    Jex gasped out when landed on the ground, curling up into a ball on the ground. He wheezed, trying to catch the breath he lost on impact from Tyrant's blows. His head buzzed with new information flooding into his mind; a group, wiping out people like him... Blows to the head interrupted his thoughts, but not for long. Jex grappled Tryant's ankle and pulled the grown man as hard as he could, trying to throw him off balance. Jex then let go and rolled away, forcing himself to stand on his feet and raise his fists up. He saw red and yellow stars cross his vision, standing hunched in the shoulders to ease the throbbing pain in his stomach, back, and head. Flashbacks of his life before everything became chaotic flooded his mind. Blood, carnage, screams soon rang in his head afterwards. His whole family was almost wiped out. Someone knew they had powers... Someone knew about their powerful family line...

    He panted as droplets of blood began to run down his face and spill on the ground. "You want... revenge?" Jex's hoarsely spilled out, blinking his violet eyes rapidly as everything seemed a little blurry. "Revenge... Is like a drug... You can never be satisfied... And killing someone... Just because.... They match your profile of ideal target... Is pretty stupid. I'm not going around.... Hurting 'normal' people... Like you."

    Jex began to step back, circling the man widely to try to avoid any more hits. "Blaming our powers for stuff that happened... Is like blaming the weather for it not to go your way... We didn't ask for this... We didn't want this... It happened... Why can't we live in harmony now? Why can't we make this right...? Who is this organization to tell us how we should live?" Jex felt the blood boil inside and the pain stopped momentarily. "Do you know... A man named Vlasis Ben Ingrao?"

    As soon as Jean made eye contact with her and spoke words of reassurance, the young mother felt peace in her heart. No one had cared for her and her children like this in a long time. She thought she was alone all these years and felt the weight on her shoulders to not only take care of herself, but her kids as well. She loved them so much. She was grateful someone else cared for them too, and her.

    Nicole softly smiled, keeping her emotions of gratitude at bay. "Thank you... Thank you so much for everything you've done for us so far." She then stood up, brushing her apron out. "When can we get started then?" She was eager to do it as soon as possible. If she was required to march out the door this instant, she would not hesitate. Her son had been missing far too long... And maybe Colton would be saved if all was not well in the end.

    ~~~~~~
    Kye raised her eyebrows in mid sip, interested with the question. "Put the tiger with the monkeys... Risky, risky." She smacked her lips, finishing the last of her drink and slammed the cup on the table to declare she was done. "Crazy eyes makes a wise mind. All in, I am." She then giggled darkly, resting her gloved fingers on the edge of her hat. "Hold back, try not scratch..."
    This was going to be interesting.
    ~~~~~~~

    First Danni was stopped by being grabbed by Brendan. She lowered her fist when she realized who it was, and listened to him. Getting out of here was nice, getting a drink, maybe that would calm her down. She opened her mouth to speak, but then was interrupted by Noah. His voice... That annoying twit...

    His gums just kept flapping, irritating the red head even more. It was like poking an angry bear with a stick.

    When Noah placed a hand casually on her shoulder, something inside of her snapped. In one quick motion, Danni gave Noah a hard punch in the face, stepping back from the arrogant teen. She pulled her arm back, shaking it out as her anger was boiling over. "DON'T YOU EVER TRY TO TOUCH ME AGAIN! DO YOU HEAR?!" Her voice boomed in the hallway, her chest heaved up and down from the adrenalin that was being pumped through her body. Noah was lucky she didn't use psionic punch on him. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!" Danni felt like she was going to explode if she stayed around longer. She didn't feel like serving justice or cause more trouble than what she was already in.

    Suddenly, she broke out into a run, needing to get away from everyone and everything. She didn't bother to tell everyone where she was. It was raining, outside was good. She burst through the doors leading outside and into the academy gardens, running straight to the hedge maze. She knew her way around and ran around familiar twists and turns until she found an alcove with vines twisting around the metal arch way and covered with bushes and flowers.

    A lone stone bench sat there, untouched by the rain. A small, golden metal plac was cemented in the bench that read "In Memory of Ciar Simon, Roxana Romilly Simon, and Saundra Simon. May you forever rest in peace." She slowed her pace, doubling over while resting her hands on her elbows, catching her breath again. Her shoulders shuddered as water droplets fell from her hair and rolled off the bridge of her nose. Danni felt like a complete and total mess right now. She didn't mind that the smiling pictures of her deceased family were staring at her from the stone hedges made for each lost family member. This whole hedge maze was dedicated not only to Danni's family, but others that were lost and were dear to each members of the academy.

    Danni stayed where she was, refusing to move or break down and cry. Nothing felt private anymore with so many telepathists running around.

    ~~~~~~~
    Molly gasped when a green teddy bear came up to her. She watched it hesitantly, and then was taken off guard when the bear took her hand and then jumped playfully. Molly giggled, stepping out of hiding. She then suddenly noticed a boy with a hood on and another looking at the strange board. Molly walked over with the bear in hand, and quietly looked up. She saw a lot of faces under some words, and then recognized a face up there... Carter.
    The girl frowned, realizing that people like Carter were up on the board. She looked at the two boys staring at the board, and then jumped when a third boy came out of no where, acting angry and grouchy. Sheesh. What was his problem? But she knew. People were being too loud in their heads.
    ~~~~~

    Strain was now finished with his fighting bots and decided to work on a smaller, intricate level; biomechs. He was no longer in an observation room, but a personal lab on the premises.

    In front of Lyle was Mai, sitting against an examination chair. She was not strapped down or restrained in any way. She was barely recognizable, her body covered in all sorts of bruises, cuts, gashes, and scrapes. One eye was already bruising and blood shot as if a vessel had bursts while the other one was wide open, staring into nothing and glassy. Mai was hooked up to all sorts of monitors, a heart monitor beeped in a steady, sluggish pace behind her. Her right arm was facing up, showing a web of purple like vines underneath her skin and a small, tiny dot was at the center of the visible veins, indicating she was injected with something that made her like this.

    "Tell me in detail, why the sudden willingness for someone else? Why forgo your own health for a stranger?" Strain asked with no emotion, writing things down.

    "No one will look for me," Mai said flatly, glossy eyes staring off. "My parents gave me up. I do not know why, my grandma raised me. She took care of me. They were scared of me. Scared that I knew what they were thinking. Colton has friends. Colton has friends that will look for him. No one will look for me."

    Lyle pressed his lips in a fine line. These biomechs were filled with a type of serum that made people receptive to suggestion and talk about things they would not normally say or to keep things a secret. It was almost like mind reading, but this type of mechanism made it able to almost control the brain of the other, make them zombie-like. "Do his friends have powers too?"

    "Yes," Mai said without hesitation. "They have powers like me and him. They might find him soon..."

    Lyle wrote down the words that Mai said. This was of some concern... This whole operation to kidnap someone themselves was having a domino effect on EVERYONE in this lab. It was good they would attract those with powers, but if they outnumbered them...

    Suddenly Mai's pale skin began to flush and the girl's heart rate began to spike rapidly.

    "Mai, what's wrong?"

    The girl swallowed, but it seemed almost difficult and even painful for her to do. "I'm sick. I'm not feeling..."

    Mai suddenly bolted upright, and Lyle was quick to grab a bucket. The girl began to spew the contents in her belly and the smell of vile stomach acids filled the air. Lyle watched unflinchingly, checking the contents of the bucket. The girl heaved again, and this time the yellow liquid turned into a dark red. One look, and he knew what it was; blood.

    Lyle set down the bucket when Mai leaned back, beginning to hyperventilate as blood began to trickle down her nose in a steady stream and out the corner of her mouth. It seemed as if Mai's body was trying to fight against the biomechs, which was highly unusual in Lyle's study. Quickly, he pulled out a syringe with while liquid and a needle, and stabbed it in Mai's arm, pumping the antidote in her veins. It was technically a virus for the biomechs which would destroy them and dissolve them within the subject's body. They would then leave the human body in a form of a waste of sorts.

    Mai's heart rate began to decrease again, and she began to breath unsteadily. She moaned, leaning her head on the cool padding on the chair. Her body began to shake as chills riddled her fragile frame. Lyle realized he needed blood that was uncontaminated...

    Figuring the subject would not go anywhere, Strain exited the room and headed straight to Lucas's lab. He hardly acknowledged Isabella's presence and ignored the fact someone was at the door. He was on a mission. "Lucas, has your subject been contaminated with anything yet? I require his blood... My subject had an unexpectant allergic reaction to my biomechs."

    Carter stayed quiet, watching the adults coming and going from the room. He was helpless to do anything, and he was afraid of speaking to invoke more painful procedures or crazy test. When he saw the woman, he cringed at her strange bubbiliness. How could anyone be so happy like that around here? And then the robot man came in and asked the white hair guy for blood... His blood? Carter stiffened under the restraints. Were they going to kill him?

