" I hope not another school, " Madeline said, looking displeased with the thought, " I would really rather . . . not. " Mm, yes, school did seem to be a rather dangerous place for them as of late, didn't it? Where all of the victims were gathered in on place. It was a setup begging for another incident like the auditorium.

" Also, I was . . . thinking about going skiing before heading home. Or doing something not to make this a waste, at least. "

Kallisti thought on that. She had wanted to bathe last night in the hot springs, but that had been interrupted by Harley and his foul news. Then again, perhaps he had been her savior, in some stretched, strange way. She had really not wanted to be around Temperance and her awful personality.

    " . . . What do you think? "

She looked over the rim of her ceramic cup at Madeline. While skiing did sound like a fun idea, she really did want to bathe, at least once. It wasn't that she would never have a chance again, but this trip that was supposed to be a relaxant turned out to be anything but, and it was rather frustrating and something of a let down.

Madeline did not have to go with her, but she would have preferred it. Then again, the thought of anyone seeing her legs made her shudder. She was surprised that she held together so well last night in the presence of Harley. Her figure was nothing to be ashamed of, but the scars, rather, were.

Her face turned a pale shade of red.

The more she thought on it, the less appealing bathing became. Ah, how annoying, letting her self-consciousness get to her like this. Or rather, her shame. She would not let it have its way this time.

" I think that I might like to take a dip in the hot springs for a while. " she replied, finally, " We are not set to leave for a few hours yet, so we have time. " Of course, Madeline didn't have to come with her, if she didn't want.

YOU'RE A RIOT, YOU KNOW THAT? . . . Pardon? JUST TELL HER YOU WANT HER TO COME WITH YOU. But . . . What if she does not wish to? IT'S WORTH THE SHOT. C'MON, WEREN'T YOU THE ONE THINKING ABOUT HAVING A PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP WITH HER? Stop that! I'M SERIOUS! Even so, please do not tease me . . . AHG. FINE. YOU BETTER ASK HER TO COME ALONG THOUGH, OR I'LL SMACK YOU SILLY. Kallisti almost outwardly laughed, but caught herself just in time.

    " . . . Would you like to join me? "

Harley made his rounds that morning, finding that there'd not been any deaths.

That was, until the ambulance arrived. He had quickly scoured the hotel, searching for the candidates for death, but found that none of them were dead. Maybe it was another hotel guest. Trouble seemed to follow the email victims wherever they went though, so he had his suspicions.

Only a small commotion was made as he watched the events unfold. It was that girl, the one Vanille said was the vessel to Analynne - and with her was John Quincy. Had he killed her? Or . . .

He made a mental note to check what had happened later.

He thought back to last night, in the hallway where they had met Madeline. There had been another girl whose room was on that same floor. She was . . . vaguely familiar, and Harley felt a little sad when he saw her, but quickly shook the feeling off as a side effect of . . . 'time traveling'. He was, though, tempted to ask for her room number, but since they didn't know each other at all, that'd be a bit strange.

. . . Not that he hadn't been taking all room numbers of the email victims down for future reference.

While talking to a girl that he'd met around the ski resort, his phone range and he looked at the number. Oh. Dear god. Why. He excused himself from the girl who pouted slightly and held the phone up to his ear as if it were a bomb.

" How is my favorite grandson? " came the voice that was poisoned honey.

" Hi, grandmother. " he said curtly, and she laughed.

" Everyone is always so short with me, tsk, tsk! " But she wasn't pleased with it and he could tell, " I only ever call to check up, and everyone behaves as if I'm handing them a death sentence! "

    HMM, HE WONDERED WHY???

" What'd you call me for, Lorinda? " he said, having little patience.

" I just though I might let you know that you and your little schoolmates are listed to attend Brookridge, the school I'm the headmistress of. "

    Oh, that was just wonderful.

" You should all be getting your notices in a few days, but aren't you excited? " No, he wasn't. " I've been missing you and my little Kallisti dear. My only grandchildren, and now I'm able to keep a close eye on the both of you. " Why did that sound so scary? " But anyway, enough with the small chitchat. Peter tells me that one of my students is at the hotel with you. " she said, and he looked in the direction of the dining hall, as he had walked into the lobby of the hotel during the phone call.

" Yeah, what about them? "

" Make sure she doesn't get in any trouble, she's a rather suspicious character, but she's under my wing as she attends the school. " Lorinda explained in a serious tone, " That's all for now, Harley. I'll be waiting to see you first thing when you arrive on campus. "

    Click.

Harley rubbed his forehead. Kallisti wouldn't like this.

