SURPRISINGLY, DARREN TOOK INITIATIVE AND MANAGED TO SUCCESSFULLY QUIET THE BELL. The demoness released a heavy sigh and gave the demon a nod of approval with a courteous smile playing on her lips. She took another step back from the gate, watching her step upon the limestone tiles beneath her and brushing off the skirt of her dress. A strand of hair was pulled back from her forehead as she steadied herself.

Very good.

And just when Crestatia thought she could finally begin to unwind and relax, Rosaline's voice pierced her ringing ears.

Crestatia.... I don't think stopping the bell is going to stop the castle from collapsing. The God is saying time is up, that we need to get moving. So if we start the same, maybe they'd be satisfied knowing that we're starting. We'd be sending a message that says we're ready to get down to business. We have no time to waste. I think that's what we have to do! We need to go back to the others and start the game. We'd better hurry too, I'm afraid something will happen to the others!

Crestatia did not care what happened to the others - they should have offered their assistance, and would rot in Hell for for aeons if she had any choice in the matter. It was much too soon to adopt that vicious sort of attitude here, so she took a moment to filter her thoughts before she replied.

Perhaps ... I do not know Him personally, but from what I have gathered he is not a very forgiving man. I do not believe this is some kind of warning meant to crack the whip on us ...

Her suspicions deepened when she felt the ground tremble beneath her. Just a bit ahead of them, to the South, a tall pillar was crumbling to the ground. The castle was literally falling apart. She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth.

The sounds of others approaching tickled her ears and she turned around to take Garret into view.

Hey, you guys, just what the hell is that thing?

A warning. Annalynne replied, eyes locked on the quieted bell before them.

Correct. One left behind by God, it seems. The millenia is over.

THE DOLL TUMBLES DOWN, DOWN, DOWN AND INTO THE VANILLA CLOUDS SURROUNDING THE CASTLE. IT'S FATE IS UNDETERMINED.

After Sangria left, Ursa sat down in her seat to wait out the rest of the pre-Game nonsense. The Valens around her moved around noisily, and there was an overwhelming mix of scents and voices and alcohol. The vodka went untouched in front of her. The arrival of Magnus shocked her out of her own head, causing her to grit her teeth at the large Valen's needless shout. She was quite content to see the male taken down by one of Sangria's bottles. Even if said bottle didn't come from the Valen--if the shout was anything to go by.

"Everyone who is not seated, please sit."

Crestatia, the unspoken leader in Ursa's books, spoke authoritatively. It sent a well earned shiver down the Ice's spine. She smiled as the much powerful Valen introduced their game and coordinator. She reached for a card as Marina spoke as well. Diamond...interesting enough. The guidelines seemed simple enough. This wasn't her first game, but it was definitely the easiest to lay out a strategy for.

Pain shot through her rapidly at the first toll. The bell was much louder than the other Valens, nearly bursting her overly sensitive ears. Ursa cried out as it continued to sound, curling into a ball in her seat. It was too much and it seemed to be all around her. She tasted blood as she bit her cheek.

She tried to keep her whimpers quiet until the bell stopped ringing. Slowly she unfolded herself from her chair, looking around with dazed eyes. So many of the Valens were gone from the room. She reached up to feel the liquid seeping from her ears. Blood. She cursed and wasn't shocked to find her voice distorted to her own hearing. She stood shakily, holding onto the table until the ringing stopped and she felt a little more steady.

She stumbled to Marina, holding out her hand. "Coordinator," she greeted, wincing at the faraway sound of her own voice. "I believe the others may be in trouble. We must hurry." She sniffed the air, smiling when her nose seemed unaffected by the other shot senses. "I may not be able to hear clearly for the next hour, but I can trace Sangria's scent. I will lead you to them."

Sangria took another sip from the plastic bottle as the party congregated at the top of the castle. They were extremely high up, and the clouds here were thick cotton puffs that swayed in the stark breeze. She felt her hair move all a-flutter from time to time, but she made sure to stay close to the other Immortals. This part of the roof felt particularly unsafe, and in the distance, she spotted the South Tower collapse.

She stared.
Mmm ... this hadn't happened before, had it? Looks like we did something wrong.
She looked towards the others in the garden, then towards the bell.

