Announcement comes after Square-Enix expected an "extraordinary loss" this revenue year ending March 31. Will be replaced by Yousuke Matsuda. Via GameSpot
Wasn't he the guy who told his company to stop being creative and only make mainstream games? If that's true than it's probably good that he is leaving.
Ding dong the witch is dead. Actually, we'll have to wait and see if this really is good. While Wada did a poor job, I can imagine this guy doing a much worse one.
Hopefully Yousuke can do a good job with this. Sucks that Yoichi is resigning but I think it's probably for the best.
Just sharing some quality tweets on the subject: @KazHiraiCEO At any rate given what I've read about the losses they're posting I'm not shocked Wada is stepping down, I wouldn't count our chickens just yet because it's very possible whoever gets elected to replace him (I hear Matsuda is a likely choice?) could be no different or even worse. I did hear they were considering Phil Rogers which is crazy to think about, but you never know.
