"Kingdom Hearts 2.8" Featured in Dengeki PlayStation Along With Interview From Yoko Shimomura!

The most recent issue of Dengeki PlayStation once again featured Kingdom Hearts 2.8. This issue seems to be focused mostly on the gameplay systems of the 0.2 and Dream Drop Distance portions of the game. It also seems to mention Sora's appearance in World of Final Fantasy.

However, this issue also features an interview with series composer, Yoko Shimomura. This interview is currently untranslated, but when it is available, we'll let you guys know :)

Full English Cast of 'Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] Back Cover' Revealed

With 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue' having recently been released in Japan, some early English copies of the game appear to have been leaked. YouTube user Cyberman65 has posted the full English version of the Back Cover cinematic, and with the leak, we got information on who voices who in it, confirming previous scoops made in the past year regarding certain voice actors, including Michael Johnston as Ephemer, Karissa Lee Staples as Invi, and Kevin G. Quinn as Gula. The full list can be viewed below:

Tetsuya Nomura Interview in Newest Issue of Famitsu Translated [Spoilers for KH 2.8]

As we previously reported, Testsuya Nomura, series creator of Kingdom Hearts has been featured in the newest issue of Famitsu. Thanks to our lovely translator and supermod @Stardust the first page of that interview has been translated. Be careful of spoilers for Kingdom Hearts 2.8! Seriously there are a ton so the interview is in spoiler tags.

- To start us off, please tell us what sort of game KH2.8 is, and how it fits into the series.

Nomura: In terms of story, you could call it the introduction to KHIII. You should know this story before KHIII. It's perhaps just before KHIII, or a small step into it?

- In KH0.2, there was a scene in which Sora and co. appeared. How does that fit in?

Nomura: It's possible you could get the gist of that in Kingdom Hearts III, but you can only get the details in KH0.2. If you look at the chapter's name in the Theater, I think you'll understand the intent.

- I'll have to take a look! Regarding KH0.2, the King and Riku received bags containing new costumes. Seems as though the KHIII outfits are finished too, huh?

Nomura: The designs are already being done; some of the prototype illustrations are on the KHX cards. Riku's hairstyle will also get a change, so please look forward to hearing more about it.

- I was under the impression 0.2 was to be a short episode, but there was a surprising amount of content -- challenges, among other things.

Nomura: The challenges and decorations were not elements the staff initially planned, so they worked their hardest until the very end to include them.

- Were decorations like cat ears chosen by the staff?

Nomura: That's right. It's true of planning too, but the whole staff gets a say; we only exclude the really useless stuff and implement almost everything.

- Will decorations make a return in KHIII?

Nomura: I don't know yet. Since KH0.2 is a short episode, it was built around the idea of including extra elements. There's a lot more to do in KHIII, so I think it depends on how things are going when we near the end of production.

- I see. KH0.2 seems more comfortable to play than the version we saw exhibited before. The graphics are also becoming more polished.

Nomura: We've brushed it up based on feedback from that version. I especially think the graphics have changed; the lighting has been adjusted considerably, and I think Aqua has become cuter (laugh). We're polishing up KH0.2 as much as time will allow, but of course, we'll work on KHIII even more.

- How did you conceptualize things like battles, etc.?

Nomura: In the series' last installment, KH3D, we adopted a free-flow action model to make the action feel better than ever. This was an important next step for Kingdom Hearts, as much about dynamic action as it was flashiness, almost to the point of overkill.

- Ah, you did say that in an interview at the time.

Nomura: KH0.2 will be the first Kingdom Hearts since then. It will be different than before. We cannot use the same CG models, and the bones (the components inside the CG models that form their 'skeleton') will also change, so their movement will be new. The point this time was more refreshing action without losing the feeling of Kingdom Hearts.

II.8 Final Chapter Prologue

Sneak Peak of Unchained χ Multiplayer Mode Revealed

In September, the developers of Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ announced that Mutiplayer Mode would be added to the game. These quests will allow players to play side-by-side and complete these quests with other party members. Well today, a trailer of sorts was released showing us a sneak peak of what's to come.
