There was no surprise that she would do this but even so, when Olivia jumped up Elliot appeared to be somewhat startled, his reaction mocking someone jumping at the sight of a ghost despite them knowing full well that it was a fake. It was rather silly.

"I knew I should have just left you to wither away here," he sighed, "no one would miss such a lunatic after all."

The same reaction as before happened as he was caught, thought an attempt to brush the whole ordeal off was made. But being one who never exercised it was rather hard to escape now. And the music soon began playing, making it seem that he would be trapped here until the appointment was declared over. This was soon proved to be incorrect.

It was hard to hear over the noise but a phone was ringing and when he checked it turned out to be his. "I-I must get this. So p-pardon me, you daft dolt," he said, shifting to reach into his pocket and retrieve the device.

Oh, Theodore. It had been a while since the two conversed so Elliot was surprised by this turn of events. He'd ponder the reasons why but there was no need to keep the other waiting any longer so the call was accepted.

"Hello?"

He'd successfully stroke up a conversation with her, now to continued it. "Yes, I'm a student from school and was wondering how you were doing." Nate said. Well part of it was true. Curiosity was the whole reason he'd came in the first place. But nothing said he could fine out about someone who went to Brookeridge.

O-oh shit, Elliot answered...Well, of course he answered--Theodore knew he would answer, but shit. His heart rate accelerated. So nervous.​

He moved the mouth piece of his cell away and took a deep breath of carpet-cleaner air. His eyes scanned the elevator and he tapped his foot to the tempo of the music still being fed to him before speaking again. ​

❝Yeah, I'm sorry. If you're not busy, I need your help. I'm at Antilum. Dad shut the elevator down again. He really doesn't want me to go. ...Do you think you could stop by? I'm in Sector C. Coming from the 12th floor and heading to the bridge.❞​

It was rather interesting having someone else check up on her, especially since she hadn't recognized this kid at all. He must have been a Brookridge kid, not a Bellhurst kid like herself. But the fact he was nice enough to go around and visit patients showed at least some care. Especially since it was rather late.​

"Thank you for asking, I am doing well. I'm getting out of this place tomorrow."​

At this point she didn't want to continue the conversation without introducing herself, she extended her hand and spoke, "I'm Bronagh." She didn't say her last name, not that she usually did unless it was a doctor or a teacher or some form of authority.​

 

Step 2: Break the ice - Success

Nate was glad at how well this was going, especially consider how he didn't have very much experience talking. "That's good to hear. I'm Nate." He accepted her hand. Once their handshake was done, he tried to think of something else to say. His mind was drawing up blanks. In a last minute effort, he decided to ask about her interest. "So, is there anything your interested in?"

Does this look like a freaking flash date, you just asked a girl in a wheelchair what her interests were. You don't even know me what the hell. You can't talk about current events? Christmas even? What are MY interests? What are yours?​

Bronagh at this moment showed a blank facial expression and responded, "I'm a writer. What do you do?"​

She felt something off in her notebook, something was folded now inside it. She doesn't fold paper unless it is a note, and she certainly doesn't put folded papers in her notebook. She wanted to check it out, but also didn't want to be extremely rude.​

After hearing what had happened Elliot promised that he would be there soon and, after giving the other some time to reply, hung up.

A shot of guilt hit him as he realized this would be yet another ruined appointment but after explaining what happened to Olivia he felt as if it would be okay (even if she appeared annoyed). Besides, it was just her. And Theodore being stuck was a much more pressing matter. So they left, going back to the car and a waiting James. What a patient man.

Hopefully patient enough to go in the opposite direction now and with another passenger, as the dolt decided to tag along.

Once the car had pulled into the parking lot at Antilum Labs Elliot exited with a low level access card, one that seemed to have been left in the car by his father in hopes that he would come around more often. Foolish man.

He crossed the bridge and made his way to the elevator, finding the control panel near by. It was opened and the card was swiped, returning power to the elevator. Hopefully that would be enough for Theodore to get free.

 

Step 3: Avoid any awkwardness - Failed Completely

Nate could tell by the blank stare he was given that he'd messed up. Even he knew that asking something like that wouldn't end well, but he went with his gut and it was too late to change it. Fortunately she did answer, so he felt a little better. "A writer huh, that interesting." He'd hoped that nothing in that sentence came off as weird or him 'hitting' on her. "I'm more into computers and electronics."

Oh that explains why this conversation is so... nevermind.​

Computers and Electronics, and he's talking to the girl who likes to go outside and be all "nature is fun" "look at that sky!" "all of this fresh air". The fact he was into computers and electronics made it obvious that he was pretty much a polar opposite at that standing point. This calmed her down a bit as well.​

She let out a chuckle to try and fade away the awkwardness of the moment and spoke, "What do you do with the computers? Are you a roleplayer or a software designer?" she knew enough about computers to hold a conversation for a while but once it started getting a bit geeky... she was totally out of the element.​

 

The chuckle lifted his sprits more. To him it was a sign that he wasn't screwing anything up. "More of software programming and design." While there was a little roleplaying experience under his belt, he'd rather not talk about something in the past now. Maybe another time perhaps. Assuming that there was another time.

