Traversing along with the others was far better than merely staying around the drunken fools and watching pointless chaos occur for no reason. When he got the message of leaving Fairwyn, Asterion couldn't help but jump out of his chair and immediately rush towards where the others were. Sure the group was quite big, but Asterion figured his powers would be quite the help in case of the threat of bothersome valen.

The others gaining nothing from the library in Fairwyn was absolutely no surprise to him at all. They needed to get out of here and it seemed their next target was Twercania. The name was ridiculous, but it at least it should be a better place that Fairwyn. With transportation given to them they were soon off, but their travels to Twercania had stopped upon the sudden labyrinth that had blocked their path.

It was certainly quite the troublesome problem, but they needed to get past safely. Another had appeared before them and it seemed the owner of the labyrinth and land itself had appeared. If anything this woman was the key to them passing this maze, so Asterion took the time to introduce himself, which turned out to be quite the mistake.

Asterion watched as the valen had been insulted by his words and merely closed his eyes. He could say he felt a bit bad for what he said and from her words he at least saw the frustration she held. They had no choice but to go through the maze, but Asterion had once thing he had to do. "one thing before we head out..." Asterion said glancing over at the valen named Mimi.

Calling upon her for a little favor, Asterion merely readied himself to apologies to the mistress of the land they stood upon. "A young group coming upon your land without paying a single shred of attention to it, I must apologies, what we...no...what I have done was wrong. Our mission had blinded us, but that is no excuse now is it? I would be delighted to take sight of your kingdom...I take great pleasure in seeing the beauty of all lands, but if you desire us gone then say no more, we shall leave" Asterion said having Mimi direct the voice to Akantha.

From I, Gotterdammerung, who bore a shared connection of stalwart memory with my kind and benevolent Mimi-mistress, who attempted to scrounge ideas of what this particularly flowery land appeared to look like in a previous venture, as I, Gotterdammerung, recall my Mimi-mistress once before briefly using this land as a waypoint between territories, I, Gotterdammerung, simply found myself distracted as the immortal individuals touched their feet upon the ground from the metallic craft, and my dear mistress, holding me tightly, rushed around with a glint in her eye and a wide-cheeked smile as she took in the rich rosy scent of Silva est Herba.

I, Gotterdammerung, slipped out of my Mimi-mistress' arms, and looking up, I noticed her gaze to be far much too distracted by the wonder of plant life around her to immediately notice my movements, but even if she did, the plum-cheeked joy that my Mimi-mistress appeared to express at this particular Valen region to absolutely notice. I attempted to search the mind of my Mimi-mistress for deeper considerations on what may have perturbed her to act in such a manner, but I noticed that the other immortals began walking forward, and I, Gotterdammerung, the closest of my Mimi-mistress' dolls, was only able to glean what felt like a soothing aura of contentment from my dearest mistress.

I, Gotterdammerung, believe that describing the plant life of this particular region would be considered a definitive understatement of what my Mimi-mistress believes to be the actual nature of this particular territory. I, Gotterdammerung, being the greatest and most loyal of servants to my Mimi-mistress, utilised my observational constructions to attempt and discern all of which was to be noted in this particular territory. I glanced at the other immortals, who had gained some pace, and immediately informed my Mimi-mistress that she must catch up with them. It took a certain period of waiting, but she would move behind them, lag a bit, and run further some more, I, Gotterdammerung, attempting to absorb as much of the territorial information as possible in this frame of observational time.

The world was built, in a metaphorical sense, on the skeleton of vines and seemed to blossom out of the iridescent grass. Stems and leaves twisted into spirals that formed the world's fabric, vines that danced into arches and tickled fingers of wriggling ivy creating lattice-works of flower-dotted plant walls as thick as earth and stone. Far in the sky floated distant petals, and the thick smell of rose, ivy, and vineyard raised its head sleepily from the black soil, cascading the land in a haze of delicate, natural solemnity. The plantwork was not simply limited to greens or reds, but shimmered in the cold sunlight, painting the scene in a watercolour of rainbow hues that blended naturally into each other and shifted at the slightest flick of the vision. I, Gotterdammerung, considered it to be a world of life and constant change; a world that held risk of quickly overwhelming my simple sense-constructions. Yet at the same time, I, Gotterdammerung, felt an air of imposing warning lurking beneath. The leaves were sharp and jagged, the vines bore thick black thorns. The colours were not bright, but just slightly pastel and pale, and the sunlight was tinted a sharp violet that hid menace beneath the colourful canopy.

