But it's nice (and ironic) that you have a sweet little haven on the World Wide Web (database, futuristic something-or-other you randomly found), where you can connect with others.

Refresh.exe is a popular messenger application used all over the world. It connects people to various servers, providing excellent means of communication. It supports features like Private Message and Whisper, along with Private Rooms (password protected).

But of course there's still a world outside of the Internet (to your dismay), and there are still things to do like get groceries, attend school, fight demons, or whatever you do on a daily basis. But until daylight breaks, let's enjoy chatting, eh? ​

She imagined it would be gone soon.

With a hard swallow, the girl's perfect blue eyes narrowed. Her pajama-covered body twisted, and the vivid yellow banana peel in her hand was quickly discarded into the trash bin behind her. As she turned back around in the plush bed below her, her hand simply reached to her right, where she began peeling back the peels of yet another bright banana. Her eyes locked onto the dimly glowing LCD screen in front of her, the room otherwise dark. Twin beds sat on opposite sides of the large bedroom door (in the middle of the north wall), the room decorated with various signature plush dolls and figures of her and her mirror image.

Another swallow, and a soft groan left her lips. There simply wasn't much interesting to do on the computer at eight at night, she figured. She supposed she should be happy, considering how busy her days were. Not to mention loud. Even now, she could hear the faint hum of a drifting Miku Hatsune rooms away. As she was about to close the top to the laptop and attempt sleep, she remembered the application she had earlier downloaded onto the laptop. Refresh.exe, it read. Marked with a pretty sea-green icon on the corner of her neatly organized desktop. Her eyes flickered back towards the bed across the room, watching the blankets rise and fall with Len's breathing before she took another small bite of the banana and double clicked.

The interface was clean enough for her liking, keeping the green theme. She noticed that people were signed it, and decided to be the social butterfly, as usual.

His sea green eye peered up blurry at the ceiling. With a yawn and a stretch he was up and moving. A grin already playing on his lips as he glanced unnoticed over Rin's shoulder. When the browser address was set in his mind he traveled over to the solitary desktop. The best Crypton had to offer. Since the machine was always in a constant state of sleep, a simple shake of the mouse and a quick glance behind him showed that she was oblivious to his presence. Until he double clicked the application, and she'd noticed his matching hands had swiped a banana from under her nose.

Unconsciously he hummed along with Miku, he couldn't help it really. They all knew all if not most of each others songs. In case they were made to perform a duet or sing their own version of the song. In seconds he'd zoomed through the registry. Curiosity took over his brain and he leaned forward in anticipation of the loading application and also the surprising his roommate and crush. A light pink took over his cheeks and his eyes glazed as he thought of his crush, only a few feet behind him. It was only after the computer's twin speakers beeped multiple times as he entered the room full of chatters did he snap out of his daydreams of hand holding and park walking.

Golden eyes scanned over the screen of the laptop before them, looking over the program a friend had suggested for her. The owner of these eyes had always been good with computers, everything to do with them came naturally to her, but she never been good with social things. This included this messenger as well. A personal message... That was just something to put there, right? Well...she couldn't think of something to put there. But she felt leaving it empty was...wrong, in a way.

Kanade Tachibana, the silver haired student, looked down at the keyboard with a defeated sigh and simply put "I don't know what to put here..." in her personal message and then turned away from the desk on which the laptop sat upon. No one was on the thing at the moment so she got up and went to do some chores. Upon returning she found that two people were on now. A smiled graced her lips as she sat back down and reached for the keyboard, unsure how exactly to respond.

Sitting in front of a monitor sat a spiky black haired man named Son Goku. With his arms crossed he stared at the blank screen and scratched the back of his head "I don't want to do this, but Chichi will kill me if I don't start this thing" Goku said in fear of his wife.

Flashback​

After having much fun outside, Goku and his son named Gohan walked in the house happily laughing at the great time they had outside. "and where were you two?" said the voice of Goku's wife Chichi. Upon hearing her voice Goku and Gohan looked over at her in fear "d-dad why don't you explain" Gohan said backing away. "w-w-wait Gohan" Goku said he watched his son leave and looked over at his wife nervously "well you see I thought Gohan deserved a rest from all that studying so I decided to train with him" Goku said "so you think training is more important that Gohan's school work" Chichi said. "Of course I do" Goku said with a big smile loosing all nervousness. "that it" Chichi yelled certainly not amused as she picked up the dinner table "whoa Chichi calm down" Goku said desperately as he backed away "I am tired of having you rot Gohan's brain with all your fighting. I want him to grow up to be a great scholar but that will never happen if he is training to fight" Chichi yelled as she threw the table at Goku "Gah Im sorry Chichi Im Sorrryyyy" Goku yelled as the table hit him. "you need to speak with normal people for once. Maybe that will get rid of your fighting habits" Chichi said as she looked over at Gohan "Gohan teach your father how to use that program you recently got. I never thought we would find a proper use for that thing" Chichi said as Gohan nodded nervously.

"And Chichi said if I didn't go on this thing I won't have any dinner" Goku said crying to himself for a while and soon snapped out of it "alright the fast I get on the faster I can eat...now lets see if I can remember what Gohan showed me" Goku said as he pushed the power button on his computer. "Alright its on" Goku said happily as the computer started and the desktop came up. After clicking the program Goku watched as it opened "whoohoo it works now can this thing really talk to other people? lets give it a test" Goku said

As soon as the name popped up, she recognized it, eyelashes fluttering softly in thought before her chin turned and her eyes were focused on Len. The messy blonde strands hovering over the hue of the glowing desktop made her smile, disregarding the missing banana that should have been on her right, to instead lift the warm laptop off of her cotton pajama bottoms as to move her body to the opposite side of the room and to the bed closest to him. His presence made the center of her chest warm, along with her face as a rosy hotness spread over her cheeks. She wiggled into the soft sheets beneath her, settling into his heavier scent, eyes moving back the the screen. She didn't need to say anything, she knew he knew she was there, and her heart fluttered at the knowledge.

She was suddenly taking in the greetings, nose crinkling at the name 'Sexylips'. But she wasn't here to judge, and instead giggled, fingers tapping the keyboard again.

Goku stared at the screen of his monitor intently upon writing his message "Nothing is happening...hmmm I guess it doesn't work" Goku said as he continued to stare at the screen until some messages appeared. With the new messages catching him off guard, Goku yelled in surprise and fell backward on his chair. Luka stretched and leaned back in her chair. She stared up at the ceiling. What could she do now? Boredom set in fast. Gazing at her desktop screen she idly scanned the icons on it wondering what to do and whether it'd be any fun. Luka pondered the suggestion. That would mean asking all of these strangers to keep their names private. It would be too much of a hassle and possibly a burden on these nice people. She typed her response to the suggestion. After typing it, she scrolled back up to see Goku's message. It confused her. This guy didn't know that? Did that mean, his username was actually his real name? He must trust people a lot. She hoped no one would take advantage of that. Shaking her head, she thought back about the name issue. It shouldn't really matter much, since she as well as the other Vocaloids were pretty famous and well known. The only harm it would do would be a storm of fans.
