You know what really makes you not awesome?

Trying to show your emotion by posting a picture of someone who doesn't actually exist =/

i.e. Pretending that you are someone that doesn't exist. That is exponentially more sad than pretending that you are someone that does exist (and that is pretty sad in itself).

I pity those people that think that the best way to deal with the problems in their lives is to pretend that they are fictional characters =/

 

1 we don't pertend to be them we just be they way we aere with those pics in vm and rp

2 we use them to have fun to tell our emotions

3 we know

 

Aye but, it is hard enough to prove to others that you are being yourself online without pretending to be someone that everyone knows doesn't exist =/

 

we use the pics sometimes (except for jaden you know he uese it ALL the time >>'')

still some people know they won't exsit but people want to be friends with them too even if their not real >>'' ( im happy i made friends with jaden yuki) charaters name but diffrent personailties like being our self.

 

People are their own beings. No fictional character can take over being you. No matter how close a fictional character is to your own personality, they are not you.

It distresses me that people have to pretend to be someone else online and pretending to be someone that everyone knows to be not real is so fake and obvious =/

You know what's EVEN MORE NOT COOL?! Believing that being a fictional character out of specific role playing areas makes you cool and is acceptable :/gasp:

 

It's just the way we are we love our shows and wanna be like them idk why would u bring this up it's been ask like 1 or 2 times..

So what if someone likes a character a lot and finds a lot of similarities? A lot of people do. It's because they like the show/series/whatever.
Or maybe you didn't notice this was a video game forum.

Aye, but we are all real people. If people want to pretend to be someone else they can do it where it is acceptable i.e. in the RP area. I do realise that this is a video game forum, but that doesn't mean that people should be able to pretend that they are something they are not :wacko:

It isn't being obnoxious, it is being real and realistic. Reality is all there is, anything that reality denies is pointless =/

You know what's even cooler than pretending you're a fictional character? Pretending you're a fictional character of the opposite gender.

Umm, no? Because they do it in the RP area where it is supposed to be. Doing it in the Spamzone is the equivalent of a real life cosplayer doing their cosplaying at both conferences and in normal day activites.

If someone was cosplaying when they went to the shop or to school you would say they were mentally unstable. I don't say why it should be any different online :wacko:

 

I really don't think anyone "pretending" to be a character actually believes that they are that character. It's for fun.
And why shouldn't they be able to? As long as it's within the rules, people can do and say whatever they'd like.

You really don't think it's obnoxious to make a thread like this telling people that they are "not awesome" becaues of your views?
Btw reality isn't all there is, I heard imagination is pretty cool.

I'd call that a hardcore fan, not mentally unstable.

 

They can say and do whatever they like but pretending to be something that they are clearly not (by the fact that the thing they are pretending to be is known to be fictional) makes them seem very shallow and pretentious =/

Reality is rather important as it is what decides whether you live or die. Imagination cannot bring you food or air. It cannot prevent your death or prolong your life. Imagination, although an integral part to creativity and therefore being human, is always second to reality.

As I have said before, it shows the person as unable to accept what they are and therefore unable to accept reality.

 

For ****'s sake, it's the internet. The members act the way they do for fun because they're here, for the most part, to have fun. The fact that you seem to look down and consider these kids shallow and mentally unstable is pretty low, to be honest.

And no, I'm not. You can state your opinion, but your unwillingness to see others' views and continue to put them down is the obnoxious part.

Reality is important, but so is imagination. Without imagination some things cannot become a reality. Imagination also lends itself to fun and it's known that having fun and laughing does have a part in prolonging life.

And as I said before, I doubt that the members here act like the characters they like in real life. They do so here because it's fun, not because they're rejecting reality.

 

I would just rather people would be themselves and not pretend to be fictional characters. As you say, they don't have to listen to me. They also don't have to even read what I have written. That is a part of free speech; people are free not to listen/read what people have said/written.

However, I believe that people should always be themselves and keep lying to a minimum =/

They aren't lying, if anything they're acting. Actors don't lie on stage, they just portray the character they auditioned for. They aren't the characters they portray in reality, but they act because they find it fun.