I, Gotterdammerung, turned to my Mimi-mistress, whose gaze did not once break from her wonder of the plant life around her, but as the party approached the heaven-touching labyrinthine wall, I, Gotterdammerung, would have shared the sense of dread that the other immortal individuals appeared to share, if I, Gotterdammerung, possessed the capacity to express such advanced emotions.

My Mimi-mistress sat down on the earth in front of the maze, delicately stroking the shimmering grass with her fingers, and I, Gotterdammerung, being the most protective of all of Mimi-mistress' dearest servants, quickly wandered over to her side, ready to protect my Mimi-mistress as necessary. Her smile did not break until the plant-woman entered and left just as quickly as she came across them. It had happened in a quick moment, and though I, Gotterdammerung, had turned away from my mistress to look upon this scene, I felt at the back of my head my mistress' contentment turning to wonder and then familiar solemnity. Looking back, her smile had dropped.

But her plants are so pretty ...

I, Gotterdammerung, the closest companion of my Mimi-mistress, was highly inclined to state that the plants of this individual, the Lady of Silva est Herba, were indeed pretty, if I, Gotterdammerung, understood the aesthetic value that natural-living individuals possessed in observing their surroundings. I turned to my Mimi-mistress, and informed her of the situation that had taken place. She shook her head, her face turning sour, as if the violet light had reached her tongue. My Mimi-mistress stood up.

But ... pretty plants ...

I, Gotterdammerung, felt a groan from my Mimi-mistress' thoughts. From my observations and shared connection with my dear mistress, she did not find deciphering this particular book worth it if it meant completely disregarding the continued exploration of this land by her own hand. This was, of course, one of the lands that my Mimi-mistress and I did not get the pleasure of exploring completely in the past. I, however, attempted my best to assure my Mimi-mistress of the importance of our goal. Though I, being a loyal servant to my Mimi-mistress, did not quite understand the goal due to its complexity among immortals, I simply relayed the information gathered to her, in the hopes that the powerful mind of my Mimi-mistress would be able to understand.

It took the immortal named Asterion for my Mimi-mistress to return to her senses. She nodded and closed her eyes, placing her hands on her ears, ready to use her voice powers to reach the Lady of Silva est Herba. I, Gotterdammerung, prepared myself.

My Mimi-mistress relayed this information to me, and channelled my being to relay this information to the collection of immortals that were present.

- - - - -

It is of course I that always feels the deepest connection with my mistress.

I, Gotterdammerung, feel the thoughts of my mistress flow through me.

My Mimi-mistress claims that this party of immortals means no harm.
All immortals present, I, Gotterdammerung, come to understand, wish the most gracious of apologies in upsetting the Lady of Silva est Herba, and will gladly leave, if required, by the ruling, Lady. She says it is understandable, the frustration, when my Mimi-mistress is guilty herself of being unable, to experience the territory in its, entirety, but I, Gotterdammerung, believe that sharing the reasoning behind our goal, if you may, be willing to listen, could put the immortals on better, terms. As I, Gotterdammerung, believe that, the endpoint of this goal may be relevant to you as, well, and it is in the best interest of the immortals above I, Gotterdammerung, to help you and, your territory--

. . . Miss Aka!

I, Gotterdammerung, am both simultaneously surprised and worried, if I were able to express, both, that my Mimi-mistress has directly interjected using her own voice, and recommends that she--

. . . Miss Aka! Your plants are really pretty!
I haven't seen anything this pretty before!
I'm really sad I didn't get to come here sooner!
Show me more! Can you, Miss Aka?

f r a n k l y, Morgiana didn't give two flying figs about Akantha and her stupid sensitve behavior. All their group wanted was passed through her land to get to Twercania – that's it. She didn't have to be so flippin' sensitive and stupid about it. Who cared about the stupid flowers? Apparently, the whole group did because everyone was now kissing Akantha's stupid hiney, praising her ( kind of ) pretty flowers that infested this stupid flowery land like a disease.

