"Aghhh!!" Matt cried out as Zoey hurtled straight into him, though somehow as he fell he managed to keep the present intact. He smiled upon seeing Zoey and that widened into a grin upon seeing her reaction to him. He did love her reactions to things and her attitude, it was entertaining. Though when she started to panic, he simply put a hand on her shoulder. "Zoey. Slow down. Calm down. Everything's going to be okay, you hear me? I did promise after all. There isn't any point going shopping as the shops will be shut but don't worry. I think I might just be able to help you out. Just calm down, okay?" He smiled reassuringly at the girl he cared so much about. "I'll sort you out with presents in a moment but first, there's something I need to do."

"Merry Christmas Zoey, you've been one of the best friends I could have wished for and I hope you have the best Christmas ever. Thank you for everything.", as he said that he revealed the small but beautifully wrapped present from behind his back and presented it to her. "I hope you like it, it took a lot of deciding upon." He could feel the back of his neck get hot and he was physically shaking. Why was he this nervous? He shouldn't be this nervous. He was being silly. But he just watched her ever so carefully, awaiting her reaction.

xxxxxxxxxx To say that he was disappointed and let down was an understatement, but he should have known better than to even think about it. He didn't spend Christmas with anyone, and it was the same every year. So to have expected that Heidi would stay, to have expected that he would see her upon waking up was a fool's expectation.

Which inexplicably made Harley . . . well, a fool.

Whatever, though, right? Besides, he had other things to do today, other people to see, and he couldn't have had Heidi tagging along everywhere. He couldn't be watching out for her all of the time.

And so that was what he told himself.

Harley rolled his eyes. When had he become such a sap?

As he walked, he pulled his coat closer to him and looked down at the bag of goodies that he used his other hand to hold. He always figured he was pretty decent at picking out gifts for people because he knew what they liked by watching, observing them. That was one of the perks of having an interest in humans.

Kallisti hadn't been in her dorm room, so he kept her gift with him, but took out a wrapped present and set it on the floor and knocked, soon walking away. The wrapped gift had been for Cristina, who he knew was fond of drawing and art. He had decided to buy her a premium art kit, hoping that she would get some use out of it.

His next stop was Alli. It felt like a while since he and Elizabeth had busted her out of the can, and he hadn't seen her since then. He always got the feeling she was mad at him for some reason or another - as he was dense when it came to her, sometimes - so that was why they hadn't really seen each other. He shrugged, he offered her to sleep in his room. Sometimes, he wished she could have been more accepting of his behavior.

He laughed.

The present was slipped under the crack of her door, a XBOX 360 game, Tales of Vasperia. He wondered if she would know that it was from him. Harley didn't label any of the presents as being from him, but he really didn't care if they knew or not.

He was still in disbelief about last night; someone had broken into his room and gone through his stuff . . . and found a part of what they were looking for. The other part, he had in his pocket, and he decided to keep it on his person at all times. He was beyond angry for this, and every face that glanced his way, he searched for recognition, any sort of regret, acknowledgement, smugness, arrogance . . . Any telltale sign that led him to the thief.

While he was thinking, he found himself sitting on a bench in the Heliocanthea, warming his hands and setting the bag of gifts down next to him. There were still a few in there, but if he couldn't get them all of their destinations today, there was always tomorrow, no big deal.

Christmas seemed a little strange, now that he was in this game. It felt like something bad should happen today, just because it was a special holiday, and really, he wouldn't be surprise if something did happen. Crestatia didn't seem like the type to spread Christmas cheer. He still wondered about that Santa Clause outfit, though.

" Hello! " Sounded a childish and perky voice. When Harley looked up, he saw a girl adorned in Winter layers and a mask.

. . . A mask?

It seemed to be made out of wood, and had only two eye holes and antlers protruding from the round top of it. Why would she be wearing a mask?

" I see you've noticed my mask! " The girl piped cheerfully, moving closer to Harley, " Do you like it? "

Suffice to say, Harley was interested. What was she hiding behind that mask? " It's nice. " He told her with a smile, not moving from his seat, " Very interesting . . . Why are you wearing it though? "

Since Harley couldn't tell the emotions from the girl's face, he watched her body. In several places, miniscule movements happened, all slumping. That was really well done; anyone without a watchful eye wouldn't have been able to tell that her postured changed at all. She didn't like that question, and Harley could tell.

