"Oh no! Wha-I'm fal-who?" Before he could control himself, Icarus found himself falling from the skies. As the ground rushed towards him, the scene around him changed. He saw a chariot fly across the sky, the sun tied to it; a lion transform into a woman, then an eagle, and then a glowing woman; a golden man with a beard, completely unclothed, sitting on a throne with a large glass of wine; a woman surrounded by young girls in a forest, each with a bow and arrow; another woman standing in a field, surrounding by several citizens, when suddenly, a large olive tree sprouted from the ground; an old woman tending to a garden as a young boy watched; a man with six arms forging a sword with a large hammer; a naked woman, laying in bed with two other women. And then, without warning, Icarus saw the buildings of Athens rising over him. "No!" He yelled, just as his body was mere feet away from the stone roads. The power of Hermes activated and his descent immediately stopped and the young, blue-haired man found himself floating in the middle of a crowd of onlookers. "Iamsorry," he quickly said as kicked the ground and shot to the air at a blinding speed once again. I cannot bring so much attention to myself! He scolded himself as he flew high and away, making sure nobody could follow his path. Once he was sure nobody could possibly spot him, he slowed down. "I cannot believe it," he sighed, shaking his head. "Apollo, Hera herself, Dionysus, Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and Ares?" He counted in his head before pulling a tiny scroll out of his bag. He unfolded the scroll and went over it several times. "Yes, no other way around it. Nine of the Twelve Olympians are here, in Athens...no, I make ten. Ten Demigods are here..." he was confused, surprised, and, above all, excited. "I cannot believe it. The universe has smiled upon me! Though Poseidon and Zeus are still out there, they are only but two -possibly the most important two, yes-, but two nonetheless." He smiled in joy. "May the Gods bless you, you divine little thing!" He laughed as he flipped through the air, humorously talking to his ability of receiving visions. "Now to find the closest one," he decided, having put quite some distance between himself and the Demigod of Ares. He focused for a moment. "Ah, of course. There you are!" He chuckled and quickly somersaulted, but stopped himself halfway and flew towards the city.



While Icarus was searching for Demigods in the other side of Athens, Kalas had spotted one. And even more, the eagle witnessed the Demigod use his powers. As the bird dove towards Kaji, it screeched, warning the Demigod. He did not plan to attack Kaji, of course not, the plan was to get his attention. With another screech, Kalas let his wings open and slowed his fall, landing right in front of Kaji. The eagle was large, up to Kaji's shoulders, and a bright and golden brown. It narrowed its eyes and squawked at Kaji.

 

Everything has the potential to be great; you only need the wisdom to be able to use it.​

Myrina paused for a second, running back through their words in her head. It sounded to her as if they'd let her take part, they weren't going to stop her as usual. Had they forgotten her parents instructions or had they given up on telling her. Either way, she was not going to remind them, she wouldn't miss this chance.

A small smile spead over her face as she looked at the leader who had spoken, "Well I'm glad some things never change. You're ever so tight about your resources and you're insuring yourself already. If this goes wrong, you'll say you had nothing to do with it but if it succeeds you'll be all to eager to take the credit. Am I right?" She said, though she knew she'd probably just get into more trouble for it and she was being a little too harsh on him. He had a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and he was just protecting his people. Despite this, he was still an idiot sometimes and she just couldn't resist making the odd comments.

She turned to Orpheus and nodded, "Sure, I'll do all I can to help. Let's bring a little hope back to this city. Shall we move somewhere now? It appears that we are done in this meeting and the less people that know our plan of attack, the better as there is less chance of it being leaked." She added, turning and bowing her head to the council. That was a sign of respect and a way of requesting their leave but with her there was always something left to read between the lines. She liked this new guy from the little she'd seen of him, he was better than most of the people she met these days. She knew she'd find out if her first impressions were right soon enough, she found she could judge people a lot better when she worked with them

"You mean this is a-?!" Icarus could not even say the word 'brothel,' for his innocence was too great. "Erm, I apologize," he whispered, quickly looking down. True, he had found the Demigod of Ares earlier, but he had lost him. Now the blue-haired Demigod of Hermes had found himself closer to the Demigod of Aphrodite, goddess of love. Though he did not expect to find her in a brothel as a tsoulus (sex slave), he figured it was appropriate. Now, he just had to find the boldness to...well...buy her. "Excuse me, sir...it's my first time," he smiled apologetically, half-lying. "Is there any chance I could...browse your selections?"

