Ryan began to drink the juice and noticed that Jex was looking into his eyes.
The sweet taste of orange filled his dry mouth, and he sucked the juice as fast as he could from the straw. He was really thirsty and the juice was able to fit the job for now. After a few seconds, Jex walked behind him and pushed the wheelchair along. Newborn babies were crying from the room to the left, but at the same time, a woman of blonde hair and around 30 years of age was anxiously sitting on a chair, rocking back and forth.
"Okay, we're going to head out now. If anyone freaks out when they see you, I'll be here to protect you... Alright? I'm not going to let you get shot again. If Uncle Errol's Mind Manipulation worked, everyone should leave us alone..."
Ryan nodded, but hoped that the man who shot him would not appear again. He should be safe. They seemed to know what they were doing, and he trusted Jex completely from how sincere he was towards him throughout this whole day. His back tingled when he said he was there to protect him. No one ever said that to him before.
"I'm glad you're here, Jex," he spoke. "You're like my knight in-"
Ryan widened his eyes. He usually got too romantic when he was around girls before (which made them turn away), but did he just say that? He tried to cover it up quickly with a response of Jex's previous question. He hoped he didn't hear that.
"Um, I like to play soccer, and run, and play video games, and swim." he rushed.
He could take it as a joke. Please take it as a joke...

Jean sat there, listening intently at all the details given to them by Nicole Carter. It turned out this woman did not like her husband for reasons that he could only assume were not good. She seemed to be struggling a bit at first, most likely from grief; and for a mother that's to be expected. The young scholar took the glass to take another sip of water as not much information had been revealed that could aid them in the investigation. With his free hand, hands gripped around the wet glass and brought it to his lips. Mouth was ready to lavish the refreshment when she suddenly said something that immediately caught his attention. The glass parted from whatever distance they were from mouth and was lowered to the table. Pen began to scribble on notepad at the command of his hand while Jean kept eye contact with Nicole. Guardian Angel of Lake Tahoe. That was the title of the article that Nicole soon enough handed him, it was framed and everything, and just as Nicole described the picture of her son and the little girl was there. Brown eyes stared at the photo, attempting to somehow gauge a suspicion his gut was telling him. Jean was not one to believe in nonsense such as Guardian Angels, especially one of a specific place. To him, the supernatural was merely something only people who lacked understanding believed in. The world they lived in, it was ruled by laws of nature, of physics; Science. There was just no way some apparition or being from another dimension could exist, let alone interfere with the affairs of other. No. If there's one thing he's learned...it's that the supernatural...were people like him. Mind over matter, body, or even the mind. These were things that were possible because they've transcended, or diverged from the natural of what it is to be human. They were different from the average human.

Jean placed the photo on the desk.
"No...we've surpassed a human being entirely..." he muttered beneath his breath, pupils dilated as he contemplated in a fraction of a second. "Could Carter...be like us? No wait, that's too quick of an assumption. It could have been anyone that was there that day... a bystander, or some other kid there... Although, if it was Carter... then perhaps that would explain the motive behind whoever took him... Could the father have been the one to have taken him...? It's like she said, she was afraid the father would find them through the article. I mean that article was practically placing a bulls-eye on Carter... Tch.... could it be him? I'm not so certain, but something is telling me that I'm on the right track..." he contemplated as he looked up to Nicole as she continued to talk. He snapped back into listening when the woman started to describe her paranoia. Pen continued to scribble more notes, until finally Nicole reached the ending of the retelling. She mentioned Raven Sun, but that was about as useless as any other information she could have said, like, "K-Mart" or something. However, he wrote down the name of Raven Sun on his Notepad because of the list of growing witnesses/bystanders/suspects that were there that day, including Molly. Now she was not a suspect, but a witness. The fact that she tugged at her in the direction of where carter was, and ran to the location afterwards? How could a young child at her age be so...aware?

"Ok please bare with me. The following questions: What was the name of Carter's friend and the name of the friend's mother? May I have their address? Do you have a photo of your ex-husband, and please tell me his name and his current whereabouts. Also, May I speak Molly?" asked Jean as he finished jotting down a note. Seeing as she was one of the witnesses, he might as well get this one out of the way. "I know she doesn't speak much...but I'd like to try to get her to talk with your cooperation if that's alright with you?" he queried, giving Nicole a strong gaze.

    Witness/Suspect List

    Carter's Friend (Suspect)
    Carter's friends Mother (Witness)
    Raven Sun representative (Witness)
    Father (Suspect - Check Alibi)
    Molly (Witness)
    ??? (Kidnapper)

The purple eyed boy raised an eyebrow, hearing the slip of the tongue. "Knight in shining armor?" Jex grinned from ear to ear, his cheeks flushing in happiness. "Aw, you're so nice!" Jex chuckled as he stepped lighter, pushing the wheelchair to the back entrance. He could be a bit of a girl sometimes when it came to compliments. He was so used to Danni belittling him all the time that he was starting to think he was good for nothing. Even though Rose-

    Rose...

Jex felt his heart drop. Rose... Where in the world was she? Him and her shared a special bond of sorts, but it wasn't anything romantic. In fact, they pair agreed on to never pursue a romantic relationship together, ever. After what happened to the two of them, they decided together that being great friends was good enough for them. Jex had never really had a crush on anyone he could think of. He didn't even think he ever went on a date with someone... ever. Was it cause he was such an introvert he never had reached out to anyone? Sheesh, he needed to get out more often. Still, in the back of his mind, he hoped Rose was alright... Where ever she was.

    "
Soccer, running, video games, and swimming eh? You have a healthy balance of activities there. I'm a lazy bum myself." Jex wasn't going to let the thought of Rose's disappearance upset him. She wouldn't want that anyways. She would want him to not worry and try to be as happy as he could, let things work out the way they were suppose to or some crap like that. Jex pushed Ryan through the automatic back sliding doors. A cab was waiting for them, and Errol was standing at the passengers side, ready to help load Ryan in. Jex put the breaks on the wheelchair before moving around to Ryan's side. "Need help getting in? Take it slow." Jex stood in position, ready to catch Ryan if he needed to. "Or do you want me to transfer you in? Lift you up and place you in I mean without you standing up... That might be better. Is it alright if I do that?"

Errol was standing there silently, letting the boys figure out what they were going to do. He was using his Spatial Sense, trying to make sure they weren't being followed or being watched by an ominous force.

    Damn, he heard that.
He saw in the corner of his eye, a flush and a grin coming from Jex's face.
Maybe, it's a good thing he did.
"Aw, you're so nice!" he said with a chuckle. Ryan, in his own mind, breathed a sigh of relief. It's still embarrassing though.
"Yeah, uh..." Ryan responded, not knowing what to say, still red hot in the face. He wished he wasn't such a romantic. He hoped he would flirt back if he did indeed answer, but he was still nice about it. It still felt strange that he was talking to a guy this way, but there was something about him.
He's kind, charming, and funny. He's way out of my league...
Jex probably knew now about his crush on him, but began to lose faith that was reciprocated.
"Soccer, running, video games, and swimming eh? You have a healthy balance of activities there. I'm a lazy bum myself."
Ryan grinned. "I try, but I'm the one in the wheelchair right now," he joked.
In front of them were a maze of cars parked in front of the hospital, all lined up. The sky was just like earlier, aqua blue, and on the other side of the parkway and a road beside it, was a park. The trees shifted to and fro with the wind, and birds were chirping from within. A bright yellow cab was waiting for them at the front of the parking lot.
"Need help getting in? Take it slow. Or do you want me to transfer you in? Lift you up and place you in I mean without you standing up... That might be better. Is it alright if I do that?"
Ryan at first tried to get off of the seat, but as soon as he lifted an inch from it, his chest inflamed with pain. He never had someone holding him except for when he was a baby. Ryan thought about how Jex was feeling earlier. He must be dizzy still.
"Are you sure you can lift me? Have you recovered? I don't want you to fall," he asked, looking at the opened door.