"Yoohoo, Crestatiaaaa! ❤"
She sighed. This one was one of the most challenging and frustrating to get any sort of reaction out of.
Sangria leaned by the gate fence.
"Hun, I think it's best if we get this little show off the castle. I haven't been here in ages ... " She made a dramatic show of discontent, waving her hands in the air. "So my memory's a little rusty, right? We've got fly-boy and winds over here ... what'd you think we try and leave this place right here from the roof?"

She looked back up at the bell, a bit concerned.
A warning, eh? ❤
From her faint position, she noticed the words TIME IS UP.

Sangria scratched the back of her head.
"Though, I certainly feel like we won't be able to escape what's going on around here just by leaving this castle, it seems. Aha. ❤"

When Sangria had mentioned him with a nickname of her own, Gale wondered how exactly they could leave. Since the building was still trembling and a tower had fallen in the distance, he didn't think it was a good idea to head back inside. He thought about it for a moment. They could always jump. The problem was the clouds which made it difficult to see what was down below them.

"Well we could try going getting down from here." He started, before pausing a moment to concentrate. His aim was to bring about enough wind to clear up the clouds, or to a lesser extent move them so that they could see what was below them. It took a bit, but Gale was able to use the wind the he called to move the clouds.

Seating wasn't an issue for she had already took it upon herself to sit. Now that the game was shown that the rules were set, the frown had finally reversed. This game would be too simple. A walk in the park one might say. She leaned over and grabbed a card pulling it close to her face. "Clubs, I suppose this will suffice." The new thought was who would she be working along side with. Working with others never was a strong suit. "sigh/"

However, things took a turn for the worse, the bell had begun to ring and much louder than anticipated. Her set reaction was to curl her legs in as well as her hands cover her ears. Luckily she managed to shut the holes with skin before any damage was made. Even though blocked off, the sound waves still vibrated loud enough to make her twitch in pain. The same couldn't be said for others who appeared to take the sound much much worse.

"DAMN THAT WAS LOUD. OH RIGHT!" She was shouting since she had basically become deaf. Moving her hands back to where her ear holes were, she aloud the skin to fall off to hear once more. "That's better. hm? Where'd everyone go?" That was certainly odd, everyone seemed to disappear for a slight amount of time. She looked at the remaining people. She sighed when seeing Ursa bleeding.

"C'mere, I'll heal your hearing and wounds... can't have a handicap can we." She said pointing her palms out toward her. She would set time back for Ursa by a few minutes, just to heal her some. That was all she could do in this accursed castle.

Ambrose had just kind of shrugged off Sangria's 'fly - boy' comment. Sure, he could fly, but that didn't mean he was here to amuse everyone's beck and call. He liked when they were all enjoying themselves, but this situation didn't really call for being lively. Ambrose didn't have much ambition to do anything until Gale replied. He didn't mind that guy -- what with the whole wind thing and all. Well we could try getting down from here. That was kind of already implied. He just sighed and watched the boy work his magic at bending the winds to the best he could manage with the depleted magic in the Hall of Games.

He clicked his tongue to the roof of his mouth and nodded his head once. I suppose I could check it out. Mimi, did you have any reaction to your doll that just went down?

Gotterdammerung turned to reply, My Mimi-mistress is slightly distraught over the sudden loss of connection she has experienced with that particular doll. My Mimi-mistress claims that the whereabouts of the doll are limited by both the shortened radius of her control, and the thick clouds obscuring much of anything that I see to be four meters below the roof. As such, my Mimi-mistress concludes that clearing the sky to see the ground may offer a better idea of any danger that may lurk in the space around the castle.

Ambrose popped his lips together and his ash - colored wings stretched out at their full distance. All right then, but bear in mind, we're not allowed to leave the Hall of Games once a new game begins and technically jumping off the roof would count as leaving the castle; so if anything happens to me ... He left it at that. His eyes scanned over the faces of the others once before kicking off the floor of the roof. He was only a few feet in the air when Marina and Ursa seemed to join the others on the roof. Glad you two could make it he added before lunging off the roof and into the thinning clouds.

