Well, Maria is the first person in his life that's ever cared for him, and she was in his life for years as proven by Classic Shadow's knowledge of her existence. If he had a chance to bring that person back to him, I think he'd take it, repercussions be damned.

What I mean is, for example: He wishes for his wife, Durga, to "Be Alive Again". The thing is, he never specifies how long she is alive for. Thus, she is later killed by the Reapers due to this. Opinions?
