The woman that Altair called mother smiled at Heidi "Its nice to meet you Heidi" The woman said as she stared over at Altair once more "Brookridge is quite the distance away so I advise you'd best hurry before it becomes dark" the woman said

"Right, it was nice seeing you again mother" Altair said softly smiled "I thank you for taking me in when I had nowhere to go" Altair said as he turn to Heidi and smiled "sorry if things are awkward, but there is just one more stop before we head off again" Altair said with a smile as he held her hand and walked on giving the woman a final wave in farewell before they soon walked off towards the coast. Letting go of Heidi's hand, Altair took off his jacket and placed it over her shoulders and then took a step forward and breathed in the cold sea air "This is the place where I last saw my family...the place that I set my brother, father and mother's ashes off to the sea" Altair said as he suddenly untied the bandana on his forehead "That woman I met took me in when I had nowhere to go and the old man adopted me soon after" Altair said as tears suddenly ran down his face "I lost...everybody I ever deemed precious" Altair said as the tears fell. His voice stayed strong but he couldn't face Heidi as he spoke. "I'm...sorry Heidi...if this is an inconvenience for you then return to the car if you want...I just need some time for myself" Altair said

You had a accident in the bathroom at the hot springs. I called the police and came with them.

    An accident? An...accident...

As she searched her memories, images flashed, but she couldn't piece it together. She went to pull herself further up in the bed and winced, her free hand--no, wrist, aching. Her heart started to beat even quicker and she decided not to look down, suddenly feeling a tremendous amount of anxiety. Now it was making a bit more sense. An accident...It wasn't an accident. There had been a voice...nudging her to... Aah, her head was spinning!

    Tch.

Her eyes lifted to John's again and she blinked, causing the tears welling up to finally drop from her eyes and travel down her round cheeks.

    Y-you saved me?

    UNFORTUNATELY. NOT THAT IT MATTERS.

Her voice was shaky, but her eyes remained fixed on his face--and on his multi-colored eyes. Lacing their fingers together tighter, Eleanora let the tears fall. She felt ashamed and like she had burdened him. She also felt scared. Scared at what had happened to her, what would happen to her--and what could happen to everyone else. She remembered now, things had gone differently before.

    TICK-TOCK, PRINCESS.

A sense of urgency possessed her. Quickly, without looking, she removed her hand from his and started pulling the thin hospital blanket off of her body, surprised they had gone so long without an interruption from a nurse or a doctor.

There's n-nothing I can say or do to thank you...I am grateful. No, beyond grateful. I just can't... She sniffled, body started to tremble with her small, stifled sobs. What was happening...? Nora began to slowly, carefully pull away the cords trailing from the machines she was hooked up to. I can't believe you're here...I'm so happy you're alive! I'm just so happy to see you again...But I don't think I can stay, John. I don't think I'm meant to be here. I don't think I'm...I don't think I'm a part of this game, you know? I'm just here for a little bit...Everything is t-temporary, and I...

    Oh no.

    HOW ANNOYING. HURRY IT UP.

Thank you so much...I-I'm so sorry...But I'm still really happy I met you!

When she was finally free (as much as she could be), she twisted her body to wrap her arms tightly around the frowning boy at her bedside. The hug lasted much longer than they did on average, mostly because no moment really felt 'right' for letting him go. Her thoughts traveled to Bernadette, and even back to Cherno and Anthony. She nuzzled her face into John's neck and squeezed him closer, trembling and clinging as tightly as she could without hurting him or herself.

Good bye, John. I love you.

She was coughing like no tomorrow as she was lying in bed.
    x
I hate getting sick... why do I have to be sick? It's always when something important is going on...
    x
She looked over to her phone, on it was the email she had received from Theodore the night before, she already had responded, her constant throwing up was keeping her from even thinking about leaving.
    xx
Bronagh covered her eyes to block sunlight and looked over to the empty bed in her dorm room. No one was rooming with her. She had gotten here the day after Zeke had saved her and gotten her cleared from being a runaway and in the end no one had shown up to room with her. She was a little sad, she would have enjoyed the company.
    x
Especially since, other than classes and a couple of moments, Bronagh was mainly being her grumpy somewhat lonely self.
    x
She closed her eyes as she coughed and fell asleep.