It felt wonderous to have tossed his bottle of alcohol at the beefy idiot who would yell about like a moron. Asterion knew that tossing the bottle would not really hamper the brute and even so there were others that were wasting their time tending to him. He sighed and shook his head as he waited some more and soon enough things took place. Crestatia and Marina both began to speak and then things began.

Intrigued, Asterion raised an eyebrow as he watched the demoness move about. "Tsk...its time...things are changing at last" Asterion said calmly as the castle began to tremble. A search party was formed and Asterion was glad to accompany them. There was definitely no way he would miss this, he needed to see what was going on.

He stood along the others and crossed his arms as he watched on. His powers held not much sovereign over this castle. Negation could work, but it seemed like such a waste since all the powers were weakened already. Energy Manipulation had its uses, but it depended on how much energy he could spend as well as how creative he got with the power. "If worst comes to worst we can pool up energy and use it to help the situation" Asterion said calmly. With so many people who could volunteer there were a myriad of things he could possibly do like form objects of sorts to help out.

When Crestatia arrived at the foyer, Sienna felt like she was stabbed by a spear. That damn Crestatia! She thought. Sienna always had a grudge against her for reasons, one of them being that she lost some of her land during the last game, which Crestatia was the coordinator of.

As she sat down, she heard the somewhat-an-introduction Marina did:
"Thank you for that introduction Crestatia. For Redemption, I need everyone to be so kind as to draw one card for each of the pawns you intend to start with. If you add more pawns later, they will just be thrown into the fray."
S
ienna reached for the center of the table and drew one, it was a Spade. Then, she glanced at Anthea's card, a heart. She didn't know what that meant yet, could their pawns be on separate teams, or maybe there were different limits for the pawns? She sighed, Hopefully Anthea won't be too mad about my pawn....

Then, Sienna thought a bit about the Gameboard. It was impressive, especially for someone's first game.....

She heard something, a bell ringing, perhaps?
What's going on?, she thought, are we starting? Or....

Then, the castle started to shake, violently, Alright, what's going on? This doesn't usually happen at all!

Sienna overheard something, they had to stop the bell. But how? Even if her powers weren't reduced here, they couldn't stop something. Her temporal duplication could bring past and future versions of an object into the present, but how could that stop a bell (key word: Duplication); then there was her Animation ability, which let her bring inanimate objects to life, but she couldn't make them inanimate again, so that was pointless in this situation. Finally, there was her thunder manipulation, which could work, but she wasn't sure if it could.

After a few Valens tried to help, the bell quiets down. The castle was still shaking though. Sienna noticed that some were walking towards a hallway, and she decided to follow them (taking Anthea with her). After a bit of time, they all ended up in a garden where a few others were. There, she found the source of the ringing, a huge bell with the words "TIME IS UP" on it.

Time is up. Time is up.
Time is up. Sienna had only been a Valen for about 24 human years, and now time is up. By now, she should have been 40, but she was able to sustain her 17-year-old appearance by becoming a Valen, and now time is up. She should be Marigold "Mary" Lenin, but she was able to change her name to Sienna, and now time is up. Darn, Sienna thought, the 1000 years we had is now over.
Then, she turned to Anthea, "We might as well get down from here, but how?"

IT WAS MORE OF A STRUGGLE TO KEEP HER COOL THAN SHE WOULD EVER ADMIT. The possibility of this happening had always been there in the back of her mind, but she had not thought she would be present at the time of God's arrival. The thought of coming face to face with the King of Immortals devastated her. She would either prove to be an enormous disappointment to Him or even worse - he would not even know who she was. It was a very real possibility that all of her efforts were for not, and that she had really not accomplished much of anything at all. She was not sure she could handle a realization of that magnitude and all she wanted to do was escape.

Yoohoo, Crestatiaaaa!

Masking her contempt, she turned to take the drunk into view.

Hun, I think it's best if we get this little show off the castle. I haven't been here in ages ... So my memory's a little rusty, right? We've got fly-boy and winds over here ... what'd you think we try and leave this place right here from the roof?

I am not sure ...

Though, I certainly feel like we won't be able to escape what's going on around here just by leaving this castle, it seems. Aha. ❤

Maybe we ought to - ...