" Just because! " She answered with a chipper tone, " Masks are fun, don't you think? " She seemed to be bouncing on her feet now, " I don't know anyone who wouldn't like masks, but I wear them all of the time. They're always so colorful and different. "

She completely dodged the question. Well. Not exactly - she did answer it, but not in the way Harley expected. With his tone, he had meant it to be a personal question, but he knew better than to think a stranger would just open up to him on first meet.

Before he could ask her another question, she was gone, and Harley was left alone in the Heliocanthea.

Ah, Christmas day. Such a wonderful time of the year. One might normally be spending time what friends, family, etc. What Nate did on this day was different, he would just go for a walk. He didn't really have any family members to spend time with and not many friends as of the moment. Though this didn't make him a scrouge, he loved Christmas itself. It was his family that was the problem.

He could get in so much trouble for this. But eh, who was going to stop him? The invisible students of Brookridge? Most had already escaped or holed themselves up inside. Step one was to safely enter the Faculty of Student Life, where else would you keep the power room? In a shed, off campus? Probably safer, though inconvient. No the controls were here. Neatly marked and everything. Marcus knew most rooms held cameras for campus security, so his hoody was up and concealing most of his identity, he would have to get rid of it later. Before he even entered the school's power supply room, he of course got rid of the only guard on duty. A fit, young man who took his job too seriously. It was easy to send him clear across campus to 'rescue' a freshman stuck in the Astronomy tower. Marcus grinned as he watched the man flee to her, while he worried not about the cameras catching his form, after all, this building would be shut down in darkness anyway.

He ran the facts he knew about snakes in his head, which was the entire basis for this seeminly too elaborate plan. Snakes hate the cold. Shut down power and heat from the Astronomy tower to Ishmael's Coffee, and the snakes will be too lethargic and cold. Thus, they will be attracted to the only warm availabe to them. How would he generate such warmth? Easy. Focus all lights. And he meant ALL lights available to his flip switching fingers, and wala, the majority of heat and light was now coming from the North Gate and North Bridge. The snakes would be forced to bask there instead of the hovels and places they called home now. Hopefully, the cold would be too much for any offspring to survive in. Nervousness flooded his system and gave him speed as one by one the buildings he shut power out of went dark. Just bear with it, sheesh. He could literally imagine the collective grown that would be coming out of his peers. Marcus sighed in relief, the guard had not come back, he'd made sure to keep his face away from the camera, and now he could do no more here, for the power was out in the Student Life building. To be safe though, Marcus stayed in the Power Supply room and decided this would be the best place to wait until his brother arrived.

It was many minutes later, almost twenty, when rythmically, the ground began to shake gently. What was that other fact? Oh, right, incase the snakes were not compelled to bask. Then send out ground shaking beats to convince them that a much larger predator was approaching. Therefore, even if they decided to stay, they would have to choose, unsafe home with a ground shaking predator approaching? Or a very large heat source where other snakes seemed to be gathering. Marcus's phone began to ring as the vibrations coming from the ground began to pick up. Desks began to rattle, infact, a cup on the edge of a desk in the room, fell with a crash to the ground. Marcus groaned as he picked up the phone, he hated this song. So stereotypical rappish. He had to raise his voice and tell his brother to let the bass fall back a little, too much and instead of sending them away in fear, it could aggravate the snakes into some kind of super biting frenzy. His brother understood and told him that he was just being sure that he'd brought enough bass, but four out of six trucks was enough. So his brother sent two trucks away.

Marcus grinned, someone would turn the lights on eventually, for the school. Right now, he needed to get to the Long Hall and let the administration know the South exit was open, so Marcus did so, letting the Admins know it was all a part of the snake gatherers and local volunteers plan. The PA system blared "Students and faculty waiting out the snakes, or waiting for a vehicle to pick them up should head to the South Gate if you'd like to leave campus safely. We have been told that it has been temporarily cleared of snakes, to allow us to head home for the holiday." The message was repeated twice before he was thanked and Marcus felt it was finally time to take his leave. It was weird, to feel the ground shake beneath him, he prayed people weren't dumb enough to run under trees or the building's awnings, the snow could fall right on them. Luckily the snow was dense enough for him to crunch his way to his brother's headlights. He briefly wondered if he could get a medal from the senator as he climbed into the passenger side of his brothers car. Of course his brother needed to be praised with thank you's but that's all the grief he was given, as he was finally on his way home to have a Merry Christmas. But first, they were agreed to spend thirty minutes to an hour protecting the South Gate with bass heavy enough to repel snakes, instead of intriguing them.

