There was almost a fuzzy feeling he had as he woke up. He hadn't opened his eyes yet but his brain just didn't seem to be waking up easily. He held back a yawn a couple times as certain things finally started to kick in. When had he fallen asleep? Last he checked he was wide awake and fighting. Was he knocked out? Did something happen to his head? Did he just forget what happened?

Adam opened his eyes to be greeted with even more black, but this time he knew his eyes were open. For a second he was convinced he had gone blind. He looked around to see if maybe he could see something, anything. Just to confirm he wasn-

You aren't blind. It is just very dark. You couldn't even see the tip of your nose if you tried.

Adam swallowed nervously as he quietly whispered, "Hello?"

Someone is here, I can sense it.

    "Cal."

There was a voice stirring her from her slumber. She yawned and stretched. Cal rubbed the backs of her hands on her eyes, blinking the sleepiness away. She sat up in bed and looked to see Soren and Anna waiting. "Soren?" she asked in a daze.

He looked nervous. "I have a way out but it might be dangerous. I...I need you to say you'll agree to it."

Her features tightened and she looked hesitant, but nodded slowly. "Of course I agree. I said I wanted to go." She pulled herself out of bed and glanced around. Mali and Caius were gone. Cal stepped behind the divider to change quickly. "We need the others so that we can go right away. I don't want to stay here longer than we need to."

    "Hello?"

Lu turned in the shadows at the sound of the voice. A dark smile stretched across her face and she moved silently forward, kneeling down in front of the boy. "Good morning Adam." she greeted coldly. Her slender fingers wrapped around his arm and she dug her nails into his skin as she pulled the teen to his feet. "So glad we could get a moment together before the others started to wake up. I've missed our quality time together Adam." Lu pushed him forward and mist wrapped around them until they were outside in the light. The bindings stayed in place, but she released him at the edge of the step.

"Are you enjoying your time with your little friends, because it's just about over now." She tilted her head to the side and licked her her botom lip in anticipation.

LEON RECEIVED LITTLE SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE. HE WOKE TIRED AND WEARY. WITH A HEAVY SIGH, HE ROLLED OUT OF BED AND PULLED HIS SHOES ON QUICKLY, HAVING NOT CHANGED BEFORE SLEEPING. THEY NEEDED TO LEAVE. THEY WERE ALL IN DANGER STAYING HERE ANY FURTHER. NOT TO MENTION, THERE WERE OTHER ANGELS TO FIND. HE MADE HIS WAY OUT OF THE DESTROYED HOTEL QUICKLY AND SAT DOWN ON THE GROUND BESIDE THE SPOT WHERE HAY SUN HAD BEEN BURNED. HE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE IT -- LEAVE HER. WHAT OTHER CHOICE DID HE HAVE? HE WOULD FIND HER SOON. WHEN ALL THIS WAS OVER, HE WOULD GO LOOKING FOR HER AGAIN. WAS THAT HOW HE WOULD SPEND HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE -- ALWAYS SEARCHING FOR URIEL?

HE HOPED NOT. LEON SCOOPED UP A HANDFUL OF DIRT FROM THE SPOT WITH SCORCH MARKS AND RAN IT THROUGH HIS FINGERS. HE WANTED TO KEEP THIS. HIS FINGER DUG THROUGH THE DIRT, TRAILING SYMBOLS WHEREVER HIS HAND WENT. THEY WERE PROTECTION AND GUIDANCE RUNES. HOPEFULLY LIKE THIS, HE WOULD BE ABLE TO FIND HER EASIER. URIEL WAS OUT THERE SOMEONE, A NEWBORN WAITING TO BE AWOKEN ONCE MORE.

"Stay with Cal, Anna." His eyes shifted towards Caius's once again empty bed. The boy couldn't have been in the training room, nor the mirror room, so there weren't many other places he needed to check. After telling both Cal and his sister he would be back once he found Caius and Mali, Soren left the room. He snapped his fingers, watching as mist wrapped around his fingers.

