Seeing Mya run for the bus, Akira soon followed being her. It seemed like the closer he got to the bus, the more gunshots were being fired. A couple of the bullets almost hit him but, he ignored the chances of being hit and kept his mind set on making it to the bus. Once he got in the bus, he moved out of the way for anyone else to get in. Glad that's over.

Xioimara could hardly hear Vanilla's voice through the shuffling of bodies. She did make out that she was leaving the premise. Xioimara knew she had to do the same. She finally managed to get a clear shot for a possible way to get through the hordes.

Xioimara aimed her gun and was pulled back by the grip of an undead. She screamed and turned, aiming her gun at the beast. Xioimara didn't think and just fired her last bullet at the beast. The shards and force of the gun hit her full on. Xioimara was thrown to ground from the force. Her ears rang. She couldn't see. Her heart hammered in her chest as pain exploded in her body. Xioimara screamed from the pain. Her arm was shattered from the force of recoil from her blunderbuss. Her vision started to clear from the pain as she recovered.

Red gushed over her vision and started to block her view. Xioimara went to wipe her eyes and broke out in another scream from the pain in her arms. She staggered to her feet. She had a clear exit from the force of that last bullet. Xioimara forced herself to run blindly through the hordes. Every fiber in her body screamed to escape. Xioimara had managed to lead herself back to the building she had been on earlier. She forced herself up the ladder with her somewhat good arm. She felt impossibly slow. Xioimara finally collapsed on the roof of the building.

She breathed heavily. Her blood ran cold. She was shivering. Xioimara finally managed to wipe the blood from her eyes. Her thoughts switched over to Vanilla. She had totally left Vanilla back there. Xioimara could feel the warmth of her blood pooling under her. There was no way in Hell she was going to die like this. She pulled herself to her legs. Slowly, but surely Xioimara limped towards the front of the building to try and catch a glimpse of Vanilla. Xioimara's legs gave out and she fell back down. She continued to shiver as darkness glazed over her vision. Her heart beat up against her ribcage. Xioimara inhaled.

"How will I ever escape this labyrinth of suffering!" Xioimara managed to scream as she exhaled. Her eyes widened as Xioimara felt the final thump in her chest.

    Her heart stopped.

Josielyn got to a vacant seat and sat. Wrapping her arms around her torso and shaking slightly; she didn't even notice she was until it was a bit too quiet but only for the sound of gunshots. Her stomach felt empty and warm; her throat slightly burning, she could feel bile within it as well. Jeeze, everything was a mess and chaotic. She looked around at the other survivors and then back down at her feet. At least she wasn't alone.
She felt her side bag for reassurance she had some stuff left with her, everything was there. Now all was left to do would to wait til the bus started. Then perhaps she'd speak to the other passengers. And ask someone if they have a spare weapon, like a Hockey stick, or something that she could swing, even a gun would work.

She folded the paper up and stuffed it into her bag with the others, sinking further in her spot as her eyes glazed over.

Her lips were chapped, eyes sunken in, hair frizzed and tangled. She probably looked like a mental institute patient, but the rest of the group didn't look any better. Even with the awestruck, deer-in-headlights look she had, she had managed to drink everyone in. The fact that she was surrounded by humans, not zombies, and that the screaming and fighting from earlier was fading into the distance, overpowered by the rumbling of the tires on the gravel beneath them. She was amazed that she had made it. That she was alive right now, heading to safety under the protection of the military.

She took a short glance at Jake, eye brows furrowing together. She still had no idea how he figured it out or where he had heard it from. It seemed like impulse to her. Either way, she sighed and rolled her eyes, leaning back into her uncomfortable seat and considering letting sleep take her.

Her body was stiff, fingertips curled around the hem of her torn uniform tight. Her knuckled were white, and her lip was bleeding from being chewed on so much over the course of the bus ride. She was shivering, and she couldn't tell if it was because she was cold, or because she was scared. Xioimara hadn't come back, and now they were riding away.

Was it her fault? Maybe she should have stayed behind, but she just... She just wanted to get out of the way right? It was an accident, right? She wasn't dead, right? She had just missed the bus, but she would catch another and everything would be just fine.

But somewhere in her gut, she knew this wasn't reality. It terrified her. That woman had saved her life, taken care of her. If it weren't for her...Vanilla would have been dead a long time ago. The small girl couldn't even register the fact that Mia was there, and part of her didn't want to. Her and that boy had completely abandoned her. Her arms wrapped tighter around herself, a small whimper leaving. It was too much now, and the tears began to flow.

