Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

The longer he stared the longer each second felt. Soren narrowed his eyes at the clock and folded his arms across his chest.

    Tick.

He took in a deep breath. This had not been as easy to get the hang of as teleporting was.

    Tock.

Soren growled in frustration. Two days of trying had been enough for him. Instead spending his time in the training room he had been wasting effort for a whole lot of nothing. He picked up the clock ready to throw it against the wall. He stopped listened closer for something he began to hear. Or, rather, what he didn't hear. The clock had stopped ticking. Soren turned it over curiously, checking to see if he had done something to break it. Nothing seemed wrong with it. Just as he began to wonder about taking it apart the clock began working again. He stared at the object in confusion as he turned it over in his hands absentmindedly.

"Where did you get that anyways?" The bed shifted as his sister sat beside him, looking at what he held. "Is it a present for-"

"No." Soren sighed. "I stole it from somewhere. Easier to know if it's working when I have something like this."

"When what's working?" Anna raised her eyebrow. Her brother had been spending more time in their room recently but he was just as detached as ever.

"Danel could stop time. Lu can too. I need to be able to do the same." Soren put the clock down and placed a hand to his forehead. "Sometimes I wonder if we'll never be safe until every angel is dead."

Anna frowned. "I'm sure not all of them are bad."

    "Name one that isn't."

Anna looked down and swung her legs as she tried to think of an answer. "Well...at least one of our parents is an angel."

"Who's to say they aren't as bad as Regulus?" He looked over at his sister. She kept her eyes to the floor, sighing heavily, unable to give him any kind of response. The last thing he wanted to do was get her depressed over something like this but being soft would only lead to disappointment and could even get them killed.
"Don't worry. One way or another, we're leaving this place."

It was finally time to end it all; the scenery had changed from its flaming wasteland to what looked like a calm utopia. Nothing in sight, the ground was like water and ruins of ancient lands covered the surrounding area. Sitting up on onto of a half broken pillar sat Azrael, glancing downwards at Alistair who slowly began to walk up to the dark angel.

    “So…you’ve finally come…”

“It’s only been two days…though I will admit the wait has been almost unbearable”
Alistair smirked as he stared at the dark angel and in return the dark angel smirked back as he stared down past his long bangs of hair and chuckled. Sliding off the pillar he sat upon, Azrael’s body slowly descended downwards towards the ground. Alistair’s body tensed and prepared itself as he watched the dark angel descend. His body shook, but not from fear or terror, but of excitement instead.

Upon the slight contact of Azrael’s foot touching the ground the gong had been rung and their conflict began. Without a second of hesitation the two rushed forward towards each other with the intent of slashing the one before them. Azrael’s palmed opened up as his fingers turned black and longer. Sharp enough to slash with, Azrael rose his arm and swung downwards at Alistair who then managed to sidestep and avoid the blow.

Raising his own arm upwards, a sword shot out of the palm of his hand and Alistair immediately grabbed it. Taking his chance he swung down at Azrael, but Azrael was quick and caught the blade with his other hand. Recovering his stance, Azrael smirked as he used his free hand and sent it towards Alistair’s chest.

Sensing the incoming attack Alistair used his own free hand and smacked away the incoming hand from Azrael. He knew he was in a bad position so the aristocrat immediately let go of the sword he held and leapt backwards, pointing all his fingers at the angel and firing smaller blades at him upon the jump.

Smaller blades coated Azrael’s arms like scales and using his arms he blocked the onslaught of blades. In retaliation Azrael swung his arms and the blades dispersed from his arms and headed straight towards Alistair.

Alistair’s eyes widen at the sudden attack, but he knew he couldn’t flinch from such an attack. Preparing his body, two swords formed from his body and using the blades, Alistair swung at the incoming attack, deflecting most, while the rest dug deep into his body. Not taking a mere step back, Alistair instead stood forward and rushed towards Azrael and the two once again stood before each other.

A curved blade formed and Alistair slashed forward while Azrael used his own assortment of blades. The clashing of blades was numerous, far too many to count. Each contact resulted in the blades being shattered, most of these blades were stained with the other’s blood while the others did not even get a chance at contact with the other’s body. Worn and torn were their bodies, but as time moved on their bodies would recover, only to be cut open once again.

It was their sheer will that pushed them further, that healed their wounds and allowed them the energy to continue to fight on. Even when the blades were no more, when they had nothing left to slash with they still had their bodies as weapons. Black energy surrounded their fists and with these fists they began to pummel each other to a bloody pulp.

