He was covered by darkness, but this darkness was but a mere momentary thing as it had faded away and brought the trio over towards a new place. The travel through mist was now a common thing that he had gotten quite used to. It was true he himself had the power of mist, but to use it would be quite damaging to him. Alistair smiled his usual smile as he took a step forward and stared around.

"Hm..interesting"
Alistair said calmly as he continued to take a step forward, but his eyes widened as his body froze "What...the hell..." Alistair muttered. His eyes were focused on the church ahead of him wondering just what was in it. The feeling that he had felt had grown and Alistair merely crossed his arms before closing his eyes.

It was a conflicting feeling, he felt fear, but at the same time he felt excitement. He felt the soul up ahead, it was faint and light, but it was already able to show it power. Alistair began to let out a quite laughter before looking over his shoulder at Lu "I do know how you hate unnecessary questions, but do tell me why we are here? I'd rather we not waste time and all...with me being cursed and all..." Alistair said nonchalantly, only concluding that this soul he sensed was something involved with all this.

A sleepless night only meant one thing for the boy. Training. Demons were just a waste of his time so most of his effort was spent practicing his control over the mist. Soren had hoped by now he would have gotten better at stopping time but even though he believed he had the strength to do so, his attempts had been met with failure. The one time he thought he had been able to do it might has well have just been a fluke. It would take more than that if they were to leave Hell.

By the time Soren had left the training room...Well, he wasn't sure what had happened since he spent the night away from the others. He just knew he could not stay in that room forever. Unfortunately, trying to get a breath of "fresh air" only meant a slight change of scenery from a training room to the dark and empty hallway that held the same kind of heavy air. He wanted to feel the breeze of the outside world once more but the more he thought over it the more it depressed him. There was still so much to do and still so much that could happen. Mali couldn't be counted on. Leaving Hell would only lead to Lu or someone like her stopping time and dragging them back. And if he could keep himself by being frozen by learning to control that same power, there was no guarantee that he had the strength to fight off whoever came after them. "And if we do get out...what then?" He spoke under his breath as he wandered the halls aimlessly. Even in the best case scenario, Soren could not imagine things going smoothly for them. He knew things would get much worse before they could ever get better.

Milo stared down his window to watch the busy streets below, checking his watch for the time as he waited for the coming hour. After his last heist several days ago he had been taking the time to clear up loose ends. Getting rid of his coworkers and taking their cut for his own had proven to be more time consuming than he initially anticipated. If it hadn't been for the help of a special friend, he might have had to spend months just trying to track them down. Well, it didn't matter now. They were gone and his was richer because of it.

He moved away from the window and looked down at the pendant hung around his neck. It was a shame that it was worthless to anyone but him. It could have been made to be more practical but his friend had fashioned it just for this sole purpose. He touched his hand to the pentagram and turned it over, feeling its unnatural warmth. If it hadn't been for his curiosity he would have left the country by now in search for a new prize to set his sights on. Instead, now he had to wait in his apartment far atop the city of Chicago. As he went to sit down, he gazed at the empty space before him. It was quite luxurious as Milo had no taste for cheap hotels but, as the complete lack of any personal touch could show, the place had never been meant to house him for more than a few weeks.

It was just supposed to be one job before he had to leave. Just one. He checked his watch one more time and muttered a curse out of impatience as he stood once more and headed back to the window. Milo smirked as he stared down to the building across the street. Its roof had just finished being repaired. To him, there was something so amusing about staying right across the very bank he had just robbed.

For the most of the plane ride Logan was in his own little world staring out the window. As usual more question about various things were piling up in his mind. While Samael was useful for some of them, mostly the ones that involved himself, there were still things that he wasn't quite sure about. Though since waiting til the answer came to him seemed to work for the most part, he decided to continue doing that. As he left the trance like daze he'd put himself in, he noticed that the plane was now landing.