Bronagh listened to her carefully, the words Marina had said she had heard come from her... they sounded like words she would say, but they were words she probably only would have shared with a good friend of if she was under a lot of stress.
    x
Bronagh wasn't usually very open to how suicidal she was when she was younger. The last time she felt that bad was... when she was thirteen? So two years ago. But she did not quite know the entire situation that she had said those words... if she really had said those words.
    x
Marina... I trust you more than I probably should at this point.
    x
"You made no other mention of familial status that I recall. Is there something you need to get off your chest?"
    x
    YES.
    "No... no I'll be fine."
    Why do you lie?
"...What does a real life feel like?"
    x
Bronagh actually laughed for a moment, although it was quiet. What interesting words now that she was thinking about that part, Her words got quieter after every part spoken, "Is this not a real life? The moment we live in right now, what we do with the time we have. Sure, however brief it may be you would think... I know what a real life feels like... huh..."
    x
Bronagh finally just stopped talking as she shook her head. Her hair moved from the front of her face so the small indent on her head showed, at least a tiny bit of it. "Sorry, I ramble... I think too much about things..."
    x
Everyone always said I got it from my mom...

"hmmmm breakfast, that sounds like an excellent idea" Altair said as he finished tying the knot of his bandana and closed his eyes with a smile. "We still have some time over here so lets make the best of it" Altair said with a grin. He noticed something was up with Heidi and just couldn't put his finger on it. Was that nervousness she felt? whatever it was she seemed to be happy and in turn that made Altair happy as well. With their plan set, Altair and Heidi began to march out of their room and head towards the dining hall in order to gain some food. Along the way Altair bought some souvenir clothing for Heidi in the nearby gift shop. It wasn't necessarily clothes she could wear all the time, but it was warm and definitely far better than the clothes he gave her to wear.

Eventually the two reached the dining hall and too the teens surprise he noticed a pair that was all to familiar to him. The two girls Quintus and Madeline both sat together and seemed to be having a pleasant conversation. Quintus was nice to talk to, but Madeline...though the glares she gave him were admittedly humorous, he never meant to purposely upset her. His good will always seemed to lead to negativity and in the end he felt maybe it would be better off keeping away from her. It was probably rude to not say hi, but at the same time it was for the best. If they did pay him mind he would merely pay them back with a friendly smile and nod back.

"well then order whatever you want, don't be shy now kay?" Altair said turning his attention back to the girl that accompanied him. Money was never an issue with Altair. The old man was rich and Altair had far more money than he ever needed, but he was never one to spend much unless he was treating somebody else.

    Cherno awoke.
Ugh ... his head. That dream. What a stupid dream. How long was it?
The sun, from the window, seemed beyond the point of noon. How long had he been out? ...

Cherno rubbed his eyes and stepped out of his bed.
    Oh.
    Oh ...
    Were they still here?

A massive headache crippled his head today.

Heidi was grateful to Altair as he bought her a new outfit in the gift shop. It wasn't much, but better than anything she would have asked for. Without wearing the children's clothes, the smallest sized shirt was still too big. She hid that under a black sweatshirt, happy to have something cover her arms. The sweatpants were rather baggy and she had to bunch it together at the top with a safety pin she got from the clerk. Overall, she appeared to be swimming in their souvenier clothing, but she didn't mind. As they passed through the lobby, she noticed that blond boy from yesterday talking on his cell phone. He appeared rather annoyed with whomever was on the other end. Heidi looked away from him bashfully afraid that he might notice and stuck close to Altair's side.

When they entered the dining hall, she couldn't believe how large it was. She had never eaten somewhere so big. Heidi thought of the tiny room her aunt always kept her locked away in and the tv dinners she ate off of a small tray in the corner. She furrowed her brow and attempted to push the thought away. "well then order whatever you want, don't be shy now kay?" Her chocolate brown eyes looked up at him surprised. She had never been told to order whatever she wanted. Heidi suddenly felt rather selfconscious as she went through the line to pick out something to eat. A few tables away, she noticed the two girls that had been with the blond guy. They all looked rather upset last night. Hopefully they worked out whatever it was that was bothering them.

"Altair," she started softly, "did you ever figure out wh-why things feel weird?" It had been bothering her since they arrived, but Heidi had tried her best not to let it get to her. Something didn't feel right inside. That's for sure. Now hurry up and eat so we can gooooooo.

John made the sign of the cross with his body and prayed for strength as he churned his legs to keep up with the fast pace wheeling of the gurney. He knew little to nothing about the words they were calling out. But he did hear something about a blood transfusion. He didn't know what that was, but if they were willing to try it. It mean he wasn't too late. She may have a good chance! He would have to ask a doctor about her survival rate. His heart soared anyway and his eye sockets began to feel heavy, but he subtly shook the crying feeling away. He had to stay strong, at least for now anyway. He gazed down at the little girl. One of his few friends in this huge world. He would stay with her till the end after this. Assuming that he didn't get weak and die. Again.