. . . They were pretty, though.

Morgiana preferred her wheat, though. At least they could be useful.

Still, she guessed that kissing ass was better than having to make their way through some maze because Akantha threw a stupid fit. Why, if Morji had it her way, the flowers wouldn't even be such a problem and Akantha would swear them off forever!

She showed her disdain for the situation with stormy eyes and heavy footsteps, staying on the far side of the group from Mimi and her . . . thing. Mimi, shockingly, seemed to talk, but Morgiana was too busy eating flower-shaped cookies to pay attention to what she was saying, only knowing that it was more of them staying here, traversing, sucking up to Akantha for passage through her land.

. . . She was suddenly cursing that stupid coin toss – she wouldn't have had to be here if it just landed on tails instead of heads.

She tugged a little on Asterion's sleeve, motioning for him to lean down. If we show her that we care about her stup – flowers . . . Do you think she'll let us through? she whispered. What do we do if she doesn't?

Marina stood around watching the others with a bored expression on her face. What was the likelihood of them actually reaching this Twercania place? The odds seemed even more slim with the whole hedge maze surrounding it. That was dumb. It was mildly embarrassing making a gameboard based off of a labyrinth and then they come to someone's kingdom that is entirely made up of one. Tch. It was a mockery. At least this 'Akantha' person did not show up to join her game. That would have been the end of her had this other woman known.

Her manicured fingernails rapped lightly on the hard golden cover of the book. Marina had decided to dispose of her game plans given the fact that there was clearly not going to be a gameboard today, if ever. The only item left on her from before entering the Hall of Games was the letter tucked inside of her dress. Her blue eyes rolled. They were wasting their time sending messages to the 'Lady' of the land. She had looked pretty pissed upon departure and clearly had no intentions of helping them.

She watched the doll - bear - thing be commanded by the quiet girl. Marina did not find it terrifying by the sleepy girl Morji, but it was creepy. She heaved a heavy sigh and walked forward. Morgiana was whispering something to Asterion, but she did not care to stop and listen. Marina marched on until she was standing directly under the archway. Another step forward and she would be inside of the maze. It would be reckless to walk in unprepared, she learned that much during Days. They needed a plan for everything, but this Akantha did not seem to be interested in their patronizing. What is the point of patronizing the woman? She made it pretty clear that she was not going to help us and I do not see brown - nosing as anything but anno --

Marina had taken a step forward while talking, but a wall of vines blocked her path. It webbed together and flower buds blossomed into a strange pattern. The rainbow flower Johnis created stood proud on the ground directly below it. Marina stumbled back and knit her brows together. The flowers formed some sort of intricate pattern and it took her mind a minute to process that it was a message. She bit down on her bottom lip and glanced back at the others before reading it out loud. If you can find me at my home, I will bring you to the place of tome.

"Thank you for helping me, I'm glad that someone was able to notice me. So...Daphne... how are you today?"

Daphne opened her mouth to speak, before being interrupted by the bartender, who was calling her over to the bar. The Valen looked back to Sienna and smiled at her, mouthing 'sorry' and waving goodbye. She walked back to the bar after helping the drunken Valen onto her feet. It felt nice helping her because, despite her self-inflicted intoxication, she was still helpless and needed it. Crossing her legs as she plopped back onto the bar stool, she whistled cheerfully for the bartender, who seemed to have been patiently awaiting her return. They exchanged pleasantries and he handed her the glass of Shirley Temple. Mmm, this looked so yummy! Eagerly, she took a sip of her drink. She licked the excess from her bottom lip and giggled.

"Thank you very much! This is so so good!!"

The bartender turned to her and flashed her another smile as he nodded and began cleaning a few glasses. She found it odd that he really didn't seem... affected by the bar happenings. Shouldn't he, like, clean up the broken glasses and the tables and such? Taking another sip, she pondered what exactly he thought was more important than the safety of his customers? Granted they were in Fairwyn, where nobody seemed to really care about each other unless they were attractive. She sighed and casually shrugged her shoulders, taking yet another sip happily.