 

OOC: Yow, didn't notice till I checked a minute ago. BTW, glad this isn't officially dead yet, I was hoping it would keep going. Just hope I'm not wrong

IC: Kaji stood still and stared at the giant eagle. He wasn't sure what the right reaction was for having a giant eagle come swooping down right in front of him and squawking. The good news was, he really didn't have any reaction at all, the bad news: he felt like he was going to get eaten. "Ok, nice little birdie. Well, maybe not so little." Kaji looked the bird in the eye and saw himself. He knew birds didn't just come out of the sky and land if front of people to yell, or in this case squawk, especially birds that are three-quarters his size, but he didn't know what it wanted. "Polly want a cracker? Oh wait, wrong bird...Well, what is it that you want, huh?"

 

Estes grinned widely at the blue haired boy. His reasoning was simple: freaks of a kind flock together. "Absolutely, my boy. Girls!" he shouted loudly up the stairs and several girls came running down wearing golden embroidered dresses and jewelry that slipped underneath the hems of their dresses. Last to sulk down the stairs was the purple haired girl, her clothes torn and dirty and barely covered her pale skin. "You're late...again. When I call...you come running. How many times must I repeat myself?" His voice was strained and his smile fake and still the girl lowered her eyes to the ground and curtsied elegantly towards Icarus. "Forgive my lateness. I...was not expecting someone of your stature to visit so soon..." she spoke quietly and kept her teeth clenched as she spoke. Her words were rehersed and her eyes never left the floor. Such was the manner of all the girls she spoke for.

Aurora stepped lightly down the staircase, greeted by the smile of a man a few years her senior. His olive skin and oily black hair made her cringe. They were all the same: cold greedy eyes, fake smiles, overzealous pleasantries, and the touching. They all seemed far too touchy. They were consistently stroking her back, patting her knee, and playing with her hair. It grossed Aurora out, but it wasn't her place to say anything in front of them. Her parents would send him away after a few hours of spending time together and then she would insist on never seeing the man again.

She smiled politely at him and he kissed her hand as she reached the bottom of the staircase. "Good afternoon Miss Aurora. It's a pleasure to finally meet you." Aurora had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. It was the same thing every time. Of course it is. I bet it's a pleasure to try and get your grubby filthy greedy hands on what bit of money that remains in my family's name. She curtsied to him and stepped closer.

"It's a pleasure for me as well. And what do you have in store for us today?" She batted her eyelashes and watched as he momentarily turned to puddy in her hands. Aurora couldn't wait for him to change just like all the others. For him to become drunk with greed and power. It was pathetic really.

"I've planned a lovely day in the city for us." Of course he was. They all planned trips to the city. It was like they thought she had never been in town before. She nodded and slipped her hands around his arm while he lead her to the door.

 

"I'll teach you fear!"​

As Jayden continued to wander the streets he passed many building that somewhat caught his attention Though he didn't walk into any of them there was one that really caught his attention. "So this is a brothel." He said to himself. Even with all the times he's wander through out the city he's never seen one for himself. Though if what he's heard about these places is true, then that was probably a good thing. "Guess now is a good of a time as any to see if the stories I've heard are true or not.." He said as he walked towards the door and opened it

Icarus quietly looked at each girl, though he never met their eyes. He blushed each time one of them smiled at him. Some of them were eager (and it looked like those were the ones who were often bought the most) and some nervous...but the one that caught his eye was the one at the end, the late one, the one apologizing, the Demigod of Aphrodite. Icarus' face lit up. Finally, a companion! This was the first one whose eyes he met, his gleaming with hope. "That one," he said, his lips parting to reveal a grin. "She is the one," he told the man, pointing to Aphrodite's Demigod. "Definitely...that one."




Kalas chirped angrily and tilted his head. What was wrong with this human? Did he not understand Kalas? Kalas chirped one more time and then turned around, hopping in a semi-circle. It spread one wing and flapped it, turning its head to look at Kaji with one eye. It then started hopping forward, hoping the Demigod would understand.