She was finally wheeled into a room and he was pulled to the side of it. He was then grilled. Who was he in relation too her? Elder brother? What was her blood type, did he know? Where were there parents? Why were they alone? Was he okay? Did he know anything about his sister's medical history? How old was he? What was his blood type? And his parents? Did he need a phone to call them? If his eyes had a special super power, they'd be activating right now. He cranked up his glare to one hundred percent and was kindly told to wait outside. He adamantly refused and so he was removed into the hall. Luckily there was a bench right across from her room. A little indention in the wall, with a snack machine inside it, right beside the bench. He settled on the bench and stared intently at the door. Should he update his mom? What lies would he feed her? John sighed, keeping friends was becoming too complex and tedious. His gazed stayed on the door till his eyes drooped, his mouth moving silently and subtly in prayer as his fingers were clasped together, and the red beaded rosary was produced and held in his clenched fingers. Wait and pray. Just wait and pray.

Or get up and find a way to help and speed up this blood transfusion. He yawned throughout his prayer, his eyes stayed closed as he leaned back against the wall behind his little green bench. He didn't know when praying turned into exhausted sleep. But it did.

Anthony provided little information as to why he was at her door. The best he could muster for some odd reason was that some strange chick named Marina wanted them all to come to her house in Brookridge and that there were cars waiting outside for them. Why on Earth would she do something so stupid? That was just asking for trouble. The sounds of sirens whirled throughout the resort and people were being ushered out of the hall that the paramedics went to. She wondered what happened. They did say that both she and Madeline were supposed to die. Maybe Madeline had ended up screwing up anyway. It wouldn't surprise her. Stupid ass blond. She rolled her eyes before finishing packing up the few items she had in the room and stuffing them inside of the backpack. Temperance carried them all down with her having no intention on going back to that room.

She was now left with two options as she entered the dining hall to grab something quick to eat. She could go with on this crazy adventure to Brookridge, or visit her father. Neither sounded ideal, but she couldn't go back to her house. With how badly it was flooded, no doubt the power was still out. There was no real reason for her to go with to Brookridge other than to continue to avoid her father. She had no friends in this game and the one person she may consider a friend was not someone she should be spending an extra amount of time with. Friend. . . that reminded her, she never checked to see what Lindsey wanted. Temperance sat down at an open table and pulled out her phone. There were half a dozen missed calls, a voice message, and about a dozen text messages. The bitch was annoying, that's for sure. Begrudgingly, she flipped through the texts. They all said to check the voicemail and call her back immediately. What could be so important? With a heavy sigh, Temperance glanced around the room and dialed 1 for voicemail.

Before Harley walked into the dining hall, he had seen that girl that he'd been thinking about before. She was with Altair, and for some reason, that didn't please him. He decided to follow the two of them into the dining room, which had seemed to become the place where they all would congregate.

Madeline and Kallisti were sitting at a table, Altair and the girl had found a table, Temperance was checking her phone at a table, and then at the far reaches of the large room was Vanille. Deciding not to chance a speaking with the girl that caught his interest, he left to sit with her.

" Do you know Marina Sario? " she asked him brightly as soon as he sat down with a plate of ace breakfast foods.

    Sario . . . " I don't know her. But her father's a senator and her mother is a socialite. " he explained, " Why? "

She leaned forward, and Harley saw something on her face he hadn't noticed before, a mark that looked like a cross between a branding and a tattoo in the shape of an 'x'. Before he was caught looking for too long, he returned his attention to her speaking.

" I was talking to her on Tumblr, " she started, touching her cheek and covering up the mark, " She wants us all to come to her estate. "

    He raised an eyebrow, " . . . Why? "

" I think she remembers, too. But she was dead before the time jump, maybe she wants to talk to all of us? "

I was talking to her on Tumblr,❞Vanille started, touching her cheek. She couldn't believe Harley looked at it! She was afraid to know what he thought of it, so she covered it up with her hand . . . ❝She wants us all to come to her estate.

Harley didn't say anything about her movement. . . . Why?

Vanille shrugged. Why would she want them all to come? That sounded like a reaaaaaally bad idea. Marina didn't seem very bad, though. She'd seen her at school a few times and found that she was really interested in divination, but she didn't like girls. She was also a sexual deviant, which a lot of other girls around campus didn't like, and Vanille didn't really like it either, but since she never had to put up with it, it was okay.

She looked around the room and saw SatAltair and Harley's lady-friend, who he had tossed a few glances at while they were talking. She didn't tell him about her, but maybe he felt something in remembrance?

Impulsively she grabbed Harley's hand and dragged him up, barely hearing his protests and questioning as she dragged him over with surprising strength to the table where the two other's were sitting. She let go of his hand and smiled at the two others, Hi!she said with a chipper tone, then directing her attention at Heidi, This is my friend, Harley! I think that you and he should be friends, too.

Harley looked at her strangely, but then at Heidi, Hello. Vanille could tell he was feeling awkward, but he did a good job of not showing it!

Harley, this is Heidi, Heidi, this is Harley.

Now that she had introduced them to each other, maybe they would become good friends!