He was scared shitless. No matter what his brave face and seemingly calm demeanor said. But crisis was right as his door and too him, he had no one to vent and let it all out too. He didn't want to put his thoughts and burdens on Rosalie. He didn't think they were strong enough as a team for that. So he did his best, kept his emotions under lock and key when he stopped praying. Because one thing would always keep him going. Hope. And now was the perfect time to pass it on. Especially one so young. With that thought, his eyes locked onto Vanilla. Normally Jake wouldn't have given her the time of day. But she didn't have anyone with her. Hell, no one was even sitting with her! Plus he'd always found that younger people treated him much less like a weirdo for his strange interests.

As this as his ignition, he stood up and tapped Rosalie's shoulder to get her attention, when he did, he gave her a hopeful smile and murmured he'd be right back. Hesitantly making his way down the aisle to the youngest girl on the bus. Shyly but surely draping his school jacket around her shoulders since what she was wearing had no shoulders at all. And he couldn't be sure, but she looked like shivering a tiny bit. "It'll be alright. As long as we don't give up hope. We'll aways be okay." Jake had no idea if this effected her or not, this little girl looked as if she'd lost something precious, and he just couldn't grasp that since he'd lost nothing..yet. With another encouraging smile on his face he asked her while sitting down in the seat in front of her, "How about I tell you a story?"

Mya rubbed her bandaged arm as she looked out the window. I hope we aren't the only survivors. She hugged her knees and buried her head in them. Please make this end. I want to go back to the life we enjoy. Is this a punishment from God? A bioterrorism attack? She sighed and dozed off to sleep.

Somehow Sammy had made it. By some miracle, she had made it through the horde or zombies being mowed down with machine gunfire without a single major wound. She got shaved a few times, but that's really minor. While running, however, she heard a large explosion somewhat nearby and saw a girl falling back obviously gravely wounded. Turning back towards the bus, she saw a little girl get in. Were they together? Uh-oh.... But she pushed that thought aside for now. As she continued to run, she saw two others get into the bus, a boy and a girl. She saw the girl wasn't nearly as lucky and had gotten shot in the arm. Well that's not good. Finally, Sammy herself made it aboard and slumped down in a nearby seat in relief. However, she didn't have long before her peace was disturbed by a gruff voice. "Pardon me, but that's the coat of a doctor. Are you a doctor?" Desperately trying not to sigh in annoyance, Sammy answered the soldier plainly. "Yes. I am a doctor." "Well great! We've got a few wounded." That girl with the arm. Quick fix. While Sammy bandaged the girl's arm she noticed the smaller girl from before. She looked so small and scared. But Sammy didn't feel quite motivated to say a few words to her. Besides, a boy beat her to it.

She was caught off guard by his voice, but her fright was soon replaced by embarrassment. Her small hands lifted up, wiping her eyes of tears. She scooted over a bit to make more room fro him on the uncomfortable brown seat. She wasn't sure if she was in the mood for a story, especially from this stranger, but she only shifted further and rubbed her eyes one more time with a sleepy sigh. She subconsciously shrugged further into the jacket he gave him with a flush of her cheeks. She shrugged a bit. The company was nice, but was it really the time for this?

The bus rumbled on. She could hear men talking in the front, making plans and discussing the possible routes. Occasionally, she could hear the crash of a zombie corpse into the side and front of the bus. It was terrifying, so she just closed her eyes and finally nodded.

"Yes, please." Maybe a story would help clear her mind.

Josielyn heard the voices of just about everyone chatting. She would join them but, there wasnt much to talk about, or she could bring herself to talk about. She yawned, and rubbed her eyes; jumping roofs was not so easy. Her scratches and bruises stung when she moved her calves, she looked around to find the officers occurpied with other things and the young woman decided she would ask later along with her other multiple questions. She slouched into the seat and closed her eyes after seeing a Zombie next to her window and than being passed.

He smiled easily and gently settled down on the bus cushion. Twisting half way to look at the younger girl. "Well, once upon time, in Britain! You know where that is? When that place was still all dragons and stone castles and kings and princesses and dukes and stuff. There was a knight that stood above all. He gazed into the girl's eyes to make sure his story wasn't going to be in vain. When he saw that it was not, he used his hands elaborately to drive his story home and make it more vivid for the little child.

