It is true that it's unfair to win with a single lucky draw. But that's the basis of all card games. You forget about the luck involved and just try to own with the cards your dealt, and it's interesting to construct a deck that helps you gain advantage in the random draw format.

The point of random draw isn't really to win, it's to have fun playing the game, which is ironic since yugioh is very tournament-friendly. In that aspect, it's the opposite of gambling.

I see your point, but let me argue this; part of random draw is preparing yourself just in case your opponent does draw that lucky card. You never know what is in your opponent's hand, which keeps the realm of possibility broad. It's why you can't use strategies as bold as ones in the arena in random draw, you must always have caution. But that isn't to say that luck doesn't exist in it. But then again, luck exists in life. That doesn't mean life revolves around luck, it's just everything has its own realm of probability. It's knowing how to manipulate that probability that has gotten us this far.

If Mendel hadn't had a social life, would he have became the father of genetics? We were lucky he was born in the society he lived in, but humanity made that society. Luck exists, but human advancement is built by our own hands. It's the same with Poker. Everyone's dealt the cards on the get-go, but how we use them determines our fate, not luck itself. You can choose to bluff or fold, go all in or call the bet. You still have the choice.

It doesn't =/ The rules in the Arena are fair but there's just too many variables for me to have to think about. I'm going through a lot (mentally) and I just can't seem to bring myself to come up with or carry out a decent strategy. With random draw I might be able to just think about what's in front of me, but even that's a stretch. Again I'm sorry for just showing up and leaving. If I can get into DN I might drop by the thread often though.

Hey, Jaden. I came to tell you that I've been thinking about returning to the arena. But with graduation, my senior class trip, and deciding a college, I'm kinda busy. If I can get some free time, I'll try to rejoin the arena. ^-^ I hope you can understand.

You're right, and I'm not disagreeing with the rule. If you could pull whatever card you needed out of your -censored-, it wouldn't be fair.

Random draw has its appeal just like forum duels do. With forum duels, the variables and possibilities of what you can do with your cards are nearly endless (so long as they fall under certain criteria (I.E. banned cards and following themes). Some people like the free playing field of it, others are intimidated by it. Random draw just feels like you're planning ahead less and deciding what you can do with the cards you're dealt with. Sure it can be less intense, but it eases the load on planning out complex combo after complex combo.

In short, it depends on what cup of tea you like.