Elliot agreed to see the cards, but it was more of a formality. He did not want to and she already knew what the outcome would be. Showing him again would just prove to be repetitive and bothersome. She kept her focus on Bronagh, lips pressed into a tight line. "No... no I'll be fine." the younger purple-haired girl responded. She did not wish to speak of her problems. That was fine. Marina could truly care less. If she were a boy on the other hand--

"What about not existing?" Marina diverted her attention to Elliot. He had managed to take off his face mask long enough to eat. What an accomplishment, truly. She sighed dramatically. They had so much catching up to do it was ridiculous.

"I meant what I said, and I said what I meant." said Marina flatly repeating the classic Dr. Suess rhyme.

"...What does a real life feel like?" Bronagh actually laughed for a moment, although it was quiet. Her words got quieter after every part spoken, "Is this not a real life? The moment we live in right now, what we do with the time we have. Sure, however brief it may be you would think... I know what a real life feels like... huh..." Bronagh finally just stopped talking as she shook her head. Her hair moved from the front of her face so the small indent on her head showed, at least a tiny bit of it. "Sorry, I ramble... I think too much about things..."

Marina set her fork down on the table rather forcefully. It made a clattering noise as it clinked against the ceramic plate. Her bright blue eyes turned steely as she narrowed them on Bronagh. Her brow creased and her lips were pressed together so tightly they began to turn white. "This," she waved her arms gesturing to the whole room, "is not real life. None of you remember, and of everyone present in this room right now--Bronagh, you were the only one at that meeting." Her tone grew sharp and her whole aura began to darken. "We do not truly exist. The only way for us to become whole, like the players that control us, like Crestatia and Analynne, is to win the game. It is supposed to be our motivation. Nothing we thought we knew existed before this game. It is exactly that--a game--, but we are the pieces not the players. The world we live in, the memories we have from before that email, they were all fabricated. None of this existed before that email was sent. The lives we thought we lived are all imaginary thought up by Crestatia and her other players. You all do not believe me, but you should. I need to start believing pretty damn quick." All playfulness was gone from her voice. She was no longer happy and friendly. Even as she looked between Elliot, Theodore, and Casey; there was no sweet smile that she always cast upon the men in her life.

"I know what it feels like to no longer exist, to literally be erased from the world. We have no souls or spirits like I wish to believe. When we die, we are ripped of our very essence. We stop existing. I cannot stress that enough. While it may be advantageous for people to die, it is unfair to allow anyone else to die before they fully run out of time."

As the two took a seat on a nearby table, Altair crossed his arms and sat with Heidi as they decided to eat their breakfast. Finishing what he ordered relatively fast, Altair crossed his arms and smiled as he looked over at Heidi and listened to her words. It was only natural for her to keep wondering just what was going on and luckily the mystery was solved. Time travel was quite the interesting thought and in the end he just couldn't help but wonder if the future would become worse or not. "Well Heidi, what I found was-" Altair began to say but stopped mid-sentence as he glanced up at the sudden newcomers and blinked in bewilderment for a second and then glanced back at Heidi with a smile that tried to encourage her to say something back. He didn't know these two and despite the girl knowing Heidi's name, Altair liked the idea of Heidi making new friends.

The news Casey heard Marina speak of shook him to the very core. To know that he did not exist, to know that nobody in this entire world existed...it was a terrifying thought "Now I see...." Casey said staring down at his food, unable to face anybody else "These 100 days...it must be a time limit set for this world...if this world is not meant to exist, if it is meant to fade away into nothingness...then there is no point in it after the 100 days. Those that survive will gain existence...but at the same time we lose everything that made us who we are" Casey said to the others that care to even listen. Casey always may have seemed like an idiot and a fool, but there was a reason that he was let into Brookridge academy. His status and money was never a factor, but the mind he had was deemed satisfactory. His potential was always hidden by his carefree personality

[Mood: ...Thoughtful.. ~ OOC: ~ Listening to]

Dylan hadn't said a word ever since Marina had started talking. He just listened, albeit at times he might have seemed zoned out, but he was listening intently for sure. Whether it was Marina, or others talking, and yet he said nothing. Everything she had said was a lot to take in, and definitely completely unbelievable.
Marina even knew it as she told everyone what she knew. Dylan could tell she knew how ridiculous she sounded.
He'd looked at the email when she had slid her phone to him, and he wasn't surprised when she knew he hadn't read it since it was a common known fact he didn't like to use the internet. That he didn't see the point in it.
He had been shocked (Although did not let it show) to hear that Marina had already died once, and now apparently time had been reversed?
    Who would believe that?
He mulled it over in the car on the journey to her estate. It wasn't the first time he'd been there, albeit he hadn't felt entirely welcome. Sure Marina welcomed him with open arms, and that did help Dylan feel more at ease, but it was like she was from a different world. Dylan was an existence that didn't exist truly, that's all. He was a delinquent in a sense. A fighter. Not much else. He was on the border between something and nothing. Maybe more on the nothing side.
Marina might be separate from the world she came from too, but she had still come from there, so she could slip back into that mask whenever she needed.
When they finally arrived at her home, they all went to bed. Dylan had paced off to the Guest room he'd used before, but...
It felt weird. Not that he cared, but it felt so weird to go to bed knowing Marina was so close by and yet not wake up with her next to him or something. That had been the norm for quite a while. Naturally though, this was different. In this 'place' she had appearances to keep up.