Long story short Christie passed her test while Colton fucked up. While the outcome wasn’t surprising in the slightest, Leif had barely paid any attention to what was going on. If not for Danni getting pissed at Colton’s fuck up, then he probably wouldn’t have known about that either. Still it was his turn to take the test and before he could head to where the headbands were. Noah had walked in and started causing more trouble, for Danni anyway. When that was all over he attempted to give him some word of encouragement. It was a failed attempt, but an attempt nonetheless. “Sure, thanks.” That said, he walked out of the observation room and into the testing room. He stopped in front of one the headbands and picked it up. It was then placed on his head as he sat down on the chair and close his eyes.

Colton sat down and and listened to everything around them. He didn't talk, he didn't need to, but that didn't mean he wasn't paying attention. He didn't have anything better to do anyways. He could let his mind wander but he felt as though he should at least try to be of some help to them if he was here. It was an excuse to get away from Errol and Danni but that meant that he had to live up to his side of things.

As the lady spoke and explained about her ex-husband then what happened that ended up being put in the paper Colton thought of the implications of what had happened. Was it possible that Carter had powers? Yes it was more than possible. It was possible that one of the other kids there had powers too, but Carter might make more sense. If that was the case then what was to say the mother didn't do it? If Carter had powers like Colton suspected may be the case and he started to show them more around the home Nicole could have gotten scared of her own kid.

"What is to say that it wasn't you?" Colton spoke up in a grim voice as he looked up at Nicole. "I mean it is possible that you discovered Carter had powers and were scared of him so you got rid of him. You used the excuse of a kidnapping so no one would point fingers." Colton said in a monotone voice as a soft clank was heard from his pocket and the two pieces of his brain teaser clicked back together. Bringing his hands out of his pocket he glanced over to Molly and then back to Nicole. "It wouldn't be the first time I saw something like that happen you know." Colton stood up and walked to the window and stared out for a moment thinking of what his mother had told his brother to do. What happened. He wondered if there was any sort of missing persons or murder case for his sake like there was for this boy. It was possible, but his dad being in the police probably covered it up and no one actually cared that he was gone. Colton pulled his hood further over his face so less could be seen. The sorrows in his eyes couldn't be seen.

Jex laughed, putting his hands on his narrow hips. "I'm fine, don't worry about me! I'm a strong, capable, handsome, young guy!" Jex ignored the groan of dismay from his uncle and smirked. "Alright, let's get you in the car, nice and easy now." Jex moved in front of Ryan, figuring out the best way to pick the young lad up. Then he just thought it would be SO much easier if Uncle Errol just used his telekinetics to lift the boy up and place in him, but then how would that be explained if that was caught on security camera or someone's cell phone? Nah, they'll have to do this the old fashion way as Jex was originally planning on doing. "Sorry, this is going to be a little awkward, bare with me."

Jex gently wedged his hand down Ryan's back and used the other arm to scoop under Ryan's knees. Jex positioned himself just right so he wouldn't throw out his back, and then lifted Ryan up, bridal style. Jex grunted as he moved the kid, keeping a firm grip on him to make sure he didn't slip out of his hands. He then scooted over gradually to the car as Errol took the wheelchair and placed it in the trunk, and gently set Ryan in on the leather seat. "
There you go. See? I told you I was strong." Jex breathed out, suddenly realizing how close he was to Ryan's face and that he was leaning over him. The boy seemed... Kind of cute. Jex blushed and cleared his throat, pulling a seat belt over Ryan's chest, being careful to put the shoulder strap behind Ryan so he wouldn't get hurt if they suddenly braked.

    "
I'm... going to go sit by you in the back. Uncle Errol's going to be up front." Jex winked at the last minute, and then glanced down nervously before moving away and closing the passenger door. Errol got in the front seat of the cab while Jex slipped in through the passenger side. Soon, they were on their way to their destination. Jex was tapping his fingers on his knees rhythmically, nervous about what he just did. He never really had flirted with anyone before... And the kids was probably younger than him. Was that okay? Was he going against nature? Was this natural? So many questions buzzed in the telegraphist's mind. For Christmas's sake, YOU JUST MET HIM. SLOOOOOW DOOOOOOWN.

Jex, tone it down a bit.

The older teen hunched his shoulders, quickly looking out the passenger window. He forgot his uncle was especially gifted in both fields of the supernatural. "So... I guess when we get there, we'll give you your pain meds and find you some clothes, get you set up in a room and then get you something to eat..."

Nicole sighed out deeply, grabbing the nearest tissue and dabbed at her eyes. "Um, the friend was Issac Scott... His mother is Regina Scott... They live just down the street, five house down." Nicole flinched when Jean mentioned her husband. It brought back such painful memories... "I-I think I have something," she said softly. She got up and walked over to the desk, digging around papers and junk. She found the photo and froze when she looked at it. She wanted to get rid of it so badly... But she was glad she had it for this purpose. She kept it face down as she closed the drawer, walking back to Jean. She handed him the crumbled photograph, her hand a little shaky. "His name is Roman Gerro... The police don't know where he is. He's not at his apartment in Canada. They don't even know if he crossed the border or not. He just... vanished." Nicole tucked a lose strand behind her ear. She was obviously unsettled with this kind of information. She wondered if he was behind the kidnappings, but there had been no clues so far. It seemed like everyone turned a blind eye that day, except...

The young mother glanced up at her daughter, who was still in her own little world. Nicole sighed again, shaking her head. "
You can try to talk to her... But she probably won't say anything. The psychologists and detectives already tried to get a response out of her." Nicole pressed her lips in a thin line, remember that they were close to threatening her for not telling them what she had seen. She was frustrated as well, but she still forced herself to understand the reasons behind it all. She should have left Roman sooner.

"What is to say that it wasn't you?" Colton spoke up in a grim voice as he looked up at Nicole. "I mean it is possible that you discovered Carter had powers and were scared of him so you got rid of him. You used the excuse of a kidnapping so no one would point fingers."

Molly held still, keeping her eyes on the table top.

Nicole gaped at the boy that spoke up. She was caught off guard by the comment, appalled that she was even accused. She covered her mouth as more tears formed in her eyes before hugging herself and hunched over in the chair. The emotional pain was just unbearable at this point.

"It wouldn't be the first time I saw something like that happen you know."

    "
Stop it, STOP IT!" Nicole screamed, standing up abruptly, knocking the chair back.

Molly took out another piece of paper, beginning to scribble furiously with black.

"I LOVE my SON! " She pounded her chest where her heart was, hard. "I've been running his story on his disappearance for MONTHS! I've been printing out fliers, walking up and down the streets, trying to squeeze information out of people TO FIND MY SON!"