    ~~~~~~~~
    "She is quite the fragile girl when it comes to us interfering with what she does." Benjamin took off his reading glasses and set them on the table. "Fragile as in anything can set her off. She is like a time bomb... We can't afford any more disasters. Our organization and what it stands for will be tarnished with blood by her hands and anyone else who will be with her..." He sighed, shaking his head. "You are her father, I am just a grumpy old man. We can't send her on recon missions or to check on those on the watch list. Bounties just make her even more blood thirsty... Community service might make her frustrated to the point where she will kill the puppies AND the people... Frankly, she's proving herself to be less and less of a member of Raven Sun and more of a..."
    He trailed off, not finding the appropriate word. "Well, I assume you already mulled this over. I believe she's beyond our help."
    The man fell to the ground, but quickly regained his balance. Tyrant looked at the boy's injuries, and noticed blood falling down to the ground from his mouth. He was in pain, but Tyrant had to remain in his view. There had to be casualties, and this kid was part of a disease that had to be eradicated.
    "Blaming our powers for stuff that happened... Is like blaming the weather for it not to go your way... We didn't ask for this... We didn't want this... It happened... Why can't we live in harmony now? Why can't we make this right...? Who is this organization to tell us how we should live?"
    He remained to have a grimace on his face, and thought about his daughter. He needed to protect her future, and he had to take out these psychics before they spread. Chaos would emerge.
    "I'm sorry, kid. I really am, but this is the way it has to be. You do not belong in this world, and I need to stop this disease before it spreads further. There is a future I have to protect," he said.
    "Do you know... A man named Vlasis Ben Ingrao?" Jex asked.
    Tyrant shook his head, and charged straight in. He knocked him down to the ground, and began to punch Jex repeatedly on the head, trying to knock him out. Tyrant wanted to give him mercy so he decided to knock him out before shooting him. The mall was clear now, and he had the opportunity to shoot. He knew how Tyrant felt, and felt sympathetic. This had to be done for his daughter. He kept thinking of his family being in that building, and his daughter being so silent ever since.
    "I know, I know." Jason said getting a little worked up himself. "I messed up. I made a mistake bringing her here. I should have left her to the authorities or something after she killed her mother. I shouldn't have taught her more in fighting. It was my mistake for thinking that I could make her useful after she clearly had issues. I am sorry. I don't know what to do with her though. You know as well as I do that throwing her out would be more dangerous, for the world and for us. I wouldn't put it past her to expose us out of spite, and for her to cause huge problems." Jason looked up knowing what the best option was, but he couldn't. "I know... I need to terminate her, not the mission, but... I just can't bring myself to do with it." He said looking rather sad.
    "Tobias won't listen to me, the boy has no respect. If you take care of taking him off the mission I would take care of Cynthia. I just need anew mission to give her, something to satisfy her blood lust and distract her for now. It is either that or send Tobias away but as soon as he gets back he will be wanting to join her again and won't take no for an answer, both risky moves, but what other choices do we have?" This whole thing was giving him a head ache. If only Cynthia could have been normal, or less violent.
    "Detention? Do you think I would let you off that easy after the stunt that you just pulled.And if you didn't notice she didn't come to me. I walked into this situation myself." Brendan stated after Danni had punched Noah and ran off. "I want a five page report on the hibernation habits of bears, and a ten page report on how a computer works. I will be checking if you copied the reports from anywhere else. And I want them in to me first thing tomorrow morning. That should keep you busy today and out of peoples hair. If it is not complete you will have higher ups to deal with than me. Trust me, you don't want to deal with that." Brendan threatened before turning to walk in the direction that Danni had left.
    As he walked away Brendan was going to try to send a telepathic message to Danni, but considering that he would have to read her mind to get the answer, so she couldn't select what she wanted to reply he decided it best just to text her. He already knew where she was going, not because he wanted to but because he couldn't turn off his damn mind reading. It was annoying and distracting and he hated to encroach on others privacy like that. He however wouldn't go there until she had said it was okay to, he didn't want to overstep his boundaries.
    "Hey Danni, are you okay? Would you like to talk about it? Don't worry I will make sure that Noah doesn't follow, he has more than enough to keep him busy now. Please I just want to help." That was what the text that Brendan sent read. He didn't have much else to do until she replied so he settled on a bench just outside the building. "I don't need this just after I woke up." He sighed.
    As Kye gave her confirmation that she would go with him, Lucas nodded. Part of him still thought it was a bad idea, but there was no going back now. "Excellent. It's not too far from here, if you'd care to follow me that would be most helpful" the investigator stated, sounding just a little too formal as he did so.
    [IMG]
    “And you are?”
    Hmmm....was this man Lyle Strain? Shane didn't remember seeing any pictures; nobody he'd read the mind of had known anything. "Shane. Shane Ware, are you Lyle Strain?" he asked. As he spoke, he began probing the man's mind. Looking at his memories and reading his thoughts, it was pretty obvious that he wasn't the guy Shane was looking for. He was, however, someone that knew him and someone that could take him to it. "Y'know, you don't look much like a Lyle to me. More of a...hmmm...I want to say...Luke? The name doesn't matter. I'd like to speak with Lyle Strain, can you go and ask him to come and speak with me?" the telepath asked, utilizing his power of pushing to put the want to do as he said in Lucas' mind.
    Right as he finished putting the idea into the scientist's mind, Shane heard another voice. Well, not so much a voice, but rather words being spoken to him in his mind. Another telepath, a person like him.
    "Hellllooooo. Who is there? Who are you? What are you doing here?" the telepathic voice asked. Immediately Shane went on the defensive and tried to read this person's mind. He couldn't hear anything. That was odd, he hadn't had that happen before. Did she have some ability to make her immune to his powers? "My name's Shane. I'm here to see Lyle Strain" he sent back.
    "Why do you want to meet that boring fart? I am far more awesome and you know like to work with real people. He is all robotic and stuff. You know those movies that robots take over the world, when that happens I wager that he will be the one creating those robots. Anyways enough with my rambling, why in the world would you want to see him? He is SUCH a bore." Isabella had sent. So, that ruled out immunity. He hadn't asked anybody, but he imagined if they were completely immune then they wouldn't even hear his responses. Perhaps she had some way of simply blocking mind reading. He made a mental note to find out about that if he could. First, though, he needed help. Could he trust this person? He wasn't entirely sure, but there wasn't much of a choice; Lucas had confirmed this was the right place, so if he wanted to get in he had to be a little open with people. He concentrated on the memory of him using his powers to force people to kill themselves, the gruesome memory being sent to his new friend. "So people don't suffer any longer because of me" he added.
    "I can help with that! I am an expert in human abnormalities, including powers. Oh and I am working with a subject right now to discover more of their origins. I can use what I am learning from him to help you. I mean it would require some tests but I am sure I could do it."
    This was good. Someone to help him with his powers, that was what he had come for. Not only that, but an expert on it, that was even better. He wondered what tests she was speaking of. Would they be simple written tests, perhaps standard question and answer sessions? Or was it something else entirely? He couldn't wait to find out. However, as good as his new friend claimed to be, Lyle was a professional, or at least that's what everyone had seemed to think. Best to get the opinions of both.
    "Sounds great, that's what I came here for. Still, I'd like to talk to Strain before making any decisions, see what he's thinking and all"
    "Fair enough."
    Shane waited patiently for just a moment, for either the voice to come into his mind once more or for Lyle to approach the door. However, neither happened. He felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around to see a very serious looking individual.
    "Can I help you?" Lucas/Lukey asked. It was unusual to see someone standing around there; he couldn't remember many visitors for Lyle. Immediately he heard a message in his head; a request from Isabella.
    "Lukey, guess what! That boy is a telepath. He wants our help. Do you mind bringing him in. Hopefully the snooze fest that is Lyle will meet us soon. The kid wants to talk to him and it is rude to leave him outside like that."
    A slight smirk appeared on the investigator's face as he heard what Isabella said. Yes, I suppose it would be rather rude of us to leave a guest in the cold, Lucas thought to himself, though Isabella wouldn't have been able to hear it. Another person with powers, another one for him to bring in. This day was getting better and better. "Kye, I'd like you to meet someone. This boy here is a telepath" he said.
    Alarm bells rang through Shane's head. He couldn't seem to get anything useful from the guy before him, he kept getting information that he was sure wasn't what was actually going through his head. He couldn't see into his memories either, just a heap of static, as though his mind were a television program experiencing technical difficulties. He tensed up and went to turn around, but the instructions that followed caused him to stop.
    "Three weeks ago, we found a boy that tried to get away from us, as well as a girl that tried to help him. The girl suffered a serious gunshot wound from a lengthy distance away, the boy a broken arm, several bruises, and shattered pride. If I managed to do that to two telekinetics, what do you suppose your chances of me missing and you surviving this encounter are should you try to get past me? Just turn around and walk through the door. We'll get you nice and acquainted with the people here. You'll be staying for a while" Lucas stated in a relatively neutral tone, holding his gun pointed at the boy.
    Shane didn't like the sound of that. Staying for a while. So he was now a prisoner. That was one thing Shane had caught from that, another was that the man had known about his powers. Not just that he had powers, but that he had telepathy? It didn't take Shane long to figure out how. "Well it looks like I don't have much of a choice. Your friend here's seen to that. Funny, I heard about a few of Strain's experiments but I never heard anything about a telepathic rat" Shane sent to Isabella.
    " What are you talking about Lyle doesn't work with rats, he works with robotics.... Oh you are talking about me. I am no rat. I just asked my friend to bring you inside it is rude to leave you out there like that. Though I think I saw that another college was on his way to get the door for you. OH well. The more the merrier right?"
    Despite his circumstances, a small smile appeared on Shane's face. He was scared, and on the inside he was needing a change of pants, but he wouldn't allow them to see that if he could help it. No, he had to convince them that he had expected it, that he was completely fine with it. The more co-operative he was, the less gruelling it would be, in theory. "I should be furious or terrified, but I'm not. In fact, I haven't been this relaxed in weeks. I'm getting the help I need, you get to run all the tests you like, it's a win on both fronts. You have a rather interesting personality, Voice, I would very much like to meet you. What would you say to dinner at my new place this evening?" Shane sent, attempting to make conversation with the person that had just stabbed him in the back. Part of what he said was true. While he was terrified so he was most certainly not relaxed, he did find the way this person spoke intriguing. He hadn't met many people that talked like that, and even fewer that had a power like his. Stepping into the door, he walked inside and was directed to Lyle Strain by Lucas.
    "Strain, we got another lab rat for you to play with" Lucas said.
    [IMG]
    Tobias followed Cynthia to her flat, and as she sat down on the couch he sat down on the cushion next to her, listening closely to what she said. "Yup. You almost had everything. You forgot that the Silent Killer never leaves anyone alive... except one lucky girl. The one that got away, Kye. And his victims always die as if they had some sort of brain failure but they were perfectly healthy before. Probably explains why Kye lived, that girl's always seemed a little on the crazy side, and not in a good way" the boy said.
    "After looking at all this, I have come to the grand conclusion that the killer is in fact...Jason Enger!" he announced, pointing a finger into the air dramatically and pausing for effect. "Okay, I got nothin'. I saw this video earlier about some black haired guy who was crazy, had an oddly high-pitched voice, and had brilliant detective skills. He was also upset about not being Batman, and loved jumping into windows. Kinda weird if you ask me. I figured I'd give it a shot but the truth is I'm pretty horrible at solving mysteries. I generally interrogate people to find out information that way, then go and kill the target; that's the part I specialise in. I just figured it might impress ya. Although...now that I think about it...if they're dying from brain failure but they were perfectly healthy there's probably some kind of chemical or something put into their brain before death, yeah? Why not ask a doctor or someone like that if there's any kind of injections that cause brain failure?" Tobias suggested, after finishing an explanation that made him sound stupid and ended up making him somewhat useful.
    [IMG]
    Christie didn't release her binding. "He has a gun? We're in America, we all have guns!" she exclaimed. "If the military and police come back, they'll be all over the guy waving a gun around and then we can use that confusion to get out of here with Jex. If anything, them coming would be a good thing, just let them-" she started, before looking right at Ryan's eyes. She could see the worry in them. She remembered the fear going through her, the desperation as Colton had been taken away. She knew what the fear of failure could do...what if Ryan was right? What if Jex couldn't handle himself? She would be responsible for another member of the academy going missing...she wasn't going to have that.
    Christie released the binding.
    "Okay, fine. We'll go help him, make sure he's okay. But don't just run in there blindly, think things through or we'll be no better off than.." the girl started, but she couldn't finish the statement. No better off than Colton, she wanted to say. Did Ryan know what she was going to say?
    Jex didn't have time to dodge or roll away when Tyrant charged and knocked him down. Painful blow after painful blow began to rain down on the boy, and he could do nothing to stop it. Danni would be so upset with him right now. This reminded him of when he was seven.... When the man came into his house and stabbed him repeatedly, over and over again. He then received thoughts of a girl, a little one, almost the same age as Molly... This man just wanted to protect her.
    I understand, Jex reached out to the man's mind. The white flag was now burned, it was time to use whatever ability he had left. He then received thoughts that the man wanted to show him mercy by knocking him out and shooting him in the head. I need to protect someone too...
    Jex finally grasped the man's fist, finally finding whatever strength he had left. He then twisted Tyrant's wrist as hard as he could before forcing himself to roll away. He stumbled to stand up, but then lost his footing and fell to the ground. He was disoriented, unable to help himself further as his ears began to ring and the pain throbbed through his skull.
    Christie, now would be a good time to knock this guy out, Jex sent out to the girl. I got the information I need... I can't...
    The thought trailed off as Jex curled into a fetal position on the ground, unable to get away. A huge headache pounded heavily at his skull before everything suddenly stopped. He fell unconscious.
    "HEY!"
    The pink haired girl was standing not too far away from Tyrant. Her fists were clenched, her eyebrows furrowed. "That's not very nice. Eat this!" The girl raised her hand and aimed at Tyrant's head. A cannon of rainbow feathers suddenly sprayed at the man, along with what appeared to be bubbles floating around. They were just bubbles, nothing more. But Kiki wanted to distract Tyrant, turn his attention on her instead of Ryan's friend.
    ~~~~~~~

    Danni was taking in slow and even breaths, trying to calm down her thudding heart in her chest. She hated being touched, she hated being caught off guard by that. Why would a guy go out of his way to insult her only to turn around at a flip of a switch and suddenly want to be with her? It made no sense. She felt violated, confused, messed up. The guy only kissed her, but she wasn't ready for that. Then he ignored her feelings and touched her shoulder, claiming she needed to be more happy and that she would be with him... Danni rubbed at her shoulder to try to get the creepy feeling off and then rubbed at her lips. Her pocket then vibrated, making her jump out of her skin. She pulled out her phone, checking her alerts. A text. Well that was a first in a while. And it was from Brendan. Sighing out, her thumbs wrote out a reply:

    You know where to find me.

    Danni sent the message and slipped the phone back in her pocket. She then looked up, seeing the smiling faces of her family staring at her. She walked to her mom's statue, leaning her head against her cold shoulder. "I miss you," she whispered, closing her eyes tightly as she clenched one fist.

    ~~~~~~
    Kye followed behind Lucas closely, not letting the man out of her sight. She knew if she was left alone for ONE minute, it would be hard to resist taking her aggression out on the projects these wacky scientists were conducting. To her, they were playing with fire. It would burn them eventually, but they didn't care. Lucas then introduced her to a visitor, a telepathist of sorts. She smirked, pulling her hat more snuggly over her head. "No brain fun here," she said under her breath as she kept a creepy yellow eye on the guy. She then began to sing quietly in the melody of Hickory-Dickory-Dock. "Hippidy-dippidy-nab, the mouse ran into the lab. The lab nabbed him, the mouse was trapped, hippidy-dippidy-nab."
    Strain looked rather annoyed when he was addressed, turning to see the government official, one of Raven Sun's eyes, and a boy. Another lab rat, was this some kind of joke? "You will have to excuse me, I'm in the middle of something." Lyle then looked to Vincent, emotionless. "I need the boy's blood." He then looked the newcomer. "Do you have any diseases, illnesses, medication, or drugs in your system? What is your blood type? I need an AB or O." His subject had AB negative, a very rare blood type. It seemed to have pop up the most in those with powers, but sometimes it didn't. Strain needed good blood to work with to help flush out the poison in his subject's body an replenish the blood she lost already. He was becoming impatient, knowing that time was wasting.
    ~~~~~~

    Benjamin hummed out, taking a bounty list and looking it over. "No need to beat yourself over this Jason. You tried your best with what you got. I suggest the other bounties might be able to quench her thirst, the ones that want them dead or alive.... As for Tobias, don't worry about him. As I said before, he will go check up on an agent in Reno... Rumor has it he has become reckless in his work, probably due to his grief. It is unacceptable though."

    Isabella busied her self with her illusion magic doing as Vincent asked her, messing with the boy that was his subject in whatever way asked of her. This went on for a little while until Lyle walked in the room asking about a blood sample for his subject. "I would offer my subject but he is sick and India pumped him full of chemicals again so that is no good, sorry." Isabella said with a pout as she explained the situation of her own subject Colton.

    Soon after Isabella heard a reply from Shane in her mind. Not long after that he walked through the door lead by Lukey. And Lukey brought a lady friend. First thing that Isabella did was walk over to Shane. "My name is Isabella, not voice. And no one could handle having dinner with someone so awesome as me. Maybe next time kid." She said pinching his cheek before walking to Kye. "You must be Lukey's girlfriend that I hear him talk to. It is so nice to meet you. I am Isabella, or Bella for short." Isabella said creating her name in sparkles once more. "Oh if we are showing off projects then I will go get mine. I think India is done with him now!" Isabella said as she ran off to go get Colton. She was always proud of her work, even if Colton was not well and her accomplishments were not things she did to him but simply using him.