Dylan had woken the next day like normal and met with the others, still silent. He'd literally not spoken a single word since... well... he hadn't even spoken yesterday really. And even when new discussions began, he still did not speak. He just listened. What did Marina think of his silence? She was probably used to it, albeit the others might have felt rather unsettled.
Finally... she muttered the words that Dylan knew would have been on her mind as well as his:
"You all do not believe me, but you should. I need to start believing pretty damn quick."At that point, Dylan stood up, drawing all eyes to him. He moved over to one of the nearby windows and opened it before pulling a cigarette from his front pocket and lighting it. He knew Marina wouldn't object, especially since he was close to a window. He then looked over at her. Those deep red eyes of his meeting her's with a firm glance, and then his voice came out. Quiet, but strong, so easily heard. "I believe you."

All of this rang in his head so clearly. This was... 'him'. He always felt like existence, in particular his, was something false. He didn't know if it had been in his head or he had strangely been aware of it all along, but this was just... true. It was THE truth. However... being enrolled into a game? Being forced to play? Nah. Dylan wouldn't play. He didn't like games, or playing by the rules. His mind worked like clockwork as he exhaled a plume of smoke out the window. No one had spoken in the space of Marina's and then his last words, making them hang in the silence.
Dylan had told her in the past once before. Dylan might not believe in a lot of things, but one thing he did believe in was Marina, no matter how far-fetched she might ever sound. That was because while they were different, they were both the same. He didn't know where he'd said it before... perhaps it was another life where he and Marina had existed, or perhaps it was this forgotten future, but Marina had been the only one to ever accept him for who he was and not expect anything else, and in the same sense, he too accepted the real her for who she was despite whatever appearances she may have to keep up elsewhere. That's why it was that easy to believe her unbelievable words. Regardless of the fact that they rang so true with him, he'd have known she was telling the truth regardless. It was as simple as that.

Anyway... It was getting late as they'd been discussing all day (well... the others had discusses and Dylan had listened), so after finishing his cigarette and discarding it through the window, Dylan wordlessly got up, giving a nod to Marina before he left the room and returned to the guest room he was staying in to sleep.

" I think that I might like to take a dip in the hot springs for a while. We are not set to leave for a few hours yet, so we have time. . . Would you like to join me? "

Getting in a hot spring with Quin did...not seem like a great idea. Especially considering their new 'friendship' agreement. She wasn't too sure if...well...

    She shook her head.

There was no way she was going skiing alone, though. If she took a moment to ponder the worse case-scenarios, she'd rather drown than be buried under an avalanche. ...On second thought, she probably shouldn't think that way. It would ruin her after a while.

Just a few seconds had passed before she gave an answer.

"I guess so. For a bit, at least."

And so she finished the rest of her meager breakfast and stood up to head to the springs with Quin.

When in the locker room she felt her self consciousness creeping back in. Annoying. She decided to undress and wrap herself in a warm, fluffy white towel on the opposite side of the locker room to Quin.

"Well Heidi, what I found was-" Altair began, but immediately stopped as two figures approached them. She glanced up, noticing the blond boy in front of her, accompanied by some strange girl in a pretty mask. Heidi swallowed nervously and felt her heart palpitate.

Hi! said the dark-haired girl in the mask with a chipper tone, then directing her attention at Heidi, This is my friend, Harley! I think that you and he should be friends, too.

"U-um..." she stuttered. Heidi was afraid she completely lost the ability to speak. No one was this energetic around her and no one ever approached her like this to introduce themselves.

Harley looked at the masked girl strangely, but then at Heidi, Hello, he greeted her.

Harley, this is Heidi, Heidi, this is Harley. The masked girl introduced them.

Heidi was ready to curl up in a hole and die. Her face was covered in panic. She didn't know what to do. These sorts of things never happened to her. "U-um..." she tried again to no avail. This was horrifying. Why was this stranger torturing her like this? She wasn't sure if she should be nervous, afraid, or relieved to be introduced to Harley; but an odd mixture of all three seemed to fuse together inside of her. She wanted to disappear. This was the part where she would normally run away. She glanced at Altair then back up at Harley. Something about them being in such close proximity with each other didn't sit right with her. What was Altair about to say? "U-um..." she tried yet again, "...h-hi." she managed to muster up under all of the nerves. Her heart was beating rapidly and she could hear the blood pounding in her ears. Her cheeks burned and she pressed her hands to her face to both attempt to cool them and hide. She didn't know what to do in this sort of situation. No one ever just came up to her and said they should be friends. Yes, it is rather peculiar deary. Keep an eye on this one. Anyone that runs around wearing masks in public certainly cannot be trusted.