The Valen soon began to scan the bar, quickly spotting her target, Sangria, easily because of her vibrant pink hair. She didn't get the chance to talk to her before, besides asking her 'how are you?' [ which she never even got an answer to ]. Without Mimi, she was feeling rather lonely and wanted to chat with someone. She cleared her throat softly before calling out.

"Sangria! Can you come here please? I'd like to talk."

(OOC: I'm out of town, so I'm doing this (probably bad) post through my phone (I didn't see a real need to bring my laptop with me =/))

Daphne opened her mouth to reply to Sienna's question, but was interrupted by someone and walked away, mouthing "sorry".

Well that wasn't so bad, she thought, and she's supposed to be nice. She then mouthed "it's ok".

She looked around a bit, but she stopped when someone yelled "Sienna!"

Sienna turned around to see her "sister", Anthea, fallen down and surrounded by some people.

"Anthea..." Sienna turned around and ran over to her, stumbling while doing so, "are you OK?"

"Well, I've fallen down, so no."

Sienna laughed a little and helped her up, but the people surrounding her weren't done.

"Ginger," one of them started, "get that pink-haired scum outta here!! She's messing up our game!"

Since their first attmept to gain passage through the maze had failed, some of them had attempted to appease to what she'd told them by complimenting her flowers. While Vex was a man of science he did acknowlegde that flowers had uses outside being used for experiments or observation. That wasn't enough though to get to start flattering her flowers.

What is the point of patronizing the woman? She made it pretty clear that she was not going to help us and I do not see brown - nosing as anything but anno --

Marina had spoken about the what they were currently doing as she walked towards the maze. Her progress however was stopped when vines formed in front of her, blocking the way.

If you can find me at my home, I will bring you to the place of tome.

"So in order to get where we want, we need to find her." That was what the message implied, though it certainly wasn't going to be that easy. They were go have to traverse a labyrinth, something that could easily go wrong.

"We're going to need a plan of some sorts in order to find Akantha's home."

INTOXICATION

Sangria turned.
Oh?
She wanted something, the little girl?

Mhmhm. She walked over to the Benevolent fairy, staring down at her small form.
At times, Sangria felt dismayed that she would be willing to offer a drink and good fun to someone like this, but they were immortals now, right? Hah.

Before saying anything, she gazed carefully at the girl.
The little party here was getting immensely boring, but such was what happened with these generically shallow Fairwyn events that did not hold a candle to her endless Kantharos dithyrambs. Sangria giggled to herself. She snapped her fingers and Chardonnay appeared behind her with a bottle of shiraz.

She leaned in close sideways to the small girl, whispering in her ear and stroking the edge of a lock of hair.
"Who is at the bar? Is the stock almost fully replaced?"
"Yes, Brewmistress. The young man is, Brewmistress."
"What, the old hassle you dealt with in the closet?"
"No, one of our own, Brewmistress. But these people are too drunk to notice. Or care." Chardonnary sniffed as she tried to hold back a snort.
"Good." She took the bottle from Chardonnay's hands.
"Set up the table down by the outer ends."
Chardonnay stiffened a bit.

"Please clean up if I'm not there in fifteen, hun. <3" She drifted a long finger through a lock of Chardonnay's hair, and Chardonnay simply stood at attention. "Manage this place while I'm gone, will you?"
"I will, Brewmistress."

Chardonnay bowed deeply and retreated. Sangria placed the shiraz on the counter in front of Daphne.

"Say, hun, how's about you and I go to somewhere more private and fun for a little talk, don't you say? <3"
Sangria winked and stared deeply into Daphne's eyes, using her sense of inhibition lowering to dull the poor girl's senses into potentially agreeing. Yet, she did it halfheartedly, because in much honesty, she was unsure what the bubbly young lady wanted, nor did she care if it did not have anything of use to her.