    Cynthia nodded as Tobias filled in the rest, she knew that much but she wanted him to feel like he was doing something and was special. He could feel like he did well for once. However he didn't stop at filing her in on what she had left out. He continued on to talk about who the Silent killer was. He tried to say it was her father and Cynthia rolled her eyes. "Yes and I am Mother Teresa." She responded in time for him to go on and explain that he really didn't know anything and was making it all up as he went. "You realize that you will NEVER impress me and NEVER get into my pants. Get that through your thick skull."

    Cynthia got up and started to pace. "What do we have on telepaths and telekinetic powers. If it was a chemical by now someone would have figured it out, found it in their system. Since that hasn't happened perhaps we should look at the powers people could have and see if any of them might cause brain failure." Cynthia suggested getting back on task not letting Tobias' stupidity get to her. The sooner she completed this task and found the Silent Killer, the sooner that she got to murder him.

    With a reply from Danni Brendan got up and ready to head over. Before he did however he circled back inside to get a couple cups of coffee, then he headed towards the hedge maze. Brendan had no problem navigating it, not because he had done it a lot but because one time through was all he needed to make a mental map of the entire area making it incredibly easy to navigate. It didn't take long before he found Danni leaning her head against the statue of her mother, not looking to great.

    Taking a seat on the bench by the girl he offered her one of the coffee's before taking a sip of the other. "Don't let him get to you. He thinks he is the best thing in the world. Boy does he have it wrong." Brendan chuckled slightly trying to lighten the mood a bit. "Anyways is there anything you would like to talk about. I am always here to just listen." He told her. He couldn't imagine what she had gone though. He hadn't seen his family for nine years but that was to keep him safe. He was sure that his family was safe, if they weren't someone would have contacted him by now. So he held hope that they were fine. He had to hold on to something right. But Danni had her family torn from her. The pain would be unbearable.

    Jason glanced over the bounty list for one to suite his daughter, in the mean time he had another concern that he was sure Benjamin had already thought of but felt the need to ask him about it anyways. "Are you sure Tobias is the best to send. I know we have to separate them but would he not just encourage the man more. Tobias isn't known to be a good influence to anyone. I mean according to Kye's report he was the one that initiating the killing the first time was Tobias, Cynthia had threatened a man but no blood was shed, not until Tobias initiated was there blood." He explained. Perhaps he was just over thinking things. "Either way I will terminate the mission first thing tomorrow, after collecting reports of course. We can pass those on to whoever takes it next. Hopefully that person can get the job done with less blood shed."

    As soon as Ryan was released, he ran towards the unconscious Jex. He didn't care about strategy. There wasn't enough time for that. However, as he saw the pink haired girl blind the man, it was time to strike. He sprinted as fast as he could. He was angry at what was going on. Why wasn't he allowed to help him before?

    Tyrant cried in pain as Jex twisted his wrist. He didn't expect that seeing how exhausted the kid was. He gritted his teeth with a tear in his eye as he looked down at Jex's unconscious body. He didn't want to kill him at that point. He was right, but at the same time, he had to be stopped. They knew about his daughter too because he read his mind. As soon as he was about to reach for his gun, the girl sprayed him with bubbles in his eyes. They began to burn them and Tyrant tried to wipe them away. His vision was blurred, but he tried to backslap the girl away before Ryan charged in.

    Ryan with furious golden eyes, rushed in and landed a strike on Tyrant's face, knocking him back into a bench 100m away with his psionic strength. Ryan then zoomed towards the man, and began to punch him repeatedly in the stomach and the face. Tyrant with his strength began to gasp, blood began to run down his mouth.
    "Please.....my daughter......she......needs.......me......." he said in gasps as Ryan punched him. Ryan looked in horror as he just noticed what he did in his rage. He widened his eyes, and stood back up.
    "I-I-I'm sorry..." he stammered, feeling terrible for what he just did. He could have killed a father to a daughter. Tyrant was unable to fight back as he squealed in pain from the damage that Ryan caused.
    "I'm......sorry........too...." Tyrant said back. "I...was...fighting...for...her..."

    Tyrant decided that he could not fight against them. They were too strong, and after what he witnessed and heard from Jex, they too were human. They may have powers, but they could control them. Also, they knew about his daughter. If he remained sympathetic, they won't hurt her. He believed they wouldn't though. The kid that just pummeled him in less than a minute was just trying to protect his friend.
    The Raven Sun are going to be angry.
    Leaving her with the psychics was the best option right now. His daughter could be used against him. She needed protection. He looked up at the boy with weary eyes.
    "Can...you...protect...my...daughter?" he asked.
    Ryan nodded willingly.
    "Yes, anything. I'm so sorry!" Ryan replied, willing to apologize again and again. He looked over to Christie, and shouted, "Can you look after him? I need to get to Jex!"

    Ryan ran back to Jex with tears running down his face. His mouth was covered in blood, and his eyes were closed. Ryan immediately touched his wrist to see if he still had a pulse. He did.
    Thank god...
    Ryan held his bloodied face with his soft hands with his golden eyes beaming down at him with concern.
    He sent Jex a message, "Everything is fine. We are safe. Wake up."

    "That's why I'm sending him there, I'm afraid the agent has gone rogue... We need to cut some lose strings before anything else gets out of hand." Benjamin smirked a bit, shaking his head as he picked up his glasses. "I appreciate you terminating the mission though. I was rather concerned about it."

    ~~~~~~
    "Everything has been so stupid," Danni muttered, reverently touching her mother's memorial. She then pushed away from the stone, turning to face Brendan. Her eyes were tired, her body showing she was exhausted from the emotional roller coaster. Angry Danni was tucked away for now. "The kidnapping, people being stupid, me being stupid..."
    She sighed, siting heavily on the stone bench. "I was hard on Colton... Because I knew he could do something if just freaking tried instead of half-assing it." She gave Brendan a look. "Don't you dare say this to anyone else." Her eyes then looked to the ground and she ran her fingers through her fiery hair. "Now he's gone, Old Man is at his wits end, and everyone is on edge. I'm on edge. I can't think straight. I don't want anyone else to die. I don't want anyone else to get seriously hurt." She looked at her older sister's picture as sadness danced across her eyes. "Why do people want to kill us? Why do they think it's okay to take someone against their will? Who is targeting us? How many are there...?" She sighed out heavily, resting her head on her hands. "Just too many ****ing questions not being answered..."
    ~~~~~
    Kiki stood there, dumbfounded where all of this was suddenly going. Ryan went and beat the living daylights of the crazy brute and then the man went on about protecting his daughter, and Ryan stopped. She blinked her eyes rapidly, whistling lowly. "Wow, okay then!" She went over to the beat up man, crouching down beside him. "Why the sudden change of heart, hm?"

