Tyson turned to different radio stations, but the all were talking about the same thing, the plane crash. It wasn't until one of the hosts was about to air the air traffic patrol recording did he stop flipping thru the station. He thought this may be interesting."He risessss. . ." Was what the recording said.
Tyson was flooded with a overwhelming sense of dread. It felt like he was having a panic attack. He could barely breath. He had to pull the car the over, it was that bad. "What is happening? Is this....any of this connected to my dreams? What the hell?!" Tyson asked himself.
After a while Tyson got his bearings and continued on to work. When he got to the station, changed and all that good stuff, the chief approached him. "Malone! Your on security! There's some sort of Medieval fair in town. and your doing guard duty." the chief barked. Tyson left and got in his patrol car. "Great, guarding a port-a-potty at a fair of over weight sweaty guys dressed as elves or whatever they dress as." Tyson said has started the car up and headed out.

Morning classes were over, and now Hay Sun was in one of the courtyards of the school, eating her lunch with her friends. She decided that she wouldn't worry about any of that weird angel shit for the day. Then again, it was hard when she thought that she kept hearing her friends call her 'Uriel' or 'Puriel'.

The figured something was up at home, and tried asking her about it, but she simply told them that she was busy learning a new subject, that's all. It wasn't like that was a lie, so they bought it, to Hay Sun's relief. She had been spending so little time with her friends that they pretty much listened to anything she said, any time she said it. Much to her dismay, Levi had joined them and insisted on sitting next to her under the tree where they laid out their thick cloth to eat on.

Had anymore dreams lately?❞ Levi asked her from nowhere, and when all the attention fell on her, Hay Sun glared at Levi and he shrunk back slightly.

Dreams?❞ Phoebe questioned in her sweet, youthful voice, and Hay Sun sighed. She was going to have to tell them eventually? No . . . She didn't have to tell them, but maybe apart of her wanted to.

Sometimes, it felt like she was going to disappear and never come back, and they, her precious friends, would never know why. That made her sad. It would make them sad. And them being sad pissed her off because they were her friends.

    Well . . .

    What a bother.
He woke up, groggily surveying his surroundings. The TV was still on, he was still on the couch, and his dinner from last night was still unfinished. He rubbed his head trying to recall the dream he had that night. It had something to do with being a Japanese Soldier in World War II stationed on some island or something. He was holding a gun in it and for some reason felt the need to continue fighting to the death. Like protecting the island was his sole purpose in life and that he should be willing to die for it. And that's exactly what ended up happening. He had died quite swiftly and the dream had ended. He was irritated with the dreams because he was getting fed up with dying constantly.
Regardless he lazily grabbed the remote and started flipping through the channels again. There wasn't anything to really do today, because most of his friends who he practiced with were doing something else, places were closed on sundays, and no tournaments of any sort were this week at all. Overall it was probably going to be a really slow week. He stopped on a new broadcast station, which was rarity in itself, and saw something that was interesting to say the least. Apparently the American city of New York was attacked via a Terrorist plane crash...again, and as a result people were tightening air security. He was slightly upset by the news because one of his friends was in America at the moment and probably wasn't coming back anytime soon. In tired frustration he hit his remote and then he turned around to notice out of nowhere his fireplace was lit a fire. "What the...oh yeah."
As he often forgot his remote was linked up to the electric fire place and he constantly hit the ignite button by accident which left him confused for a few seconds every now and then. He picked it up and turned the fire off. Well today was probably going to remain uninteresting and mundane, but he was alright with that. He simply got up and pulled out some frozen waffles to warm up for his breakfast.

Danel approached the hospital, his wings glamoured behind his back. He didn't understand why a man as wealthy as Azrael even bothered to work in a hospital when he had his fancy corporate office for the medical supplies company. He shrugged--to each their own. Danel strolled easily through the hospital, unnoticed. He drew little attention in his usual wear. A person could get in pretty much anywhere if they dressed well. Danel walked up to a reception desk and tapped lightly on the counter. A woman in blue scrubs looked up at him and smiled. "Gabh mo leithscéal. Tá coinne agam le Dochtúir Grey." he told her in a perfect Irish dialect.

