Well he has to be in order to compensate for not being able to deathnote anything. At least 75% of the characters in the RP can get out of it on the excuse they aren't technically human. (e.g Nobody,l'cie, demon, god, lion, material) and the small portion it does work on escapes through the rp rules lol.