The group on the plane all exited not to long after it had landed. Seems like the compass had brought them to the States this time. Well it would make talking to the next angel easier, well for him at least. He'd knew that Leons presences aided in speaking with angels, but aside from that he didn't know how many of them could speak English. However that wouldn't matter much so long as Leon or Hana was with them and since they had Leon, there was nothing to worry about.

Following the lead of Sal and the compass, they ended up in front of an apartment building. The building was placed right across the street from a bank, probably for either convenience or just cause they wanted to put it there. Right now whatever reason for the bank being there wasn't the top priority concern at moment. What was was finding out which floor the angel was on. "Now we just need to find out what floor to search." He muttered to himself. He had no desire to search every floor of the apartment complex.

The gang had arrived in the land of America, a place that Sal hadn't been in...well like six months or so. He didn't come here often on his extremely bored trips, but there was still something about this country that he liked, and so he had continued coming here. They were now in the great city of...Chicago. Quite the urban place really. With the entirety of the gang reaching touchdown, they had followed the compass until they ran into an apartment. Wonderful. A multi-floor complex building was just what they needed with a device that only pointed in non-vertical directions. Investing in some kind of angelic gps system would probably be a good idea if something like this were to ever happen again.

Logan had said exactly what Sal was thinking and so he had come up with a plan. Following the compass until it pointed towards a door, they knocked on it, only for nothing really fruitful to come out of it.
"So, I suppose what we should do in order to minimize on the time spent here, is simply split up and search this exact spot," he pointed towards the door, "on each and every floor individually. Your angel inside should be able to identify whether or not the person you're speaking to is indeed the angel we are looking for." With that, their group of Hana, Logan, Sal, Vincent and Kai went searching for an angel. Sal ended up going to a higher floor and simply knocked on the door waiting for a response.

Now that they had a plan of action, Logan made his way to one of the more middle floors of the buildings. Upon getting to the floor, he looked around at all the doors that he was going to have to check. He really didn't want to start going door to door, making up a different excuse for each person who happened to open the door. Maybe Samael could provide some insight. Is the angel on this floor or not?

At the moment I can't tell. You'll have to get closer to someone for me to be able to find out.

Well, that backfired on him. So he was going to have to go door searching after all. Guess it was time to start thinking of excuses now. With a quick sigh, he made he way towards a door and knocked on it.

Temeluchas stood outside the church with determined eyes. This was it -- not exactly what she was expecting. This place was pretty old and dinky. Pathetic. It was hard to believe that they were really keeping Leviathan underneath this pathetic looking church. A church was a good cover though. The blessings were strong and it was under constant prayer. Leviathan would have a hard time getting out; that was the goal anyway. There was no doubt about it being the right place with how strong the magical power was and one glance up confirmed Mammon's presence circling overhead. This was definitely the right place.

"I do know how you hate unnecessary questions, but do tell me why we are here? I'd rather we not waste time and all...with me being cursed and all..."

She scowled at the imbecile. Mali stepped forward and looked at her curiously. Augh. Honestly, they should just know by now. "We're here because this is the resting place of Leviathan's prison. However, we cannot cross the barrier because I am a Dark Angel and you have chosen to reclaim your title as one; which is why Mali has been brought along. She's a Nephilim, born of light, even with my powers coursing through her, which means she can cross the line. That is also why Mammon is just circling around up there." She pointed towards the sky where the winged demon lurked. "The key to winning resides in that church. Whoever controls the Serpent holds all the power of this war in their hands. I could beat everyone."

Knock knock. Milo turned towards the door and raised an eyebrow. He had been so busy pacing that he had lost track of time. He opened the door to find himself facing a young man with a compass in his hand. There was no way he could have been handed the compass. Perhaps...

"I was expecting Xathanael. I was sure someone like her would be using the compass." Milo looked behind Sal to check if anyone was with him. They seemed to be alone for the moment. "Did she die? That'd be amusing considering all I've heard about--Oh wait, I guess you're wondering why I'm not surprised to see you." Milo held up the pendant hung around his neck. "Armaros is very good at making trinkets like this. It heats up when that compass points our way. Not the most useful thing around but it takes away the surprise of unannounced visitors."