    "D'ainm?" she asked questioningly.
    "Danel," he replied.
"Amháin faoi láthair le do thoil." she responded before picking up a phone and pressing one of the extension buttons. She spoke quickly into the phone and Danel tuned it out until she hung it up the phone and motioned for him to take a seat. "Beidh Dochtúir Grey bheith leat i díreach cúpla nóiméad. Bhí sé i lár an oibríocht."
He nodded and smiled politely at her before spinning on his heel and moving to a vacant seat in the waiting room.

    Samuel Riviera
    DAY: 8 - 2/5 | DATE: September 29, 2013, Sunday | LOCATION: Mexican Village

Surprisingly, Samuel didn't have a dream as he slept. It was odd... He was so used to having those dreams where he somehow ended up dying, but there was no dream that night. It was strange. Whatever, at any rate, he needed to get some new clothes, these clothes that he jacked were getting soaked with sweat and starting to smell. He could do with the pair of jeans he was wearing right now, but he had to get a new shirt somehow. He started up the car he stole and drove off to look for people to take a shirt from. Or if he was lucky enough, he could find some place where no one was in and steal a shirt from there. He definitely couldn't leave the shirt behind though. Sam didn't want to leave any traces of himself for the police to follow.

He drove around the quaint little village, looking for men with shirts that could probably fit him. There was a church that he saw as he drove around.
Hmm... Maybe I can find someone in the church to steal from... Hah... Church. It didn't matter to him if the guy he stole from was the most religious guy in the entire town, he just needed the shirt off of his back. He stopped the car close to the church and pulled the brim of his hat way down low. Just on the off chance someone might recognize him. And now we play the waiting game...

SCHOOL THIS TIME. SOME PLACE DIFFERENT. IT REALLY DIDN'T MATTER THE LOCATION, HOWEVER. SHE WAS SITTING WITH FRIENDS ON LUNCH BREAK. NOTHING HE COULDN'T HANDLE. HE APPROACHED HER, GLIDING ACROSS THE LAWN OF THE PRIVATE SCHOOL. NO ONE SEEMED TO NOTICE HIS PRESENCE, BUT THAT WAS TO BE EXPECTED. WHEN HE WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF HER BLANKET, THE AIR AROUND HIM SHIMMERED AND HIS GLAMOUR FADED. THE PEOPLE SITTING BESIDE HER STOPPED TALKING, THEIR MOUTHS FROZE HALF OPEN. THERE WAS A SMILE ON HIS FACE AS HE KNELT IN FRONT OF URIEL AND EXTENDED A HAND TO HER, PULLING HER TO HER FEET.

HIS APPEARANCE SHIFTED BACK AND FORTH--SHIMMERING AND FADING IN AND OUT. IT TOOK NO EFFORT AT ALL TO USE THIS GUISE THAT CONCEALED HIS IDENTITY. IT WAS BEST FOR EVERYONE IF HIS PRESENCE REMAINED A SECRET. SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE HE HAD COME TO VISIT IN THIS STATE OF EMERGENCY, AND FOR GOOD MEASURE. URIEL WOULD SAY NOTHING ABOUT HIM, EVEN NOW IN THIS NEW FOR--THIS 'HAY SUN.'

"I HAVE COME FOR YOU." HE TOLD HER, HIS VOICE DEEP AND MELODIC. WHETHER OR NOT SHE CHOSE TO GO WITH, WAS ANOTHER MATTER. HE WOULDN'T FORCE HER. URIEL ALWAYS HAD A TEMPER ON HER--SUCH A FEISTY ONE.

Shane soon awoken in the room he'd gotten and sighed. Another night in a different place, if he kept this up then it would be a short trip. Mental note: Stop finding different places to stay at. That would be the first thing that he would try to accomplish today. In the mean time however he would get ready for the day. So he grabbed himself a change of clothes and headed towards the shower.

As much as he wanted to wear a hoodie like he did most day, Mexico seemed like a bad place to do that. So instead he went with something simple, a shirt with some jeans. He didn't bother to turn on the tv. It wasn't like he was planning on staying inside for long. Instead he walked out the door and left the motel.