The powers of souls, Alistair held this power greatly and wished to use it to defeat the angel before him. He gathered as much energy as he could and immediately sent his fist straight in the gut of Azrael, sending the dark angel flying. Panting in fatigue, he watched as the fallen angel continued to lay on the ground.

    “This…is far from over…”

    “I’m glad you can tell…”
The voice of Azrael was calm and nonchalant and soon enough Azrael calmly rose to his feet and rubbed the back of his neck with a relaxed sigh. For Alistair everything froze, the once peaceful area had darkened signalling the bad omen to come.

    “Ah…that was a good warm up…now then…let elevate this further…”

Using his blackened fingers, Azrael snapped his fingers as a black distortion formed before him. Alistair watched gritting his teeth slightly, but his eyes widened immediately upon watching what arose from the distortion. He had learned about dealing with fear, but he couldn’t help but feel it as he stared at the single object that had risen from the ground.

    “Aron…dight….”

Alistair spoke the name of his faithful companion as he watched the blackened sword rise up. The appearance was different from the one he had used, much more powerful and overbearing, but he could tell it was the very same blade that he had carried around all this time.

Azrael merely took grasp of the hilt of the blade and raised it skyward. Black wings that had been taken finally appeared on the back of Azrael and spread out wide and Azrael merely stared forward calmly at Alistair before slashing downwards.

Azrael did not need to step forward nor need to even be close to Alistair, the downward slash had managed to do its job and Alistair’s chest was sliced, leaving a clean straight wound. It was as if he was paralyzed by fear itself. Blood trickled down his mouth and his body stepped back, but Alistair remained standing.

    “Why…”

It was all Alistair could mutter, he couldn’t understand why he held such an attachment with such a blade. It was a blade that did not belong to him, a blade that only chose to be wielded by the hand of Azrael, so why was it that he felt such a connection with the blade? Calling forth a sword from his own body, Alistair rushed forth at Azrael.

    “Pointless…”

One slash was all it took to cut through the blade Alistair held along with cut through his body as well. As his body flew back from the force he saw something. He saw another boy, a familiar boy that had he had dreamed about before, a boy that was once abandoned by his prostitute of a mother, one that assaulted the streets of London for the sake of the orphaned.

His mind snapped away from the vision only to return to the hell before him. His mind was dull, but his body moved forward on its own, attempting to slash at the angel in a pitiful attack. His body was slashed numerous times, and with each slash he witnessed more and more visions.

A man that was revered as a saint and lived to protect the people, an assassin that lived to kill others, he saw many of the same kind of people and though the held many differences they all held one simple fact, they lived for life. Never disrespecting it, never demining it, they fought for life, tossing away their very own in the end. Some were praised, some were hated, but more and more Alistair realized why he saw each one of these visions.

With each slash that assaulted him, the recovery rate of his body began to increase until finally Alistair had managed to sidestep from a vertical slash causing Azrael to raise an eyebrow.

    “THAT IT!”

Azrael cried out happily as he continued to slash repeatedly at Alistair who managed to dodge each and every slash.

“DON’T MAKE THIS BORING FOR ME ALISTAIR! HAVE YOU FINALLY GOTTEN IT?!”

Azrael cried out in joy as he raised his sword upwards and swung downwards at Alistair. Both hands rose up and a black blade formed in his hands, blocking Arondight from harming Alistair. The two looked at each other with a grin.

“Yeah…I figured it out…next time don’t tell such ****** lies”

Alistair pushed back Azrael and prepared the blade in his hand. In his hand he held his own Arondight once no different from the one Azrael held.

“Arondight is my sword, we are the same person after all, what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours”

The two rushed forward once again and began slash at each other. Blades clashed, struggling to overpower the other before them. Alistair was knocked back, and Azrael’s wings spread as a giant skeletal arm rose from the ground and grasped Alistair’s leg, tossing him up into the sky. With a smirk, Azrael’s wings flapped and let the dark angel arise from the ground and pursue Alistair.

An assault of slashes assailed Alistair and all he really could do was merely deflect whatever blows he could. Each slash pushed him higher and higher up into the sky and Alistair immediately swung his sword as hard as he could downwards at Azrael and sent the angel further downwards.

He could never reach the angel’s level of power, but even so this victory was all that he needed. Decending further Alistair thrust his blade forward as Azrael did the same. The final decisive moment was met, Azrael’s blade pierced Alistair’s shoulder, but Alistair had managed to pierce the angel’s chest and the two collided to the ground.