Shirley was not a fool, and she certainly hadn't raised one. She stood up to her full height, and her sky blue eyes narrowed at the same time her brow furrowed, very, very similiar to her deceased son. Where should she start? Shouldn't she offer this girl a drink? Not yet, she didn't look like she was dying or something horrid. She pressed the cloth to an open bottle of the alchohol and had the girl run her hands beneath warm sink water before settling her down upon Shirley's toilet seat. Shirley used one of her own towels on the girl's tiny hands and left the towel on the floor as she sat across from Eleanora, placing her rump on the edge of her bath tub and gazing down at the child's hand to efficiently wipe it clean. She felt like she didn't need to tell her that it would sting, but she told her anyone, fighting to keep back tears and maintain her adult demeanor. Quietly she worked and when the silence felt like it was going to be too much, she finally, and gently dabbed at the remaining superficial cuts on her finger tips while using prepared bandages to bandage Elearnora's fingers. "You know..you know my son. How do you know his name? Are you a friend of Cherno and my son? Please, tell me the truth about what you know...I cannot find Cherno in the city." Her jaw clenched visibly as she spoke. "Is Cherno with you too? Is he okay?"

When the woman mentioned Cherno Eleanora's expression soured. She corrected it and gazed down at her stinging fingers. Her vision had gone a blurry with tears as soon as the alcohol hit them, but she was grateful for the help.

Cherno...I am not sure where he is. The Brookridge dorms are the last place I saw him.

She inhaled.

I met John during the Bellhurst hotsprings thing...He took me home and took care of me.

No more.

xxxxxChristmas Day.

Cherno let out a small chuckle as he pulled the sack of computer parts closer to himself. They were a real strain, but they were proof enough these powers were the real thing. Damn. At least-- at least that meant that whatever plan he could come up with would work well enough. The cold winter air spread its wings around Cherno, enveloping him in a frosty afternoon cold. His nose was a cherry red from its biting ferocity. With this sack of parts, he could have passed positively for a rather terrible Santa. He would have to move quickly, though. Quin must have been waiting. Urgh.

Ah-- aha.

He had ... he had presents for the others. What happened to them?
What happened to all his friends? Or, who he considered friends.
He had heard little from any of them. Or did he simply forget? Really, it seemed like the only one he could speak to was the lady Quin. Everyone else ... they had gone, disappeared, just like that.

...
Except for one.
But he needed the one special young boy to be part of the next step in this little plan.

The station, yes? Ah, just a few more steps. Cherno's cold boots clattered against the stones and crackling blankets of snow as he ran towards the monorail station. The silvery, lustrous box of a waiting area, fresh and shining in the mid-winter sun, called to Cherno. But his head hurt. He needed a rest. He stopped briefly by an evergreen, shrouded in snowy white cotton, to catch his breath. His frostbitten fingers gently placed the bag of computer parts down next to him, and he slumped against the tree, inhaling the cold air in lungfuls.

His head hurt.
His head hurt ever since leaving Eleanora's body. He was so worried about her. How could he contact her? A declaration? Fucking hell. She must have thought he abandoned him, after that promise too ...
Ugh.
He narrowed his eyes. No. Do not punch the tree right now.
The fires of fury washed away from his heart, and his eyes grew dull once again. Cherno sighed. Why did his head hurt so much? It wasn't the normal headaches that seemed to be a part of this terrible amnesia. These were different pains. Pains that seemed to be nagging away at him, or telling him to do things he shouldn't ...

Ah.
He-- maybe the painkillers would be for the best, for something like this.
But not now. When they-- when they returned from Coy City. Right. For the thing. Cherno's heart was like a heavy weight in his chest. He felt barely inclined to move an inch.

Maybe this was the best time to initiate the second step in this cryptic, on-the-whim plan.
Cherno pulled out a small, crumpled piece of paper from the pocket of his thick winter coat, and turned it around, scanning it with his careful eyes. They were plans -- blueprints, even -- for what seemed to be a strange, airborne structure. Interior designs. Exterior designs that protected it from all sorts of weather problems. Very detailed. He needed to get the rights to these for a hefty price, but that was part of the plan ...