From the looks of it most people were at church, made sense considering what day it was. Maybe he should just walk in, he wasn't the most religious man that you'd ever meet but he was religious enough head to church every now and then. There was nothing to lose or to gain by going, well there was then option of clearing whatever was on his chest. He contemplated it for a few more second before deciding to head into the nearest church that he could find.

Another operation had come and gone, but unlike the others this one was doomed to fail. Nobody would mourn for this man and what he asked for was nothing but impossible. Alistair did what he could but in the end he was merely playing with what would be a corpse in a second. All the money the man flaunted proved nothing and soon enough the time came and Alistair merely pronounced the man's death. No sort of emotion escaped his voice as he spoke and with his cold calm yellow eyes he stared as the body was whisked away. He felt no form of distress, but he strangely felt a form of satisfaction. Whether the life lived or died, the feeling never changed.

Soon enough Alistair walked out of the operating room and took off his outfit, returning to the white prim suit he usually walked around into. His next surgery was far from now and for now he would rest. As he entered his own office, Alistair was suddenly stopped by the message of the secretary and before he knew it he was off again. He knew he had no meetings and normally he would have been told in advance. Regardless of this fact, Alistair chose to check it out and the moment he reached the waiting room he realized just where this surprise meeting came from.

Upon seeing the angel before him, a smirk arose across his face as he closed his eyes and walked up to him. Stopping before him, Alistair opened his eyes and stared over at the angel. "Well its good to see you again....shall we discuss this in my office?" Alistair said calmly.

Cassandra was not pissed off at the fact that Lillian had picked her up and carried her away from the scene because she was in the middle of an attack. Everyone really didn't take anything from it, but Cassandra still broke down in a very public place. What pissed her off was that Lillian carried her into a chapel.
Of course... take me here, of all the places you could have taken me. I mean, if you had done this under different past circumstances I would have been okay with it but...
Cassandra was sitting in a pew, not looking at anything other than her feet. She listened to the people in the church, praying loud prayers, but other then that there was nothing else she was doing. Lillian sat next to her and Cassandra could almost feel her being stared at. She took a deep breath before speaking to Lillian,
"I don't want to be here."
"Look I know, I don't want to be here either, I would much rather be in New Jersey with my-"
"No not that... I don't want to be here. here."
    "As... in... the... church?"
"No I mean the traveling circus." Cassandra replied in a very sarcastic voice. She looked up at Lillian quickly before her eyes wandered, glancing at the stain-glass windows.
"Look, I get it, you don't like churches. Big deal. But in times li-"
"I don't mind churches... I just don't like the faith... so damn focused on death. Who is getting to heaven, and who is getting to hell. What age is a tragic death and what age is just another death... how sins play in and how sinners will go to hell."
Cassandra kicked her leg against the pew in front of her and she ignored the evil look she got as she whispered to Lillian, "Everything is a goddamn sin. If those are the people going to hell, heaven must be a boring place."
"Wow, you have no shame talking about this in a house of God."
    "Why would I have shame?"
"Well the catholic faith is totally focused on the heaven vs hell scenario. Good vs Evil, God vs Devil."
    "So much war..."
"War doesn't sound like the right word fo-"
"It is though, just one long fictional tale about war."
    "Fictional tale?"
Cassandra looked around and luckily it was loud enough in the church for her to whisper this soft enough that only Lillian could hear, "I can believe in angels and demons, in a constant battle over right and wrong... but I just can't bring myself to believe in God and Satan... pure evil and pure good. If God is so good, why do events like this occur. And if there is a Devil... what stops him from not doing worse."
    "Because both balance out e-"
"Bullshit. The almighty God and heavenly king, the one who created our world and what lives on it can't stop a plane from crashing into a city?" She knew at this point her voice was loud.
"Well what if he didn't want to, what if God doesn't wish to interfere with the natural course of life and death?"
"Then isn't god a selfish asshole."
Cassandra stood up to walk out and saw a couple of people in the surrounding pews staring at her. She groaned loudly at all of them and looked at Lillian saying, "This is what could drive me to drink." then she walked as close to the door as she could to get some air.

