunnels of the hospital and received little radiation exposure. The longer she remained above ground without a protective suit on, the more likely it would become that she caught radiation poisoning as well. Marina zipped up the back of the suit and tossed a secondary one in the duffle bag. She did not wish to infect the only suit, so they would need one more for when they reached the others. The bag was filled with an assortment of medical supplies, along with Penicillin and Amoxicillin; various forms of Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen; Vicodin, Oxycontin, and Codeine; the anti-psychotics for Heidi; and whatever else Marina could fit in the bag. She really knew little on medicine, but hoped with Elliot's help they could figure out proper uses for everything.

Heidi seemed to be uncomfortable inside the suit, but did not argue wearing it. Marina had managed to get her out of her hospital gown and into a set of scrubs and hospital slippers. It was better than nothing. "I just need to take care of my sores, and then we can leave." The girl nodded quietly as Marina pulled a chair into the closet and sat down. Her body was beginning to look even worse. Patches of her skin had turned orange and the sores were oozing everywhere. She could not keep wearing the clothes she was in either. They were covered in infection. She stripped down in the closet to her bra and underwear, cleaning each of the sores the best she could. Heidi tried to assist from inside the suit, but the attached gloves made it difficult. She winced in pain as salve was applied to each of the burns and bandages were wrapped around the majority of her body. It was gruesome, but it would have to do for now.

She pulled on a her own set of scrubs and slipped the sweats on over it. It was still cold outside and scrubs would provide little warmth. Marina planned to stop at another abandoned house on the way and find something clean to wear. She stood up from her spot in the closet and smiled reassuringly at Heidi. "Time to go. Thanks for the help." She eased the duffle bag over Heidi's shoulder in the suit and tossed the backpack on her own. The motorcycle was small, but it would fit the two of them. The only problem would be finding everyone in Antilum. The faster she moved, the better.

Vanille had been doing everything in her power to make sure that they were all surviving. Since she was trained thoroughly in it, she knew there was a time and place to eat, and to sleep. Every few hours, she would take an exact twenty-seven minute nap, and when they would all sleep, she would take the middle shift in watch, taking three hours of sleep before, and three hours of sleep after.

She was going to survive this. Whether any of the others would too, she hoped so . . . She was so terrified of the thought of being alone down here . . . Vanille had known that these tunnels had existed but had only ever had extreme minimal access to them, so their layout was foggy in her mind. Theodore was their only real hope of proper navigation.

She adjusted the thick bandages that covered her chest and only her chest. The rest of her tattoos were visible to the rest of the party, but she didn't care anymore. The black tribal marks that circled her belly button and a good portion of her back were meaningful to her - not that she had any say so in when they were put. There were a few on her legs, too and on the back of her hands and wrists. Basically, she was a canvas. The others didn't say anything, though, and she was glad for that. Her clothing was minimal so that she could move around more easily, unlike some of the others.

I - I hope . . . Yes, he will. Has to. Elliot said in reply to Harley's question. She hoped so, and soon.

Weapons had been available to them and she was grateful for being able to restock on what she needed and sharpen all of her small knives and keep track of small bombs and other such things. She had made sure a proper bow was issued to Quin so that she could be of use beside keeping calm. Vanille really did want the others to live, but if their party didn't get smaller soon . . .

She looked to Harley; he would be minus one. Taking one of the team. It made tears well up in her eyes, but would let no one else see. At John's suggestion of a search party, she immediately stepped up.

    I will g -

I'll go. Harley said, cutting her off, and she frowned at him, Vanille, it'd be better for you to stay here and keep an eye on things. She looked pleadingly at him, but he shook his head, silently telling her that he was on his last limbs for this game. This game. Mom was probably dead. Everyone else she knew was probably dead. Dead. This game was terrible, terrible! She looked around; they were just a bunch of kids, trying to get by with a bag lady after them.

    Terrible.

Fine. she said with a pout.

I'll stay here. someone else said, and Vanille looked to see. Madeline. Of course she wouldn't go anywhere. Little Principessa wouldn't get her hands dirty, would she? Cagna. Well, at least she would be able to keep Quin company.