“I am no mere host for your soul…you are me and I am you…when I die, I will return to you and become one…these memories, these feelings they will not vanish…”

Alistair stood over the angel with his blade still inserted in his chest. Calm eyes stared down at Azrael as a smile rose on the angel’s face as his body slowly began to disintegrate.

“Very well…it is time I showed you the truth…”

His body now completely gone, the world suddenly began to shake. At an alarming rate the ground began to crack and the area began to shatter. The world was crumbling and as Alistair glanced upwards his body immediately froze in sheer terror. Amidst the chaos, he saw it, and from it a light was fired, devouring Alistair.

    “So this is…the true death…”
Eyes widened as he rose up from his bed and began to pant, holding his chest as he attempted to try and control his breathing. He glanced around his room, finding it hard to believe that he was back in his bedroom once more. After what he had been through it felt as if he was now n some sort of dream world.

He did not wish to make too much noise and wake up his mistress so Alistair quickly got out of bed and let out a sigh as he placed on his clothing. Fully dress, he noticed something from the corner of his eye and raised an eyebrow before smiling. Calmly, he walked up to the place he left Arondight in and stared down at the sword.

The blade was no longer in its sealed form, now taking form of a stronger and more powerful blade. Grasping the blade, he rose it up to examine it before placing it downwards and took a seat. For now all that was left was for him to tend to his mistress' wishes.

The sounds had been permeating through the entirety of the church, he had felt. The lazy man got up and sighed. Between these scratching noises, the odd feeling of revitalization from simply being in here, and the feeling of annoyance coming from his angelic persona, it was as if the lord himself was trying to prevent Richard from sleeping. They had, obviously, failed, but nonetheless, even he had found it a challenge to do so. "Good, looks like I didn't even have to force you up." Maalik was sitting next to Richard's bed and looked over to him.

'There's something out there, isn't there?' The sheer fact that Maalik was showing himself to Richard clearly meant that he wanted something from the man and given this unnatural scratching at the church, he figured these oh so terrifying beasts they were supposed to be fighting were here.

"Most likely. I'm here to tell you that you have to do whatever it takes to defend this place." Richard raised an eyebrow at the angel. "Demons haven't tried to swarm us like this before, normally it'd just be some sort of natural event. The sheer fact that their using physical bodies to come in and take us down, when we are inside a church, means that something important is probably here. So get moving."

With that, Maalik had dissipated in his white fire once more, leaving Richard to get out of bed. Picking himself up, he sighed. Stretching himself out a bit, he pulled El-Harriss out of his pocket and looked at it. He flipped it around a bit before pocketing it, getting ready to go to the sanctuary of the church. Once he got there, he saw that Hana was in the room as well, and no one else. Looks like he had been one of the early risers. Weird. Looking at the red head, though, she didn't seem to be in the most well rested of conditions. Waving to her he said, "morning. I take it you didn't have that great of a nights rest?" After staring at the door for a bit he turned back to her and said, "so, what's out there?"

Ever since reaching this place William had a bad feeling rolling up his spine. He had hoped that this would change the next day, but as his eyes opened up this did not change in the slightest. A holy place was supposed to make was calm and eased, but this place did not do so in the slightest for him.

Rubbing his eye with a yawn William got himself prepared and walked along to find the others. There was still so much that was needed for him to do, he still needed to get stronger and become more useful to the others, but there was so much things that got in the way of that for him.

The biggest obstacle for him was the mere childish body. Though he managed to get out some flames, it was still too much of a fatigue for him to do so. The fatigue cost was fading, but at a slow rate, and they did not have much time, the demon attack proved this. Maybe if he was stronger that girl wouldn't have lost her life. William groaned and shook his head before walking into the sanctuary and raised an eyebrow at the two in there "Ah...good morning" Wiliam said.

While sleeping in a Abbey was definitely unexpected, it was still remotely pleasant. So when morning had come, Allen was able to get himself up with little trouble at all. Plenty of things from yesterday were still on his mind, but he decided that it would be better if went ahead and found everyone else before doing something angel related.

He made his way through the halls of the abbey and eventually ended up in the sanctuary, not too long after some heterochromic guy had arrived. Other than himself and the other guy, there were three other people there as well. Since it seemed like they were waiting for some other people to arrive, Allen choose to remain quiet as he waited.