Salgiel woke with a jump, his heart racing. Drawings that had been on the bed flew into the air. He breathed fast while his eyes were wide.

There is something evil lurking around…
It is also the same feeling that I got that was in the direction of Mexico City.
Could this be another fallen angel?
If so, he has bad karma written all over him…

The drawings were gathered and rolled up rapidly, then stuffed into the tube. Many of them were of dark figures and evil things.

Dante hurried to get ready and throw his pants on, almost forgetting to zip up the zipper, and started to stumble out the door. Of course, not forgetting the tube of drawings and his fedora in the room. With a hurried manner, he explained to the motel keeper that he would pay later. Without given much of an option, the keeper accepted.

The black-haired one’s legs almost seemed as if they were going to trip themselves, and he did look a little bit of a mess because he had no shirt on. It was a good thing that the bar was not too far off because dropping the drawings off with Fog would have been difficult otherwise. His stress seemed to seep into the horse as well and it also became uneasy with him.

“Don’t worry boy, it may just be a false alarm.”

    Fog snorted at him.

    “I’ll be back later.”

That accursed feeling was coming from the direction of the church. With no hesitation, the angel made his way there, walking fast and taking big strides. As he rounded a corner he saw a very shady looking male in the vicinity of the church. (He clearly didn’t see the other man walk into the church.) His heart started taking harder beats and his head got hot. Big breaths calmed down his heart, and he started going towards the man.

And now we play the game of chase…

Danel jumped to his feet, resting his hands behind his head. He followed Alistair, smiling. "After you, sir." he retorted jokingly. Danel followed him to his office and took a seat in one of the chairs across from his desk. The light shimmered and his wings appeared behind his back as if they were never gone. "So, what say you?"

While Hana was kneeling between the pews and praying, the compass began to burn against her chest. She lifted her head slightly and pulled her hands apart, lifting the device out of the front of her dress. The needle was pointing towards her and she craned her neck around to the back of the church where the doors to the sanctuary resided. First there was nothing, and then a man walked in. He was white, like herself, and clearly not from the area. Was he traveling? The needle flicked between him and the door. Was there something else going on? She rose to her feet and sat back down in the pew. There was no way she could just walk out in the middle of the sermon, that would be disrespectful. The compass kept burning and she slid to the end, making room for other people to sit with her. Her hope was that he would join her in the pew and she could pull him aside afterwards.

The fact that the needle was bouncing around so drastically was putting her on edge. Hana gripped the rosary tightly, the beads leaving prints on her skin. It sounded like the service was almost done and she prayed for it to end faster. This was important, not that the heavenly Father wasn't, but this was a little more urgent than that.

Lillian had stayed in her pew as Cassandra stood near the doorway. She kept peaking outside for the sake of curiosity, but hated it every time she did. There was always something she didn't want to see. A crying family, the smoke in the air from burning buildings, either way she couldn't handle it, it reminded her too much of the past. At the same time, she couldn't help but look back.
Cassandra listened as the priest went and stood up and started prayers. He did not formally start off a mass, it was more of a time of prayer. She understood it was because the city was supposed to be under a lockdown, but she knew people couldn't live without their holy day, especially on a day like today.
She closed her eyes and listened to the man attempt to bring their spirits to God, but it wasn't working for her, so she quickly gave up, and rudely pulled out her phone to answer texts from people who were freaking out over her safety. She gave them all quickly replies and "thank you for your thoughts" then turned over to Google and looked up the event. There was a hashtag going out on twitter called #HeRises based on the words the hijacker had said. Cassandra quickly turned it off and put her phone down covering her face. She was in the middle of a freakout and there was nothing she could do about it.