 

"A fine choice. She's quite the exotic one isn't she? Not just her hair and eyes are interesting." The girl's eyes widened and she seemed about to be sick as she doubled over onto her knees. "Please no more! Please! I beg of you, choose someone else!" she cried until Estes shoved her onto her side with his foot and yanked back her head by her purple hair. "You'll be a good girl and do as this young paying man bids." She bit back a cry as he yanked on her hair until she stood. She shut her eyes and bowed her head. Turning back up the stairs she quietly walked back to her rooms. Estes held out his hand, "That'll be two-hundred trenny silver. And do be quick about it. I've got another customer awaiting." he jerked his head back to the boy behind him.

Icarus almost jumped. "Two hundred tre-" he gasped. "That is so..." he thought 'expensive,' but how do you put a price on a Demigod? How do you value the restoration of Greece? "Generous!" He smiled, pulling out his pouch. Socrates had left him a good amount of money...though this was still a good amount of it. As he counted, he heard the man's remark. Suddenly, he felt it again. 'The Demigod of Hera...is here?' He turned to see the boy, his mouth dropping a bit, 'And she is a he?!' Confused and happy (but mostly confused), Icarus grabbed the boy's hand and turned to the man, "He is with me! We want her together!" He said quickly, dropping at least five hundred silver into the man's hand. "I hope that's enough!" He was exclaiming quickly and left the man no time to answer as he pulled Hera's Demigod after him, giving him not a second to object, up the stairs and into the Demigod of Aphrodite's room, shutting the door behind him.

 

"I'll teach you fear!"​

Aside from realizing that every rumors the he'd heard about this place was true, Jayden being dragged along a blue hair boy who'd apparently came in before him. Okay. He thought right before the door closed. "So, any reason you dragged me along?" He asked seeing as it was only the three of them in the room.

 

"Ack!" He had tripped over a stone and fell, face-down, on the floor. He turned his head so that he was facing towards what looked like a brothel. "Oh great, I trip and this ends up in my face. Uugh..." He pushed himself up to one knee, weak from hunger, then got up to the other. He was standing up again, before sighing. Deciding to take a break, he walks over to the wall of the brothel and sits down, back leaning against the wall, and rests. "This is not what I wanted." He said to himself. Looking up to the sky, squinting because of the sun, he wondered. Would he really find his family? Would he find his locket? And most important of all...What would happen to him?

Aurora went about ignoring the man that insisted on showing her the town. She had made it a habit to refuse to learn the names of the suitors that came about. They weren't important since she never chose any of those men. He had taken her on a chariot ride into town and then a romantic walk through it. There was nothing romantic about the walk they were on. He had managed to drag her through the slums of Athens and nothing more appealing than homeless people and sex slaves. Somehow they ended up outside the brothel and she pursed her lips. "Why are we down this way? This is anything but lovely." Aurora watched his eyes linger to the brothel and she shook her head in disgust. "Leave me. If this is the way you spend your days, I want nothing to do with it."

He tried to protest, but she waved him off. It was no surprise when he walked away from her and headed straight into the building. Aurora looked around the grimy street in dismay. She walked around the building and noticed a young man sitting on the ground. He looked upset, or hungry. It was always hard to tell with men. She walked over to him, standing in his light and smiled. "Are you okay? I noticed your spill a minute ago." Aurora knelt down in front of him, still smiling. It was a relief to be rid of the pompous jerk that wanted to marry her.

 

Clover flicked her red eyes between the two boys. Of course he'd brought his friend to either join in or watch. People these days could be so sickening. In mear minutes as the door closed she'd undressed from what little clothing she'd had and knelt on the hard stone floor like a good little slave girl. Her purple hair fell around her, cascading around her shoulders and down to the floor like a curtain. She held her hands in front of her stomach, holding one wrist above a golden metal shackle. The same kind of shackles clinked around her ankles. "I've entertained nobles before....you don't have to pretend with me. I accept whatever your wishes may be. But if Estes has not told you already...you cannot damage my face, it would be bad for buisness."

Myrina carefully moved past the other leaders to follow Orpheus out. She smiled at his men, hoping they could come to trust her soon as with what they were about to attempt, trust was vital. She felt a little guilty that he was providing all the men and she wasn't but she couldn't. Well she had a team under her but they wouldn't be any help with what she was planning to do. They were achidemics, not fighters. She brushed her hair back as she listened to her new friend defend her. She'd made a good impression apparently, which she'd not really expected but she was very glad about.