"No, I'm better than this." It was just his nerves that made him sloppier this morning. That's all. He knew he had better control than that. Once more Soren stopped in front of the training room. He nudged the doors open finding nothing inside as expected. He was almost going to miss that place. Almost. Soren took a deep breath and clenched his fists watching as the mist disappeared from his hands. He allowed himself to smile briefly. Finally, after all this time, he knew he had the strength to do more than just train and kill time until he was ready.

Soren checked the operating room. Nothing. He checked Lu's room. More nothing. The mirror room in case Caius or Mali had wandered in within the last minute. Nothing. Then Araquiel's room. Though he felt a strange attachment to it, there was still nothing to be found. Soren was beginning to lose his patience. He said they were going to stick together and he meant it. They weren't leaving without Caius and Mali.

"Caius! Mali!" Soren called out. He heard scratching coming from the stairway leading to the basement. His shouting had only called the attention of a demon. Soren sighed out, giving the beast a bored stare. If either of the two were in the upper floor, he had little to worry about. But if they were in the basement...

"I think Soren's having trouble finding them." Anna looked towards the doorway when she heard her brother shout which was only followed by a choked growl of a demon, likely killed by her brother. "Why would Mali leave? And Caius?"

'Well isn't this magical. I let you do all the work for a little while and we get kidnapped. This is humiliating.'

    'There's a first for everything.'

'This wouldn't have happened if I started your training when you were still in your prime. But nope, I had to just let you go and get soft. A good seven years wasted if you ask me. Just had to let you get married and act all human. Ugh. All that potential wasted.'

'Would you stop complaining for a moment? Lu's scent is all over this.'

'You're lucky all you can do is smell her. I can taste when evil's that close. And it's gross. Like, leftover McDonald's that's been microwaved gross.'

Henrik sat up, having enough of Lei's smart remarks, rubbing his head. He opened his eyes only to find himself staring into the darkness. He tried to stand but found himself bound by the mist. Rather than struggle, he decided to save his strength until he knew he needed it. After shifting around in the dark, Henrik felt the same familiar weights in his coat pockets. His sword, the dagger, and his revolver. 'She must want to make a game out of this if she's gone through all this trouble of abducting us.'

Just hearing Regulus speak was nerve-wracking but Caius needed to stay strong, he needed to not falter. There were many things he needed to find out and Regulus had the answer. He gritted his teeth, trying his best not to show his fear. He clenched his fist and prepared himself. "I need answers...what am I? what did you do to me? what did you do to my mother?!"

Regulus raised an eyebrow and merely let out a rare chuckle as he shook his head "such meaningless questions...are you so weak that you cannot comprehend the truth? and that last one...how laughable...why care for a mere test rat?" Regulus said coldly staring down at Caius.

"WHY YOU!" Caius yelled as he rushed forward without a single shred of hesitation. He did not know this feeling, he had never felt such a feeling and it was new to him, but he didn't like it, it wasn't normal. It made his body rush forward out of his control, to do something he never wished to do. The man before him spoke of his mother so crudely and so it opened up an abnormal hatred in him.

An onslaught of punches headed towards the man and it was almost pathetic to him. Each strike was dodged as Regulus casually moved backwards as Caius continued to rush forward. Twisting his body to the side he avoided another fist from Caius and the doll behind him immediately caught the fist with ease and lifted the teen up. Taking the opportunity Regulus merely sent his fist towards the gut of Caius

The breath was knocked out of him as the blow connected and the doll merely let go of his fist. Collapsing to his knees Caius held his abdomen and began to cough as saliva escaped his mouth. Not even give a moment to comprehend the blow, another had hit him as Regulus used his foot and kicked him hard. Flying back Caius landed on his back and continued to cough. It was a mistake, for someone like him, who had never truly train to even attempt to fight. His father...barely even tried.