Having led Danel to his own office and having took a seat across the angel, Alistair rested his elbow on the handle of the chair and rested his cheek on his fist as he listened to Danel's words. Hearing what he said, Alistair merely closed his eyes and let out a chuckle "Heh ts been amusing ever since you've crashed through my doors and spoke to me about being Azreal...I've never doubted your words and lately I've been realizing how much the old Azreal must have been annoyed" Alistair said opening his eyes "A life without a true end...the cycle of rebirth...he hates it...death is the ultimate end of life...it goes against him..." Alistair said before letting out another chuckle "...or so I believe" Alistair said.

Soon enough Alistair's eyes drifted over to Danel and his eyes closed as he chuckled once more "But I digress...ignoring the babbling...just what does Lucifer wish from an ignorant mortal such as myself? for what purpose does the former angel of death serve?" Alistair said. He had awaited this moment for quite the while and he hoped the angel before him wouldn't repeat what he did and just disappear randomly.

About half an hour passed, and all of her friends were still listening to her talk about her strange dreams. She couldn't understand what was so damned interesting about them, and wouldn't stop silently cursing Levi for even bringing the subject up. Why was he even here, anyway? He fit into their little group perfectly, and it was annoying.

The intensity of their listening was a little embarrassing, causing her to stumble over a word or two, here and there. Every now and again, they would throw in a word or something that told Hay Sun they were still very interested.

It had been slow and smooth, but the area around the courtyard was slowly becoming distorted and shimmering, like a mirage. Hay Sun raised an eyebrow, and then looked to her friends to ask if they had noticed it too, only to see that their faces were frozen. All frozen, all looking at her. It was kind of creepy, she thought to herself as she wave her hand in front of their faces.

A shadow fell over her and she looked up to see a figure — the figure, beautiful, shadowy, ethereal, wings and all — standing over her. She could barely make out his features, and while all of her senses screamed KILL KILL KILL, Hay Sun found herself not moving. He held out his hand to her, and she subconsciously took it moments later, letting him bring her to her feet.

    I HAVE COME FOR YOU.

She raised an eyebrow, feeling a mix of emotions that were concealed by her guarded face. ❝What is this, some sort of intervention, a calling, or what?❞ she asked, not hiding the annoyance in her tone. ❝Seriously, why the hell would I go with someone who has been stalking me — who hasn't even seen their face yet?

God, she half-wished she could punch this guy — but considering all things, he might be her only source for answers.

This had better be good, otherwise I'm going to kick your ass.

Soon enough Alistair's eyes drifted over to Danel, where he shut them and chuckled again. This guy seemed to think himself rather funny. "But I digress...ignoring the babbling...just what does Lucifer wish from an ignorant mortal such as myself? For what purpose does the former angel of death serve?"

Danel leaned forward in the chair, his hands resting on his knees. There was a dark smile on his face and he looked up at the Angel of Death from across the desk. "He wants your help. Consider it," he waved his hand, "redemption, in a sense. If you assist us, then he'll forgive you for turning your back on us during the last war and you'll be able to join him in his good graces again. You can return to the Obsidian Palace and get your wings back." Danel thumbed the feathers of his darkening wings. He didn't have much longer before they were completely black. He was starting to miss the ivory color--too much time in hell. "However," he started, not looking at Alistair, "Should you decide to not join us, then you need to stay out of our business. This dumb red-haired bitch is out there trying to gather people to fight on the lord's side." he spat. "It's a pointless endeavor and she moves slowly. Already I've contacted nearly double the number of people in half the time. She believes that there is still good that can be done, but nothing will stop the Morning Star. So you either join us, or stay out of our way. If you help her, you'll experience a fate worse than a never-resting soul."
His brown eyes met Azrael's with full force. They were dark and menacing. He didn't want help from the Angel of Death or for his master to even consider allowing him to stand by his side once more. His gaze was full of contempt. Quite frankly, he would rather destroy Azrael right here and now.

"What is this, some sort of intervention, a calling, or what?" PURIEL ASKED, NOT HIDING THE ANNOYANCE IN HER TONE. SHE WAS ALWAYS QUICK TO THE TRIGGER. "Seriously, why the hell would I go with someone who has been stalking me — who hasn't even seen their face yet?"