Marina sat down at the large conference table and looked around. She readjusted her dress in the seat and set her elbows down on the table. Theodore had called them all here, and reluctantly, she decided to go with. Things had seemed to fizzle out with both Theodore and Harley, or rather, she stopped trying. At some point in time, she stopped accepting visits with clients and associating with really anyone. She spent most of her days locked in her room studying the cards when not in class. Marina had been studying everything--the books, the cards, the runes, the stars, anything she could. It felt strange to leave the dim light of her room. She had never been to Antilum Labs, but Theodore and Elliot seemed to have a nice set up here. The nails on her right hand rapped lightly on the table as she rested her chin in her left. "I am ready to begin whenever everyone else is." She looked bored and dissatisfied. Something felt off with her and she had not been able to place what it might be.

Temperance stood in the bathroom of her dorm room and stared into the mirror. Her hands rested on her slim waistline as she gazed at it through the reflection. It was something she had begun to do ever since her hospital visit. That night still haunted her sleep. She hadn't been arrested yet, which was a good thing. Hopefully they hadn't found her father's body. It wasn't something to be proud of, but she felt she did a fairly good job cleaning it up. It was hard to shake Cherno long enough to do so, but she managed none-the-less. They had been summoned to some fancy rich person party, but she wasn't in the mood to attend it.

She was still agonizingly stuck on the fact that they had paired her with Madeline for roommates. As if being here wasn't bad enough. Temperance sighed before turning on the shower. She was running low on her supply and would have to make a trip back to Coy soon. She wondered if Madeline was still working for Reuben, but had yet to ask. It wasn't her place. She just hoped the girl wasn't bringing her work home with her. Temperance shuddered at the thought as she climbed into the shower.

Heidi was lying still in the hospital bed. Her eyes occasionally wandered to the cell phone on her nightstand, but she could not reach it given the restraints--not that she wanted to hear it again. He was wrong. Altair had been completely wrong. She wasn't strong. She couldn't take it and she treated Casey horribly when he had visited. He didn't deserve to be treated that way. She had been so cold. They had destroyed her mind. Altair was gone and they were back wreaking havoc. The only good thing about the hospital was that her drugs were so heavy she could barely think, let alone hear anything...

Bernadette sat on her bed staring at her laptop screen. She had received an email from one of the recipients of this so-called email. Bernie had declined, given that this seemed like a load of bull. Granted, her roommate had died in that massacre the other day. Daniel had been on the email and so had her previous roommate, hadn't she? Bernadette wasn't really sure what to do anymore. School had only just begun and things were already crazy. Not to mention, she had developed no friends during the two and a half weeks that she had been present on campus. She sighed reluctantly. Understanding the shool work, was by far more important at this point. There was a mountain of textbooks beside her and only half of it made sense.

Thomas didn't know a thing about this Theodore kid, and he only knew the name 'Antilum'. Never in his wildest dreams would he think that he'd be someday invited to the place, so with awe he glanced about, left then right then left again. Absorbing everything he could see, but despite the lovely decor, the place felt a little off putting, and Thomas already felt naked because he didn't bring one of his treasured cameras. Just remembering how naked he felt made him not focus on the building and made him instead wistfully focus on his tiny Philips Keychain Camera, the thing looked harmless, but it was really decent for covert picture taking. And covert picture taking would be great for this conference room that they were walking into.

He was trying to wait patiently for the others to arrive, he wanted to know and see if his old friends were still around. He hoped they were, all he knew was that Maddy was alive, and that was the greatest news. He had never seen such ergonomically designed chairs, it was really fascinating, he resisted the urge to spin around in it, but he did wheel it to the right so that he spun slowly towards the table. Once he was able to place his elbows on his table he began to take the time to sneak peeks at this Theodore character, wondering what it would be like to grow up with this place as your home.