Johnis was rather excited to be able to go into the maze and have some fun. It was after he gave his gift of flora, that everyone else in the group started to apologize for being rude about the not paying attention to the wonderful maze of plant variety themselves. They all seemed to be wanting to completely disregard the maze, though, and jump straight to Linguistic World Land Place, which slightly upset Johnis. Mazes were meant to be traversed and explored, and if they weren't then all they were was taking up space and not being useful in the slightest. It was then that some weird flower art appeared around his flower and bam! Riddles. Well that was quite cool. This Akantha chick sure knew how to throw a bitchin' side quest. Granted the riddle was basically saying to just to her place and then they'd be where they originally wanted to go to, but hey, it was the rhyme that counted.

The Vex man then said that they were going to need to form some kind of plan to find Akantha's place. Well that seemed rather silly to form a plan when they were going into something that's whole purpose was to be unchartable territory.
"Okay, here's the plan. Step One. Enter the maze. Step 2. Walk around the maze. Step 3. Find Akantha's home. Step 4. Uhhhhh.... Step 5. Profit! Now that that plan is settled let's go into the maze get down to the good stuff. Though, I suppose even going blindly into a maze having some form of progress tracker would be good." It was then that Mimi-Doll, or rather her spokesman G-Gor-Gotter- uhhh, Goiter Dammerg, proposed the plan of using Mimi-Doll's powers to make dolls out of dirt to act as checkpoints around the entire maze. "Alrighty then, with that settled, let's go!" Johnis pointed eagerly to the maze and started to go right into it, totally willing to get some maze action on.

The sudden tug on his sleeve had caught the attention of Asterion as he lowered himself down to Morgiana's level and listened to what she had to say to him. He figured most people in the group actually had the same attitude as Morgiana, but they really had no choice at the matter. Regardless, his intentions were not fully set upon convincing the mistress of the land, but to merely apologize for his rude behaviour.

"Er...possibly...so long as we are in her land our choices are quite short...though I really doubt a mere apology is gonna change anything" Asterion whispered back before rising up and crossed his arms "though looking at plants may not be so bad" Asterion said to himself and closed his eye with a smile "it might quite interesting" Asterion said. There were so many things he desired to see and had it not been for the message from god he wouldn't have been in such a rush. The woman that had left was quite upset, and a simple apology was not going to change that.

Glancing over at Marina who was complaining and being grumpy as usual, Asterion watched and raised an eyebrow at the sudden vines that had appeared before her and upon that a message had appeared. "well...this is unexpected.." Asterion said. Johnis' flower must have tickled her fancy so it seems they actually were moving along.

"Well then lets not waste any more time complaining now shall we?"
Asterion said calmly as he headed forth towards the maze. With those vines that had blocked Marina, Asterion was sure that he needed to stay on guard at all times.

Now he really wished the he had kept his big mouth shut. Someone did show up, a beauteous lady at that, only for her to end up not only refusing to guide them through, but warning them to leave for their own good. Just great. Just fucking great. Now they had to aimlessly wander inside of the maze that could make them go insane in order to have a sliver of a chance to get to Twercania.

Later on, a message appeared that told them that if they could find the graceful Akantha at her home, she would show them the way. Promising, except for the fact that they are going in blind, going mad before finding her was a distinct possibility, and none of the others, to his knowledge, had powers that could counteract that. Things were looking pretty bleak, but if they wanted to decipher that damn book, they had to go through with it. He clawed at the back of his head nervously as they all started to go. There had to be some way of going about this.

He had thought of something, though he wasn't exactly sure if it would help or not. "Maybe we could try following a wall. Might take several hours, but it's better than going in blindly wandering." Maybe this was her plan all along. Instead of guiding the group directly to the city, she'd make them take a roundabout path that would force them to stroll through this garden of hers. "Take a stroll, smell the flowers, all of that good stuff. I mean, if she wants people to just take a leisure walk through here, let's do exactly that." He popped his neck from side to side. "Well, that's just my suggestion anyways. Don't need to listen to me if you don't want." A drink would work wonders for him right about now.

Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.
-William James

The fact that the people in the bar were still cruel (even after Sienna helped her out of the situation) didn't really surprise Anthea. It was Fairwyn, after all.

"Hey, wht 'ya doing still standing around?" One of the larger persons in the group walked up to her, "get outta here!"

"I'll help you, Anthea," Sienna grabbed her hand again and ran to the other side of the bar.