The sound of ripping paper could be heard, snapping the angry mother out of her anger rage. Molly had colored so furiously she ripped through the paper. Black crayon ran across the table top until the yelling stopped, and then Molly stopped all together.

Nicole shoulders heaved, her whole frame shaking. "
I don't know what your problem is, but think of what you're..." Nicole stopped talking, trailing off as she sat down heavily in the chair. She was done. She was running on emotional fumes right now, barely surviving, barely hanging on. She had to remember something though... These strangers didn't know her whole story. They didn't know how Carter came to be, or even Molly for that matter. She felt attacked though, placed in a corner with no where to run. It reminded her too much of her passed life. "You don't know anything," she said silently under her breath. She was starting to shut down, even though she knew she was innocent. The police even questioned her, thinking she probably had something to do with her son's disappearance. She felt betrayed, used.

    "
You can try to talk to Molly, but she will be silent," Nicole whispered, repeating the same thing again without realizing it, her mouth dry from the rage she felt inside. "The detectives and psychologists couldn't get anything out of her..."

Molly sat there quietly, staring at the table top. She wasn't making the move to color or draw anymore and stared down at the ripped, black colored paper.

Danni didn't even respond as Noah was being his cocky self and was being as stupid as ever. "Pipe down, Becca," Danni said in a tired voice, pulling him into the observation room by his shirt with her telekinetics. She didn't want to be trapped in here with the guy that was pissing her off, but she figured she could endure a few more hours of this crap. She then shut the door with a wave of her hand, pressing different buttons typing in different things. "Test will begin in Three... Two... One..."

[POWERPLAYING APPROVED BY MOKSHA. JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW. LOL]

The lights in the testing room dimmed, and Lief would find himself in a rough part of some unknown city. The rain was coming down in a steady drizzle, police sirens whined somewhere in the distance, and there were unsavory people wandering around in the street.

    "Psst. PSSST! Over here!"

Lief would see a man dressed in a heavy rain jacket, gesturing with a fingerless gloved hand for him to come over. Lief would walk up to him, unsure about this until the man speaks. He smells, he has an unkempt beard, his hair is greasy, his clothes tattered and worn, his breath is awful and a lot of teeth are missing, but his message is urgent. "
The meeting, it's in there." The homeless man gestures to the building behind him, with a flashing sign above the door which read 'The Library: Gentlemen Only' "It's in the basement. It's gonna start any minute now. You have to get there. They're gonna say where the exchange is takin' place. Be careful! If they catch you..." The man made a slitting throat action with his fingers. "Good luck!" And with that, the man hurried off.

Lief looked at the building, unsure what he would do. He was certainly too young for this sort of place. He would have to blend in somehow. Just then, a crowd of people began to file in, laughing and carrying on. This was his chance. Lief walked over to the group casually, pulling his jacket tight around his cheek. He then got lost in the middle of the crowd, stepping into the smoke filled brothel. He then made himself scarce from the unaware guards, hiding against the walls in the shadow to assess the situation.

Loud bass music was booming through the whole place, lights were flashing in time to the music, and the atmosphere itself was worldly and dark... Stripper poles seemed to be everywhere, and there was one on a center stage in the middle of the room. Lief cringed in disgust, keeping his focus through the music. He then saw a stream of light, coming from the back, and saw someone walking through a door before going downstairs. Taking in a deep breath, Lief acted as calm as possible, gradually making his way to the back through the raunchy crowd that were throwing money to two girls on a single pole. He then slipped in through the door, seeing a flight of stairs heading downwards to a dirt covered floor. He could hear voices down there and took in a silent breath. His heart was pounding in his chest as he began to take light, quick steps down the wooden, rickidy stairs. He barely made a noise and reached the bottom, then quickly ducking behind some boxes and crates. There were two men standing by a door, both of them buff. Lief listened carefully and could hear voices through the thin, wooden door. There were a pile of boxes against a wall, and just enough room for someone to hide and lean their ear against the wall. He had to get over there somehow...

More steps were heard from above, and a few gentlemen dressed professionally walked up to the guards. They were distracted. Lief made his move, keeping to the shadows and keeping low as he ducked by the pile of boxes. His heart hammered in his chest as he forced himself to quiet his breathing as the gentlemen were let in. Lief was out of sight for now... And right by his ear was a light emitting from the room within. Lief couldn't believe his luck. He peeked through the hole. There were about five men in there, and one woman. The woman was with a man, both of them looking tired and angry.

    "
So, are you sure you want to do this? You still have the option of backing out-"

    "
Yes!" the woman snapped, sneering at the men in the business suits. "It's been nothing but trouble since the day it was born. I want nothing to do with that... thing. That freak of nature..."

    "
Very well." The men pulled out some paper work and handed the mother a pen. "If you would both sign here please..."

Lief would probably be wondering what was going on. What were they talking about? What were they going to exchange...?

The woman and the man in casual clothing scribbled furiously at the paperwork, making them fly across the table back to the other men as soon as they were finished. "
Where's the money? You promised me thirty five grand!"

The man delegating the meeting raised his hand, hushing the angry woman.
"It's all been arranged. We will be there to pick up the girl at Warehouse Fifteen on Robinson Street, 346, one hour from now. When we receive word we got the girl, we will give you this brief case with what we promised. Is that understood?"

No. No, it couldn't be. This wasn't happening! This scenario was all too familiar to Lief.

    "
    HEY!"

One of the guards had noticed Lief! He stood up as the guard tried to run at him, but dodged him and booked it for the stairs. Insert an epic escape scene where Maka is getting too lazy to write out, but he uses his powers and whatnot cause people try to stop him, woohoo, lolololol, and then tada, like magic made only by the writer, he's at the warehouse.

LIef would be approaching a boarded up window. Inside, there was someone kneeling on the ground with a gun pointed to their head. From what Lief could see, it was a girl around the same age as him. She was crying silently, her hands bound behind her back and her mouth gagged. She also had some kind of blindfold over her eyes.

"Is that the freak?" Another man in a business suit asks, walking up to the man who had the gun pointed to her head.

    "
    Yeah. It is."

    "
    Does it have powers?"

The man scoffed, pointing to a cut on his head. "
You wanna find out for yourself like I did? I would keep the blindfold on if I was you..." The man kicked the girl in the side, hard. She feel to the ground with a muffled scream, curling up in a fetal position on the ground.

Lief couldn't take anymore of this. He knew what was going to happen. He had to make a move-

Click. The sound of a gun being cocked sounded behind Lief.

    "
    You're dead, kid."

And then the simulation suddenly ended.

Ryan watched as Jex held his hips and stated, "I'm fine, don't worry about me! I'm a strong, capable, handsome, young guy!"
Once again Ryan's face blushed into scarlet from the cool pink cheeks he had from the wind in the air before. He couldn't believe what he just heard and how out of the way he was acting to impress him. He was gobsmacked. His heart was racing. His forehead was sweating. Warmth and jitters spread over his body from his feet to his head. These emotions running through him continued to grow as Jex began to hold him.
"Sorry, this is going to be a little awkward, bare with me."
Ryan simply nodded. He literally took his breath away and couldn't find the words to speak.
    Is he...really?
Ryan just stayed silent as Jex put his hand on the back, and laid his arms under the knees. As he was placed inside the car, Ryan and Jex were close enough to kiss.
"There you go. See? I told you I was strong."
Ryan did nothing in response and just stared at Jex's purple eyes. He saw the flicker of emotion within them as he found out how close they were. It felt like steam was rising from his face right now. He was stunned as he saw Jex blush too as they just stared at each other for at least 10 seconds before he placed the seat belt over him carefully.
    He does feel the same.
"I'm... going to go sit by you in the back. Uncle Errol's going to be up front."
    "...ok..."