    Jex was breathing shallowly. He didn't know if any bones had been broken or not, but if he woke up, there probably would have been a few fractures. He was stupid, trying to talk to the man to get some answers. He didn't wake up, he had reached his limit. He received so many blows to his head that all connection was fizzled out for the time being. His face was barely recognizable to anyone
    ~~~~~~~
    Rose's eyes shot open and she sat up in her bed, feeling something was terribly wrong. "Jex? JEX?!" She screamed out loud as well as in her head. She stood up, pacing back and forth. She couldn't reach him for some reason, but she could feel the connection still. Now the line felt completely dead. "Please be okay," she whispered as tears came to her eyes. "Please be okay..."
    Ryan heard sirens blazing around the mall as Ryan caressed his hair just like he did three weeks ago. He stared at the damage that Tyrant made on him, and felt a surge of anger run through him. He wanted to beat him up so bad, but in his mind, he thought of a young daughter being alone. Maybe she didn't have a mother? How would his family feel if he was permanently injured or even perished by his hand just like the other man?
    Kiki asked him why he stopped punching the man when he talked about his daughter.
    Ryan looked down at Jex's face. "It's because I'm not a monster. I've already killed someone, and I'm not doing that again. He has a daughter, and if I lost someone that close, I would feel so alone," he said softly. "No one deserves to die."
    "You'll be fine," he calmly told Jex as he stared at his disfigured face. He had to be fine. A tear fell down on his bloodied cheeks. He kissed him on his forehead, trying to reassure that he was there.
    He saw paramedics arrive on the scene in the corner of his eye.
    "Get a stretcher! Quickly!" he shouted before turning back. Within a minute, they came back with one, and placed Jex carefully on the stretcher. Ryan held his hand while they were walking down the mall's halls. He stared at his disfigured face and wondered what was going to happen. Is this a sign of things to come? Are more people going to fight them? He gripped his hand firmer.
    While Ken was looking over the various jobs that were posted on the board, he couldn’t help but to listen in to what was being said around him. First there was the guy who questioned why one of the two little girls was signing up for a mission before patting Leif on the back as a way of getting his attention.
    “That depends on what mission you want to go on.” Leif plainly stated. He was barely fazed by pat on his back. Lashing out just because he was still annoyed at himself wouldn’t help with his issues at all, so he tried not worry about it.
    Following that Ken did something that he rarely ever does. He pulled down his hood of his own accord, revealing his rarely seen silver hair to those who were around. The reasons he did this was so that he wouldn’t appear to be scary when he approached the little girls. So he walked over to them, crouched down on his knees and asked. “Any job in particular you’re looking for?”
    "So mister Serious science guy, what are we going to do and why does your subject look like he might die?"
    “Probably an adverse effect to the electoral treatment he’s been getting to keep him in line. Should his health start slipping, I’ll have Lucas simply fix him up. Can’t have him dying so early on me.” Vincent said. A part of his really hated how he had to be careful about his patient’s life this time around, but it was a little kid whose brain was still developing. Simply extracting his brain wouldn’t do much good in this instance.
    While Isabella had been using her illusions on Carter, Strain had entered the Lab.
    "Lucas, has your subject been contaminated with anything yet? I require his blood... My subject had an unexpectant allergic reaction to my biomechs."
    “Lucas has stepped out at the moment.” Vincent said, Just as Lucas had returned to his lab.
    “He shouldn’t be, nothing in here gets contaminated under my watch. Also some kid is looking for you.” Lucas stated moments after entering the room.
    Since Strain needed Carter’s blood Vincent moved to the table that had everything that was needed and walked over to the restrained boy. “Don’t worry, this won’t hurt a bit.” Due to Moksha not knowing anything about blood donating and such, let's just say that Vincent hooked Carter up and started extracting his blood.
    Strain had hooked up Mai to the new blood once it had been retrieve. He had excused himself, because the situation was urgent and didn't have time to dilly dally. He would talk to the boy soon.
    The scientist stepped back, looking at his handiwork he had made. Mai and Colton would now be in a highly dense clear cage with thick walls.
    There were small picture frames set up symmetrically in the prison each of them with an outside scenery of sorts, fresh lilacs and lavender in a plastic vase, warm, soft, calming lighting, and gentle music with the ocean waves playing in the background on repeat.
    The horrible metal beds were replaced with state of the art hospital beds with fluffy mattresses that made someone feel as if they were on a cloud, and warm blue blankets.
    There were books to read, stationary to write on, crossword and sudoku puzzles to work on a small night stand in between the two beds.
    Mai's bed was surrounded by a sheer cream colored curtain, hiding her view from anyone. She was in poor shape. Bandages were wrapped around her arms, and around her eye that was severely swollen. Her nose and mouth were covered by a full face mask that pumped oxygen into the girl's lungs, which her rib cage was bruised and fractured in some areas. Her breaths were shaky, almost raspy, lips cracked and bleeding a bit. She was also hooked up to a heart monitor, an IV, and a plasma bag, fresh from Carter, and other machinery to keep her alive. The blood had been wiped away from her nose and mouth and her clothes had been changed into something fresher an comfier as if he never had spew blood at all. Her skin was a sickly pale though, but Strain figured it would gradually improve over time.
    He glanced over to his medical robot standing at attention by Carter's nice new empty bed before he closed the curtain, completely obscuring Mai from view. He placed his hands behind his back and patiently waited for Carter's return.
    ~~~~~~

    Carter laid on the operating table, shaking, white as a ghost, eyes bulging as he stare at the ceiling. So many things had happened to him in the last hour that he couldn't wrap his mind around it. He had seen horrible things before, but this was different. Not only did his mind feel violated, but he also had to undergo one of his greatest fear, needles.

    His mouth felt like sandpaper, his throat was sore from screaming from the top of his lungs, and his body felt sticky from the perspiration from trying to fight so hard against the bonds.

    "I wanna go home," his voice cracked, closing his eyes as they stung. "Please, I just want to go home..."

    ~~~~~~~~
    Errol stepped away from the hospital bed, obviously not happy with the way things had been going. He already had to reassure Danni through his mind that Jex was alright and to stay put. He looked at Ryan, his eyes darkened. "Listen kid, you need to be more careful and not run off all by yourself, do you hear me? You could have been killed. You could have gotten someone else killed!" Errol jabbed his finger to his nephew all bandaged up around his head, completely unrecognizable. He faltered and sighed out, pinching the bridge of his nose. There was too much to deal with right now and he didn't have time for this. He didn't want his nephew to wake up, not like this so he decided to leave him asleep for now. Jex had a very bad concussion and had a slight fracture in his skull. As if the kid hadn't been beaten up enough in his life. "I can't stay," he said to Christie and Ryan, massaging his nose. "Time is running short right now. Keep an eye on him, and you," he glared at Ryan. "Stay put. We'll talk more later."
    He then looked to the pink haired girl who stood in a corner, picking up a feather and letting it fall to the ground over and over again. Errol could already sense something wasn't normal about her and looked at Christie. "Make sure she doesn't leave your sight... I'm sorry you've been caught up in all this Christie..." He put a hand on her good shoulder and forced a smile. "Thank you..." He wanted to tell the girl that they were one step closer to finding Carter and maybe Colton, but he didn't want to get her hopes up. "He patted her on the shoulder again, giving her a knowing nod. "We'll talk later as well," he said more gently in a father like way.
    With that, he straightened out his suit jacket and excused himself from the room. He couldn't stay for Jex, Jex wouldn't want his uncle to stay if he knew what he was up to. He found Nicole waiting outside the room, all dressed beautiful for a summer outing, and then to Jean. "Let's go," he murmured, leading the way out of the hospital and to the Summit Mall, a totally different mall from where Ryan and the gang were earlier.
    ~~~~

    Molly smiled shyly when Ken had taken off his hood and crouched down to her level. She quickly shook her head, and then pointed towards Carter's photo. She only felt comfortable talking to Jex, Errol, or Jean through telepathy.

    Ryan stood up from his seat, and followed Errol. He was angry at what he just said to him. This wasn't his fault at all.
    "All I wanted was to get out. I wanted to see the outside world. I was stuck in that room for 3 weeks. How was I supposed to know he would still be able to find me!? Jex was the one who decided to face him, and Christie stopped me from helping Jex when he needed it most," he said, clenching his fist in anger. He wasn't going to fight Errol at all. He respected him, and began to bang the wall three times repeatedly in a rhythm. He was nervous, and he couldn't calm his OCD anymore. He was so angry and upset over Jex being such an idiot. Why did he have to talk to him? If he didn't though, that man would still be after them. He was brave but stupid.
    "Is that it then? My powers have taken my life away? I can't go out to the mall? I can't go for a run? I can't meet with people outside the mansion?" he asked, frustrated at the situation. "I'm sorry. I didn't want this to happen to him!"

    Errol pressed his lips in a thin line, gathering as much patience as he could. He was only angry because he cared, and he knew the boy felt the same way too.

    Nicole watched the young man be frustrated and felt sympathy for him. He was the young man that got shot and came into the mansion the same time as her.

    Errol turned and faced Ryan, looking him dead square in the eye. "We will talk later... I promise. Stay here with Jex, watch over him and that girl while I'm gone... I'll be back in a few hours." Giving Ryan a mission to follow through on the spot, Errol then turned and moved Nicole along out into the now cloudy wet scenery outside.