    +++++++

John stood in the corner, he didn't want to be sitting down for this. The time had come and he clutched the eight beaded rosary that hung around his wrist. The time had come for him to come face to face with these other people, the others who were emailed, just like him. He didn't even want to think, his fury was alternating between the circumstances and the reason why he even came to this text invited thing. He watched the dark boy closely as he entered this room, there were some many things going on in this building. Too many things, too many changes. Who needed a sideways elevator? Why not beam them all up like Scotty, if your technology is sooooo advanced? He snorted, and put his mind back on the right track. Madeline didn't remember their sexual encounter nor did remember dying, but he did. However, he couldn't be the only one who retained knowledge of the...past? Present? Whatever, the point was that Eleanora...knew, she knew and remembered him. He felt the urge to sob well up in his chest and his gaze sharpened because of it. He would not lose focus, he would get what he came here to get, and that was answers. Answers for him, and answers for Nora.

It would be a lie to say that things up until this point had been mellow for Madeline. She was alive, and most of her thought that was a good thing, but things were different now. Things with Quin and Thomas had been...a little off. She felt tied up, and guilty for spending too much time with either of them now, so she spent most of her time alone. Minus the time she was forced into spending with Tempurpedic Mattress, considering they were rooming together at Brookridge.

The biggest hit, she thought, was that she had finally made it back home only to find the place nearly completely empty. Her mother had moved out, it seemed. There were no notes left for her, or traces of her to be found. Luckily, her dresses and laptop were untouched down in the basement, and the flood didn't cause any major damage to any of them. Any and all documentation needing to be signed by a parent was forged. Madeline spent a good chunk of time searching for her mother before giving up with the move to Brookridge (which was a relatively good school, if you ignored the snake thing). It still hurt, though. It made her very angry at everyone and everything including herself, reversing what ever progress she was making with controlling her temper. She was more of a hot head than ever before. She had no time for the bullshit, none of them did.

Reuben had texted her multiple times apologizing for the last time they had seen each other, but she knew it was in-genuine. He was just afraid that she'd go off and rat him out to the cops. She wouldn't do that, though. Reuben was all she had left. Him and her father, assuming he was still living. Both of her parents had become strangers to her. Without Reuben, she did not have any family.

Theodore's invitation was a break from Temperance, who was being weird as hell lately, and an opportunity. No good seemed to befall them when they met. No good and no progress. Madeline would die tonight before she would let this be another fruitless, wasted meeting.

And so she had gotten dressed up and prepared, arriving just as Theodore was leading them to the conference room. She took a seat on the right side of the table, near the windows and cast her eyes down as to not make deliberate eye contact with Thomas or anyone else.

Theodore waited, but then found himself annoyingly exasperated. If they wanted to stay in the lobby all night, fine. He let the door shut and took a seat himself, shaking off any remaining nervousness. He took a few moments to gaze at the faces around the basically empty table with a scowl before straightening his back and fidgeting with his fingers.

Ever since that meeting at Marina's, Theodore's patience had dissolved into almost nothing. He liked progress, and had lived most of his life up until now witnessing results without having to even try for them. That's why this was all very frustrating. He was not a leader, he did not think. He did not like to lead. He did not like to talk. He did not like to be the center of attention. He was introverted. He wanted to write poetry and read books and open his world up to someone special someday--only that some one special. He did not want children. He just wanted a quiet cottage in a gorgeous place with someone to love. This was not his cup of tea.

He hated this. He hated this game and everyone here. He only cared for Elliot, but lately Elliot was being ... uninterested and distant. He didn't know why, but he knew that he didn't have a close friend in this game or maybe in the world, and his only hope truly experiencing that was to win this stupid, annoying, redundant game. Rhia had told him winning was easy. Maybe you had to be selfish, but he at least wanted to try to bring everyone together. If there were all idiots with it, then in the end he'd say forget it and try to win on his own. Even if he had to kill everyone in this room. It would be easy with Antilum backing him.

