Well, earlier today I just got an email from youtube saying that one of my videos might be eligable for a youtube partnership. Here's the video.

What do you guys think I should do? I want to see if it's alright for it, but I don't want it removed from youtube, which they say is likely to happen if it's not okay for a partnership. I could always just record playing it again, but it's the most views on a video I have(300 isn't alot but for me it is).

From my understanding, when you become a YouTube partner, YouTube expects you to upload videos that do not contain copyrighted content, and on a somewhat regular basis. At least that's how it used to be. You might want to look into that. Or maybe you can have partnership for specific videos? I don't know.

To be honest, I think it's more trouble than it's worth unless you really want to become a committed uploader. But that's just my opinion. You judge.

actually I do want to upload more, but right now I need to figure out what's wrong with my stinkin $10 camera my dad bought me, and than there's the problem with my AMVs. I would upload like crazy if possible, I just need to figure out what's going on with my stuff at the moment.

Being a YouTube partner and having a video picked as a "partner" video are two very different things.

I know, that's why I'm wondering. I still haven't chosen because I really don't know if I should or not

Honestly do views matter that much to you? There are a ton of videos that are great that have low views.

Unless you're going to be starting a youtube show like Nigahiga or something, I do not suggest it.

Though I do not understand youtube much at all anymore.

well, the views just make me happy that people are actually watching it. I know it's stupid, but I like that people watch it, and I'm glad that that many people have seen it.

That isn't stupid at all but what you have to realize is it may not come easily. If you keep uploading things that people will watch then people will come back and your numbers will increase gradually. It may not come right away but it is bound to happen.

That is totally valid. I suggest that unless you want to be committed and upload more then stay away from it. Even if it is your most popular video that could be taken down then it's not the end of the world- views come over time anyway, you can get them again. However, I'm not completely aware of what a partnership involves so I'm not the best person to be replying, however I do think it's something that should only be done if you are sure about it.

My let my hear you scream amv is the most popular vid I've got becuse of KH-Vids...

Anways, I guess it depends on what your gonna upload. I've had a few of my AMV's blocked worldwide because of copywrite(which is very annoying). I would think once you partner with them they'll take a look at your vids, if they see copywrite they could flag them. So unless you want a bunch of your vids blocked you might wanna avoid making a deal with them.

see, these are exactly the points why I'm still considering actually trying for a partnership. I know I can get views later, but I would have to replay that, and it's not often I get a quite time around here, and I don't even know if my camera will record properly. I tried recording a few game reviews(which I need to work on, I sound so dull) and when I tried uploading them, I got the sound by a blank screen.
I can apply for one anytime I want, so I'm just going to take a little time, because I'm not entirely sure.
@Ienzo The main and biggest thing with a youtube partnership is that they put advertisments on those videos and for how many people watch it you'll get a little bit of revenue, and when it reaches a certain point they'll send you a check with that amount of money

Perhaps consider making a second account to host your copyright-infringing material, so they don't crack down on it?

Also, on what basis are they deleting your video? If it's not copyright infringement or anything, why would they delete it?