    ~~~~~~~~
    Errol was hiding in the shadows, ducked behind some crates and boxes out by a dumpster. His eyes were closed, keeping a three way line open with Jean, Nicole, and himself through his mind while using Shadow Cloak while also targeting his spatial sense on anything unusual. He cleared his mind beforehand, making sure Jex and the tumble he got into because of his new friend was tucked away somewhere and would not be distracted. He had even brushed his teeth, combed back his hair, shaved, and actually looked a bit more decent than before.
    Errol pressed his fingers to his temples, zooming in on Nicole and where she was at. This was very hard work, but Errol had practice.
    Nicole was wearing a white sun hat and a simple white summer dress that reached down to the top of her knees. It also had a three finger length strap on her shoulders, the neckline a sweetheart neckline, the back was not at all exposed in any way, and even had a little lace at the bottom with a blue satin sash wrapped round her waist, tied up in a neat bow behind her back. She also had a matching small coin purse that was white and blue, wrapped around her wrist, and went went the extra mile to put a little make up on; lip gloss, and some mascara. She didn't need much though. To complete the outfit, Nicole wore Grecian styled blue and light brown sandals that wrapped around her ankle.
    The young mother was supposed to be stopping at three places and making small purchases with Errol's card that he registered in her name. Where he got all the money from, Nicole didn't know. Even though the man told her beforehand she could buy what she wanted, she felt awful and had a deep sense of guilt that she needed to be frugal. She first stopped at Buckle and bought a pair of jeans and a shirt. Nothing had happened.
    She then eventually stepped into Bath and Body Works, immediately being immersed in the many smells that tickled her nose. She took her time, gently taking a wiff of the many products. Some of them made her gag while others made her feel calm.
    "Can I help you find anything?" A kind sales associate asked.
    Nicole jumped a bit and then relaxed. Jean and Errol were here. They were going to protect her. "No thank you," she said with a forced smile. "I'm alright, thank you." As soon as the girl left, Nicole picked up a bottle that read honey suckles. She remembered when Carter and her use to take samples of the sweet flowers, laughing and enjoying them all the while. She brought the bottle up to her nose, giving it a careful sniff. Nicole smiled warmly as happy memories played in her mind. This was a good choice for her.
    Another customer had walked in. She was dressed in dark jeans that laced up at the sides, high biker boots, and a zipped up hoodie with a cat head with big yellow eyes, and a row of teeth on the hood. The young woman also had sunglasses on and fingerless black gloves. Her hair was short, cut in an alignbob with blue streaks in it here and there. She was standing not to far away from Nicole, barely hidden by a display of bars of soap. She seemed interested in the protect, but was watching the young mother at the same time from under the shade of her sun glasses.
    Ryan frowned, realizing how reckless he was recently. He never would have done that before three weeks ago. He has changed already.
    "We will talk later... I promise. Stay here with Jex, watch over him and that girl while I'm gone... I'll be back in a few hours."
    He nodded.
    "Yes sir" he said in an apologetic tone. He turned around, and there was an empty hallway of uncomfortable chairs, and plain white floors and walls. To the left was a garden with a mixture of greenery, ponds, and trees to make the hospital feel more welcoming. The rain from earlier turned into a bright blue sky and the sun shone down, flickering among the water of the ponds, and glowing the green leaves. He turned the corner into the room which had Jex on a bed, unconscious and almost entirely wrapped up on the face. All he could see were his closed eyes. He walked back to his seat that was next to Jex, and held his hand once again, caressing it softly just like he did in the car. It made him relax before.
    "I'm so sorry," he thought towards Jex. "I just wanted to talk to you again and everything went out of control. I wanted to tell you how I feel. I'm here for you now."
    Ryan just stared at his face, wanting him to wake up. He just wanted to know if he would be okay.
    Alex looked down at Leif, who obviously was giving him attitude.
    "Well, it's a mission to find a missing 13-year-old, Tomas Mullane," he replied.
    He handed him the envelope that Errol previously gave. "This should have the details," he added.
    Shane looked slightly confused by Lyle's questions, but he understood the need for information. This was just the first step in getting the help he needed. "Completely healthy and my blood's O positive!" he called out to Lyle as he left in a hurry. Turning his attention away from Lyle for the moment, he decided to acknowledge Isabella. He shrugged his shoulders as she introduced herself. "You didn't give me a name earlier, what was I supposed to call you?" he responded, not reacting to her comment about her being too awesome for him to handle. I just thought it would be far more efficient for your experiments if you actually knew the way my mind worked. After all, the more you understand my brain, the less time you have to spend learning about my basic reactions and therefore you get to spend much more time figuring out how and why my powers work the way they do. But hey, if you want this to be a slow and painful process, by all means go ahead. I just thought I'd offer to help for science's sake, the boy sent to Isabella telepathically.
    [IMG]
    Lucas rolled his eyes and followed behind Isabella, bringing Shane with him. As he got there, he opened his mouth. "For the last time, Isabella, Kye and I work together. There is nothing romantic between us, nor will there ever be" he stated, before hearing a voice he was quickly growing tired of.
    "He's lying. If you could only see his dreams like I can...the things he's dreamed of you and him doing, it's like I have my own pornographic channel on demand" Shane said to Kye. He knew that he couldn't hear Lucas' actual thoughts, but unless Isabella bothered to read Lucas' mind or there were more telepaths in the place than he knew about, they wouldn't know that. If he was going to be trapped and a prisoner, he may as well have fun with it, maybe it would calm him down.
    Lucas backhanded Shane with his left hand. "I would request you stop making comments like that. I have ways of stopping telepaths from accessing my mind, Isabella knows this and I'm relatively sure I told Kye. So, should you feel the need to create chaos, I would recommend trying it on someone it may actually work on" the investigator said, before shoving Shane forward and close to Isabella. "Here, he's yours. This kid is starting to remind me of starbucks already.." he said in a slightly grumpy tone, before going back to his usual station.
    It took everything Shane had to not turn and make a break for the entrance, despite how dangerous it was. However, he still maintained the look of being calm, though he very, very nearly failed that. What he saw before him as a ghostly pale boy, beaten and bruised, moving around and groaning as though he were in some sort of pain. Shane wanted to peer inside his mind, to see what was going on...but he didn't. Whatever was in that boy's mind was something horrifying, he was sure of it, and he wasn't sure he wanted to see that just yet. "So, is this where we'll learn? When can we get started?" he asked, doing his best to make it look as though he wanted to continue on with being there, when it couldn't be further from the truth.
    "You realize that you will NEVER impress me and NEVER get into my pants. Get that through your thick skull."
    Challenge accepted.
    After Cynthia finished her little piece about why he was wrong (at this point all he heard was a steady stream of blah blah, blah blah blah blah, blah blah perhaps we could look at the powers people could have, blah blah...blah) Tobias stood up. "I'm thirsty" was all he said before walking over to the kitchen and finding where Cynthia kept the glasses. Grabbing two, he turned the taps in the sink on and put cold water in both of them, before turning off the taps and taking them back. "Figured you might be, too" he said as he sat the glasses on the table and sat down. "So...I don't suppose you happen to know some expert on powers do you? Maybe there's some mad scientist who, like, throws people in a basement and does creepy experiments on them with the supervision of government officials, like an actual conspiracy or something" he said, openly mocking her.
    Christie barely looked at Errol as he thanked her. She did allow herself a slight smile. She'd done good, they had done what they could and saved Ryan. Jex was injured though, and that was worrying, but things were okay. At least, that's what she thought until Ryan snapped and yelled. Christie stayed out of it, simply backing into a corner. He was right, it was her fault, if she hadn't stopped him maybe Jex would be okay..maybe he-
    No. I'm not doing this to myself again.
    Mustering up as much courage as she was able, Christie stormed up to Ryan. She had to stay with him and watch him, as Errol had asked, but that didn't mean she had to put up with this crap. Keeping her voice low, the girl opened her mouth to tell him off. "The hell is wrong with you? I held you back because you were running on emotions. You weren't thinking things through, if anything you would've been a liability and gotten in the way if it wasn't for me. I let Jex go there because he can handle himself. Yeah he's injured right now, and that's partially my fault, but everything is okay right now and you're not full of bullet holes. What good would you have been? A meatshield that lasted for 30 seconds? If you want to survive in this world, you think things through, you plan things out, and you don't throw yourself out aimlessly or people will go missing just like Colton did, and I'm not letting that happen again! You hear me? Never again!" she hissed, grabbing every small object around her she could find and throwing them at Ryan telekinetically as she spoke, causing an assortment of boxes, cards, and a couple of pillows to hurl themselves at her target.
    Isabella ignored Lukey's comment about him and Kye not dating. She believed they were so there was nothing that could change her mind about it. She was simply stubborn like that. Then there was Shane talking to her once again. Damn it, how could she say no now... Though she did kind of enjoy the slower process. sure it took more time and got less done for science sake, but at the same time it gave her the chance to try different things for use with future subjects and all that sort of stuff. "I'll take the slow and painful way, it will allow me to try so many more techniques... for science." Isabella replied. It was kind of nice to have another telepath around so she could speak like this. She didn't get to do it very often. People were so boring with their whole lack of powers thing. There needed to be more people like her in the world. That would make things a lot more fun. But only good people mind you. She would take the powers away from all the bad people
    Standing before her test subject, watching him squirm around in pain, Isabella heard Lukey's voice behind her. He had shoved her new subject at her. "Oh delivering him to me already? I still have stuff to do first.... OH! You wanted an excuse to come see how my other project is going. Great! India had him for today so I don't know exactly what happened, and well you were here for the rest. Even so though he is doing good. More sick than yesterday but he is holding on. I hope India didn't push him too hard. On that note." Isabella untied Coltons restraints and then smacked his broken arm to wake him up. "Rise and shine sleepy head. We have to get you hack to your room. We can't have you sleeping in my lab all the time can we? It wouldn't be right. This is my space and I don't like sharing for too long." She said to him before turning to Shane. "We can't start until I take him back. So you can come with me. Maybe Lyle will have a home for you."
    [IMG]