He went pale. He didn't mean that, he got carried away. He wouldn't kill anyone. He...wouldn't do that.

❝...Th-thank you all for attending tonight. I know that this must have been hard for some of you, considering...things. This meeting has a few purposes, the main one being to get everyone here on the same page...It is a shame that not everyone attended, but also understandable...

He was rolled his eyes, taking a breath before continuing.

I am...going to be frank with you all, now. Forgive me for this. Let us lay out what's obvious from both the 'time travelers' and the email. We are all pieces of a game constructed by a crazy demon who is looking for a winner. If we win, we come into true existence, and I'm assuming there's much more to true existence. If we die, we simply don't exist anymore. This game is set to finish in, what, fifty-five days now? I think. There are rules we must follow. Breaking the rules results in death, from what we've seen so far...Obviously the mechanics of this game are questionable, but we'll get into that later. ...I don't care about your doubts right now. Let's assume all of what I just said is indisputable fact, alright? Alright.

These are all things that most of her have heard an annoying amount of times. I think we should all get over ourselves and just go with the crazy, meaning that if you have doubts--get over them. Forget about them. People are dying and we need to stop this. Has anyone tried to summon and make a deal with Crestatia? To be honest, that seems like the most plainly obvious key to getting some where with this whole thing, and the fact that no one has had the balls to try it is ridiculous. Assuming, once again, that we all choose to believe in this, we really don't have any time for anything else. We aren't even real. None of this is real. Devastating to think about, but that means school, work, even just hobbies ... they don't matter. They won't matter, until someone wins or changes this game. So stop wasting time.

His fingers were shaking, so he clutched his hands together on the table.

❝... Summoning, deals, time travel, declaration-power-giving, possession, body swapping, curses...all possible in this game. Oh, and other entities entering and tweaking things. So, based on all of that, what have any of us deliberately utilized so far? There have been so many twists and turns in this game and it is beyond clear--or should be--that there is more to this than just following the rules and trying not to die. If you're not thinking outside of the box by now then you are wrong and an idiot--sorry. Just. Something needs to be done. Something needs to change. What are your thoughts?

Green eyes gazed around the table. Maybe he had been too blunt -- too harsh, but it seemed like that's what they needed. He was tired. He missed Rhia. He was sick of these stupid kids.

Madeline crinkled her nose and turned her chair slightly to the side so that she could see Theodore more clearly. He seemed different tonight. Different from when they were out of the lobby, at least, and she could tell that despite how sharp he was being, he was nervous. He didn't seem like a dark person to her, exactly, but he definitely wasn't a beam of light. This reminded her of something she had been forced to study at Bellhurst. The journey of the 'reluctant hero'. Theodore had a triple dosage of reluctant. She commended him for being an asshole. Funny how he was acting like he was above it though. She didn't see him trying to summon Crestatia. Madeline wasn't afraid of the Demoness, not really, but summoning her seemed set up to backfire, and she didn't know how to do it anyway.

When he was finally through basically venting awkwardly at them, Madeline sighed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. He asked them for their thoughts. What was she supposed to say?...Nah, fuck the coy act.

"I think someone should try and summon the demon...I agree that it seems like the most logical way to do something about this, but...What are we even trying to do, really? If we end the game, don't we just...not exist? Is that really something to work towards? Before trying to make a deal, maybe we should come up with a plan. Ideally, how would we like this to be? Think about it...If we do in fact have the power to change things, what would we change them to?"

They had to be smart about it. Madeline didn't want to come across as power hungry, but it was interesting to think about having the ability to change the world they lived in. Very interesting...

Ah, right. They couldn't be reckless, could they? He settled his chin on top of his fingers on the desk, elbows propped up. Before voicing his own opinion again, he decided to wait for someone else to speak. Though, as he thought about it, he wondered just how much freedom they WOULD have with deals. It was called a deal for a reason, after all. Crestatia would want something in return.