It was only when the bus began to wobble and shake did he realize that something was going on. The grown ups were shouting at the driver; his story had to be cut short as the bus tilted on it's right, driving diagonally and precariously began to crash on the pavement. What Jake managed to do was wrap his arms around Vanilla and let himself crash into whatever they could possibly land into.

There was a sharp pain in his back that was slowly turning into a throb with his heart beat kind of thing but aside from that, he was fine, it was when the bus stop did he trust himself to speak to the Vanilla in his arms. "You alright..?" Of course he was concerned about her, still his other feeling was to stand up and check on his partner, Rosalie.

Mya quietly listened to the chatter, eventually dozing off to a nap until the bus wobbled and then crashed into the pavement. She then was thrown towards the other side of the bus with a good thud. She scratched her head and looked up groggily. Dear god what was all of that about? Man, being a grown up sucks. She got up into a sitting position and examined the situation.

The young woman gave out a scream when she felt the bus start to go on it's side wheels, then crash into the road. She shut her eyes and let tears roll out her eyes now; her heart stopping for a moment. Her breath labored and wavered once they had finally came to a halt. She opened her eyes and looked around, glass was everywhere. She got up and let the glass fall off her, though when she looked down she found that she had some brand new, small cuts on her legs and on her arms. "PEACHY!" She madly whispered; not wanting to attract Zombies.

Are you kidding me? Akira thought as the bus crashed. It seemed like nothing today was going well. First the whole zombie apocalyse mess, then the fact that his brothers blood is own his hands and now there best means to get out of here safely crashed. Getting up he looked around and saw broken glass pretty much everywhere. Now what are we supposed to do?

Awwww just great.... "All right, nobody move!" said Sammy in a somewhat loud voice. "Everyone check yourself for glass shards then move carefully to an exit." she said before doing the same, herself. She seemed fine and most everyone else did too besides some cuts from the glass with a few shards in their hair. As she tried to get to the front of the bus and ask what was up, she asked everyone she passed if they were all right. This included the boy that had shielded the little girl. "Hey man, are you all right? What about you, little miss?"

She was expecting to hear something snap, or feel something pierce, split or fracture. But she felt nothing. Nothing but warmth and the cushion of another body. She could hear moans and groans from all around her, but all she felt was safety and warmth. Her eyes opened after a moment, and she felt like she would be sick. The bus had swerved and crashed, and she and the boy were only two of those thrown into the side of the bus on impact. She heard another voice, one she recognized as the doctor telling them to stay still and not move; and she very willingly obliged.

She felt she was going to die today. Everything was happening too fast, and too frantically. The apocalypse, the crash, her parents, Xioimara... She shuddered and found herself clutching harder to the boy before her, a shaky groan leaving her as she nodded her aching head at the doctors voice, turning her body towards her. She looked friendly, and genuinely nurturing, so it it warmed her spirit that she took the time to check on them.

The first thing she found herself looking for was her pack. Her head was pounding, body trembling. She could feel that her cheek was cut, so she wiped the blood away and hoped quietly that they weren't attracted to the sound. Her mind was panicked so she took a moment to attempt remedying that before forcing herself up with a shake and a shiver, her fingers stretched out no where in particular in search for her only—and treasured possession. Her bag not only held food, but it held her letters, as always, and those were the something she couldn't lose.

Her mind flickered to Jake for a moment, but the thought was whited-out by her previous desire. My bag. She saw that she had been forced to the complete other side of the bus as it crashed, the windows shattered and open. It was dark now, the moon out and illuminating the space. It seemed they were on a plain, abandoned road, but she could see a building in the distance. She recognized it as the mall in the town over. How long had we been driving?

Along with these things being illuminated, she could also see what she assumed had caused the bus to crash. A giant road block was before them, compiled of hundreds of ordinary cars; abandoned, but belonging to regular citizens. Some of the cars were smoking, others on fire. It was then that she noticed the cracks in the pavement themselves, and the compete destruction of the nature around it. The sound of helicopters in the far distance confirmed it for her. The military was very involved.

It was then that she wondered if this entire rescue mission had possible been false. Maybe they were just going to blow the entire place. She almost let this thought consume her, but then something caught her eye. Her bag had managed to drop outside from the open shattered window she was flung into. The contents were scattered on the black pavement. With a new-found urgency, she pushed her way to the front of the bus, ignoring the other's protest and begin to make her way out of the busted double doors.

