youthful ignorance

forgive my youthful ignorance ^^'... but i was wondering if anyone was interested in explaining what role play is XD... im fairly new and would possibly like to try sometime... but im rather confused because i dont know how DX i would appreciate tips and comments and dont assume i know the general terms...because i know nothing! DX

 

In a nutshell Role-playing is where you pretend to be another person/creature.
Its like writing a story but other people get involved.
For example:

1st person (The boy is this persons character):
He walked along the moonlit path staring up at the sky, suddenly he saw a young girl dressed in black. "Are you ok?" he said as he slowly approached her...

2nd person (The girl is this persons character): She turned to face him, "Oh yes, I'm fine." She said quietly...

And it carries on like that.

Most of the time, yes. But in some RP's you can have more than 1 character. You would just have to make sure that it is ok with the person who started the RP.

But you can have many characters in different RP's.

 

Roleplay is basicly the same as playing kingdom hearts, except you make up your own charecter, you go by a different story line, and its a whole lotta stuff. Basicly, instead of having a controller to control your char, you have a key board

 

It's a form of storytelling. You control a character (or more than one) and you decide how the character talks and behaves around the others. At the beginning you supply a profile which limits your character so it is not too powerful (called godding). It also tells everyone a little about the character you are playing (name, age, race, abilities & weapons). It's up to your imagination on the personality.

Join one and have fun. It's the best way to learn. I've been RP'ing for years.