Too much talk.

Milo scratched his chin trying to ignore the angel scratching at the inside his head. "So what's another angel doing here? If you're here to bond over a few drinks--"

The point. Get to it.

Yes yes. You're worse than I am. We'll have to put a muzzle on you. He sighed and shook his head. "So what is this visit about?"

When the door opened up he was greeted by a black haired fellow, who seemed to be none to surprised by his appearance. Rather, he seemed to know just who the fallen angels were. He even seemed to be expecting Xathanael to be the one at the door with the compass. Ironically, even if Sal didn't have the compass on him right now, the other person who usually had it wasn't even Hana anyway. He then continued to go on and explain about how his angel, Armaros as he said and Zachariel confirmed, was quite good at making trinkets. That very trinket he was wearing was apparently able to tell when they're compass was pointing towards him. That seemed like an interestingly situational thing indeed.

Sal continued to smile and simply said,
"well since you already know about your angel heritage that takes away all the obligatory explanation about who we are away. As for Xathanael, she's actually here, just searching a different floor for you most likely. Problems with compasses when it comes to multi-storied buildings as you could probably figure." Figuring that introductions were in order Sal continued saying, "my name is Sal, with my angel being Zachariel. Now, as for why I'm at your doorstep at this moment, I would like to ask you to come along with our group of fallen angels to help stop the forces of hell from rising up and burning the world to ashes."

The day had seemed to be rather successful, for their group at the very least. The group of three veterans had over scene how the others did while they were training off the demons, and for the most part everything had gone well with the new recruits. One like William and Lauren who had been around for a longer time than the other angels had an easier time, while the others needed to have a tad bit of getting used to actually fighting against demons. Regardless, the demons had not lasted forever and so eventually the area around the warehouse was completely desolate and so they had nothing to train off for the rest of the day. Of course this was completely false, as once the demons had all been cleared out the only thing left for people to train off of, was each other.

Having paired everyone off to have some sort of training partner, everyone, including Richard, Sam and Leon, had done some training off of their teammates. At the end of the day everyone was probably exhausted, but if it made them that much closer with their angel then it was all for the best. Now that the sun was going down it was time for them to find suitable lodging. Of course, it was easy for them to find a vacant building if they actually wanted to, but the thought of sleeping where demons lived and could eat their throat at any given moment was not the most comforting. And so, Richard went to different buildings, got out something that could be considered padding, and told everyone to sleep in the warehouse for the night. Being that it was blessed so that the swords were safe at all times, this would keep the demons away and so everyone could sleep safely. Laying down on his makeshift sleeping area, Richard closed his eyes, feeling the fatigue set in and fell asleep.

"Well now that you've found me," Milo pulled off the pendant and crushed it in his hand leaving nothing but a fine black powder to fall from his hand, "I don't have any use for this anymore."

That took me three hundred years to make.

Far too long for something so useless.

You would not say that if you were the one who was tracked down and killed lifetimes ago by some self-righteous Fallen. Do you wish to know why it took so long to make that? Humans have such short lives. That, along with the materials I needed-

And that's a story I don't care for. Keep it to yourself. Milo reached into his pocket, checking his watch with his free hand, before pulling out a credit card. "My name is Milo. The annoying voice in my head is Armaros." He held out the card to Sal. "Are all angels so paranoid about being found?" He shook his head not caring for an answer. He figured he just got stuck with a defective one. "Here, kid, get you and your friends a nice place to stay. Go ahead, spend it all on one place if you'd like, I have far too much money to know what to spend it all on anyways." Milo smirked. "And get yourself some new clothes. You look a little too shabby to be renting yourself out to an angel."
If Hell was on the move, Milo wondered why Lucifer had not already sent an invitation of his own. Maybe things were already cramped downstairs. Playing for Hell's side was not an ideal situation but if all Heaven had were a bunch of rejects on the frontlines... Still, he had yet to see the others Sal had spoke of. The last thing he wanted to do was be on the losing side of what was coming. Fighting for things like justice or love was against his personal code but if Hell had no use for him, then he had little choice in the matter. "Bring your friends back tomorrow. I want to know who I'd be fighting alongside before agreeing to anything." And, more importantly, if there was anything in it for him.