He also found himself distrusting them. Somehow, he doubted that they could all just summon Crestatia together and make a deal. They would probably need a representative. Who's to say that whoever was chosen wouldn't throw in something like...He didn't know, bringing someone back from the dead? Or making themselves rich or something? He figured the more selfish the 'wish' or whatever was, the worse consequences. Could anyone really be trusted to make a deal beneficial to all of them equally? Was that even the point? Maybe the point of the game was to be selfish...no, that didn't make any sense. God! It was do them some good to know what true existence was like. What kind of person would Crestatia be looking for?

Whoa. Thomas did not expect that little outburst from little old Theo. But the kid had something to say and he said it. He watched Madeline come in but took the silent cue she gave when she didn't even bother to look at him. That hurt a bit, but something more important was going on than their...relationship, especially if they didn't exist. Thomas decided it was time he interjected. "She's right, we need to have some kind of plan. Having no plan always ends up making a bigger mess then the one started by one single person. We don't want Brookridge to be covered in a avalanche of snow or something like that. So before we summon an nearly unpredictable entity, we should be smart about this."

John frowned and finally decided to take a seat. Pompous boy was huffing and puffing and being pompous. He didn't see him summoning anyone so what right did he have to even talk about the Bellhurst troop like this? But John did listen though, and he had a voice of reason, John also didn't have a bone to pick with anyone here, so he was able to listen and absorb this information logically before he spoke his mind, "Even if we do make the plan and all that crap. Who or what will we give her to make her even consider the deal? We make it, then what? We have nothing to bind her to her word. We say it wrong, and she makes frogs rain from the sky because that's the context we took it in. If we do anything with her then we need to make sure she'll do what we say. And that what she takes is so minimal that it won't even matter that it's gone." He brought his gaze down to his rosary then back up to the dark eyed youth. "Does anyone even know how to bring her out?"

We don't want Brookridge to be covered in a avalanche of snow or something like that. So before we summon an nearly unpredictable entity, we should be smart about this."

Thomas spoke and Madeline cast her eyes down again, playing with the sheer fabric of her dress and crossing her ankles under the table.

"Even if we do make the plan and all that crap. Who or what will we give her to make her even consider the deal? We make it, then what? We have nothing to bind her to her word. She hadn't even noticed John. How long had it been? She shuddered and resisted the urge to just face plant the table to the side of her. They were both just basically recycling what had already been said, though. No help. No progression. This is what always seemed to happen between the 100 Days kids. Uselessness.

"Does anyone even know how to bring her out?"

Oh. Madeline lifted her chin, making eye contact with John before diverting her gaze to Theodore instead, as if he had asked the question. God, she was so jittery tonight.

"A while ago, while at Bellhurst, I did some research. It was right before the flood. I was looking up how to summon a demon, and... In addition to that research, I used to be pretty into these things myself."

Not too long ago admitting that would have never been possible for her. Now it didn't feel so ridiculous.

"Um... Contrary to popular belief, it seems rather simple. It's a matter of intense mediation. Not everyone can do it, either. You should have an offering and...open be able to open your 'spirit' up. So, a spiritual person would have the most luck. Someone open to that. There are other ways, like with blood sacrifices and silly chants, but I think trying it the simple way would be best for now. You have to take some time aside and invite the demon down. You should be respectful at all times. I am not exactly sure if it would work the same with with Crestatia, but...Yeah."

John didn't like the way this was going, and when he thought of the most spiritual person he knew, he saw sparkling blue eyes and cherubic face. "Basically, we should kill a cat. Because times wasting enough as it is. I would like to be alive in the next fifty-five days, after all. Antilum boy, you have extra things we can 'sacrifice' right?" He had caught Madeline's gaze and met it head on. He would always keep that dark night in the hot springs a sworn secret, but it would be a positive one. Otherwise, he'd let her keep being conceited and only let her remember that he let her off.

Before Theodore could answer, Madeline rolled her eyes and glared. Kill a cat. HAH. What memories. She fucking hated cats.