You need one more person. Vanille pointed out.

One of the few things that kept her going, was knowing that stupid bitch Madeline lied to her. She had received the message from Cherno too little too late. The bombings had already become excessive, she had already received far too much radiation exposure, and she had know clue where Antilum Labs was located. She wasn't from Brookridge, so getting around this city with no GPS, was a ridiculous thought. She coughed into one of the costumes under the stage. How great it was they came down here. The space below the stage was one of the last places she would have ever guessed to take refuge in. It was fine for now, but they couldn't stay down here. Every time she left the space to venture back outside, made her worse off. She was sick and only getting worse. Temperance had a fever. It hit within a day of the bombings and had yet to break. She had been pushing herself even with it wracking her ill. The vomiting came shortly after. She didn't even understand how she could keep throwing up. There was literally nothing left in her system. She hadn't eaten in a day and a half, and yet it never seemed to stop--just like the dreams.

She wondered how Cherno was doing, and even Madeline. If she had gone to check on him that night, she probably wouldn't be in this mess. She would have found out the dumb bitch was a liar--which she should have seen coming--and would be with the others. Were they even still alive? It was amazing she was alive. Her immune system was failing. She could feel it in her bones. It was only a matter of time before the radiation poisoning killed her--talk about an awful way to go out. Just thinking about the fact that this would be the death of her sent chills down her spine. There had to be a better option. She didn't want to go out like this, not after everything they had been through. Temperance had lost feeling in about half her fingers and toes. They were just dead weight now, something she could do without, but was too afraid to rid herself of. After everything, she wasn't going to cut off her fingers and toes. The thought was sickening enough to cause her to throw up once more.

She took a deep breath, attempting to cause the nausea--it was like being pregnant all over again, but even worse. They needed a way out. They needed somewhere safe to go. Were the others safe at Antilum? Maybe--just maybe, she could make her way there somehow.

Temperance started sweating profusely, and became rather dizzy. The fever needed to break or she would never make it. She needed to get hotter before she could get better; she didn't want to get hotter. She was wrapped up in three blankets and a few costumes from the prop closet. If she could just break the fever. . . "I need... I need water..." Her voice was quiet and hoarse. She could barely talk. Her breathing was shallow and pained. It hurt her chest to take deep breaths. Tears stung her burning cheeks. They needed to find a place to go. Cherno, are you okay out there? I'm sorry for the way I've been treating you. Please be safe.

Bernadette sat quietly on the dirty floor. The tunnels were dark and musty. They hadn't breathed in any fresh air in awhile. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but claustrophobia was setting in tremendously. She was going stir crazy just sitting here all the time. She needed to do something. Fortunately, the opportunity was finally provided. There was a slight debate over who would go scouting and it seemed like the perfect chance for her to do something worthwhile and meaningful. She didn't grow up on a farm for nothing.

You need one more person.❞ Vanille pointed out.

Bernie stood from her spot on the floor and stepped closer to John and Harley. For having been locked in an underground passageway with these people for four days, she still knew very little of them. The most she had gotten out of really anyone was their name. "All go," she replied. She had been trying to condition herself the best she could. Hunger wouldn't kill her--she wouldn't let it. They were all tired, starving, dirty, and scared. If this scouting trip could help ease anyone's fears, she would do what she could to make things better. They had to all make it out and alive. Bernadette was scared, but she wouldn't allow anyone to die down here. That sounded like a depressing way to end it. Maybe, she could also get some information as to what was going on from Harley and John on this trip. She had to try, at least.

"Ready?" she asked the both of them before stepping forward.

Vanille pointed out that they needed one more person to go, and Madeline had automatically counted herself out. He didn't know why Kallisti liked her. He rolled his eyes.

For a long moment, he didn't think anyone else was going to step up, but then the blonde German girl stood. What was her name again? He didn't think he'd caught it. She was fairly attractive, but he didn't really care about that at the moment. Oh, right. Bernie was her name. He hoped she was useful for their little expedition and that she wouldn't fall behind. It wasn't because she was a girl, he thought the same of John, too.