A strange feeling creeping up inside of her as she made her way towards the front of the bus, and the loud snarl that followed after stopped her dead in her tracks. Her dim ruby eyes grew wide with fear. All at once, she took in a man's sunken in face, drooling mouth, and a large slash in his uniform—it looked old; then she registered that the second driver, it seemed, was leaking a fresh new wound in his neck; a new wound this first man seemed to find delicious.

“Shit.†She whispered, taking a step back. The first man had been bitten, probably during the last confrontation at the school, ignored it, and had wasted no time beginning to devour the second soldier as soon as he turned. He was infected, did nothing about it, and is now eating a soldier. Ah. So that's why they crashed.

Rosalie was in the back of the bus in seconds, trembling and sick. Her eyes glazed over and she looked at the rest of them, not sure what words to say. She was looking for emergency exits, luckily finding two. One was at the top of the bus, and one was at the very back. Good. Calm and collectively, she brought herself to the easiest exit and tugged on the door to push it open. They had to get out. Panic was beginning to rise in the form of a lump in her throat, preventing her from saying anything other than profanities as she rammed her body into the back door. She must have looked insane.

Or not. Because as soon as it heard the loud thud of her body against the back of the bus, the zombie—or, rather, zombies in the front of the bus stopped their munching (and/or dying) and turned their attention to her and the other students.

                “Shit, shit, shit. Help.â€

Mya stood up and headed towards an emergency exit when she head one of them slammed on. Her first instinct was that a zombie was trying to get in and pulled her gun out. She then realized it couldn't be as zombies out the window seem to fix their attention to the door that was banging. Not to mention a lot of profanity shouting from the outside. Hold on! She pulled on the exit door and pried it open, dragging Rosalie in.

Since they were on the side that collided with the ground, the throbbing in his back was caused by the glass shard that ripped through his shirt and created a slash across his lower back that wasn't deep, but bled a bit none the less. He sighed in relief, the little one didn't have a scratch on her. His bat was with Rosalie and he could tell that moaning that was coming from the front at any time. Then there was the thump. The thump that sounded deafening even after the noise of being in a car crash still reverberated in his ears.

He got up and saw that the only thing that separated them from the zombies were the distance they were in their seats. "You're blocking the aisle!" he pointed out bluntly to the older woman, glancing backwards towards the door, "Get that door open! She can't do it herself. I'll hold them off but they'll over power me soon. Hurry!" He shoved the little girl onto her feet and into the aisle. Shoveling her and the nurse to the back of the bus and with his additional he dropped to his feet, ignoring the pain it brought to his back as he curled his fingers around the tough straps that encircled his bat's lower half. With a grin and a tilt of his head, he stood up straight and prepared himself for the homerun's that were about to begin.

Josielyn felt her heart speed, her anxiety heighten, her body shake and her palms get sweaty. Not more Zombies. She looked up to the top Emergency Exit. "We should exit on top! T-There might be left over guns."she said to the others. She needed a gun for now, and perhaps get a Hockey Stick for backup, in case the gun ran out of bullets. And the Zombies couldn't climb....Could they? Not this high!

"Hey wait a second! You're wounded- ah...tch, don't throw away your life so soon, 'Hero'" hissed Sammy to Jake. The kid was a bit too reckless for her tastes. Especially the foolish girl that had alerted the hord slamming into the emergency exit out back. "You fool, use your brain and calm down. The door's obviously not busted so try and open it gently yeah?" Actually...why is she so panicked? Sure we crashed but- It was then Sammy heard a disturbing sound behind her that made her freeze. Her eyes wide, she didn't want to look behind her or move at all. Her grip tightened on the little girl now in her care. Wait, why did that boy get up so quickly with a weapon? Taking a breath, Sammy calmed down again and understood that danger was in close vicinity, not just outside of the bus. "All right come on," she said softly to the girl as she dragged her quickly to the back of the bus. The girl was still trying to get it open and Sammy couldn't figure out why it was opening. They couldn't have possibly built it to open inwards would they? This small thought popped into her head. Most times she would ignore such thoughts, but this time she decided not to doubt it and just try. "Hang on a sec. Hng!" Sammy pulled back on the door.

Great, just great. Now what're we supposed to do? Akira thought seeing that the driver and other had become zombies. Think man think, gotta find some way to help. He reached into the pack he had gotten from his brother for any thing that could be of use. It wasn't long before he found a knife. "It'll work but..." He said closing the bag and gripping the knife tightly. He wasn't going to attack the zombies head on, that'll get him killed. Instead he'll use it if one of them got to close for comfort for his taste.
