It's not that simplistic, but I suppose if you wish to voice it that way: yes.

Tell him that I don't allow pet ladles at my house, but he can talk to Kyo about it if he so wishes.

yea, I know, but I really needed sleep.

uggg, I'm sorry I haven't been on, but I feel like I got mugged by someone with a baseball bat. ;n; and I miss my bestie... haven't really actually talked to her in too long. I'm still sick and I'm not supposed to go to school tomorrow either. I just will not be trapped here, alone, sick, one more day, I'm going nuts.

You treat it like it's such a trivial matter, but it's not. Being happy is not simply something I'm capable of. All times that I've been "happy" are due to either being heavily medicated, or under the illusion of happiness. True happiness, I'm not capable of. So trying to get me to be happy isn't something that's going to work out very well for you. Which is why I gave you a success rate of 25%. Which has dropped now to 15%.

If there was something wrong, I'd let you help. But seeing as there's nothing wrong at the moment, I'm not needing your help. If I needed your help, I'd let you know. All this time, I've been speaking without emotion. And you're becoming angry with me for having a monotonous view on the situation. Would you rather I be sobbing my eyes out? Or perhaps cracking up with laughter?
You see, Cloud. When I'm in this sort of mood, there is no way to pull me out of it. You can't "lift me out" of this "hole" because I'm not in one. I'm simply on an even playing grounds with my mind overworking itself.
      I suppose I'm like L right now.

If you knew anything about me, you wouldn't be making such accusations.

I don't choose to be this way.
      I am what I am.

Ah, see. Now you're beginning to throw your emotion into the discussion, which makes this an invalid statement. I'm speaking in terms of total nullity here.
      In either case, I'll continue.
I recall stating that emotions are caused by a chemical in the brain. I never once said that the chemical balances would not change due to the outer stimuli. And how valid do you know those sorts of studies are? Perhaps they chose naturally happy people with good chemical balances to do the tests, that way they could receive the results that they wanted. Perhaps they didn't? You weren't the one conducting the particular study, so it's difficult for you to speak on such matters.
In short, I refuse to believe that happiness is a state of mind. Simply because studies (of which I have made my own observations for) prove that true happiness is not something that one can truly achieve by putting themselves that way. It's simply a lie that they're living.

Studies would beg to differ with your theory. If we're discussing this as though happiness is a state of mind (and I'll humor you by doing so), then a state of mind is only temporary. One cannot be happy all the time, because having a particular state of mind is a temporary thing. In which case, you also cannot force happiness upon someone, and it makes it their own choosing to be the way that they are.
However, through my personal experiences, happiness is not as easy as saying "Oh, I'm going to be happy today." because you simply cannot force the state of mind upon yourself, or anyone else. Which disproves your theory that happiness is a state of mind, thus reducing it back down to an emotion that is produced by chemicals in the brain.

Falsifying happiness doesn't cause one to be happy. It may trick their mind into the illusion that they are momentarily happy, but when that feeling is gone and their chemical balances go back to their usual state, the person is left with a more empty feeling than before.

      I don't see why.
The feelings of a person relate to the moral of the conversation, and if you figure that you wish to have a conversation with high moral, you wouldn't continue to speak to me. However if you're craving a conversation with low moral so that you can attempt at bringing the moral up, you're welcome to try. I can't guarantee success. Actually, your success rate is at about a 30%, no.. 25% chance of success.

Depressed, tired, does it matter how I feel?