On the very bottom of the paper, written hastily in drying red pen, were the last words of the man who had saved his life.

Ah--
...
As if Cherno's heart could not sink further. God damn. He clutched the paper with a death grip, his hands shaking. He died. He died for him, and trusted him with this broken, godlike power, and yet, he couldn't even figure out what these words meant. Latin. Latin ...
It would seem so easy.
So easy to just declare a winner for the game. To declare Cherno's Latin proficiency. To declare everyone to be happy and alive in the end.
But no, things weren't easy. Things were never easy. Cherno once again narrowed his eyes.

And put the paper back.
Away from the view of anyone, looking around, he pressed his back to the tree, and pointed his finger to the sky.
Think about the blueprints, think about the blueprints ...

He needed to make sure that his little bro was doing okay.
How long had it been ...
Fucking Cherno. So bad with children. Anthony, Eleanora ...
Cherno's outstretched hand trembled. Was it from the cold wind, or the own feelings of this nigh-emotionless creature?

...

"Bang."

xxxxxCherno looked up.

There. In the sky.
It was almost like a bird. Unnoticed. Perfect. He smiled, gently to himself. Dandy and fantastic. He stood up from the tree, the bark scraping slightly against his thick jacket, and picked up his bag of computer parts.

Okay.
He needed to find out how the little kid was doing. And whether all of this would really work ...
Cherno picked out his phone, holding the smooth device in his hands as he bit his lip. Anthony ... Anthony ... there we go. He selected Anthony Evans on his contact list, and sent him a very simple text message. As he typed with his single bare hand, his fingers trembled, the bright flakes of snow dancing around his nails.

Sent.
Cherno closed his eyes softly, and pocketed his phone. He hoped this would work. All of his hopes rested on that damn kid ... Ah, his-- his memory had been patchy about him recently. He loved games. Cherno got that much. But, what had happened to him, where had he been?

Ack.
Enough, right now. Wasting time like this. Real smooth, Cherno. He clasped the sack of computer parts with both of his hands and slung it over his shoulder, trudging through the cold snow towards the monorail station.

Inside, Quin was standing, visibly annoyed. Fuck.
He ran over to her, scratching his head with a sheepish half-smile.

"A--ack. Sorry about my delay. I was trippin' up in some busybody work at the time. You ready?"

Olivia's Diary Entry | December 25
« Not thus, in ancient days of Caledon,
Was thy voice mute amid the festal crowd. »

anderson estate : : minor key science experiment sonata

Olivia, curled up between thick white pillows and an equally cotton-like blanket, slowly opened her bright, sparkling eyes to the ceiling. Far, far away ... ah, she was so tired. What had happened in her resting peace? She slowly lifted herself up on the bed, delicately rubbing her eyes with her small hands.

Oh--
Oh, she was here.
... Ah.
Olivia's heart skipped a beat as she quickly looked around the room. White bed. White pillows. White canopy, white curtains. White chairs, table, drawers, dresser, even a small white tea set. White white white. This sterility was familiar to her, and she clenched the edge of her blanket tightly, her eyes widening very slightly, and her lips pursed. She was here. Her nose wrinkled, as if she had suddenly smelled something pungent.

How did she get here? The foolish good-for-nothing had interrupted their appointment yet again because Mr. Anderson had been stuck in some sort of other ridiculous problem involving his parents. Exactly how often did that happen to the poor boy? Olivia sighed gently, her voice airy, like the depressed winds of a mid-winter afternoon. She wished to stay in bed for now. Christmas could perhaps come later. Later in the evening, yes ...

Who had brought her here in the first place? As Olivia was about to lie back down, slowly taking her phone from the nearby table, she hoped dearly in her heart that it was a servant. A butler or maid. Not the foolish young man who could not tie his forsaken shoelaces if those shoelaces were Wordsworth poems or Lotus engines. She looked away, down at her legs, and scoffed. Her dress from last evening was still upon her body, light and airy, like a cloud.