Sam rose from his bed sluggishly, tired from not being able to properly sleep. There were too many things going on in his mind for him to sleep properly. With a stretch and a yawn, he made his way out of the room and back to the room Hana and the baby were in. When he stepped, he noticed that she wasn't there. It was just him and the boy inside. He looked down at the dark-skinned, red-haired kid on the bed. The dark-haired haired man sighed as he pulled up a chair to sit next to him.

"Hey, there." He started awkwardly, not sure of what else to do or say. As hard as the things he had to deal with before, he felt that this was to most difficult thing he had to deal with yet. "Umm..." What was the point in talking to a baby? He couldn't understand a lick of what was coming out of his mouth. Maybe it was just his way of coping with the whole situation. "I'm your dad," He finally started. "I don't really know what else to say other than I'm sorry for that. I can't exactly claim I'm the best guy to be someone else's father. See, I didn't have a good relationship with my old man, which might ruin our own. Well, if we get to that point..." His voiced trailed off.

At one point in time, he would've gladly welcomed death as it slowly dragged him off. But now, with Hana and Reuben in the picture, things have changed drastically. "Well, I guess I can be grateful that you were born. You and your mom give me a reason to live now." It felt so awkward calling Hana a 'mom', but that's what she was now. "I'm just afraid I'll turn out like my dad, and that's something I don't want. I want to give you all of the love and the care that you need. I want to watch you grow up with my own two eyes. I want to guide you and help you live your live. I want to, I'm just not sure if I can. Being the Angel of Destruction doesn't exactly help that either."

He held his hand over the boy, unsure of what to do. After just holding it over him, he pulled it back and looked at his own calloused hand. "I can destroy buildings in a single punch, and I can't even manage to even touch my own son." Sam muttered dejectedly. "How pathetic..." He clenched his hand into a tight fist, frustrated at himself. "And here I am, sitting and talking to a baby who doesn't understand a single word of all of this. Well," the tired man rose up out of the chair. "If we meet again, we can talk about it then. If." After taking one last look at his kid, he left the room and headed to where the others would most likely be gathered up.

"How pathetic," the familiar voice snarked. "Your uncertainty is appalling on every level."

"Oh yeah ? And what exactly do you know about any of this ?"

"You think you're going to have to go through all of this alone, as if you're the only one who's unsure of all of this. But don't you think that's a bit selfish ? After all, there is someone else who I am sure is just as uncertain as you are." Sam didn't answer that at all, he just silently kept on walking. "All I'm saying is that you shouldn't be brooding over this."

Tiia woke up with a yawn and gave herself time to realize she was at an abbey in Brazil. It both sounded strange and sounded completely normal for her. The angel part hooked onto it however was not a normality. And while she was quickly accepting of the idea of it, she was still not completely settled with the idea.

When she got up and moving, she noticed everyone seemed to be gathering around the same area. But everyone seemed rather down, at least to her, so she put on a smile and spoke, "Good morning everyone. I hope everyone slept well."

    "Are you always like this?"

Tiia quickly turned to see Sven just coming out of the other room and looking at her with an annoyed expression. She crossed her arms and replied, "What would you rather me wake up and say I hope you all slept horribly?"

"Ugh I am not doing this right now." Sven spoke as he pulled up the hood of his sweatshirt to cover his face and Tiia let out a confused noise before holding her head, "You started it."

Tiia took a couple steps away from the group to compose herself before she turned back with a polite smile and refusing to say anything else, which made Sven let out an irritated grunt as he pulled on the string to tighten the hood and make it harder to see his face.

It was a rather nice sleep he had been in. Peaceful, he wouldn't call it, but nevertheless, it was quite the rejuvenating one at that. Waking up to the sound of Ms. Tiia's voice, Sal brought himself up and out of bed to get ready for the days events. Stretching a bit he saw Sven get up as well, albeit he seemed to be rather peeved. It was a shame that the man had a short temper, but diversity in personalities made a group all the more whole. Walking out to follow Sven, he heard the two bicker about something or another, as if they were two siblings. At the end of it all Sal decided to chime in as well.
"Good morning to the both of you as well."

Looking over towards the both of them he said, "now now you two, you can't be constantly annoyed by each other if you're going to be expected to work together against the forces of hell." If only this were true among everyone of the group. He could name a couple of people who were constantly annoyed by the presence of others. Oh well. "Now then," clapping his hand together Sal said, "we should get going to the sanctuary area to meet up with the rest of the people."

