Okay then. I forgot to ask, when you said your laptop kept "Freezing", did you mean a full freeze that required a restart, or a small freeze that just slowed down the scan?

Okay, so you've got two laptops, correct? One of which has a virus? Just wanna make sure so I don't mix up which one you're using.

Anyway, for the infected one, try scanning in Safe mode if you haven't already.

That's a good sign. Once it's done you should be able to see what files those infections were attached to. One of them may be the one you picked up today.

Have you tried Malwarebytes? It's pretty good, and it notifies you of identified infections as soon as it's detected instead of at the very end. Plus it's a pretty simplistic program. AND it's free.

If Spybot fails, might I suggest Malwarebytes if you haven't tried it? I have it and it gets the job done pretty good.

What scanner are you using?

Have you tried starting a scan and not touching the laptop until it's done? If you're using it while it's scanning, it can cause problems.