    Colton jolted awake sitting up with a cry of pain as Isabella hit his broken arm. After that he let out a fit of dry coughs that made his chest ache. Colton fell back to a lying down position as he held his broken arm as it throbbed. He only stared straight at the roof for a few moments before turning his head to see not only Isabella, but the agent that captured him, Lucas. On top of that there was a guy and a girl standing there was well, all looking at him. Colton felt a little more than uncomfortable as they looked at him, but not embarrassed mind you, he lost his sense of dignity soon after arrival.
    "Come on you lazy bum, there is no time for sitting around we have to get you back to your own bed." Isabella said as she pulled Colton off the cold metal work table that he had been laying on. She tried to not make the conditions sound as bad as they were in front of Shane for the reason of not wanting him to know of the true horrors that he had gotten himself into just yet. That would come in time, but for now she wanted him to continue following her without her having to do too much work. She already had to keep a close eye on Colton, he loved to stir up trouble when he thought he could get away with it. And by the look of her lab he had tried to once already. She would have to have a conversation with India about it later. What was he thinking letting the boy mess up her lab like that?
    Colton slid off the table slowly as Isabella tried to pull him off. As he stood he got dizzy, but her hand holding firmly to his arm helped him keep balance. He looked at the boy he had not seen before with worn bloodshot eyes, a warning to get out if he could, but Colton kept his mouth shut. His throat hurt too much to speak. It was raw from all the coughing recently. Colton merely slowly shuffled along, his head down as Isabella lead him back to his room. He wondered if Mai was okay. She had been here far longer than he had, and was rough shape herself. She always helped him... if only there was something he could do for her...
    While one had was gripped firmly on Colton's arm, Isabella used the other to grab Shane's hand and lead him along as she hummed. Isabella hummed a happy tune and skipped down the hall until she reached Lyle'sn lab, where Colton was kept. "Helloooooo. I am bringing Colton back." Isabella yelled out as she entered the lab. She mad her way to Colton's cell. "Woah did you redo this? It looks good! In you go Colton!" Isabella shoved Colton inside and watched the boy stumble forward nearly falling on his face. "Also I don't know what you want me to do with him. He did come here to look for you after all." Isabella stated.
    As Colton stumbled forward into the newly designed room he just stared and blinked once before he looked at the curtain and turned to Lyle. He knew who was behind the curtain and he felt like it wouldn't be good. Perhaps it was his dream or perhaps it was just a gut feeling he didn't know but he wouldn't let it pass. "Mai.." He started in a raspy voice. "Wh-what did you do to her..." He asked sounding as angry as he could through his tired, weak and raspy voice. He started to do the best he could to manipulate the inner workings of one of Lyles robots near by to turn on Lyle but he didn't know how well he was doing, everything was so out of focus and he was slightly dizzy. It made using his powers accurately extremely hard. He was unsteady as he stood in the middle of the room, goose bumps covering his bare arms. He started coming down with the chills on top of everything else.
    Brendan sat quietly listening to Danni go on and carefully thinking about each point and how he would respond. But he wouldn't respond until she was done talking. "Everything is stupid, I agree with you there. Things shouldn't happen like this, it is unfair. Why did it have to be Colton of all people. I remember when he came here, how weak and sick he was. Not to mention mentally unstable.... Look Danni, I know you were hard on him but that was because he needed it. You were doing the right thing. If you left him alone he wouldn't have done anything and wouldn't have grown in strength. Lets just hope that you giving him a hard time has helped him strengthen enough to get through this ordeal, we will find him." Brendan said to deal with the Colton issue.
    "Yes everyone is on edge, I am on edge, but I am doing everything I can to track Colton without dipping my hands in muddy water. I have the skills to do more, just... I can't risk getting us in trouble. I will find another way. I promise you. I will help your Uncle find them. I promise, but until then it might be good for us to be a bit on edge, more careful, so the same thing doesn't happen to someone else. I don't know what I would do if someone I knew better went missing... if you went missing..." Brendan said as he bit the inside of his lower lip, nervous that he said too much and made her uncomfortable.
    Finally there was the question that had been taxing him for years. Why they were targeted. He couldn't himself understand why he was forced to hide away and be separated from his family besides just to keep him safe. "I guess, they ear what they don't understand. I mean it is hard to understand powers if you don't have them yourself and... screw it. Quite frankly I don't know. I ask myself the same thing every time I think of my family and if I will ever get to see them again..." Brendan was aware it was risky to speak of family now but he couldn't lie to her about what he did and didn't know. His parents had promised to come get him as soon as it was safe for him... that was nine years ago. He hadn't seen or spoken to them in that time.
    Cynthia looked at the glass that Tobias set on the table in front of her and then looked at the boy. She didn't trust him one bit. "I am not drinking that." Cynthia said plainly as she sat back and looked at Tobias carefully. She finally spoke answering Tobias' comment. "I used to know someone actually. However she is dead now, I killed her with my own two hands. It turns out that she herself had powers, so I couldn't just let her live. Anyways I don't know anyone else but there is always the internet. That tells you everything usually." Cynthia said crossing the room to a small laptop on a desk. "Shall we see what we can find?"
    [IMG]
    Jason stood up and ran his fingers through his hair. He walked over to a small table in the corner of the room. "Would you like a drink?" He asked, preparing to pour them both a glass of whiskey. "Is there anything else that you need to talk about or need me to do today?" Jason added knowing that he had not been getting much work done and that he should soon get back to that, if Benjamin wanted him to do anything specific. If not he would simply tidy up a bit and prepare himself to deal with his daughter the following day.
    Ryan just sat there as Christie threw everything around her towards him.
    "The hell is wrong with you? I held you back because you were running on emotions. You weren't thinking things through, if anything you would've been a liability and gotten in the way if it wasn't for me. I let Jex go there because he can handle himself.     Ryan nodded to everything she said. He felt bags under his eyes, and his chest inflamed in pain. All that running, punching, and worrying just made him so exhausted.
    "You're right," he said with a soft tone. "I don't blame you. I was just frustrated. That was wrong of me. I'm just-"
    He looked at the purple haze lifting from his left hand.
    "-trying to figure out what I'm doing from now on. It's so weird being like this still."
    He looked up at Christie and gave a slight smile.
    "Thank you for stopping me," he said before looking back at Jex. He was worried about him.
    Jean was waiting outside the room the Hospital staff had designated for Jex. Back leaned against the wall adjacent to the room number while hands hid themselves in black Jean jacket pockets. Nothing special or new was worn for this occasion. Same shaggy brown hair, black jean jacket, beige denim, black shirt, and good ol sneakers. Earthy irises stared off into space before him, dilated while ears concentrated on the conversation happening in the room. Errol was surprisingly taking it a bit easy, all things considered. Christie was in there too, and apparently according to the conversation going on it was Ryan who was somewhat at fault. Jean did not know Ryan to well, although they had caught glimpses of one another there and then, but never had the chance to fully introduce themselves. Now would've been a decent opportunity were it not for the circumstances they had all found themselves in. They were all here in the hospital because Jex had gotten hurt badly, not life threatening, but bad enough that he required stitches and bandages all around his face. To be honest, Jean could only hear so much from outside with all things considered. Nurses were walking the hallways with their squeaky sneakers, patients were having their afternoon walk, and patients relatives were also roaming the area. It was a lively hospital this afternoon.
    Eyelids shut themselves and reopened themselves quickly as Errol's plimsoll made it obvious that he was heading out. Pushing off of the wall with his back, Jean followed the two out of the hallway and into the outside world. Apparently it had recently rained.
    ----------------------------------------
    A green beanie had found its way onto Jean's shaggy hair. It was really Nicole and Errol's idea as they thought he looked rather plain, and obviously wearing the same outfit he had worn three weeks ago. Surely the person they were luring would identify him because people like them never forget. Jean shrugged as he stood in line in front of a Kiosk that was selling smoothies nearby Bath & Body works. It was a good vantage point as he could see into the store window while maintaining the illusion of being in line for a smoothie; well it wasn't really an illusion as he was going to get himself a drink. The order was taken, and he was asked to step aside while he waited. soon after the blender went to work. Peripherals kept locked on the store the whole time which was well played because not to long when Jean's smoothie was ready, he caught a glimpse of a woman dressed in a similar if not identical attire from the one in the photo.
    "Twilight Sorrow..." he thought into the channel Errol had put up. "Guys, it's her. I saw her enter the store. Be on your guard Nicole, I'll be right there."
    Lips wrapped around the straw as cheeks sucked diligently on the drink. Flavor entered his mouth, being swallowed by the esophagus as soon as it entered. Banana, strawberry, and watermelon. It tasted so good, a sensation Errol could probably feel while Jean made his way casually to the store Nicole was in. Eyes peered through the edge of the store entrance, earthy eyes looking to spot the woman in the cat hoody while also looking for Nicole. He probably looked a bit odd to anyone who was paying attention outside of the store, but then again most people would be minding their own business. Lips smacked as he finished the last of his smoothie.
    "Man that was good." he thought before entering the store casually, dumping the empty cup into a trash bin.
    Danni listened to Brendan's words, mulling them over in her head. Her hands were still in her hair, making the strands of red stand on edge. Her heart rate was slowing down finally, putting her more aggressive side to rest for a while. Even though she had the slight scare of Jex disconnecting for a while, her uncle had contacted her to reassure her he was alright for the most part and told her what had happened.
    "Thank you," she muttered to the teen, staring at the ground as she listened to the hiss of the rain outside the alcove. It was gradually falling down, indicating the rain would stop soon. Danni felt useless just staying around here, not being able to do anything to help Colton, but she didn't say that out loud.
    She sighed out when there was silence in-between them for a while, finally straightening up in her seat. "It just won't end," she said, smoothing down her hair the best she could. "I just got news Jex got beat up to a pulp by some psycho out to kill people like us... Jex was trying to get information out of him, kid didn't stand a chance. Something about Ryan and Christie being involved too, but they're okay. Jex is in the hospital... Again." Danni bit her lower lip, shaking her head. "I need to teach that punk a thing or two on fighting dirty..."
    ~~~~~~~