"YOU WISH TO SEE MY FACE?" HE ASKED DUMBFOUNDED. THE THOUGHT HADN'T EVEN CROSSED HIS MIND. THE GUISE MUST HAVE BEEN HURTING HER EYES--THE CONSTANT SHIFTING BACK AND FORTH.

"This had better be good, otherwise I'm going to kick your ass."

HE LAUGHED AND CONTINUED TO HOLD HER HAND. THE LIGHT FADED AND FLICKERED AROUND HIM UNTIL HE STOOD THERE NEARLY TWO HEADS TALLER THAN HER. HIS A-SYMMETRICAL GOLDEN HAIR GLOWED IN THE SUNLIGHT. HALOS WERE A MYTH, BUT THE LIGHT CREATED A HALO SHAPED GLOW TO THE TOP OF HIS HEAD WHERE THE HAIR WAS LIGHTEST. HIS PALE GOLD EYES WERE WARM AND A SOFT SMILE CREPT ACROSS HIS LIPS AS HE LOOKED DOWN ON HER. "IS THAT BETTER?" HE ASKED WITH GENUINE CONCERN. SHE WAS AN EASY ONE TO ANGER AND HE NEVER WANTED HER MAD AT HIM. NOT THEN, AND MOST DEFINITELY NOT NOW.

HE WRAPPED AN ARM AROUND HER WAIST AND FOLDED HIS WINGS AROUND THE PAIR OF THEM. "I CAN TAKE YOU TO ONE OF THE PEOPLE NAMED ON YOUR LIST. YOU JUST HAVE TO TELL ME WHICH. XATHANAEL WILL FIND YOU. SHE IS THE ONE THAT CAN ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. I'M NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE, BUT I COULDN'T LET DANEL SINK HIS POISONOUS WORDS INTO YOU." HE STROKED THE TOP OF HER HEAD AND SIGHED. HIS CHEST ROSE AND FELL AGAINST HER BODY AS HE HELD THE MUCH SMALLER GIRL CLOSE TO HIM.

Shane soon walked in behind the man in a hat. There wasn't much that could be said about the church aside that it was fairly simple, plus considering where they were, anything fancy like a monitor or things like that weren't there. What they had though was fine, it was good enough for the main purpose of a church. Worship, nothing fancy as need to do that at all.

Since they were in the middle of a sermon as he entered, he was careful not to do anything to distracting. While looking for a place to sit, he just managed to see a red haired girl finished moving over to the end of a row. That took care of one problem, now he just had to get over there. Carefully he walked over to her and joined everyone else in what was left of the sermon.

The male sat down beside her. She also noticed Salgiel enter the church as well and eventually take a seat. The needle on the compass jumped between the man beside her and the doors of the church. There was definitely someone nearby other than the two men in the church. She mashed her lips together and formed a cross over her body. Hana bowed her head and said a prayer.

The rest of the service she remained quiet and clutched the compass. It burned against her skin and she grew impatient. Finally the priest said the last prayer and instead of lighting candles once dismissed, she turned to the man that sat down beside her. Hana cleared her throat and set a sweat pink hand on his shoulder. Excuse me, she greeted him in her Angelic speak, not knowing where he may be from, and smiled. Do you have a moment? I would really like to speak with you. she rose to her feet and began to slide out of the pew, heading towards the doors and the sunny outside world.

There was a car parked near the church and Hana's gaze drifted to it for a moment. A male figure was hidden inside and she felt a strange flutter from the compass. Her brows creased into a scowl and she turned her back on the car, waiting for the man she spoke to to exit the church after her.

"Ow! Damn it." Henrik snapped his hand back and growled lowly as he watched blood slowly run down his right hand. The nightmares from last night had seemingly drained him of his strength and concentration so that he had not noticed that he had over-tightened the guitar string so much. It was different than the others. There was death, but he had not been the one to cause it. The details were vague, but he knew that somehow he was connected to it. He could just feel it in his bones. He sighed out and placed the guitar on its case, going over towards the sink as he washed his new wound.

"Henrik! Noe forferdelig har skjedd!" The front door slammed as Iris ran over towards him, her pale face flushed as she tried to catch her breath. She had been out to lunch with some of her friends. Something bad must have actually happened if Iris had forgotten to call him. Henrik figured she probably didn't want to waste any time with making the call.