Jex winked at him as he turned away and closed the door. Ryan had a big smile on his face as Jex turned away. He diminished it down to a neutral look as soon as Jex turned back.
We just met. This is too fast.
At that moment, he didn't care about anything else. His chest, the thought of almost dying, everything. He looked at the front mirror to see if Jex was in view, and then looked down again as soon he thought Jex or Errol caught him. In the corner of his eye, he saw Jex tapping his fingers nervously.
After a long silence, Jex finally spoke up.
"So... I guess when we get there, we'll give you your pain meds and find you some clothes, get you set up in a room and then get you something to eat.."
Ryan smiled. "Thank you for looking out for me," he said
Suddenly a phone buzzed and rang in his right pocket. He reached for it and looked at the name. It was his mom. He immediately answered it.

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN!? We're worried sick about you!"
    Ryan frowned.
"I'm fine, Mom. Are you okay!? Did they take you!?"
"Who took us? No one did. We're at home waiting for you to come back!"
Ryan gave a sigh of relief.
"I'm so sorry!" Ryan exclaimed with tears running down his face. "I didn't mean to hurt you!"
"We're all fine, dear. We understand. Just tell us where you are!"
That man must have been lying so he could scare me.
"I'm with friends. They'll care for me. It's not safe for me to be with you right now. Leave the city if you can."
    "But son..."
His family were unwilling to let him go. They looked after him so much.
"I will see you again, but right now I need to learn how to control this. I can't be around you. I'm 15. I can look after myself. I love you. Goodbye..."
Ryan turned off the phone and just looked down at his feet. He missed them already.
In one day, he's been through a lot. He's received powers, been shot, almost killed, found out he was gay, had a crush that most likely reciprocates how he feels, and then split with his family. A rollercoaster of emotions were flowing through him right now. He was happy about Jex, but at the same time, he had to be split from his family.

Tobias looked up at the cameras that Kye had pointed out to him. Rather immaturely and crudely, he held up a single finger, obscured slightly by the claws he still had out but the gesture was pretty obvious. That was his general attitude towards everything. If he didn't agree with something, then **** it, he did things his way, no matter what people told him. He caught up to Cynthia pretty quickly. "I know plenty of things. I could tell you most things about blades, I could tell you about different methods of killing and how to do them. Since we're going to a library, I could even tell you about one of the books it may or may not have there. It's one called Karma Sutra, I can teach you about that book aaaaany time you like" Tobias said, now walking alongside the girl.

Lucas didn't react too much visibly as he got off the plane to Isabella's statement. Not really a statement even, but an accusation. He watched the girl as she got to work with her scanning, and then reported back asking for what to do next. Unable to resist, Lucas' sarcasm took hold. "Well, Isabella, you can marry me. For as long as I've known you, even if it's only been a couple of hours, I knew that you were the one I needed in my life. From the way you make things explode to the psychotic look in your eyes, I love everything about you. Screw the investigation, we can experiment on someone else in a faraway country; together we can do anything!" he exclaimed. For once his tone wasn't neutral, but sounded as though he was completely genuine with his response. He then sighed once more and stepped back. "Miss Terros, I can assure you I have no romantic feelings for anybody at all, especially not yourself. It inteferes with work and it doesn't make it very safe for anybody, now if you could keep your fantasies to yourself it would be much appreciated. There is a local park not too far from here, where several recent incidents were reported. I would suggest going there first. Now, if you're prepared to take this seriously, or as close to it as you can come, then we'll be on our way" Lucas said, irritation in his voice as he began walking towards the aforementioned park.

Christie couldn't believe Colton would make an accusation like that. She knew he wasn't the nicest guy at the academy, but that was just ridiculous. Storming up to him, she had to resist the urge to slap him across the face. "What the hell was that, Colton? We came here to help her find her son, not to make her feel horrible about it! How would you feel if you were in her situation? If you had someone close to you taken from you, and then someone outright put the blame on you? Think things through a little. Please, just keep comments like that to yourself, we don't need this turning out like your test" the girl said. Turning around, she rushed over to Nicole again.

"I'm sorry about that. He's...going through a rough time, I guess. We'll help him through it, just like we'll help get Carter back" she promised. Now was the tricky part; trying to get something out of Molly. Fortunately, she'd talked to quite a few little kids. She loved little kids, always seeming to get along with them, maybe she could be some use in this mission after all. Strolling over, she crouched in front of the little girl and gave her friendliest smile. "Hiya Molly! My name's Christie! Can I see your drawing please? I bet it's real good!" she said with a slight laugh.

Details were very important when going through information during an investigation. Jean immediately began to right down information; well more like correcting information. The son's friend and mother's name were written down on the pad while he waited for Nicole to bring him the photo of the ex-husband. It only took a few seconds for her to find the photo and bring it to him. When the young scholar looked up, eyes immediately made quick work of Nicole's body language. The way she held the photo face down, how her hand shook when she handed it over to him. Oh, and the photo was crumbled up. It was easy to assume Nicole no longer loved this man, or why else keep a photo of the man you divorced placed among random junk and such poor condition? Not to mention this woman's body language was somewhat distressed over the mention of this man. Placing the photo next to his pad, he wrote down the name, "Roman Gerro..." he uttered. Jean was becoming more suspicious of this man now that Nicole began to mention how his whereabouts were unknown. Free hand took the photo to get a look at how the man looked. The man was somewhat pale with black messy hair and a thin beard.

"You can try to talk to her... But she probably won't say anything. The psychologists and detectives already tried to get a response out of her."

Jean looked up to the woman, smiling at her reply towards Jean's attempt at talking with Molly. So far everything was going rather smooth, and Nicole seemed to be holding herself emotionally, which was a good thing because they needed her to be stable. Jean had been noticing Nicole's micro-body languages, and he could tell this was tough for her.
"Oh don't worry about it, ma'm. I'm sure we can get something out of her... especially if you're there to he-"

"What is to say that it wasn't you?" Colton spoke up in a grim voice as he looked up at Nicole. "I mean it is possible that you discovered Carter had powers and were scared of him so you got rid of him. You used the excuse of a kidnapping so no one would point fingers."

Jean's eye lids hid themselves behind eye sockets to emphasize the shock in those brown eyes. Truly they were all caught off guard by Colton's words; and to think he was doing so well too.

    "Damn."

"It wouldn't be the first time I saw something like that happen you know."