Regulus simply walked up towards his fallen son and stared down at him coldly as his doll followed along with him and stared down at the boy as well. "Disappointing..." Regulus said snapping his fingers. Upon the order the doll raised it's foot and began to repeatedly stomp on the boy's chest, causing Caius to scream out in pain. "Worthless...you cannot do anything...your just a waste of space...your just...a burden..." Regulus said.

The words...each of those words...they struck hard and Caius was losing it. The pain intensified and the last thing his father said finally shattered him. He was a burden...he was a waste...all he did was cause trouble. He hated it, he hated it with a great rage and it was terrifying.

This hatred was not normal and he couldn't think of anything else but blood. The pain needed to stop...the foot that stomped on him had stopped. He didn't realize it but his own hand had caught the foot and held it with a tight grip. Nails grew and dug deep into the foot and a red liquid trickled downwards. "Blood...it can bleed" Caius said without a single shred of emotion. With the foot still in hand, Caius immediately flung the doll away to the side and caused it to crash into a nearby wall.

"Interesting.." Regulus said as he watched his son rise to his feet slowly. "it has finally awoken...quite easier than I expected..." Regulus said. Nails as sharp as daggers, eyes cold and bright like a serpents, and a hateful aura surrounding the boy. Like a wild beast Caius yelled out loudly and ran forward with a great speed. In response Regulus raised both palms forward and an invisible shield formed.

With his claws Caius began to claw away at the invisible wall blocking his way. Regulus gritted his teeth, but smiled as well as he he held up the shield. Each blow was stronger than the last and the shield he held was actually giving way "This instant growth...how long till you lose it all?" Regulus said narrowing his eyes with a smirk.

    "Good morning Adam."

Adam felt Lu dig her nails into his skin before he even had time to react mentally and he was pulled to his feet.

"So glad we could get a moment together before the others started to wake up. I've missed our quality time together Adam."

    HAH! What a laugh.

He felt pushed forward and the light from outside was blinding comparing it to the inside that he kept his eyes shut for a bit and kept opening and closing them to get used to the light. All it did for him was give him a headache as he listened to her.

"Are you enjoying your time with your little friends, because it's just about over now."

When she was done speaking, his eyes had finally gotten used to the light and he maintained eye contact with her as he replied, "Almost as much as you like your own agenda. What are you even doing? Just a few months ago..."

Wow was it a few months ago already?

"...You were training me for Lucifer's plans. Now he wants you dead."

    "Caius! Mali!"

Mali walked down the staircase, having just come in from outside. That was Soren's voice. What was he shouting about now and why did he need both Caius and herself? Stupid. If this had anything to do with that ridiculous talk yesterday, he was just wasting his time. She jumped over the last three steps and landed lightly on the floor to the housing rooms. Noises were coming from down the hall and to the right. She could only figure it had something to do with Soren. She rolled her eyes and turned down the corner to see him headed for the basement.

"Hey Stupid!" she called out, "You're not gonna wanna go down there." Mali approached the boy slowly with her hands in her back pockets. She blew some stray hair out of her face and looked at him curiously. "Watch ya doin' stupid?"

Cal sat back down on her bed after Soren left. She didn't like just sitting idly by, but it was better if they didn't disperse too much. It was less people to track down later. Cal tapped her foot impatiently against the floor. How long would it take for Soren to find her twin and Caius? There was some shouting and growls which left a sinking feeling within her. "I think Soren's having trouble finding them."

"Yeah, it sounds like it." Where might they be? It usually wasn't too hard to find anyone in this place. They all had their own usual spots to go it.

"Why would Mali leave? And Caius?" asked Anna.

She bit down on her lip in concern. "I'm not sure what Mali does, just that she's rarely around. Why she left probably has something to do with where she goes. I'm afraid she's a lot more like Lu than the rest of us. As for Caius ... I have a feeling I know where he went, and it's probably not going to end well." Cal reached for the locket around her neck and wrapped her fingers over the pendant.

