Technically speaking, the book itself will be taken back, but its wish-granting power would remain in U-D while she's under his command. She could, technically speaking, make him far more effective in combat through a wish-granting. Or thumbs, at the very least.
Me and Rienzel already discussed something similar happening to Light, where he'll be given the scythe he uses in some promotional images, and the ability to fight effectively with it. I see no reason why Scar shouldn't get the same.
He may briefly be wish-less though, since it'd take the three Materials to activate U-D in the first place.

PLANNING TIME.
So I'm thinking of, for this part, following the ending of the game my four characters are from. This means that Yuri/U-D awakens, and starts to grow in power, slowly approaching the point where she's strong enough to destroy the planet.
Now, obviously this'll be stretched out a bit; so U-D would likely be on Scar's side for quite a while before any planet destroying attempts happen.
Thing is, and I dunno how you'd want to act with this, it'd probably mean everyone working together to stop her at some point. I mean, she's pretty damn powerful, and grows in strength the longer she's left.
