Yoko Shimomura Interview with RPG Site

Kingdom Hearts series composer, Yoko Shimomura, recently sat down for an interview with RPG Site, where she discussed her music, and the process of creating her memorable tunes. There isn't really anything new, and it's mostly about her music in general, yet it's still an interesting read for fans of her music. But of course, she did have a few words regarding Kingdom Hearts:

For Kingdom Hearts, I've been working on it for quite a while now. Because of that I can make new suggestions myself, I can change the direction and I have ideas about where to take it myself.

In my mind, Kingdom Hearts is very simple - very much Disney, cute and sweet. My original ideas for it were in that area - but on the contrary, I was asked to make very heavy stuff. There was quite the gap between my original idea and what was requested... filling that gap is really the heart of my job! That was what I did with the first Kingdom Hearts.

Nope, those songs were written and performed by Utada Hikaru. Yoko Shimomura composes the rest of the soundtrack.
