I'm taking it as "Sandbox" mode for the moment. Normal players will know there's elements in every game that we can basically operate from. Towns, Shops, Gyms, the Wild, etc etc etc...

I mean, I just had my three characters live in a random, unnamed town and went from there to tell a story; and Myst liked that post. From that, I can gather we have just a bit of free reign as long as our scenarios make sense.

"WATCH IT WITH THE FLAMETHROWER, WILL YOU?!?!" Evie had to duck her head to avoid a river of flame spewing from Flarabelle's mouth. Evie was just rising as the flames died down and were punctuated by a drunken, meek "urp... scuze me..." Evie sighed exasperatedly as she took the sake set up in hand, cleared the kitchen table of empty bottles, and wiped up spills. Luckily, they lived in an apartment where the walls were fire-proof---Evie was always glad she'd had that foresight---, but this was the third time in the month that she'd walked out from the hallway to almost be scorched by a blast of sake-fueled belching. Evie's brown eyes were pulsing with intense rage as she dumped the glass in the sink and the empty bottles in the recycling bin.

"Do...t... spucha spoill pert..." Flarabelle was ten sheets to the wind and barely conscious enough to speak before her pretty face splatted into the wooden table with a thunk and her red locks flopped around her clogged noggin. Evie moved closer ever so carefully, and was relieved when she heard the sound of impossibly loud snoring. She shook her own head and took her older, larger sister over her shoulder in a fireman's lift and adjusted for the extra weight before she made the usual journey from the kitchen table to Flarabelle's bedroom. The elder sister was draped onto her bed and tucked in with her head at an angle and tilted so that anything else that wasn't fire wouldn't almost asphyxiate her like it had once when Evie was younger. Taking care of her sibling, Evie rubbed her sore back and shoulders; Flarabelle was skinny, save for the rather obvious reserves in the spots Evie lacked, but she was harder to carry than she looked. "You sound like a sleeping Snorlax, you know that, right?" Evie took a jab at her sister's obtrusive noises that were, indeed, not too far off from a sleeping Snorlax's. Of course, Flarabelle couldn't hear her. The lights were out, and it was about time Evie would make her rounds at the shops to pick up the groceries they would need... maybe she'd play Caretaker and not buy anymore Sake, but... it was pointless.

Flarabelle would lose another audition somewhere eventually, and the process of the moment would repeat itself all over again one way or another. It not only pained her to see her that way, but it broke her heart and confused her too. Flarabelle had always been so talented---Self-centered, arrogant, and a diva to put all others to shame, but talented---, yet could number her jobs within the past year on one hand and mirror the sum on the other for how many times she'd been fired.

Evie took a solemn, reflective moment to look down at her pitiable sister. This proved to be disastrous however, as a sudden eruption of blame (burped flamed) caught her tail on fire and sent her running out of the house to douse the flame. Grumbling all the way back to the door, she locked the door for her sister's safety and own good before taking the road in town towards the grocery store.

She never saw the shadow from across the street descend upon the locked door and crush the handle to pull it out of the metal doorway with the lock attached. Evie never heard a thing as Tria broke into her home.

    Pokemon Gijinka: Mightyena
    Nickname: Tria
Favorite Moves: Strength, Thief, Sucker Punch, Dark Pulse
Nature: Crime is her life, her rush. Crossing her unleashes her powerful temper, and she has a very easy to cross nature. She has an intidmidating air constantly about her, and she seems amicable most of the time, but this is to woo her intended targets and she treats her family and allies with the utmost respect...unless they cross her, then she is especially cruel.
    Age: Same as Dyo
Bio: When Dyo left the pack, Tria had tried to do everything to stop him. When she failed, she swore she'd bring him back. When he became a detective, she decided the traitor must pay... at any cost. She's never been above picking victims that would lead Dyo right to her, but despite skirmishes in the past, she's failed since to exact her revenge. She's followed him and baited him in a game of chess that has cost other Pokemon their lives, but even as her endeavors do not succeed, her riches grow. Using her mob influence and monetary powers, there's few hurdles she can't jump.
    Image: Left
Other: She is psychotic. She will literally eat another Pokemon raw, but will also cook them Hannibal-Style. She can move boulders using Strength, and her prodigious strength allows her to break bones and compact pliable metals with relative ease.

Geez, Knight, you can really overreact sometimes. Seriously though, newcomer, I should politely reccommend his work as well. You'll find him in the Original section, to where I rarely venture with my own, safely guarded work in tow. Yes, so safely guarded, I dare not yet even put it on paper lest someone steal my ideas. Wellllll, no, not paranoid, just, I reiterate, lazy. Here's where I would sigh heavily with disdain.

Allot, allot, allot. Welcome to the forum. If you dig decent fanfictions, I suggest mine. If you prefer okay fanfictions, then I suggest the work of the good fellow above me. Well, let's not argue over who's the better writer, but instead focus on who's less lazy than the other and gets their work actually don- oh crap, I'm the lazy one. Either way, I have yet to hear any complaints in the Writer's Nook for either of our stories, as the Writer's Nook is a pretty positive place for judgement and enjoyment.

Another spot you may enjoy would likely be the Role Play Arena, as a writer. We could always use fresh players and fresh ideas.

    Welcome to the forums!

    Pokemon Gijinka: Flareon
    Nickname: Flarabelle
Favorite Moves: Return (Powered by how much she loves herself), Attract, Flame Thrower, and Rest
Nature: A Southern Belle who suffers from delusions of grandeur and is quite a narcissist. She dreams of being in beauty paegants and grand screen productions. She sings wonderfully, but overacts and often overREACTS.
    Age: 23
    Image: Flarabelle
Other: She likes her drinks and has no shortage of worldly vices. Previously known as Evana.

    Pokemon Gijinka: Eevee
    Nickname: Evie
Favorite Moves: Charm, Shadow Ball, Detect, and Tickle
Nature: Level headed and rational, she keeps her older sister in check and is a bit of a tough nut. She can carry her sister out of a tavern rather easily, after brutally wiping out the Blastoise that tried to take advantage of Flarabelle once. Once. She's tough, fearless, and great at math, strategy, reading, science, art, and history. She's the academic to Flarabelle's dreamy airhead.
    Age: 14
    Image: Evie
Other: Found the stone Flarabelle evolved with, and intended to evolve into a Flareon with it, but it was stolen by her selfish sister. Now, she aims to evolve into a Vaporeon to teach her sister a lesson. (I'd appreciate it if you let me evolve her for plot purposes eventually, but it is not needed.)

And for the love of everything good in the world, please let Beucedoof in. I can swear that Beuce is being serious, and he is fully capable of portraying him with grace and artistry. Plus, you don't see a lot of Pokemon like that in Roleplays. Everyone goes for Ralts, Eevee (Guilty), or the main starters from the games. Stuff like that. Beucedoof is a National Treasure and deserves his spot amongst the ranks of Pokemon Warriors. (Exits with "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah" playing softly in the background)

Mitch Ailsing fixed his cufflink meticulously as he waited for the arrival of the ones he'd sent the advertisement out about. He stood on an elevated platform, looking out into the green foliage that surrounded the platform of concrete and paced near the stairway that led down into a path that led down to a road. No one had yet been down the backroad to reach the path that led to the elevated platform, but Mitch stayed hopeful that someone was bound to take up the offer. WWD was in the spotlight and had been the subject of urban myth for years before it ever truly broke ground on the worlds Mitch himself oversaw the creations of as Head Imagineer and Park Manager. It was a major responsibility, and it took all of his great reserves of calm to maintain a cool composure. He was such a man that was known to be so cool-headed. Never cold, but he was collected, with a smile nearly always complacently located undenearth and above the thick whiskers he grew on his face. He ran his fingers through his short, black hair and looked at the time. The Monorail would be coming along the track any moment, the whole purpose of the platform was to serve as a passenger waiting and loading dock, to bring him back to one of the many parks experiencing the same sorts of problems that made him put the advertisement out in the first place.

He inhaled the bitterlysweet early morning air as he paced and thought again and again about how if no one showed up, then the whole endeavor of the Wonderful World of Disney was doomed to failure... and given what the problem was, he wasn't quite sure anywhere else was safe either. Someone had to show up, he hoped, as the Monorail could be heard pulling swiftly into the track behind him. It was a truly sleek marvel, mostly white with a thin strip of purple running across its sides and doors. As the doors pulled open, he desperately hope he wouldn't be boarding alone. He bit hard and gritted his teeth and scanned the distance. “Please, please, please... this is my life's work...” He whispered softly to the wind.

    Disney Castle Dungeon

Prompted by the sound of flute, the book made a slight tremor on its stand that steadily grew into a full out shake. It raised in velocity so quickly that nothing could be done before the shaking began to crumble the age old stone flooring to rubble beneath feet and stand that plunged. Smoke erupted from the book in a foggy mess that preceded all in the room falling into a dark abyss a few feet down with a great splash as the floor gave out. Not a sight could be seen, but a snake's hiss could be heard.

“Whoooo hasssssss releasssssssssed meeeeeeeeeee...?” Called the voice. The voice did not wait for an answer to repeat itself angrily. “WHO HAS RELEASED ME!” Just as the tension threatened to break dangerously, the sound of fingers snapping accompanied the soft glow of softly vibrating orbs in the palm of a lit hand that was not Anadi's. The fingers were long and thick, with thick hair on the back of the hand and even across the knuckles; the knuckles of someone who'd had them broken many times before. The hand raised itself to illuminate a face. “Because I really would just like to say thanks.” It was a stern, solemn face with a humorless stare from two heavily-lidded hazel eyes on a face cloaked mostly in a thick, black beard underneath neatly cut black hair on his Noble head. He cast out the small orbs to light up the room and revealed an even deeper, watery prison coated in pieces of what was previously the ceiling. The man rolled back the sleeves of his fine suit jacket, despite the fact he was ankle deep in the murky water and his suit pants seemed to be of the same fine make as the rest of his sharp attire. “I'm assuming you had no idea what you were doing when you did it. I doubt anyone will hold you accountable... not like anything read “Dare not play, ye who wish to stay, safely kept inside this tome, a danger known to all worlds and home. Time and Measure keep the pace, to save the people of every race. Careful ye who play the notes, for inside it's he who gloats: No use of sword nor use of axe, may keep you safe from the No One, Sebax.” He picked up the book he'd been referring to, and the one Anadi had released him from, and showed her the exact passage in the book that gave the very same warning on the page before the musical composition. He gave her time enough only to see it briefly and closed the book before lowering his hands to his side, giving a nod, and dissipating with the sound of bats fluttering and screeching as he vanished.

    Rules Index

    Etiquette

    1. No cursing. You're in Disney World. "Hell" is probably the only word that's generally considered profanity you can use, because it has been used in Disney films. Animated Disney films. Please, don't argue with me on this, and please don't just do it anyway. If you can justify the usage of a word by it being in one of these Full-Length Feature Films, then I'll let it fly. And no, the Urban legends about Aladdin wanting Teenagers to take off their clothes, "SEX" blowing in Lion King's wind, and unverifiable stuff like that doesn't count.
    2. No god-moding and no powerplay. Those are give-ins. They're even more applicabe here, because there's really no reason for you to take over someone else's character, given the points stressed on individual adventures.
    3. Like the Genie in "Aladdin", you can't kill anyone. ERK So don't ask. Sure, you defeat bosses, but go light on that finishing move, because:
    4. No blood. No gashes or dismemberment. No blood. Why? Because the RP involves combat, yes, and your character is going to get hurt themselves at some point. Being bloodied up makes them constantly a potential risk not only for them, but also tends to make things pretty cliched and darker than they need to be. That is my major grievance. The overflow. Characters can get hurt, just don't overdo it.
    5. Romantic relationships are permitted between players. Flirting is allowed with other characters, but don't expect much to come of it. People flirt with the characters at Disney all the time. But, dude, it's not a rule, per say, but come on, don't be that creepy guy that hits on Pinocchio or something. What are you thinking? Not only is he made of wood, but he's a minor made of wood. If both or either of those interest you, I (don't judge, but still) suggest some possible mental evaluation.
    6. Nobody says your characters have to get along, but the players must. If you cannot talk amicably with others or settle disagreements by yourselves, I will respond by kicking you from the game. Not all parties involved, but the one who produced enough bile to get under everybody's skin.
    7. One may only have one playable character. Craft carefully.
    8. Fourth Wall breaking is tolerated, so long as it's done tastefully. Please, don't tear the curtain of illusion apart, but you can make allusions and nods to some things that don't belong or poke fun at things that stick out in-game. Try to keep it to the narrative, if at all.

    Collectibles

    Pins

    1. Pins are the heart and soul of WWD. They determine how strong your character is and how much they can take in a fight, getting entry to sections of the park, and they're just plain fun to collect. Gotta catchget'em all.
    2. There are 2 types of Pins to get. 1.) Purchasable Pins that can be bought in Carl's Pin Shop with earned Disney Dollars. 2.) Non-Purchasable Pins can only be found by a.) Completing a specific job for the first time or b.) Making a particular Character Ally.
    3. They determine how far you progress in the story at a time.
    4. Pins in Set 1 increase Attack and pins in Set 2 increase Defense.
    5. It takes five (5) pins from a matching set to make a full stat point.

    Autographs & Photos

    1. Talk to a character or pair of characters wherever they can be found.
    2. A pair of characters that count as one will be indicated by a "&" in between their names.
    3. The first time you talk to a character is the Autograph signing and Photo Opportunity; be sure to have your handy dandy autograph booklet.
    4. The picture is taken by and stored by your MagicBand+
    5. Don't get on anybody's bad side! Being rude to them allows them to deny your offer to get the collectible.

    Progression Limits and Maps

    1. You start at the first section of a present park, if you are coming in late of the beginning.
    2. Some parts of certain sections are locked. You'll need to beat the boss to get a key.
    3. Maps will be given of each section, and the spots that are actual places you can enter. Please, don't create a building that is not listed.
    4. Unlocking the next section of the park will require a set amount of Pins for each part.
    5. Anyone who beats a boss cannot fight that boss again to help someone going back to a previously cleared park. However, the boss has half its health once defeated a first time.
    6. You may only advance to a next section after reaching the pin criteria, even if someone else has advanced.
    7. You may only be the one to unlock the next section of a park once, until a 30 day time limit has expired. This means that if you unlock one section, you cannot unlock any sections afterwards for 30 days. Each player may only unlock two sections of any park, maximum.
    8. You may only move from one section to another at a time. You may move within the section you're currently in, but travelling to another ends your post. This is to encourage posting more than once in a day.

    Daily Events

Want to give yourself a little boost? Daily events come in different varieties, but all of them help you.

    Character Meet and Greet

    1. Match a name(s) to days of the week by color-coordination. If Mary & Bert are orange, that means they can be found wandering about on Sunday, since Sunday is marked orange.
    2. These dates go by the Time Zone you gave. If you did not give a time zone, then it goes by EST.

    Jobs

    1. In order to start a Job, check the "Daily Events" thread. Apply for a job in the RP, and you will be introduced and given instructions. You will only be given the introduction once, and then, after that, you can just complete the job freely in the same post you applied in.
    2. The instructions will always be the same for each job.
    3. Some jobs are only open some days of the week. This runs by your clock if you provided your Time Zone, but if you did not, it runs by EST.
    4. You may complete a particular job once a day.

    Items

    Keyblade

    Pin Lanyard

    • A strap of heavy duty approximately 36" (91 cm) in circumference, and approximately from 3/4" to 1" wide. Draped around the neck with lobster claw locking mechanism in the back, they come in an assortment of colors and hold the player's pins.
    • It carries up to ten (10) pins at a time. In order to increase your stats, you must visit a MyMagic+ Service Center. Your profile will be updated and however many pins you are carrying will be digitally transferred to your MyMagic+ account.

    MagicBand+

    • Enhances the capabilities of a Keyblade within the park. Due to the limiting nature of the resort over magical abilities, anything previously built up will be knocked down to a base level and will need to be built back up.
    • The MagicBand+ comes in pink, blue, red, green, orange, gray and yellow. They are plush, comfortable wristbands with a Hidden Mickey Sigil on the top.
    • They unlock your room doors when you swipe them by the doorhandle.
    • By pressing and holding the Mickey Sigil, a 3D Holographic menu pops up with the options: Travel to Resort, Check Profile, and Map.
    • Travel to the Resort- Automatically teleports you to your Resort room. This is not presently available.
    • Check Profile- Check your Pin Collection, Stats, and Current Mission In-Game.
    • Map- Shows your character detailed info on their current location, and the areas they have unlocked.

    The Golden Rule

    • More rules will be created and amended as the need is found. To keep the game from getting broken, mundane, or otherwise, and to give the players the best experience they can get out of WWD.

That's right! And her little dog too. I'm sorry... I could not resist. After the Spanish nurses outrage over her dog being euthanized, the U.S. was trying to avoid outrage. So, they tested Nina's dog, Bentley, and made sure it didn't have Ebola. They played fetch with it in hazmat suits and now Nina's going back home, as well as Amber Vinson. Bentley didn't have Ebola, and animals contract things like this a lot easier than humans do.

As to why they killed the Spanish dog: they didn't perform any tests. It was right away "Better Safe than Sorry", and they didn't tell the nurse so as to not distress her while she was recovering. She recovered and became distressed, but was alive. That's the thing. On First World Soil, this thing has a pretty good running record of treatment. My worry is based in Africa. People are suffering, dying in horrible conditions, and, if you're not concerned yet, here's where it affects you: they're serving as Ebola's little natural test subjects. There's some debate on how fast Ebola is mutating, but there is one thing that's almost certain: If we don't stop it there, it can happen here with a stronger disease in the future. That's why we can't wholly shut down the airports. That's why we have to remain calm.

EDIT: Some cute pictures that improve faith in humanity:

After the nurse getting on a plane, and not infecting anyone so far, and the only fatality, Thomas Eric Duncan, not infecting anyone in his family, there's apparently very little to worry about. Both nurses who contracted the disease are now cleared as of October 24th, 2014. One doctor coming back to New York City of all places chooses to not quarantine himself but has the money to go bowling and ride a personal taxi to and from everywhere he had to go the night before he crashed with a 100.3 fever. I do not judge this man, since he did great things by helping the people where Ebola IS a real problem. Still... NYC. I can't help it, but that scares me a little. Potential infection of the homeless, because that could pose a huge infection risk. I can't tell you how many fake stories I've seen on Facebook.

I get all my data from Reddit. Reddit.com/r/ebola is a safe haven for rational thought. It can tell you how to prepare, just in case, but it also arms you with the greatest weapon of all: knowledge. Of how to not be afraid. Of how to keep yourself safe should anything ever happen. Knowledge is good in these circumstances.