"Alrighty then." Out of seemingly nowhere, the white haired tennis maniac had walked in and started his jovial morning march towards the area of congregation. Smiling at the boy's unending enthusiasm Sal walked forward to the sanctuary as well.

She sat there in the pew with her head lowered. There was a lot to process and not much time left; not much time at all. The had less than three weeks to go. Three weeks and this would all be over for either the better or the worse. They had to succeed, somehow.

    Morning.

She looked up to see Richard walk in. Hana forced a smile on her face. Morning, she greeted solemnly.

I take it you didn't have that great of a night's rest?

You could say that, she sighed.

He looked to the door and her eyes followed. The scratching continued on the roof. So, what's out there?

Her eyes stayed locked on the ceiling for a long moment before returning her gaze to Richard. I'm not sure, but it's not good.

Footsteps sounded and the others started to file in. First was Will, whom she met very briefly on the Falkland Islands. He greeted them and she returned it with a smile. He was followed by some boy she didn't recognize, obviously one of the new recruits. Then Sam. Then Sal with two other new faces. There were so many new faces and one she couldn't bear to look at. Leon walked in with the others and a new found sense of despair washed over her. Ariel lost Uriel, again. Hana rose to her feet and pressed her lips together. Her blue eyes flicked to the statue of the Virgin Mary praying and then back to the others.

Um, I know a lot of you are wondering what is going on outside and I'm not exactly sure. There was something important that I needed to share with everyone and couldn't risk doing so over the phone. My name is Hana -- Xathanael -- to those of you that do not know me. Things have been hard for everyone, I know. They have only been getting worse as time went on and will just continue to get worse. We have less than three weeks until the Winter Solstice. It's December and we're running out of time. We've lost a lot of people already which is painful and taxing, but I still believe we can do it. Right now, we have -- where's Adam? She stopped mid - sentence and looked around. There was a face missing that she had not been informed of. Joslyn didn't say anything about Adam dying.

Will stepped in. ...he left with that Alistair character...whether he was kidnapped or left on his free will is unknown, but from what I heard the chances are highly in the latter's favor.

Hana took a deep breath and swallowed forcefully. Of course. She nodded at the weirdly - aged boy and continued. Right then, anyway; we have an advantage. I don't know what kind of creatures are lurking about outside the walls of the church, but I do know what. Beneath us, like waaaaay down deep beneath us, rests the prison of the beast Leviathan. The Dark Angels want access to it. The monster is a guaranteed victory should they get to him. No one has ever been able to defeat Leviathan. Michael was barely able to detain him long enough for Jehoel to make the ultimate barrier around him. Unfortunately, with Jehoel's death, the prison has been weakening -- not enough to prevent Jun Tae from dying, but a great deal none the less. In time, it will fall apart completely. I have no idea how long exactly, but it will be soon. If you all feel, rather than listen, you will be able to sense it as well. This land is losing it's strength, that's why the demons outside these walls are able to make contact with the building in the first place.

She stepped out of the pew and moved to the spot on the floor where the trapdoor would appear if ruins were drawn on it. We need new barriers. I can only do so much on my own. I know a lot of you are still extremely inexperienced or have yet to receive any sort of training, but I need everyone's help. We need to strengthen the barrier to buy us more time. If everyone could pair up, those that relatively know what they are doing with those that have no clue, it would help. It's easiest if you just think about something important, something worth protecting -- you would do anything and everything for that something or someone. Those thoughts are what makes the barriers the strongest.

Her eyes went from face to face and she nodded. Taking a deep breath, she shut her eyes. Repeat after me while thinking those thoughts. Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est.1 She just needed to have faith. They could do this. There was a possibility they could still win. Hana repeated it over and over again. She could feel Luria burning against her calve. It was working. The barrier was only a temporary fix, but it would help.