Drama unfolded as Nicole reached what seemed to be her peak in emotional tolerance. Words were thrown out to defend herself, and all of it made sense to Jean who was resting his forehead on the palm of his hand. He really hated drama, especially from a woman. It was a battle for him to just be hear speaking with this woman due to his phobia, and it helped to remain focused on the task at hand. Investigate via gathering clues and information. Simple as that. Eyelids closed over eyes as to try to remain focused during this woman's ranting; to which Jean understood she had every right to. Chest expanded as air was deeply inhaled through nostrils, released in a calm inducing action. While jean zoned out into his momentary private place, ears began to pick up background noise. It as scribbling, heavy scribbling. It was odd because he was the only one in the room with a notepad, and it sure as heck wasn't him. Where was it coming from? Jean focused on the tiny microscopic vibrations induced by the scribbles through motion sensing; something he could do via applying molecular manipulation. It helped that sound waves were pretty weak in causing molecules to oscillate; although a heavy bass was a different story. Mind extended out into the space of the house. Quickly he removed all things that were not in motion, including the small sound waves produced by Nicole. Jean suddenly found himself in blackness with only one sound: The Heavy scribbling. Visually, he saw it. The changes in the air as an object dropped, tapped, and then scribbled. The process of this information was suddenly quick after the first initial tap after having pinpointed what he was sensing. Time dilated as the motion of said object slowed with the rapid process of all this information. It was small in volume, not hollow like his pen. It's density was somewhat greater than his cheap pen as well. There was another tap, followed by the usual scribble again. The surface of where the tap was emanating from. It was also small, but judging by the how long it took for the vibration to reach the floor, it was an elevated surface. The elevation wasn't too great, smaller than the table he was currently seated at. There was only one surface that was within range, with that elevation that matched the description he was making in his mind. Eyes suddenly shot open as he knew where it was coming from. Hand lowered itself to rest on the table, head slowly turning to the little girl seated on a small tabletop just behind Nicole. The heavy scribbling suddenly stopped, simultaneously followed by the sound of a tear like sound. Coincidentally, Nicole had stopped fuming as well.

Something was out of place here. It was not Nicole's ranting or her current mood, no... it was this picture they were in. Someone was clearly missing. Jean's eyes narrowed in on the little girl; forgetting Colton's rudeness, and ignoring Christie being the only reasonable adult in this situation. Chair suddenly skidded a few inches back as Jean raised himself to his feet, a second after Nicole had sat down.

"You can try to talk to Molly, but she will be silent," Nicole whispered, her voice clearly having lost its fire from before. "The detectives and psychologists couldn't get anything out of her..."

"Maybe..." Jean spoke up as he stood there staring at the little girl. "...but I'm sure Molly wants to find her brother too."

With slow steps, he approached Molly, falling behind Christie who had taken the initiative to engage the little girl first. He squatted on the opposite side of the tabletop where Molly was seated. Expression became calm, not wanting to frighten the child as she was now surrounded by two individuals she clearly did not know. Wanting to seem less frightening to the girl, Jean lowered his rear end on the floor, crossing legs the way a child would, and expanded eyelids in order to have the stare a innocent child would have. It was the face of a kind, gentle, and caring person who was willing to open up to someone like Molly who kept to herself.

"Nicole?" he called out with a gentle tone. "You didn't deny Carter having powers... So I'm going to take a leap of faith here, and assume he does...? Does Molly have them too?" he asked turning to look up at Nicole from across the room.

This was a BOLD leap of faith. Just because Nicole didn't deny Carter has powers, did not mean the boy had them. However, this could very well be a turning point in the investigation if everything turned out to be true....because if so... then perhaps the reason why Nicole was so terrified of her Husband was because maybe he too has powers. And if that WAS the case, then this case was beyond the police or any other normal investigator.

Oh, and maybe Jean wouldn't snitch on Colton for being so cold towards the victim. Although, in back of his mind he wondered what kind of punishment Danni would bestow upon the old adolescent.

The teen was silent when the boy talked to his parents on the phone. A deep frown set in as Jex listened quietly, daring to not use his powers to eavesdrop and cheat. He wanted to keep an open line of trust with this new guy, and he knew from experience it was best not to use one's powers on those you wanted to keep as friends. As soon as the phone call had ended, Jex let out a deep breath of air, watching Ryan's body language. It must have been hard on the boy to say goodbye to the ones that loved him. Jex wondered what would be worse; them casting him out because of his "unique gifts", or to have them still care for him and having to be the one to say goodbye. Jex fished around in his pocket until he found a packet of tissues. He pulled one out, handing it to Ryan quietly.

    '
We're here for you,' Jex said through his mind to Ryan. The older teen smiled gently, his eyes shining with empathy to Ryan's situation.

Errol was sitting there in silence, glancing occasionally at the rear view mirror. He could see Ryan and hear the phone conversation from where he was since the clear window to shut out the driver was opened. This could prove to be a problem... Not only did Errol have to look after the boy's well-being, but also the boy's family. If those men were to go back for them, heaven forbid... Errol looked away pressing his forehead against his forefingers. He could really use a drink right now...

Molly hunched her shoulders shyly when the bubbly girl came over and begin to interact with her. She was looking at the mess she mad with the black crayon, suddenly feeling a little apprehensive. Instead of getting a drawing for Christie to see, Molly began to rub her little stubby fingers on the surface of the table, trying so hard to get the black crayon off the surface. She wasn't suppose to make messes. Deep down the little girl knew her mother wouldn't mind, but there was always a shadow behind her... Molly licked the tip of her thumb, bringing back on the hard surface to try to get the marks out again. The little girl kept focus on the task at hand, overwhelmed when the older gentleman came and sat on the other side of her coloring table. Although it seemed like she was extremely focused on getting her creative space clean, the little girl had a sense about her that she understood what was happening outside of her little personal bubble.

Nicole was sitting back in her chair, her whole demeanor changed and less focused. The bags under the woman's eyes were showing, and her spirit seemed broken and sorrowful now. She cupped her forehead with her hands, just waiting for the feelings to pass. She appreciated Christie's apologies, but the words still stung from the other boy's coldness. However, Jean's words did pick up her interest. The police never asked for that kind of information before. She cleared her throat, staying in her depressed position. It was going to sound crazy, but maybe this was the break through they needed. "
Weird things happened around Carter all the time..." Nicole said softly. "Objects... would float unnaturally, pictures would fall off the wall, things would be moved out of place that was... unexplainable... Once when Carter was mad, a glass of milk exploded... I thought it was a ghost, or his father brought something home... But before we... moved..." The memory of that was too painful for Nicole to say in words. The fear, the anger, the adrenalin, the way things were... Nicole looked over at her daughter, who was having her own little break down in a sense that only a mother could see. Her eyes soften as she watched her daughter. "Molly seems to understand adults better than her age group. It's like... she knows what you're thinking and feeling..."

The little girl was finished with trying to clean the black off of the white surface. She then looked to the drawings before her. The whole time since the group walked in the room, she made several drawings... Each of them had a story to tell. Whether they were true or imagination, that was up to the viewer. There were about six or seven of them, a lot of which did not have happiness in them at all. None of them were in chronological order, they were just scattered all around. Molly took the first one and placed it in front of her. Then she took the second one, then the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh aligning them on the table top for the two adults to see. Molly then folded her hands in her lap. Not saying a word or looking at anyone at all.

Ryan was looking down until he saw a tissue come into his view. He took it from Jex’s hand, and looked over to him with a slight smile.

    “We’re here for you”

His voice came into his mind, and it made him jump a little. On a usual day, this would make him freak out, but now after experiencing everything that happened, little would probably shock him. After looking a little shocked and holding his head for a while, he let down his hands, and smiled again.

    “Thanks.”

He looked out of the window, seeing a multitude of cars passing by. Ryan watched the dry desert and mountainous landscape of Nevada, and thought about how the life he was going to have. He wiped a tear with the soft tissue.