"Almost as much as you like your own agenda. What are you even doing? Just a few months ago... ...You were training me for Lucifer's plans. Now he wants you dead."

Temeluchas started to laugh. She lifted her foot to his chest and gave the boy a slight nudge, closer to the edge. "That's so cute. Danel is pretty creative when it comes to spinning tails. You mean you actually believed that story? The Morning Star doesn't want me dead. That was just a ploy to mess with your group. Doesn't matter anymore. You're all going to die now anyway. You don't appear to be on our side anymore. I wonder what Harbonah would have to say..." Her blue eye darkened and her smile twisted into a sneer. She flicked her wrist and a compact mirror appeared in the palm of her hand, shrouded in mist. Lu held it up for Adam to see. Instead of a reflection, the looking glass held the miniature shape of a long, white - haired woman pounding on the glass and silently calling for help.

"You didn't honestly believe there was no point to Alistair helping Harbonah after she was stabbed, did you? His assistance allowed for me to catch her soul after it left her body." She gave him a sharp, toothy grin and the mirror disappeared.

Soren turned around, only having gone down one step when Mali spoke to him. He tilted his head, staring at her and pointed in the direction of their room. Mali was never in a good mood, she always seemed to be condescending now, but Soren didn't have time to argue with her. "Go back and wait with Cal and Anna. I'll get Caius and then I'll get us all out of here."

He looked down towards the basement. "Caius isn't around. If he's down there I'll bring him back. Besides, it's not like you're actually worried about me. Soren glanced back at Mali. Her attitude did not phase him. She acted tough but he doubted the girl could do anything more than that. Still, even if he did not like her he was determined to stick to his word. They were all going to leave and that was final. "I'm more than strong enough to get us all out of here. Now unless you want to be left alone, go with the others. Soren began to descend the staircase without any other word to the girl.

"Where do you think Caius is?" Anna paused and stared at Cal. "Soren's probably out checking the basement." She stood up, knowing that even if Caius wasn't there, Soren would still go down there. He had always wanted to go to the basement. She was worried what he would find there would only hurt him.

    "We could go after him..."
Anna then shook her head, knowing that wasn't the best idea she ever had. If Soren showed up with Mali and Caius, it wouldn't do them any good if she and Cal weren't there. No, it was better to stay put. She was certain Cal felt the same anyways. "Never mind...but I don't like waiting."

Lu performed a typical laugh before she nudged him closer to the edge with her foot. The idea of falling off was starting to get to him already.

"That's so cute. Danel is pretty creative when it comes to spinning tails. You mean you actually believed that story? The Morning Star doesn't want me dead. Adam flinched a bit at the sound of her name before he watched her pull out a compact mirror and sh held it up for Adam to see. In the mirror, he saw a white-haired girl pounding on the glass and silently calling for help.

"You didn't honestly believe there was no point to Alistair helping Harbonah after she was stabbed, did you? His assistance allowed for me to catch her soul after it left her body."

Adam's eyes widened a bit before he shook his head, "I don't believe you for a second. The knives destroy souls don't they? I doubt her soul even left her body before it got destroyed..."

    Oh boy...

Hmph. Stupid really was as dumbbell as he looked if he honestly believed she would do as he told her. Mali had no intention of running off with the rest of them. She liked it here. She enjoyed mindlessly killing demons and causing trouble for others. The rest of them were too weak-minded to handle it, it seemed. Too bad for them. Mali took a seat on the hallways floor, legs crossed. She would wait. If any monsters trued to cross her path in the mean time, they wouldn't stand a chance.

"Where do you think Caius is?"

Cal looked up at Anna mournfully. "With his father," she said with a whisper. If Soren really was having a hard time finding the other boy, that was why. Cal had hoped Caius would be done with that man, but it did not appear so. She thumbed at the locket some more while pulling her legs up to her chest.

"Soren's probably out checking the basement." Said Anna.

