Your favorite non-Square-Enix video-game character!

This was probably the wrong place to put this, but I wasn't sure which category suited this the best... And sorry if this has been done before!
Who is your favorite video-game character, if you exclude all Square-Enix characters? Please tell why he/she is your favorite!
Mine is Ashlyn, the Naughty Dog character from the Jak & Daxter-series. Why? She is a hot red-head, a woman obviously, AND SHE KICKS BUTT!!! The ideal role-model for me! (not in my parents opinion...)

 

hmm non S/E huh? hmm...*thinks*I'd have to say Protoman(original, not EXE version lol) or Zero from MEgaman series....

Which series/game, they sound familiar... And WHY, I'd prefer having reasons, not just a bunch of names!

 

Raynar = Starcraft series. Because of his inability to care while kicking the crap out of Zerg and Protoss.
Commander Keen because he was a kid who basically lived his fantasy to be out among the stars and it was a sick game back in the day.
Kyle Katarn = Star Wars Dark Forces->Jedi Academy games. He's a freaking Jedi who was with the stormtroopers in the original Dark Forces and he's a lasting character. He's like Han Solo but as a jedi in a sense.

we;; in that case...I liked protoman because:

he started out as Mega's rival, but when it came down to it, he helped him, in his own little way. even after finding out his energy core was failing on him. he fought to save his brother.

Zero because no matter what, he rose up. he fought no matter how grim. he was once a maverick and righted his ways, and hunted the rogue androids. he was a true hero. IMO

My favorite characters are from the Jak&Daxter game too

Ashlyn: same reasons with theonly9one
Jak: I think he is cool
Sig: He is cool too

 

Null,The perfect soldier,frank hunter,Frank Heager or Grey fox
The Boss and John Ho(Major Zero) Revolver Ocotlot.
I like all of these characters because they've got deep and Meaninful ideologies like my own.

 

Dante from DMC and Samanosuke from Oniumsha are my favorite non SE characters

 

First person who appears in my head whenever I hear that question is Axl Low from the Guilty Gear games. He's just........ so happy! ^^ Even with the odds against him ( timetravels unwillingly, trying to find a way back to his own time even if it seems impossible ) he keeps trying. Forever the optimist!


And he is British, so that's bonus points.

If it's an animal character I say Daxter for obvious reasons. I doubt I even have to explain, who here doens't know of Daxter? O.o

-Clank (Ratchet and Clank series): He's funny and he looks so cute when he yawns when you're playing the game.