" Alright then, " he said, grabbing two pocket knives and flashlight that Vanille handed him and a sack of food that was just enough for the three of them, " We'll be off. Wish us luck. "

Harley nodded at Bernie and John, and then began to walk and scout the distance that they were going from their current camp to any destination they might find. It was dark, but Harley didn't want to risk their being found, so when he turned on the flashlight, he dimmed it down and tossed to other, slightly smaller ones to John and Bernie. " Make sure you don't turn them on unless we need it. " he told them diplomatically.

With the lights dim, they could barely see five feet in front of them. They walked for a long time, it felt like, but soon, they came to a fork in the path. He stopped and wheeled around at the others, " Which way do you think we should go? " he asked them. An hour had probably passed an in another two or so, they'd have to stop and eat, then get going again, and then take the trip back to camp.

Great. They were gone. At least three of them. She stood and took a few steps towards Thomas, placing a potato on her tongue and devouring it slowly. Her head cocked to the side.

Thomas had really pretty eyes, she noticed. Deep, blue, kind eyes, standing out more vividly due to his head of slightly wavy, dark hair. He was really rather attractive. It was too bad he wore glasses. They were standing so close that her hip brushed slightly against his left leg.

"Hey," her voice was low. She turned away to stare out into the darkness that the other's had disappeared into. Quintus, Vanilla, Elliot and Theodore remained. "What do you think about all of this? ...Do you think we'll be alright? You know, I'm concerned. We've been here for four days now, you know."

Bronagh felt something hit her foot and she looked down to see a small canteen filled with something. She raised an eyebrow and picked it up before she heard a scream,
    x
    "HEY, THAT IS MINE."
    x
Bronagh held out the canteen towards the person screaming, "Sorry it just rolled over towards me."
"You are lying, I am weak from all this shit going on and you thought you could steal my water while I was down huh? Well I'm not going to let you get away with that!" they pulled out a knife and held it up at her.
    x
"Woah woah woah! Calm down. Here. It is yours, take it back."
    "You think I trust you?"
"I promise you, it just-" Bronagh coughed as she collapsed to the ground, "It rolled at-" she kept coughing again and finally finished, "It rolled to me."
"Yeah and my knife was accidentally thrown at you."
"Do you have a problem or something? Take back your water."
    x
They ran at her with the knife and Bronagh moved as quick as she could to evade being stabbed. Why the hell were they attacking her? Had this person just lost it?
    x
Bronagh started to run before she felt something become lodged into the back of her arm, she then started to run faster, feeling her leg slowly start to collapse underneath her. The eventually heard a body fall behind her and assumed the person had either lost consciousness or had just collapsed. If anything she hoped they weren't dead.
    x
Why the hell were they stabbing at me?!
    x
Bronagh did not stop running though, she ran into the next building she saw and closed the door quickly behind her. When she stopped she found herself totally collapsing to the ground, crying in whatever way she could have at the time. She didn't want to cry, but she was in so much pain she could not hold anything back at that point.
    x
She didn't want to know what the object in her arm was, but she felt the canteen, half empty in her hands. She took a small sip because she didn't know how long it would last her if she chugged it.
    x
Bronagh rubbed her eyes and she whispered to herself, "What the hell kind of game this is, you said we need to survive to win, but I didn't think it would go down this road..." she dropped the canteen and continued, "If pain before death is entertainment this better be the most watched program... and I'm not just talking about me..."
    x
Bronagh looked around the room and realized she was in the orchestra hall, she tried to pull herself up so she could walk and did so, but was very unstable. Isn't there a place under the stage that would be good for at least some form of protection?
    x
She closed her eyes then walked forward, still holding the half empty container.

The motorcycle came to a sputtering stop in the Antilum parking lot. Marina killed the engine and flipped the kickstand before titling the bike to its side. Heidi had been holding onto her, rather than the handles on the sides. The sores on her body stung tremendously from the pressure, but she had to do her best to ignore it. Complaining would have done them little good and it seemed that Heidi was rather terrified about being on the bike during winter (or possibly being on it all together). She slid off the side and helped the smaller girl to her feet. Marina offered to carry the duffel bag, but Heidi insisted that she had it.

