Zack gasped, and had no time to think as he ran up and hit the zombie as though he were hitting a baseball, making it stumble to the side for a second. Zack grinned wildly, whacking the zombie again as he picked up the baseball bat and held the handle out for the other boy, watching the zombie completely still. He took deep breaths, his strength lessening from hitting so hard so many times with a golf club.

Xioimara turned to watch the two drive off. She didn't even get to say goodbye to her mom. She shook in shock. Tears started to well in her eyes. She heard stumbling behind her. Xioimara unfroze and turned to see who it was. One of the monsters. Xioimara didn't think and just acted on instinct. She took the butt of the gun and bashed it into its head. It grabbed her wrist. The monster stared dryly at Xioimara's face. Xioimara stared back. She shook with rage. Xioimara whipped the creature across the face with her gun. It let go and fell down to the ground. She stared at it with disgust.

Xioimara grabbed her helmet. She placed her weapon back in her bandoleer. She started her motorcycle. The undead that roamed the parking lot turned to her attention as the engine started. Xioimara wasn't quite sure where she was going to go yet. The bunkers were really far. She didn't have enough gas to get there nor any money to get gas. Xioimara could see the elementary school in the distance. She could barley hear the panic that was arising in the playground. She wondered if she could do anything to help. Xioimara doubted it. She wasn't nearly skilled enough to shoot that gun yet. She didn't even want to think about trying it while on the motorcycle. She was terrified to stop moving now.

Xioimara took off on her bike. She drove out of the parking lot. She avoided the hordes of undead when she could but other than that she got lucky enough to swerve through them. Xioimara was pretty sure the adrenaline that coursed through her body was helping her think faster and navigate easier. Xioimara looked over at the elementary school as she drove by. She felt her heart sink. The undead were like vultures at a fresh caracass. Her thoughts swam in and out of her head. There had to be survivors at the elementary school. Just had to. Xioimara's will took over. She headed towards a series of small buildings that were across the elementary school. The undead were nearly none over here. With deep fear she parked her bike once she found an escape route. She headed up to one of the building and climbed up one of the fire escapes to the top.

Xioimara arrived at the top of the roof. It was a flat roof. Xioimara walked to the front of the roof. She looked at the elementary school. The hordes were surrounding the gates. She wondered, if maybe she could clear it for at least some of the students and teachers to escape. Xioimara shakily pulled out her blunderbuss. She had no idea how to use this thing. However, she did know that the sound would attract the undead to where she was. She didn't really care though. Her family was gone. Everybody she knew was just dead. She narrowed her eyes as she aimed for any exits that the hordes occupied.

Xioimara took a deep breath and shut her eyes. She stood there for a few moments. She felt like she was spinning. She felt like the whole world would just collapse under her feet. Xioimara opened her eyes. She fired. The gun echoed a crack. The shock through Xioimara back. She fell onto her back. Her arm burned but it was brushed aside by adrenaline and fear. Xioimara crawled forward to see if she hit anything. There was blood where she fired and the swarm that she aimed at had simply disappeared. Xioimara shook. That one shot had blown up the zombies. Xioimara reached for her gun and waited to see if anyone was going to try and make a break for it. Xioimara knew she had to be careful though. She only had four bullets left and then she was out unless she could find some redead zombies. Xioimara watched everyone in the playground. A few of the undead had turned their attention towards Xioimara's building.

Eddy grabbed the handle and pulled himself up. He panted for a while, wiping his forehead. "Thanks, kid." Eddy said, grinning. "Leave the rest to me." Eddy strode over to his bat and picked it up. "Damn... dirty... zombies." he said. He walked slowly to the zombie on the ground and raised the bat over his head. "Bye." he laughed, smashing the bat down. Blood splattered over it, and onto Eddy's clothes. A gaping hole was in the side of the zombie, and blood dripped out, soaking the pavement. Eddy grinned and slung the bat over his shoulder. "That was fun." he said, walking back towards the kid. "Thanks for the help, buddy. My name's Eddy." he said. "Now- I've gotta go. I'll be in my car. You need some transportation?"

Zack looked around at the mess around him, then at the pool of blood on the ground. He grinned, scratching the back of his hand with his free hand, "Name's Zack. And..uhm..yeah I need some transportation.." he said, looking down at his teachers golf club, now soaked with blood. Or else I'll be zombie food next.