Sal had heard what Hana had said about the grand beast known as Leviathan being located here, and that's why there were the forces of hell abound. They apparently had to band together and have the experienced people go with the inexperienced people to...say a prayer? Perhaps they just needed some sort of direction as to what to do about it. As such, Sal walked himself over to the newcomer "sibling" duo of Ms. Tiia and Sven."Well now, the both of you heard the instructions given. The only advice I could really give you is that self-confidence and faith is probably, and most fittingly, the most important thing when it comes to using any form of angel power. You're going to have to truly believe that this is going to work in order for it to take the largest and most noticeable affect, and yes, believing in something dear to you will draw out the strongest resolve, helping to create the best affect possible. With that out of the way, let's get to praying." With that Sal closed his eyes and thought long and hard about what he truly wanted to protect, or just what he loved the most. After a bit, he smirked at the thought. Sure, it was broad, but it was what had wanted to protect the most out of all of these. With that, he said " ater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

Brandon hadn't been entirely sure of the entire situation that was going on. Though, he did realize the urgency that came along with this being Rivaille's resting place. That being that this was the spot of the Secret Boss hinted at the entire game and despite all their efforts was going to be released anyway because plot. Man that was still a mouthful. Nevertheless, Brandon knew that he was supposed to do some major praying stuff. And he was also supposed to help any of the newcomers that were coming along. Seeing as Brandon saw himself as a rather seasoned veteran fallen angel, he took it upon himself to help out any newcomer who seemed to be lost...or any newcomer in general really seeing as he had no idea what these people's expressions were since no one had posted in response yet. As such, Brandon walked over to the eyepatch newcomer, Julius, and said "you heard the lady. Just go and give it your all in believing in this prayer barrier!" With that, Brandon thought back to everyone and everything. He held probably everyone here as dear to him, and was putting all of his faith into this barrier, solely so he could protect everyone from all the dangers. "Ater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

Richard had gotten his answer, and Maalik's suspicions were confirmed. So the entire world was to be threatened by one being who they just happened to be standing on? Well that seemed to be a bit important. Richard didn't entirely know the nature of the seal that was restraining the beast, nor did he know what manner of dark forces were coming to attack them. And apparently all he had to do was pray? Hm, as much of a menial task as that seemed, and as easy as it seemed to be for others to take his place, he knew that even that was being too lazy. Thinking about what seemed most important to him, the choice was clearly easy. He started praying hard, to finally do at least something to act like the guardian he was meant to be. "Ater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

In the end he was indeed right to believe this place held a bad omen. He did not know much about religion, but just from what Hana had told him he knew the severity of Leviathan's release and he knew that time was going to be a resource they just did not have. With a sigh he just took a step in and spoke to in form Hana about the status of the one named Adam and listened to whatever was left.

Once the discussion was finished, William closed his eyes and sighed "something I want to protect" William said. It was a hard thing to think about, for him he was merely normal, his thoughts and desires would not be as strong as the others, so he had to delve deeper into his mind.

His memories played back the scene at the Falkland Island and he thought back to the girl that was killed. He did not want the others to end up like that, he didn't want anybody to end up like that. That was the closest thing that he could use to strengthen his determination "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est." William said, saying the prayer.

The current situation at hand was definitely a shocking one. Not a single thing that Hana had told them leaded to any good thoughts in Logan's mind. How could it, the barrier on the most important thing the dark angels needed was weakening. Definitely wasn't something to joke around with. Not too long after that, they were told to pair up and say a prayer. It seemed that together they could strengthen it.

Seeing as how the three new people already had partners, Logan had decided to pair up with Kai. Now that that was taken care of, he closed his eyes and started to think about something dear to him that he wanted to protect. Despite his general attitude to select people, he had something dear that he wanted to protect. Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est.."

Aside from learning that the red haired girl's name was Hana, Allen was pretty much lost with everything she said. Normally he would've caught on pretty quickly, but this isn't normal. This is angel related business, so what he figured was that Leviathan getting free was a bad thing for them and the world. Sure that was obvious considering how she was speaking, but he's still new to this whole angel business.

At the mention of pairing up Allen found himself partnered up with the boy he'd first talked to about all this. He gave him a quick nod before thinking of what he held dear. Clearly he family and friends were on his mind, but there were some other things he thought about as well. "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

The first thing Tiia did after she was spoken to by Sal was distance herself from Sven to keep him out of her space. It was just his energy that seriously bothered her and she didn't want that to distract her from what she was now being asked to do. Tiia clasped her hands together and tried to think of something, anything worth protecting.

She had a lot of difficulty, but she finally managed to think of something that helped her, and she found it rather cheesy too. But after she thought of what she wished to protect she spoke, "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

Sven didn't take too long thinking of something to protect. He immediately put his thoughts towards his family. He wanted them to be safe, no matter what. That was all he ever wanted, and he couldn't think of anything more perfect. He drew a breath before he spoke, "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

Lauren stood around a bit confused as everyone broke off into prayer. She was having a difficult time with this because she really couldn't think of anything worth protecting. And she felt a nervousness coming from the back of her head that wasn't her own feelings. She knew, she wasn't nervous at all.