Cal sighed. She hoped not. "I told him not to go down there. Stupid." Calamitosum shook her head in dismay. Soren would go down to the basement when it was dangerous. He was so reckless.

"We could go after him..." suggested Anna. Cal looked at her incredulously and the raven - haired girl immediately changed her mind. "Never mind ... but I don't like waiting."

    "Me neither," Cal agreed.

"I don't believe you for a second. The knives destroy souls don't they? I doubt her soul even left her body before it got destroyed..."

Lu smirked, pleased with herself. The mirror reappeared and she stroked the glass affectionately. A disgruntled Harbonah crossed her arms and scowled through the glass. "If you say so Pet. It's too late for you to really learn much of the truth anyway. You'll die with the rest of those fools being sacrificed here, but--" her grin grew wider as she looked straight through Adam's eyes to his soul, "Semyaza, don't you think it will eat at you for the rest of your existence? That nagging feeling of uncertainty that tugs at the back of your mind -- it will be for this moment, never really knowing if Harbonah died or not. Oh well."

Temeluchas lifted Adam up by his shirt collar and let his feet dangle over the edge. "It's been fun playing games with you Pet." she whispered to him before throwing the boy back towards the wall of the pyramid. A dark portal opened up, letting Adam fall through it, back into the darkness, with the Chief Angel of Torment following slowly after.

A cracking noise echoed through the air before finally the sound of shattering glass roared. His claws making its way through the invisible shield, Caius thrust his claw forward in an attempt to draw blood from the hated man before him.

Regulus' eyes widened for a moment as the shield had given way. He was expecting for the boy to break through, but he did not expect so soon. He needed to act fast in order to correct the blunder that was made, he immediately jumped backwards and immediately snapped his fingers, causing the shards to shoot forward. The shards pierced Caius' body and sent him flying backwards. Landing on his feet Regulus glanced down at his chest and smirked "Blood...." Regulus said as he stared at the bleeding wound.

Once again on his back Caius slowly rose to his feet as blood lightly trickled downwards. He took a step further but immediately held his head and shook it.

"Your a resilient one...maybe you do take after me...somewhat..." Regulus said as his doll joined him momentarily. "It makes things much more interesting...I would dare say if it wasn't for that girl this would have been a much earlier result..." Regulus said. "Affection is meaningless...others may find comfort in it but you shall not...." Regulus said snapping his fingers as demons rushed forward at Caius.

His mind was leaving him, soon he was to become just like the mindless husks that raged forth and tried to attack him. Affection...he had received it, but he was not worthy, even now he had betrayed this affection and foolishly head to his father. It was all his fault, the hatred just continued to blind him and his thoughts were now eclipsed. He slashed through the first demon that approached him and ripped off the second's head. Caius began to slaughter each and everyone of them while Regulus calmly watched on.

As he expected, the basement was dark. The first thing Soren took notice of were the dozens of cells that lined the first area along with the stench of death. Even though his eyes adjusted quickly enough, he decided to move things along by lighting up his path. Soren raised his hand allowing mist to form around his palm before the black mist began to let off a soft golden light having changed color. It was just one of the many tricks he had learned during his training.

He used the light to closely examine the area and stopped for a moment near one of the cells. A different scent came to him. It was the remnants of what he believed to have been an angel but he could not recognize who it belonged to. It wasn't Lu, Alistair, or even Regulus. He shook his head, knowing he was just wasting his time thinking about it. He could only imagine what kind of people or things were kept here but that wasn't what he was looking for. Someone else was down there and the further he walked the more he could hear the sounds of a fight.

Anna kicked aimlessly at the floor and took in a deep breath. Caius being with his father did not sound good. She knew the man was cruel and dangerous. She did her best to take her mind off what might already be happening as she could do nothing about it. Her thoughts wandered off to something her brother had likely never thought about. "When they come back, where will we go? I have a feeling that Soren wants us to get away from everyone and everything. But I don't think he even knows where that is...You've used the mirror room the most. Where do you think we should go?"

