Well, you need to know what the line does. Or you just test, and see if it does something to the game, with new data. Like in Final Mix+ and kh2, to model mod uhm...Sora! You press ctrl+g and search "P_EX100" (in quotes), but it may not be there...so i will just tell you the line...:P

Okay! Now that is sora, and if we go two lines above you can see hus UCM digit, 54, which is how you can find other people's model's and mset's. Well, lets say we want to turn sora into Valor, but keep his normal moveset, he will not fight like valor, just be dressed like him. We just need to add "_BTLF" (Valor's model is "P_EX100_BTLF) to his model. Now, since sora does not end with a "_" we need to add one, but first change Sora's model to bytes, have the first line highlighted and press "B", do the same for the line right under it. Now go to the line that's data looks like:

Highlight the one that says "00------", and that is where we add our "_". Take the line and make the data "0000005f" (5f is an "_" in Hex), so now Sora's model is "P_EX100_". Now, simple, we just go to the line below and copy it down. For the data, we will make it "BTLF". But, O: you don't know what that is in Hex. To find this, just go down, until you see "P_EX100_BTLF" or "P_EX100_BTLF.mset". Find the line that has the "BTLF" as the data (it is "464c5442"). Add that data to the line below "P_EX100_" and it becomes "P_EX100_BTLF", and, thus, making him Valor Sora with sora's normal moveset. :P

Our final code would be:

FM+: 01c954f7 0000005f

You do about the same thing with the ".mset"s. just change em' to another form, with sora, and he will fight like that form. :)

Are you talking about patching, hacking, or just running the emulator? I have pretty much no experience with the emulator, as I've yet to get it to work. For patching (don't hold me to this, because I've never patched PS2 games) you usually need some kind of program.