It was too late, and some of the other Valen were already acting on their theories. Dizzily, Crestatia stumbled to the edge of the garden - peering over the rooftop as Ambrose took off just after Gale attempted to move the sea of clouds. She gripped the ends of her curly hair, pulling at the spirals absently as she pondered over what exactly to do here.

You're losing control.

I know, put a cork in it. Stay calm. Think!

If worst comes to worst we can pool up energy and use it to help the situation.

Ambrose had not returned.

We might as well get down from here, but how?

She wondered how many regions had been informed of what was happening. Nearby districts must have heard the bell, too. Aether must have been in a complete panic. Did they really want to leave? The Players would be held responsible for a catastrophe like this.

Sometime while she had been trying to keep herself in check, Rosaline - the batgirl from earlier, pushed the bell and started up its insufferable ringing. Crestatia groaned, pushing back from the edge of the rooftop and glitchily teleporting her way back towards the gate. Then, Sangria suggested they explore the castle for whatever reason.

Feeling resigned, Crestatia took her suggestion as an opportunity to escape the bell and descended down the steps leading back into the castle.

Prism was still in the foyer checking over his mirrors. The sound had been unbelievable loud when the bell was ringing that he was worried his mirrors could have shattered. He was happy to find out they had not, but he kept examining them anyway.
He kept periodically looking at his reflection which was now the way he always looked when his mimicking completely wore off. He was himself, but with white hair and red eyes. He had to wait for his true colors to appear again, and whenever he was in the Hall as he used it, it always took significantly longer. When he was putting the mirrors back in his bag, the bell started ringing again.

His curiosity was getting to him but by the time he was ready to head out and find the group, the group had already found him. Prism looked at the entire group and kept looking towards where he perceived the bell was writing and let out a sigh before he spoke in a quick manner,
"Alright, what is up with the bell?"

Sangria grimaced at the others, before turning back to her doppelganger friend.
She sighed, rubbing her temples.

"The uh-- it is ringing again, for some reason. Aha ..." She did not want to deal with it right now. "More importantly, we should look around to figure out if we can discover anything."

Looking down at the ground, she turned up a chair that had been left fallen over in the hustle and bustle to get up to the roof, and sat on it in the middle of the room, looking at the others.

"We have only seen, my dears, a part of the castle. For now, let's head east and west, why don't you say?" Sangria looked aside for a moment. It wouldn't be the greatest to split up like this just yet, but she could feel the ebb of a headache rising in her head and wanted to get something done. "I shall go west. Take care for those who go east, or choose to stay here. Those who wish to come, you may join my lovely expedition. Be wary of the collapsing towers, and return to the hall if you are in trouble."

Hm?
She saw the bear of the little girl tug at her pant leg. What was this?
The bear spoke up.
"My Mimi-mistress will place beacons of the floating dolls that will allow her to carry her voice here. My Mimi-mistress has decided to visit the east wing with Darren."

She briefly turned her gaze up to the demon, before looking at the small floating orb that the mute girl had erected.

"However," the bear continued, "She possesses only enough cloth and gravel for four. The first will be in this room and serve as a waypoint in case the foyer needs to be contacted, my Mimi-mistress says." With that, the bear returned to the girl, and Sangria placed her hands on her hips.

She tapped her heel.
"Well then." Technically, they didn't have a direct way to contact the foyer like the east wing did, but maybe ... maybe if she raised the senses of her party to hear them, or just yell in the direction of the foyer to get their voices picked up? Let's hope ...
She hid her concern, and clicked off into the west wing.

"Maybe fly-boy will come back, if he didn't decide to escape himself. How sly of him."

Everything had happened so fast, and yet so painstakingly slow at the same time. First off, there was the game starting for all dem Valens to go around and have their pawns get murdered again in some sort of exploration maze game. Games were always fun. But then a giant bell started to go off. So good old Cressy and Annie went off to explore with Rosy, and then the rest were just chilling out in the foyer. Eventually, the castle started rumbling and a tumbling. Man, this was quite the unique game they were playing. He hadn't ever played a game where the castle got involved. Regardless, most nearly everyone started to go off in search of this bell noise. Eventually, they all found it, it was stopped and then Ambrosia threw himself off the roof of the castle...and did not come back. Man, those sea of clouds were pretty unforgiving.