Anthea sighed,
"Thanks, Sienna," but then she noticed her running back to the fighters, "Sienna! What are you doing?!"

"I'm gonna give those nasty Fairwyn people a piece of my mind!"

Anthea tried to run after her,
"Didn't you see how large they are? They look like they could tear you apart if they had to. Also, you're drunk, and it's best for you to stay out of this."

"I don't care! ," she grinned, "I have my secret weapon!"

Secret weapon?, "Sienna, don't!"

But Sienna already reached where the people who harassed her stood,
"Sienna!!!", she screamed.

A sigh escaped his lips as he ran his index finger and thumb along the bridge of his nose. That wasn't what he had in mind at all. Like all mazes and labyrinths, blindly walking into them would easily get you lost. What they needed was some way of keeping track of their progress so that they didn't get lost. Fortunately Mimi's speaker, Gotterdamurung, suggested using her doll as checkpoints. Since he couldn't do anything similar to that and having no idea if anyone else could, it was there best idea.

"Guess we have little choice." With Johnis, Asterion, and Garret going on ahead, Vex followed behind them. The fact that the vines has moved on their own accord gave off the impression that some of the other plant life may try to attempt to hinder their progress. In case that was to happen, he used to mental link with his Alpha and Beta drones to activate them. While they remained out of view, they would responed instantly should anything try to harm him.

He had to respect the fact that the plant lady wanted to be respected. He was pretty sure that he could speed through the place and head into the book paradise by himself. But, he would be running blind, and he would never do something so reckless in a ticked off Valen's domain. Darren sighed and followed after the one or two who headed in. He only hoped that golden book was worth all this slowness and trouble. His speculation was that it may hold clues as to how the current God became God, and how might they curb his anger. A long shot, but it was better then doing nothing while Aether's realms were probably torn apart in God's wrath.

He tried to speak to residents, but they let themselves get wrapped in the walls and never returned. Most retreated from them into their homes. He had hoped someone would show compassion and help them out, but Akantha must have had iron grips on all of them. No one helped or volunteered too, he stopped after the second try. He stood on the outside of the group, as protective as you can be in a group of over five strolling down a flora decorated maze, presumably lined with death in every thorn. Minutes turned into hours and though there were dead ends, he could only hope they were halfway there.

I, Gotterdammerung, found the walk to be weary and tiresome, or so I would find, if I were but a biological immortal construct and not simply an artificial creation of my Mimi-mistress. Despite this, the vines and hedges grew thick and menacing, with twisting, thorny rope-strands of bleeding greenery interspersed with coldly scintillating flowers. I, Gotterdammerung, followed slowly behind my Mimi-mistress as the party attempted to continue through the overgrown foliage, and from my personal connection with my almighty mistress, I was thankful to notice that her emotions were something that I, Gotterdammerung, read and understood to be simple fascination with the world of flowers around her rather than fear, for my Mimi-mistress was truly the greatest and strongest of all mistresses.

Despite this, the city of hedge mazes was something that I, Gotterdammerung, found to be immensely disconcerting for the other immortal individuals. The grass and flowers consumed one's mind, and the stench of oversweetened rose mingled as a poison in the air. Strange creatures, which I, Gotterdammerung, assumed to be other individuals or immortals of the territory, would briefly peek their eyes towards the group before disappearing into the foliage, or letting the ground take them completely. Occasionally, I, Gotterdammerung, would come to observe small cottages recessed in alcoves, beneath wooded sections, or hidden between bushes. My Mimi-mistress would pay no attention. When I, Gotterdammerung, felt a slight pang in the heart of my Mimi-mistress, I would realize that the dolls she had used as checkpoints would lose their autonomy, perhaps crushed by the weight of the maze, and how lost I, Gotterdammerung, feared to be, was something that if I, Gotterdammerung, possessed emotions by the graceful touch of my Mimi-mistress, would be shaking.

Time is hard to gauge for someone such as I. Yet within the maze, the very notion of time was concrete in a way that it would never exist. So when the vines grew thicker and woodier, and the flowers more fragrant, I, Gotterdammerung, realized that, through logical association and the help of the thoughts of my Mimi-mistress, it was entirely possible I had reached closer to the middle of the maze, unharmed.