Echoes of a struggle went through the large cell room. Soren held his hand out towards the fight he heard to see Caius fighting off a hoard of demons that, from what he could see, Regulus had called forth. Soren ran through the path and rather than aid Caius against the demons, charged straight for Regulus, quickly cutting down the few demons that separated them. Mist condensed in Soren's other hand as he launched a powerful blast that ripped through a demon that got in the way and hurtled towards Caius's father. "That's enough!" Two blades of mist were called to Soren's hands. "Hurry up with the fodder, Caius! I'll finish things here." It was his responsibility to look after the others as he was the oldest. Even if just by minutes or seconds, even if it may not have been entirely true, he felt responsible for them.

Regulus raised an eyebrow in fascination as he noticed the intrusion of Soren. "I see so the recluse one has joined...this was unforeseen" Regulus said placing his arms forward and formed a small shield that took the brunt of the attack that had headed towards him. With a flick of his wrist to the side both the attack and the shield dispersed and Regulus kept an eye on Soren and smirked "you'd best keep an eye on your back" Regulus said leaping backwards a bit.

All this blood did not satisfy him in the slightest. They were merely fodder, pitiful kills that did not satisfy him in the slightest. There were two that stood before him, two that held a strange radiance for the beast. This angelic radiance drew him in, he wanted to eliminate it. Letting out a loud screech he rushed forward with his claw. Ignoring the leftover demons he rose his claw and swung down at Soren.

Seeing that his attack had failed, Soren sighed out. He knew he should have put more effort into the first strike. With Regulus's warning, Soren turned to stop Caius's claw with his sword. He raised an eyebrow and looked into the boy's crazed eyes, finding that Caius was not all there. He had lost his temper in a way that Soren only would have if he had never learned to control himself. He was disappointed that his talk with Caius had not prevented this but hardly surprised. It was easy to sense the bloodlust of the boy. "Cal's not going to be happy if I bring you back all bruised up." Soren spoke calmly. "I'd love to talk things out with you, but we don't have time for this." The second blade began to collapse as the mist started to swirl around his hand. He had no reservations about killing Regulus, but Caius was a different story.

He swung his fist, wrapped in the mist, at Caius's gut with blinding speed before stepping away from the boy and swinging his blade at Regulus. A sharp wave of mist followed from the sword, even stronger than the first attack, and sped towards the man before Soren returned his attention to Caius and with a quick motion, flung one of the remaining demons telekinetically towards the boy's back. As strong as he was, he didn't want to fight Caius, Regulus, and the demons at once. Better to let the fodder slow Caius down before Soren would get the opportunity to knock him out.

The blow to Caius' gut caused the boy to stagger back in pain from the sudden blow to his gut and blood seeped out of his mouth, but this did not stop his desire to see blood in the slightest. He began to rush forwards with all his might, but his body felt sluggish. No matter how hard he tried he could not fully ignore the effects of his wounds and something else was holding him back. Before he could make his advance at Soren his body was flung back as a demon collided with his body.

Another attack had headed towards Regulus and the man quickly reached behind him and unsheathed a sword he had been carrying about. As the attack drew closer Regulus merely sheathed the blade with his shards of time and swung at the mist wave. The two collided and Regulus struggled against it but soon enough the man cut through the wave.

Caius was not done yet, but it felt as if the gravity in the room had increased ten fold. He got to his feet, but something was pulling him down. Demons clung to his body trying to pull him down and devour him. He slashed through them as they dug their nails in him, but more arrived in order to prey on the weakened boy. He continued on but was quickly getting overwhelmed.