However his next question almost made her burst out laughing, though she managed not to and remained calm, simply smiling at him. "Oh, don't worry, I'm stronger than I look." That was the truth even if it was a massive understatement. She didn't really understand why but she knew she was the strongest in this room, probably in Athens and maybe even wider than that. She'd gained this super strength several years ago randomly, it scared her half to death when it first appeared. Now she was more used to it but keeping it hidden was still an effort, it was amazing that she'd managed to keep it secret this long. She had no plans of showing her secret now, however much it felt like she could trust this guy. "I may be low on practical expirience but I work hard and I assure you I can hold my own. And it's fine, to be fair I really don't look much like a fighter, I can still pass for a child."

She grinned and walked over to the bookshelf, running her finger over the books before picking something out from between two books. Quickly moving over to the table, she set out spreading out the map of the city. "We have maps of the city ready in all our meeting houses, they're incredibly useful for planning." She explained as she looked over it, marking all their potential targets and assessing their attributes. She analysed it for a moment more before putting her finger down on a particular temple, "I suggest we go for this one, though obviously it's your choice."

 

He sat there, in endless daydreaming. He would find his locket...he would find his family...he would possibly overthrow the king and find someone whose heart was true, and was ready for the task to be king. He could do this...could he? He was doubting his abilities, for he was nothing more than a commoner in search of food, like a simple rat. Then, he started thinking. What if he really wasn't just a rat? He proved to himself that he had strange abilities...and it seemed that the temperature moved to his will. He decided to test it out.

Higher... The air around him heated up that he started to sweat. It was probably more than 70 degrees now. No no no! Lower The air then cooled rapidly, slowly starting to freeze him enough to make him shiver. Oh c'mon! Just make me feel in-between, not cold, not hot. The temperature returned to what it was before Poke decided to have some fun with it. So...I can do weird things. How...weirdly weird. Suddenly, all was dark. What happened to the sun...? He then realized that his head was still facing the sun, which was now blocked by what seemed like a woman.

'Are you okay? I noticed your spill a minute ago.' Poke didn't how to react, besides the fact that he could just say 'Oh sure, I'm fine, just using my awesome powers to mess around with the temperature!', but something told him that that would seem weird. "Uhh...Yeah, I'm okay, I guess. A bit hungry..." He slowly got up, dusting himself off. "My name's Poke." He held out his hand. Riight, like he'd actually travel around with her and become friends with a stranger. What were the chances of that?

Aurora took Poke's hand in her own, shaking it. "Aurora." She dropped his hand and pulled open a pouch she had hanging from her wrist. Her fingers wrapped around the handful of drachma and pulled them out. She counted how many were there and tossed them up into the air a bit. "Well, if you promise not to hurt me, i'll treat you to lunch. I'm a little hungry myself and no one is expecting me for some time." Aurora slipped the money back into the pouch, smiling. Everything was much better since she ditched that suitor. Since Poke wasn't trying to court her, she made sure to remember his name. It wasn't like it was a hard name to remember, small and simple. Spending a brief period of time was far more ideal than with that other man.

Aurora...Cool name. He thought to himself. He observed her movements, wondering why she was taking out some drachma. He found his answer when she spoke.

'Well, if you promise not to hurt me, I'll treat you to lunch.'

Treat me to lunch...? And at that moment, his stomach growled. Looking down at his stomach, he frowned. "Uhh..." He looked up, facing Aurora. Apparently, he was going to travel around with a stranger...for a little while. And Poke? Hurt anyone? Hah, like that would eve--okay, it's happened before, but it was in self defense. He smiled back and nodded, showing his agreement. "Alright! So, do you know a restaurant around here?"

Aurora's lips spread into an almost mischievous grin. "I'm sure I can find something. The agora isn't too far away." She turned in the direction of the market and gestured for Poke to follow after her. Getting there took no time at all. The streets were mostly empty where they were coming from. It appeared to thicken as they came closer to the market. Everyone was gathered around all the nearby stalls. She moved gracefully to the one that had been owned by her family. One of the men that worked in their fields was manning it today and nodded at her as she started picking at some grapes and strawberries. Aurora nodded back smiling and plopped a small grape in her mouth without paying. "Would you like one? They're the best in the city." She took a bite out of an extra large strawberry that was bright red and very sweet.