My Mimi-mistress jumped. I turned around.
A sickening growl, like the falling of a tree in a storm, resonated from behind us.
Immediately, my Mimi-mistress scooped I, Gotterdammerung up. Turning around and looking at the blooming, flower-petalled section of the maze wall, it appeared that we may have been getting ever so closer to the home of the plant immortal.

But just that. I, Gotterdammerung, felt that my Mimi-mistress, the kindest and sweetest mistress to exist if I, Gotterdammerung, were to possess any other mistresses, grew more apprehensive, noting that it would be best to get to the home of the plant immortal quickly.

Everyone walked in silence -- careful and quiet. This garden gave her the creeps. Marina was not sure how much longer she could stand being in this place, but they did not have much of a choice at this point. Everyone had agreed that going forward was their only option if they wanted to get to the linguistics city of Twercania. No one that lived within the walls of this maze were willing to help them which was not much of a surprise. If the 'Lady of the land' did not want to help them, then her subjects would be less than willing as well. Believing otherwise was pointless.

She was pretty sure they would never find their way through this. The outlook did not seem good and weird things were happening. Not only was it dangerous to get too close to the walls of the maze, but she was starting to feel dizzy and was pretty sure that one of the times she fell forward was brought on by a vine purposely tripping her. That was just rude and uncalled for. Marina got to her feet and brushed herself off. She clutched the book tighter against her body, afraid something might happen to it. It was a magical golden book that literally wrote itself. Losing it was not an option.

Tch. Fucking maze.

Things grew darker as a wall toward in front of them and the scent of flowers became so overwhelming she thought her nose might explode. Marina stumbled forward into Johnis when a root wrapped around her ankle. She kicked at it repeatedly until it let go with a few promising threats about cutting it off and burning it. Leaves and flora and bramble parted in front of them until light peeked through and it arched upwards. A decorative cottage that looked as if it was made out of living trees and foliage stood proudly in a clearing. A small rock garden encircled it and patches of wildflowers popped up in every direction. Laying flat on her back, surrounded by honeysuckle, was the pearly - horned woman that greeted them in the entrance to the maze. She did not look in their direction, but seemed to know of their arrival anyway.

It would seem you have all made it here well intact. That is most unfortunate news. The honeysuckle surrounding the Valen curled in on itself and morphed into those really ugly Dendrobium Orchids.

We did what you said, Marina snapped in annoyance. So will you just get up and take us, please? She put every ounce of desire into that word and already loathed herself for doing so.

There was a moment of silence before the woman sighed heavily and rose to her feet. Fine, she said flatly, Let's go. At least they were finally getting somewhere.

I'm working on a project while writing this.

Sienna smiled as she ran toward the mean people who insulted her "sister".

How rude of them, she thought, insulting Anthea like that.

She turned around and noticed Anthea running after her, screaming
"Didn't you see how large they are? They look like they could tear you apart if they had to. Also, you're drunk, and it's best for you to stay out of this."

"I don't care! I have my secret weapon!" My thunder manipulation!

"Sienna, don't!"

She approached the insulters,
Too late, I'm already there.

"Sienna!!!!" Anthea screamed.

Sienna grinned and lifted up her left hand, thinking
thunder and lightning! over again.

There was a little spark, but the only thing that happened was that the lights went out.

Oops, she thought, my bad, then went back to what she was thinking before, now to try again! Thunder and lightning!

I, Gotterdammerung, would be extremely happy to note that the immortals in question were particularly safe, along with my Mimi-mistress, despite the many ills that were present within the labyrinth, if I were allowed to do so. Avoiding the thorned vines and voracious chomping-plants and the cry of the plant-dragon mandrakes was only second to reaching our destination, but upon coming across the immortal who called this particular land her home, the venture became easier to bear.

Yet reaching the enormous metal towers of our destination served to quiet the prolific life around I and the others. My very Mimi-mistress, who now gripped on to me tightly, had quietened and silenced her thoughts away from my consideration. She was slightly weakened from the apparent disappearance of the dolls at the farthest ends of the maze, and decided to keep a close eye on the antisocial lady of the maze instead. However, my Mimi-mistress knew well enough that the denizen of Twercania would be enough of a handful.