[/url]Heidi followed Harley along to the games store and looked around. She had never really played any video games before and tried one of the display consoles set up. It was fun, but the character kept dying. If Anthony was with, he would probably know how to do it. They never got to play games together. A solemn sigh escaped her lips and she went back to browsing the game selection. She didn't know if anyone played games, or what type they would like. The store was kind of useless for her, but she remained silent on the matter until it looked like Harley was nearly done.

She walked over to him as the cashier handed him a bag with games in it. Heidi wondered who they were for, but didn't ask. "Think anyone you know would like a game?" She shook her head and bangs fell into her face. Holding the shopping bag with Zoey's present in one hand, she brushed them out of her face with another.

"N-no. I don't know. I really don't know what anyone likes." She headed towards the door, walking beside him. The mall was filled with so many wonderful shops, she could have spent days in there. Sadly, they did not have that much time. One of the stores had a mannequin in the window wearing a shirt that read Hero Brigade. Heidi smiled at it and asked Harley if they could go in. She skimmed through the racks until finding the right one and taking it to the register. Shopping was fun. She really liked it. Getting people gifts felt good. Heidi smiled as she exited the store and caught sight of a beauty supply shop down the hall.

It reminded her of Casey and his hair. She promised to help him dye it. She could get the hair dye while she was here. That only left Harley and Altair. They were there for what seemed like minutes, but her phone told her otherwise. They went through a few more stores before she finally found something for the two of them. When she finished paying for the last item, Heidi turned to Harley smiling. "Do you need to get anything else?" Today was fun. She hadn't had fun like this in quite some time.

Bronagh nodded slightly at his answer, she really didn't have a way to respond to his answer and took a while trying to think of something to say. Not only that, the folded paper in her notebook was driving her insane. Was it a page that had folded up after she had ripped out that page with Comedic Christmas Card Catchphrases?​

Bronagh tilted her head to the side and decided to ask a basic conversation, "Are you doing anything for Christmas tomorrow?" she decided to leave off the sarcastic comment that she had asked Elizabeth earlier... ​

Ah Christmas. He knew that it was tomorrow, but didn't want to think about it too much. He hadn't much of a reason to celebrate it anymore. His wasn't on good terms with the rest of his family as the ones he would actually do something for were dead. "No." He said with a smile. If there was one thing good about Nate was that no matter what was bothering him, he wouldn't let anyone else see a frown on his face.

The answer "No" wasn't something she did not expect. She had gotten it a lot more than "Yes" and decided not to question it. This didn't exactly make the conversation any easier and this was probably why he never asked her simple questions in the first place.​

How was your day? Where do you come from? What's your favorite movie? What's your favorite color? Is your hair naturally white or do you dye it that way?​

He'd heard her right, she did ask if he liked trees. Why wouldn't he. He may like computers but he wasn't a shut in. "Yeah." He did really know how to respond to the question. Nor did he know what to ask next. Hopefully she would do it and save them an awkward moment of silence.

A one-word answer person... why do you start a conversation and not uphold information long enough for me to respond back with another question... I feel like I'm interviewing him.​

Bronagh sighed a bit, it was a dumb question anyway, she really couldn't blame him. She decided to try one more question, "So, are you a Brookridge student? I'm one of the students from Bellhurst who's temporarily moved because of the flood, but I don't know if you were just a Bellhurst student I never met."​

Bronagh watched the rest of the people that were in the room, it was getting late and some of the little kids were awake. One of the kids were sitting on a chair hugging their knees singing a Christmas Carol. One of the nurses tried to get them into their room but they kept saying how they wanted to see Santa. The nurse had a saddened look on his as they kept trying to get the kid to move.​

Wow... how late is it?​

 

Technically he was neither, but there was no need to share that information. "I heard about that flood, just what's been going on in Bellhurst. All I would know is about the flood and other incidents that's been on the news. I'm from Brookridge." Nate had to make sure not to get distracted with other stuff and completely forget to answer her question all together. Still he looked out the window and saw that the sun was starting to set. Had he really been there that long.

Bronagh shrugged at the question, because really it could have been anything. At this point she assumed it was the whole game board thing.​

Bronagh shook her head and said, "I don't really know, things happen when we do not expect them to... Thanks for talking to me but... visiting hours end in literally 3 minutes." she didn't leave, she wanted to give him time to at least respond or ask any last minute questions.​

Familiar faces were seen throughout the mall but for the most part they had been ignored as Elizabeth wished to focus only on the present she had to get. Though once it was bought she realized she did say a small party, or well maybe gathering, might happen tomorrow. To be nice like this...sigh.

In any case she ended up buying a few decorations and other items before checking out and headed back to the dorms. Once there she set the bags on the dresser before laying down and going to sleep.