Without thinking of the fact that he had managed to get this far without running into a zombie, Akira continued to head towards the school gate. About halfway across the school he notice two people close to the gate, a 10 year old girl and another one that looks like they would be in the same grade. The closer he got, the more sure he was that they weren't infected. When he got close enough that they would hear him if he said something he finally did. "Glad to see i'm not the only one who got out of the school."

OOC: I want to point out that at some point, all of us will have to meet up. No one can go to the next location alone, so. You guys can go to your homes, check on your families, but eventually in order to move onto the next "level" (the mall, after the school), we all have to be together and have met.

    Also, sorry heartless_angel. xD;;

                “V-Vanilla.â€

The ten-year-old flinched, hearing another voice to the right of her and bumping back into Mya with a squeak. She could hear the words being said, but she was having a hard time registering them. It felt as though they were all speaking a different language. A sticker one, a messier one. One she didn't care much about learning. Her head was pounding, and her heart beat was thrumming loudly in her skull.

Her eyes darted between the two, the boy and the girl, her breathing shaky as she tried to grasp what was happening. Then, suddenly, the first rational thought since the incident formed in her head. Her parents. Her family. Her chest felt tight, her stomach swirling with worry before she broke away from Mya, bowing her head in a small apology before taking off in a long sprint.

She could hear screams and growls coming from all sides of her, but the creatures and the students began to meld together, tears blurring the edges of her vision as her own throat tightening in a yell. A call for help, repeating over and over, connected by a bridge of 'mommy's and 'daddy's. Names being screamed over and over, little legs running faster and faster. She had to get home, some way, some how.

After reaching the Cafeteria, Rosalie took a deep breath to regain herself and leaned up against a wall. The barely bloody metal bar hit the ground with a loud clank, her heart pounding in her chest before she suddenly tensed up again. For a moment, Rosalie thought there were even more zombies, but there were a few students here. Most of them yelling at each other about barricading themselves inside.

Windows were being covered, locked. Doors were being chained and covered by lunch-tables, anything heavy to be found.

As soon as she took a step forward, she heard a female voice calling from the same hall she had just come from. After a moment, a male voice joined her. Feeling obligated to be of some assistance, she stood in the archway of the cafeteria, peeking her head out from behind a long row of lockers as she waved her arms down the hall, motioning for the two to join her without making much else noise. Once she was sure one of them had to have seen her, she nodded and re-entered the cafeteria.

Slowly, Rosalie detached herself from the group and went back to her book bag, crouching down and starting to pull all of the folders and school books out and onto the floor until the bag was empty with the exception of her letters and phone. She stood and walked past a few more students, being the first to walk through the short metal arches to the back of the kitchen. She knew she probably wouldn’t be lucky enough to find some hot food ready and packaged up, but she started to grab what she could. Milk, packaged rolls, carrots and fruits, apple sauce, oranges, raisins, anything she could find and fit into her bag.

She was even tempted to start busting the glass of the vending machines, even though it would make her look crazy. The only reason she didn’t was in fear that it would attract even more of them then the already probably had. Rosalie noticed that a few other students were starting to do the same thing she had done. She tied up her bag and exited the kitchen area, setting the bag down by her discarded books and sighing out heavily, not quite sure what to say other than that she agreed that they shouldn’t be here for too much longer.

Mya's eyes darted from the mysterious boy to Vanilla. Once she ran off, Mya called out after her. No Vanilla! Come back! She sighed. She then turned back to the boy. We'll skip intoductions later. For now, we need to go after her. Fortunatly, she's headed in the same direction to where or house is. Cmon! Without his answer, she grabbed his arm and dragged him along. She didn't know why she cared so much about Vanilla. Maybe it's because she's innocent and didn't want her to die in a horrible way. She didn't care. She picked up a broken metal bar, ready to use if things got hairy.

Akira barely had time to respond to her before he was tugged along, looking for Vanilla. After the girl tugging his arm grab the broken piece of metal, he managed to get his arm free and continued running. "Man, where did she go." He thought to himself as him continued to run, based what his brother had told him among other things was that the last thing you want to do is go off on your own. "Any idea why she would run off like that?"

The whole thing was a rush. First he figured people would barricade themselves if they didn't trample and kill each other first. So he went to the first biggest building the school had that could fit alot of people. The Gymnasium. Empty, except for the few zombies milling about, looking for a human or an exit. A discarded comBAT would be his weapon of choice, one it was nearest and two it was nearest. So he grabbed it and jetted out of there before he could be seen. His next bet would be the cafeteria. So he sped past people and zombies alike, not stopping to save anyone but those who looked like they would be able to get out alive and unaffected. When they were free they seemed to follow him like sheep, so he led them the safest way he saw how to the cafeteria. Which was thankfully on the ground floor, instead of upstairs like the library. Luckily despite the massive barricading happening, they were admitted in for a fee of ten dollars from Jake's own pocket. He glared at the weasel faced ******* that would take money at such a time. He the people he'd rescued fled to their own clique's and friends. Jake, being the quiet guy that didn't speak to anyone unless he was spoken too didn't have any best friends, let alone friends. So he plopped himself down next to a pretty brunette with piercing red eyes. Quietly he began to inspect the blood that dripped slowly from his steel bat. In moments it was wiped off in the restrooms attached to the cafeteria. Sighing he resumed his spot and listened to the chaos. It appeared the few teachers that were here couldn't restore any sort of control. No one knows what the hell they're doing..

Mya sighed and stopped. It's hopeless. We've completely lost her. Let's stop by my home for now. She opened the door and led Akira in and then shutting the door with a metal bar clamped on it so I couldn't be broken down. She also closed the window blinds. She grabbed a bag and opened her cabinet, stuffing canned food in it. Do me a favor and grab another bag will you? Fill it up with food.

Xioimara sighed with a bit of frustration. She had to get off the building and get out before it would be too late. Xioimara watched as the diseased humans dragged themselves towards her. One of them took the initial to try and run. More of a hobble. Xioimara looked out to make sure there wasn't any human stragglers. Xioimara stared out for a few seconds as she watched a small girl running. It didn't quite register for those few moments that it was a human quite capable of thinking. She looked very young. 'What is she doing?' Xioimara wondered. Reality started to come back to Xioimara. That girl is in danger.

Xioimara stood up and ran to the fire escape. She rapidly climbed down and headed for her bike. Xioimara put her helmet on and hurridly tried to get her bike to start. She was slightly in panic mode due to the small onslaught of hordes heading towards her. Her motorcycle started. Xioimara reved her engine. She took off trying to avoid the horde and find that girl. This was still a nightmare. Everything was happening way too fast for her to process. Xioimara spotted the girl running. She hoped that the girl would hear her coming. The last thing Xioimara needed or for that matter wanted was a screaming child.

As Xioimara became near to the girl, she hastily stopped her bike in front of the girl. She reached out to the child. "Let me help you." Xioimara tried to be friendly. She knew if she was a child the thing that would be racing through her mind was stranger danger and to just keep running. Xioimara hoped that the young girl would be different.

"Sure." Akira said going to get a bag. Once he got the bag, he began to fill it with food and anything else they were going to need. "Wonder if my brother made it to the bunker he made." He thought grabbing the bag. When he came back to the living room, he took a look at the broken metal bar. "You have anything I can use as a weapon?"

Hearing the mechanical rev of her bike, Vanilla flinched. Her eyes momentarily focusing on the girl, body stilling for a moment as she analyzed the situation. This girl, she was human, like her. Obviously not one of the monsters roaming about. And she had a vehicle, something that could provide speed to her purpose. With a shift and a press of her lips, she nodded slowly. Agreeing to accept her help, if only to find her family.

                “Alright...T-thank you...â€

Jake's head turned from left to right surveying the crap happening around him. The collasal mixture of crying, shouting, arguing, reasoning, calming and the drone of the T.V. coming together to deafen him into a stupor. With a stroke of fustration and the urge to get something done he turned to the girl nearest him, the piercing red eyed one. "Hey, I'm Jake, you don't know me and I don't know you, but throughout this, you think we should stick together?"

Mya opened a closet and tossed a handgun to him, with a box of ammo. Try not to shoot. It'll attract the zombies. She also handed him a combat knife. She also equiped them to herself. She handed him a flashlight. Things got real. Just when it couldn't...I still can't grasp on what just happened...the kids...teens...everyone.