So, after that was over with, the gang then decided to try and think of what to do about the still rumbling and still tumbling castle. First off, Rosy went and restarted the bell because reasons, and then they all decided to go off and explore the castle. Castle exploring sounded like quite the fun activity, especially with the added prospect of the castle collapsing at any time. So, of course they would decide to split off into group and go search with the power of numbers! In addition to that, Mimi ended up making some awesome doll communication thing, one that Johnis really didn't get at all but he hardly ever got her dolls, and then Sang started moving out to go on her own exploration mission. Vex also ended up showing up along the way and so the great team of JVS was formed.

The trio started their grand expedition by wandering around the castle until they ended up in the grand castle's dining room. While at first there was nothing interesting to be seen around here, since it was just a dining room, the whole thing seemed like kind of a bust. While the three looked around the room, Johnis eventually walked forward until he found himself in the kitchen. It was there that he noticed something interesting.
"Hey guys, check this out!" Johnis yelled to them. What he had found was nothing too interesting, but a pile of servant clothes, like maid and butler uniforms. However, this made Johnis think why were these here in the first place? "Hey, do either of you guys know why there'd be a wide assortment of clothes here? Are there like, regular maintenance staff in this hall or something?"

Darren had a headache that now faded as he rested in the foyer for a moment. The team that rescued them made him grateful that he wasn't handling this alone, specifically after the bell incident and the gate burning Crestatia's hand. Out of concern for himself, he gazed over her palms, never obviously, but enough to see that they didn't seem to bother her. Unless she was putting on a brave face. He was panicking and and that put his speedy mind whirling. He took deep, steadying breaths until he was calmer and perked up visibly at the suggestion of exploration. Anything to get out of this situation and get moving.

He stood up once he was feeling better, he had the familiar feeling that came with wanting a nap, but otherwise was fine. Sangria some spear headed one group. He watched as Vex and some others left the foyer, and Darren left the hall in another direction. Not explaining his actions because everything needed had already been said.

He heard steps behind him and a quick look over his shoulder was affirmed that he had several with him. Surprisingly, Marina had come. That was delightful, she was being useful. Players loved useful things. He took the first door they came too and opened it quickly, startled but taking it in stride as he encountered a two floored room filled to a shelf to shelf brim with books. Green, yellow, blue and red spines stared at his little crew. And he wasted no time zipping around the few tables there were on the ground to the polished silver staircase that led him to the second floor.

He began to pull and search book after book, for anything his mind could think of. Half expecting at least a book on their specific God or a hidden passage to Him. Darren finally spoke and it was quick and to the point. "We have who knows how many rooms to explore till we find something to get out of here. Spread out. And we'll be out of here soon." No malice, no urgency. Just to the point.

Superspeed inhibited, he could still search pretty fast. So it wasn't long before he came across book. He thought it was yellow, but it was a pure golden color. His quick eyes skimmed a few pages, but the language was foriegn. Which was odd, because all Valen seemed to speak the same language. Stranger still, the book seemed very important. Maybe Annalyne could witch look at it or something. He took the book and called his team into the hall as the light fixtures shook atop the ceiling. There seemed to be nothing left in the Library, and they needed to keep movie.

Sangria giggled at the uniforms. They looked almost identical to the ones her handmaidens and butlers wore, but as she would have thought, running her slender finger along their sleeves revealed that they were crafted of even higher-quality material than she could even imagine. This God certainly did not skimp on the details.

She pulled her hand back and ruffled her hand through the rest of the dresses, then eventually broke away from them and danced to the other end of the kitchen to look for some water.

Ah! A tap. She quickly took out her bottle and filled it to the very edge, and with a tap of her finger, the water in her bottle did not change colour but gained a very heavy alcoholic scent. With bluster, she downed a bit of the vodka.

Better! She let out a laugh and wiped her lips.
"Hun, I think the clothing's there just for the maintenance staff. Hehe."
She looked up as the ceiling rattled a bit.
Was another tower going to fall? Maybe they needed to quickly get to wherever the centre of the castle was on time ...
She picked up her bottle. "You do bring up a good point, since I haven't seen any of them after coming here. Let's move on, dears."