She nibbled roughly on her bottom lip. Would the torture end if she said something. "C-can I... c-can I h-help you?" she mumbled quietly behind her hands.

It was only after Kallisti and Madeline entered the locker rooms to undress that Kallisti realized her idea of them bathing together was an absolutely awful and abhorrent one. Unfortunately, she couldn't turn back now. Instead of manifesting her resentment at the choice in public, she seethed to Kal for it being his horrible idea.

They were the only two occupants of the locker room, and the were only a few other people in the bath area itself. After Kallisti wrapped the white, fluffy towel around herself, she looked down at her legs; at least the steam of the outside would be a decent enough cover for anyone to miss the scars unless they were looking for them.

Her feet padded across the smooth stone as she tried to, as calmly as possible, step down into the hot water, remove her towel so it wouldn't be wet, and adjust herself to be more comfortable. It was all very embarrassing due to the fact that she was here, and Madeline was here, and they were both just . . . here.

This had been a truly terrible idea.

On the bright side, the water felt rather nice after the sharp heat sank into her skin and reddened it slightly. She tried to clear her mind of all the strangeness of the situation at hand, and all of the tortures that the last two weeks had put her through.

" This is nice . . . " she said, just below a normal speaking level.

And it really was. Perhaps it was a bit of a . . . jump at being 'friends' off of the deep end, but for all she knew, when they breached the surface, things might become easier as they drifted along. As it were, she wasn't expecting to stay close to Madeline for very long, due to both of their intolerant natures. She didn't want to be the first to give up trying, but she didn't want to be abandoned, either.

    Damn this game.

Vanille looked at her phone after it vibrated in her pocket. A message from Tumblr? Maybe it was from Marina, telling her to hurry up. She frowned at the thought; even on missions, she didn't like being rushed.

When she saw it was from an anonymous though, she raised her eyebrows and excused herself from being around Harley, Heidi, and SatAltair.

You're doing a good job, keep it up. Don't let all these strange happenings get to you, you're stronger than you think and you're going to be just fine. Don't just play by their rules. They have no right to control your life. Break the game board. You can do this. Good luck.

. . . Who was this from? She glanced around her surroundings to see anyone who might be acting strange, but she only saw Madeline and Quin leaving the dining room. Well, at least they were happy. But this message. This message was weird. And as she scrolled through her dash, she saw that Marina had gotten a similar anonymous message.

    She glared.

Could this be from Crestatia? Why would she send something like this to her pawns? What about Analynne? In a testament to her rebelling against Crestatia? The message really didn't sound like either of them . . . Could there be another demon or witch that they didn't know about? What about that . . . that . . . Orpheus? She had received a strange message from them once, along with a reaaaally big sum of money that she had given to mom, but after that, they weren't heard from again.

Vanille scanned the room again. Who sent her this message? She typed up a reply, making it as normal and bright as possible, but definitely keeping her suspicion. Maybe she could track the IP address?

Vanille had left him with the other two to check something on her phone and he silently cursed her for it. Sure, he wanted to talk to this girl, but he wanted it to be on his terms, not someone else's He didn't show his discomfort though, and the girl named Heidi looked worse off about this situation than he felt.

" U - Um . . . " Yeah. He felt better about this than she did. Well, he would have rather done it later than now, but there was no getting out of it without hurting the girl's feelings so he went with it. She looked pretty frail, too, so breaking her was out of the question.

    " . . . h - hi. " she finally mustered, and he almost smiled. She was kind of cute, wasn't she? " C - Can I . . . c - can I h - help you? " she said quietly, her hands practically covering her mouth.

" Not really. " he said shortly, " Sorry about this, my friend likes to be spontaneous and not persevere through her projects. " He rubbed the back of his neck, but gave her a smile to ease her nerves, ignoring Altair watching them, " She told me that you and I used to be friends in a . . . previous timeline, so she thought we should be friends again. So . . . here we are. "

Both of them practically tossed into the lion's den, but it was a start?

Alex had decided to go to Ishamel coffee today. It had only been a few days since he started drinking coffee so he figure that he would get another taste of it. When the cup that he ordered had arrived, he took a quick sip of it. Unlike the last time, it didn't burn his tongue upon contact. That was a good sign. Infact he was able to drink more of it at one time. Placing the cup down, he slightly reclined in his seat as he waited to finish the rest of the coffee.

Bronagh listened to everything, everyone. Their reactions.