He placed his hands on her shoulders as Iris stammered. "Deep breath. Then speak, kjære." She nodded in response to him leaning in closer as she inhaled.

    "An American city...plane crash..."

It was terrible news, yes, but he wasn't sure why she was so worked up about it. "Which city?"

    "...Manhattan..."

If it had been just one year earlier, his heart would have sank. He had family that lived there though they recently moved out to another city and just in time it seems. Still, Iris knew this as well so she couldn't have been worried about them. Before Henrik could ask for any other details, Iris continued.

"Someone--something spoke. It said, 'he rises'."

'There's no way that could be connected to that man...' Even with his doubts, Henrik felt that he had already seen this coming. Almost like deja vu. All those innocent people killed and for what? What did they do to deserve such an end? How many even died? Who was responsible? He shook in place causing Iris to stare up at him. This wasn't guilt, fear, or even remorse that he was overcome with. It was nothing but anger.

When he laughed that stupid, melodic laugh of his, Hay Sun narrowed her eyes and wondered if he was just fucking with her. She was going to kick his ass into the middle of next fucking century. The fact that he was holding her hand was also annoying and made her face feel a little warm. Prick.

Just as she thought he wasn't going to do anything, the bright light faded from around them and Hay Sun's eyes quickly adjusted to the change, looking around to see that most everything was the same again. Except for her frozen friends. When she looked to the boy again, it wasn't just some shimmering shade speaking to her — it was an actual person . . . And he was extremely attractive. Holy shit, that was annoying.

IS THAT BETTER?❞ he asked her, and she rolled her eyes.

. . . Neat trick.❞ she forced out, trying to remain sarcastic. Man. How the hell was she supposed to kick his ass, now?

When he wrapped an arm around her waist, she swore that she almost snapped his neck from the close body contact because her face was on fire.

I CAN TAKE YOU TO KNOW OF THE PEOPLE NAMED ON YOUR LIST.❞ Her list . . . ? How did he know about that? They were miles, countries away; how was he going to manage it? ❝XATHANAEL WILL FIND YOU. SHE IS THE ONE THAT CAN ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. I'M NOT EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE, BUT I COULDN'T LET DANEL SINK HIS POISONOUS WORDS INTO YOU.

Great, now he was petting her like some kind of cat. Goddammit, if he wasn't so attractive, she would have him pinned to the ground in a heartbeat. But more importantly — Xathanael and Danel? She remembered reading about them in the books. Xathanael wasn't exactly the common name for that angel, one of fire and vengance, and then Danel . . . Danel was a fallen angel who had been cast from heaven, a part of the Watchers, who 'taught' the 'seven signs of the sun' to humans.

. . . They were both angels. What were they, some kind of code names? And what did pretty boy know about them? Maybe he was . . . Maybe they were some sort of secret organization and it was just a bunch of technology that . . . God, it was hard to buy this and that was pissing her off. So was he. Why did he have to stand so close to her — and freaking hold her, on top of that.

The questions spawned one after another. Who were these people, and why the fuck did they keep bothering her? Who was Danel — was he after her? What for? Hay Sun was no one special. Sure, she'd had a strange dream . . . Or a million, and her studies of religion and angels had spiked in the last few days, but none of that meant anything.

Hay Sun decided to slip out of his grip, and then she faced him crossing her arms. ❝Alright, pretty boy,❞ she started, ❝I don't know who the hell Xathanale or Danel is, but if you can give me one solid reason to not kick your ass, and then actually take me to someone who can answer my questions . . . Then maybe I'll consider even . . . Being here, and seeing you, and . . . Not beating the shit out of you.

Come to think of it, now that she knew what he looked like, Hay Sun wanted to know what his name was. He was being really cryptic, and it was annoying, but maybe he would still tell her. The energy that resonated around the two of them was practically harmonizing, like they were both the same kind of . . . whatever the hell pretty boy was. Still, Hay Sun wasn't anything; she was nothing but human.

    . . . Hey, what's your name?