It was then that I, Gotterdammerung, decided to take the lead for my dear mistress and drag her through the soaring city-spires of bookcases and arches. It was as empty as one would expect, with a dearth of what one would consider a living object, and the environment's nature seemed to drain away the very force that gave us consciousne

e gave to us a set time that he would let us return with the book. My Mimi-mistress returned the level of sentience of I, Gotterdammerung, back to its original state as we walked away from the immortal whom my mistress did not trust, not simply because this immortal had, she told me after, spoken to them only through books and booming voices. My Mimi-mistress had created another doll out of the book, and transferred part of her communication power to the doll, but did not name it, for from the beginning my Mimi-mistress instilled the inevitability of death in the doll so that she herself could sever connections to it through mere business, in order to make sure that they would get the book on time. She had decided to reduce my consciousness in a quick way of making sure the denizen did not instantly read her memories through the shell of I, Gotterdammerung. I, Gotterdammerung, considered my Mimi-mistress a very wise mistress, but in a flash her thoughts seemed to block out the other components of Twercania and I, Gotterdammerung, re-took my position on the helm within her arms.

The immortal never did show my mistress the pretty flowers, and I, Gotterdammerung, felt that what was once beautiful had been tarnished by apathy and fleeting desire. I told my Mimi-mistress this, and she simply giggled but did not say anything.

It took quite a bit of time, but eventually, the party was back at the Blazing Victory tavern of Fairwyn, where I, Gotterdammerung, noted that little had changed in our absence.

Anthea watched in shock as Sienna used her lightning powers, but slightly breathed a sigh of relief when the only thing that happened was that the power went out.

But, when she saw her attempt again, she ran over and attempted to restrain her, "Sienna, don't!"

"I must to teach this meanies a lesson!" Sienna replied, trying to break free.

"But there is no need to, Sienna! And how can you even see where you're going in here?"

"I just know, now..."

"Sienna, don't!" as she started up her abilities, Anthea pinned her down and was able to (at least sort of) restrain her.

BAM!

Anthea looked around, the lights were back on, but Sienna was out cold.

No...no... Sienna!!! She thought.

It was obvious that the Lord of the Valens was back in business and not to happy about it seemed. But they'd done the bell thing hours ago. And still nothing bad seemed to have happened. As he sat at few tables grouped together so that their clan could sit together and think, Darren figured they had two routes to explore now. One was too see if the meathead Imperialists militia had discovered anything in the Hall of Games during their absences. Or to pack it up and go home, facing what comes as it comes, in their respective territories. The trouble maker in him did want to investigate the castle again, it seemed so limitless and cavernous, despite being creepy. On top of that, the militia might have discovered something potentially interesting. Sighing he voiced his opinions and decided that he would be heading home. He had spent too much time playing around with this ... mystery, and it was time to head home.

He didn't quite know what to say in terms of good bye, but he did so cordially. He didn't show it on his face but his mind was whirling in thought, this God Returns thing was distressing to anyone, wasn't it? Especially if that God was upset with what had happened to his kingdom in his absence. No heir, no unity, no one even remembering his name. Most thinking that he was some kind of myth. He couldn't imagine what that must be like. But come what may, he'd make sure his territory was secured as much as possible first. After his goodbyes he made sure to edge his way past the city's drinking citizens and also made sure to see if the coast was clear before he revved up his legs, in a blur of movement he was gone before you could even blink.

Sometimes accelerated speed came with accelerated thinking. Which meant that since he only had himself to preoccupy his time with, he spent the whole time thinking. Where did Crestatia go? What would the others do? He was no detective, but it killed him to not be able to investigate this further. It was kind of like a book brought to life! He shook his head as he sped around hills and valleys, making sure to skirt around territories with some kind of security for foreigners, he had to be serious about this as well. Who knew what the God of Aether was planning, now that he'd returned home disappointed. He wondered if there was a way to send the being back where he came, or ask for another extension on time. After all, he seemed to like wherever he was enough to stay there for He knew how long. Darren frowned as his feet were greeted by the soft track that covered the perimeter of his home, he was not going to be able to relax for who knew how long now.