Was Mr. Anderson doing well? What about the others in the crash? Miss Sario? Miss Lein? She had not heard from many of them in a while. And the snakes? Olivia's heart started beating quickly. What of the others? Was Lorinda alright? Aah-- perhaps it would be for the best if she contacted them. Hm. Be calm. They were most definitely fine, Brookridge kids, Bellhurst kids, and-- and Mr. Cherno Plume, if he really was among them.

Cherno Plume.
What had Miss Sario asked about him? She-- she could not remember. Blast. Ah well. She fell back, her silvery strands of hair cascading before her as she fell gently back onto the large white pillow, holding her phone in front of her, to the canopy.

Olivia stretched her legs and let out a yawn.
Oh.
That was right. The rainless mutt's present. She had hid it here long ago, when she had last been in this terrible, terribly sterile household. She lowered her eyes. Was it still here? Did the others take it away? What if Mr. Anderson found it? She expected malchik to not even get a wee bit close to it, after all. Ah, she would have to find it for him herself, and he truly needed something like that too. How shameful ...

She turned her attention back to her phone and sent off three more texts, her delicate fingers tapping away madly at the keyboard.

Switch.

Switch.
Those snakes. Olivia made a mental note to ask Mr. Anderson about them later.

Olivia's fingers paused, trembling for a moment.

... What was she doing?
All this time.
All this time she had been an active participant in Academy life. Very active. And now, here she was. It had only taken a few ridiculous, abysmal events for her to find herself in the most dreadfully sterile of places, as if running away.

Running away ...
No.
No, she would-- she would not. Breathe.
No running away.
Olivia, before her closed mouth, grit and set her teeth, invisible to all that could see.

Ah ...
Olivia gently let her arms fall to her bed, landing softly in the cotton fields around her.

Running ... away ...
She thought she had changed. She, she really did--

Wait.
Where was Viola?

xxxxxxxxxx She didn't think it could get colder than it already was. As a matter of fact, it had started to get warmer, as she stood under the cover of the train station. Were other people not to get on the train? She seemed to be the only person here, it felt.

That masked person had long disappeared, but this was the second time she had seen them; what did they want from her? She had an odd feeling about them, and she had never quite been stalked before, but she had never seen the person before. It was annoying and taxing to know that they were following her around, and if they did not stop, she could not guarantee they keeping their life.

Off in the distance, up in the sky, Kallisti spotted something afloat. It seemed rather large . . . Upon walking forward a few steps, and leaning forward a little, she found that it was a . . . a . . . Was that a blimp? What was a blimp doing here, over the campus? How strange . . . It had been a very long time since she had even seen a blimp.

Before she could speculate anymore about the strange, vintage aircraft, she heard a familiar voice, " A - ack. " It was Cherno. Finally. " Sorry about my delay. I was trippin' up in some busybody work at the time. You ready? "

Ah, right, he had the strange vernacular. This would be a pleasant trip, " Yes, I am ready. " she replied to him, " Thank you for inviting me, tonight. " She was slightly tempted to ask him what they were returning to their hometown for, but she decided that since she would be discovering the reason soon enough, there was no need for questions.

The train seemed to arrive just on time, and the two of them quietly boarded it, and with a few other passengers stepping on, it was on its way, back to Coy City.

Shirley tucked a strand of loose blond hair behind her ear and gazed at the young girl. The hot springs...John had gone there alone and met her on the way home. Her answers were horridly unsatisfying but she was possibly the last person to come in contact with her son, so she held in. She noted something though, so she spoke on it. "Where do you live? My son doesn't take little girls home for no reason. Especially if they live far away."

I live right across the street from here.

Her fingers curled up into fists in her lap and she avoided meeting the woman's gaze. She wanted her to stop asking questions now. Call the police! She didn't want to think about John anymore. She didn't want to point out where she lived. She didn't want to be here.

Stop.

The two males immediately glanced over at the girl walking down the stairs and the the old man just let out an awkward "eheheheh...ummm...burning the tree down is our little family tradition" the old man said.

"You idiot if your implying we have to burn the tree down each Christmas then I'll slap you" Altair said as he stood up "The tree burned down cause of some stupidity of a certain somebody" Altair said with a sigh "nothing to get upset for" Altair said walking up to Heidi as he placed his hand on her shoulder

"The tree was materialistic crap....nobody...... except me got hurt and we had a good time so there is absolutely no reason to get sad" the old man said standing up. "Now you kids go do whatever you need to..I'm heading to sleep. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask" the old man said as he passed out on the sofa.