Regulus merely stared around the room and let out a disappointing sigh "it seems the demon child has drawn in more demons...thats enough...it seems he is at his limit" Regulus said snapping his fingers as a few humanoid demons head towards his side "I had hoped that Calamitosum had shown up...but unfortunately you will do..." Regulus said turning his back on the scene and walked away. The humanoid demons that were called forth began cleaving away the demons before Regulus and the doll merely walked behind it's master

Soren's second blade rematerialized in his hand once Caius was being held back by the demons. The growling only grew behind Soren and as he turned back to see what was going on, he saw Caius already beginning to get overwhelmed. He had overestimated the boy's strength. "Hang in there!" Immediately several demons were severed in two. Soren had hoped he would be able to free Caius before Regulus could attack but the man started to walk away, having some of his own odd-looking demons begin to kill the others that had been summoned earlier. Soren growled lowly and hacked away at the beasts that clawed at Caius.

"Coward!" Soren shouted at Regulus. He had no idea what the man meant by bringing up Cal at all or that "he would do" but it didn't matter. The man deserved to die for doing this to his son but as much as Soren wanted to put all his effort into killing the man, getting Caius out was still more important. Even if the boy had attacked him it wasn't his fault. Without any discrimination, Soren began to cut down the humanoid things Regulus had summoned, not stopping until nothing was left between himself and Caius. The only good demon was a dead demon.

His legs began to buckle from the sheer fatigue and Caius fell to both his hands and knees as heavily began to pant. His energy was fading fast and so too did the anger and hatred he felt. Blood, sweat and tears fell as his arms shook from the weight of his body "Soren...I'm sorry..." Caius let out barely louder than a whisper.

Upon saying that one of his arms gave way, unable to hold him up and Caius fell slightly still struggling to remain up "I cause so much trouble...I fail at all I do...its pathetic...I can't...help anybody" Caius said softly as his other arm gave way and caused his body to lie on the ground. Resting his head unable to move he just stared forward with dull eyes as the tears began to flood.

Wisps of mist faded from Soren's hands once just he and the wounded Caius remained. Soren breathed deeply and knelt beside the boy as he looked over Caius's injuries. He had no power to heal him. "This wasn't your fault." He assured Caius. "I'm going to get you out of here. We're gonna patch you up and then we're all leaving. Don't worry." He had no idea how to mend injuries, let alone fix anything that looked this bad. Soren shook as he slowly picked up Caius off the stained floor.

He couldn't let him die. Not here, not now. "I-It'll be alright." He said it more for himself than Caius. "Just let me do all the worrying here." He swallowed the knot in his throat and stumbled forth with Caius, slowly picking up his pace as he made his way to the stairway all the while cursing himself for letting any of this happen in the first place. His legs felt heavy but it wasn't out of exhaustion as the fight had done little to tire him. Soren opened his mouth to call out for the others' help but nothing came. As he ascended the stairway his eyes first caught a glimpse of Mali waiting there despite what he had told her to do. There wasn't any time to argue with her for being so stubborn. "Get some supplies from the operating room! I'll bring him back to our room. Hurry up!" Soren barked out in an order. They would worry about what they could do afterwards.

Anna was kicking aimlessly at the floor while Cal fiddled with the locket around her neck. They were both growing impatient. It was taking too long for Soren to return and her thoughts kept wandering to what might be going on with Caius. The sound of Anna's voice was the only thing to break Cal's trance - like state. "When they come back, where will we go? I have a feeling that Soren wants us to get away from everyone and everything. But I don't think he even knows where that is...You've used the mirror room the most. Where do you think we should go?"

She lifted her head slowly and looked thoughtful. Short blonde locks shifted back and forth as she shook her head. Cal really had no idea where they might go. If Soren was attempting to make a portal, they needed to be specific on the location. She didn't really know any destinations in Midworld and the only person she could think of was Alistair, who was currently with Lu. That didn't leave them with a lot of options. "I'm not sure where we're supposed to go. We have to have a specific person or place in mind before passing through or we could wind up just about anywhere, not to mention, be ripped to pieces from the mist. We have to know the place we want to go if we're not choosing a person and the only one that has gone to Midworld is Mali." She didn't see her sister being very helpful on this front. Mali would probably have them wind up some place unbearable as a joke.