They walked up to the building in silence. It was just as eerily quiet as the hospital had been. When they stopped at a few houses to rummage for more supplies, Heidi had managed to inform her that most of the sick had died from their diseases and the staff had been in an explosion. There were only a few left down in the tunnel alive when she snuck away. The ones down there had paid her little attention. Aside from her mental illness, she was healthy and the least of their worries. Her nurse had brought her a face mask to help keep from breathing in any toxins that got below the surface.

The houses they had stopped in seemed to be just what they needed. They had gathered some different warm clothes to put on over the scrubs, a few flashlights, a bunch of candles, a grill lighter, some canned food, a can opener, and as many blankets as they could fit. The two duffel bags and backpacks were packed with supplies that would hopefully help prolong the lives of anyone left in the tunnels. Please be alive. I do not want to have gone through all this work for nothing. They entered the building through the main entrance and Marina led Heidi over to the elevators.

She did not know Antilum well, but she had seen enough movies to know that any hidden tunnels would only be accessible through the elevator, unfortunately, the elevators were not operational. "Heidi, we need to open these--" she started coughing again. Marina reached into her pocket and pulled out a fresh piece of fabric from her dress. She had ditched the scarf that was covered in blood, and found a new one to wear. When it was over, she continued, "To open these elevators. We need to find one that is not stopped on this floor." The girl looked at her confused and she pulled out the crowbar from the backpack. "These elevator shafts have built-in metal ladders for emergency purposes. We need to find a shaft where the elevator is not blocking our pathway down. We will have to climb slowly all the way down until we reach the bottom. Do you understand?" Heidi nodded cautiously before approaching Marina in the suit.

"How do we get the door to open?"

She held up the crowbar and stuck it in the crevice between the sliding door and the frame. "We need to pry it open. I need your help? Can you do that?" She nodded and grabbed a hold of the crowbar with her. Together they opened, one, two, three, sets of doors before finding one that was available. "All right, do you see the ladder on the side there?" She pointed to the left wall of the shaft and the girl nodded. "We need to jump to that. I will go first and help you over. Do you have those bags? I can take them if you want." Heidi shook her head no, not wanting to be useless. "All right. Be careful." Marina stuck the crowbar back into her backpack and tightened the shoulder strap of the duffel bag around her. This was the scary part. After everything that happened, she did not want to fall to her death. The ladder was only about a foot and a half away, but the drop seemed endless from the lobby.

She took a deep shaky breath before leaping from the entrance over to the metal rungs on the wall. Marina latched her hands onto the bars as her feet slipped. It took her a moment to catch her footing, before taking a few cautious steps downward. "Toss me the duffel bag. I will give it back to once you are over, okay?" Heidi looked nervous, but slid the bag off her shoulder and gave it a hefty shove forward. Marina winced and exhaled in exhaustion as she took on the extra weight. Her arms were shaking and she was not sure how long exactly she could hold on. She took a few more slow steps down the ladder to make more room for Heidi, before looking up at the girl on the landing. "All right. You just need to give yourself a small leap and then I will hand the bag back up to you. You can do it Heidi."

Heidi closed her eyes and took a deep breath before leaping off the ledge and onto the ladder. The rubber suit caused her to slip, not getting a good hold on the bar or footing. She knocked into Marina who only managed to hold on with one hand. The bags slid down her arm, and she used what little strength she had to hold them both in one hand. It was too much. They were too heavy and her fingers were already slipping. Her blue eyes locked onto the figure above her. "You got it now?" She was uncharacteristically supportive, but it was the only option at this point.

"Y-yeah, sorry." Heidi mumbled. She locked her feet into place on the bars and held one hand down for the duffel bag. Marina struggled to lift them up above her head so that the little girl could grab a strap. When she was free of the extra weight, she slung the bag back over her shoulder and began the slow decent down the ladder--stopping occasionally to cough up more blood.

Harley seemed to have taken on the role as leader in their scouting party. He handed John and herself flashlights, but instructed them not to use them. It was probably for the best. They didn't want to create too much light in the event that someone was down there, and they would also need to conserve on battery power. They had no clue how long the batteries would last and if they used more then one flashlight at once, they were bound to run out quicker. They walked in silence for a very long time. Her legs were growing tired, but Bernadette refused to show any sign of weakness--she wouldn't hold them back. It had no doubt been at least an hour when they finally stopped.