The party exited the kitchen and moved through the rest of the west wing. Looking up, the chanderliers seemed to be shaking. She couldn't feel anything in her stomach from the drink, and she breathed deeply.

"Ah, here we are. The ... armory. There are stairs down to servants' quarters and up to the second floor if we need to go through them."

Unfortunately, all they find is a large, diamond-encrusted sword.
"Vex," Sangria said. "You could try picking it up, hun, but I think the castle might be ... weakening your powers?"

o f all the people who could have been sitting next to Morgiana, it just really had to be dummy Sangria. Not only did Morji not like alcohol, but she didn't like Sangria's sometimes uppity air that she had about her. She was not a better Valen than Morji and she wasn't above her either!

. . . Hun. This isn't anything to be scared of. ❤

Her hand went to Morji's sheepy hair and she flinched, her eyes darkening in their shade. Who said I was scared, huh?! But Sangria wasn't exactly looking at her. Fine then, be like that!

She warily watched as Sangria took out the empty bottle that had – g i g g l e s n o r t – clocked her in the face earlier and murmured words of offering. Morji watched with a scowl { albeit, layered with wonder } as the bottle filled up with a pale purple liquid that was, no doubt in the whole of Aether, alcohol.

Before she could do anything else, there was a faint tremor . . . And then a much stronger one. Morgiana was on her feet immediately, her eyes icy blue, frantically scanning the area. Since they were in the castle now, there was . . . No way to get out! She let out a gasp of shocked realization and her first worries were about if she would ever see her b e d ever again.

Contemplating what to do, Morgiana stood up and sat down several times. When Sangria said something again, it gave her something of a direction.

Most everything else passed in a blur, but the majority of the Players had gathered on the roof, finally finding the bell with the ominous words on them. Morji was intimidated by them.

She was always frustrated when she came to the Hall, but only to go directly to the main foyer, but now . . . Now she was given a chance to explore the castle as freely as she pleased, with no one to bother her! There was never an end to the giant, mysterious maze that the castle was, which was why it always kept her interest.

With slightly droopy eyes, she drifted away from the group and watched her feet walk forward, only slightly wary of the dangers of the castle crumbling. It was really a shame! She would never completely know what this place was like { not that there was ever a chance to know all of that before, but she could dream! }.

Just barely dodging a falling pillar, Morgiana had dove into a pair of doors and landed on ceramic, ornate tile with a loud t h u m p. Wailing dramatically and loudly, she lifted her head and blew her giant cloud of hair out of her face to see where she was. The ceiling was high and woven with beams of bronze and gold, which the glass ceiling could be seen through, leading to a view of the strange sky.

Grand music played, but it only seemed like a perpetual echo and she could only hear it in her head. Creepy. The expanse of room was lined with columns on both sides and on the far side of the room was a bit of risen flooring and chairs set up. A b a l l r o o m. How did she know that? The creepy dresses everywhere might explain it . . . she mumbled, standing up and dusting herself off. Her silver shoes clicked against the tile floor as she wove her way around the scattered dresses and clothing carefully as if they were landmines.

The question was, Where are all the people?! Her voice trilled loudly over the almost-ghostly music playing.

After getting herself just that much more inebriated, Sang answered Johnis's question. Albeit she didn't seem to know anymore than he did, but collaboration and what not was still good and dandy no matter how fruitless it could be sometimes. However, the castle seemed to be shaking and breaking a bit more now as the ceiling started to look a little less stable then it was before. Anyway, the gang then started on their marry way towards an armory. That sounded really kickass!...only it was really bland and what not. Like, there was barely anything to note at all, and so there was just time to go and search for something else now.

They started walking down the staircase towards the servant's quarters of the castles. Again, where were these servants anyway? Once there, Johnis figured his question was probably answered when they walked in. Within the room was not much to note, just a few jars that seemed to have some odd questionable substance in them. Oh and also there were skeletons. Johnis was kinda weirded out by the skeletons, and wasn't entirely sure what they were doing here, just lying about. Or better yet, how long they had been here. The final thing to note was that there seemed to be some sort of trapdoor that probably lead to some sort of dungeon. Well that was quite the find.
