Since I assume people here use headphones, what kind do you have?

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD202's. I <3 them despite me having to adjust the plug due to one ear only playing when I plug them in.

Well I'm very cruel to headphones so I buy pretty close the bottom line, I usually have to replace them every month and a half.

I can't find the packaging to give you an exact model but my current pair are Phillips brand that I gt in a bargain bin for a bit shy of $10

These Sennheiser's were like, $18 on Amazon, marked down from $40. So yeah, I have studio headphones at bargain prices! xD

Mine are a not-so-cheap pair of Sennheiser cx271. They 8r8k regularly, 8ut that's fine. After all, I have warranty. I keep returning them whenever they 8r8k. 8y now I've pro8a8ly gone through over ten pairs. The shop will pro8a8ly catch on eventually, 8ut until then, I'm enjoying my free ear8uds.

Oh yeah. I also have a mor8id fear of over-ear headphones. I'm scared that I'm going to deafen myself, and I have no idea how loud to make them. Ear8uds are far easier to regul8 for me.

Any suggestions on how to manage volume? I don't know how to tell how loud it is 8efore hearing is damaged.

It took me a little while to get used to. One thing you must not mistake though is it is harder to hear anything around you regardless how loud they are because it blocks a lot of your hearing. How loud I usually have it is a little under halfway on my ipod.

Mine are Sansa in-ear buds. I can't remember how much I paid for them, probably under $10. But they work well enough that they not only block outside noise but I don't need to put the volume up too high, I can hear my music perfectly.

Geez, everyone seems to be getting decent headphones for the same general price that I got my crappy ones. I didn't plan on getting these again anyway (virtually no sound isolation) but I'm starting to feel jipped.

BTW P, with earbuds placing the speaker closer to your eardrum you become more susceptible to having hearing damage.

I usually control volume when trying out new hardware by bringing the headphones to arround my neck and slowly pulling the volume back until I'm a bit passed not being able to hear it at that distance before placing it on my ears.

I have skullcandy myself, I think the 2X line or something? In ear, of course.

I have little earbuds that I got for like $15, I think the brand is like Rocketfish or something?

I used to buy the cheap little ones that were $8-ish, but they started to hurt my ears, had no noise-cancelling at all, and would break constantly. I'm pretty happy with the new ones, though. I'm not one of those people that need top of the line headphones.

Right now I have a pair of half-working Skullcandy. I've had them for four or five years now, so I don't remember the specific brand, but they're over-ear.
Saving up money for these glorious ones though.

I've just got cheap skull candy earbuds for now. But someday I wanna get a pair of these

Dr. Dre Beats. My friend has a pair of these and they're amazing. The sound quality is perfect, and the headphones block out all external noise. The only bad part is that they cost like $300 :/

I have some really ugly looking Koss' with a microphone. It looks like the cheapest headset, but it works suprisingly well. The microphone is waaaay too loud/sensitive though, I have to turn the microphone volume to the lowest no matter where I'm using it I have no idea how much they cost, I got them as a christmas present.

I don't care much for quality. My hearing is pretty bad. Which is funny because I volunteer as a techie and almost always get assigned audio. Whenever I ask for suggestions for durable built-like-a-tank headphones on other forums I get the audiophile answers on top quality headphones.

White pair of Beats By Dre Solos for regular music enjoyment.

Black pair of Beats By Dre Studios for recording and mixing.

White pair of Beats By Dre Heartbeats for if I don't feel like wearing a big pair of headphones around my neck/on my head.

Yes, I spent more money on my headphones then I did on my ipod. I'm that cool.

I never go expensive for earbuds, the most expensive pair I bought were 20 bucks. The best pair however were the ones that came with Zune.

I usually just go to Best Buy and buy 5 dollar ones lol, they last pretty long.

Yeah. With me, I tend to listen to it at low volumes. My friends usually comment on how they can't hear it at all. Ear8uds allow me to regul8 it more thoroughly. Not so much with headphones though.

Wait, they joke about that? For me it is always me teasing them because I can hear theirs. My favorite was the time in high school where I could recognize the song someone had playing over mine (Chop Suey)

I mean, can't hear mine, even if they put it in their ears. If you can hear someone else's music through their headphones, something is wrong.