None of their words were actually her concern. And when she heard because of an email. AN EMAIL?
    x
Bronagh wanted to scream so many things at that moment, she wanted to break down and so much more. She said life, not existence. If she could remember what it felt like to be ripped from an existence than this in some way was considered a life.
    x
Only in your eyes Bronagh... only in your eyes.
    x
She had pulled up her email on her phone, she hadn't checked it since her uncle had died. There it was, that little email everyone was talking about. Marina's little speeches made sense and now she was thinking about things through a different light and she spoke out, "Well, what the heck are we supposed to do then? Sit around? Make a game more interesting?" Bronagh at this moment was speaking to these people in a way she would only open up to someone like... like.
    x
Ugh I dare say Shadow... I wonder how that kid is doing...
    x
"I do not expect any of you to be able to answer those questions, but how do you even get considered by these people to gain a real life? Do we follow their bidding? Do we make it more fun for them to watch?" she held up her phone which displayed the email, "Just now, just now I have read this email for the first time. We have rules we apparently have to follow. Okay, I understand. But what do they want in this game? To see how we react with 100 days left to live under these guidelines?"
    x
Bronagh's voice slowly grew bitter as she spoke
    x
"That's great, because I have yet to break any of these rules obviously shown." Bronagh closed out her phone and closed her eyes and she spoke, "I'm not one for puzzle games." she looked at the time and sighed, she promised the cops she would go home tonight... but it was already late and now everything Marina was saying had a back layer to it.

"Not really." he said shortly, "Sorry about this, my friend likes to be spontaneous and not persevere through her projects." He rubbed the back of his neck, but gave her a smile to ease her nerves, "She told me that you and I used to be friends--" Wait what? "in a . . . previous timeline, so she thought we should be friends again. So . . . here we are."

Heidi blinked twice, staring at Harley in confusion. She had no idea what he was talking about, but she felt it--the connection. It was small, but she felt something there. However, she had no idea what he was referring to in regards to this timeline thing. It made zero sense. Heidi removed her hands from her face and glanced over at Altair, then back at Harley. The image of a skating rink oddly came to mind, and she didn't know why. She would like to talk to Harley more, but didn't feel right in front of Altair. On the contrary, she didn't want to leave Altair because she had that horrible feeling that she would never find him again. "I... I don't know wh-what you're t-talking about." There is no way he would ever be friends with you. Look at him and look at yourself. I-I know... The fact that he is even here with you is astonishing. I know... She glanced back up at him nervously, before beginning to pick at her fingernails which was followed by scratching.

Lots of scratching. She pushed the sleeves of the sweatshirt up to her elbows and began to scratch nervously at her forearms, to the point of drawing blood. Heidi winced. Why did she suddenly feel so nervous? It was as if this same panic attack had happened before. She had had similar ones before, but not of this nature--not when so little was going on to trigger it. She proceeded to begin scratching at her throat. Heidi stood abruptly, still digging her sharp nails into her neck. "I-I have to g-go..." she muttered to the both of them before backing up. She almost tripped over the chair she had been sitting in. This was too much. Why did it feel so suddenly overwhelming? Don't you get it deary? Get what? Oh... well this should be fun then. They smirked and began to chuckle.

After a few minutes without a response, Ben lowered his hand away from the door. He supposed Olivia must not have woken up yet. There was no sense in trying to speak with her if she was not awake. A thought crossed his mind. Had she received his message from the night before? There had been no response, but he did not know how soon she had fallen asleep after they had arrived. Perhaps her phone was dead.
Ben walked down the hallway, tracing the previous night's route. When he descended the staircase, he saw Marina and the others sitting around a table. Judging from the fact that there were breakfast foods on the table, it must have been the dining room. Marina was speaking to the others when he entered the room silently.
"-for people to die, it is unfair to allow anyone else to die before they fully run out of time." So Marina shared the thoughts as he had the night before. This time reset was an opportunity for them to prevent the deaths that had originally occurred.

While he ate, he listened idly to the conversation going on, wanting no actual part it in. He wasn't exactly sure yet if he thought they were all crazy, or if he just needed more time to register everything and take it in. That was, until Lady Crazy had her outburst about them not being real. Once she finished and the pink haired dude started up, Theodore dabbed the corners of his mouth with a handkerchief, politely, and stood up.

Well, I think I've heard enough. Thank you for the invitation. Good luck to you all.

His voice was sincere, but his expression was flat. He pushed his chair back in and walked back up to the guest room to grab his shoes, coat and cell phone, acknowledging the few missed calls from his father. It was already getting late so taking a bus was...not going to happen. He wasn't going to ask his dad to send for him, either, so instead, he called for a taxi and stepped outside of the marvelous residence and into the cold to wait for it to arrive.

Temperance listened as her phone told her that there was one new message from Lindsey. She clicked play and it began.

“…Temperance?” she choked out, a clear sign that something was amiss. There was a short pause, followed by a sob.
    “They’re…they’re dead…”

What? Who’s dead? Temperance stared at the table blankly. She could feel her body getting warmer, anxiety kicking in. Who’s dead, Lindsey?

"They...they all are. Samantha and Amy. Nichole...Nichole is missing. All of them. They...they were tortured." She began to sob harder now.

Temperance jumped to her feet, hands and legs shaking. What are you talking about?

"There was a note...for both of them. It said...it said...this is for my little brother. You'll all suffer for the pain and embarrassment you caused him! She's targeting us Temp. Elizabeth...about the Evans' prank...It's just...it's just the two of us left..." she trailed off, sobbing harder.