Mali grew bored of sitting in the hall rather quickly. There was a lot more noise coming from downstairs and she was starting to get jealous. She wanted to knock some heads around as well. Tch -- bunch of losers they all were. Mali sighed out of boredom until she saw a tired looking Soren dragging a worse - for -wear Caius up the stairs. That was interesting. Maybe something good would come out of today. It was so cute to see Boyfriend 1 and Boyfriend 2 getting along like this. It made her heart melt -- not really.

She got to her feet just as Soren approached and started to shout more commands at her. Who did he think she was, her sister? Soren wasn't the boss of her. "Get some supplies from the operating room! I'll bring him back to our room. Hurry up!"

Mali rolled her eyes and followed after, sticking close to Soren and Caius, without providing either of them any help. "And why should I do that, Stupid? What has Caius done for me? Nothing last I checked. It's his fault he's injured, after all."

"What the hell's wrong with you? He's one of us! All we have is each other and you'd rather see him bleed out?"

She waved her finger in his face as they started to round the corner to their hall. "Correction: all you have is each other. I have plenty of other people. I didn't turn my back on the adults here. I have no problem with them. I quite like it here and I'd rather see Caius -- and the rest of you -- learn from his idiot mistakes than coddle him. Do you really think a bunch of bandages are going to do him any good?" she asked as they reached the door to their room.

Mali didn't wait for a reply. She flipped her long blonde hair over her shoulder and skipped the short distance to the operating room. She hesitated at the entrance and turned her head back to check over her shoulder. "Just so you know, I'm only doing this 'cause I'm bored, not because I actually feel like being helpful."

Sal woke up to find himself in some kind of awkward situation. He didn't feel like he could move at all and when he opened his eyes he didn't seem to notice any actual difference between having his eyes open and having them shut. Well this was quite different from the norm. He couldn't quite tell what was going on, but he was positive it was the work of some form of dark angel, as opposed to just some sort of hung over night out. He could rule out Danel doing something like this, seeing as he had just enlisted their help. Which meant there were only two other dark angels, that he knew of at least, that could possibly be behind this. "It's here. The Chief Angel of Torment, that is."

'Ah, I figured as much.' Sal had not been all that sure what to do in this situation. After all, the last time he had been put in a situation like this, well...he couldn't actually do anything. In fact he had been saved primarily by Danel...and somewhat from Doctor Grey antagonizing the little winged dark angel.

"It would be foolish to believe that the Angel of Judgment will come by again."

'Right, right. I figured that much as well.' Clearly, in his current state of helplessness, trying anything would be futile. So his mind simply wandered for a bit. He wondered where the others were, and how many exactly were with him in this situation. Doing nothing wasn't going to gain him any answers though. Figuring that the dark angel herself was with them in the room right now he said, "my my, Temeluchus, we have to stop being in situations like these. Something vile cooked up for us once more I suppose?"

Soren narrowed his eyes at the blonde, staring hard at the girl until she finally changed her mind and decided to make herself useful. He had no idea what her problem was. She was so willing to turn her back on them when it was so apparent that they had to get out. Still, at least she was going to help. He couldn't understand how Cal and Mali could even be related.

Soren hurried into their room, finding Cal and Anna still there. At least they had listened. He didn't say anything at first, quickly moving to Caius's bed to lay the boy on it while Mali gathered supplies. He had no idea what to tell them. "Regulus...got away. I had to bring him back." Soren shook his head and looked at the two girls, lowering his voice. "Caius attacked me too but I don't think it was his fault." He couldn't lie to them. What if Caius lost control again? Then whoever Caius might hurt would be on his hands.

"What?! Are you sure...? Are you okay?"

His sister seemed more worried about their condition than what had happened. Soren nodded for both questions and rubbed his forehead. "I should have been there sooner." He paused before adding, "Mali's getting some things from the operating room." His eyes turned towards Cal, unsure of what more could be said.