Poor unfortunate souls. She knew of this girl but it was the first she had examined her up close and so well. Shirley stood up and took the girl's hand, delicately watching out for her fingers. She tugged the girl out the bathroom and down the stairs. Around a corner past her puzzled parents and into the kitchen. Her free hand grasped the phone on the wall and dialed 911. When she connected with an operator she stated an edited version of the facts and gave her address. That done, a mug was fetched for Eleanora and soon it was filled with hot chocolate before being handed to her.

Cristina had spent most of the afternoon working on her 'present' for Quin. She didn't know if it could be considered a present, especially after the present that she had received, but she thought that having something was better than having nothing. The girl had originally planned to sketch the entire present, but later changed her mind. Instead, she pulled out her paints. It had been awhile since she had used them. At one point, she heard someone knocking the door, but when she answered it, there was no one there. Somebody had left a present for her though. She brought it inside and left it on her bed. I have to finish this first...

It wasn't until evening that Cristina felt that she was satisfied with her painting. She tried her best to fix the little details were nagging at her. Some were covered up while others weren't. Cristina just hoped that Quin would like it. The girl left the painting to dry as cleaned up the small mess she had made on the desk. She careful washed her paintbrushes in the sink and made sure that the bristles were handled properly. Afterwards, she placed the 'present' on Quin's dresser.

I need some fresh air...Cristina grabbed her long jacket and slipped it on. She decided just to stand outside the dorm for awhile. It was already late, so there was no point in walking around. Walking through the hallway, she could here all of the girls talking about what they received for Christmas. New laptops, phones, clothes, things that she expected to hear. Spoiled. But she did not expect less from girls attending such a prestigious academy. Standing outside the girl could see her breath in the air. Snow was still falling and she wished that it would stop.

Snow. Cristina frowned. Everyone walking past her was smiling- she must have looked so out of place. Getting enough air, she walked back inside of the dorm where it was warm. Instead of walking straight back into her room, however, she decided to roam around the hallways.

Heidi sat in the kitchen nibbling on a sugar cookie. There had been no word from Harley. Was he mad at her? The Christmas lights glowed on the front lawn, adding a warm and inviting aura to the house. Altair and his grandpa told her to not worry about the tree, but it was the first one she had since she had been little. Seeing it in that condition after having been so beautifully decorated made her heart ache. This was her first real Christmas and although it wasn't necessarily ruined, it still didn't feel right.

She sighed softly as cookie crumbs fell onto the counter. The sapphire pendant necklace hung from her slender throat. It shined brightly in contrast to her pale lightly tanned skin. Her hair hung in messy waves atop her shoulders. She should be happy. Anthony was alive. Altair liked his presents. She was allowed to spend time with people that considered family and yet, it didn't feel complete. Heidi wondered what Harley was doing. Was he busy working, spending time with his family? She didn't know that much about him, or Altair, or anyone for that matter.

Christmas music filled the house with a friendly atmosphere. Ham was warming up in the oven. They had eaten lunch hours prior and most of the food for dinner was already set out. They were just waiting on the ham to finish heating up after spending the day in the refrigerator. She didn't watch the football game. Sports weren't really her specialty. She did not understand them well, but granted, was not given many opportunities to attend them.

The commercials were right, it was much more fun to do this with someone before giving them out then making them for one person. Smiling she helped Eleanora bake and cook. Together they made a divine Christmas. It was small but everyone would be full. What time was it'll after seven...the time sure did fly.

Shirley had called the police hours ago, and they arrived soon after. She spent minute after minute with the little one and discovered she was hiding what she was really doing with her son. Shirley decided to convince the officer that she had simply lied and that she was sorry. She had a tangible connection to her son, something that could possibly fill her voided heart. Shirley looked down at the blue eyed girl as they finished preparing the well done food. Oh yes she would not let go.

His phone beeped from his pocket and upon withdrawing it Elliot noticed a text from Olivia. It caused him to laugh lightly after reading it; she expected him to carry her? Not only did that involve an extreme amount of physical contact it was just too much for him to do. Too weak. He was a wimp, in simple terms.

A coward too, as he even sent her gifts up with the maid who was to help Olivia. They were also to deliver Theodore's present as well.