Temperance felt a lump in her throat and her body was shaking so badly she thought she might collapse. She glanced around the dining hall. The sudden urge to break something seized control of her. What was Lindsey talking about? This was some sort of joke. It had to be. It was just a terrible joke her friends were playing on her for going off the grid like she had. They were probably here somewhere, watching her. This trip was for all Bellhurst students, after all. Although, she had yet to see even one of her fellow cheerleaders. A lump formed in her throat as her breathing became shallow.

"I'm in my...in my room," Lindsey sniffled.

So she wasn't here. Temperance felt herself rushing out of the dining hall, the phone still pressed to her ear. She needed to find her friend. She had to be here playing a joke on her. Glass shattered through the receiver and Temperance's heart felt like it would bust out of her rib cage.

"There's someone in the house," Lindsey whispered. She froze in her place, now standing in the lobby. She wasn't breathing. Her legs quaked to the point where she thought she would collapse. Temperance had heard the glass shattering. It was undeniable. Across the way she could see Anthony Evans standing with his older sister Elizabeth. Was it really as Lindsey had said in her voice message? Had Elizabeth really killed the others? Was she in Lindsey's house during this voice message that she was listening to hours too late?

"Lindsey! Get out NOW! Your bedroom window! It's a long drop, but we've jumped it before. You need to get out!" She shouted into the phone, not caring that the others in the lobby were undoubtedly staring at her. It was a fruitless effort. Her friend couldn't hear her for this was not an actual phone conversation. If only she had answered last night. There was a shrill, high-pitched, scream and then a soft thud. Lindsey dropped the phone. She dropped the phone... "LINDSEY! LINDSEY PICK UP THE PHONE!"

BANG! The gunshot rang out clearly in her ear. Bang! Bang! Bang! It only happened once, but she kept hearing it over and over. The phone slipped out of her hand as she stood there in shock. It hit the carpeted lobby floor as she stood beside a couch. Four of her friends were dead, including Lindsey. Wet hot tears stung at her eyes, cheeks, and nose. They began cascading down and the only thing that kept her from falling to pieces was the tight grip she had on the armrest of the couch-- holding it and herself in place. The Evans Prank. Evans. Anthony. He was here. She saw him over there. He's over there with his sister, enjoying himself while all her friends were just slaughtered by Elizabeth; over a prank. If he had truly come back from the future, why hadn't he prevented his psycho sister from killing them all? Maybe, this was partly his plan. She killed them over something that happened to him. He probably asked her to do it.

Temperance swallowed hard and locked her green eyes on the pair of them. Her black hair was tied into a loose low hanging bun, bobbing up and down off her shoulder as she walked briskly over to them--her legs still shaking.

There really wasn't too many people there besides their group of students checking out. Many stared at her, wondering why she looked so possessed. Her hair was flying off her shoulders wildly, tears stained her cheeks, and she was shaking--violently. They prevented her death, only to let her listen to the death of another. This was not okay. She was filled with a mix of anger and despair. Temperance stood there paralyzed briefly, before locking eyes with Anthony. She always made him nervous, but now he was about to feel more than nerves. Her arm raised shakily as she pointed to him. "You!" she shouted. "It's...it's all your fault. They're all dead because of YOU!"

Then, she locked onto the psycho bitch that was his sister. She cleared the distance between them and lunged after her. Her fingers twitched as she imagined herself wrapping them around Elizabeth's neck and squeezing the life out of her. It didn't matter if they were in public, all she cared about was destroying the bitch that killed her friends. Not here, but she would get her. Tears kept flowing down her face and she wanted to blame Anthony. The prank was her idea, Elizabeth killed them all, it was their faults they died; but Anthony was the reason for it all. He was convenient and small. She could kill him. If Quin could kill Abby, she could kill Anthony. it would heighten her odds at winning. With Anthony out of the way, Elizabeth was bound to come for her, and then she could kill her too. She would kill the both of them. Through her puffy red eyes, Temperance stared daggers at both of them. "I will personally take each of you out." Her green eyes locked on Anthony, "starting with you. This way Elizabeth--You. Know. What. It. Feels. Like." She said each word slowly, making them their own sentence.

She wouldn't let the other girl off so easily, however, Temperance balled her hand into a fist and swung it at her face. "That's a warning," she spat before walking away. She acted cooler than she felt. Her hand hurt, her legs were ready to give way, but she kept walking until she was outside of the building. She needed to leave, immediately. She never talked to Cherno, but it didn't matter. He didn't matter. Now, all she wanted to do was leave. She had to make it out the doors. If she collapsed before she made it outside, she would never get back up. She awkwardly stopped to scoop her phone back up before continuing towards the door. Temperance exhaled, not realizing she still hadn't been breathing. It hurt. It all hurt. She would have rather Cherno not shown up to talk to her at all. She bit down hard on her lip until she was out in the cool mountain air. It stung, but felt refreshing all the same. They should have just let me die... I still don't even know why they thought I would die.