“I might be far from my family, but I was bored before. There was nothing much to do. This might be exciting.”

He looked at his hand and clenched it.

“The powers are pretty cool,” he spoke trying to keep a positive outlook. He looked over to Jex, and grinned. “Am I right? Being able to punch a guy faraway is pretty badass!” He then remembered the man’s reaction and sighed. His voice echoed through Ryan's mind.

    “YOU KILLED HIM!”

“I killed that man though, but he was trying to get us right?” he said, staring at his fist and then his chest, seeing what they did to him. “They threatened to kill me, and I was trying to protect Errol when I heard his plan didn’t work,” he said to himself, trying to reconcile what he did.

Jex had a feeling of what was going to come up and closed the clear glass window so the driver couldn't hear what would be said next. He kept quiet as he listened to Ryan and how he was trying to come to terms with things with the way they were. His violet eyes became sad when the boy realized what he had done and sighed out quietly. "I don't know... I can't answer that for you," Jex said softly, looking at the cracks in the leather seat in front of him. "Uncle Errol is pretty experienced with his powers... You just figured out you had them, right? I can't be the one to say whether it was right or not he died... But I'm glad you're alive, and that we can help you." Jex looked down at his hands, finding interest in the spinning ring he had on his right ring finger and began to toy with it. "These powers, these gifts... They're cool, but there's a lot on our shoulders."

Jex smiled slightly, wondering how to explain this. "
There's very few like me out there... I don't know where they are. Telegraphists are not very well known, I guess. But... It's hard. It's hard to shut out people's thoughts and emotions sometimes. And then you wonder... If you really let them say what was on their mind, or if you manipulated them by accident to have them say what you wanted to hear or do what you wanted them to do." He laughed, half-heartily, feeling a little out of it. "Danni can relate better to you than I can with what I think you have... which is probably telekinetics. She's my cousin... She's the same level of power as I am... But she could probably relate to you better than me."

Nicole did not respond as of yet, so Jean watched Molly for a while, taking note of her sudden behavior. Christie had spoken to her just a minute ago, and yet the little girl had not responded. Irises slowly strayed from Molly's small form and to the drawings settled on the table. There were some weird pictures scattered on the small table top. Hands stretched themselves outward to reach for one when Nicole spoke which triggered Jean's attention to be redirected, thus causing hands to fall flat on the table away from the drawings. He listened on as the young mother explained everything to which clarified a lot of things. Bingo. Now that the mask had been removed from this situation, they could get straight to business, although one thing caught his attention. She had mentioned the father in a way that made Jean curious, but for the time he would refrain from asking that. It was especially clear for the scholar to hold off on that question when the mention of Molly being somewhat different became apparent. Brown eyes found themselves averted back to Molly. Small hands were folded onto small lap, lips sealed but ears most likely fine tuned to the conversation. Curiosity was strengthened when Jean saw the pile of drawings neatly placed before them. Could Molly...have powers?

While focused on the drawings, Jean spoke, carefully taking the drawings into his hands as he leafed through them. If Molly truly had some kind of power, was it some form of Telepathy? Perhaps now was the time to mention the father.
"Did weird things ever happen around the father too, Roman Geero? You mentioned him when explaining Carter's experiences. Were there ever signs of abnormal behavior or events whenever Mr. Geero was around?" he questioned while eyes scanned each picture.

Many of the pictures stood out from normal as most of them displayed a black figure with yellow eyes, and a red aura around itself. Were these drawings from the little girl's imagination? Brows furrowed as he played around with the drawings, giving every character in them a role; he had a hunch that these may not be a result of a mere imagination. There was the father with the black hair and green shirt holding hands with Nicole...? There was what he would assume to be Nicole crying on her bed? No wait. Eyes took a closer look at the child's drawing. One picture was of the daughter and the mother holding hands. Hands sifted through the pages to go back to the picture with the black haired male and green shirt holding hands with the blonde female wearing pink. That was Carter and Molly. So then that meant...in every other picture there was no father... unless the father was in fact the monster in these images? Eyes examined the first page where abduction unfolded. A man with a gun, and a black aura. Hands sifted to a page where Carter was standing up to the monster while the mother was on the floor...with red stuff over her. Blood.

"Oh..." was all Jean uttered before Nicole could reply.

These pictures were Molly's were definitely memories, and thanks to them now he understood why Nicole was so afraid of her husband, hence the divorce. A heavy sigh escaped the man, while placing the pictures back on the tabletop. Brows furrowed from the frustration of having seen these recollections of Molly's memories. It was the father. It had to be. Not once was the father depicted in any of these drawings, but a monster was. Perhaps, Molly saw her own father as a monster. It would explain a lot actually. It made sense. Romans sudden disappearance after Carter's abduction, Nicole's reaction to whenever Roman Geero was mentioned, and the fact that these pictures lacked the human representation of Roman in all of them. Of course, these could be drawings based off of after the divorce occurred, hence why there was no father in any of them; but the latter was reinforced by his hunch. Besides, they could always confirm Jean's ever growing suspicion.

Jean looked back up to see Molly, most likely oblivious to anything Nicole might have said in response to his earlier question. They had their evidence right here. In front of all them, their prime witness who could net the profiling of their suspect with 100% certainty. Hands placed themselves on the table as Jean slowly rose to his feet. There was no need for further questions. There was an easy solution to all of this.

Looking over to Colton with his hoody placed over head, Jean gave a disappointed look as he averted gaze to Nicole. There was something he would need to talk to Colton about, but at a later time; and that was if Colton would even be willing to.

"Nicole... I'm going to call Mr. Ingrao so he can meet us here. I have an idea, and he's really the only one I know capable of going through with it." he said, taking his smartphone out. Errol was on speed dial. All he would have to do is press the button on the keypad and he'd be calling the Head Master's cell in a millisecond.

Assuming Nicole were to say yes, the cell would dial Errol Ingrao's cellphone number and Jean would ask whether Errol would be able to come to meet them at Nicole's residence.

Ryan noticed he was out of it, as he took breaks in between his sentences. He noticed those kind of things, and he didn't need telepathy to understand that. He looked down at his hand, which was resting on the worn out leather. He was playing with a ring.
Is he fidgeting just like me?
Ryan laid his hand on Jex's, and looked up with a gleaming smile and perked teary eyes.
"I trust you. You haven't manipulated the way I think at all."

So Jex has an uncle and a cousin involved with this, but he was still confused how this happened.
"Do these powers run through the family? What makes someone telekinetic or telegraphist?" he asked, still holding his hand. Ryan wanted Jex to know he supported him as much as he did. "Why don't more people know about us?"

As he was magically moved by Danni, he put a grin on his face. "You want me so bad you have to pull me in, or maybe its just the universe telling you that I'm the right man." She was ignoring him completely. "You know, ignoring me isn't ver polite. Look at Orphan guy, he would never ignore me. I like orphan guy." Still nothing from Danni. "Yeah well... **** you."

As the simulation progressed, Noah just sat there thinking about some things. I wonder what a cat shelter would be like? There would be a lot of pussy. I could use some pussy right now. Especially the fluffy kind. I'm not sure if I'd like them white or black though. Both are pretty nice looking. I just love the way my hand feels when I pet them too. I need to get a cat. Oh the simulation was over it seemed. Looks like Lief didn't do too hot.

"Well, you know what they say, father like son. Except this time you didn't leave a kid behind. Guess that makes you the better of the two evils. Anyway, you did a good job there Lief. It would have been perfect to if Danni wasn't manipulating it so you could fail every given turn." He looked at Danni. "You are a terrible person. Making orphan guy lose on purpose. It's kinda hot."

Jex felt a jolt of electricity up his spine when Ryan touched his hand.
He wasn't used to human contact and this caught him off guard. Jex forced himself to take a deep breath and relaxed, focusing on the touch. It was sincere, kind, and it felt kind of nice. After a moment of soaking it in, Jex opened his eye and smiled. "Well, we thought we were the only ones... But then people with powers like powers started to pop up, like you." He nudged Ryan, still letting the boy hold his hand. "We don't know where they come from, but we're trying to take them in and help them with it the best we can."

A short time skip later because taxi rides are boring, Jex had Ryan in his wheelchair and Errol was paying the cab driver. A cellphone rang and Errol took out his and looked at the screen as the driver went away. He looked up at Jex, and then they silently communicated to one another. Jex nodded his head and pushed Ryan towards the academy. "Okay Ryan, Uncle Errol has some things to take care of, so I'm going to help you get settled in so you can rest up." Jex went through the double doors of the mansion, grateful for the cool air and dimmer light from outside. He blinked a few times, pushing Ryan into the foyer. "So Ryan, what kind of room do you like? Do you want to be alone? Or room with someone? What kind of bed do you like? Position of window? Closet space? Lay it out on me!"

Errol was grateful his nephew was here to take care of some things. He pressed answer on the phone, preparing himself for the worse. He wanted to be in his office, drinking something. But that would have to wait. "Tell me you're having a better day than me," Errol mumbled as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

    ******

Nicole watched as Jean left the room to go call Mr. Ingrao, the man that stopped by earlier that week to ask and see if his gifted and in-tuned students could take a look at the case. She wasn't sure what was drawn on the pictures. No one had shown an interest in them before. When Nicole had a look the first time police were asking her questions and things weren't going well, they were just nonsense scribbles with no shape or form. She knew her daughter could be unpredictable though. Hearing the question about her ex husband made her hunch her shoulders. She was going to wait to answer that question as soon as Jean would be done on the phone.

"I didn't do anything," Danni growled under her breath as she wrote down notes on her clipboard. And indeed she didn't her hands were off the controls as soon as the simulation started up and Danni was busy taking notes. This was some great idea, Errol, Danni thought. Let me see all the ****** pasts and darkest fears. Just what I really wanted to see... Danni was using her powers to pick up the forgotten pieces of pencils, making them poor into a waste basket to keep the room cleaned. "Becca, you're next."

When Jex nudged him, his chest was aggravated again. Jex flinched his teeth a little.
"You have a tendency to do that," he joked as his left hand left Jex's and clutched his chest in an effort to contain the pain. "So...we don't know anything about how this started happening. Hmm..."

When they arrived at the mansion, Jex placed him inside the wheelchair and led him into the foyer. The mansion was large.
"Wow. It's big," said Ryan. Jex asked what kind of room he'd like to stay in.
"I don't mind being by myself. I think it would be better so I could rest properly. I'd love a soft bed though and I like it with light. I'm one of those people who open the curtains to see the beautiful sunrises," Ryan answered.
Ryan looked up at the picturesque lights and architecture in the mansion.
"I'd also like room service, and a five course dinner every day!" Ryan exclaimed jokingly. "Where is my foot rub and my servant, Charles!?" he spoke in a posh accent.

"Tell me you're having a better day than me," the voice spoke on the other end.

Jean couldn't help but unleash a grin when he heard the Head Master speak.
"You sound like you just want this day to end already." he started, taking a step forward to the corner of the house. "Was it the case files I asked you to put on my desk?" Hah... " he jested, placing a hand inside his jacket pocket before getting to business. "Anyway, so listen... The case with Carter Justice... I think there could be a potential breakthrough. As it turns out, Carter exhibited abilities like ours, and I suspect the little girl has them too... Errol, I suspect Ms. Justice's ex-husband is the one behind this... But I'm not to sure... So that's why I called you. The little girl, Molly. I think she saw who it was that took Carter that day. She seems to be not wanting to talk to us so I thought maybe... " Jean paused, hesitating for only a second. "I thought maybe you could... speak with Molly personally... I think the two of you would understand one another well."

Permission to use Errol to advance the plot a bit.

It was the early afternoon when the house door was knocked. The door opened to reveal Errol which was a welcoming sight by Jean. His presence in the house would hopefully reassure Nicole in the decision necessary for Errol to do what he was called into do.

Jex chuckled at Ryan's jokes about being served and foot massages. "I think you'll just want something light and your pain meds soon... Also, you have some antibiotics you need to take to help the wound heal." Jex went to a fancy-smanchy elevator with Ryan and pressed a button as soon as they both got inside. "I have just the room for you then," Jex said with a grin.

The elevator dinged when they reached the second floor and Jex led them both down some winding hallways before coming to another pair of double doors that read "Boy's Dorms" over it with fancy script writing. "Well, this is it." Jex took out his security card and swiped it over a scanner by the double doors. It clicked opened, and opened automatically to the two of them. "
I'll get you one of these," Jex said with a grin, dangling the white card in view before tucking it under his shirt. "And a map. The card won't work on the girl's side, trust me."

Jex then rolled the boy down the vast hallway. There were so many different kinds of doors, each of them with their own character and own labels "
That's my room, here," Jex pointed to a dark, Gothic looking door. "You'll get to know everyone else as time goes on." Jex came to a simple white door and used his card again to open it for Ryan. "We'll get you your own key eventually. Here you go!" The older teen gently pushed in the younger lad into the room, grinning from ear to ear (just only the basic furniture was in there, not the other fancy stuff you see, lol). "Huh? What do you think? You can always customized it to your liking, but it has a big huge window that faces the east, yeah?"

Errol nodded to Nicole as she welcomed him into the house, stepping inside quietly. He was getting a feel of the atmosphere, taking it all in. There was some hidden tension in the air, mixed with grief and sorrow... And someone had a really pissed off attitude. Errol took a second look to see that Christie was there, and... "Carter? Christie... I didn't expect you two to be involved." He glanced over at Jean, and then looked at Nicole who was standing hesitantly by Molly. "Ah..." He nodded in understanding. "I see..." He stroke the stubble on his chin, taking another look at Carter. The feelings that were radiating off of him were almost stifling. It seemed like this situation made the boy uncomfortable, and for good reasons. Although Errol had the option to present a teaching moment to show his students how to use their powers and abilities to help others, Errol realized that Carter needed some space. "Carter, Christie... Why don't you two step outside for a moment. Unless you would like to stay in here." Giving them the que to either scram or stay, Errol then turned to Nicole. "Do you mind if I debrief in private what has already been covered in the interview, Ms. Justice?"

Nicole shook her head. "No, not at all."

Errol nodded his head and gestured for Jean to follow him into the kitchen where they were still somewhat in view. As he walked across the living room though, he felt a pair of hazel eyes follow him carefully. Errol looked over to see the little girl, staring at him so intently, trying to figure him it. The Headmaster felt a tingle in his head, but said nothing as he winked to the girl and moved to the next room. "What do you have?"