After Sal said what he needed to say and all was said and done between the two Milo shut the door and went to sleep.

Sal had been rather pleased with how things had turned out with Milo, as his name was. He found it rather comical that he simply crumbled the pendant in his hand, and just through the resulting dust away. He was then handed a credit card to use wherever he saw fit to, to have all of his team mates stay at for the night. While Hana's near infinite amount of money would probably have done the trick just as well, he was not going to refuse a kind gesture such as this and instead took it. Sal simply said,
"I'll be sure to bring them, then. Have a good night Milo." With that, the door was closed and Sal had walked off.

After a while of searching the premises he had found all the other fallen who were searching for Milo, and had told them about what had happened between him and the new found fallen. So with that said the gang had all gone to a hotel, but not before buying new clothing, as this was probably the second time the entire time for this trip. With that out of the way, he went to the hotel room he was staying at and fell asleep there.

June had finished the school day as normal and had gotten back home as she simply stared at the television screen, watching whatever show happened to be on. When it came to shows she actually had absolutely no preference. Stories weren't the thing she mainly focused on. Neither was acting for that matter. She simply liked watching the scenarios play out in whatever they happened. Whether it was the people killing the zombies in the Awkwardly Shuffling Half-Living, or that Hermano's half-sister was actually the evil twin of his great-aunt's nice in the hit soap opera, Some of My Kids, or even the fact that everyone is somehow related to one kid in Twice Upon a Space, June was simply happy to watch the programs on.

This is to say, it was quite weird when June had just been informed that her family was going to be going to Alaska to check out this author's books and what not. June had absolutely no patience for books at all. There was nothing enticing about having to focus on the words on the page, and as such, she remained adamant about her stance in not wanting to go.
"Juuuuuunnnneeeee!" Her father, August, had yelled to her. He was getting a bit annoyed that his daughter was having none of this family outing to Alaska. She even got to miss school because of it. What was wrong with kid's these days? August walked over to the living room where June was simply sitting on the couch and said, "listen, June, we're leaving now. And you're too young to stay home by yourself."

June looked to him and pouted."I'll stay with May."

August rubbed his temples and said, "listen, you can't always stay with May when we go out. We need to do more things as a family, ya know? Not to mention her parent's anniversary is coming up soon and you and May would probably get in the way of what Mr. Winter has planned for it. So it's a no go on the sleepover." June looked back up to her father and then immediately shifted back to the television screen. It was then that Mr. Summer thought of the perfect plan. "We'll be taking an airplane there. And you know, airplanes have movies that play on them, for the entire flight." June raised an eyebrow as she was intrigued by this. Despite her love of television, she didn't actually ever see that many movies, and so this sounded like a good time for that as well. "Plus," he pulled a lollipop out of his pocket and handed it over to, "there's more where that came from if you come along with."

June reluctantly took the lollipop and started enjoying it. Mmmm, apple. "Fine." With that, June had jumped off the couch and went to go get her stuff to get ready for the trip. It was there that August Summer let out a small "yes," in regards to having just successfully bribed his only daughter into coming with him and his wife on a trip that she had absolutely no interest in whatsoever...he then realized he'd probably have to reevaluate his parenting methods later down the road. Soon after the trio that was the Summer family went to the airport and took off for Alaska. June stared vigilantly at the screen showing the movie until sleep had overtaken her completely.