    The robot merely stood there, hardly phased by Colton's pitiful attempt to control it. Lyle stood there, watching Colton. He could see Isabella in the background as well as the newcomer. He really wanted to speak to the scientist apparently, but that would have to wait. All attention was focused on the sickly boy.

    "Your new friend made a deal with me. She would agree to all the tests I could put her under without a fuss and without a fight. She must be extremely fond of you. She has fought me all these years until now. All of this," he gestured to the room, "was in her agreement for you; better care, better environment to heal in, better food... Quite frankly, you and her are being treated much better than the others. Be grateful. This medical robot here will assess your needs an provide the best care for you."

    The less intimidating, happy looking kind of robot stepped from it's place and waved at Colton. "Hello, I am Baymax, your personal health care companion. On a scale of one to ten, what is your pain level?" Just kidding, Maka is being silly. Instead the robot said "Hello, I am P3-OT, your personal medical assistant and doctor. Hold still please as I scan and assess your needs." The robot's eyes turned green and took in all the data it analyzed. "Scan complete. Oh dear, you have a broken arm. Your bones are very weak. I will make you a cast and give you the proper medications to heal to be your best. Please sit on the bed as I prepare your personal care."

    As the robot was doing it's thing, Lyle stepped out of the cell and let the doors shut behind him. Now his attention was fully on the new boy. "Now, what made you come all this way to see me?" He asked as his robotic optic stared long and hard at the young teen.

    The robot had prepared a red cast for Colton's arm and began to go to work. "This will hurt, but you will feel better in no time." P3-OT then placed it's robotic hands on Colton, setting the bone the way it was suppose to be before quickly and efficiently putting on the warm cast around the broken limb.

    "All done!" P3-OT declared in a happy voice before moving to clean Colton's cuts and stitches. "Now I will take care of your other injuries. You have a slight infection, but some medical spray will disinfect it and soothe it. Hold still, please." Soon the robot had patched Colton up and then stepped back.

    "Now you require to take medications. I have selected some for you that fit your medication needs. It's chest opened up and a small plastic cup with a glass of water sat on the tray. A small chute of sorts extended out to the small cup. "I will give you supplements, but first you require a Miacalcin injection. Miacalcin is used to treat certain bone problems and to reduce high blood levels of calcium. Calcitonin is a man-made hormone that works by slowing bone loss and maintaining normal calcium levels in the blood. It may also help to reduce bone pain in people who have Paget's disease. I am required to give this injection every twelve hours." It's robotic finger turned in a needle with the medication and swabbed the area with an alcohol pad before it poked Colton in the skin, sending the drug in his body before pulling away and began to dispense medication in the plastic cup. "Here are your RxOmega-3 Factors – A true pharmaceutical grade fish oil supplement. Take two capsules daily, for your weak immune system, and Moriton for the pain you are experiencing." The robot took the two containers off the tray and handed them to Colton as the tray began to fold back up into the robot's body.

    "I am sensing you have a chill. I will turn on this electric blanket for you." P3-OT pulled a blanket up on Colton's lap and turned on the little dial to control the heat. "Is there anything else your nurse and medical doctor can do for you? I cannot leave until you say you are satisfied with your care."

    ~~~~
    Kye snickered when all of this was happening before her. To think he had to worry about herself losing control. Lucas was losing his cool and scientists seemed to all be on edge today. She smirked, looking at Lucas from under the shade of her hat. "Temper, temper. Does someone need a hug?" Kye jested. Dating Lucas never crossed Kye's mind. Kye just always saw the man as a work partner, nothing more and nothing less.
    ~~~~~~

    "I would love a drink," Benjamin said with a smile as he watched Jason move to the whisky. "Actually, there is one thing you can help me with... There is someone we have 'acquired' at least six weeks ago. She has personal experience with a telepathist on our watch list, but refuses to tell us anything about him... I believe the information we can retrieve from her would be valuable, but she is stubborn... Maybe you will be able to squeeze something out of her."

    ~~~~~~~~
    I See her, Errol sent to the others, keeping close tabs on Nicole and the suspicious being. Nicole, keep acting normal as if you don't know she's there. Jean is on his way. Proceed with the plan as normal.
    Nicole froze at the thought, but forced herself to relax. She needed to act like everything was fine.
    Taking the bottle of the honey suckle perfume, Nicole went to the counter and purchased it with a happy smile. She then took her item and began walking out of the store, feeling uneasy as she felt a pair of eyes on her. The old feelings of anxiety returned, but Nicole fought them down.
    The girl with the sunglasses watched Nicole carefully as she left the store, sticking her hands in her sweater pockets as she began to casually follow Nicole into the crowd of people.
    Nicole was heading to the Gymboree, wanting to purchase something for her daughter and son when he returned to her. Suddenly, a older gentleman accidentally ran into her, causing her to lose her balance and drop her bags on the ground.
    "I'm so sorry!" The man exclaimed, reaching a hand out to Nicole. "Are you alright?"
    Errol sensed this man was an innocent player at the sidelines and sighed out slowly. He then picked up on a heightened feeling and stiffened. Jean, Twilight Sorrow is going to pull a gun, now.
    "I'm fine, I'm fine," Nicole said, standing up to her feet. She heard the thought but dared not to look around. If she raised suspicion now, the plan would be flawed. The man kept apologizing, reaching down to pick up her items. "Really, it's okay! It was just an accident."
    As Nicole was preoccupied with this sudden encounter, Twilight Sorrow quickened her pace, approaching Nicole from behind. She then pulled out a handgun, aiming straight towards Nicole head as she cocked the gun and put her hand on the trigger, ready to fire.
    ~~~~~~

    Jex moaned, licking his dry lips, only to wince when he brushed over a few minor cuts. "Ugh... What's with all the noise guys?" He asked in a raspy voice, keeping his eyes closed as pain throbbed through his head.

    Ryan continued to caress his hand to comfort him when Jex began to speak. The injuries he has taken must be horrendous.
    "Sorry, I was just apologizing to Christie, and I want to say sorry to you. If I didn't ask to go to the mall, you wouldn't have-"
    He looked at his hand, wanting to avoid eye contact. He was ashamed of himself, and with everyone blaming him, he felt even worse. In his head, he imagined scenarios in which Jex now hated him. He even thought about leaving the mansion because it would be better for everyone if he did. He's caused too much trouble.
    "I'm sorry. After three weeks, I felt really alone, and I wanted to go back to something that was relevant to my old life," he said.
    He tapped his feet over and over again, nervous about what he'd say.
    "and I wanted to see you again..."

    In another room, Tyson (Tyrant) laid on his bed, stitches throughout his head and stomach. He didn't have as many injuries as Jex, but his ilium was fractured and his nose was broken. He couldn't get up or turn so all he stared at was a daytime television show which had a chef cooking lasagna. It was dull, and he wanted to turn it over. A nurse knocked on the door.
    "Tyson, your daughter's here to see you," she said. Suddenly his daughter caught the nurse off balance, and rushed into the room.
    "DADDY!"
    She hugged him tightly, which caused Tyson to shout in pain. She immediately quivered back with widened eyes.
    "What happened? The police came and took me here," she asked.
    Tyson frowned.
    "Car accident," he lied, not wanting his daughter to know what he's been doing. She would be horrified.
    The girl backed away. "You're lying," she said. Her eyes widened.
    "What-what's wrong?"
    She put her hands over her face.
    "Can't...stop...the...thoughts..." she gasped. She backed into a wall and fell down to the ground, unable to control what was going on in her mind. The nurse immediately came to her side, confused about what she was saying.
    "Rebecca?"
    "What thoughts, dear?" she asked, concerned about her state of mind. Was this some sort of shock from seeing her father in this way?
    "My daddy...he's hurting people..." she said in a shaky low tone. "Innocent people."
    Tyson was shocked. Was she a telepath? He was stuck in the bed, not able to move.
    "Rebecca, I can explain!" he exclaimed. She began to scream in terror as to what she was seeing in her mind. "Make it stop! Please make the thoughts stop!" she screamed.
