The website will live...no worries about that. Just that the people who were originally the first are starting to grow out of this place, and quickly losing interest, and the slightly lesser elder members are now taking their place. It's bound to happen. We've almost lost the 1st genneration...

Hola! Oui, it has been a while. Thanks to the summer boredom, I came back. haha. And thank you, though I am not all that funny... O.o Wait, maybe I am, but that's because I always make an idiot of myself. xDDD So, how's it going?

It took me 3 hours to get the one I have right now working. What makes you think i'll know how to do it this time?

They're definitely good for a beginner. My first five sigs definitely weren't that good. xD As for improving, just read general tutorials on composition techniques and the basic things you needs (depth, lighting, etc). Full Sig Tutorials aren't bad, but they just teach you how to replicate someone else's work. I've never liked that.

Just tutorials, tutorials, tutorials. It helped me a lot to look at other people's work I admired, and try to achieve a similar style. Sometimes I would get close to their style, sometimes I wouldn't, but it taught me a lot to see something and try to find out how to do it.

I've got other tutorial sites as well as some of my own if you need them.

That can help at times, especially if you're doing a collab, but it's tough to learn things from someone just talking to you. You can get the same experience by reading a tutorial, although I can help you with some little problems and/or questions.

Oh trust me, those are a hell of a lot better than my first attempt. Trust me, if I can go from what my first sig was like, to making passable sigs, then you'll be fine. Just follow tutorials until you can develop your own style.

You mean an image with a background? Generally those are referred to as stocks (though sometimes renders are referred to as stocks as well... I dunno, artists can be dumb) and I'm not very good at working with them, though I can make decent sigs out of them depending on the stock. What do you need help with concerning them?

Well I don't use GIMP, I use Photoshop CS3. Misty is a pro with GIMP, so she would be better suited to help you with that. I know most of the terms you could encounter, so ask away. A C4D is a 3D render, usually made in the program Cinema 4D (hence the name C4D). They are renders like this:
