I really don't think of the temperature when it's snowing but you're probably right. What's the highest temperature you can get down there? ^^
Here the highest are about 30 degrees which I think is reaaaly warm :P

As for how to know which model is which, either just view all the models till you find it OR you can use a simple method in ps2dis using a dump (any dump will do)

Instructions:

1. Open ps2dis with a dump
2. Press G and type in "01a00000"
3. Press Ctrl+3 and type in the UCM digit of a character
4. Now either you see a label close by (down) or you have to press F4 to continue the search
5. When you found that label, you know that label is that characters
6. If you want to confirm that it really is that characters model, try and open it in the model viewer

As for knowing which model is which you can use a model viewer to view the models in; check out this tutorial that I made a while ago for how to get your hands on the models:

They have the same data? That can't be, you sure you copy Sora's model addresses (marked X) and go to Valor's model data with the "BTLF" on the end (marked Y) and put them together like this:
