As the tittle sugests, you post your favorite singer and why there your favorite singer.

Mine would be Hayley Williams from Paramore. She is just so passionate about her music and has charisma a lot of singers tend to lack these days. Plus her lyrics are really intresting. Its like being emo without being whiney and droning on and on about how life sucks.

My favorite singer has always been Chris Cornell, formerly of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave. His voice is a hardcore melody with the capacity for serenity, ferocity, and melancholy. Massive respect for the guy.

I would have to say it's between Dave Gahan and Scott-David Allen.

Dave Gahan is the singer to my favorite band, Depeche Mode. I can't get enough of there music and Dave's voice is hard for me to explain but something about it always has me listening to their songs over and over. And it blends in so swell to the type of music they play which makes it even better.

Scott-David Allen happens to be the singer of my favorite song, State of Mind, by his one man band, A Covenant of Thorns. Now his voice is absolutely hypnotizing to me. It's so soothing and oh my how he has me listening for hours. Not only that, but his voice is what calms me down when I'm upset and it has this power over me. I just have to love it.

Lady Gaga. Not only does she have an amazing voice, she also promotes equality and takes a stand against bullying.

Oooh, that's a toughie. I do like Eminem, but he isn't really a singer, is he?

Hmmm.... This is actually a bit tougher then I thought lol. I guess I would just have to say Adam Levine for Stereo Hearts. I have not looked all that into Gym Class Heroes, but I would have to say its a pretty good song :)

As of this second, it is gonna have to be Christina Grimmie. Youtube her, she's pretty amazing.
But it changes all the time, due to the various styles of music I listen to.

    Stand aside for Roy Khan.

Here's one of my favorite songs that he performs.

Wide vocal range, a beautiful voice, soul that you can hear, singing really substantial lyrics.

Jonny Craig. His voice is heavenly, very soulful. He's been my main inspiration to start singing ever since I listened to Downtown Battle Mountain.

Either Taylor Swift because her songs are good for writing/drawing to or Tyler Glenn from Neon Trees because they're one of the few bands out there that don't sound like demented robots. Plus his voice is so easy to listen to.

Tom Delonge. He's made three bands, overcome painkillers, has a wife, children, and the lyrics he writes are beautiful, inspiring, and chilling right to the bone. Well. SOME lyrics, I won't credit him for some of the songs he wrote in blink-182, but Angels and Airwaves is brilliant. He writes all of their songs, and everything he says, everything he does in that band is perfect.

"When the storm brings rain, snow, fate of all kinds
    you can feel most anything
When the day seems to melt, fall flat into night
    you can feel most anything
When you can't go on, you got to get up and try
This is it, can you feel me?
And when the bombs come down, we will make it alive
But only if you want to believe
    "

"There's no one left here, to show a future that's kind
It's a world of hate, gone incredibly wrong
We cared too late; we just followed along
    "

"My feet will never touch the ground
Because the days they feel like ancient clocks
Like when kids grow up and learn to walk
Because your life is full of pure desire
    A place so gloriously wired
    With lights and sounds
Oh, God this is such a mess
    And it's like our world
But we're the last ones left
    And the hair it stands
On the back of our necks
    And I swear it shows
Heaven must be just like this
    "

Sorry for the long post and the lyrics, I just love him so much.

Marko Saaresto from Poets of the Fall, easily. I listen to his voice and just melt inside I find it so beautiful, I absolutely love the passion that is portrayed and the emotion along with his deep voice that can go quite high rather quickly. I enjoyed his voice and the bands lyrics ever since I first heard them and I just wished they were better known.

An example would have to be:

    I have quite a few.

Chris Martin from Coldplay because his voice is so very mellow and relaxing and the imagery in his lyrics is astounding to me.

Then there's Brandon Boyd of Incubus because he can do a wide range of different things, from soothing songs like Mexico to harder screamo-type songs like Pardon Me

Then Frank Ocean, because his voice is extremely soothing and he also has some very creative lyrics. He's also a decent story teller when it comes to songwriting and as also a dope rapper.

Then we got The Weeknd, he's got a great voice as well and his lyrics are really dark, yet honest and vivid which I quite enjoy. Also the instrumentals he sings over are amazing.

Then there's Haley Williams. I love her voice and lyrics and like OP said she's good and sometimes sounding somewhat emo lyrically without sounding like she's whining.

And lastly there's Adele because she ****ing Adele and her voice is like an angel descending from heaven.

Ray LaMontagne. He's got this incredibly emotional voice that gives the songs he sings this feeling of a raw wound.

    In no particular order:

If I don't stop editing this list, it's going to eat the page. For not liking singing that much, I sure have a lot of favorite singers.

i lovve Bon iver, especially creature fear. every song has a story behind it and it's so much fun to interpret them and pay attention and decide what you think is being sung. im not real big on the whole modern pop and all the lame techno

Honestly, I have 2 different favorite singers, one is T Mills, no one(that I know of at least) knows of this dude at all, I mean honestly I didn't think I was gonna like him at first, but for some reason he just caught on for me
My second one has to be Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria, I love the way he sings and I love his screams, he gets them pin point, but I do gotta say that their whole new album, sept for a few songs, I didn't particularly like. It just didn't seem like him anymore.