"I just said no blood sacrifices, idiot. What I mean by an offering is something like candles, coins, jewelry...something precious to you. Maybe that rosary of yours."

    She nodded towards it.

"Whore. I suggest you watch what you say. And that's all I even have to say to you. Besides, when the Huntress killed that girl, did the demoness not come out? I don't remember you giving her a damn candle and seeing her accept it now did I?" He clutched his rosary possessively and glared at Thomas until the boy sat back down. He smoothed his hair back into place and took quiet but deep breaths to relax again. She'd gotten him riled up. And it would not happen again.

Someone spiritual, huh? Theodore's eyes traveled down the table to the quiet Marina. She was the first person he had thought of to do something like this, but upon getting a good look at her now, he wasn't so sure. She was not as...vibrant as she had been before. Not at all. It was discouraging. They had to to be at their best for this. He would have to check on her after this meeting. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to mask his exasperation.

The blonde hot heads were arguing. He groaned.

Cut it out, children. ...Back to the matter at hand. Anyone up for summoning?

He glanced at Marina again, but he wasn't entirely close-minded to someone else trying. He didn't know all of them too well. Maybe there was another candidate?

Vanille listened intently to the back and forth of Madeline and John. They were a pretty weird couple, and she thought that they would look mighty cute together! Quin probably wouldn't like that at all - not that she liked much these days.

She sighed and played with the frills on her dress, trying to find something to say. Everything that could be said was already on the table! All this talk of sacrificing and summoning was here, but no one was going to do it, it felt like. Well, it was time to get a move on.

Well, why don't we try and summon her, now?❞ she suggested loudly over the other two, hopping out of her chair, ❝The worst that could happen is that one of us could die ~ ❞ That was true enough, and it scared her a little - she didn't want to be the one to die, and she didn't want any of the others to die, too. Not really, anyway.

It seemed no one heard the suggestion until Theodore voiced it. She looked around the room, and then looked down at her shoes. Well, if she was going to die, it might as well be from a summoning, right?

I'll do it.❞ she said boldly.

As much as he disliked it, Ben decided to go to Theodore's little conference. He he sat at the table with the others, he thought about the past month. He had grown more distant with those he considered himself to be friends with. He thought after going the trials, he and Marina would be closer, but the opposite was true. Now it seemed more like her attention was centered around Theodore. And then there was Olivia. He had no idea what was going on with that girl.
Ben's thoughts were broken by the bickering between two blondes, Madeline Moore and John Quincy. John was a prick. For a moment, he almost thought it would have been better if John had died in this timeline as well, but then he decided otherwise. He knew personally what death in this game was like. Nothing. Pure nothingness. His eyes shifted toward Marina. She was the most spiritual person he knew, but would she be willing to deal with Crestatia.
"I'll do it." The voice of the masked girl, Vanille, came up. She'd be the one to volunteer? That was certainly unexpected.

Marina could feel Theodore's watchful gaze on her as she stared at her nails. She had forgotten to paint them. How could something so routine slip her mind? She had been failing at a lot lately. They had finally come full circle. They reached the point in which she had been brought back to life. Doing everything over again was redundant and taxing. Marina listened quietly while a select few bickered back and forth. It had grown tiresome rather quickly. When Vanille stood and announced that she would do the summoning, she set her hands down flat on the table and stood as well. The feet of the chair rubbed against the floor as it slid back. "Theodore, I can see you stealing glances at me. If you wish to speak, please do so."

With a heavy sigh, her hands lifted from the table and readjusted the straps of her dress. Marina puckered her pink lips and gave him a smirk. "I will do it as well. Vanille, you said that the last time everyone was here, Mister Jackson summoned Analynne just by saying her name in front of the vessel girl, correct?" Her eyes wandered the room, but nothing appeared to be amiss. "Clearly that is not the case for Crestatia since she appears to just occupy whomever she wishes, whenever she wishes. Anthony filled me in on quite a bit of the occurrings that took place before he passed." She paused and held her temples. "Whatever happened to that girl?" She glanced around the room, waiting to see who knew.
