Also, I'll eventually try to coerce you into playing as Emilia in CC. She gets a lot more confident later in the game, so she'd be more your kind of character. Plus we can have her argue with Lumia a lot, and Kraz be all protective, which is fun.

Here's how it works; you finish both acts of a story chapter, then you'll get cutscene matters. Then you go do a free mission, one you haven't already completed preferably, and you'll be given another brief cutscene. Then you go find whoever you need to find, and the chapters starts properly.
Get to level 10 before you go further though, as that's when you unlock whatever race's special ability. Humans/Newmans get Mirage Blasts, a powerful elemental attack. Beasts get Nanoblast, which is a transformation into a more powerful form. CASTs get SUV weapons, giant weapons that clearly belong on mechas rather than people. Humans/Newmans and CASTs have to buy theirs from the armour unit shop, whereas Beasts buy theirs from the appearance shop. You'll need a B-rank or higher armour to use the SUV weapons or Mirage blasts though.
Also, I should mention that any character can access what you put in storage, and achievements are only given once, to you and not the character. Make sure not to get rid of unique items.

Okay, that's cool. De Ragan. Beating that does unlock new story, you have to go see Kraz first though.