The man was then explained to about Jean's findings, that Carter could have powers, and Molly as well. The father could also have abilities, but that was uncertain. The only witness to the kidnapping seemed to be Molly, but she wasn't talking. Errol then took the drawings the child had created, staring at them intently. He found two things different from the shadow figures and held the one where it was obvious that someone was being taken by force, and the window image. "
These ones... They're different. The yellow eyes don't appear on this one where Carter is standing up to the shadow man, or the kidnapping..." Errol frowned deeply, studying them again. "But why..." Errol looked at Jean as a deep, serious look begin to set in. "I think you're right, Molly is the only one we know that saw what happened that day... Mind Walking might be the only option. I will go speak to Ms. Justice about this, but... If we do, will you be ready to walk with me in Molly's mind?" Letting the man ponder on that, Errol exited the kitchen, taking the drawings with him. "Ms. Justice... Has your daughter ever drawn pictures like these before?"

Confused, Nicole took the drawings and looked down. Realizing what she was looking at, she gasped and covered her mouth. She looked at Errol in horror and then peered back at the drawings, looking at them one at a time. Her eyes began to tear up when she saw the picture of someone on the floor with red and grey on them while two little figures stood in front of them while a dark figure seemed to try to loom over them.

Errol understood right away that this was a first. "Ms. Justice, I know this is hard for you. We need to get to the bottom of this though... Did your ex-husband have anything unusual about him? Like your children...?"

Tears ran down Nicole's cheeks, and she sniffed, trying to wipe them away as she let the drawings sit on her lap. "My family... They thought he was possessed by the d-devil... They thought I would do something for him... He did things... Horrible things..."

That was enough for Errol. He placed a firm hand on Nicole's shoulders, in which she flinched but then relaxed when she realized she wasn't being attacked at all. "Nicole... The reason why the school took an interest in this case is because we want to help others... We want to help children like yours understand their powers and use them for good. I had my assumptions, but we had no idea that your children could possess supernatural abilities... But now we know."

"Oh God," Nicole whispered, covering her eyes with her hands as she begin to break down and cry.

The Headmaster reached for a tissue box, handing it to Nicole who took them graciously. "With your permission... We want to ask Molly about that day... I have a feeling she has something to say, but she won't say it out loud... Would mind if I held a Mind Walking session with your daughter? You will be in the same room as her. Jean will be apart of it. I will be reading her thoughts and seeing her memories in a sense. "

Nicole looked to Molly through teary eyes. Molly was watching her mother carefully and then did something unusual... She nodded her head to her mother, indicating that it was going to be alright, that she wanted to do this. Nicole sighed out through her tears and looked at the older man and then to Jean. "It won't hurt her, will it?"

    "
No, of course not. It may cause her to be uncomfortable and we may see things that you don't want us to see but-"

    "
If you can figure out what happened to my son through this... thing... do it... Please..."

Errol nodded his head. "Alright then, we will do it then..."

The room was then set up where the curtains were drawn tightly closed, furniture was moved out of the way so that there would be room on the floor to sit easily in a small circle. Three pillows were set down in the center of the living room, and Errol, Molly, and Jean would be sitting on them. No candles were lit, and all the lights were turned off but one in the corner. Errol sat on one of the pillows with Molly and Jean on either side of them. Before he began, he looked up at Nicole. "Under any circumstances are you not to interrupt. No matter what. Do you understand?"

Nicole nodded her head vigorously, sitting down in one of the living chairs. She didn't understand what was suppose to happen, but she knew it was going to be serious. It was going to be hard for her not to intervene if her baby seemed like she was in pain, but Errol assured her everything was going to be alright.

Errol sighed out, holding his hands out to his young friend and then to the little four year old. "Okay Molly... We need to hold hands to help us all stay connected through this. Don't be scared when you hear my voice in your mind... Jean will be able to hear you too. No one will be listening in on us."

Molly nodded her head and took Errol's and Jean's hands eagerly. She shut her eyes tightly without instruction and waited as Errol took Jean's hand and closed his eyes as well.

    Molly, can you hear me?

Yes, came the quiet, shy reply.

Good... Molly, can you tell us why you didn't want to talk before?

Molly sighed out loud and then squeezed their hands tighter. Because the lady in the shadows is going to kill my mom if she finds out I talk. Daddy didn't like it when I talked like this either...

There was a sudden flash of memories.

They were in a living room with an old TV set on, a man that looked like the one in the photograph that Nicole handed to Jean, with several beer cans around him was sitting there, staring angrily as if he was thinking of something. A younger Molly was playing in the corner with a teddy bar, but then she stopped when she looked up at her father.

Don't hurt mommy, came a little voice which reverberated around the room, but the little girl's lips didn't move.

The man in on the couch suddenly became rigid as crushed a beer can like it was nothing. It fell to the floor as he rose to his feet, seeming intimidating and dark. He strode across the room, grabbing little Molly by the collar of her ragged shirt and hoisted her up. She screamed, her hair was being pulled while she was being yanked to her feet, and the man shoved her down to the floor, hard. "
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO THAT! HUH?! HOW MANY!" The man spat at the little girl who was curled up on the floor with her arms over her head, crying. "I'll teach you a lesson. I'LL TEACH YOU ONE YOU WILL NEVER FORGET!"

The man seemed to have a very dark aura emitting off of him as his eyes were wild with anger. Suddenly the man was shoved off his feet and he stumbled from being drunk, causing a night stand with a lamp to topple to the floor. The light buzzed out of the lamp, and a very skinny, bruised and battered Nicole stood there in the eerie light of the TV, her chest heaving up and down heavily. She held her hands out in front of her as something glinted in the light, a knife of sorts.

    "
    Enough," Nicole breathed out
    .

Another image flash, and the small group were watching events unfold through Molly's eyes. A woman with a hood over her head was grinning at Molly, reaching out to her to touch her with her long fingernails to brush against her cheek. "Cute little thing... Too bad we don't have enough evidence to take you as well..." The hood had yellow eyes on top and little cat ears poking out at the top.

Errol breathed out softly, shifting the attention off of the memories for a moment. He could feel Molly shaking through her hand and felt compassion for the girl. But there was still more that needed to be done. Good job, Molly... Let's try to focus... Do you remember what happened that day? The day your brother was taken?

    I think so...

An image flashed to a green park and a bright sunny afternoon day. Nicole's voice could be heard, talking to another woman. Words really couldn't be understood though since this was through Molly's point of view. Molly was in a red dress, staring out to a thicket of bushes and trees where the creek was. It seemed so far away. She could barely see Carter moving around, his green shirt flashing here and there. He called out to a friend who was up stream, and then bent down to grab something. Molly then saw a flash of shadows and then saw water splashing. Molly's widened, her little heartbeat could be heard echoing faster and faster in the vision. She looked up at her mother who seemed so engrossed with what was being said to her. She looked at the other lady that was talking to her so calmly. Molly didn't like her.

The little girl tugged hard on Nicole's hand, who wondered what was the matter. When Molly looked back, she saw the hooded woman from earlier, smirking at her from the shadows of the trees. She put a finger up to her lip and flashed a gun. Her brother's head was at the barrel of the gun. Molly looked up at her mother again and tugged even harder, but by the time Nicole and Molly looked back, Carter and the woman were gone. Molly broke free from her mother and ran as fast as she could to the thicket of trees.

    "
    Molly!"

    And the vision stopped.