Needless to say, Logan had no luck in finding the angel that they were looking for on the floor he'd chosen. At the end of his search, he was sitting down waiting for someone else to turn up. His wait wasn't long since it was Sal who'd found him and took him back to where the others were. When everyone was grouped together, Sal explained to them that he'd found the angel and how he wanted to see all of them before making a decision. Well that certainly made their job easier.

After leaving the apartment they all went to get some new clothes and headed to a hotel to stay at. Once everyone had their rooms, Logan went to his and went to sleep.

After coming back from the throne room, she slowly shut the door behind her and staggered over to the large bed. She limply fell onto it as tears streamed down her face.

"I'm sorry.... I'm so, so sorry... " The girl barely moved. She just stayed dormant on the bed, crying herself to sleep.

DAY 74

Thursday, December 5th, 2013
[IMG]

Sal woke up that day getting ready to get things moving along once again. Yesterday he had thought they made a good deal of progress, having gone from Brazil to the city of Chicago, they met up with a new one of the fallen and didn't actually have to explain much about it to him seeing as he already knew about the whole angel thing. Granted, it was still a tad up in there as to whether or not he was actually going to join their group and cause, but that was a problem to be rectified today. All that was left now was having the group meet up with Milo and then he would give them his final verdict.

Getting himself out of bed, Sal had awaited the rest of the fallen angels to wake up until he was finally ready to get moving to the apartment building where the angel was staying. While he did say that he wanted to see the rest of the squad, their entire squad was actually not here to begin with. In fact, about half of them were actually off somewhere else getting stronger at the moment. Nevertheless, this amount of people would have to do for the time being. When everyone was ready, the recruitment squad moved out to the apartment building, went up to Milo's door, and Sal simply knocked on it.

Brandon woke up that morning feeling nice a reeeefreshed. Man, there was something about a church that just made a fallen angel feel so nice. Ironically enough. Brandon jumped out of bed and stretched himself out, getting ready for day two of guard duty action. He had volunteered for guarding over the seal of Rivaille, the terrifying super boss that could basically end the world if it was freed. And Heinrik was here to help defend this place with him. Together, there was no way the two of them could lose to whatever would come there way...permitting that the coin flips don't totally screw the both of them over.

So far, the job had been rather easy. Save for the large amount of trembling in the earth, there was not much to really be cause for concern. Granted, the earthquakes were probably related to the giant snake monster starting to be more free, and that was a lot to worry about, but whatevs. So long as they made sure no one passed to get to him, Brandon considered everything else a moo point. Ya know, like a cow's opinion. Brandon, feeling fully ready for his job, walked over to the church portion and resumed guard duty for the day.

"Just like we discussed, Alistair and I will be waiting out here. if you have any trouble inside, just lure the dumb bastards out here and we can help you deal with them. Once they've been dealt with, there will be no one to continue holding up the barrier. In the mean time, we'll deal with Mammon and the others that are lurking about. Understood?" Lu asked sternly. She wasn't a fan of repeating herself and there was no way Mali would make her do so.

She nodded once. "Got it. Go in there, smack them around. If it gets to be too much, drag them out here. Anything else?"

Temeluchas scrunched her brow up and her golden eye focused on the doors of the church before drifting to the abbey attached to the back. "I sense some other sort of presence. The barrier is too strong for me to identify what exactly it is, but keep your eyes peeled and stay alert. We don't want any surprises."

"All righty then." Mali turned away from Lu and Alistair, heading for the doors. She could feel the barrier and hesitated for a moment. Temeluchas said it would be fine because she was born of light, but it still worried her. She wasn't exactly that righteous like her father's name entitled her to be. She was in fact quite the opposite. More of Lu's blood seemed to course through her veins than her father's. It made the sense of security weak when thinking about crossing a holy barrier and surviving. Eh. There was no way of knowing without doing.

She stepped forward and felt a ripple through her body. Her fingers wrapped around the doorknob and she turned it slowly, pushing the door open. Mali stepped inside the church and walked between rows and rows of pews. Down at the other end of the sanctuary was some white - haired boy and she pursed her lips. "Hey down there!" she called.