    Just think of something dumbass.

Lauren looked around for a moment before she heard Alice silently mumbling the prayer. Lauren knew Alice clearly found something, but Lauren was still completely lost. She decided at that moment to think about Alice, and about her younger siblings. Even her parents who she couldn't really stand.

    "Pater, da miri, qe conanob-"

Lauren felt her voice cut off immediately, then she started again without really thinking about it, "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

Protection... this is making me laugh. What can a destructive spirit protect.

Lauren slowly sat herself down afterwards holding her head. Alice noticed almost immediately after and moved towards her to comfort her.

    DAY: 71 - 4/4 | DATE: November 2nd, 2013 [Monday] | LOCATION: Abbey/Church in Rio de Janeiro

As everyone gathered into the main sanctuary of the church, there were obvious signs that there was someone, or something, coming. They were there for what was locked away deep underneath this church. A monster that, if released, would guarantee their victory. There was no way they could let that happen.

After Hana instructed them to pray while thinking of something that they value most, the image came all to quickly. He closed his eyes as memories of Hana flooded his mind. He took a sharp breath before uttering the prayer. "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

When Hana instructed everyone to try to pair off and pray, she found her way to Vincent. "Come on, l-let's do as she a-asked."

"Right." Standing next to each other, they clasped their hands together and tried to think of what it was that they wanted to protect so dearly. It took the girl a while to find something before settling on the one thing she really had in this world: Her friends. The people that have come along on this journey that she has come to know and love. They had already lost a great deal of them, so now, with this prayer, she had hoped that wouldn't happen anymore.

"Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

She hadn't really gotten that much time to get to know these people. It had been four days, give or take, since she joined up with these people. During those four days, she didn't really talk much except for when they recruited one of the people from Chile. On top of that, she had little to no experience regarding any of this. Though, thinking of what you hold dear and praying didn't seem too hard, she wasn't sure how much help she would be. She looked around as other people paired off, wondering what to do.

"I CAN HELP YOU IF YOU WANT" A familiar voice broke through the uncertainty. The young woman turned to meet the golden-eyed gaze of the source.

"Oh, Leon," she started. "Uh, yeah, I'd like that a lot, thanks."

"SURE," he sighed. After that, they each clasped their own hands together and closed their eyes. Immediately, she thought of the family and friends she had back at home. Protecting them was the whole reason of her being there. They were the most important thing to her, so it wasn't too difficult to get it in her mind.

After thinking of them, she uttered the prayer alongside Leon. "Pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est."

"PATER, DA MIHI, QUI CONANTUR, UT SPIRITUS ET TUTELA CONTRA ME. UT TEGERE SIM DEFENSUS EST."

Prayer? That's cute. Are we going to start singing too?

    Shut it.

I don't see you or wifey praying. So you two must be with me on this.

Pray? With what faith? Henrik's eyes met with Iris's for a moment as thought back to everything they had already been through. With all that he knew now, why would he put his faith in some higher power to protect them? As much as he hated Araquiel, the angel had done the best to be honest with him no matter how cold or brutal were the truths he spoke. Both Soren and Anna were out of their reach and no higher power had been there to stop their abduction or bring them back from perdition. Even if his children did survive what was to come Araquiel was quick to remind him that they were nephilim who had grown up in Hell. Whether they grew up good or not, Heaven would only see them as threats needing to be exterminated. He couldn't bring himself to care about the damage Araquiel's constant possessions and the mist had done to his body, only the thought that his children would be on the losing side of the conflict no matter who won.

Once more Henrik looked over at his wife. Even if he hated both sides for dragging his family into this mess, there was still one person he had yet to lose. If muttering some damn prayer meant improving their chances to keep them--to keep her--alive, then he had no other choice than to bring himself to do it.

As soon as everyone had prayed for a good while, they soon stopped. With everyone thoroughly prayed out, they had all decided it was time to get to sleep, and hope that Leviathan's barrier would hold the beast in its cage. Not to mention that it would mostly keep the creatures of hell out for another night, buying them just a bit more time. So, the group decided to go to their beds for a good nights rest. Sal was quite pleased with the extreme display of cooperation everyone displayed today. Having everyone work together, even if it was something as simple as just saying a prayer, showed that they could actually, as a whole, do something together. Sal had walked himself into his bed at around the same time as everyone else and soon fell asleep there, with Brandon finding a bed for himself to sleep in, awaiting what their next task for tomorrow was going to be.