He didn't exactly like ordering those who worked for his family around, even if he always made sure to ask politely. They already have to deal with his parents after all... Ah, perhaps they will be okay with this one task? It was simple enough.

Still, the guilt lingered. Perhaps this is why he spent the next few hours cleaning every spot of the downstairs. Perhaps it was also in preparation of his mother and father, too. Whatever the cause it had taken away most of the day.

7:20 pm now, huh?

Time to rest a bit... Or not.

At the sound of car doors opening and closing Elliot stood back up immediately, going to the door and opening it. Moments later his mother, Jeanne Anderson, entered.

"Your father won't be joining us tonight so there will only be a normal dinner for the evening," the woman said as she removed her coat and mask, handing the items to her assistant.

"I see. Oh, I have brought guests."

"Oh? Please don't tell me one of them is that incongruous girl who-"

"Refined."

"Asinine. And do not interrupt me again, or are you that impudent?"

"I apologize. But your assumption is correct, it is her. Theodore has also joined us for the day."

Jeanne nodded before heading for the stairs, most likely to finish filling out the stack of papers her assistant carried before changing for dinner, if she had time to eat with them that is. Either way it would appear those two would be out of the way for a while now.

Since he was not home at the time, as soon as he arrived, he was hugged and petted, praised and scolded in the same breath for being insane enough to leave the safety of the dorms to venture home. He was checked all over before being dragged to the Christmas tree. He was handed the star, it was a normal decorative piece, five pointed star, painted golden and set on a cone-like structure to enture that it fit the top of the tree, even if you had to chop the top of the tree off. He was happy, genuinely happy, as he climbed down the short ladder he needed to reach the top of the tree.

His family was not perfect, but at least he could count on them. At that last thought he glanced at his brother, who grinned at him before Marcus had to put the ladder away. Dinner was a festive affair, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and even a few family friends had come over to share and take part of the joy and revelry that was unleashed in this time of year. But even though he had a blast, even though he laughed and played games and sang songs horribly with the rest of them. His mind still lingered on things. Bad things, like body switches, like genetically mutated snakes, like games, being created by something that shouldn't even exist. It was most obvious when Marcus had a spare moment alone, before he forced himself to cheer up, because he was alive, and to his knowledge, no one had reported a death. Of course, he didn't forget to text back Olivia.

*Text to Olivia: --I don't really know for sure, I corraled them to the North Gate of campus, and then cleared out the South Gate for safety. I hope it was enough for everyone to get out okay. I'll watch the News to be sure. I don't want my plan to have backfired...--

OOC- I totes thought that Nora was going to get hit by a car and it would've been tragic. Mono I'm so sorry I'm a horrible person.

Allison was incredibly surprised at the object that landed by her legs on the bed. A present? From Elizabeth? Wait...presents? She had forgotten that it was Christmas again. "Oh wow, thanks so much, Elizabeth! Though I'm sorry I didn't really get you anything. I kind of forgot that it was Christmas...hehe..." she explained embarrassed. For sure, she'd have to make this up to her somehow. "Oh hey, you and Anthony are related? Whoa I had no idea. That's really surprising." she said smiling. Elizabeth and Anthony just seemed so radically different from each other, Allison would have never noticed otherwise. "I'll try and treat you to something some time or some such. That's the best I can do, sorry Elizabeth." she said sadly. Though as she got back on tumblr she noticed that Heidi had responded to her again and no one else seemed to be responding to her main update. Had no one else received the letter but her? That couldn't possibly be right. Some time during the day, she had heard someone at the door doing something and somehow an object had slipped under the door. At first she had let it stay there but then remembered it and gotten up to go and get whatever it was. To her great surprise it was another game, and a Tales game at that! Allison could hardly believe that she had gotten two games in one day. So this is what Christmas felt like...I remember now. She hadn't felt so surprised and thankful and happy in a very long time. For sure she'd have to make it up to Elizabeth and this mysterious person somehow. Who else would give me a game for Christmas? Elizabeth was surprising enough, but who else? After pondering about the question off and on until it turned night while she was on tumblr still, Allison eventually came up with a likely suspect. Could it be Harley? Guess I'll have to make it up to him somehow too. He did bust me out of jail. Best buddy. I should spend some more time with him. It seemed for the rest of the night it would be eventless for her.