Brandon had been doing his rounds...whatever the heck they were actually supposed to be. He actually had no idea what he was supposed to do in order to guard against any intruder that may try to enter this place. He was also pretty unsure of what he'd be even guarding against. Maybe there'd be a mass of demons trying to pile drive their way into the church. Also, if they did come...where were they going? Brandon knew that Rivaille was hidden here...but he had literally no idea as to how to get to him. Thinking back he couldn't remember if he was actually given any specific instructions. Ah, whatever.

It was then that his attention was turned over to a voice belonging to a girl, who was roughly just slightly younger than him. Probably a few years at most. He hadn't seen her in these past few days, though he was positive he hadn't seen all the nuns yet...Hmm, was she from here. When he actually continued to look at her he noticed something really weird. The normally white rose petals that floated around people who were usually angels were simply landing on her and immediately withering away. That definitely sent a bad vibe down Brandon's spine. Nevertheless, he waved to her and said, "hello there Miss. Sorry, but could you please leave here." Polite approach first. That always worked...well excluding the times it didn't...which was always...Brandon then got ready to fire off lighting at a moments notice.

Someone's here.

Henrik rubbed his eyes, glad that this was no hallucination. At least Araquiel had heard it as well. He looked over to his wife who seemed was confused. It sounded like no one from their group. They were not supposed to be back so soon anyways. "Stay here. Don't leave unless I come for you."

"You're in no condition-"

"Something's wrong. Stay put." Iris looked up at him with concern but made no further attempt to stop him as he left to find whoever it was that had spoken. Henrik drew Nakah as he slowly made his way through the abbey until he stopped behind Brandon, the only other person who had stayed behind. There was a young girl there in that same room with them, someone immediately recognizable as no angel. What experiences Araquiel had in previous lives had already blended with his own as well as his ability to pick out those who controlled such a dark power as that mist. The scent was overwhelming yet this blonde girl could not have been an angel. She was something else entirely, something he--no--Araquiel had seen many times before. A nephilim.

That's not Anna. Our blood doesn't run through her veins.

Henrik was unsure if he should have been relieved to see this girl standing before them. His children should have appeared to be around this girl's age. Even as the pain of emptiness grew inside of him he stepped forward. "She's nephilim. I've--no--Araquiel's dealt with many before." He spoke quietly towards Brandon.

She's not full-grown but we're not exactly in peak shape. Kill her quickly.

The first thing on his mind was not what she was doing there nor was it the violent intent he could feel from her. "Do you know my children?" If she was like the twins she had to have been in the same situation as Soren and Anna. "Soren. Anna. Those are their names. They're also nephilim. Where are they?"

Milo had just finished adjusting his suit when the door was knocked on. The others must have been early birds. At least this meant he did not have to wait all day for them to show up. After one last look in the mirror to fix his hair, Milo headed towards the door and opened it to find the group Sal had mentioned the day before. The boy had even taken his advice and cleaned up a little. Now, if he were to join them, he would not have to be embarrassed to be seen with them.

"Much better." Milo spoke to Sal before looking the others over carefully. None of them seemed to be particularly weak but there seemed to be so little of them. "Are there any more of you? Or is this it?"

Adam woke up not as sore as he was the day before. He hadn't really done yesterday except train, and he wasn't exactly sure if today was going to be something notable either. He wasn't feeling up to one of Semyaza's mental training sessions, so he got himself up and out of bed and headed out of the room.

He walked down the hallway and stopped for a moment to look over down the hallway at Joslyn's room, and he just stared at it. He wasn't sure if he was feeling guilt or not, but he was effeminately not receiving a positive emotion from it. He shook it off finally and walked himself into the training room.

He decided to just practice basic combat again, because based on what happened with Sal, he was lucky he made it at all. Adam unhooked Nahkosh from the chain around his neck and began his training for the day.