Xioimara helped pull the girl onto the motorcycle. Xioimara took off her helmet and gave it to the girl. She looked around at the undead. "Hold on." Xioimara said. She got out of there as fast as possible. She needed to find some place they could stop. Xioimara wanted to know at least the child's name. She made her way to a less populated area of zombies. Xioimara thought it was kind of funny. There was never this many people around in the streets during the day. Why did it seem like the town's population had suddenly increased with all these undead?

Xioimara turned off onto a lesser populated street. The street had only a few houses from what she knew. Xioimara figured it would be of little attention to the undead. Xioimara slowed down on the bike as the went down the street. She didn't see any undead. Xioimara stopped the bike. She exhaled heavily. "My name is Xioimara. What's yours?" She asked. 'We need to find others...' Xioimara looked at the girl. "Would your mom and dad be home at this time?"

“M-my name is Vanilla Pierce…†Her vision was blurred with tears so she lifted a small hand and wiped them away with the back of it and a deep shaky breath. Tearfully, she thanked Xioimara for the help. Most cars were left abandoned by now, and down some streets there was absolute panic. Down others, it seemed as though they resided in a ghost town. Makeshift weapons lay disregarded on the pavements, blood splatter coloring the asphalt. The girl tried to ignore these sights as best as she could, focusing on the tall white house in the distance.

As soon as they pulled near it enough, Vani’s hands pressed against the window, her eyes glued to the wide-open front door of her house.

She took off running as soon as the heel of her left shoe touched the cold, wet ground. The rain was abnormally comforting considering the hot blood pumping through her veins. She nearly slipped.

The small girl ran through the front door, breathing hard and looking to her left and right. She felt a tinge of fear shoot up her spine, but ignored it and started up the staircase in front of her, hearing a sound from upstairs.

“Mommy! Daddy…?†As Vanilla traveled up the stairs, she began to notice some things out of place. Firstly, all of the pictures that hung up on the wall left of her were shattered, fallen on the steps. Besides that, there was a sticky crimson substance on the railing to her right that luckily she hadn’t had her hand on. Her body was trembling again, and her chest felt so tight it was hard for her to breathe. “Please…â€

Her voice lowered in volume and broke with her plea, her feet resting grounded on the top of the steps. The door to the right was open just a crack, and she could see two shadows upon it. They were breathing slowly, rummaging, groaning. Vani nearly froze, starting to stiffly move back before she noticed something. It was a familiar jingle sound, as one of the shadows suddenly froze at the sound of a creak Vani had produced. The jingle belonged to a chain-bracelet that Vani had gotten her mother for her birthday two years ago. This nearly drove the poor little girl out of her mind with dread, her feet moving her towards the shadows uncontrollably.

She was drawn to the shadows.
                To the blood.
                To the jingling of trinkets.
                Like a magnet.

She glanced at Jake before bringing her attention back down to her pack, arranging and fitting in the food neatly before closing it. Once she pulled herself up, she sighed gently and pushed some hair from her face. With a shrug and a quick look at the others she shifted, pulling herself up with her bag.

“I think that would be best. It'd be easier to fight them off, if we were team.â€

Eddy smirked at the kid. "Alright, let's drive." He swung upon his car doors and ushered Zack into the shotgun position. Eddy slid into the driver's seat and placed the car in reverse. He pulled his lighter out of the glove compartment and lit a cigarette. He placed it in his mouth and glanced sideways at Zack. "Do you mind if I smoke?" he asked, turning the car around and driving towards the school exit. Eddy paid no attention to whatever Zack said, as he saw movement off towards their right. Eddy swore and stuck his head out the window, peering in their direction. He raised an eyebrow in surprise. Instead of zombies, it seemed to be a small group of kids. Eddy turned to Zack. "We're going to make a quick detour." he said, already driving towards them.

"Thanks." Akira said placing all of the supplies in the bag. He loaded the gun and placed in in a different place that all of the other things. The last thing he wanted was for it to go off while they where walking."Yeah...the worst thing about it was that not many people were prepared for this and the few that kept preaching about this probably weren't prepared for survival." He said as the thought of his brother came back to him who was probably hiding in the bunker waiting for him, but he had to be sure. "You mind if we stop by my place for a second, there's something I have to check."

Mya nodded. Sure. Your house it is. Let me make some final inspections. She took a family photo with her. She knew she wasn't coming back home. Her father went hunting. Probably dead or worse, one of them. Her mother died anyways when she was only 5. She really had nothing to love on. She rubbed her eyes and shoved the photo on her bag. Right. Lead the way.