Richard, however, did not go to bed with everyone else. In fact, he more or less just stood there as everyone went back to the abbey to get some sleep. Thinking that sure, the barrier was a good start, it was obviously not good enough at all. There was going to need to be more done if they were going to actually stop whatever was going to be attacking them here at the church. He didn't exactly know, though, what else he could be doing here. Personally, Richard wasn't even sure why he was trying to think of what he should do. It didn't feel like Maalik's presence on him, like the anger thing was, and he still didn't feel any more motivated then he had been earlier in the day. Maybe praying for a goal he had in mind actually made him think about the entire situation. Whatever. Eventually Richard brought himself to go to the abbey and laid down in the bed he had the previous night. Richard simply muttered, "pater, da mihi, qui conantur, ut spiritus et tutela contra me. Ut tegere sim defensus est," under his breath until he finally fell asleep.

It took a considerable amount of time for them to finish strengthening the barrier. By the time they had finished, night had already fallen. They had just bought themselves some time, but it definitely wouldn't last forever. How much time was left, he couldn't really say, but they had to end this quickly. Hopefully there wouldn't be a need to face off with the monster lurking underground, but they couldn't say for sure if it would happen. Right now, all they could do was continue searching for more angels and train.

He saw that a few people, like Alejandra, Joslyn, and Vincent were all going to their beds now. It would be a good idea to catch some shut eye. Although, he wavered on whether or not to try and sleep in the room with the baby or sleep with the others. He kept going back and forth between the two ideas, but he just couldn't make up his mind. After mulling it over and seeing the others sleeping already, he decided to go to the room where the baby was.

Shutting the door behind him, he was once again face to face with his own son. He really couldn't get used to the fact that he had a son now. Once again, he took the nearby chair and plopped himself down into it, resting his arms over the chair's back.

"Man, what am I gonna do? I have no idea what to do next," he complained. "You're lucky, you don't have to worry about any of this." Watching the red-haired baby on the bed, he rested his head on his arms, fatigue slowly setting in. "I wonder if you'll even remember me..." He managed through a yawn. His eyes shut as he drifted off to sleep on the chair.

When everyone had finished praying there were no signs of it working, not that he would know what a sign would look at since he hasn't even seen the barrier, let alone Leviathan. Since it was getting late Logan headed back towards the Abbey along with the others. Maybe they would find out if their prayer was successful or not tomorrow. Well there was only one way to find out so he get into the bed and went to sleep.

Day 2 of being an angel, very confusing. The prayers had ended and everyone was heading back to the abbey to get some sleep. While he said nothing on the walk back, he made sure to keep a mental note on some of the things incase an answer came up later. As he approached the bed, he climbed in it and went to sleep.

And so all William could do was merely hope that this prayer had managed to do the charm and at least strengthen the barrier somewhat. He was nervous, but he needed to remain strong. For now worrying would do them no good. With a yawn William stretched his arms before walking off towards a bed and fell fast asleep.

Panting and wiping away the sweat that ran down his brow, Alistair straightened up and let out a loud and relaxed sigh "Well then that should be enough" Alistair said walking off from his new training spot over towards his room where he would rest. Killing off demons hardly seemed like any good and merely walking off into the basement only meant dealing with Regulus. Quite pleased with his progress, Alistair rested on his bed and fell asleep.

Once the praying was done Henrik and Iris left to head to bed. As his wife got herself situated Henrik turned to look over his shoulder, feeling as if someone was watching them. Nothing. When he turned around the bed he had just been standing next to, along with Iris, had vanished. In its place now stood an empty crib. Henrik rubbed his eyes and called out mentally to Araquiel to stop playing games. No response came from the angel. This must have been some kind of sick joke. Henrik blinked trying to will the apparition to leave his sight but when he opened his eyes the nightmare only worsened. Blood began to drip down its sides.

Henrik fell to his knees, feeling as if he had just lost most of his blood. His head was spinning and as he looked up from the floor, the bed had returned with Iris kneeling by his side speaking to him in an attempt to snap him out of his daze. Henrik took a deep breath and nodded slowly at Iris as he lacked the concentration to tell her he was alright. Henrik eyed his hands, the ashen color of his damaged skin had begun to spread. Once he caught his breath he took a moment to reassure Iris that he was not doing as badly as she feared but only failed to convince her. After speaking to her about what had just happened, the two soon fell asleep.