They came to a fork in the path. Harley stopped and wheeled around at the two of them, "Which way do you think we should go?" he asked them.

Bernie turned on her flashlight for a moment and shined it down both halls. They had to be careful. If they ventured too far in any one direction, they could lose their way back to the others and potentially die. Who knows how long it would take them to trek back or for the others to find them--if they found them. It was like a labyrinth down here in the dark. She aimed the light to the left, and then swung it to right before shutting it off. "Left," she suggested. Her electric blue eyes had lost their luster by now. She glanced between the two older boys nervously. Bernadette brushed the long tangled blond strands out of her face. She slipped the hair binder off of her wrist and pulled it back into a disheveled bun. She was a mess, but so were the others. "Vee cuud go one vay for a bit, den dah-bull back und check dee ah-thur way." It seemed like a fair suggestion. Then they would get a good sense of what was down each path.

It was hot and stuffy in the rubber suit, but Marina had insisted it was necessary to keep her from becoming physically sick. The dark-haired girl didn't look like she was doing too well. Climbing down the ladder was difficult. She just wished she could remove her hands from the suit for better grip. They were clammy and moist inside the suit. Lugging the backpack and duffel bag was difficult as well, but Heidi seemed to manage relatively well after that jumping scare. Her arms and legs were burning from the decent. At least they weren't climbing up. It had been five days since her last dosage. The effects of the medication had begun to wear off around day two. Now, she had more, but had yet to take it. She appreciated the generosity the other girl had shown her so far.

She's just biding her time deary. Look at her. She's ready to break any minute. You should take her out now before she turns on you. If she wants to win, she will have to kill everyone before she runs out of time. I'm not doing that. Why not? It would make things a lot easier for you. Look, she already gathered all these supplies. You could hide out for days. You have the suit to help keep you from being too exposed to the radiation. She was practically begging for you to off her. All you have to do is give her a little nudge and she'll fall all the way to the bottom.

Heidi took another step down and almost landed on Marina's fingers. That would not have ended well. She didn't want to do the things they were telling her, but it made sense. Of course it makes sense! We are always right. She shook her head and waited until the other girl was further down the ladder.

When they finally reached the bottom, they were about two feet below the landing to the tunnel. Marina tossed her bags up onto the ledge and climbed up. She waited for Heidi to do the same and pulled the much smaller girl to safety. "We are here," she breathed through a coughing fit. It seemed to be getting increasingly worse. "Heidi, you can get out of that suit now. This one has been exposed to the ground above. I will put it on. The other is still in a sealed package inside the duffel bag. I hope we do not have to use it, but I wish not to infect the others."

She stepped out of the suit and gingerly handed it over to the other girl who climbed inside. Heidi zipped up the long back zipper that went up all of Marina's body. She watched as the psychic ran her fingers through her hair, easily pulling out clumps of hair at a time. Would her hair fall out too? She ran her fingers through in experimentation, but everything seemed to be in place. She had never been one to dote on appearances, but she didn't want to lose her hair. "Will you help me pull out a few candles. I have no clue where the others are in this labyrinth. We will light a candle every ten paces, that way we know if we have been down a certain hallway or not." Heidi nodded and pulled out a handful of candles from her backpack. Marina did the say, bringing out the grill lighter as well.

Marina lit the first one and they began to walk. Heidi continued with the rest of them while Marina called out for the others. They couldn't be too far, it was only a matter of where exactly it is they wandered off to. "Elliot! Theodore! Kallisti! Harley! Benjamin! Cherno!" she called down the hall. Hopefully, one of them was bound to hear her. "Elliot!" she called again.

While Heidi focused on the candles lighting the way behind them, Marina focused on the road ahead with a flashlight. How long would it take them to find the others? They're all dead deary. You don't know that. Wouldn't they have answered you by now? They could be busy. I highly doubt that. She glanced up nervously at the figure in front of her. Was she making the right decision?
